-- SIKORSKI: TUSK WILL LEAD US TO VICTORY IN 2027 - 300LIVE: https://300polityka.pl/live/2025/07/11 -- HAS HE AGED? IS HE TIRED? BORED? HAS HE BELIEVED IN HIS GENIUS? I AM ASKING WITHIN THE GOVERNMENT, PARLIAMENT, AND THE PARTY, WHAT IS HAPPENING WITH TUSK - ARKADIUSZ GRUSZCZYŃSKI IN GW: “The fundamental question is therefore whether Donald Tusk, who – as someone very close to the Prime Minister, a keen observer of the government's work, points out to me – has a serious problem managing the state, is simply ending his political career before our very eyes. The overall picture is bad: the Prime Minister does not control his coalition partners, the government is not delivering, it has terrible communication, ministers are afraid to step out of line, and Trzaskowski, the sure-fire presidential candidate, lost to a political novice and a person who should never have become head of state.” -- WHY HAS TUSK STOPPED SETTING THE AGENDA FOR PUBLIC DEBATE AND CEDED GROUND TO JAROSŁAW KACZYŃSKI, WHO WAS SO RECENTLY AN ANACHRONISM - GRUSZCZYŃSKI FURTHER IN GW: “Why has Tusk stopped setting the agenda for public debate and ceded ground to Jarosław Kaczyński, who was so recently an anachronism? And secondly: has Tusk finally pointed out, or at least chosen, a dauphin or dauphine? Has he believed that there is someone who can effectively replace him at the head of the state and the party if necessary? And if he has believed so, has he managed to find such a person?” -- YOUNG OFFICIALS, STRAIGHT FROM FASHION RUNWAYS AND GYMS - GRUSZCZYŃSKI DESCRIBES THE SCENE AT THE CHANCELLERY OF THE PRIME MINISTER: “Both one and the other stand at attention when the Prime Minister receives foreign delegations. Young officials, straight from fashion runways and gyms, lazily sweep their gazes over the guests, and when no one is looking, they send each other TikTok videos. Yes, this is not a normal place.” -- HOW IS IT POSSIBLE THAT EVERYTHING HAS FALLEN APART TODAY? BECAUSE IT CANNOT BE HIDDEN THAT IT HAS FALLEN APART - GRUSZCZYŃSKI AGAIN. -- AT THE GOVERNMENT SESSION ON TUESDAY, THE PRIME MINISTER DID NOT GREET ANY OF THE MINISTERS - GRUSZCZYŃSKI WRITES IN GW: “At Tuesday's government session, the Prime Minister did not greet any of the ministers. And this is an extremely important gesture in palace games and in normal relations between politicians. My sources in the government admit that this is the first such situation in the history of the October 15 Coalition.” -- THE RECONSTRUCTION IS PARALYZING THE WORK OF ALL MINISTERS - ONE OF THE MINISTERS QUOTED IN GRUSZCZYŃSKI'S ARTICLE IN GW: “There is one reason: the government reconstruction announced for July 15. – Which is being extended, paralyzing the work of all ministers. Many things are on hold because we are concerned with survival – says one of the ministers.” -- HE IS BECOMING AN INCREASING BURDEN TO OUR CAMP - SAYS ONE OF THE DEPUTIES FROM WARSAW QUOTED BY GRUSZCZYŃSKI: “Donald has lost contact not only with his MPs but also with ordinary people. He has stopped traveling around Poland, he only talks to other politicians, he doesn't know what's happening in the country. He is becoming an increasing burden to our camp, for unclear reasons he has lost his social, but also political, hearing – says one of the deputies from Warsaw.” -- THE ENTIRE GOVERNMENT IS PARALYZED BY THIS FEAR - ANOTHER STATEMENT FROM SOMEONE IN THE GOVERNMENT ON OFF: “I'll tell you something: my female colleagues and I have enthusiasm for work, we have concrete projects developed, but we hear that they cannot be implemented because they are blocked from above. Because they will offend someone, because they are too brave, because the Prime Minister will be furious – says a deputy minister with whom I recently exchanged a few messages, shedding a slightly different light on the same problem. And she adds: – The entire government is paralyzed by this fear.” -- THE ANNOUNCEMENT ABOUT CUTTING DOWN TREES DOES NOT DIFFER IN ANY WAY FROM THE ACTIONS OF JAN SZYSZKO - STILL GRUSZCZYŃSKI IN GW: “A recent example: Adam Szłapka boasted to me that among many deregulatory solutions, there was a provision liberalizing the felling of trees from private plots. When I pointed out to the government spokesperson that this demand has nothing to do with what we know about climate warming and the sensitivity of Gen Z and Alphas, Szłapka stated that it concerned home gardens and thuja trees. Aleksander Gurgul, an environmental and nature journalist for 'Wyborcza', notes that this announcement does not differ in any way from the actions of Jan Szyszko, the infamous PiS Minister of Environment, a promoter of forest felling, hunting, and 'making the earth subject to us'. https://wyborcza.pl/magazyn/7,124059,32093049,postarzal-sie-zmeczyl-znudzil-uwierzyl-w-swoj-geniusz-pytam.html -- THE GOVERNMENT DID NOT GET A YELLOW CARD, BUT A RED ONE; POLES SIMPLY NO LONGER WANT THIS COALITION TO RULE THE COUNTRY - JAN RADOMSKI IN GW: “Poles simply no longer want this coalition to rule the country. Many surveys have shown this for some time, but the election results were the ultimate confirmation that Civic Coalition, Third Way, and New Left have lost their social legitimacy to hold power. Indeed, they still hold power politically, but only because we are still before the halfway point of the parliamentary term. -- COMING OFF THE FIELD - RADOMSKI FURTHER IN GW: "It won't help for Donald Tusk to change one, two, or even six ministers or appoint a government spokesperson. This could be done if the government received a yellow card, but it received a red one. And then you come off the field." -- THE GOVERNMENT'S SITUATION IS NOT BAD – IT IS TRAGIC - WRITES RADOMSKI IN GW: “The government's situation is not bad – it is tragic. For some reason, Poles have not fallen in love with the ruling coalition. Therefore, it is hardly surprising that in this situation, the crème de la crème of this coalition – Rafał Trzaskowski – lost the elections.” -- TUSK IS FLOUNDERING, TALKING SOMETIMES ABOUT DEREGULATION, AND SOMETIMES ABOUT REPOLONIZATION - JAN RADOMSKI AGAIN IN GW: “Donald Tusk is floundering, talking sometimes about deregulation, and sometimes about repolonization, and Rafał Trzaskowski decided during the campaign that he could actually have all views.” https://wyborcza.pl/7,75968,32094796,rzad-nie-dostal-zoltej-kartki-tylko-czerwona.html -- POLITICS IS BECOMING MORE BROWN. WHERE HAS SMILING AND LIBERAL POLAND GONE? - MICHAŁ SZUŁDRZYŃSKI IN RZ: “Scaring people with migrants is starting to threaten the safety of artists and ordinary tourists. The right-wing is fueling anti-immigrant sentiments, and the liberal side is timidly silent. Who will stop this hunt for foreigners?” -- AFTER THE LOST ELECTIONS, CIVIC COALITION FOUND ITSELF SO DEFENSIVE THAT IT SHOVED LIBERAL VALUES DEEP INTO A DRAWER - SZUŁDRZYŃSKI FURTHER IN RZ: “After the lost elections, Civic Coalition found itself so defensive that it shoved liberal values deep into a drawer. (...) By proving to the populist right-wing that they too can be tough on migrants, they have essentially abandoned the liberal agenda they ran on in the 2023 elections. Poland is therefore continuing to turn brown, and there is no one to stop this process.” https://www.rp.pl/polityka/art42686721-michal-szuldrzynski-polityka-nam-brunatnieje-gdzie-podziala-sie-usmiechnieta-i-liberalna-polska -- 68% IN POLLSTER FOR SE BELIEVES IT IS GOOD THAT HOŁOWNIA IS MEETING WITH OPPOSITION POLITICIANS…. https://polityka.se.pl/wiadomosci/czy-marszalek-holownia-powinien-spotykac-sie-z-opozycja-zaskakujacy-wynik-sondazu-aa-jYhj-m3q7-1gtK.html -- COMPARED TO FRANCE, BELGIUM, AND GREAT BRITAIN, THE NUMBER OF ROBBERIES, RAPES, AND OTHER CRIMES IS MUCH LOWER IN POLAND. I WOULD LIKE IT TO STAY THAT WAY - MATEUSZ MORAWIECKI IN AN INTERVIEW WITH ESTERA FLIEGER IN RZ: “Yes, I believe the situation is very serious. Please recall how quickly the number of illegal immigrants at the eastern border was growing. Angela Merkel's and Olaf Scholz's policies have led to increased threats to our security. This concerns women in particular. I am not convinced that the residents of Słubice, with whom you spoke – and I think much depends on the questions asked – would comment with similar calm on the news reaching us, for example, from the suburbs of Paris or Stockholm. The people I met spoke about this. Compared to France, Belgium, and Great Britain, the number of robberies, rapes, and other crimes is much lower in Poland. I would like it to stay that way.” -- FOR THE MOST CRUEL MURDERS, CRIMES COMMITTED WITH PREMEDITATION, THE DEATH PENALTY SHOULD BE REINSTATED - MORAWIECKI STATES TO FLIEGER IN RZ: “One of the reasons. The second is the policy of the current government, which places less emphasis on citizens' security. Moreover, I clearly remember the 90s, when liberals and post-communists – with Aleksander Kwaśniewski – believed that the law was too harsh. Crime reached a very high level then. Generally, therefore, I have a completely different view on these matters. For the most cruel murders, crimes committed with premeditation, the death penalty should be reinstated.” -- GERMANY, FROM ITS NEW, DECIDEDLY STRENGTHENED POSITION, MAY BEGIN TO EXERT VARIOUS KINDS OF PRESSURE ON ITS NEIGHBORS - MORAWIECKI AGAIN TO FLIEGER IN RZ: “Germany has constructed the largest military budget in 50 years. They have abandoned strict budget constraints. In a few years, they may rebuild their military power. Today, they are already making huge investments in energy and industrial infrastructure. And from its new, decidedly strengthened position, it may begin to exert various kinds of pressure on its neighbors.” -- ZELENSKYY BACKED THE WRONG HORSE – THE LIBERALS AND THE LEFT - MORAWIECKI FURTHER IN RZ: “I tried, by building various coalitions in Europe, to help Ukraine. However, President Zelenskyy backed the wrong horse – the liberals and the left, who have no moral authority in Poland, which is why an increasing portion of Poles today is increasingly skeptical of our eastern neighbor.” -- COMMON-SENSE FORCES RECOGNIZE THE RUSSIAN AND CHINESE THREAT, BUT DO NOT AGREE TO GERMAN DOMINANCE AND THE PUSHING OUT OF THE UNITED STATES FROM EUROPE - MORAWIECKI STILL TO FLIEGER IN RZ: “Karol Nawrocki, and I hope that as the head of the European Conservatives and Reformists, I too will contribute to building an alliance of common-sense forces that, in international affairs, recognize the Russian and Chinese threat, but do not agree to German dominance and the pushing out of the United States from Europe. I believe that in 2027, the party that presents a consistent vision for Poland's development will win the elections.” https://www.rp.pl/polityka/art42684661-mateusz-morawiecki-wybory-wygra-ta-partia-ktora-przedstawi-konsekwentna-wizje-rozwoju-polski -- 9th anniversary of the death of Michał Kornatowski. -- BIRTHDAYS: Monika Olejnik, Piotr Kraśko turns 54, Agnieszka Owczarczak.
