-- ARE POLES NO LONGER TIRED OF PIS AND PO MUTUALLY ACCUSING EACH OTHER OF WORKING FOR RUSSIA? WOULDN'T IT BE BETTER FOR TUSK, NAWROCKI, AND KACZYŃSKI TO JOINTLY ADDRESS THE PROBLEM OF BRAUN'S OPENLY PRO-KREMLIN ACTIVITIES - MICHAŁ SZUŁDRZYŃSKI IN RZ: “Donald Tusk and Radosław Sikorski are preparing the narrative ground to say that if the president vetoes laws and stands against the Polish government, against the West, against Europe, then he stands with Russia. Politically, this is a very rational move. However, two questions arise: are Poles not already tired of PiS and PO mutually accusing each other of who is working for Russia? After all, a openly pro-Russian party, Konfederacja Korony Polskiej led by Grzegorz Braun, has permanently emerged on the political scene. Wouldn't it be better for Donald Tusk, Karol Nawrocki, and Jarosław Kaczyński to jointly address the problem of Braun's and his associates' openly pro-Kremlin activities, instead of throwing accusations at each other about whether it's Tusk or Kaczyński who serves Russian interests?”

-- ON DECEMBER 1ST, THE GOVERNMENTS OF BOTH COUNTRIES WILL MEET IN BERLIN FOR LONG-PLANNED CONSULTATIONS. WILL THIS BE AN OPPORTUNITY TO CALM SENTIMENTS OR RATHER ANOTHER SHOW OF IRRITATION AND ILL WILL? - PIOTR BURAS IN GW: “A breakthrough in Polish-German relations requires a gesture of atonement for the victims of the war, which will not close the past but will be received positively in Poland (at least by the ruling coalition). And a large, joint project of cooperation, preferably in defense.”

-- EXPERIENCED DIPLOMATS FROM BOTH SIDES SAY THE ATMOSPHERE BETWEEN WARSAW AND BERLIN HAS NOT BEEN THIS BAD IN TWENTY YEARS - BURAS CONTINUES IN GW: “Experienced diplomats from both sides say the atmosphere between Warsaw and Berlin has not been this bad in twenty years. Both recent events clearly show that nerves are truly frayed. Thanks to the efficient work of Polish diplomacy and the support of German diplomacy, the scandalous auction was indeed cancelled. But the political damage has been done. Furthermore, the incident with Ambassador Berger's words immediately triggered an avalanche of comments in Poland, seeking further confirmation of German perfidy and dishonest historical policy.”

-- WOJCIECH CZUCHNOWSKI ON THE SCENARIO OF REPLACING THE IPN COLLEGIUM - WRITES IN GW: “Certainly, the Collegium's insistence on candidates unacceptable to the current majority may lead to the dismissal of the five members elected by the Sejm. (...) The second scenario is confrontational and aims to replace those members of the Collegium appointed by the Sejm. In such a situation, the candidates of the current ruling coalition could gain the necessary majority, break the dominance of PiS appointees, and elect a president not associated with Kaczyński's party, and more broadly, with the right side of the political scene. The procedure is quite simple and is based on the IPN law, which outlines four grounds for the termination of membership in the Collegium. The first three are: death, voluntary resignation, and conviction for an intentional offense prosecuted ex officio by a legally binding court ruling. The fourth ground is dismissal.”

-- CZUCHNOWSKI ON SZPYTMA'S CHANCES: “According to our sources, Szpytma, if he were to become a candidate, could count on the votes of the PSL, which has always agreed with PiS on the issue of concealing dark chapters of our history. On the other hand, KO, not wanting to break the coalition, might 'not obstruct' this candidacy. The Church also supports Szpytma.”
