Thursday's Political Agenda: Jaki in Krynica, Trzaskowski in Praga-Południe, PAD in Lower Silesia

On the third day of the Economic Forum in Krynica, the United Right's candidate for the mayor of Warsaw, Patryk Jaki, will participate in debates organized by TVP (at 12:05 PM) and WP (at 12:30 PM), as well as a discussion panel on the digital transformation of cities (at 2:35 PM).

In the capital, the Civic Coalition's candidate, Rafał Trzaskowski, as part of the "18 Districts - One Warsaw" campaign, will meet with residents of Praga-Południe at 6:00 PM. At 8:30 AM, the Wygra Warszawa coalition and its candidate, Jan Śpiewak, will respond "to the ideas for supporting childless families announced" by the Civic Coalition.

President Andrzej Duda will visit Lower Silesia. At 4:30 PM, he will meet with residents of Zgorzelec, and at 7:15 PM - with residents of Lubań. Additionally, today at the Belvedere Palace, a ceremony will be held for ambassadors to present their letters of credence to the president.

Wójcik on Evening SMS to Prosecutors: The Method of Gathering Data and its Content Were Unfortunate

- I understand that you are referring to the SMS that was sent. The prosecution itself, through the mouth of the spokesperson for the District Prosecutor's Office in Gdańsk, as far as I know, stated that it was a very unfortunate situation. The prosecution has the right and the duty to gather such data. The method of gathering this data, via SMS, as well as its content, was unfortunate - stated Michał Wójcik in an interview with Konrad Piasecki on TVN24's "Rozmowa Piaseckiego", when asked why the prosecution needs to know and gather data on which judges are stricter and which are more lenient. He added that the prosecution does gather such statistical data, but in a different manner.

07:48

Wójcik:

I Count on the Judge's Self-Reflection. It's Difficult for Such a Person to Be in the Disciplinary Chamber
I count on there being some self-reflection from the judge, because in my assessment, it is indeed difficult for such a person [with a disciplinary record] to be in the Disciplinary Chamber. This is not my decision, but the President's, but I am counting on the judge's self-reflection - stated Michał Wójcik in an interview with Konrad Piasecki on TVN24's "Rozmowa Piaseckiego".

07:56

Wójcik:

A Regular Law Can Shorten Terms of Office. Gersdorf is a Former First President of the Supreme Court
If there is a provision that states a term of office lasts for a certain period, but does not mention shortening it, it is permissible to shorten that term of office by law. A term of office can be shortened by a regular law – stated Michał Wójcik in an interview with Konrad Piasecki on TVN24's "Rozmowa Piaseckiego". – Małgorzata Gersdorf is a former First President of the Supreme Court. She does not absolutely head the Supreme Court. Work is underway to select a First President – added the Deputy Minister of Justice.

08:00

Wójcik:

No one in Europe will allow themselves to create legal chaos

- There is no government position on this matter [the CJEU ruling]. This was about something else. To show that some rulings of the Court of Justice of the EU in various European countries are not being implemented - stated Michał Wójcik in an interview with Konrad Piasecki on TVN24's "Rozmowa Piaseckiego".

- I don't think the court will deal with this matter regarding preliminary questions. Do you know why? Because no one in Europe will allow themselves to create legal chaos. No one just suspends regulations and laws like that - added the Deputy Minister of Justice. - You have been heating things up, saying that the CJEU will address this topic, preliminary questions. As it stands, it hasn't, as is known. These are purely technical actions - he continued.

Petru:

Considering supporting Wojciechowicz in the first round, Trzaskowski in the second

- Regarding the Warsaw elections, I am considering a scenario where in the first round, I am considering, it's not a decision yet, supporting Mr. Wojciechowicz, and in the second round, Trzaskowski. To show that there are candidates who have a reasonable, pragmatic approach, and in the second round, to support Rafał Trzaskowski. This is how we have often voted in presidential elections - said Ryszard Petru in an interview with Beata Lubecka on the "Gość Radia Zet" program.

08:25

Petru:

Nowoczesna's Candidates, Most of Whom I Know, Are the Best Within the So-Called Civic Coalition

- I personally am not participating in local government elections, therefore, I will be supporting Nowoczesna's candidates, in various types of coalitions, various types of elections in individual voivodeships, because I believe that these Nowoczesna candidates, most of whom I know, are the best within the so-called Civic Coalition - said Ryszard Petru in an interview with Beata Lubecka on the program "Gość Radia Zet".

Błażej Spychalski, Marcin Mastalerek's associate, to replace Krzysztof Łapiński at the Presidential Palace - 300POLITYKI News
Błażej Spychalski, a former employee of the PiS headquarters and parliamentary club, and a long-time associate of Marcin Mastalerek, will be appointed Secretary of State in the Chancellery of President Andrzej Duda on Friday at 1:30 PM, with responsibility for overseeing the Press Office – 300POLITYKA has learned. Spychalski is 33 years old, a lawyer, and currently a councilor for the Law and Justice party in the Łódź Voivodeship Sejmik. Konrad Piasecki announced the timing of the change at the Palace earlier in the morning. Spychalski's political path has been closely linked with Mastalerek's. Spychalski served as deputy head of the PiS youth organization when Mastalerek led it. After Mastalerek was elected as a Member of Parliament and later as head of the PiS district, Spychalski resigned from his mandate as a councilor in the Greater Poland Voivodeship Sejmik and moved to Łódź. He also served as deputy plenipotentiary for the "Easier for Students" legislative initiative, which gathered 150,000 signatures. For several years, he has been the president of the largest municipal companies in Tomaszów Mazowiecki, where Marcin Witko, a PiS politician fighting for likely re-election, serves as mayor. Those who know Spychalski emphasize that he has a completely different personality from Krzysztof Łapiński, who is leaving the Palace. Therefore, one can expect less media activity from Spychalski, a greater role behind the scenes, and stronger organizational skills. Spychalski managed PiS's regional campaign in 2015 and was praised for his team management. After the 2015 elections, he organized Krzysztof Łapiński's parliamentary office. He knows PiS and its circles well, having worked for many years in the organizational office at Nowogrodzka Street and for the PiS parliamentary club. Spychalski is a father of four children: Wiktoria, Tomek, Martynka, and Wojtek. His youngest son was born a month ago. As a presidential minister, he will earn significantly less than as the president of the largest municipal company in Tomaszów.

Petru Advises Biedroń: Timing is Crucial and People Matter Most

- Regarding the main conclusions, I would advise him to choose his people well. He must choose his people well. The second issue, I can't complain about this one. Timing is the most important thing. The timing I chose, when it comes to creating Nowoczesna, was appropriate. I'll just say that launching a project in local elections, which you're not actually running in, is surprising to me. It's not optimal timing – said Ryszard Petru in a conversation with Beata Lubecka on the 'Guest of Radio Zet' program.

- I thought he would run for the mayor of Słupsk after all. Then, he would make a decision about what's next and which elections he wants to participate in, because you can't run in all of them. From what I know, he will now run for a councilor in Słupsk. Then, this needs to be explained to the voters somehow; you can't run in all elections – for a councilor, for a Member of the European Parliament, next year for parliament, and then for president. At some point, people will say: hey, where are you actually headed? Timing is the most important thing, and people are very important – Petru added.

PMM:

We Don't Look at Who's Running the Show; What Matters is Serving People Through Our Policies

In the morning, before noon, I'm heading to Tychy. A beautiful city in the Silesian Voivodeship. As you know, Tychy is run by a representative sympathetic to Civic Platform. Nevertheless, that's where I'm going to hand over funds for a very interesting investment. Perhaps I won't reveal details just yet. It's important for young local communities. We don't look at all at who's in charge there. Primarily, what's important to us is to serve people through our infrastructure policy, such as local roads, and that's how we approach it. Of course, I'm very happy if I can cooperate with a mayor like the one in Stalowa Wola – stated Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki in a conversation with Paweł Lisiecki on "Trójka's Political Salon."

09:10

PMM:

I Can Guarantee Our Cooperation with Local Governments Will Be Better and Fairer Than Under PO-PSL
With absolute certainty, I can guarantee that our cooperation [with local governments] will be far better and fairer than the cooperation of the PO and PSL governments with mayors or marshals' offices, for example in Rzeszów, because unfortunately we have a number of examples of how districts and municipalities managed by PiS were overlooked in various investments. In our case, we look at the good of the local community, although of course, the more efficient the host, the better the manager, who simultaneously loves their homeland, the better the cooperation will certainly be – stated Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki in an interview with Paweł Lisiecki on "Salon polityczny Trójki".

09:22

Schetyna:

The Campaign Has Just Begun. If It Continues at This Pace and in This Direction, I Am Very Optimistic About the Elections

The ability to form coalitions after the elections is important. PiS does not have this possibility. PiS has no partners; it is anti-local government. Four years ago, when there were local government elections, the very good result of PSL allowed us to build a coalition in 15 out of 16 voivodeships. It all has its logic. We tend to improve our results. Civic Coalition is expanding and improving point by point. It's a very slow but steady progress. The campaign has just begun. If it continues at this pace and in this direction, I am very optimistic about the elections” - said the leader of Civic Platform, Grzegorz Schetyna, during the programme „Tłit” on WP.

09:34

Schetyna:

I am convinced that the cooperation between Inicjatywa Polska and Civic Platform is a good opportunity for the future

We have given ourselves the opportunity to discuss the program. This is crucial and fundamental. Local government elections are not a matter of an anti-abortion law. We want to talk and we are giving ourselves a chance regarding the programmatic basis, concerning issues of equality, but also the fight against poverty, more money for local governments to solve people's problems. We have an agreement on this” – said the PO leader, Grzegorz Schetyna, on WP about cooperation with Inicjatywa Polska.

I am convinced that the cooperation between Inicjatywa Polska and Civic Platform is a good opportunity for the future. If we win the local government elections, then the next ones are the European elections. We treat them as a great challenge, because they will be 5 months before the parliamentary elections. Step by step” – he added.

I last spoke with Tusk in June in Brussels. When he comes here, we'll talk about the future

- I last spoke with Tusk in June in Brussels. When he comes here, we'll talk about the future. After three elections, which I am deeply convinced were won by Civic Coalition (KO), we will talk about the presidential election. In December 2019, I can say: Donald, there's something, because there's a presidential election. Wassermann got scared of Tusk, because how else can this be explained. I think she realized that there's nothing there, that this committee is a huge fake. That conversation would compromise her before the elections in Krakow. It's pathetic, to put it mildly - stated Grzegorz Schetyna in an interview with Marek Kacprzak on "Tłit" WP.

Wassermann Announces Construction of Third Municipal Hospital in Krakow
"If I become the Mayor of Krakow, a third municipal hospital will be opened in Krakow. This idea was born in my mind many months ago. Many of us, or our loved ones, sooner or later have used healthcare services, emergency aid, called an ambulance, and been brought to the Emergency Department. Almost every resident of Krakow knows how difficult this experience is. Doctors work and do what they can day and night. There are definitely too few emergency departments", said Małgorzata Wassermann, the United Right's candidate for Mayor of Krakow, at a press conference.

Bielan:

The Ambition to Replace Kaczyński as PiS Leader is Wide Open in a Dozen Years

- Objectively speaking, there are fewer personal disputes within the United Right camp than one might have expected. When it comes to the possibility of realizing the ambition to replace Jarosław Kaczyński as the head of PiS, the matter is wide open in a dozen years - stated Adam Bielan in an interview with Agnieszka Burzyńska on the program "Fakt Opinie".

Bielan also assessed that Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki "performs very well in the role of the face of a campaign aimed at broadening the ruling camp's electorate by attracting voters with moderate views."

- The level of trust in Prime Minister Morawiecki is higher than in the entire United Right camp, and in this sense, he broadens the electorate - said the Deputy Marshal of the Senate. - However, the main condition for PiS winning the parliamentary elections is whether Mateusz Morawiecki will be a good Prime Minister - he emphasized.

According to the Deputy Marshal of the Senate, the United Right is "arguably the most successful political project in the history of Polish parliamentary democracy."

Myrcha:

If individuals subordinate to Ziobro or privately linked to him enter the Supreme Court, the SC loses its character as the objective, most important body of Polish judiciary

Initially, we had an assault on the prosecution service, huge purges, dismissals based on political affiliation. Then the element of the arrangement expanded. Minister Ziobro carried out an absolute purge of administrative positions in all courts in Poland, essentially nominating his own administrative directors, i.e., those responsible for finances in each court. Then, the whole of Poland watched as purges of presidents and vice-presidents were carried out. Several hundred judges lost their jobs without any reasons given, without substantive justifications, because Minister Ziobro pointed a finger at them, and then appointed individuals solely based on political affiliation to these positions. The main criterion for selecting new, "Ziobro-appointed" presidents and vice-presidents was not merit, but the private and political relationships Minister Ziobro had cultivated for years” – stated Arkadiusz Myrcha from Civic Platform (PO) at a press conference in the Sejm.

In recent weeks, we have observed the unveiling of the backstage of constructing further elements of this arrangement. Prosecutors, who are intended to dominate the Supreme Court and step into the shoes of judges who should adjudicate impartially, have been forcefully introduced into the Supreme Court, violating law and all ethical-moral norms. If individuals subordinate to Minister Ziobro or those privately connected to him enter, the Supreme Court loses its character as the objective, most important body in the Polish justice system” – he added.

Civic Platform Files No-Confidence Motion Against Zalewska. Grupiński: Madam Minister, You Won't Escape Anywhere
Parents are protesting and complaining about this issue. They are trying, together with local governments, to improve the situation in their schools, to patch up all these holes in any way possible, to sort out all the chaos that Minister Zalewska has introduced with her decisions. Satisfied with herself, smiling, ignoring parents, ignoring children and youth, ignoring teachers. With this self-satisfaction, she apparently wants to run for the European Parliament. Well, no, Madam Minister, you won't escape anywhere. You will be held accountable for the mess and chaos in Polish schools. Our motion for a vote of no confidence is one of the elements of holding the minister accountable – said Rafał Grupiński at a press conference.

Wojciechowicz's Campaign Bus Kicks Off

A campaign bus under the banner of the "Akcja Warszawa" (Warsaw Action) initiative, associated with candidate Rafał Trzaskowski, has begun its journey through the capital.

The bus, which is an integral part of the campaign aimed at winning the mayoral election in Warsaw, was seen on Tuesday, September 4th, 2018, near the Rondo ONZ roundabout. Its presence signals the intensification of the election campaign, with candidates actively engaging with voters across the city.

The initiative, as indicated by the tweet, seeks to mobilize support for its candidate and present its vision for the future of Warsaw. The campaign bus serves as a mobile platform for outreach, information dissemination, and direct interaction with residents.

500 Million Zlotys for 3,000 Sports Facilities
As we know, a ball is round and there are two goals, but to play, you also need a pitch. That's why we responded positively to the appeal that a group of boys generally directed to people of good will. We are also simultaneously showing that we cooperate with various entities, with cooperatives, not only with local governments, but also with various entities that deal with public space, because sports fields are a very important element of space, a very important element of physical culture. This is something we care deeply about. A few days ago, when announcing the program of a good, close neighborhood, a neighborhood close to home, I also had in mind supporting local initiatives that promote physical culture, that support the activity of young people. Active playgrounds, thematic playgrounds, outdoor gyms. We will have by far the largest amount of funds, over 500 million zlotys in the next few years, allocated to three thousand sports facilities, scattered across municipalities, practically all over Poland. I can only be very happy about the fact that in many places, young boys and girls will have better conditions for play and games. And I hope that somewhere, someday, just as GKS Tychy is fighting today in the first league for promotion to the Ekstraklasa, which I certainly wish the fans of this wonderful club, but I also want boys who will play here on this pitch, just like Arkadiusz Milik comes from Tychy or Radosław Gilewicz was born near Tychy, so that young boys, future representatives of GKS Tychy or also Polish representatives, will grow up on such pitches, which will soon be perfected by the contractor, so that the boys can play on them. I want to emphasize that we want to cooperate with everyone who is a good steward of their small homelands. We are emphasizing our openness with this, and just as we fulfill promises in the government, so in our local government plan, we are a political-social formation that wants to be close to people. Hence our promises for the civic budget, which surprised our political competitors, but also modern municipalities, internet in municipalities, including where this high-speed internet does not exist. The modern municipality program, which also includes sports fields like the one we are meeting at today. It doesn't meet the standards it should, but it soon will and will be safe and meet those standards. I wish all the boys and girls much joy, success, and also, at the start of the school year, that they study well and get good grades – said Mateusz Morawiecki at a press briefing in Tychy.

Jaki:

I am strongly convinced that Warsaw's authorities are acting under the dictate of developers. I want to put an end to this.

- I am strongly convinced that Warsaw's authorities are acting under the dictate of developers, and that's why I want to put an end to this. One of the most important challenges for the new president [of Warsaw] will be to bring order to Warsaw spatially and to plan our city in such a way that it is clear how Warsaw is to develop over the next 50 years - stated Patryk Jaki during the Economic Forum in Krynica.

PM on the Independence March: I Appeal Once More to Everyone, to Our Opposition, to March Together

- The organization of a joint Independence March is very close to my heart. I appeal once more to everyone, to our opposition, to our political competitors, as well as to the organizers of the Independence Marches from past years, to march together. So that no one capitalizes on it politically. I myself declare from my side that I will go somewhere at the very back or somewhere in the middle. I will be hidden, because what matters most to me is that we march together, in one march. This is a day on which we should set aside mutual resentments and, in homage to our ancestors, those from 100 years ago, those from 98 years ago, and we are in the Silesian Voivodeship, so it's impossible not to mention the three wonderful, patriotic, independence-oriented Silesian Uprisings, which ended in victory against the might of Germany. The Silesian insurgents chose then, and from this land, I appeal for us to organize this march so that it becomes a great march of unity for our state, for our nation. For those who fear that some fascist or anti-Semitic banners might appear at the march, because irresponsible people or provocateurs might do something like that, my proposal would be that only white and red flags could be carried at this march – said Mateusz Morawiecki at a press briefing in Tychy.

14:54

PM on Election Campaign: I Want to Appear in All 16 Voivodeships, in Many County Towns, Once More

- My days are very fully occupied with work for the state first, and in the evenings, yes, I often meet with the election staff, and on Saturdays and Sundays we have a whole route planned until the end of the pre-election period, i.e., until October 21st or November 4th. I want to appear in all 16 voivodeships, in many county towns, once more and discuss various problems, just as I have been doing. I have held nearly a hundred such meetings over the past few months - Mateusz Morawiecki at a press briefing in Tychy.

15:02

Jaki:

The Entire System in Warsaw is Held Together by Scotch Tape
The entire system in Warsaw right now is held together by scotch tape. This is a bigger problem. Because if you compare it – in metro construction, Bulgaria, Romania, and Hungary have overtaken us. Waste management – all European capitals have overtaken us, because for 12 years Warsaw has not built any modern facility for waste management – stated Patryk Jaki during the Economic Forum in Krynica.

Tomorrow, Marshal's Guard Officers to Take Oath Before the Marshal of the Sejm

On Friday at noon, during a formal roll call, approximately 100 officers of the Marshal's Guard will take an oath before the Marshal of the Sejm – according to information from 300POLITYKA.

The ceremony is connected to the recent entry into force of regulations within a law that comprehensively governs the legal status of this formation. Members of the Sejm's presidium, representatives of the Council of Ministers, and the officers' families are invited to participate in the event.

The ceremony will take place on the grounds of the Sejm complex in front of Building G. Following the oath and blessing, an address by the Marshal of the Sejm is planned.

On January 26, 2018, the Sejm adopted the Act on the Marshal's Guard, which comprehensively regulated the status of this formation as a uniformed service. Among the new duties of the MG are, among others, conducting pyrotechnic and radiological reconnaissance of persons, vehicles, areas, and objects of the Sejm and the Senate.

The act also changes the status of individuals employed in the MG. Instead of being employees of the Chancellery of the Sejm, they become officers of the Marshal's Guard.

SLD Spokesperson Recalls Joński's Words About Civic Platform:

A Political Dumpster Fire Without a Program or Ideas.

Anna Maria Żukowska, the spokesperson for the Left Democratic Alliance (SLD), has reminded the public of the critical words spoken by her party colleague, Dariusz Joński, about the Civic Platform (Platforma Obywatelska). The comparison she used to describe the opposition party was particularly harsh.

"To polityczny śmietnik bez programu i idei" – these were the words attributed to Dariusz Joński by Żukowska in a tweet referencing an earlier statement. This Polish phrase translates to "a political dumpster fire without a program or ideas."

The tweet, shared on September 6, 2018, at 10:25 AM, can be found at the following link: https://twitter.com/am_zukowska/status/1037675259569364992?s=12.

This statement highlights a significant level of internal criticism within the Polish political landscape, particularly regarding the perceived lack of direction and coherent policy from one of the major opposition parties.

Duda:

Those who once oppressed should retire. I want Polish justice to be fair for all, not just a select few
“This is our Poland, our state, which we want to have its place in Europe, but which we want to be treated equally and well, which we want to be just and perceived justly. And above all, which we want to be respected. Just as I want us to be able to respect each other in our homeland. Of course, Poland is constantly in need of change. Changes are necessary. Those who once oppressed, it would be better if they went into retirement. I would like the Polish justice system to be fair for everyone, not just for some. I would like the state to recognize the Polish family, and finally, this is happening. Thanks to the 500+ program, thanks to the Good Start program for children going to school, but also thanks to the changes that Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki announced not so long ago during a convention, speaking about the need for support for local Poland,” – said President Andrzej Duda during a meeting with the residents of Zgorzelec. “We have already managed to implement several of these most important, most fundamental things, which, I am convinced, were most expected by you when we were running our campaign: lowering the retirement age, which was raised against the will of the nation, and which, unfortunately, the Constitutional Tribunal accepted at the time, which I still cannot understand. We managed to do it, we managed to lower it. It was possible. We managed to introduce the aforementioned 500+ program, so that money would finally reach Polish families with children, who simply need this money because they have too little and have too low a standard of living. 500+ is being paid out, and the money largely returns to the budget. This is also thanks to the fact that we managed to reclaim VAT from those who had been stealing it until now. Let's call things by their names. If it turns out that 40 billion more is flowing into the state budget from taxes, including VAT, then I ask, who was taking this money until now? Who was taking it from us, so that help for families could not be realized?” – added the president.

Trzaskowski's Proposals for Praga Południe: Inner-City Bypass, Improved Communal Housing, Sinfonia Varsovia

- The construction of an inner-city bypass, to be routed through a tunnel under the Wiatraczna roundabout, taking into account all the remarks made by residents of Praga Południe regarding sound barriers to separate residents from noise, that's what we're talking about – said Rafał Trzaskowski at a Town Hall Meeting with residents of Praga Południe.

- The second issue is improving conditions in communal housing. The revitalization of Kamionek and connection to the heating network. It is also incredibly important that we actually have these local problems that are being discussed in some districts. Just as we all talk about education, we talk about paving roads in Rembertów or, for example, in Białołęka or Wesoła. We are discussing connection to the heating network specifically in Praga Południe, Kamionek, Praga Północ, or Targówek. These local issues are incredibly important. The third issue is Sinfonia Varsovia, a new cultural center that is being built here. I am very happy that one of the flagship cultural investments is being built precisely in Praga Południe – Trzaskowski added.

Piotr Duda: If the government insists on its position, all that's left is to prepare for a protest
- We believe the minimum wage should be at 50% of the average salary. We are slowly approaching that, but the government's proposal takes us backward. The minimum wage should be at least PLN 2255, although our initial proposal was PLN 2267, but that's how negotiations and compromise work. After our last meeting with Minister Rafalska, we issued a statement and a letter to the Prime Minister stating that our final proposal is PLN 2255 - said Piotr Duda in an interview with Dorota Gawryluk on the program "Wydarzenia i Opinie" on Polsat News. - We will not back down. If the government insists on its position and does not withdraw this draft regulation, then indeed, after such difficult negotiations, all that's left for us is to prepare for a protest - Duda added.

19:44

Piotr Duda on Zalewska: "Solidarity" has shown the Minister a red card

- Today I know that after the section council, there is a decision about a picket organized for September 15th. "Solidarity" has shown the Minister a red card. It's not just about the raises, because "Solidarity" proposes raises for next year at the level of 15%, these are also starting proposals for negotiations. It's also about working hours. Today I heard that the Minister said this problem is solved, but the trade unionists of "Solidarity" teaching staff say this problem is not solved - said Piotr Duda in an interview with Dorota Gawryluk in the program "Wydarzenia i Opinie" on Polsat News.

- This is a last resort, but if we, as "Solidarity", take to the streets, there won't be five, ten, or twenty thousand of us, because if you want to take to the streets and show the government our strength, there must be one hundred thousand of us – Duda added.

Biedroń Isn't Interested in Local Elections. I Try to Talk to Active Politicians Because I Believe Building Coalitions is Not Easy in Poland

"Biedroń isn't interested in local elections. I try to talk to active politicians because I believe building coalitions is not an easy task in Poland. I want it to be a step-by-step process, to expand, not to threaten with some kind of destruction" - said the PO leader, Grzegorz Schetyna, on TVN24's "Kropka nad i".

"I don't call Robert Biedroń and mope. Boys don't cry, and someone who talks about opposition integration unnecessarily wants to divide it or create some rivalry. We are not rivals on the opposition side. We shouldn't compete with each other, but look for what is common" - he added.

20:23

Duda:

The Constitution Should Be Equal for All Citizens, Not Just Protect the Elite

- The state is not just local government, even if it is doing very well. The state is also central government, a Constitution that should be the same for all citizens, not just protect the elite. The state is not judges who feel impunity and courts that work slowly. This is not a just state. The state is the government that thinks about ordinary people. Those who work hard every day. I am very, very pleased that unemployment has been eliminated to such a great extent in Poland - stated President Andrzej Duda in Lubań.

20:25

Schetyna:

Trzaskowski Believes in His Victory. He is Convinced He Must Fight and Cannot Give Up

[Trzaskowski] believes [in his victory]. I talk to him every day. He is very engaged, this campaign is intense. He is very convinced that he must fight and that he cannot give up. And he will win these elections, it’s just not easy when you face someone who promises everything to everyone, has no limits. Then the conversation, the debate about the program, about plans is simply difficult” – said PO chairman, Grzegorz Schetyna, on TVN24.

Wassermann Feared Disgrace; Tusk's Interrogation Could Have Been Devastating, Ruining Her Chances for the Second Round

"I think [Małgorzata Wassermann] was more afraid of disgrace, which is why I assess this as an escape from interrogating Tusk, because that interrogation could have been devastating for her and taken away any chances, I'm not even talking about victory in Krakow, because she is not the favorite, but even for entering the second round at all. I believe that the entire concept of building an investigative commission as a hammer to strike Donald Tusk's government, the opposition, today it is clear that it's all a joke, that there are no specifics" - said the chairman of Civic Platform, Grzegorz Schetyna, on TVN24.

President Duda: Justice Returns, a Fair State Where Power Listens to Citizens and Fulfills its Commitments

- I am happy that we have managed, as I promised you during the campaign, to lower the retirement age, which the Constitution and the Constitutional Tribunal failed to defend and which, against the will of the entire nation, was raised during the previous government's term. Now we have managed to lower this retirement age. Justice is returning, a fair state where power listens to citizens and fulfills its obligations. The Prime Minister recently spoke about further commitments to local Poland. I was enormously pleased that these words were spoken publicly. This is important because local Poland means sustainable development, cities like Lubań, Zgorzelec - stated President Andrzej Duda in Lubań.
