Wednesday marks the first day of the Sejm session, which will continue until Friday inclusive. MPs will begin deliberations with a discussion on the bill supporting scientific activity from the Polish Science Fund. Subsequently, at 4:15 PM, a briefing is scheduled on significant issues arising from the activities and rulings of the Constitutional Tribunal in 2017.

At 1:00 PM, the Sejm's Rules and Deputies' Affairs Committee will consider the request from the Łódź prosecutor's office to strip Stefan Niesiołowski of his parliamentary immunity. At 3:00 PM, MPs from the Foreign Affairs Committee will, in a closed session, hear the theses of the speech, the so-called "mini-expose," which Minister Jacek Czaputowicz is scheduled to deliver tomorrow.

The Vatican Secretary of State will be visiting Warsaw today. Cardinal Pietro Parolin will meet with Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki at 2:00 PM and with President Andrzej Duda at 4:30 PM.

- There is no rebellion [in the PSL]. It's a normal discussion within the party. Not everyone is probably satisfied with all the decisions, but apart from the leader of Bayer Full, perhaps two individuals who left the PSL due to his family in Płock County, there are no departures or rebellions. This is, of course, being fabricated by PiS politicians. Their concern is manifesting in this way - stated Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz in an interview with Konrad Piasecki on TVN24's "Rozmowa Piaseckiego".

- For the European elections, because that's what we've agreed on for now. Here, I can imagine, precisely for these elections, such a common program. Firstly, the fight for the highest possible budget for Poland. Many have spoken about it, but some know how to do it. We negotiated, when we were in power and had strong representation in the EPP, together with Platforma Obywatelska, the largest budget, PLN 400 billion for Poland from the European budget – stated Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz in an interview with Konrad Piasecki on TVN24's "Rozmowa Piaseckiego".

- Another issue – renewable energy sources and uniform subsidies across the entire EU. Unification of agricultural subsidies, the issue of young people and their start in life. There are so many common points. Of course, there are differences within the European Coalition, and there will be, but one can differ beautifully – added the leader of PSL.

- First of all, in Warsaw, it was Rafał Trzaskowski's program [signing the LGBT+ declaration]. He gained voter acceptance. We had our candidate; he didn't have that in his program. We also don't have representatives on the Warsaw City Council. Of course, with freedom of worldview, because in the PSL there are also different opinions, and on the topic of in vitro, there were different opinions, and on abortion - stated Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz in an interview with Konrad Piasecki on TVN24's "Rozmowa Piaseckiego".

- I wouldn't sign that [LGBT+] card, especially also in this pre-election period. Aleksander Hall also spoke about this. It seems to me to be a mistake, especially at this time, because it provokes very strong worldview emotions. We already have a Polish-Polish political war; imposing a worldview war on top of that is nothing good. But in the PSL, just as it should be in the European Coalition, worldview matters are an individual matter, not even of a political formation, but of each person creating individual political formations - added the PSL leader. As he emphasized, he himself is in favor of sex education.

- I cannot imagine [alliances with PiS]. We stated it directly: good projects, social projects, we have no problem supporting 500+ for every child, because, by the way, we supported it even before PiS wanted to propose such a project, two years ago. Back then, 226 PiS MPs were against it, or pensions. We believe we should go a step further, pensions should be tax-free because it's a systemic solution, but political cooperation [with PiS] is out of the question - stated Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz in an interview with Konrad Piasecki on TVN24's "Rozmowa Piaseckiego".

- Barbara Nowacka has not discussed this topic [of partnership unions] with me. For now, there is no bill I could vote for. I know of cases where it's necessary to facilitate, for example, access to a patient. I am not introducing such a bill. I would have to see how it is constructed. I would certainly not support equating a partnership union with marriage, which is enshrined in the Constitution as a union of a man and a woman - stated Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz in an interview with Konrad Piasecki on TVN24's "Rozmowa Piaseckiego." He added that regarding access to medical documentation, matters related to inheritance, and facilitating this area, it is worth discussing, but not in the emotional climate of the European Parliament campaign. - Let's adopt this principle, and this is what I will propose to our colleagues, everyone in the European Coalition, the worldview principle of the Polish People's Party (PSL): everyone decides according to their own conscience - emphasized the PSL leader, adding that there is no agreement on a bill concerning partnership unions.

- The Senate should certainly be a natural continuation. The decision [on joint lists for the Sejm] also depends on the European Parliament election results. It's always easier to make decisions when the results support those decisions - stated Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz in an interview with Konrad Piasecki on TVN24's "Rozmowa Piaseckiego".

- [Discussions regarding a candidate for Prime Minister and President] are not happening because there is no joint declaration yet on whether we will run together in the parliamentary elections. There can be various considerations, and discussions happen in politics. I prefer events to unfold as follows: first, we need to build an interesting list for the European Parliament, win the EP elections, and then think about the Polish parliament - added the PSL leader.

- One could say it's a poll with a thesis, prepared on behalf of "Gazeta Wyborcza". PiS is a democratic party, perhaps the most pro-freedom at the moment, and above all, a party that presents concrete proposals for Poles. We focus on what is important, significant for Poland and Poles. We are preparing further offers, we are discussing them, while the European Coalition, for now, is mainly preoccupied with itself and, of course, positions itself primarily in opposition to PiS - stated Beata Szydło in an interview with Paweł Lisicki on "Salon polityczny Trójki", when asked about today's "Gazeta Wyborcza" poll, in which the European Coalition wins against PiS.

- Polls always evoke various emotions, they are more or less accurate, true. There will probably be many more such polls in the future. The real poll is at the ballot box - added the Deputy Prime Minister.

- The PiS 'Five Plus' program is being received very well and is assessed very positively. These are programs that fulfill a great many demands put forth by Poles. I've heard about many such problems that we are now resolving through these program proposals, including at many meetings with people, but the important thing is that these pro-social programs, which are the next step, as this is another stage of pro-social programs prepared by PiS during our term in government, they are simultaneously pro-development programs - stated Beata Szydło in a conversation with Paweł Lisicki on "Trójka's Political Salon".

European Parliament elections have always been characterized by relatively low turnout, and indeed, the electorate in larger cities was more mobilized. This is a challenge; of course, we are aware that one of the issues we need to work on very diligently is precisely the turnout, but the campaign is just beginning. In reality, some groups are only slowly preparing. We are already on the road, PiS has already set off and we are presenting our proposals – stated Beata Szydło in a conversation with Paweł Lisicki on "Trójka Political Salon".

- First and foremost, I deeply believe that we will reach an agreement with the unions and I cannot imagine teachers not standing by their students during exams. The paramount issue is that the exams take place, and I want to assure both parents and students here that the exams will be conducted, everything will be as it should be. I cannot imagine teachers, whose work it is, after all, to prepare young people who are taking exams, so that they can continue their education; this is the hard work of teachers and educators – stated Beata Szydło in an interview with Paweł Lisicki on "Salon polityczny Trójki". As she emphasized, the teaching profession requires additional funding, but the current government is the first to begin implementing raises for teachers after many years. - I believe that teachers should earn as much as possible, as well as possible, in accordance with their competencies and preparation. But we must also be aware that we cannot do everything at once. So we ask for time, understanding, and above all, for dialogue, so that we can reach an agreement not at the expense of the students, but rather prepare changes that will be, of course, acceptable and adopted by ZNP and also by "Solidarność" at the moment – said the Deputy Prime Minister.

„I will not join [Civic Platform]. I did not enter politics to form a party only to join Civic Platform. I have been receiving offers from Civic Platform for 8, 9, 10 years. That variant is out of the question. The message would become diluted. I do not endorse most of Civic Platform’s economic postulates. I am not interested in survival, because I don't want to survive and hit an economic wall,” said Ryszard Petru in an interview with Beata Lubecka on Radio Zet.

„If I were to be in a political party that endorses the economic program of PiS, it would be political suicide for me. Whether [Civic Platform] will endorse it or not, we will see during the vote. I hear various voices. I will submit an amendment so that the 500+ benefit is not for the wealthiest. If it turns out that this rhetoric, that PiS is implementing Platforma's program, is maintained in the votes, then for me it is a surprise. "Regarding the actions of President Trzaskowski, it must be said that they are criticized from many points of view. This morning I was listening to one of the leaders of the European Coalition, who directly stated that he would not have signed such a declaration and that the worldview dispute does not serve the EC, but also does not serve the debate in Poland" – said presidential minister Paweł Mucha in an interview with Jedynka radio.

"This declaration is a highly debatable matter" – he added.

– Just before entering the studio, I spoke with both the Chief of Police, Gen. Szymczyk, and the Warsaw Metropolitan Police Commander, Gen. Dobrodziej. In this matter, my expectation, and the Prime Minister’s expectation, as I have also spoken with the Prime Minister, can only be one. Every representative, I apologize for such strong words, as I approach farmers with the utmost respect, I myself am a grandson of farmers, but in this case, the hooliganism that brought real threats to the health and lives of road users at Zawiszy Square must face the consequences arising from the law in force in Poland. No one, not even a very upset farmer, has the right to expose other road users to real danger. This is setting tires on fire without any prior notification - stated Joachim Brudziński in an interview with Marcin Fijołek on wPolsce.pl. He added:

“What we witnessed today, I expect a clear and firm… In this regard, I hope, I am convinced that the police will very quickly locate the specific individuals who committed this act. I know that a verification and identification process is currently underway for these individuals. In this specific case, I am convinced that there will be concrete motions to the court and heavy fines.”

– In this matter, I expect an absolute and sharp reaction from the police. I hope there will be one – stated the Minister of the Interior and Administration. He emphasized that “everyone has the right to express their protest, but not at the cost of the health and lives of other citizens.”

- Brussels is certainly not a retirement home for those who want to effectively advocate for Poland's interests. I've said this many times, and today one can fight for Polish interests in Brussels with just as much effectiveness as here in domestic politics. As the head of the Ministry of Interior and Administration, I have had many opportunities to observe this during various meetings, summits, and discussions with my colleagues, my counterparts. All of them, who had such experiences from more or less official contacts, and often it's about these less official contacts, due to their previous statements, whether working as MEPs or from other roles held in Brussels, such politicians are much more effective. I want to be an effective politician, I'm not retiring - stated Joachim Brudziński in an interview with Marcin Fijołek on wPolsce.pl television.

- If I win this mandate, then I will try, along with my colleagues within our faction, our group in the European Parliament, to advocate for Polish interests, because I am going to Brussels to fight for Polish interests, not to spend my time there cheerfully - added the head of the Ministry of Interior and Administration.

- I completely reject these kinds of remarks or accusations that this is some kind of evacuation [from the government to the European Parliament]. I burst out laughing [when I read media publications]. There is no Mateusz Morawiecki faction in the party. There is one strong leadership of Jarosław Kaczyński. Anyone who ever dreamed of challenging this leadership is today either a forgotten politician or a very vitriolic opponent of PiS, currying favor with Civic Platform for spots on the electoral list for the European Parliament, to mention at least the unfortunately former prime minister from our recommendation, and one could multiply such examples. Jarosław Kaczyński's leadership is in no way questioned, there are no factions. I am a local, one of the closest collaborators, one of the few closest collaborators of Jarosław Kaczyński. - I don't consider myself a burned-out politician. I am not heading for any political retirement. Hackers from this country, operating over the last two years, have plundered the databases of 200 companies. They stole trade secrets and deleted data from computers. The targets of the cyber thieves were businesses in the oil and gas extraction and processing sectors, heavy machinery manufacturers, as well as international corporations.

Examples? Certainly: the December attack on the Italian company Saipem, a general contractor for gas transmission infrastructure. Iranian hackers wiped data from the company's computers in its Middle Eastern, Indian, Scottish, and Italian branches.

Other attacked companies were from Saudi Arabia, Germany, the United Kingdom, India, and the United States. The damages are estimated to be in the hundreds of millions of dollars. (Wall Street Journal)

Almost no one benefited greatly from the euro, so the Czechs don't want to try. Andrej Babiš, the Czech Prime Minister, often refers to a report by the German think tank Center for European Policy when discussing his reluctance towards the euro in the Czech Republic. Macron's "Renaissance" Revolution with Orban's Support. French President Emmanuel Macron, who aspires to take Merkel's place as Europe's leader, has presented his proposals for the Union.

He named the program "Renaissance," likely because it's the only French word understood by someone outside l'Hexagone, and it fits the category of sophisticated words with a positive emotional charge.

One of the elements of Macron's Renaissance is sealing the European Union's borders by strengthening the community's external borders, establishing EU refugee offices, and increasing influence over which non-EU companies provide services here.

The aim is to ensure that our personal data does not fall into the wrong hands, and that aspects such as environmental protection are not violated by entrepreneurs from outside the community.

Prime Minister of Hungary, Viktor Orbán, certainly understands "Renaissance." When he heard Macron talk about border control, the head of government in Budapest visibly came alive. He said that at this point, we can mark the beginning of a serious European debate and constructive dialogue about the future.

„Over the last 10, 15, 20 years, bus connections have disappeared. Our program aims to bring these connections back onto the map of Poland, because there are many places, cities, towns, and villages in our wonderful homeland that have no connection to the outside world other than by car” – said Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki at a press conference in Płońsk.

„The dismantling of bus routes, the closure of police stations, and post offices wasn't a joke. It actually happened. We've taken this serious, civilizational problem to the drawing board and are rebuilding it, together with Minister Adamczyk” – he added – „In the coming days, provincial governors will begin distributing funds [for local roads] in accordance with our promise. The entire Local Government Road Fund will be distributed as we announced”.

- We are requesting Prime Minister Morawiecki today to immediately dismiss the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Krzysztof Ardanowski. What happened today in Warsaw is the result of the incompetence, lack of qualifications, skills, and vision for the Polish countryside and Polish agriculture on the part of the PiS government and Minister Ardanowski. He is unable to cope with the problems, he does not solve ASF issues, and he does not utilize EU funds. Poland is at the very bottom in terms of utilizing funds for rural development and farm modernization. 29% of these funds have been used in the current perspective. The European average is 50%. This shows the scale of incompetence of the entire ministry, but also of all agencies, because there has been an uncontrolled, thoughtless replacement of personnel solely to appoint cronies, rather than individuals who know their stuff, who can make the best possible decisions and help farmers – stated Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz at a briefing in the Sejm.

- In response to information about a controversial title allegedly found for sale in one of the newsstands within the Sejm, the Sejm Information Centre clarifies that the Chancellery of the Sejm leased the space for this business activity to RUCH S.A., a company that won a tender. This means that this company is responsible for the selection of press titles and their display. It is also worth emphasizing that the individuals selling press at points on the Parliament's premises are not employees of the Chancellery of the Sejm, nor are they individuals employed by this institution under civil law contracts - informed the Director of the CIS, Andrzej Grzegrzółka, to 300POLITYKA, referencing Michał Kamiński's post about the Sejm's newsstand.

"Referring to the general accusations directed at the title in question, it is worth noting that two important legal acts are in force in Poland in this context. According to Article 54, paragraph 2 of the Constitution, preventive censorship of the media and licensing of the press are prohibited. At the same time, it should also be emphasized that, according to Article 20 of the Press Law, the publication of the press requires registration in the district court competent for the publisher's seat. In turn, Article 22 of this regulation indicates that the registration authority may suspend the publication of a daily newspaper or periodical for a specified period, not exceeding one year, if a crime has been committed in that daily newspaper or periodical at least three times within one year. From the above, it follows that the appropriate addressee of any applications in this regard should be law enforcement agencies, not the Chancellery of the Sejm."

- I know, because that is reality, and those are also the laws of today's world and the system we live in, democracy, that there may be those who will criticize. There are also those who are already criticizing today. I only regret the situation when those who themselves lacked the courage to make decisions regarding the acquisition of funds, who perhaps intellectually were not capable of acquiring resources for the Polish army, are criticizing. Perhaps they had too weak a position to acquire these resources. Either way, in a sense, one can say that they were failures in this regard, and this process is still ongoing today. Even though 30 years have passed since 1989, and we have been in NATO for 20 years. We still have a lot of this old, former post-Soviet equipment that should have been retired long ago. This is our great task - stated President Andrzej Duda at the Presidential Palace, during the awarding of general nominations.

. This also represents colossal sums of money, great trust from Polish society, that they agree to this modernization, such enormous costs. We must be grateful for this, although it is, of course, also done for the safety of our citizens, perhaps primarily for that reason. Is it necessary? Yes, today it is not only necessary. Today it is absolutely essential. If we look at the security architecture in the world or in our part of Europe, it is obvious to everyone that we must modernize our army, that it must be larger, more numerous, more modern, better equipped. That we need fifth-generation aircraft, new helicopters. That we had to make purchases such as the acquisition of the Patriot system, the Wisła. That we had to acquire equipment such as the HIMARS system, which truly places us among modern, well-equipped armies. And that we must continue this. Huge sums of money are to be spent for this purpose by 2026, which are unimaginable for the ordinary citizen. This is also a great responsibility that rests on you as well - PAD continued.

„We are hearing rumors about the second stage of the justice system's deformation, the second stage of the takeover of the judiciary by PiS politicians. Minister Ziobro is announcing a deformation consisting of flattening the judicial system. The positions of district, regional, and appellate judges will be abolished. Judges will be introduced, deceptively called 'justices of the peace,' but in reality, they will be individuals without legal education. In our assessment, this is a purely personnel-driven attack on the remaining independence of the judiciary. „What Zbigniew Ziobro is proposing is the elimination of judges who are independent today, who defend judicial independence” – added Robert Kropiwnicki – „This aims to promote those who are subordinate to the Minister of Justice, who agree with the current National Council of the Judiciary”.

“I confirm – April 3rd and 4th – an additional Sejm session, during which we will process the legislative proposals from PiS’s ‘five-point plan’. The first three topics discussed will be: ‘Emerytura+’, transport connections, and family support, meaning the ‘500+’ program for every child. “Let’s be clear. The LGBT issue was brought up by today’s opposition, by Rafał Trzaskowski, and attributing the issue to PiS or the triggering of the issue by PiS is absurd and ridiculous. We’ll see what happens. More and more people are reacting negatively to the declarations. And these are people associated with today’s opposition. This is their problem, not ours. Our role and assessment is to protect children and support families. We will speak loudly about this because we have the right to do so. In our assessment and in accordance with Polish law, marriage is a union between a woman and a man. We will protect Polish families and children from the content contained in the WHO. We have the right to do so,” said PiS spokesperson, Deputy Marshal Beata Mazurek, at a press conference in the Sejm.

The Sejm's Regulations Committee has adopted the statement by MP Stefan Niesiołowski regarding his voluntary renunciation of parliamentary immunity. The decision was made during a committee meeting on Tuesday.

Niesiołowski, a prominent figure in Polish politics and a long-serving member of parliament, had previously announced his intention to waive his immunity in connection with ongoing legal proceedings. The exact nature of these proceedings has not been publicly disclosed in detail, but the move by Niesiołowski signifies his willingness to face legal scrutiny without the protection of parliamentary privilege.
