- This phrasing "because the president is elected by the nation" resonated with me somewhere [...] I don't want to reach back to old times, but there have been such people in our history, in various countries, who said they were chosen by the nation. They treated themselves as God's anointed, meaning they could do anything - said Waldemar Żurek on TVN24, when asked about Zbigniew Bogucki's critical words directed at him.

- Mr. Bogucki completely fails to understand that the president, just like you and me, is bound by regulations, both by the Constitution and ordinary laws. Therefore, invoking the idea that the president can do anything because he is elected by the nation is an abuse. And we see this abuse in the refusals to make judicial appointments, ambassadorial appointments, officer nominations; now there is another manifestation - he continued.

- For now, his [the president's] minister [Bogucki] is defending him very bravely, telling me to find my place in the ranks. I am consistent, I am doing my job, I will not be intimidated by any blustering from the president's officials. I am a constitutional body, not elected by Tusk; the appointment was handed to me by the president who was the acting president at the time, whose election was not questioned in the same way as the current president's today - he went on to say.

- I would really say to Mr. Bogucki: "The monastery lasts longer than the prior" - he added.
