-- NBP PRESIDENT WANTS TO SELL GOLD AND BUY IT BACK IMMEDIATELY; SUCH AN OPERATION, ON THE ONE HAND, WILL NOT DEPLETE THE NBP'S FOREIGN EXCHANGE RESERVES, AND ON THE OTHER HAND, WILL ALLOW THE REALIZED PROFIT ON THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE PURCHASE PRICE AND THE SALE PRICE OF GOLD TO BE SHOWN — ACCORDING TO A PERSON FAMILIAR WITH THE PROPOSAL'S BEHIND-THE-SCENES DETAILS "SAFE 0 PERCENT" - BARTEK GODUSŁAWSKI IN BUSINESS INSIDER: “— It would be a sale for a moment, in order to show a profit subject to payment to the state budget — our informant adds.”

-- INSTEAD OF INCURRING STATE DEBT AND RAISING TAXES, IT IS BETTER TO PAY FOR ARMAMENTS WITH MONEY FROM THE NBP - GRZEGORZ KOŁODKO ON RMF A YEAR AGO - AUGUST 29, 2025: “When the deficit is growing and expenditures are ill-considered, the NBP must take actions that would not normally be necessary — the economist says about his proposal. He adds that in the long run, "the central bank cannot solve the state's structural problems." Financial stability requires wise fiscal policy, not just monetary interventions — said Prof. Kołodko. The former finance minister put forward such a proposal because, as he explained, it would be a better solution than rapidly increasing debt and taxes. However, he himself believes that army expenditures are "bloated" and fears of war breaking out are exaggerated by "militarists." Military euphoria is sinking us — said Grzegorz Kołodko.”

-- AN AGREEMENT ON THE ISSUANCE OF BONDS GUARANTEED BY THE CENTRAL BANK SEEMS TO BE AN OPERATION THAT WOULD NOT LEAD TO A COLLAPSE OF THE EXCHANGE RATE — COMMENTS PIOTR ARAK, CHIEF ECONOMIST AT VELOBANK, IN AN INTERVIEW WITH MONEY.PL: “An agreement on the issuance of bonds guaranteed by the central bank seems to be an operation that would not lead to a collapse of the exchange rate. If we imagine that the borrowing needs for this purpose amount to PLN 30 billion this year and another 30 next year, with falling interest rates, such an intervention would not necessarily cause an increase in bond yields or additional exchange rate risk — says the economist.”

-- OLD DIESELS, EXPENSIVE TICKETS, AND A CLIQUE OF CRONIES ARE DOOMING MAYOR MISZALSKI - ANGELIKA PITOŃ IN OKO.PRESS: “Already 100,000 people have signed the petition for a referendum to recall Aleksander Miszalski. The Mayor of Krakow is desperately fighting, but in the corridors, it is heard that PO itself would gladly sacrifice Miszalski and finish the term with a completely new name.

-- THIS CANNOT BE IGNORED IN A CITY OF LESS THAN A MILLION PEOPLE. THIS IS OVER 10 PERCENT OF THE PEOPLE LIVING HERE DAILY - WRITES PITOŃ IN OKO: “Within a month, over a hundred thousand people have signed the lists supporting the convening of a referendum. This cannot be ignored in a city of less than a million people. This is over 10 percent of the people living here daily. The organizers of the campaign are still collecting signatures. For example, a photo of hospital doors, on which there is information that signatures for the referendum are being collected even in the X-ray room, is circulating online.”

-- IT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE DIFFERENT. MEANWHILE, ACTIVISTS POINT TO DOZENS OF PARTY APPOINTMENTS - CONTINUES PITOŃ IN OKO: “The politicization of the office and the employment of prominent Civic Platform politicians in high positions. A KO politician, in a TikTok video published immediately after the start of his presidency, symbolically aired out the Krakow City Hall from his predecessor's cigars, made bold personnel cuts (such as the dismissal of Maria Anna Potocka, a close associate of Jacek Majchrowski accused of mobbing), announced the sale of the presidential Lexus, as he himself rides a bicycle. It was supposed to be different. Meanwhile, activists point to dozens of party appointments.”

-- OUR INFORMATION INDICATES THAT THE CIVIC COALITION HAS ALREADY CONDEMNED ALEKSANDER MISZALSKI TO DEFEAT - STATES PITOŃ: “Our information indicates that the Civic Coalition has already condemned Aleksander Miszalski to defeat. For months, they have had no real influence over him. And they themselves would most like to replace him with someone else. Even before the specter of a referendum gained strength, there was much talk in Krakow that the Civic Coalition might nominate Monika Piątkowska as a mayoral candidate. She is a KO senator, a trusted politician of Tusk, a long-time employee of the Krakow City Hall during Majchrowski's administration, and a former president of the Grain and Feed Chamber.”
