-- CZARNEK ON THE PiS CANDIDATE FOR PRIME MINISTER: I'VE HEARD OF CONCEPTS LIKE RELYING ON SOME LOCAL OFFICIALS – 300LIVE:

-- THE RIGHT IS GOING FOR POLISH CITIES. IT STARTED IN KRAKÓW, THEN GDANSK AND POZNAŃ ARE NEXT – MAGDALENA KURSA IN GW QUOTES RYSZARD TERLECKI'S ARTICLE: “The plan is simple. Ryszard Terlecki, a PiS politician, former Deputy Marshal of the Sejm, a Krakovian who, like Andrzej Duda, once fought for the presidency of Krakow (both unsuccessfully), revealed it without mincing words in his column: 'The recall of Miszalski in Krakow could trigger a whole series of referendums. In Małopolska, Bochnia is being prepared, but on a national scale, the referendums in Gdańsk and Poznań, which have already been announced, could become a much bigger problem for Tusk' – Terlecki outlined the right-wing strategy in his column titled 'Referendum is getting closer,' published on the Kurier Krakowski portal. Terlecki also revealed that preparations in Gdańsk are already advanced, 'and opponents of the current authorities are waiting for the outcome of the confrontation in Krakow to launch their campaign.'”
-- KRAKÓW HAS BECOME A TESTING GROUND – CONTINUES KURSA IN GW: “Kraków has become a testing ground, and the experiences gained here can be used by mayors of other cities. Under pressure of a referendum, the Mayor of Krakow, Aleksander Miszalski, began to withdraw some of his decisions, especially the difficult ones. In practice, the Confederation, without governing either in the country or in cities, is already beginning to implement its agenda, concerning, for example, opposition to the European Union's pro-ecological policy. This is clearly visible in the case of the Clean Transport Zone – the Mayor of Krakow took a step back and announced a major correction to the SCT.”

-- IT WAS KACZYŃSKI AND HIS PEOPLE WHO PAVED THE WAY FOR BRAUN AND OTHER CONFEDERATIONISTS – MARIUSZ JANICKI IN THE OPINION PIECES OF THE EDITOR-IN-CHIEF OF TYGODNIK POLITYKA: “Suddenly, the party leader's party became too little anti-European and anti-German, too mild towards Ukraine, not stern enough towards immigrants, unclear on climate issues, not fighting abortion enough, etc. It was Kaczyński and his people who paved the way for Braun and other Confederationists, and now they are complaining that these proved to be diligent students, outgrew the master, and even stepped on the gas. Kaczyński must therefore chase after them, and this explains, for example, PiS's stance on the SAFE program – they are simply desperately trying to catch up on their anti-German and anti-Brussels arrears.”
-- USUALLY, WHEN TROUBLE ARISES, THE RECOMMENDED COURSE IS TO CHARGE FORWARD; THE CHAIRMAN IS CHARGING BACKWARD, DESPERATELY REMINDING THE ELECTORATE THAT PiS IS ALSO A SIMPLE, EXTREME, AND HEAVILY-HANDED RIGHT-WING PARTY – CONTINUES THE FIRST DEPUTY EDITOR-IN-CHIEF OF TYGODNIK POLITYKA: “Usually, when trouble arises, the recommended course is to charge forward; the chairman is charging backward, desperately reminding the electorate that PiS is also a simple, extreme, and heavily-handed right-wing party. The fact that PiS voters are leaving for Braun – even though 'there are various lizards there,' as the chairman put it, driving right-wing commentators, who expect a coalition of the entire right, to despair – shows the electorate Kaczyński has cultivated. And the subservience towards President Trump and his administration is also becoming an increasing burden for PiS.”
-- THIS COULD BE A HINT FOR THE DEMOCRATIC CAMP TO FINALLY BREAK FREE FROM THE SPELL OF 'WHAT WILL PiS SAY ABOUT THIS,' TO STOP CURRYING FAVOR WITH THE ELECTORATE, WHICH IS IMPOSSIBLE TO WIN OVER ANYWAY – CONTINUES MARIUSZ JANICKI: “No one from the right is aiming for the political center, nor are they swapping PiS for the ruling coalition. This could be a hint for the democratic camp to finally break free from the spell of 'what will PiS say about this,' to stop currying favor with an electorate that is impossible to win over anyway, and to refrain from succumbing to warnings at every bolder project that 'champagne will be popped at Nowogrodzka'.”
-- THE QUESTION REMAINS WHAT REPLICA THE MAIN ENGINE OF THE RULING CAMP WILL PREPARE FOR A POTENTIAL REVIVAL OF PiS, AS THE ELECTION CAMPAIGN HAS STARTED UNUSUALLY EARLY THIS TIME – JANICKI'S CONCLUSION: “The question remains what replica the main engine of the ruling camp will prepare for a potential revival of PiS. In the first half of March, Donald Tusk will renew his chairmanship mandate, and elections to all party structures will be held, and it is in the regions where the strength of each grouping is decided, and where real leaders, not just apparatchiks, are needed. This could be a moment to refresh the image of KO, to show new faces. Especially since, given the total uncertainty of the political situation, the election campaign has started unusually early this time.”

-- YOUNG LOCAL GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS IN THE PiS GAME – KAMILA BARANOWSKA IN INTERIA: “Who could be such an ace up their sleeve? Our interlocutors mention the most popular local government officials from PiS in this context: Lucjusz Nadbereżny, Mayor of Stalowa Wola, Jakub Banaszek, Mayor of Chełm, or Jarosław Margielski, Mayor of Otwock. They are all young, popular in their cities, and have political ambitions. But most importantly – they could reconcile the feuding factions. 'Morawiecki would easily agree to someone from this trio, and even the 'maślarze' (a faction associated with Mateusz Morawiecki), although disappointed, couldn't object as they would have no arguments,' believes our source.”
-- MORAWIECKI HAS DONE A LOT IN RECENT MONTHS SO THAT THE CHAIRMAN COULD NOT COMPLETELY DISREGARD HIS OPINION – CONTINUES BARANOWSKA IN INTERIA: “However, Morawiecki has done a lot in recent months so that the chairman could not completely disregard his opinion. The former prime minister is constantly traveling around Poland, meeting with MPs and activists in constituencies, and his rallies attract crowds, which he documents with photos posted online. This is also a clear signal sent to Nowogrodzka (PiS headquarters).”

-- CONFEDERATION IS TRYING TO 'DISRUPT' THE GOVERNMENT AND COALITION. IT'S DELIVERING A BLOW TO THE CENTER AND HENNIG-KLOSKA – TOMASZ NYCZKA IN GW: “Confederation is taking advantage of the moment when the ruling coalition is weakened due to the conflict between Hennig-Kloska and Pełczyńska-Nałęcz and their circles, and therefore can score political points from it. 'There is temporary confusion, conflict in the government and coalition, which can be exploited, and this is an opportunity for us,' says a Confederation politician. And he draws attention to what Hennig-Kloska is saying: 'It's never good news when a certain group says it's necessary to turn towards entrepreneurs. Grzegorz Braun has also been talking about entrepreneurs and lifting burdens for them for many weeks. There is considerable competition for this electorate.'”

-- THE FIGHT FOR REAL CONTROL OVER THE ARMED FORCES BETWEEN THE GOVERNMENT CENTER AND THE PRESIDENTIAL CENTER WILL LIKELY BEGIN WITH THE CONFLICT SURROUNDING SAFE – PROF. ANTONI DUDEK IN INTERIA: “Meanwhile, Nawrocki sees himself as the patron of the entire Polish right, which would obviously clash with the signature under the law fought against by both its wings. In fact, the president has already begun to justify his future veto, saying that 'the Polish army needs as much money as the SAFE loan contains. However, the sovereignty aspect raises doubts.' I suspect this will be the prelude to a series of meetings the president will have with the officer corps, where he reportedly enjoys considerable popularity, during which he will explain the motives for his veto and determine who is causing 'the political noise that Poland has unfortunately become a part of today.'”

-- RESIGNATION OVER KSEF – JUSTYNA SOBOLAK IN GW: “According to editorial findings, it was related to the implementation of KSeF, the National e-Invoicing System. The Ministry of Finance confirms that Marta Niżałowska-Pactwa no longer holds the position of Director General, but this is not related to the implementation of KSeF.”

-- PATRYK JAKI ANNOUNCED AFTER THE MEETING THAT 300 STUDENTS HAD ATTENDED. I COUNTED: THERE WERE ABOUT A HUNDRED PEOPLE, MAINLY PiS ACTIVISTS AND PARTY SYMPATHIZERS FROM THE UNIVERSITY OF THE THIRD AGE – MAGDALENA KOZIOŁ IN GW: “On the sidewalk, as he later wrote on Facebook, there were '300 students.' He failed to mention that mainly PiS activists and sympathizers from the University of the Third Age, and the "Gazeta Polska" Club from Długołęka, which even hung a banner, showed up. In this 'crowd,' which actually numbered 100 people (we counted with the journalists present), there were PiS councilors from Wrocław: Łukasz Kasztelowicz, Łukasz Olbert, Sławomir Śmiegielski, Andrzej Kilijanek. The party's regional assembly councilor, Damian Mrozek, also attended the meeting. They are not students, but they made up the numbers.”

-- THE DISTRICT PROSECUTOR'S OFFICE IN KRAKÓW HAS FILED AN INDICTMENT AGAINST GRZEGORZ H., THE FORMER OWNER OF THE NEWSPAPER 'RZECZPOSPOLITA.' THE CASE IS RELATED TO THE BUSINESSMAN'S INVESTMENT ACTIVITIES – PAWEŁ FIGURSKI AND MAREK MIKOŁAJCZYK ON THE ZERO PORTAL: “The investigation concluded on August 13, 2025. The Krakow prosecutor's office – in addition to Grzegorz H. – also indicted his wife and three other individuals. Ultimately, Grzegorz H. will answer in court for two offenses. These are actions detrimental to the company Dragmor by causing a reduction in the company's control over the assets of KCI Centrum Zabłocie and causing it significant financial damage. According to investigators, the damage to Dragmor was assessed at nearly PLN 20 million. In addition, in the prosecutor's opinion, there is the misappropriation of a valuable property right resulting from the State Treasury's equity interest in the assets of KCI Centrum Zabłocie. We are talking about a right worth PLN 5 million.”

-- THE OLSEN GANG WANTS TO DESTROY US. BUT THEY PICKED THE WRONG FIGHT – PATRYK SŁOWIK ON THE ZERO PORTAL: “The Open Dialogue Foundation, which receives public funding, has launched a paid campaign slandering our portal among advertisers. However, it is doing so so ineptly that it's rather comical. The brief included, among other things, the name of Krzysztof Boczek, a journalist associated with the trade magazine 'Press.' Boczek received information from his source (hehe, I wonder who) that Open Dialogue is writing to the advertisers of Kanał Zero. He contacted us, concerned, for a comment. He wanted us to explain ourselves. Are we Russian propaganda or not? Only, gentlemen Stanowski and Słowik, explain yourselves quickly, because I'm preparing a text for Presserwis (the 'Press' newsletter); people need to find out what a scandal this is. The intention of such an action is obvious: advertisers are to read in a popular publication that they are doing business with the wrong people. Hmm, how to put it nicely, without offending anyone... Dear Krzysztof Boczek, there are two scenarios. The first: you consciously participated in an organized paid campaign to destroy private media. Not good, right?”
