WKK:

There is no rebellion in the PSL. It's being fabricated by PiS politicians

- There is no rebellion [in the PSL]. It's a normal discussion within the party. Not everyone is probably satisfied with all the decisions, but apart from the leader of Bayer Full, perhaps two individuals who left the PSL due to his family in Płock County, there are no departures or rebellions. This is, of course, being fabricated by PiS politicians. Their concern is manifesting in this way - stated Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz in an interview with Konrad Piasecki on TVN24's "Rozmowa Piaseckiego".

07:57

WKK on the European Coalition: I Can Imagine a Common Program for the EP Elections

- For the European elections, because that's what we've agreed on for now. Here, I can imagine, precisely for these elections, such a common program. Firstly, the fight for the highest possible budget for Poland. Many have spoken about it, but some know how to do it. We negotiated, when we were in power and had strong representation in the EPP, together with Platforma Obywatelska, the largest budget, PLN 400 billion for Poland from the European budget – stated Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz in an interview with Konrad Piasecki on TVN24's "Rozmowa Piaseckiego".

- Another issue – renewable energy sources and uniform subsidies across the entire EU. Unification of agricultural subsidies, the issue of young people and their start in life. There are so many common points. Of course, there are differences within the European Coalition, and there will be, but one can differ beautifully – added the leader of PSL.

08:04

WKK on the LGBT+ Declaration: 'I Wouldn't Sign That Card. It Seems to Me to Be a Mistake, Especially at This Time'

- First of all, in Warsaw, it was Rafał Trzaskowski's program [signing the LGBT+ declaration]. He gained voter acceptance. We had our candidate; he didn't have that in his program. We also don't have representatives on the Warsaw City Council. Of course, with freedom of worldview, because in the PSL there are also different opinions, and on the topic of in vitro, there were different opinions, and on abortion - stated Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz in an interview with Konrad Piasecki on TVN24's "Rozmowa Piaseckiego".

- I wouldn't sign that [LGBT+] card, especially also in this pre-election period. Aleksander Hall also spoke about this. It seems to me to be a mistake, especially at this time, because it provokes very strong worldview emotions. We already have a Polish-Polish political war; imposing a worldview war on top of that is nothing good. But in the PSL, just as it should be in the European Coalition, worldview matters are an individual matter, not even of a political formation, but of each person creating individual political formations - added the PSL leader. As he emphasized, he himself is in favor of sex education.

WKK:

We Have No Problem Supporting 500+ for Every Child, But Political Cooperation with PiS is Out of the Question

- I cannot imagine [alliances with PiS]. We stated it directly: good projects, social projects, we have no problem supporting 500+ for every child, because, by the way, we supported it even before PiS wanted to propose such a project, two years ago. Back then, 226 PiS MPs were against it, or pensions. We believe we should go a step further, pensions should be tax-free because it's a systemic solution, but political cooperation [with PiS] is out of the question - stated Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz in an interview with Konrad Piasecki on TVN24's "Rozmowa Piaseckiego".

08:12

WKK on Partnership Unions: "For now, there is no bill I could vote for. I would certainly not support equating partnership unions with marriage."
- Barbara Nowacka has not discussed this topic [of partnership unions] with me. For now, there is no bill I could vote for. I know of cases where it's necessary to facilitate, for example, access to a patient. I am not introducing such a bill. I would have to see how it is constructed. I would certainly not support equating a partnership union with marriage, which is enshrined in the Constitution as a union of a man and a woman - stated Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz in an interview with Konrad Piasecki on TVN24's "Rozmowa Piaseckiego." He added that regarding access to medical documentation, matters related to inheritance, and facilitating this area, it is worth discussing, but not in the emotional climate of the European Parliament campaign. - Let's adopt this principle, and this is what I will propose to our colleagues, everyone in the European Coalition, the worldview principle of the Polish People's Party (PSL): everyone decides according to their own conscience - emphasized the PSL leader, adding that there is no agreement on a bill concerning partnership unions.

08:20

WKK:

No Joint Declaration Yet on Running Together in Parliamentary Elections

- The Senate should certainly be a natural continuation. The decision [on joint lists for the Sejm] also depends on the European Parliament election results. It's always easier to make decisions when the results support those decisions - stated Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz in an interview with Konrad Piasecki on TVN24's "Rozmowa Piaseckiego".

- [Discussions regarding a candidate for Prime Minister and President] are not happening because there is no joint declaration yet on whether we will run together in the parliamentary elections. There can be various considerations, and discussions happen in politics. I prefer events to unfold as follows: first, we need to build an interesting list for the European Parliament, win the EP elections, and then think about the Polish parliament - added the PSL leader.

08:36

Szydło on GW Poll: PiS is a democratic party, perhaps the most pro-freedom, offering concrete proposals for Poles. The European Coalition is mainly preoccupied with itself and, naturally, positions itself in opposition to PiS.

- One could say it's a poll with a thesis, prepared on behalf of "Gazeta Wyborcza". PiS is a democratic party, perhaps the most pro-freedom at the moment, and above all, a party that presents concrete proposals for Poles. We focus on what is important, significant for Poland and Poles. We are preparing further offers, we are discussing them, while the European Coalition, for now, is mainly preoccupied with itself and, of course, positions itself primarily in opposition to PiS - stated Beata Szydło in an interview with Paweł Lisicki on "Salon polityczny Trójki", when asked about today's "Gazeta Wyborcza" poll, in which the European Coalition wins against PiS.

- Polls always evoke various emotions, they are more or less accurate, true. There will probably be many more such polls in the future. The real poll is at the ballot box - added the Deputy Prime Minister.

08:39

Szydło:

PiS's 'Five Plus' Program is Very Well Received and Positively Assessed. These are Programs Fulfilling Many Polish Demands

- The PiS 'Five Plus' program is being received very well and is assessed very positively. These are programs that fulfill a great many demands put forth by Poles. I've heard about many such problems that we are now resolving through these program proposals, including at many meetings with people, but the important thing is that these pro-social programs, which are the next step, as this is another stage of pro-social programs prepared by PiS during our term in government, they are simultaneously pro-development programs - stated Beata Szydło in a conversation with Paweł Lisicki on "Trójka's Political Salon".

08:44

Szydło:

The Campaign is Just Beginning. Some Groups Are Still Preparing, We Are Already On the Road
European Parliament elections have always been characterized by relatively low turnout, and indeed, the electorate in larger cities was more mobilized. This is a challenge; of course, we are aware that one of the issues we need to work on very diligently is precisely the turnout, but the campaign is just beginning. In reality, some groups are only slowly preparing. We are already on the road, PiS has already set off and we are presenting our proposals – stated Beata Szydło in a conversation with Paweł Lisicki on "Trójka Political Salon".

09:01

Szydło on Teachers' Protest: I Believe We Will Reach Agreement with Unions and Cannot Imagine Teachers Not Standing by Their Students During Exams
- First and foremost, I deeply believe that we will reach an agreement with the unions and I cannot imagine teachers not standing by their students during exams. The paramount issue is that the exams take place, and I want to assure both parents and students here that the exams will be conducted, everything will be as it should be. I cannot imagine teachers, whose work it is, after all, to prepare young people who are taking exams, so that they can continue their education; this is the hard work of teachers and educators – stated Beata Szydło in an interview with Paweł Lisicki on "Salon polityczny Trójki". As she emphasized, the teaching profession requires additional funding, but the current government is the first to begin implementing raises for teachers after many years. - I believe that teachers should earn as much as possible, as well as possible, in accordance with their competencies and preparation. But we must also be aware that we cannot do everything at once. So we ask for time, understanding, and above all, for dialogue, so that we can reach an agreement not at the expense of the students, but rather prepare changes that will be, of course, acceptable and adopted by ZNP and also by "Solidarność" at the moment – said the Deputy Prime Minister.

Mazurek Confirms: Additional Sejm Session on April 3-4

Petru:

I Didn't Enter Politics to Form a Party Only to Join Civic Platform

„I will not join [Civic Platform]. I did not enter politics to form a party only to join Civic Platform. I have been receiving offers from Civic Platform for 8, 9, 10 years. That variant is out of the question. The message would become diluted. I do not endorse most of Civic Platform’s economic postulates. I am not interested in survival, because I don't want to survive and hit an economic wall,” said Ryszard Petru in an interview with Beata Lubecka on Radio Zet.

09:33

Petru:

Being in a party that endorses PiS's political program is political suicide for me. If the opposition endorses the government's program, what's the point of the opposition?

If I were to be in a political party that endorses the economic program of PiS, it would be political suicide for me. Whether [Civic Platform] will endorse it or not, we will see during the vote. I hear various voices. I will submit an amendment so that the 500+ benefit is not for the wealthiest. If it turns out that this rhetoric, that PiS is implementing Platforma's program, is maintained in the votes, then for me it is a surprise. If the opposition has the same program as the ruling party, then the question is, what is the point of the opposition” - Ryszard Petru said in an interview with Beata Lubecka on Radio Zet.

09:36

Petru on the LGBT+ Charter: "It's a Very Simple Trap. PiS Threw This Issue into the European Coalition, Which Holds Diverse Views on It"

"It's a very simple trap. [PiS] threw the topic of this [LGBT+] charter into the European Coalition, which holds diverse views on this matter. I understand that the PSL would never sign such a charter, and parts of Civic Platform probably would" - Ryszard Petru said in an interview with Beata Lubecka on Radio Zet.

09:36

Godek:

Kaczyński is Blocking the Protection of Life in Poland
- The language of communication is one thing, and political postulates are another. Law and Justice speaks very elegantly. Jarosław Kaczyński is a very chivalrous man, an exceptionally cultured elderly gentleman. The truth is that he is the one blocking the protection of life in Poland - stated Kaja Godek in a conversation with Robert Mazurek on RMF FM. - Jarosław Kaczyński is using all his strength to block the protection of life. He is yielding to the abortion lobby, he is yielding to the LGBT lobby - she added.

09:38

Petru:

Trzaskowski Stands Alone on the LGBT Card Issue. No One Backed Him. He is Politically Isolated and at the Mercy of PiS

Rafał Trzaskowski is alone in this matter [the LGBT+ card]. No one stood behind him. And this shows that the president, who won in the first round, is de facto politically isolated and thrown into a situation at the mercy of PiS” - said Ryszard Petru in an interview with Beata Lubecka on Radio Zet.

09:52

Mucha:

Trzaskowski's Actions Criticized from Many Perspectives. LGBT Declaration Highly Debatable

"Regarding the actions of President Trzaskowski, it must be said that they are criticized from many points of view. This morning I was listening to one of the leaders of the European Coalition, who directly stated that he would not have signed such a declaration and that the worldview dispute does not serve the EC, but also does not serve the debate in Poland" – said presidential minister Paweł Mucha in an interview with Jedynka radio.

"This declaration is a highly debatable matter" – he added.

09:54

Brudziński:

The hooliganism that brought real danger to Zawiszy Square in Warsaw must face the consequences of Polish law

Just before entering the studio, I spoke with both the Chief of Police, Gen. Szymczyk, and the Warsaw Metropolitan Police Commander, Gen. Dobrodziej. In this matter, my expectation, and the Prime Minister’s expectation, as I have also spoken with the Prime Minister, can only be one. Every representative, I apologize for such strong words, as I approach farmers with the utmost respect, I myself am a grandson of farmers, but in this case, the hooliganism that brought real threats to the health and lives of road users at Zawiszy Square must face the consequences arising from the law in force in Poland. No one, not even a very upset farmer, has the right to expose other road users to real danger. This is setting tires on fire without any prior notification - stated Joachim Brudziński in an interview with Marcin Fijołek on wPolsce.pl. He added:

“What we witnessed today, I expect a clear and firm… In this regard, I hope, I am convinced that the police will very quickly locate the specific individuals who committed this act. I know that a verification and identification process is currently underway for these individuals. Other vehicles were also stopped outside this area, containing tires, other items, and even waste, which – everything indicates – were intended to be used in other incidents. In this specific case, I am convinced that there will be concrete motions to the court and heavy fines.”

In this matter, I expect an absolute and sharp reaction from the police. I hope there will be one – stated the Minister of the Interior and Administration. He emphasized that “everyone has the right to express their protest, but not at the cost of the health and lives of other citizens.”

10:04

Brudziński:

I'm not retiring. I'm going to Brussels to fight for Polish interests

- Brussels is certainly not a retirement home for those who want to effectively advocate for Poland's interests. I've said this many times, and today one can fight for Polish interests in Brussels with just as much effectiveness as here in domestic politics. As the head of the Ministry of Interior and Administration, I have had many opportunities to observe this during various meetings, summits, and discussions with my colleagues, my counterparts. All of them, who had such experiences from more or less official contacts, and often it's about these less official contacts, due to their previous statements, whether working as MEPs or from other roles held in Brussels, such politicians are much more effective. I want to be an effective politician, I'm not retiring - stated Joachim Brudziński in an interview with Marcin Fijołek on wPolsce.pl television.

- If I win this mandate, then I will try, along with my colleagues within our faction, our group in the European Parliament, to advocate for Polish interests, because I am going to Brussels to fight for Polish interests, not to spend my time there cheerfully - added the head of the Ministry of Interior and Administration.

10:07

Brudziński on European Parliament Candidacy: I Completely Reject Such Remarks or Accusations of It Being an 'Evacuation'

- I completely reject these kinds of remarks or accusations that this is some kind of evacuation [from the government to the European Parliament]. For those who level such accusations against our team, or leveled the same accusations when Minister Boni, Minister Kudrycka, not to mention Donald Tusk, went to Brussels? - stated Joachim Brudziński in an interview with Marcin Fijołek on wPolsce.pl television.

10:14

Brudziński:

Jarosław Kaczyński's leadership is in no way questioned, there are no factions
I burst out laughing [when I read media publications]. There is no Mateusz Morawiecki faction in the party. There is one strong leadership of Jarosław Kaczyński. Anyone who ever dreamed of challenging this leadership is today either a forgotten politician or a very vitriolic opponent of PiS, currying favor with Civic Platform for spots on the electoral list for the European Parliament, to mention at least the unfortunately former prime minister from our recommendation, and one could multiply such examples. Jarosław Kaczyński's leadership is in no way questioned, there are no factions. I am a local, one of the closest collaborators, one of the few closest collaborators of Jarosław Kaczyński. Among this group is also Prime Minister Morawiecki - stated Joachim Brudziński in a conversation with Marcin Fijołek on wPolsce.pl television.

10:16

Brudziński:

I Don't Consider Myself a Burned-Out Politician

- I don't consider myself a burned-out politician. I am not heading for any political retirement. I consider myself absolutely loyal to my political environment, my leader, and in agreement with no one else but Jarosław Kaczyński, I made this decision [to run for the European Parliament] and I hope it will be a good time - stated Joachim Brudziński in an interview with Marcin Fijołek on wPolsce.pl television.

10:30

Halicki:

It was a mistake that we didn't regulate certain issues when we were in power. I'm thinking about registered partnerships.

I consider it a mistake that Civic Platform, having its views, which I would rather say have been formed over many years, although they are changing because I also notice certain problems, I believe it was a mistake that we did not conduct, when we were in power, a process of regulating certain issues, for example. I'm thinking about registered partnerships – stated Andrzej Halicki in an interview with Jacek Prusinowski on Radio Plus.

Poles Work Hard, Czechs Reject the Euro, Hungarians Back Macron's Renaissance

We have evidence that Poles work hard. Eurostat has published data on work in various European Union countries; our editorial team has processed it, and now it's your turn, dear readers – we encourage you to learn about how the average Pole works.

It turns out that compared to the rest of the EU countries, we spend very little time sitting at our desks. It's worth finding out where and in what position we work most often.

SEQUENCE OF THE DAY

– 1.3 trillion dollars – 666 billion dollars – 1 trillion dollars

The first is the budget deficit that Barack Obama inherited in 2010 upon entering the White House. The second is the deficit he left when he departed. The third is the projected deficit at the end of Donald Trump's term. (Bloomberg)

Yesterday's Newsletter began with the activities of hackers from China; today we will talk about cyber attackers from Iran.

Hackers from this country, operating over the last two years, have plundered the databases of 200 companies. They stole trade secrets and deleted data from computers. The targets of the cyber thieves were businesses in the oil and gas extraction and processing sectors, heavy machinery manufacturers, as well as international corporations.

Examples? Certainly: the December attack on the Italian company Saipem, a general contractor for gas transmission infrastructure. Iranian hackers wiped data from the company's computers in its Middle Eastern, Indian, Scottish, and Italian branches.

Other attacked companies were from Saudi Arabia, Germany, the United Kingdom, India, and the United States. The damages are estimated to be in the hundreds of millions of dollars. (Wall Street Journal)

Almost no one benefited greatly from the euro, so the Czechs don't want to try. Andrej Babiš, the Czech Prime Minister, often refers to a report by the German think tank Center for European Policy when discussing his reluctance towards the euro in the Czech Republic. The report indicates that over the past 20 years, only Germany and the Netherlands have significantly enriched themselves by adopting the common currency.

Surprisingly, according to the study, Greece has a net gain of... 2 billion euros from the euro. The early years, when the Greek economy benefited from low-interest rates, were so lucrative that subsequent losses have not yet exceeded the initial gains.

The Italians have lost the most by abandoning their national currency. Between 1999 and 2017, this amounted to as much as 4.3 trillion euros. France lost over 3.6 trillion euros.

We are not surprised that in the Czech Republic, only 33% of people support the idea of joining the Eurozone. (Bloomberg, CEP)

Macron's "Renaissance" Revolution with Orban's Support. French President Emmanuel Macron, who aspires to take Merkel's place as Europe's leader, has presented his proposals for the Union.

He named the program "Renaissance," likely because it's the only French word understood by someone outside l'Hexagone, and it fits the category of sophisticated words with a positive emotional charge.

One of the elements of Macron's Renaissance is sealing the European Union's borders by strengthening the community's external borders, establishing EU refugee offices, and increasing influence over which non-EU companies provide services here.

The aim is to ensure that our personal data does not fall into the wrong hands, and that aspects such as environmental protection are not violated by entrepreneurs from outside the community.

Prime Minister of Hungary, Viktor Orbán, certainly understands "Renaissance." When he heard Macron talk about border control, the head of government in Budapest visibly came alive. He said that at this point, we can mark the beginning of a serious European debate and constructive dialogue about the future.

The Dismantling of Bus Routes, Closure of Police Stations, and Post Offices Wasn't a Joke. It Actually Happened. We've Tackled This Serious, Civilizational Problem and Are Rebuilding It.

Over the last 10, 15, 20 years, bus connections have disappeared. Our program aims to bring these connections back onto the map of Poland, because there are many places, cities, towns, and villages in our wonderful homeland that have no connection to the outside world other than by car” – said Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki at a press conference in Płońsk.

The dismantling of bus routes, the closure of police stations, and post offices wasn't a joke. It actually happened. We've taken this serious, civilizational problem to the drawing board and are rebuilding it, together with Minister Adamczyk” – he added – „In the coming days, provincial governors will begin distributing funds [for local roads] in accordance with our promise. The entire Local Government Road Fund will be distributed as we announced”.

WKK:

We Request PM Morawiecki to Immediately Dismiss Ardanowski
- We are requesting Prime Minister Morawiecki today to immediately dismiss the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Krzysztof Ardanowski. What happened today in Warsaw is the result of the incompetence, lack of qualifications, skills, and vision for the Polish countryside and Polish agriculture on the part of the PiS government and Minister Ardanowski. He is unable to cope with the problems, he does not solve ASF issues, and he does not utilize EU funds. Poland is at the very bottom in terms of utilizing funds for rural development and farm modernization. 29% of these funds have been used in the current perspective. The European average is 50%. This shows the scale of incompetence of the entire ministry, but also of all agencies, because there has been an uncontrolled, thoughtless replacement of personnel solely to appoint cronies, rather than individuals who know their stuff, who can make the best possible decisions and help farmers – stated Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz at a briefing in the Sejm.

Sejm's Newsstand Controversy: Parliament's Office Outsourced to RUCH S.A. via Competition; Retailers Not Parliament Employees

- In response to information about a controversial title allegedly found for sale in one of the newsstands within the Sejm, the Sejm Information Centre clarifies that the Chancellery of the Sejm leased the space for this business activity to RUCH S.A., a company that won a tender. This means that this company is responsible for the selection of press titles and their display. It is also worth emphasizing that the individuals selling press at points on the Parliament's premises are not employees of the Chancellery of the Sejm, nor are they individuals employed by this institution under civil law contracts - informed the Director of the CIS, Andrzej Grzegrzółka, to 300POLITYKA, referencing Michał Kamiński's post about the Sejm's newsstand.

"Referring to the general accusations directed at the title in question, it is worth noting that two important legal acts are in force in Poland in this context. According to Article 54, paragraph 2 of the Constitution, preventive censorship of the media and licensing of the press are prohibited. At the same time, it should also be emphasized that, according to Article 20 of the Press Law, the publication of the press requires registration in the district court competent for the publisher's seat. In turn, Article 22 of this regulation indicates that the registration authority may suspend the publication of a daily newspaper or periodical for a specified period, not exceeding one year, if a crime has been committed in that daily newspaper or periodical at least three times within one year. From the above, it follows that the appropriate addressee of any applications in this regard should be law enforcement agencies, not the Chancellery of the Sejm."

I Regret When Those Who Lacked Courage to Secure Funds Criticize Military Modernization

- I know, because that is reality, and those are also the laws of today's world and the system we live in, democracy, that there may be those who will criticize. There are also those who are already criticizing today. I only regret the situation when those who themselves lacked the courage to make decisions regarding the acquisition of funds, who perhaps intellectually were not capable of acquiring resources for the Polish army, are criticizing. Perhaps they had too weak a position to acquire these resources. Either way, in a sense, one can say that they were failures in this regard, and this process is still ongoing today. Even though 30 years have passed since 1989, and we have been in NATO for 20 years. We still have a lot of this old, former post-Soviet equipment that should have been retired long ago. This is our great task - stated President Andrzej Duda at the Presidential Palace, during the awarding of general nominations.

. This also represents colossal sums of money, great trust from Polish society, that they agree to this modernization, such enormous costs. We must be grateful for this, although it is, of course, also done for the safety of our citizens, perhaps primarily for that reason. Is it necessary? Yes, today it is not only necessary. Today it is absolutely essential. If we look at the security architecture in the world or in our part of Europe, it is obvious to everyone that we must modernize our army, that it must be larger, more numerous, more modern, better equipped. That we need fifth-generation aircraft, new helicopters. That we had to make purchases such as the acquisition of the Patriot system, the Wisła. That we had to acquire equipment such as the HIMARS system, which truly places us among modern, well-equipped armies. And that we must continue this. Huge sums of money are to be spent for this purpose by 2026, which are unimaginable for the ordinary citizen. This is also a great responsibility that rests on you as well - PAD continued.

Civic Platform on the Ministry of Justice's Judicial Reform Ideas: An Attack on the Remaining Judicial Independence

We are hearing rumors about the second stage of the justice system's deformation, the second stage of the takeover of the judiciary by PiS politicians. Minister Ziobro is announcing a deformation consisting of flattening the judicial system. The positions of district, regional, and appellate judges will be abolished. Judges will be introduced, deceptively called 'justices of the peace,' but in reality, they will be individuals without legal education. In our assessment, this is a purely personnel-driven attack on the remaining independence of the judiciary. We know what is happening in the courts today” – said Krzysztof Brejza from Civic Platform at a press conference in the Sejm.

What Zbigniew Ziobro is proposing is the elimination of judges who are independent today, who defend judicial independence” – added Robert Kropiwnicki – „This aims to promote those who are subordinate to the Minister of Justice, who agree with the current National Council of the Judiciary”.

Additional Sejm session on April 3rd and 4th - "Emerytura+", transport connections, and "500+" for every child
“I confirm – April 3rd and 4th – an additional Sejm session, during which we will process the legislative proposals from PiS’s ‘five-point plan’. The first three topics discussed will be: ‘Emerytura+’, transport connections, and family support, meaning the ‘500+’ program for every child. Once these projects are submitted to the Sejm, we will discuss them in detail” – said PiS spokesperson, Deputy Marshal Beata Mazurek, at a press conference in the Sejm.

14:36

Mazurek:

I hope Bochenek has the qualifications, knowledge, and skills to perform the task set before him. Let's remember he is not a PiS member.

You were satisfied with working with Rafał Bochenek, as far as I know. I hope he has the qualifications, knowledge, and skills to perform the task set before him. Let's remember that he is not a member of PiS. Regarding the form of employment, please ask the company” - said PiS spokesperson, Deputy Marshal Beata Mazurek, at a press conference in the Sejm.

Attributing the LGBT Issue to PiS is Absurd and Ridiculous

“Let’s be clear. The LGBT issue was brought up by today’s opposition, by Rafał Trzaskowski, and attributing the issue to PiS or the triggering of the issue by PiS is absurd and ridiculous. We’ll see what happens. More and more people are reacting negatively to the declarations. And these are people associated with today’s opposition. This is their problem, not ours. Our role and assessment is to protect children and support families. We will speak loudly about this because we have the right to do so. In our assessment and in accordance with Polish law, marriage is a union between a woman and a man. We will protect Polish families and children from the content contained in the WHO. We have the right to do so,” said PiS spokesperson, Deputy Marshal Beata Mazurek, at a press conference in the Sejm.

Parliamentary Rules Committee Adopts Niesiołowski's Statement on Renouncing Immunity

The Sejm's Regulations Committee has adopted the statement by MP Stefan Niesiołowski regarding his voluntary renunciation of parliamentary immunity. The decision was made during a committee meeting on Tuesday.

Niesiołowski, a prominent figure in Polish politics and a long-serving member of parliament, had previously announced his intention to waive his immunity in connection with ongoing legal proceedings. The exact nature of these proceedings has not been publicly disclosed in detail, but the move by Niesiołowski signifies his willingness to face legal scrutiny without the protection of parliamentary privilege.

The adoption of his statement by the committee is a procedural step that formalizes his decision. It is expected that this will allow the legal proceedings against him to continue without obstruction.

Justice Committee to Consider Motion to Remove Piotrowicz on Friday

On the last day of the Sejm session, on Friday, 15 minutes after the plenary votes conclude, likely around 11:30 AM - 12:00 PM, the Justice Committee will consider the opposition's motion to remove Stanisław Piotrowicz from his position as committee chairman. PO-KO MPs cite comments from 2001 that downplayed the actions of the parish priest from Tylawa, who was ultimately convicted of child molestation in 2004.

Schetyna on EP Elections: We will propose Kopacz to lead the list in Wielkopolska

Tomorrow there's a meeting with regional leaders, on Friday the board [regarding the lists]. Ewa Kopacz will certainly be the lead candidate for the EP elections. We will propose that it be Wielkopolska, that she be the leader of the list in Wielkopolska. Jerzy Buzek, who will lead, as usual, the Silesian team of the European Coalition. Włodzimierz Cimoszewicz – the Warsaw candidacy. No, no question marks. Marek Belka too. There will be five former prime ministers on our lists, it will be a great representation, a team that will represent Poland excellently in the EP. I am proud that we managed to build such a crew. It is truly a team of stars – stated Grzegorz Schetyna in an interview with Justyna Pochanke on TVN24's "Fakty po faktach".

Schetyna on GW Poll: The First Glimmer of Hope Opening Up Space for Good Conclusions

- The first glimmer, opening up a space from which good conclusions can be drawn, that the unification of opposition parties, the process of uniting the opposition, a process that has been ongoing for a very long time, but it seems to be taking shape, that the contours of this agreement are already visible, offers a chance, unity, victory, and this is a glimmer of hopestated Grzegorz Schetyna in a conversation with Justyna Pochanke on TVN24's "Fakty po faktach," commenting on today's poll for "Gazeta Wyborcza." He added:

"I have a sense of great responsibility, not just for Platforma, but for all the parties involved, and also for the communities, all those who supported us, that we have all, as it were, set aside parts of our political sovereignty and genuinely wanted to find an agreement. This doesn't happen often in Polish politics. The devil is always in the details, and this devil always bodes ill and brings bad news and overturns solid and good projects. We managed to avoid this. We supported each other, we differed, these are still different parties, very diverse, with different programs, but what unites us is respect for the rule of law, freedom, the Constitution, Europe, and the fact that we want to be together, that we truly know how important these elections will be, those in May and October."

19:54

Schetyna on a pre-election coalition: "It will depend on whether all parties in this agreement feel politically satisfied. I would very much like that."

- This will of course depend on whether all parties participating in this agreement feel politically satisfied. I would very much like that. I believe we owe this to Poles, to those who keep their fingers crossed for us, stop us on the streets and say: do something, be together, win the elections, because Poland is at stake, because the time has truly come when you must show that agreement above divisions is the most important thing, because it brings hope - stated Grzegorz Schetyna in an interview with Justyna Pochanke on TVN24's "Fakty po faktach", when asked if the opposition coalition would also go together to the national elections, the Civic Platform leader.

19:55

Kukiz:

Broniarz Speaks Up Just Before the Elections. Of Course, This is Politics

Absolutely all raises for teachers were frozen, and Mr. Broniarz had no problem with it being that way. Suddenly, just before the elections, Mr. Broniarz speaks up, saying he will fight. Of course, this is politics. I support the teachers' demands for higher earnings” - said Paweł Kukiz in an interview with Bogdan Rymanowski on Polsat News' "Wydarzenia i opinie" (Events and Opinions).

19:56

Schetyna:

I'd like a government with support of 276 or more MPs, because I know that until April next year, President Duda will veto every bill

- I'd like a government that will have the support of 276 or more MPs, because I know that until April next year, 2020, President Duda will be in office, and he will veto every bill and do everything to not cooperate with this government - stated Grzegorz Schetyna in an interview with Justyna Pochanke on TVN24's "Fakty po faktach" (Facts After Facts).

20:01

Schetyna:

War with Biedroń Makes No Sense. He Reaches Those Who Previously Didn't Engage in Politics, Often Not Participating in Elections
[War with Biedroń] makes no sense, and I'm saying this and what the editor is talking about, I also see it that way. That this beginning, we were all worried that perhaps the parties functioning today, on this democratic, civic stage, the political stage, might lose, but today what we expected is confirmed. Robert Biedroń reaches those who previously didn't participate, didn't engage in politics, often didn't participate in elections at all, didn't vote. Not just because of age, they were simply outside of politics. If Robert Biedroń manages to saturate, to create such a political proposal that he encourages those who were hitherto outside of politics, outside of public activity, then that's only good, because then he fills that space which currently functioning parties cannot reach – stated Grzegorz Schetyna in an interview with Justyna Pochanke on TVN24's "Fakty po faktach".

20:04

Kukiz:

'Trams of Diversity' Reminds Me of 'Nur für Deutsche' Carriages That Once Ran Through Warsaw, Segregating Specific Groups for Preferential Treatment

"The 'trams of diversity' – that reminds me of the days when there was 'Nur für Deutsche'. Those kinds of trams used to run through Warsaw. Some special segregated groups that are supposed to have it better. Sports facilities built for LGBT individuals, support for clubs when Skra is falling apart, when there's no sports hall" – Paweł Kukiz stated in a conversation with Bogdan Rymanowski on Polsat News's "Wydarzenia i opinie".

20:07

Kukiz on the LGBT+ Charter: Trzaskowski Harm's LGBT+ Movements

Did what President Trzaskowski did harm or help LGBT+ movements? In my opinion, it will harm. It causes a very clear division and even resentment from other people. This is not a matter for local governments. Secondly, Warsaw has 2 million people. Even if we assume an astronomical number of 7-8% LGBT+ individuals in Warsaw, setting up an entire program, appointing new offices, plenipotentiaries, diversity trams… Instead of diversity trams, people are waiting for free public transport” – said Paweł Kukiz in a conversation with Bogdan Rymanowski in „Wydarzenia i opinie” on Polsat News.

20:13

Schetyna:

We Must All Stand Together

- If the discussion or debate after the elections is pushed to the end of December, then anything is of course possible, but it would be a severe political crisis if after the elections at the beginning of October... Then [Donald Tusk, after his term as President of the European Council ends] will be available, he will be able to write his political future, which is why this timing, but it means that we do not have a majority stable enough to appoint a government that will very clearly define its program and will have built a parliamentary majority. This would bode ill for the cohesion of a potential coalition - stated Grzegorz Schetyna in an interview with Justyna Pochanke on TVN24's "Fakty po faktach", when asked about the scenario with Donald Tusk as Prime Minister.

- I believe that we must all stand together. I don't see any other possibility, whoever the Prime Minister may be, if it is a civic government with majority support, I don't see any other possibility than such an involvement of Donald Tusk in the entire process of rebuilding Poland's international position, our entire reputation, the space that we have lost in Brussels, in the EU. His role, Donald Tusk's role, is invaluable in this process. After all, this will take many months - he added.

20:20

Biedroń on the European Commission: Our Electorates Are Not Opposed, They Walk Alongside Each Other. Thanks to Wiosna, We Have a Chance to Give Poland Courage
- I hope that the pro-democracy side, including Wiosna, wins these elections. It is important to walk alongside each other. Our electorates are not opposed, they walk alongside each other. Thanks to Wiosna, we have a chance to give Poland courage. Let's focus on a positive message, on supporting each other - said Robert Biedroń in Kropka nad I.

20:20

Kempa:

What Trzaskowski signed, giving permission for the sexualization of children aged 0-4, is unacceptable, it is inadmissible, and we will fight it. Tolerance - yes, affirmation - no

If what the [Trzaskowski] president signed gives permission for the sexualization of children aged 0-4 according to WHO recommendations, then this is something unacceptable” - said Minister Beata Kempa in a conversation with Danuta Holecka on „Gość Wiadomości” on TVP Info - „This is absolutely inadmissible and we will fight it. Tolerance - yes, but affirmation and the destruction of our children's identity - absolutely not”.

20:23

Biedroń:

I Don't Hide That I'm Ready to Be Prime Minister, But Voters Will Decide
- I don't hide that I'm ready to be Prime Minister, but it's the voters who will decide. Polish politics needs renewal. Today, these are just polls. When I was running for parliament, everyone said it was an elephant versus an ant, and when I ran for Mayor of Słupsk, they said I'd get 2% – Robert Biedroń said on Kropka nad I.

20:24

Schetyna Suggests Support for 'Kaczyński's Five' Legislative Proposals

- We will examine each [proposal], because these proposals do not exist yet. They are not finalized; they will be voted on, prepared, and debated in April, and then voted on. PLN 500 for the first child - yes, that was our proposal. I will remind you: in February 2016, the entire Law and Justice party rejected this proposal. The 13th [for retirees] - there is a question of whether this 13th payment, conventionally speaking an additional pension, will also be in place in 2020, what about retirees who are working, whether it is designated for all retirees and disability pensioners - we will ask about this. This money is to be paid out in May, two weeks before the elections. This is evident political corruption, but of course, if it serves to improve the situation of retirees, we will vote in favor - stated Grzegorz Schetyna in an interview with Justyna Pochanke on TVN24's "Fakty po faktach," when asked about supporting the legislative proposals from the so-called 'Kaczyński's Five'.

20:25

Biedroń:

I'd Dream of Joanna Scheuring-Wielgus Joining. I'd Like to Work With Her. Anna Grodzka Made a Different Decision
- I am holding talks with several politicians and prominent public figures. I would dream of Joanna Scheuring-Wielgus joining. I would like to work with her. Anna Grodzka has made a different decision, she positions herself very much on the left. She considered Wiosna to be more centrist - Robert Biedroń said on Kropka nad I.

20:27

Biedroń:

Trzaskowski Made a Very Brave and Necessary Decision. I Myself Proposed Partnership Legislation in Parliament. MPs of that Term Lacked Paweł Adamowicz's Courage
- Rafał Trzaskowski has made a very brave and necessary decision. In Słupsk, I introduced the Diversity Charter, in line with WHO recommendations. It is achievable. Over the last 30 years, we have done little to resolve certain issues and introduce civil unions. I myself was a proponent in the Sejm of such a project. MPs of that term lacked the courage of Paweł Adamowicz – said Robert Biedroń on Kropka nad I.

20:29

Biedroń:

The Church Has Confessed Poles for Too Long. Priests Ask 9-Year-Olds If They Play With Their Bodies, Think Impure Thoughts, or Could Appear in a Porn Film
- The time has come. The Church has confessed Poles for too long. Perhaps it's high time we started confessing the Church. I've prepared some quotes from books for children preparing for communion. Priests ask 9-year-olds if they play with their bodies, think impure thoughts, or could one day appear in a pornographic film. These are from textbooks for 9-year-olds going for their first communion, and these are the questions priests ask 400,000 children going for their first communion. I would prefer a properly paid teacher to teach sexual education, not a priest or catechist - said Robert Biedroń on Kropka nad I.

20:29

Kempa:

We are for tolerating diversity, but they cannot impose their model on us. They have their marches, they have their clubs. In this case, we are a tolerant country.

We are absolutely for tolerating, and for tolerating diversity, but it cannot be that these people impose their model on us, and this model, through specific solutions such as documents signed by the mayor of the capital, and thus the demand or expectation that the mayors of other cities should do the same, is unacceptable. This is not a matter of tolerating. I believe they are imposing. They have their marches, they have their clubs. We are truly a tolerant country in this regard” - said Minister Beata Kempa in an interview with Danuta Holecka on "Gość Wiadomości" on TVP Info.

20:32

Biedroń:

If Politicians Had the Courage to Introduce Sex Education and Civil Unions, Kaczyński Wouldn't Be Able to Scare People Today
- I'm crossing my fingers for PiS and Kaczyński to lose. If politicians had the courage to introduce sex education and civil unions, Kaczyński wouldn't be able to scare people today - said Robert Biedroń in Kropka nad I.

20:35

Biedroń:

In Słupsk, the President Revealed Salary Network; Catechists Earn Most Among Teachers. In 2019, We Should Remove Religion from Schools, as These 2 Billion Could Go Towards Raises.
- We need to ensure that the teaching profession is not a volunteer job, but an elite profession. Every year in Słupsk, I added several tens of millions to education, as every local government in Poland does. We need to ensure teachers are paid with dignity. Biedroń, or learning English. Not answering children's questions about whether they would like to participate in recording a pornographic film - said Robert Biedroń on Kropka nad I.

20:36

Biedroń:

What a strong PiS team in Brussels when they can't even say 'baa' or 'moo' or 'cock-a-doodle-doo' in a foreign language?
- What a strong PiS team in Brussels when they can't even say 'baa' or 'moo' or 'cock-a-doodle-doo' in a foreign language? This isn't a comfortable salary and rest, but hard work - Robert Biedroń said on Kropka nad I.

IMAGE OF THE DAY: Skórzyński: Opposition's 3 Different Stances is PiS's Dream Scenario; Events: Pig Heads Paralyze Warsaw; News: Kosiniak-Kamysz Matures to Criticize LGBT+ Charter. Question: Should PSL Leave the European Coalition?

-- 300POLITYKA LIVEBLOG:

Biedroń: How strong is the PiS team in Brussels if they can't say a word in a foreign language?

Biedroń: In Słupsk, the mayor revealed salary figures, showing that catechists earn the most among teachers. In 2019, we should remove religion from schools, as those 2 billion could be allocated to salary increases.

Biedroń: If politicians had the courage to introduce sex education and civil partnerships, Kaczyński wouldn't be able to scare people today.

Kempa: We are for tolerating diversity, but it cannot be that these people impose their model on us. They have their marches, they have their clubs. In this regard, we are a tolerant country.

Biedroń: The Church has confessed Poles for too long. Priests ask 9-year-olds if they play with their bodies, if they think about impure things, or if they could appear in a pornographic film someday.

Biedroń: Trzaskowski made a very brave and necessary decision. I myself was a sponsor of the civil partnership bill in the Sejm. The MPs of that term lacked the courage of Paweł Adamowicz.

Biedroń: I would dream of Joanna Scheuring-Wielgus joining. I would like to work with her. Anna Grodzka made a different decision.

Biedroń: I do not hide that I am ready to become Prime Minister, but the voters will decide.

Biedroń on the European Coalition: Our electorates are not opposed; they go side by side. Thanks to Wiosna (Spring), we have a chance to give Poland courage.

Schetyna: We must all be together.

Kukiz: "Trams of diversity" reminds me of the times when there was "Nur für Deutsche" (Only for Germans). Such trams used to run in Warsaw. Special segregated groups that are supposed to have it better.

Schetyna: A war with Biedroń makes no sense. He appeals to those who have not been involved in politics before, often not participating in elections at all.

Schetyna: I would like a government that has the support of 276 or more MPs, because I know that until April next year, President Duda will be in office, who will veto every law.

Schetyna, asked about a coalition for national elections: It will depend on whether all parties participating in this agreement feel politically satisfied. I would really like that.

Schetyna on EP elections: We will propose that Kopacz be the leader of the list in Wielkopolska.
