Tuesday's Political Agenda: Kaczyński in Krakow, Second Round of Education Roundtable Talks

At 10:00 AM in Gorzów Wielkopolski, a press conference will be held by judges of the Constitutional Tribunal: Witold Pahl, Jerzy Wierchowicz, and Jerzy Kozdoń. The topic: A position statement on Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki's remarks concerning the Polish justice system.

At 11:00 AM in Warsaw, the second round of the "Educational Roundtable" debate will commence. The working sessions will cover 5 topics: "The Teacher in the Education System," "Quality of Education," "Modern School," "The Student in the Education System," and "The Parent in the Education System."

Media representatives will be able to attend a photo opportunity during the first part of the proceedings. Over 100 people will participate in the sub-committee work, including: teachers, students, parents, local government officials, representatives of non-governmental organizations, the academic community, and educational institutions, as well as trade union members. Two sub-committees will be chaired by Deputy Ministers Marzena Machałek and Maciej Kopeć.

At 1:00 PM in Krakow, an election meeting will take place with the participation of PiS leader Jarosław Kaczyński. This morning, a change occurred as a press conference originally planned to include Deputy Prime Minister Beata Szydło and MEP Ryszard Legutko was rescheduled. Additionally, at 4:30 PM in Nowy Sącz, a meeting with residents will be held with the participation of Deputy Prime Minister Beata Szydło and MEP Ryszard Legutko, followed by another at 7:00 PM in Tarnów.

In the evening, President Duda will deliver an address, as announced over the weekend by the presidential spokesperson. - We have the anniversary of Poland's accession to NATO, the 20th anniversary, and to the EU on May 1st, the 15th anniversary. Anyway, I can say that there will be an address by the President on this occasion. April 30th - announced Błażej Spychalski on Radio Zet.

07:38

Kopcińska:

It would be beneficial for ZNP and other trade unions, absent from Friday's meeting, to decide to attend
- This needs to be discussed, which is why this first debate already showed the differences even within the communities focused around schools. Teachers speak differently on certain issues, while students, parents, or experts speak differently. The best solutions need to be developed so that there are no further comments later saying, 'Oh, these are not the proposals we were waiting for.' It would be beneficial for ZNP and the other absent [teachers' unions], absent from Friday's meeting, to decide to attend - stated Joanna Kopcińska in an interview with Piotr Gociek on "Sygnały dnia" PR1.

07:43

Kopcińska:

Without the Morawiecki Government's Effectiveness, Around 15,000 Graduates from Over 100 Schools Wouldn't Be Able to Take Their Maturita Exams in May
Had it not been for the effectiveness of Mateusz Morawiecki's government, approximately 15,000 high school graduates from over 100 schools would not have been able to take their maturita exams in May. This is because they would not have been classified. And because the PiS government, Mateusz Morawiecki's government, foresaw the possibility of difficulties arising in some places, we prevented this by introducing legal regulations – stated Joanna Kopcińska in an interview with Piotr Gociek on "Sygnały dnia" PR1.

07:46

Kopcińska on Extended School Year Debate: Let's Not Scare Students or Teachers. I Haven't Heard Such Proposals

- I am not aware of such proposals. I haven't heard anything. Let's not scare students or teachers. I haven't heard of such proposals - stated Joanna Kopcińska in an interview with Piotr Gociek on "Sygnały dnia" PR1, when asked if an extension of the school year was being considered.

07:55

Thun:

I Clearly See How PiS Politicians Detest the European Community, the Supranational Community. They Simply Detest It and Would Gladly Leave It

- Juncker says, please read these words as: I cannot comprehend that someone would want to do this, although I haven't seen a leader of this party for over a decade, but I cannot imagine. Stupidity [in the name of what PiS would withdraw Poland from the EU], egoism, nationalism. There are people who cannot think broadly and into the future, they can only think in a closed, hateful, here-and-now manner. That's what nationalism is, and unfortunately, nationalism and populism have a very loud and clear voice - stated Róża Thun in a conversation with Konrad Piasecki on TVN24's "Rozmowa Piaseckiego". As the PO MEP emphasized, Juncker is an experienced diplomat and his task is to hold the European Union together.

- I am very seriously concerned and I clearly see how PiS politicians detest this European community, this supranational community. They simply detest it and would gladly leave it - she stressed.

07:58

Thun on Miller's Words: One Shouldn't Speak Like That. I Would Interpret Juncker's Statement This Way: I Cannot Imagine Anyone Wanting to Leave the EU
One shouldn't speak like that [as Leszek Miller does]. I consider it a serious statement, which I would interpret this way: I cannot imagine, especially observing what is happening in Great Britain, that anyone would want to leave the EU, because it is the worst thing that can be done to its citizens - stated Róża Thun in an interview with Konrad Piasecki on TVN24's "Rozmowa Piaseckiego".

08:03

Thun on the Eurozone: 'Today We Don't Have This Topic'

- Whether we want to or not, we all voted together, Poles voted in the accession referendum. In that referendum 16 years ago, and it states: the common currency of the EU is the euro. We committed ourselves to joining the euro. And now is a good or bad moment to join the euro. It's a shame that we abandoned this debate about the euro some time ago. We should talk more about the euro all the time. It's not a matter of enthusiasm, but of calculation. Please look at Slovakia, at the Baltic countries. They are not only politically more secure because they are in the eurozone, but they are also financially more stable. However, today there is no point in raising topics that require a great national discussion to be initiated. Today we don't have this topic - stated Róża Thun in an interview with Konrad Piasecki on TVN24's "Piasecki's Conversation".

08:06

Thun:

I think Tusk's return to Polish politics is possible

- I think it is possible [Donald Tusk's return to Polish politics], although he is so cautious in what he says. He is such an outstanding figure on the world political stage right now, and the way he is listened to has developed extraordinarily rapidly in recent years… He has grown immensely, so from the perspective of a very good domestic politician, he is perhaps a very good global politician today – stated Róża Thun in an interview with Konrad Piasecki on TVN24's "Rozmowa Piaseckiego".

08:09

Thun:

Let's notice that Schetyna did exactly what people on the streets wanted, what everyone told us: opposition, go together
I think Grzegorz Schetyna is looking at Poland's interests and sees that Donald Tusk is needed by Poland. Let's notice that Schetyna did exactly what people on the streets wanted, what everyone told us: opposition, go together. Schetyna did it – stated Róża Thun in a conversation with Konrad Piasecki on TVN24's "Piasecki's Conversation".

08:14

Thun:

I deeply regret Zdrojewski's absence from the European Coalition's EP list

- I deeply regret that Bogdan Zdrojewski is not on this list [of the European Coalition for the EP], Bogdan Klich. Indeed, there are a few people missing who I would have wished for - stated Róża Thun in an interview with Konrad Piasecki on TVN24's "Piasecki's Interview".

08:17

Szczerski:

We Maintained National Consensus on EU Membership. We are Euro-enthusiasts and NATO-enthusiasts
- We maintained national consensus around our membership in the European Union. We are euro-enthusiasts and NATO-enthusiasts - said Krzysztof Szczerski in the Trójka Political Salon.

08:24

Szczerski:

Juncker Shattered the European Coalition's Election Narrative. He Stated the Obvious, and in Poland it Became a Sensation that No Party Advocates Leaving the Union.
- Juncker shattered the European Coalition's election narrative. He stated the obvious, and in Poland it became a sensation that no party in Poland advocates leaving the Union. The picture is so heavily distorted by the European Coalition, which is why the interview was so sensational in Poland – said Krzysztof Szczerski in Beata Michniewicz's program on PR3.

08:30

Szczerski:

Signals Indicate President Trump Wants to Meet President Duda; We Maintain Our September 1st Invitation, and We Know It's on President Trump's Calendar
- Confirmation, according to American procedures, can be made 30 days before the visit. The President has planned a stay in the USA in mid-June, where he will continue discussions on business and technology on the West Coast. Signals indicating President Trump's desire to meet President Duda are reaching us. We maintain our invitation for September 1st, and we know it is entered in President Trump's calendar, but by then, the world can turn around four times - said Krzysztof Szczerski on Trójka.

08:31

Miller on 15 Years in the EU: All Positives. No Negatives.

- All positives [on the balance of 15 years of Poland's EU membership]. There are no negatives. We talked about money, but just look at the situation of Polish citizens in Europe. They can travel where they want, take up work where they want, settle where they want – stated Leszek Miller in an interview with Beata Lubecka on Radio Zet.

- One can always say that the [EU funds] could have been used better. But that's no longer an issue for the EU, but for Polish authorities. Both the government and local governments – added the former prime minister.

08:36

Miller:

Juncker May Have Been a Victim of Emotional Overload. If I Hear That Poland Will Never Join the Eurozone and That the Euro is Harmful to Poland, That Essentially Means a Velvet Polexit

- I think Mr. Juncker may have been a victim of some emotional overload [when saying that Poland is not threatened by Polexit]. But why is it unbelievable? I am surprised that Mr. Juncker does not see why it is unbelievable. If I hear that Poland will never join the euro zone and that the euro is something dangerous, very harmful to Poland, then this essentially means a velvet Polexit, because we are obliged to join the euro zone, as it is written in the Accession Treaty. There is no date there, however – stated Leszek Miller in an interview with Beata Lubecka on Radio Zet.

08:40

Miller on Kaczyński's Promises of Adopting the Euro When Poland's Economy Catches Up to the West: 'A Fairy Tale from Moss and Ferns.' Without Joining the Eurozone, We Will Never Reach Germany's Current Level

- This is a fairy tale from moss and ferns [Jarosław Kaczyński's promises that Poland will adopt the euro when its economy catches up to the West]. This is because without joining the [euro]zone, we will never reach the level that Germany has today. Incidentally, tomorrow in Warsaw, Prime Minister Morawiecki is scheduled to meet with the prime ministers of the countries that joined the EU along with us. I am curious how Prime Minister Morawiecki will feel, because seven of the heads of government who will arrive are prime ministers of countries that have joined the euro zone. How will Mr. Morawiecki feel surrounded by wolves bearing the inscription 'euro'? For Mr. Morawiecki, the euro is something dangerous, so wolves bearing the inscription 'euro' will arrive, and as many as 7 out of 10 countries - stated Leszek Miller in an interview with Beata Lubecka on Radio Zet.

10:11

Bosak:

What Unites Us is Criticism of the EU, Not Denial of its Existence – We're Realists. Our Aim in the EP is to Expose the Leftist Roots of Centralism and Eurofederalism
No, no [a vote for Confederation is not a vote for Polexit]. What unites us is criticism of the EU. Not a denial of its existence, because we are realists. Criticism means that after entering the EP, into Polish politics, we intend to do what we have always done, i.e., expose certain leftist roots of this entire ideology of centralism, eurofederalism. We aim to block progress towards this, to block what PiS supported, which backed the Lisbon Treaty. We would not have supported anything like that. We believe it was and is against Polish interests – stated Krzysztof Bosak in an interview with Jacek Prusinowski on Radio Plus.

11:29

Olszewski:

If We Win Parliamentary Elections, We Will Abolish the Emission Fee

- We are staunch supporters of abolishing the emission fee. It would make gasoline cheaper, it would make the lives of our drivers and transport cheaper - stated Mariusz Witczak at a briefing in Warsaw. - If we win the parliamentary elections in the autumn, we will certainly abolish this fee, as it is draining taxpayers' pockets without any justification - added Paweł Olszewski.

11:51

WKK on the Round Table at the National Stadium: A Farce and an Attempt to Humiliate the President
- Today is a time for talks. For talks to commence as soon as possible, but the government must have good will, and it is not showing that good will - stated Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz in an interview with Piotr Witwicki on Polsat News' "Polityczne Graffiti". - In the [educational] round table, those who protested, teachers, trade unions, and the Social Dialogue Council (RDS) are not present. If "Solidarity" is attending as an observer, then who are we supposed to talk to there, who are we supposed to be a partner to? This is a farce at the National Stadium. It is an attempt to humiliate the president, because his offer at the Belvedere and the RDS formula with Dorota Gardias were not accepted. This solution was rejected, and the National Stadium was chosen in order to move away from a format where trade unionists have more influence on what happens during the deliberations - added the leader of PSL.

12:17

Brejza:

Three Years Ago, Kaczyński Announced He Commissioned New EU Treaties. We Demand Their Disclosure
Three years ago, Jarosław Kaczyński announced that he had commissioned the creation of new EU treaties. Kaczyński's treaties, treaties reforming the EU, were supposed to be created. We, as the Civic Platform, approached both the Chancellery of the Prime Minister and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and a few weeks ago we received information that there are no Kaczyński treaties – stated Krzysztof Brejza at a briefing in the Sejm.

Either these treaties are being created behind closed doors, certainly not with the participation of the President of the European Commission, but perhaps they are being consulted with Mr. Salvini. Perhaps these are European treaties, or perhaps they are treaties of the Eurasian Union, a new idea of Eurosceptics, or perhaps we are dealing not with PiS treaties, but with a trick, with Jarosław Kaczyński's lie. We demand the disclosure of these treaties and an answer as to why the public, Poles, are being misled – he added. – Where are Kaczyński's treaties, Mr. President Kaczyński? – asked the Civic Platform MP.

PMM, PAD, Szydło, Kukiz, Ziobro, Kaczyński, and Jaki Lead Polish Politicians' Trust Survey by CBM Indicator

Andrzej Duda enjoys the highest level of trust among politicians – according to a survey on trust in politicians in Poland prepared by CBM Indicator. Mateusz Morawiecki and Beata Szydło are in the following positions. Patryk Jaki, Jarosław Kaczyński, and Zbigniew Ziobro also hold high ranks.

We are attaching the latest results of the survey on trust in politicians in Poland. The study was conducted by CBM Indicator using the CAWI method (online survey) from April 26-28, 2019, on a representative sample of N=1014 adult residents of Poland (internet users).

As highlighted in the announcement, the INDICATOR Research Center is one of the longest-operating research agencies in Poland. It has existed since 1990. INDICATOR is a member of the Organization of Market and Opinion Research Companies (OFBOR), holds certificates from the Interviewer Work Quality Control Program (PKJPA), and bases its operations on international ESOMAR standards.

13:56

Kaczyński:

I Just Learned the 13th Pension is Already Arriving in Accounts. This is the Start of Raising Pensions in Poland

- I just learned that the support program for pensioners, this 13th pension, is already starting to arrive in accounts. It's modest support, I admit that, but these are today's possibilities, but I believe it's important for many of you, Polish pensioners and disability pensioners. This is support that is simultaneously part, one could say the beginning, of a program to raise pensions in Poland along with the increasing possibilities of the state, increasing capabilities. Let's hope these possibilities will increase, and quickly, or at least fairly quickly - stated Jarosław Kaczyński in Krakow.

14:07

Kaczyński on the Opposition: Today They Claim it's Handouts, But it's Not Handouts. It's Action for Poland's Development and Justice Simultaneously

- Every election is a competition, and it's worth looking at our competition, our rivals, those we clash with in elections, in campaigns. What was their stance on these large programs, now counted in tens of billions of zlotys? Well, they initially said there was no money and there wouldn't be any. This applied even to the program elements announced in 2015. Later, when it turned out that we could indeed implement these programs, execute them, they began to proclaim that they were too meager, that more should be given, even though the Polish economy and public finances couldn't afford it at the time, because public finances needed to be repaired and the Polish economy needed to grow as quickly as possible. We succeeded in doing that. But our opponents, initially so critical, later fell into a kind of confusion, because, setting aside the course of events over these 3.5 years, today they proclaim on the one hand that it's handouts, but this – and I want to emphasize this very strongly – is not handouts. This is precisely action for the development of Poland and justice at the same time. One could say that we are guided here by heart, because justice and empathy are from the heart, and by reason, because development and pro-development action result from rational thinking. Now, those who opposed this simply have a certain peculiar trait. That is, they simply cannot. To implement our program, one had to be able to repair public finances, lead to accelerated growth, and they simply could not do that - stated Jarosław Kaczyński in Krakow.

14:13

Kaczyński:

They Criticize Our Spending While Promising Even More, Their Logic is Non-Existent
Since we are facing the prospect of elections, the first ones, then the second ones, parliamentary, decisive ones, we must ask: do our opponents possess such qualities? Well, here we can refer to empirical evidence, to how it looked in 2007, at the end of 2007, in November. When we handed over power, public finances were in order, in very good condition. The situation with a deficit above 3%, which is permitted by the EU, was brought under control thanks to the actions of Prime Minister Gilowska. We were below 3%. What happened the following year? Some may say: there was a great crisis then. It only began in the autumn. It reached Poland later. The whole of 2008 was still good, strong economic growth in any case, but public finances immediately worsened, because the very accession to power of those who said that it's not thieves who are to blame, but the police, that it's not abuses that are the fault and crime, but the pursuit of abuses, led to public finances being in great trouble. And so it will be if they come to power. We must realize this. Even if they wanted to, they simply wouldn't be able to control all of this. They are, in various ways, tied to various kinds of pressure groups, I am simply repeating: they are incapable. Thus, regardless of their announcements, and today they say on the one hand that what we are doing is handouts, and on the other hand they announce that they will give away even more. There is no logic in this, but one cannot expect logic from their side - stated Jarosław Kaczyński in Krakow.

14:17

Kaczyński on the Opposition: They Will Take Back What We Gave. They Will Take It Because They Will Have No Other Choice. They Will Take It Because Public Finances Will Once Again Be in a State of Severe Crisis

- As far as facts are concerned, as far as what can be predicted is concerned, it will simply be the case that, to put it as briefly and simply as possible, so that no one has any doubts about what is meant. They will take it back. They will take back what we gave. They will take it back because they will have no other choice. They will take it back because public finances will once again be in a state of severe crisis. All those who plundered these finances will again have the feeling that it is possible again, that the situation has returned to what it was before. So that things are as they were - stated Jarosław Kaczyński in Krakow.

14:22

Kaczyński on the Opposition: This Time, If They Regain Power, They Won't Just Take, But the Violations of Civil Rights Will Be Incomparably Greater. They Are Already Announcing Today That They Will Destroy Democracy
- It will be much worse [than it was if the opposition wins]. In the times of the PO-PSL government, there were many abuses, not only in the area I mentioned. There were acts of violating human rights, violating freedoms. Let's recall: the ABW entering the home of a young man who ran a website that mocked the then-president. It seemed to be called antyKomor or something like that. They entered his home at 6 AM and it ended with that page no longer existing. There were many different attacks on journalists. There was the use of private forces, one could say armed, private security firms, in order to suppress the resistance of people defending their workplaces. There were various types of restrictions concerning the opposition, including the largest opposition party, which is PiS. There were other interferences concerning journalists' activities. There were raids on editorial offices - stated Jarosław Kaczyński in Krakow. - This time, if they regain power, they won't just take, but the violations of civil rights will be incomparably greater. They are already announcing today that they will destroy democracy. Therefore, I believe I have the right and the duty to ask you to go to these elections. These now, the current ones, and the next ones - added the PiS leader.

14:25

Kaczyński:

The 'Leftist' Offensive Against Traditional Values and Common Sense is Coming

- We need to add a certain element here. There will be a breaking of democracy, there will be its destruction. But there will also be a 'leftist' offensive, which can already be seen in many local governments, including here in Krakow. An offensive against traditional values and against common sense. If you want this wave, which is so harmful to Western Europe and is already beginning to harm Poland, to be stopped, to encounter resistance in the EU, in the EU institutions, then it is truly very important that the formation that will oppose this and be able to oppose it, because it already has a great deal of experience in the EU, has a truly large number of MPs there. That formation is PiS - stated Jarosław Kaczyński in Krakow.

Patriotic Picnic in Pułtusk This Saturday with PMM and PJK, Featuring Bayer Full Concert

This coming Saturday, May 4th, a patriotic picnic will take place in Pułtusk, featuring the leader of PiS, Jarosław Kaczyński, and Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki. The event is scheduled to begin at 2:00 PM. The concert by the band Bayer Full is planned for 4:00 PM.

14:40

Szydło:

Today, the PiS government is associated with social programs, primarily family support. I am personally very proud of this.
  • Today, the PiS government is associated with social programs, primarily family support. I am personally very proud of this, because I believe that, thanks to programs like 500+, we have not only provided material support to many Polish families, not only helped where there was real poverty and deprivation, but also shown a new perspective on family. Today, the family is a symbol around which we concentrate all our policy - stated Beata Szydło in Krakow.

14:49

Szydło:

We Kept Our Word and Fulfilled What We Spoke About During the Election Campaign and Even Earlier, When Decisions Harmful to Poles Were Made

- We kept our word and fulfilled what we spoke about during the election campaign and even earlier, when decisions harmful to Poles were made. The first election pledge, even before the elections, when the Sejm of the previous term was working, was a declaration made from the parliamentary rostrum by Prime Minister Kaczyński. Following the adoption of the law to raise the retirement age without social acceptance, without any consultations, to 67 years for women and 67 for men, the chairman then said: if PiS regains power, if we govern in Poland, we will restore the retirement age of 60 years for women and 65 years for men. This is what happened, we kept our word- stated Beata Szydło in Krakow.

15:16

Kaczyński to a person with a disability: Your group will certainly be more supported than it is currently. There's just a request to support us, not hinder us.

During the PiS leader's visit to Krakow, a disabled woman approached Jarosław Kaczyński. A brief exchange of words took place.

- You try to satisfy all groups, but not this one, which has the least ability to get noticed, because disabled people have the least ability to get noticed and exert pressure. Is there any idea for this? - the woman asked.

- There are ideas. Your group will certainly be more supported than it is currently. I cannot agree with you that it is not supported - replied the PiS leader.

The woman tried to obtain a declaration from the leader of Law and Justice regarding support for people with disabilities.

- It's really better if we don't talk on camera, because the point is to use it against us. I assure you. You want things to change, and I want things to change, and they will certainly change. There's just a request to support us, not hinder us - stated Kaczyński.

18:19

Olejniczak:

I'd like Tusk to run for president. He would raise the bar for all other candidates, which is needed in Polish politics today

- It probably still depends on several circumstances. Firstly, what will be the result of the European Coalition in the European Parliament elections. Secondly, what will be the result in the parliamentary elections in the autumn. Then Donald Tusk will decide. Knowing him, he will wait until the very end - said Wojciech Olejniczak in an interview with Marcin Zaborski on RMF FM's "Popołudniowa rozmowa" (Afternoon Conversation), when asked about Donald Tusk's potential run in the presidential elections.

- If you asked me if I would want that. Yes, I would like Donald Tusk to run, because every politician with such immense experience would bring a lot both to the election campaign, but also would raise the bar for all other candidates, which is needed in Polish politics today - Olejniczak added.

18:33

Ochojska to Kaczyński: Why do you want to hide conversations with people with disabilities in the media? The community needs open dialogue, fearing us won't change anything.

- Dear Mr. Kaczyński, why do you want to hide conversations with people with disabilities in the media? The community needs open dialogue; fearing us won't change anything. It's about the dignity of life - Janina Ochojska wrote on Twitter, referring to Jarosław Kaczyński's statement today.

18:45

Kaczyński:

We Don't Expect the EU to Become an Angelic Organization. There is No Angelic Organization on this Earth, in this Vale of Tears

- Poland must be in the European Union. It is a requirement of Polish patriotism to support this presence. We supported it during the referendum, we have supported it throughout this entire period, and we continue to support it. We do not expect the Union to become an angelic organization. There is no angelic organization on this Earth, in this vale of tears full of sin, but we have the right to expect that what was, will return. Sometimes, when what was returns, it is progress. And in this case, it would be progress, an improvement of the situation. What is happening now is obviously harming us. It harms our interests, and not the ideological ones related to our culture, our consciousness, but those that are completely real, economic interests - said Jarosław Kaczyński in Nowy Sącz.

19:13

Hartwich to Kaczyński: You Won't Silence Us, We Will Continue to Protest

- My name is Jakub Hartwich. A year ago, I protested for 40 days, when we asked Jarosław Kaczyński for help, which we did not receive. Today, I would like to address Mr. Jarosław's words. I have a message for him: you will not silence us, we will continue to protest because we want to live with dignity. I invite everyone supporting our protest to Warsaw on May 23rd - stated Jakub Hartwich in a recording published via Facebook.

19:44

Czarzasty:

Timmermans to visit Poland on May 6th. He personally supports Cimoszewicz

- In my opinion, Juncker's statement was ill-considered. As far as our formation is concerned, we are closer to Mr. Timmermans' thinking, whom, by the way, we will be hosting in Poland on May 6th. He will support the Democratic Left Alliance. He supports all forces he deems reasonable. I am satisfied that he supports the SLD. This will be his last visit before the European Parliament elections. He personally supports Włodzimierz Cimoszewicz, and that is why he is coming - said Włodzimierz Czarzasty in an interview with Bogdan Rymanowski on the program "Wydarzenia i Opinie" on Polsat News.

19:50

Czarzasty:

I respect Tusk, it's good he will give a speech. There is no one currently so groundbreaking that anything would break through because of it

- I respect Donald Tusk, it's good that he will give a speech. In my opinion, there is no one currently so groundbreaking that anything would break through because of it - said Włodzimierz Czarzasty in a conversation with Bogdan Rymanowski on the program "Wydarzenia i Opinie" on Polsat News.

19:57

Cymański:

Juncker Said One Thing. Talking About Polexit is Unserious. 90% of Poles Support the EU. We Would Be Utterly..., I Don't Know What, We Would Be Cutting Our Own Throats if We Proposed Such a Ride.

- Juncker said one thing. Talking about Polexit is unserious. Why? Because 90% of Poles are in favor of the European Union. We would be utterly, I don't know what, we would be cutting our own throats if we proposed such a ride. It's not serious - said Tadeusz Cymański in an interview with Bogdan Rymanowski on the program "Wydarzenia i Opinie" on Polsat News.

20:01

President Duda in his address: Anyone attempting to sow unease about our EU membership today acts against Poland's interests. Our goal and task is a modern Poland within a united Europe.
Fifteen years ago, Poland joined the European Union. This was the result of a decision made by the nation in a referendum and the effect of the joint efforts of many people who, acting above political divisions, recognized this as Poland's raison d'état. Membership in the EU has changed many areas of our lives. It has become a challenge for us, but it has also brought us numerous benefits. The opening of borders has provided Poles with additional opportunities. Many Polish companies have succeeded in Europe, and Poland has transformed thanks to the effective use of EU funds. However, none of these achievements would have been possible without the collective effort and hard work of millions of Poles. The opening of borders was not a promise of an easy life. The common market did not mean the abolition of competition, and EU money alone did nothing. It was we who seized our chance well. That is why I want to emphasize with all my might that the success of 15 years of Polish membership in the EU is a great success for all of us – stated President Andrzej Duda in an address delivered on the occasion of the 15th anniversary of Poland's accession to the EU. - After years of isolation behind the Iron Curtain, today we are part of a great European community. We are taking responsibility for its shape and its future. We are the leader of the Three Seas Initiative, which aims at the economic success of Central Europe. We are active in the Visegrad Group, and we cooperate with all European countries. We Poles recognize the challenges facing the EU community, although we often disagree among ourselves in their assessment. On one matter, we are in agreement: Europe is us, the EU is us. We made a historic decision guaranteeing our membership in the EU. Anyone who attempts to sow unease today about our presence in the EU acts against Poland's interests. Our goal and task is a modern Poland within a united Europe. I deeply believe that the idea of building a strong, secure, and just Europe, erected on the foundation of a common identity, will withstand the test of contemporary times and remain a source of prosperity for our homeland. This is what I wish for Poland, Europe, and all of us – emphasized PAD. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XXVdUvlYf4w

Zybertowicz on Tusk: If his ratings aren't very high when the decision to run for president needs to be made, he won't take the risk
- One can expect what he has been doing recently in his tweets. Insinuations. He will insinuate various things. He has also insinuated in one of his tweets that the current authorities can be referred to as Bolsheviks. This is his narrative style. He will try to send signals from which he can retreat at any time - stated Andrzej Zybertowicz in a conversation with Bogdan Rymanowski on the Polsat News program "Wydarzenia i opinie" (Events and Opinions). - I think that if it turns out that when the decision to run for president needs to be made, and his ratings aren't very high, he won't take the risk. He is a cunning politician - he added.

They'll Accidentally Lead Us Out of the Union. The Second Scenario is Being Pushed to the Outer Circle.
- They will accidentally lead us out of the Union. The second scenario is that we will be pushed to the outer circle. At some point, we will be on the absolute periphery - Joanna Mucha said on Kropka nad I.

Zybertowicz on EP Elections: I Believe PiS Will Have a Small Lead. These Elections Won't Decide Anything Definitive, Unless PiS Wins with a Clear Advantage, Which I Don't Rule Out, But It's Quite Unlikely
- I think these [European] elections won't give any unambiguous signal. I believe PiS will have a small lead, but even in the worst-case scenario, if it doesn't win the most seats, the differences will be small. These elections won't decide anything definitively, unless PiS wins with a clear advantage, which I don't rule out, but it's quite unlikely – stated Andrzej Zybertowicz in an interview with Bogdan Rymanowski on the program "Wydarzenia i opinie" on Polsat News.

The Convergence Program Does Not Include the 13th Pension; You Are Not Planning It for the Coming Years
- The 13th pension is not in the convergence program, you are not planning it for the coming years. These are documents sent to Brussels, this expense isn't there, it's electioneering - Joanna Mucha stated on Kropka nad I.

- Currently, the VAT gap is growing; it has stopped decreasing. Where are those VAT mafias you so effectively caught? In some time, it will turn out that these are innocent people - said Joanna Mucha in Kropka nad I.

The European Coalition Quickly Reacts with a Spot to Jarosław Kaczyński’s Words:

In Poland, There is No Room for Contempt. Everyone Deserves Respect.
In Poland, everyone deserves respect. There is no room for contempt. More and more social groups are reduced solely to what is profitable for the government and what is not – says one of the European Coalition’s campaign strategists in an interview with 300POLITYKA, announcing a video spot that is a response to Jarosław Kaczyński’s words today in Krakow concerning people with disabilities. In the clip, the European Coalition also recalls other statements by PiS politicians – Stanisław Karczewski and Jacek Żalek – regarding people with disabilities who protested in the Sejm a year ago. 300POLITYKA is the first to publish the spot. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=COOClb0PC34

Hey Platform, What's Up With This Contempt? We Remind You.

The Law and Justice party (PiS) has responded to the European Commission's meeting and reminded of Grzegorz Schetyna's words about the "PiS locusts." The official PiS account on Twitter shared a video with the caption: "Hey Platform, what's up with this contempt? We remind you." The accompanying video features snippets of Grzegorz Schetyna's earlier statements, in which he referred to the Law and Justice party as "PiS locusts" and accused them of "destroying everything." The video also includes footage from a meeting with European Commission officials, seemingly implying that the Civic Platform (PO) maintains a hostile stance towards Poland, despite their rhetoric. The purpose of this communication is clearly to highlight what PiS perceives as hypocrisy and a double standard from their political opponents, suggesting that PO's criticism of the European Commission is inconsistent with their past derogatory remarks about PiS. This move by PiS appears to be a strategic attempt to discredit the Civic Platform and rally support by portraying them as unpatriotic and opportunistic.
