At 8:30 AM, a press conference will be held by Warsaw's Law and Justice (PiS) party regarding the filing of a report to the prosecutor's office concerning the so-called "bus affair." Sebastian Kaleta, Paweł Lisiecki, and PiS councillors from Warsaw will participate in the conference.
Thursday marks the first day of the session for both chambers of the Polish parliament. The Sejm (lower house) will commence its proceedings at 10:00 AM, with the Senate (upper house) starting an hour later. The second item on the Senate's agenda is the government's bill, adopted by the Sejm, which introduces a one-time benefit for pensioners and disability pensioners, the so-called "thirteenth pension."
The Marshal of the Senate will hold a press conference at 10:00 AM. Simultaneously, the parliamentary investigative committee for VAT fraud will begin hearing testimony from Tomasz Michalak, former director at the Ministry of Finance.
At 11:00 AM in the Sejm, the second reading of the PiS-submitted bill to reduce the copper tax by 15% will take place. The reduction of this tax was one of the conditions set by the Non-Partisan Local Government Officials and was included in the coalition agreement with PiS. The entire bill may be adopted during tomorrow's voting block between 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM.
At 10:30 AM, a briefing is scheduled at the Ministry of National Education with Minister Anna Zalewska, Deputy Minister Maciej Kopeć, and the Director of the Central Examination Board, Marcin Smolik. Today is the fourth day of the indefinite teachers' strike and the second day of the gimnazjum (middle school) exams.
At 12:00 PM, Patryk Jaki will hold a press conference in Krakow. At 1:00 PM in Nowy Sącz, Minister Joachim Brudziński will hand over a new helicopter to the Border Guard. At 1:45 PM in Warsaw, the Mazovian electoral staff of the European Coalition (KKW Koalicja Europejska) will hold a press conference preceding the submission of the coalition's candidate lists for the European Parliament. Later, at 7:00 PM in the capital, President Andrzej Duda will meet with the foreign ministers of the Berlin Process.
At 1:00 PM, the parliamentary committee on constitutional responsibility will – traditionally in a closed session – return to evaluating the evidence gathered in the preliminary motion to bring Krzysztof Kwiatkowski, President of the Supreme Audit Office, to constitutional responsibility before the State Tribunal.

Dworczyk:
We Should Also Appeal to ZNP Activists Pressuring Teachers Who Are Not Striking and Are Conducting Exams
07:37
- I don't know that. However, one thing is certain. With their actions, many representatives of ZNP, and certainly chairman Broniarz, give reason for such speculation - said Michał Dworczyk in an interview with Eliza Olczyk on "Poranek" of Polish Radio 24.
07:55
Schetyna:
The Claim That the Teachers' Strike Was Concocted in My Office is Insulting
08:00
Schetyna:
Teachers Should Continue Striking, as the Rulers Listen to No One
- I would tell them [the rulers] quite directly that if they cannot handle this strike, this protest, if they do not engage in talks, if they only pretend to talk, if they humiliate teachers, as in the context of Kaczyński's statements in Kadzidło and 'Krowa plus' and 'Tucznik plus', because it is an attempt at humiliation, then I would tell the rulers: if you cannot manage such a strike, if you do not want to talk to the protesters, then resign - stated Grzegorz Schetyna in an interview with Konrad Piasecki on TVN24's "Rozmowa Piaseckiego".
- Unfortunately, yes [teachers should continue striking], because the rulers listen to no one. They talk about the reaction of the rulers, that they listen to no one, and that's why I'm referring to it. I think we underestimate the determination that exists in the community, because this strike is truly widespread. I don't remember such a widespread strike - added the Civic Platform (PO) leader.
- I recall how talks with protesting disabled people and their families were conducted, or rather, feigned, in the Sejm, how they were detained in order to limit the protest. I saw and I see the same policy from the rulers. It is a policy of confrontation and contempt - he continued.

Schetyna:
We Haven't Yet Decided Who Will Be Prime Minister Candidate. I'm Not Predetermining Who Will Form the Coalition
- I don't know [who will be the opposition's candidate for Prime Minister]. It depends on whether we win the election. We haven't decided on this yet [who will be the candidate in the campaign]. I'm not predetermining who will form the coalition we'll run in the election with. But I am optimistic. I'm not predetermining that the person designated by the largest party in the coalition, which might be Civic Platform, will be the candidate for Prime Minister and the Prime Minister of the future government - stated Grzegorz Schetyna in an interview with Konrad Piasecki on TVN24's "Rozmowa Piaseckiego".
08:10
Rulewski:
Platforma Went Too Far Including PRL Officials on Its Lists. I Cannot Continue My Mission in the PO Club. I'm Leaving Today.
- The coalition is a fundamental challenge for me. It is a good political move for all those who want to defeat PiS today, perhaps even Kukiz or Wiosna. But for me, for a man on whom history has passed judgment, and that history said that communism, as an agent institution of Moscow, must be fought, and that communism as a negation of the expectations and imagination of Poles. It also passed judgment on me. I cannot support such a coalition - said Jan Rulewski in an interview with Piotr Witwicki in "Graffiti" Polsat News.
- Now these PZPR officials are smuggling in the values they so persistently defended. They are smuggling them into the coalition. While I accept that people can have left-wing views, and can even be in the SLD, I still believe that Platforma has gone too far by including officials of that state [PRL] on its lists, which is why I cannot hand out leaflets for Mr. Zemke - the senator continued.
- This is a parting. Brexit and Polexit are fashionable today. Rulexit is also possible. I cannot continue my mission, not so much within party structures, because I am not a party member, but within the PO club. I am leaving today, but I am not parting ways, because Platforma has brought many positive elements to Poland - added Rulewski.
08:12
Schetyna:
We Will Present Our Own Social Policy Project in September
- We will present a whole package that will have to fit within the budgetary framework of the part that exists now - stated Grzegorz Schetyna in an interview with Konrad Piasecki on TVN24's "Rozmowa Piaseckiego".
- Then [after the European elections] we will present the entire social policy plan, the 500+ program in every dimension. We will present it honestly before the autumn elections - he added.
- We will present specific provisions regarding every project that is currently being implemented and that is not being implemented. We will present our own social policy project and we will do it in September of this year, before the October elections - emphasized the PO chairman.
08:22
Schetyna:
I Cannot Vote Against If Money is Allocated to Those Who Need It, i.e., Pensioners and Disability Pensioners
08:26
Schetyna:
Civic Platform and European Coalition are not populist groups, so I won't be drawn into a bidding war of 'Kaczyński wants this much, and Schetyna will outbid him'
- After the elections, when building or amending the budget for 2020, we will have knowledge of the possibilities of public finances. I am a responsible politician. I am not a populist. Civic Platform, the European Coalition are not populist groups, which is why I will not be drawn into a bidding war and convinced that Kaczyński wants this much, and Schetyna will outbid him, because that is absurd, it's a path to nowhere - stated Grzegorz Schetyna in an interview with Konrad Piasecki on TVN24's "Rozmowa Piaseckiego".
08:29
Schetyna:
Tusk's Voice Will Be Very Important
- His [Donald Tusk's] voice will be very important, his role. I don't want to anticipate him. We agreed, because it was such a good conversation also about high politics, about the future, and I believe there is a huge opportunity. I sincerely urge him not to stay on the sidelines, but to also engage with support for those who want and are fighting for Poland's presence and sovereign presence in Europe. Donald Tusk is like that - stated Grzegorz Schetyna in an interview with Konrad Piasecki on TVN24's "Rozmowa Piaseckiego".
08:33
- I proposed to Bogdan Zdrojewski that he run in the Sejm elections, that he lead the Wrocław list, which is special to me because he always achieves excellent results there. That conversation was a few weeks ago. The fact that I managed to convince Janina Ochojska to be the European Coalition's representative in Lower Silesia and Opole, and to show, in a good understanding and view of public affairs, how much she differs from Anna Zalewska, who is her competitor, is like how much the EC list differs from the PiS list - stated Grzegorz Schetyna in an interview with Konrad Piasecki on TVN24's "Rozmowa Piaseckiego". He added that he hasn't discussed the lists with Donald Tusk, as that matter is closed.
- It is a tradition that the party leader always runs in Warsaw, and everything indicates that I will still be the leader of the Civic Platform party in these elections, and I am considering the option of running against Kaczyński in Warsaw - added the PO chairman.
08:43
Zalewska:
I Try Not to Comment on Trade Union Statements Because My Duty is to Calm Emotions
- I try not to comment on trade union statements because my duty is to calm various kinds of emotions. I respect the decision to strike, but now I must, or we must, be with the children, the exams, and here too, a big nod and respect, because you asked me, thanks to whom these exams are happening. It's precisely thanks to the people who signed up or declared their support for school principals. I am very grateful to them, and above all, the children and parents are grateful. We still have 7,000 people in the curatoria's database. We invite everyone; tomorrow will be a more difficult day for us because it's the foreign language exam, and we will need more commissions. Everything is prepared - stated Anna Zalewska in an interview with Dorota Łosiewicz on TVP1's "Political Quarter Hour".
08:56
- I very much ask the trade unions that have not signed the agreement to sit down at the table and sign a truly good agreement, where huge raises appear within two years – stated Anna Zalewska in an interview with Dorota Łosiewicz on TVP1's "Political Quarter Hour".
09:04
- Of course they will receive [the 13th pension], but today the debate is in the Senate. I believe this bill will not return to the Sejm, but nothing can be ruled out. If this bill is voted on and adopted by the Senate, and I am deeply convinced that it will be, we will wait for the president's signature, and the first payments will likely be made on the last day, April 30, to those pensioners and disability pensioners who would receive their benefit on May 1. Since May 1 is a public holiday, they will receive their benefit of 888 zlotys a little earlier - stated Elżbieta Rafalska in an interview with Piotr Gociek on "Sygnały dnia" PR1.
09:30
Grupiński:
Shifting Responsibility for Exams onto Teachers, Who Began Collective Dispute with the Government on January 10th, is False. The Prime Minister Still Hasn't Found Time for Them.
"Shifting the responsibility [for exams] onto teachers, who began a collective dispute with the government on January 10th, is false, because the government is responsible for the situation, having been unable to talk with teachers for several months. The Prime Minister still hasn't found time for teachers to this day" - said Rafał Grupiński from Civic Platform (PO) in an interview with Beata Lubecka on Radio Zet.
"The trade unions wanted this, the teachers wanted this. On numerous occasions, including through me as the chairman of the Committee on Education, Science and Youth, the unions have asked the Prime Minister for a meeting. I sent a special letter to the Prime Minister on this matter" - he added.
09:35
Grupiński:
The Real Cause of the Teachers' Strike is President Kaczyński and His Way of Governing the Country
"The real cause of the teachers' strike is President Jarosław Kaczyński, his way of governing the country. Irresponsibility regarding the issue of education, failing to see this problem for several years while Jarosław Kaczyński has been in power, and that is the true reason. Mr. Sasin should not look for these causes within the opposition" - said Rafał Grupiński from Civic Platform in an interview with Beata Lubecka on Radio Zet.
09:44
Kidawa-Błońska:
It's good that young people are taking exams, as they should pass them on time. We cannot stress young people
- It's very good that young people are taking exams, because they should pass them on time. We cannot stress young people. For this, I thank both teachers, local governments, and school principals for organizing these exams and for the fact that these exams are proceeding - said Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska in a conversation with Jacek Prusinowski in Radio Plus's "Sedno Sprawy" (The Core of the Matter).
09:46
"We must get to the truth about Smolensk," "We must establish the truth," "Final revelation of the truth" - The European Coalition, in its new spot that 300POLITYKA is publishing first, on the day after the 9th anniversary of the Smolensk disaster, recalls statements by President Kaczyński from subsequent monthly commemorations.
The Coalition juxtaposes these with exhumations and the ruling of the European Court of Human Rights, which sided with families who opposed the examination of their loved ones' bodies.
The spot concludes with a statement from Marshal Stanisław Karczewski, who, when asked what new information he had learned about the disaster after 4 years, replies, "If I say I haven't learned anything new, that will be in line with the truth."

09:53
- I understand, because for many people, the fact that the coalition is so broad is a surprise. But it was the realization of Poles' expectations - Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska said in a conversation with Jacek Prusinowski in "Sedno Sprawy" on Radio Plus.
- I hope that Mr. Rulewski, for whom freedom and Poland's matters are truly very important, I am convinced that he will not leave Platforma after all. He expressed his opinion, he has the right to, but the coalition's strength is of great significance - added Kidawa-Błońska.

Broniarz:
We are ready to talk with the government, but based on new assumptions regarding salary increases
- The ZNP has sent a letter to the Prime Minister [Beata Szydło], expressing readiness for a meeting, and at the same time requesting in writing that the Prime Minister present new proposals for the teaching community, because only in such a case does the meeting make any sense - stated Sławomir Broniarz at a briefing. - We are ready to talk with the government, but based on new assumptions regarding salary increases - emphasized the ZNP president.

We Are Establishing a Strike Fund
- In accordance with the resolution of the Main Board Secretariat, we are establishing a strike fund, and we will discuss this matter in the context of establishing a citizens' committee that could support the union's actions in this regard. We invite you to the CNK at 12:30 for a meeting and inauguration - stated Sławomir Broniarz at a briefing.
10:12
Broniarz:
Anti-Teacher, Anti-Strike Actions are Growing
- I must inform you that anti-teacher and anti-strike actions are intensifying. Education superintendents have begun, contrary to the law, to collect information including the names of teachers participating in the strike action. Every principal has been obligated to provide a named list of individuals who are withholding their labor. This has the hallmarks of bullying, harassment, and an attempt to intimidate the teaching community, and we are appealing to the Minister to cease these types of actions through the superintendents – stated Sławomir Broniarz at a briefing.

June 4th - Solemn Senate Session. PO Senators Asked to Reschedule. Despite Our Parliamentary Majority, We Cannot Change the Calendar.
„Today we had a Convention of Seniors. We discussed an important date for Poland and for the Senate, June 4th. On that day, we have a very important meeting, a solemn session of the Senate in the Column Hall, because it is the place where the first sessions of the Senate were held. We will have speeches from the President, the Prime Minister, the Marshal of the Sejm, and myself. PO Senators asked to change the schedule. We cannot change the calendar, even though we have a majority in parliament” - said the Marshal of the Senate, Stanisław Karczewski, at a press conference.
10:44
Zalewska:
All Schools Participated in Exams. Even in Schools Where There Were Problems Yesterday, Exams Are Also Being Conducted
- We have already completed the first part of the exams, and it was another very good day. All schools participated in the exams. Even in schools where there were problems yesterday, exams are also being conducted. We sincerely thank the principals, superintendents, and voivodes for organizing the work. We thank the volunteers who are present at the exams. The number of volunteers is growing; at this moment, it is already 8,000 – said Anna Zalewska during a press conference.
10:44
„Please read the entire text of Senator Bierecki’s speech. A fragment torn out of context can be misleading. I contacted him and familiarized myself with the speech. He spoke of reconciliation and building community. This fragment, taken out of context, completely changes the nature of his statement. Please familiarize yourselves with the full content” - said the Marshal of the Senate, Stanisław Karczewski, at a press conference.
10:44
Karczewski:
If teachers decided to strike, they did so consciously, understanding they won't be paid for days not worked
„If teachers have made such a decision [to strike], then they have likely done so consciously, understanding that for the period in which they are not working, they will not receive remuneration, unless it is obtained from other sources. The most important thing in this dispute are the children. We should primarily care for the children. I appeal and very much ask the teachers to remember the children, because it is the children who are getting nervous, they don't know if there will be exams, if they will be graded, if the children will receive a grade. We cannot act this way towards children. I am observing very closely what is happening in our education system. I would very much like this dispute to end and for the teachers to return. Not only because I have five grandchildren who are not attending school, but for them to return to work and focus on what is important for them and for us” – said the Marshal of the Senate, Stanisław Karczewski, at a press conference.
10:45
„I will be hated and criticized again because I once said, during the dispute with residents, that one should work for an idea. I worked for an idea, I work for an idea, and I will continue to work for an idea, and for children, we should work even more so” – said the Marshal of the Senate, Stanisław Karczewski, at a press conference.
10:59
Zalewska:
I am calm, youth will be graded, and I hope the matriculation exams will proceed without problems
- Regarding the progress of matriculation exams or the councils that will grade students, I joyfully accept the words of Mr. President Broniarz, who recommends entirely different behavior. I am calm, youth will be graded, and I hope the matriculation exams will proceed without problems - Anna Zalewska stated during a press conference.

If Karczewski Fails to Act, I Will File a Complaint with the Senate Ethics Committee Regarding Bierecki's Remarks

The Law and Justice (PiS) parliamentary club has put forward Wojciech Sych as a candidate for the position of judge at the Constitutional Tribunal, following the conclusion of Sławomira Wronkowska-Jaśkiewicz's term. Sych currently serves as a judge in the Criminal Chamber of the Supreme Court. Today, a parliamentary print document appeared on the Sejm's website. The election, according to the schedule, will take place during the current Sejm session, but not before the holidays, on April 25th, within a voting block scheduled between 6:15 PM and 8:15 PM.

„We would like to emphasize very clearly that the words of the PiS senator are unacceptable and should never have been uttered by a politician or anyone holding public office. Talking about purging Poland of people who are not worthy of belonging to our national community evokes associations with the worst times of the last century, when national affiliation decided life or death. It is precisely such words that build a climate of hatred in our country. Bierecki talks about purging Poland of the unworthy, Kaczyński about those spreading parasites, and then they wonder why someone would call them fascists” – stated Kamila Gasiuk-Pihowicz from PO-KO at a press conference.
„Senator Bierecki, explaining his disgraceful and rascally behavior, spoke of context, saying that we don't know the context. He uttered it as a public official during official state holiday celebrations, accompanied by a soldier in the background. That was the context. Bierecki's behavior, for me, directly connects with the behavior that can be seen on the internet when a Warsaw driver tries to beat up a Ukrainian driver on the street. I see a direct link between the incitement to hatred by high public officials and the behavior of intimidated people encouraged to such aggressive behavior. I expect PiS to remove Senator Bierecki from their ranks today. We demand it” – added Sławomir Nitras from PO.
PO-KO plans to file a report with the prosecutor's office regarding the possibility of Bierecki committing a crime, consisting of propagating fascist ideology.

"I would like to thank all teachers and those who support them in conducting the exams, who are constantly at work with their students. Once again, you have passed this beautiful exam of responsibility for students. The fact that today the youth could peacefully take another exam is very important for these young people and for all of us, because there is no more important matter at the moment, also for the government, than conducting the exams peacefully," said Deputy Prime Minister Beata Szydło at a press conference in Nowy Sącz.
15:26
Szydło:
We Invite You to Sign an Agreement and to a Round Table Discussion
„We invite you to sign an agreement and to the second part of this agreement, which is a round table discussion on how to build a new social contract for teachers to guarantee pay rises” - said Deputy Prime Minister Beata Szydło at a press conference in Nowy Sącz.

EC Positively Assesses Our Economic and Social Model, Which Has Eliminated Child Poverty and Integrated Marginalized Groups into Mainstream Society
- Today we have many signs that confirm the correctness of our path, because the level of economic growth is one of the highest in Europe, and even higher in the world. The level of inequality is falling, as measured by, for example, the Gini coefficient. Oxfam, one of the most well-known organizations globally, which defines the relationships between economic and social policy and their effectiveness among 157 countries, has ranked our social policy first. The European Commission speaks very positively about our economic model, our social model, which has allowed us to eliminate child poverty and has led to many social groups, previously on the fringes, often referred to in the West as the precariat, beginning to function within the mainstream of economic and social life - stated Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki at the Constitutional Tribunal, delivering a lecture titled "Democratic Capitalism for All, Not for the Few."
16:25
Biedroń:
This Government Disdains People, It's Evident. I Get the Impression PJK is a Man Who Feels the Greatest Satisfaction When He Disdains and Humiliates People
- When it's necessary to promise farmers pipe dreams and mirages, that there will be subsidies for cows and pigs. We know that these subsidies are as reliable as writing on water. Jarosław Kaczyński makes these kinds of promises. When it's necessary to look after standards for teachers, they all cower and bury their heads in the sand. This government disdains people, it's evident. It disdains teachers, yesterday it disdained nurses, it disdained people with disabilities. Who will be next? What social group will be a victim of Jarosław Kaczyński's government? Because I get the impression Jarosław Kaczyński is a man who feels the greatest satisfaction when he disdains and humiliates people - said Robert Biedroń during a special address.

We Intend to Grant Raises So That Diplomaed Teachers' Salaries Reach Sejm Deputy Levels. We Don't Complain About Our Earnings, They Are Decent
- We have been systematically granting these raises since 2017 and we intend to continue them so that by 2021, which I believe is possible, the salaries of diplomaed teachers, which constitute half of all teachers in Poland, will reach the level of salaries of a Sejm deputy of the Republic of Poland. We do not complain about our earnings, they are decent. Finally, teachers will be rewarded with dignity, and we guarantee this. On the other hand, our opponents who promise the moon are not credible - said Jarosław Sellin in an interview with Marcin Zaborski on RMF FM's "Popołudniowa rozmowa".
18:22
Sellin:
I'll Organize My Sixth Election Campaign Myself. When I Was Deputy Minister Before, There Was No Emptying Drawers or Farewells, Because That's a Politician's Normal Life
- I will organize my sixth election campaign myself, and I assure you that when I previously held the position of Deputy Minister of Culture and National Heritage, there was no emptying of drawers or farewells, because that's a politician's normal life – said Jarosław Sellin in a conversation with Marcin Zaborski on RMF FM's "Afternoon Conversation".
18:28
- Firstly, he apologized because he used phrasing that, when taken out of context – I emphasize – can be misunderstood, perhaps as you understood it, perhaps as American media understood it. However, neither you nor I heard the entire statement. Senator Bierecki explains today in an interview that it was in the context of holding accountable those who were responsible for the Smolensk catastrophe, as it was a commemorative speech on the anniversary of the Smolensk catastrophe. He was referring to people who erred and were not held accountable for that catastrophe, and he spoke in that context. Perhaps using not the most appropriate words - Jarosław Sellin said in a conversation with Marcin Zaborski on RMF FM's "Popołudniowa rozmowa" (Afternoon Talk).

Of Course, Money for Teachers Should Be Found, But Between 'Should' and 'Can' Lies the Question of Possibility
- Of course, the money should be found. Not just for teachers, for many others. But between 'should' and 'can' lies the question of possibility. I think, for over three years now, we as PiS have been implementing a policy of filling various terrible gaps, shortages, and irregularities that have accumulated over many years – said Konstanty Radziwiłł in an interview with Dorota Gawryluk on the program "Wydarzenia i Opinie" (Events and Opinions) on Polsat News.
19:41
Radziwiłł:
If Someone Dies in a Chair, Waiting in Line at the ER, It's Primarily a Failure of Those on Site
- In my opinion, it's a matter of professionalism, it's a matter of commitment to this work. I believe that if someone dies in a chair, waiting in line at the ER, it is primarily a failure of those who are there on the spot. This is not a train station where someone simply fell asleep out of forgetfulness and is no longer alive - said Konstanty Radziwiłł in an interview with Dorota Gawryluk on the program "Wydarzenia i Opinie" (Events and Opinions) on Polsat News.

Unpaid Teacher Salaries Can Be Paid Out as Bonuses Within 3 Months
- We will do everything to compensate [teachers], because indeed one cannot be paid for the time of a strike. However, we have made a decision, together with the city council, that these funds will remain in schools. In short, the money that will not be paid out to teachers will be able to be paid out by principals as bonuses within 3 months. They will end up in teachers' wallets - stated Rafał Trzaskowski in an interview with Grzegorz Kajdanowicz on TVN24's "Fakty po faktach".
20:11
Trzaskowski:
This is always PiS's tactic: primarily fear and playing for time
- This is always PiS's tactic, meaning primarily fear and playing for time. We've seen this with caregivers of disabled people, with resident doctors. Prolonging this conflict primarily to weaken the incredible determination of those who are striking and to try to intimidate them. We received signals of this kind from school principals – that they were called by the education authorities and threatened with being fired – stated Rafał Trzaskowski in a conversation with Grzegorz Kajdanowicz on TVN24's "Fakty po faktach".

- We are waiting for the court's ruling, because there is no doubt that these [Smoleńsk] monuments were erected in violation of the law. However, I have always said, and I will repeat it today, before the campaign and now, I am certainly not a person who would want to be remembered for demolishing monuments. I wouldn't want a battle over monuments. We will wait for the court's ruling - stated Rafał Trzaskowski in an interview with Grzegorz Kajdanowicz on TVN24's "Fakty po faktach".

Is it perhaps such a weak, excuse me, leg of this coalition and has nothing to say? – said Joanna Kopcińska in an interview with Danuta Holecka on the TVP Info program "Gość Wiadomości".

Szydło:
Let's Sign an Agreement! End the Strike, Let's Talk
Szydło: Let's Sign an Agreement! End the Strike, Let's Talk
Prime Minister Beata Szydło appealed to the striking teachers to reach an agreement and end the protest. She emphasized the need for dialogue and finding solutions that will benefit all parties involved.
"I call on the teachers to sign the agreement offered by the government. We have presented a comprehensive proposal that addresses your demands. It is time to end the strike and return to the negotiating table in a calm and constructive atmosphere," Szydło stated in a press conference.
The Prime Minister also stressed that the government is open to further discussions and is willing to consider additional solutions within the available budget. "We understand the importance of education and the role of teachers in shaping the future of our country. We are committed to finding a mutually acceptable solution," she added.
The ongoing teachers' strike has caused significant disruption to the education system, with many schools remaining closed and classes canceled. The teachers are demanding higher salaries and improved working conditions.
Szydło's appeal comes as negotiations between the government and teacher unions have been ongoing for several weeks, with limited progress. The Prime Minister expressed hope that her call for an agreement will lead to a breakthrough and a swift resolution to the dispute.
"Let's put an end to this difficult situation. Let's sign the agreement and let's talk about how we can further improve the education system together," Szydło concluded.

PKO BP's lead over the second-ranked bank in the ranking stands at a significant PLN 20 billion.
PKO Bank Polski is the largest bank in Poland and the most valuable company on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
It also holds a considerable advantage in corporate banking. PKO BP serves over 15,000 corporate clients and nearly 500,000 smaller businesses, with the total value of financing for all types of economic entities exceeding 100 billion Polish zlotys. According to the bank's calculations, the difference between PKO BP and the next bank in the ranking is a substantial PLN 20 billion.
"The bank finances significant investments, engages in recovery processes, and supports the development of companies, consistently solidifying its image as the most important partner for Polish entrepreneurship," emphasizes Jakub Papierski, Vice-President of PKO Bank Polski overseeing the Corporate and Investment Banking Area. "Surpassing the PLN 100 billion threshold in receivables from economic entities is a symbolic level that perfectly corresponds with the bank's centenary jubilee celebrated this year," he adds.
According to the bank, the 100 billion zlotys in granted financing comprises nearly PLN 70 billion in loans, PLN 17 billion in leasing, almost PLN 15 billion in municipal bonds, and over PLN 1 billion in factoring limits.
The dominant theme in PKO BP's development strategy, including corporate banking, is the digital transformation of both internal banking processes and customer services. To this end, the bank collaborates with startups and develops mobile channels and advanced data analytics.
PKO Bank Polski's brokerage house is also a leader in its market segment. In 2018, the value of executed turnovers exceeded PLN 33 billion, representing 7.7% of market turnover and placing it in second place in the brokerage house rankings.
In terms of bond trading, the brokerage house accounts for nearly half of the market's turnover, translating to a leading position. At the end of 2018, PKO BP's brokerage house managed approximately 130,000 securities accounts and nearly 200,000 registry accounts.
