Kluzik-Rostkowska on GW Publication: All Nefarious Undertakings by PiS Associates Will Become Even More Nefarious and More Numerous

- We know there are people in PiS who misuse their power in a nefarious way. Just look at yesterday, Bartłomiej M., Deputy Minister of Health, who had to resign, a man protected by one of PiS's vice-presidents, who manipulates tenders in KGHM. These are all matters where PiS uses its power to deceive. We already have several cases being investigated by the prosecutor's office, and now the consequence of this publication [by Gazeta Wyborcza] will be that Jarosław Kaczyński, who until now had the image of a tough man who demands and does everything to prevent such situations, will now... Today, after this publication, Kaczyński, who is creating a very secret undertaking, is doing everything to ensure that no one finds out about it. In my opinion, he is absolutely losing his power. Consequently, all these nefarious undertakings involving people connected with PiS will become even more nefarious and there will be more of them – stated Joanna Kluzik-Rostkowska in an interview with Konrad Piasecki on TVN24's "Piasecki's Conversation".

Gowin on Kaczyński's Tapes: It's a Record of Normal Business Negotiations. There's Absolutely Nothing Extraordinary About It

"I have a sin on my conscience, because yesterday evening I asked a friendly entrepreneur from the construction industry to wake up early this morning and read it. We both have the identical impression. This is a record of normal business negotiations. There is absolutely nothing extraordinary about it" - said Deputy Prime Minister Jarosław Gowin on Jedynka radio.

Kluzik-Rostkowska on GW Publication: It Significantly Weakens Kaczyński and Could Have Serious Consequences

- We've been wondering for a long time what might happen in PiS if Jarosław Kaczyński leaves, becomes ill, or weaker. In my opinion, we will see how things unfold, but this situation could weaken Kaczyński so much within PiS that all those movements we've been wondering about for a long time will now materialize, thus weakening the party - stated Joanna Kluzik-Rostkowska in a conversation with Konrad Piasecki on TVN24's "Rozmowa Piaseckiego". She added:

"Since Kaczyński is the most important figure in Polish politics, such an image-damaging event could also have repercussions in a broader context. What are the police officers, who fought for raises for a very long time and only received something due to a certain blackmail situation, supposed to think today? What are the teachers supposed to think... Well, what they have in common is that it turns out Kaczyński essentially says: we must win elections, both in Warsaw and Poland, to build these double towers. So, the entire narrative about good change, high standards, a better future, building a vision based on one's convictions about how Poland should look, boils down to the need to win elections."

- I am convinced that this publication [by Gazeta Wyborcza] significantly weakens Jarosław Kaczyński precisely in this context and it could have its serious consequences - added the Civic Platform MP.

08:09

Gowin:

GW and Giertych Engaged to Convince Poles That Kaczyński Understands Business and is an Honest Man

"If there is anything politically groundbreaking [in the recording], then this groundbreaking aspect lies in the fact that Gazeta Wyborcza and Roman Giertych have engaged with great determination to convince Poles that Jarosław Kaczyński understands business and is an honest man. Both of these are news items, at best, on the scale of Gazeta Wyborcza," said Deputy Prime Minister Jarosław Gowin on Radio Jedynka.

08:17

Gowin:

My Knowledge on the VAT Scandal is Close to Zero

I should definitely have appeared before that commission [on Amber Gold] and I had extensive knowledge on the matter. Even members of the commission from opposition parties emphasized that, unlike many other witnesses, I did not shy away from answering difficult questions. In the case of the VAT scandal, my knowledge is close to zero” – said Deputy Prime Minister Jarosław Gowin in an interview with Jedynka radio.

08:19

Trzaskowski:

It's clear the goal was that if PiS had won in Warsaw, it would have been easier to pursue millions in interests for the political party

- A million threads. First and foremost, it's interesting to me, and always has been, why the elections in Warsaw were so incredibly important for PiS, to make it a topic on public television that practically didn't leave the schedule from morning to night. It's never been the case that it was given such importance. Now it's clear the goal was that if PiS had won in Warsaw, it would have been much easier to pursue millions in interests for the political party - stated Rafał Trzaskowski in an interview with Beata Lubecka on Radio Zet, when asked about the publication in "Gazeta Wyborcza".

08:21

Trzaskowski:

Kaczyński Hasn't Acted Like a Businessman Securing Millions for His Party; If PiS Got Cash Injection, They'd Likely Demand End to State Funding

- It is unusual that this is a company controlled by politicians who have always said they want to expose the network of those who have enriched themselves at the expense of state property, and here we have the PiS party, which has enriched itself at the expense of state property and wants to build an investment worth hundreds of millions. So far, Jarosław Kaczyński has not acted as a tough businessman securing hundreds of millions for his party. I wonder, if they manage to build this building and actually get an injection of hundreds of millions annually, perhaps 80 million annually for PiS, they would probably immediately demand that the party no longer be financed by the state budget. Then it would be interesting to see who could compete with them in the political market - stated Rafał Trzaskowski in an interview with Beata Lubecka on Radio Zet, when asked about a publication by "Gazeta Wyborcza".

08:24

Trzaskowski:

We See PiS Has Enriched Itself with State Assets

- PiS has always presented itself as a party fighting the system, as 100% idealistic, and now we see that PiS has enriched itself with state assets, and its primary concern is doing business, not the matters it has spoken about until now – stated Rafał Trzaskowski in an interview with Beata Lubecka on Radio Zet.

08:29

Trzaskowski:

Dąbrowa Said He Won't Write in Such Poetics

- I am satisfied [with Kamil Dąbrowa's work], although we discussed his writing style on private Twitter, because it might not be a poetics that suits everyone. We talked about it. I told him one thing: that Twitter in politics, that a commentator, a journalist, is one thing, and someone who represents the City Hall is another, and here there is no room for provocations or various kinds of sarcasm, because nobody understands it - said Rafał Trzaskowski in an interview with Beata Lubecka on Radio Zet.

When told that he was quite mild, the Mayor of Warsaw replied: - Why mild? I said I didn't like it. Yes. He said he wouldn't write in such poetics because it completely doesn't suit the office. He also emphasized that there is no doubt that he is one of the most competent people and he is not surprised that he won the competition.

Jakubiak on Kaczyński's Tapes: I Read Them and Frankly, I Don't See the Bomb, the Mine, or Any Scandal There

Sensational is a strong word for this. I read it and frankly, I don't know where the bomb is, where the mine is, where any scandal is at all. The fact that Mr. Jarosław Kaczyński showed prudence, because he assumed that the Civic Platform, after he took on a credit commitment of 1.3 billion PLN, would start throwing obstacles in his path, and he would be left with the credit, the debts, the dug-up land, and without his own office building. One has to say that he is simply prudent” - said Marek Jakubiak in an interview with Robert Mazurek on RMF FM.

09:53

Jakubiak:

I Don't Believe in Miracles, the Civic Platform Wouldn't Exploit This. If They Could Hinder Kaczyński, They Absolutely Would

“[Kaczyński] simply didn't step into the minefield, with a smile. I don't believe in miracles, that the Civic Platform wouldn't exploit this. If they could have hindered him, they absolutely would have. And here, Mr. Editor, at this moment, I wanted to say the following to Jarosław Kaczyński: Mr. President, if there were economic freedom in Poland, you wouldn't have to worry and maneuver between politics like this” – said Marek Jakubiak in a conversation with Robert Mazurek on RMF FM.

Nowoczesna Demands Jaki's Removal from Verification Commission. Szłapka: A Man Who Was Meant to Be Kaczyński's Tool to Further Interests Shouldn't Be Investigating Irregularities

Jarosław Kaczyński has repeatedly stated that one does not seek power for money, yet recordings revealed by GW clearly show that Jarosław Kaczyński needed power primarily to pursue his own interests. He did not hide this when it came to Warsaw” – Adam Szłapka from Nowoczesna said at a press conference in the Sejm.

We are addressing Prime Minister Morawiecki, requesting the removal of Patryk Jaki from the reprivatization commission. It was Patryk Jaki who was intended to be Kaczyński's tool to reclaim Warsaw, so that Kaczyński's interests related to Srebrna could be realized. It is not normal for Jaki to continue to head a commission that was supposed to clarify matters related to reprivatization. If Jaki was meant to be Kaczyński's man who would secure his party's financial interests in Warsaw, then such a person should not be tasked with investigating irregularities” – he added.

10:52

Horała:

I'm Very Glad These Tapes of Truth Exist. They Are Tapes of Truth About Jarosław Kaczyński

I woke up quickly, bursting into laughter in contrast to the announcements that were made, to the bomb that was supposed to be. I am very glad that these tapes of truth exist. These are tapes of truth about Jarosław Kaczyński: „We are honest,” „Everything must have a basis in papers,” „We don’t want to deceive anyone.” This is precisely what Law and Justice is” - said Marcin Horała in an interview with journalists in the Sejm.

11:14

Zgorzelski on GW Publication: Recording Suggests President Kaczyński is Adept at Business Matters

- From this recording, it appears that President Kaczyński is quite adept at business matters. Until now, the President's public persona was, one might say, more focused on issues less related to economic and business affairs, but here we see that he knows how to look after his party's interests - stated Piotr Zgorzelski in an interview with Jacek Prusinowski on Radio Plus.

11:22

Zgorzelski suggests a WKK conference this week, Lubnauer and Czarzasty on the coalition:

I would like to announce this very preliminarily, without prejudging.
"Regarding the EP elections - this is the moment to create what the PSL leader has been effectively building all along, i.e., a partnership group of parties called the political, rational center around PSL, Nowoczesna, our friends from the broadly understood left, the Greens, European Democrats, and many other smaller circles, as well as non-governmental organizations," stated Piotr Zgorzelski in an interview with Jacek Prusinowski on Radio Plus. He added:
"Most concisely, one could say a tripartite agreement. I like to call it that because it captures the essence that this political center, as a prominent political expert, advisor to Prime Minister Pawlak, says, it's worth closing the third vertex of the triangle and opposing this duopoly, so that Poles are not solely condemned to choose between PiS and PO."
- It's worth counting ourselves in for the EP, to practice this formula. [As of today] a very probable [scenario]. Perhaps still this week, the leaders will come out and present information to the public opinion, to you journalists in the Sejm - added the PSL politician. When asked if a conference involving Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, Katarzyna Lubnauer, and Włodzimierz Czarzasty would take place this week, he replied: - I would like to announce this very preliminarily, without prejudging.

11:27

Spychalski on GW Publication: More of a Damp Squib, Still Wet. Nothing to Shout About

"We had information that a big bomb would explode and blow everything away. It's more of a damp squib, still wet. There's nothing to shout about," said the President's spokesperson, Minister Błażej Spychalski, on the Catholic radio station "Siódma9" morning broadcast.

11:37

Petru Reports Kaczyński to the Prosecutor’s Office:

Let’s Not Fall for PiS’s Narrative That Everything There Is Legal.

Let’s not fall for PiS’s narrative that everything there is legal. Jarosław Kaczyński, as seen in these recordings, is acting in disguise. Through another company, the Srebrna company is trying to build skyscrapers with money it is to receive from a state bank, which are then intended to finance PiS’s operations. However, there is an element here that is suspicious in this entire conversation formally, and therefore I am submitting a motion, a notification to the prosecutor’s office concerning the suspicion of a crime under Article 304 of the Code of Criminal Procedure § 1, namely that, by invoking political influence, MP Kaczyński wants to secure a loan from a state bank – stated Ryszard Petru at a briefing in the Sejm.

11:40

Spychalski on yesterday's CBA arrests: The state is efficient, it works

"I emphasized that the state is efficient, that it works. It is good that services also have no problem bringing charges against individuals who were associated with the ruling camp," said the President's spokesperson, Minister Błażej Spychalski, on the Catholic radio station 'Siódma9' during their morning program.

12:09

Mazurek on GW Article: A Complete Flop. Revealed Conversations Show Kaczyński as an Absolutely Honest Man

- In our assessment, [the article in "Gazeta Wyborcza"] turned out to be a complete flop. It contains absolutely no evidence of any illegal activities by PiS politicians or President Kaczyński. There is not a shadow of a doubt that there are absolutely no proofs of actions contrary to the law. President Kaczyński, during this conversation, actually reveals the whole truth about how Civic Platform governed in Warsaw. He describes the reality in Warsaw where individuals or companies not affiliated with the city hall have no possibility of obtaining consent to carry out investments in Warsaw. And the most important aspect of this conversation, in our opinion, is President Kaczyński's statement about Civic Platform politicians, Hanna Gronkiewicz-Waltz and Marcin Kierwiński, who threatened that they would never allow this type of investment to be built. In our assessment, only this fragment is suitable for the prosecutor's office - stated Beata Mazurek at a briefing in the Sejm.

- The revealed conversations show one thing: that Jarosław Kaczyński is an absolutely honest man, that he is ready to bear or cover obligations, but only and exclusively when there are appropriate documents and a legal basis for it. This article in "Gazeta Wyborcza" is another installment of the war that this milieu is waging against our camp, the PiS camp, against President Kaczyński, without regard for the facts. In light of this, another, I think, very significant and important thing comes to mind. We have reached a time where we hear from the lips of a politician, the leader of PiS, that everything must be in accordance with the law. This is what causes scandals, and paraphrasing what is currently circulating on the internet, one can say: I can't believe it - added the PiS spokesperson.

12:11

Gowin:

Kaczyński's Business Acumen is an Asset, in My Opinion

"I don't find anything there that would in the slightest undermine President Kaczyński's integrity. The fact that he has demonstrated competence in the business sphere is an asset in my assessment. I wish for individuals who hold important roles, even if not official positions, to understand the workings of economic mechanisms," said Deputy Prime Minister Jarosław Gowin in an interview with journalists in the Sejm.

12:11

Gowin:

Kaczyński Acted as Foundation Board Member, Not PiS Leader; No Conflict of Interest
"Kaczyński undertook these actions not as the leader of Law and Justice, but as a member of the foundation's board, which owns the Srebrna company. I do not believe we are dealing with any conflict of interest. Regarding the role of Pekao, a commercial bank that was ready to grant a loan, this matter needs clarification, but I see nothing questionable in a bank being ready to grant a loan for an investment in a city like Warsaw," said Deputy Prime Minister Jarosław Gowin in an interview with journalists in the Sejm.

12:12

Gowin:

It speaks well of Kaczyński's relationship standards with his guests that there were no 'noise-makers' or officials checking them at the entrance.

Jarosław Kaczyński does not hold any formal position that would justify him being granted protection. It rather speaks well of Jarosław Kaczyński's relationship standards with his guests that there were no 'noise-makers' or officials checking guests before their entrance” – said Deputy Prime Minister Jarosław Gowin in an interview with journalists in the Sejm.

12:17

Terlecki:

We're a Bit Surprised that GW Published a Eulogy for Our Leader
We are a bit surprised that 'Gazeta Wyborcza' is publishing a eulogy for our leader, Chairman Jarosław Kaczyński. We don't know if this means the newspaper's political line is changing. This text presents an image of a politician who is extremely competent in the areas of economics and law. Law is not a surprise, because we all know the Chairman has a doctorate in law, but here he also shows excellent orientation in economic matters, which is also not a surprise, as he was, after all, the Prime Minister. But of course, the most important thing is what our spokesperson [Mazurek] said, that he is a person who unequivocally adheres to the law and does not want to agree to any talks or agreements that bypass financial documents, which should be presented for the contractor's claims to be executed. So we are surprised. If we had some print media, newspapers, we would gladly reprint this text, so that Poles would have a greater opportunity than just the readers of 'Gazeta Wyborcza' to see how our party's chairman operates in accordance with the law and how honest he is – stated Ryszard Terlecki at a briefing in the Sejm.

12:22

Mazurek:

Statements by PO MPs will be Analyzed
Both PiS and Jarosław Kaczyński have been fighting for honesty in public life and against corruption for years. Absolutely nothing has changed in this regard. He is a person who absolutely does not hide his assets, and the state is well aware that the only things he owns are an inheritance from his parents amounting to 1/3 of a house in Żoliborz, and income from his salary and pension. The statements made today by PO politicians, members of the Civic Platform, will be analyzed, and if there are grounds to forward these conclusions, these statements, to the prosecutor's office or courts, we will certainly do so. Brejza's scandalous statement regarding Barbara Skrzypek, scandalous because it gives the impression that women cannot understand finance or manage foundations or sit on such foundations, is unacceptable – stated Beata Mazurek at a briefing in the Sejm. She added that Barbara Skrzypek is not Jarosław Kaczyński's secretary, but the director of his parliamentary office.

12:51

Civic Platform to file criminal complaint against Kaczyński for exceeding authority and leveraging influence. Brejza: We demand to know who you are and what you own.

"Today, the myth of Jarosław Kaczyński's personal honesty and modesty collapses. A myth worth one billion zlotys. A modest and honest man is, before our very eyes, becoming the manager of a billion zlotys to which he has no right. We are witnessing a man who, while pretending to be an ordinary MP, conducts business dealings straight out of "The Sopranos", where a billion zloty fortune is managed through a secretary and a driver, who clearly have no right to this fortune. Before our eyes, a plan is emerging, the fulfillment of which requires winning the election, and the goal of this plan is simple greed" - said Cezary Tomczyk of Civic Platform at a press conference.

"We are calling on Jarosław Kaczyński to reveal his entire assets. From this conversation, Jarosław Kaczyński emerges as an oligarch, a man who deals with hundreds of millions of zlotys. We are calling on Jarosław Kaczyński to answer the question of who you are and what you own" - appealed Krzysztof Brejza.

"These are the conversations of a businessman, not a politician. These are the conversations of a man who is in politics to implement economic ventures" - added Marcin Kierwiński - "Civic Platform will file a report with the prosecutor's office in this matter related to paid protection, leveraging influence, and exceeding the powers of an MP in order to gain financial benefits. It cannot be that a man who has always presented himself as an ordinary MP, and who actually ruled Poland, today presents himself as a modest, honest man, while in reality managing assets worth millions".

13:07

Morawiecki:

The alleged scandal presented by Gazeta Wyborcza is one of the biggest flops since WWII
This is a text that, for me, shows with what enormous determination the 'Gazeta Wyborcza' circle has been fighting Jarosław Kaczyński, and previously Lech Kaczyński, for almost 30 years, though today also against the memory of Lech Kaczyński, and what manipulations, what further great manipulations, they are capable of resorting to. Jarosław Kaczyński, described in this conversation, behaves in a completely honest manner in a very clear way. He not only shows that the reality emerging from this entire picture is very brutal. If a company, some entity, is not connected to Civic Platform and the power exercised by Civic Platform in Warsaw, then it cannot, in a normal, natural way, obtain normal conditions for development, proper for any citizen, any company. Not only is there no shadow, in this conversation, of any evidence of improper conduct by PiS politicians, but there is a full confirmation of honesty, credibility, solidity, and thoroughness of action, a desire to settle accounts with this businessman who clearly has a mess in his papers and cannot present these invoices. Come on, man, present the invoices. Anyone who wants to pay, please show me the invoice, and then I'll pay. I request a listing of the activities that were performed, and unfortunately, there is nothing of the sort there. Thus, the alleged scandal that 'Gazeta Wyborcza' presented is one of the biggest flops discovered, perhaps since World War II. I believe it is not a bomb at all, but unfortunately, another great manipulation - stated Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki at a press conference in the Chancellery of the Prime Minister.

- President Kaczyński, during these described conversations, simply recommends suspending preparatory work. Certain works that were commissioned, because apparently, the person on the other side is unable to properly account for the executed tasks that were assigned to him. And such actions by President Kaczyński, in the face of blocking by the Civic Platform authorities in Warsaw, blocking normal investments… Let's ask ourselves, how many normal investors are also being blocked because they don't belong to them. I think many people are now nodding their heads, that this is exactly how it is - added the head of the Polish government.

- The truth is that Jarosław Kaczyński is a guarantor of honesty for all of Poland, credibility, and thoroughness. This is very clearly visible in this conversation as well - stated Morawiecki.

PMM:

GW Becomes, Unwittingly for Sure, Kaczyński's Advocate for Integrity

- One could say that "Gazeta Wyborcza" is becoming, well, unintentionally certainly, an advocate for Jarosław Kaczyński's integrity. I am fully convinced that if someone reads it and reflects on it, they will arrive at precisely that conclusion: that this attempt to strike at a man, a symbol of integrity, who has proven it throughout his entire life, is and will be a complete failure - stated Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki at a press conference in the Chancellery of the Prime Minister (KPRM). - It was supposed to be a bombshell, but it turned out to be a soap bubble that just needs a finger poke to burst - he added.

Pekao Bank CEO Not a Member of the Credit Committee

- Bank Pekao is a commercial bank focused on maximizing value for investors and clients. For the second year in a row, Bank Pekao S.A. has received the title of Best Corporate Bank in Poland (Best Corporate Bank in Poland 2018) awarded by the international magazine Global Banking and Finance Review, as well as the title "The Best Investment Bank in Poland 2018" from the international magazine Global Finance. Pekao participates in the most important structured and leveraged financing transactions on the Polish market, and is a leader in the corporate bond issuance market – every second large Polish company is our client. The bank is also a leader in financing commercial real estate in Poland. The bank's reputation is also reflected in one of the lowest risk cost ratios in Poland - it was emphasized in the statement by Bank Pekao S.A.

"Every corporate client credit process at Bank Pekao involves the examination and analysis of the client's creditworthiness, which is described in a credit opinion. In accordance with the Banking Law, the Bank makes the granting of a loan conditional on the borrower's creditworthiness. Creditworthiness is understood as the ability to repay the loan along with interest within the deadlines specified in the agreement. The borrower is obliged to submit documents and information necessary for assessing this creditworthiness upon the bank's request.

The credit opinion is then submitted for a decision to the appropriate level of authority within the bank. Transactions that exceed defined monetary thresholds, concern public persons, or are subject to other specific restrictions (e.g., certain economic sectors, including commercial real estate financing) are submitted for the decision of the bank's credit committee. The credit committee is a body composed of three vice-presidents and several directors of departments with many years of experience in banking and handling credit transactions. The Bank's CEO is not a member of the credit committee.

At the same time, we remind you that in light of the provisions of the Banking Law, the bank and its employees are obliged to maintain banking secrecy."

Energy Security is Incredibly Important Today, Almost as Much as Military Security
Energy security is incredibly important today, it is almost as important as military security, which is why we must strongly focus on new solutions, hence the expansion of the LNG terminal to a capacity of 7.5 billion cubic meters for receiving liquefied gas. Hence, this very important and very positive decision today ensures increased energy security, but also, and this is very important, economic benefits for Poles - stated Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki at a conference at the Chancellery of the Prime Minister. The government, at its session today, adopted a draft act on the preparation and implementation of strategic investments in the oil sector.

Dubois:

On behalf of Birgfellner, we filed a report with the prosecutor regarding fraud. Our client was misled. He has not received payment to this day. We are talking about several million zlotys.

Our client believes he was misled. To this day, he has not received payment. We are talking about an amount of several million zlotys. Because, in our opinion and the client’s opinion, all the elements of a criminal offense as defined in the Penal Code, namely fraud, have been exhausted, we have filed a report. We are currently awaiting the prosecutor's decision. We suspect that an order to initiate proceedings in this case should be issued, in which we have established ourselves as the proxies of the victim” – said lawyer Jacek Dubois at a press conference, representing Gerald Birgfellner.

The transcript was not submitted because the report is based on documents. Two boxes of documents were submitted confirming the fact that the order was carried out for over a year, documentation of the order's acceptance, documentation related to issuing invoices for the order and the refusal to pay. The transcript is not part of the report at this stage, but it can become evidence” – he added.

The report concerns Mr. Jarosław Kaczyński, who, on behalf of the Srebrna company, asked our client to supervise all activities related to the execution of the skyscraper construction order. It involved a lot of actions, concerning the establishment of special purpose vehicles, architectural concepts, valuations and the structure of investment management, and obtaining financing” – explained lawyer Dubois.

Karczewski on GW Publication: A Small Firecracker. A Description of the Virtually Crystal-Clear President Kaczyński, Who Said What Every Honest, Solid Person Should Say in Such a Situation

- I smiled at the end of this reading, because, as many commentators say, it's a big firecracker. But I can say it's a small one. These are things that shouldn't be subjected to such criticism at all. It's a description of the virtually crystal-clear President Jarosław Kaczyński, who said what every honest, solid person should say in such a situation - Stanisław Karczewski said in an interview with TVP Info.

Focuses on 5 Programmatic Points: Nowoczesna to Present 'You Have the Right' Spot on Thursday

- You have the right to live in a modern state. You have the right to freedom. Our freedoms are inalienable - says Katarzyna Lubnauer in the spot, which 300POLITYKA has seen. The official presentation will take place on Thursday at the Cinema City cinema in Warsaw's Arkadia and will be combined with a press briefing. - You have the right to simple, transparent, and unambiguous taxes. We will eliminate absurdities in the economy - says Paweł Pudłowski in the clip.

As our interlocutors explain, the "You Have the Right" spot aims to remind of Nowoczesna's values and goals, focusing on 5 programmatic points: You have the right to be entrepreneurial, You have the right to a secular state, You have the right to choose, You have the right to clean air, You have the right to European values.

During the press briefing, the politicians of Nowoczesna appearing in the spot will expand on the presented goals and present their latest postulates. Katarzyna Lubnauer, Paweł Pudłowski, Marek Szolc, Monika Rosa, and Adam Szłapka will speak during the briefing.

The spot will be available on Nowoczesna's communication channels on social media, among others, and is intended to be the first in a series of films about the party's postulates and values. It will be part of a marketing campaign targeting social media.

Schetyna:

For Years, Kaczyński Searched for a Deal. It Turns Out He's Building It Himself

Grzegorz Schetyna, the leader of the Civic Platform (PO), stated that Jarosław Kaczyński, the leader of Law and Justice (PiS), had been searching for a political “deal” or “arrangement” for years, but it has become apparent that he is now constructing it himself.

This statement was made in reference to a post on the official PO Twitter account (https://twitter.com/schetynadlapo/status/1090264946036793351?s=12), implying that Kaczyński's actions and political maneuvers are not driven by external influences but rather by his own strategic agenda.

Schetyna's commentary suggests a critique of Kaczyński's leadership style and political strategy, portraying him as the architect of his own political landscape rather than a respondent to existing political conditions or agreements. The phrase "szukał układu" (searched for a deal/arrangement) implies a long-term objective or a desire to establish a specific political order. The observation that "Okazało się, że buduje go sam" (It turns out that he is building it himself) shifts the focus to Kaczyński's agency and self-directed efforts in shaping this political arrangement.

Trzaskowski Meets Dulkiewicz

The Mayor of Warsaw, Rafał Trzaskowski, met with the acting Mayor of Gdańsk, Aleksandra Dulkiewicz.

The meeting took place on January 28, 2019. Trzaskowski published a photo from the meeting on his Twitter account with the caption "Meeting with Aleksandra Dulkiewicz, acting Mayor of Gdańsk. We discussed current issues and future cooperation.".

The meeting was attended by the Mayor of Warsaw, Rafał Trzaskowski, and the acting Mayor of Gdańsk, Aleksandra Dulkiewicz. The participants discussed current issues and future cooperation between the two cities.

The meeting was held at the initiative of Rafał Trzaskowski. He expressed his hope that the meeting would be the beginning of fruitful cooperation between Warsaw and Gdańsk.

Many are encouraging me to return to politics. Today I definitely received a powerful argument to return. I will think it over very carefully.

- Many of you are encouraging me to return to politics. Today I definitely received a powerful argument to return. I will think it over very carefully. I'll tell you one thing today: the tools may change, but the goal remains the same - a fair and efficient state that listens to the voice of its citizens. I encourage you not to be afraid, to take action, to follow our example, and to protest loudly when injustice occurs. This is precisely the true democracy that professional politicians fear - wrote Jan Śpiewak on Facebook.

Sasin on Recordings Published by GW: I Wouldn't Call It Business Negotiations. It Was More of a Conversation on How to Settle Certain Obligations Arising from an Investment That Couldn't Be Completed.

- I wouldn't call it business negotiations. It was more of a conversation on how to settle certain obligations that arose from an investment that couldn't be completed. This is because there's no normal way to build anything in Warsaw, meaning there's no normal situation for investors. Across a large area of Warsaw, there are no spatial development plans - said Jacek Sasin in an interview with Marcin Zaborski on RMF FM's 'Afternoon Conversation'.

Sasin on GW Publication: The Goal Was to Discredit PJK with Material That Is Not Compromising in Any Way
The goal was to somehow discredit President Jarosław Kaczyński with material that is not compromising in any way. If someone wants to read the transcript of this conversation, it actually shows the opposite – that we are dealing with a truly honest person who wants to get out of a difficult situation that arose from the unlawful actions of the Warsaw local government - said Jacek Sasin in a conversation with Marcin Zaborski on RMF FM's "Afternoon Talk".

Presidential Team on Rudna Mine Shock: PAD in Constant Contact with National Security Bureau, Minister of Energy, and KGHM Authorities

The Presidential Team for National Security (KPRP) has commented on the recent shock at the Rudna mine. President Andrzej Duda (PAD) is in constant contact with the National Security Bureau (BBN), the Minister of Energy, and the authorities of KGHM Polska Miedź S.A. regarding this matter.

This information was shared via a tweet from the official presidential account: https://twitter.com/prezydentpl/status/1090299023012057088

Gowin:

Today I'll be having coffee, wine, or something stronger with Leszek Miller

- I choose my own partners for a coffee or wine, or even something stronger, on my own. I don't need any intermediaries for that, but thank you very much for the inspiration. Today, I will be having coffee, wine, or something stronger with Leszek Miller, because he is a politician with whom I have much in common, but also surprisingly much that connects us. On the other hand, I don't feel the need to have coffee with President Glapiński. I assume that the law on salary transparency at the NBP will be passed this week or in the near future. Then perhaps someone else, other than me, will have the opportunity to take a few deep breaths – stated Jarosław Gowin in a conversation with journalists in the Sejm, when asked about the possibility of having coffee or wine with Adam Glapiński.

Zandberg:

I am very proud that Jan Śpiewak showed and proved that Kaczyński can be stopped

- I am very proud that Jan Śpiewak, whom we supported in the Warsaw mayoral election, showed and proved that Jarosław Kaczyński can be stopped, that Jarosław Kaczyński can be forced to abandon his plans. This doesn't require a powerful parliamentary representation, but it requires perseverance and a firm ideological stance – said Adrian Zandberg in an interview with Piotr Witwicki on the program "Wydarzenia i Opinie" on Polsat News.

No Agreement Between Gdańsk Commissioner and Ministry of Culture on ECS Funding. Sellin: No One Intends to Harm This Institution. Dulkiewicz: Proposals Are Tough, Difficult
“Today, in the presence of Prime Minister Gliński as well, we discussed the future of the European Solidarity Centre (ECS) and its funding. I believe we have understood each other’s intentions, and we all agree that it is a very important institution on the map of Polish cultural institutions and those involved in historical policy and memory policy. We all have good intentions regarding the continued operation of this institution. We will certainly seek a compromise, solutions that will allow this institution to function calmly and stably. No one intends to harm this institution” – said the Deputy Minister of Culture, Jarosław Sellin. “The European Solidarity Centre has always been a great concern of the late Paweł Adamowicz. I will not hide the fact that the decisions made at the end of 2019 were a great worry for Mr. President. Today we are in dialogue. I am very grateful for this meeting to the Prime Minister and the Minister. I will not hide the fact that the proposals that were made are tough, difficult. This is extremely difficult for me” – said Aleksandra Dulkiewicz, the Commissioner of Gdańsk.

Czarzasty:

There Will Be No United Left-Wing List, Because Biedroń Will Definitely Not Be On It

There will be no united left-wing list, because Mr. Robert Biedroń will definitely not be on that list. If he is a leftist, and he does act like one from time to time, he won’t be there, because he won’t get along with either Adrian or Włodek, these two politicians sitting here. On this matter, sir, you know what, give us some time. We are talking. I want to tell you that for many years there haven't been such good contacts between left-wing parties as there are right now. We like each other, we talk, we respect each other – said Włodzimierz Czarzasty in an interview with Piotr Witwicki on the program "Wydarzenia i Opinie" (Events and Opinions) on Polsat News.

Patryk Jaki on Nowoczesna's Appeal to Remove Him from the Verification Committee: "They Discovered a Gigantic Scandal - Jaki's Connection to Kaczynski. They Must Have Hired Detectives."

"Nowoczesna has discovered a gigantic scandal - Patryk Jaki's connection to Jarosław Kaczyński. I don't know how they found out. They must have hired detectives" - said Deputy Minister Patryk Jaki in an interview with Piotr Witwicki on Polsat News' "Wydarzenia i opinie" (Events and Opinions), commenting on Katarzyna Lubnauer's party's request to remove him from the verification committee.

Śpiewak:

PiS and Kaczyński Are Losing Moral Superiority. They Can No Longer Claim to Be Better Than PO or Nowoczesna

- [Jarosław Kaczyński] is a very cynical and very capable businessman. I think that if there is any threat to him and PiS, it is not at all in the prosecution's charges, which in my opinion are difficult to bring based on the evidence, but rather in the fact that PiS and Jarosław Kaczyński himself are losing that moral superiority. They can no longer say that I am better than PO or Nowoczesna. On these tapes, he shows himself as precisely that kind of political-business wheeler-dealer who cannot be considered by the residents of Poland, of Warsaw, as someone of exceptional honesty or moral character - stated Jan Śpiewak in a conversation with Katarzyna Kolenda-Zaleska on TVN24's "Fakty po faktach".

20:15

Jaki:

Kaczyński Dedicates Most of His Time to Improving the State, with a Fraction for His Foundation

Law and Justice is not the investor. Prime Minister Kaczyński dedicates the main part of his time to making our country better, and in addition, a fraction of his time to the foundation, on whose council he sits. This foundation has various activities and companies, and these companies have various investments, and this is one of those investments. The chain to the party is so high, and someone is trying to shorten it for their political convenience and present it in a distorted mirror” – stated Deputy Minister Patryk Jaki in an interview with Piotr Witwicki on Polsat News's “Wydarzenia i opinie”.

20:19

Jaki:

These Recordings Are the Best Testimony to How Honest President Kaczyński Is

It turned out that these recordings are the best testimony to how honest President Jarosław Kaczyński is” – said Deputy Minister Patryk Jaki in an interview with Piotr Witwicki on “Wydarzenia i opinie” (Events and Opinions) on Polsat News.

Jaki on Running for EP Elections: "This is Not My Greatest Life Challenge. I'm Open to Various Options"

"I have always said that [running in the EP elections] is not my greatest life challenge. I am open to various options. For me, the most important thing is to help the United Right camp" - said Deputy Minister Patryk Jaki in an interview with Piotr Witwicki in "Wydarzenia i opinie" on Polsat News.

Śpiewak:

Kaczyński, Among Few Polish Politicians, Truly Knows How to Play Chess
We can imagine a situation where he builds these skyscrapers, has an annual rental income of several to even tens of millions of zlotys, and introduces a law that prohibits the financing of political parties from the state budget. At that point, all other parties are deprived of funds, and there is one party that possesses virtually an unlimited budget. This is extremely dangerous. Oh yes, I think Jarosław Kaczyński, among the few politicians in Poland, truly knows how to play chess and thinks about what will happen in two or three moves' perspective, rather than what will happen in the coming weeks – stated Jan Śpiewak in an interview with Katarzyna Kolenda-Zaleska on TVN24's "Fakty po faktach".

20:25

Śpiewak:

The Atmosphere Around the GW Article Was Inflated Too Much, Especially Yesterday

- This article [by Gazeta Wyborcza], I have the impression, was hyped up a bit too much, especially yesterday. The entire social media was buzzing about how this scandal would topple the government, etc. Well, no, I don't think this is that kind of major issue, so they [PiS] are trying to downplay it and wait it out – stated Jan Śpiewak in an interview with Katarzyna Kolenda-Zaleska on TVN24's "Fakty po faktach".

20:32

Dera:

Lately, I've found one logical conclusion: where tapes appear, Giertych will appear

- Lately, I've found one logical conclusion: where tapes appear, lawyer Roman Giertych appears. For now, I see only this one connection - said Andrzej Dera in a conversation with Monika Olejnik on the TVN24 program "Kropka nad i".

- And he wasn't there for Sowa [Restaurant]? - the journalist noted.

- Because that concerned members of the Civic Platform. That concerned members of the Civic Platform, and so, exceptionally, he wasn't there - stated Dera.

20:36

Śpiewak:

Kaczyński Has Become Everything He Criticized in the Early 90s

- I think Jarosław Kaczyński has become everything he criticized in the early 90s. That we are having such a great return to the 90s. That he so criticized the post-communists who enriched themselves with property, and now Jarosław Kaczyński and PiS are the new nomenclature, they are becoming the new nomenclature, and this is evident in this KNF affair, in how PiS MPs behave, how greedy they are, how they accumulate these resources, this money – stated Jan Śpiewak in an interview with Katarzyna Kolenda-Zaleska on TVN24's "Fakty po faktach".

Brudziński:

They could build tunnels along the Vistula in Warsaw, evict people and seize tenement houses, but they can't build a building for honest money because politicians from Civic Platform don't like it
- I take seriously the fact that in the center of the capital, a foundation that has land, that is applying for a loan, for a loan, cannot erect an office building solely due to political decisions, where office buildings stand a few hundred meters from this plot, because by the decision of the political local authorities of Warsaw, previously Hanna Gronkiewicz-Waltz, and today, as we hear, President Trzaskowski, this foundation cannot build there because people with whom Civic Platform disagrees sit on the foundation's authorities. They could build tunnels along the Vistula in Warsaw, evict people and acquire municipal tenement houses for a pittance, they could appoint guardians for owners aged 140 years, they could perform many miracles in Warsaw, however, they cannot build for honest money, on land owned by the foundation, as part of normal business activities that a foundation can conduct, because politicians from Civic Platform don't like it – stated Joachim Brudziński in an interview with Michał Adamczyk on TVP Info's "Gość Wiadomości".

21:01

Brudziński:

Today's Internet Users Won This Debate. The Hashtags #JaCieNieMoge and #kapiszon Dominated This Narrative

- Even if the editors of "Gazeta Wyborcza" and the politicians from Civic Platform ate a thousand cutlets and called in a thousand athletes for help, they wouldn't succeed. For 30 years, this environment, these politicians, have been trying to make Jarosław Kaczyński – forgive me for this term – an incapable person, a bumbling individual, detached from reality, the modern world, who doesn't have a bank account, a driver's license, and who has only acquired two cats in his life. With such relish and a mocking tone, they published photos of Jarosław Kaczyński standing with his shoes untied. For instance, in July last year, a scandal was made out of Kaczyński going on vacation in the same trousers he wore a year or two ago on vacation, in an old pullover, and suddenly we learn that Kaczyński is a billionaire. Well, ladies and gentlemen, who in their right mind would believe this narrative from the gentlemen editors of GW? It's an obvious absurdity – stated Joachim Brudziński in an interview with Michał Adamczyk on TVP Info's "Gość Wiadomości".

- This is not very good news for analog media, but today's Internet users won this debate. The hashtag #JaCieNieMoge and the hashtag #kapiszon dominated this narrative, and I know one thing. Poles will not buy this nonsense, and they are not buying it – added the Minister of the Interior and Administration.

Brudziński:

A Scandal Would Occur If Recordings Showed Kaczyński Ready to Dispense Funds Without Proper Legal Documentation

- Do you know when a scandal would truly arise, ladies and gentlemen? A scandal would emerge if these recordings indicated that Jarosław Kaczyński was prepared to disburse these funds, to pay, to the detriment of the foundation he represents as a member of its board of founders, without proper legal documentation, invoices, or specifications of what was performed - stated Joachim Brudziński in an interview with Michał Adamczyk on TVP Info's "Gość Wiadomości".

300ECONOMY:

Waiting for Brexit, Inglot Conquers Asia, Germany vs. China
Wednesday’s warnings from Michel Barnier that Theresa May could not make significant changes to the negotiated withdrawal agreement for her country from the European Union passed rather without comment. Thursday’s speech by May in the House of Commons had the opposite effect – even though the Prime Minister said exactly what Barnier had. Minor opposition parties were reportedly angered and vociferously demanded an extension of Article 50 or another referendum, while Labour proposed building long-term cooperation with the EU – a kind of Brexit without Brexit. May remains deaf to these requests and announced that she would present Parliament with her Plan B on January 29. (Financial Times) Chaos in the House of Commons, uncertainty in Europe, and Sergey Lavrov in excellent spirits. Asked if he was pleased about the possibility of a hard Brexit, he replied that he "always supported a strong Union," before an ironic smile spread across his face. (Rzeczpospolita) The Prime Minister of Ireland, meanwhile, has become the new "Master of Suspense." There were many bones of Brexit contention in the House of Commons, but the issue of guarantees for a lack of a hard border between Ireland and Northern Ireland (the former remains in the EU, the latter, along with England, Wales, and Scotland, still claims to be leaving) has taken center stage. It is therefore gratifying that after several months, someone has finally written about the situation from the perspective of the Irish (non-Northern); all the more so because if they were to say now that they no longer cared so much about this guarantee, the European Union would applaud, and May would have a sweet treat for her parliamentarians. So, the Irish... are waiting. PS. The Prime Minister of Ireland (the one staying in the EU) is named Leo Varadkar, and he wants the guarantee of no hard border for socio-historical and economic reasons – trade ties with Northern Ireland, as well as with the whole of Great Britain, are crucial for his country. (Handelsblatt) Meanwhile, in Stockholm, a third vote will be held today on the parliament’s acceptance of the Prime Minister candidate proposed by its speaker, Andreas Norlén. The current candidate, Stefan Löfven of the Social Democratic Party, is to head a government composed of his party, the Greens, Liberals, and Centre Party. It's a truly dynamic mix. (Handelsblatt) Germany’s Vice-Chancellor is lobbying for solutions for banks in China. Olaf Scholz, the Minister of Finance and Vice-Chancellor, has been in the Middle Kingdom since yesterday. Today, he plans to hold meetings regarding facilitating the opening of branches in the Chinese market for German banks and insurance companies. He would also like companies from his country to be able to trade Chinese securities more easily. (Handelsblatt) Polish companies are also spreading their wings in Asia. Cosmetics manufacturer Inglot plans to open its first store in China's southern neighbor – Vietnam. The boutique will be located in the Vincom Lieu Giai shopping center in the capital city, Hanoi; it will offer its customers free makeup and professional advice from qualified personnel. The official opening will take place at the end of February. Since 2006, the company from Przemyśl has opened stores in over 80 countries worldwide and continues to plan more. (retailnews.asia) However, Germany sometimes has to look to its allies and approach China assertively. The inevitable has arrived – Germany is joining the anti-Huawei alliance of the United States and Great Britain and is prohibiting the procurement of equipment from the Chinese manufacturer when constructing its 5G networks. Berlin delayed this decision for a long time due to immense pressure from Washington. However, when the University of Oxford declared that it would stop accepting funding for research and other subsidies from Huawei, Germany had to put its pride aside. After all, if Oxford is foregoing money, the matter must be very serious indeed. (Financial Times) Poland also remains in the cybersecurity climate. Today, at the Higher School of Social and Media Culture in Toruń, a conference will be held on cybersecurity in industry, the Polish-American alliance, and other 21st-century challenges. The event will be attended by Krzysztof Tchórzewski, Piotr Naimski, Antoni Macierewicz, representatives of PKP Energetyka, and CVC Capital Partners – a global private equity firm. The aforementioned companies are partners of the event. The conference will be opened by Tadeusz Rydzyk, director of Radio Maryja, and Krzysztof Krawczyk, president of CVC Polska. (Here is a copy of the conference invitation) On the other side of the Atlantic, commentators predict further tightening of economic relations between Venezuela and Turkey. Previously, Switzerland certified and refined Venezuelan gold, but fearing sanctions, it stopped doing so. Turkey has taken over this role, and since last year, the precious metal from the Bolivarian Republic has been sent there. This gold is currently the only salvation for Venezuela, which is mired in economic collapse. Why this is important: Increased trade will improve the relations of Venezuela's de facto dictator Nicolás Maduro with Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, who is increasingly consolidating power in Turkey. This will strengthen the position of both strong-arm governments on the global economic map and bolster a bloc of countries whose goals and values are often different from those of Poland and its allies. (Al-Jazeera)

Brudziński:

The services will never be used against journalists as they were under the Civic Platform's rule

- We have lived in a democratic state of law since 2015, and the services will never be used against journalists as they were under the Civic Platform's rule, when the Internal Security Agency raided the weekly 'Wprost', when the editor-in-chief had his laptop snatched because it contained those materials. Secondly, anyone with common sense, upon seeing the editors of 'Gazeta Wyborcza' posing with their editor-in-chief against the backdrop of an article that was supposed to be a bombshell today, capable of wiping PiS and Jarosław Kaczyński from the political scene, would leave it to the internet users. The deluge of memes we've seen since this morning, or rather since yesterday, when another editor-in-chief of another weekly, urging people to go to kiosks and incidentally buy his book, announced an earthquake here - stated Joachim Brudziński in a conversation with Michał Adamczyk on TVP Info's "Gość Wiadomości".

Macierewicz:

Father Rydzyk vouched for Bartłomiej M.
Many people told me they knew Bartłomiej M. and found it difficult to imagine him being dishonest. I spoke about this matter with Father Tadeusz Rydzyk, among others, who vouched for him - stated Antoni Macierewicz on TV Republika. https://twitter.com/RepublikaTV/status/1090330615315083264
