Wednesday's Political Agenda: Sikorski in Paris, Government Session, and KSeF Implementation Update in the Sejm

At 12:00 PM, the first government session of 2026 will commence. Ministers will address, among other items, a draft act concerning amendments to certain laws related to the transmission of information to the European single access point, and a revision of the Energy Law.

At 6:00 PM in the Sejm, a session of the Committee on Economy and Development is scheduled, during which the Minister of Finance and Economy is expected to present information on the state of the National e-Invoicing System (KSeF) implementation.

On Wednesday, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Radosław Sikorski will participate in a meeting of the foreign ministers of the Weimar Triangle countries. The Minister of External Affairs of India will also be present.

Ministers will discuss, among other topics, the possibility of ending Russia's aggression against Ukraine and India's relations with Russia. The head of the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs will also meet with the French Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Jean-Noël Barrot, for bilateral discussions. The implementation of the Treaty of Nancy, ratified by Poland and France in December, is expected to be a topic of conversation.

Szefernaker:

We Are Capable of Discussing Matters Most Important to Poland

- I think so [the new year will bring a turn in president-prime minister relations]. These relations must be as good as possible for Poland in the most important matters, and in ideological matters, the gentlemen will never agree on everything, they will not agree on many things, but I think it's a good omen - stated Paweł Szefernaker on TV Republika.

- The president to date, in matters important to Poland, when there was, for example, the situation on September 10th, related to the drone attack, this cooperation existed, it is there, in the most important matters. That the president believes this is the worst government in history and that in matters the president spoke about during the campaign, he will firmly advocate for Polish affairs according to the key he spoke about during the campaign, promised Poles, that he will push for many matters that are not important for the government, but are the most important for the president, that is clear, this is what the president spoke about, responsibility for one's word in the campaign - continued the head of the president's chancellery.

- I am also convinced that in the most important matters, like on September 10th, these matters are not subject to some kind of current political criticism. Therefore, we are capable of discussing matters most important to Poland - he said.

President-Prime Minister Meeting: Szefernaker Names a Date

- There will be a [president-prime minister] meeting this week. Most likely, the meeting between the President and the Prime Minister will take place on Friday - stated Paweł Szefernaker on TV Republika.

07:17

Szefernaker:

There will be an attempt each time to provoke conflict with the President to distract from ordinary Poles' problems

- Today they are seeking this conflict with the president, why? Because they are failing in many areas, the government is simply failing in many areas, it is not addressing the problems of ordinary Poles. Therefore, it is looking for substitute topics, and each time it is the president from a different political camp – stated Paweł Szefernaker on TV Republika.

- Therefore, if the government criticizes or attacks the president in some way, this topic suddenly becomes topic number one. As a result, other topics, the real problems of Poles, fall to subsequent places, and this is beneficial for the government, for Prime Minister Tusk. That is why there will be an attempt each time to provoke conflict with the president to distract from the problems of ordinary Poles – he continued.

07:22

Szefernaker:

We Will Not Be Drawn into Substitute Topics, as They Serve Only the Government

- We will not be drawn into these substitute topics, because these substitute topics serve only the government, and the President would like to implement a program that serves Poles, not one that serves the government in the current political dispute - stated Paweł Szefernaker on TV Republika.

07:30

Szefernaker on the Government Bill Regarding the Status of Next of Kin:

Unacceptable in its Current Form.

- If this law remains in its current form, it will not be accepted by the President. The President also spoke about this during the campaign. The President's office is open to discussing any bill that the government considers important - stated Paweł Szefernaker on TV Republika.

07:33

Presidential Bill on the Status of Closest Persons? Szefernaker: It's Probably Not Excluded

- It's probably not excluded [a presidential bill on the status of closest persons]; it all depends on whether the government changes the provisions of the bill it has prepared. If it is a bill that will help people, meaning one that will help in various life situations, in offices, in hospitals, to be able to establish a closest person who will be able to assist, if it can simplify someone's life, then such a bill will be introduced - stated Paweł Szefernaker on TV Republika.

- But if these are pseudo-marriages, pseudo-partnerships, which would ultimately lead to the adoption of children by homosexual individuals, then there will be no consent from the President - he continued.

07:34

Szefernaker:

The Prime Minister Vetoes at the Government Level, the Marshal at the Sejm Level, and the Only Veto Written into the Constitution is the President's Veto

- The Prime Minister has unilaterally envied the president's veto and is vetoing this act [concerning the National Labour Inspectorate] within the government. This is a strange solution. The Marshal vetoes presidential acts at the Sejm level, the Prime Minister vetoes at the government level acts that other ministers push through, and yet the only real veto written into the Constitution is the president's veto - stated Paweł Szefernaker on TV Republika.

08:10

Czarzasty on the Possibility of Changing Employment to an Employment Contract by the National Labour Inspectorate: 'If We Don't Implement This, We Won't Get 11 Billion Zlotys'

- If we don't implement this, we won't get 11 billion zlotys, which Poland cannot afford. I am not here to criticize the government or the prime minister. The prime minister said that he is not satisfied with this reform in its current form, therefore Lewica will propose a different solution. I will be meeting with the prime minister today, and we will be discussing this among other things - said Włodzimierz Czarzasty in “Gość Radia Zet”.

08:15

Czarzasty to Zandberg: Adrian, you had 10 MPs, now you have four. Make sure you don't end up with two

- I told Adrian, whom I like, value, and respect, we talk to each other, and I recently asked him: Adrian, you had 10 MPs, now you have four. I have a request for you, that after the vote on defending Mr. Ziobro from going to prison, together with PiS, you keep an eye on them, so you don't end up with two. - said Włodzimierz Czarzasty on “Gość Radia Zet”.

08:18

Czarzasty:

We Have No Plan to Close Down the MPs' Hotel

- We have no plan to close down the MPs' hotel; rather, we will be renovating the rooms there - said Włodzimierz Czarzasty on “Gość Radia Zet”.

08:19

Czarzasty on Braun's Party: I Would Ban It

- It's heading in that direction. I would ban it - stated Włodzimierz Czarzasty on "Gość Radia Zet" when asked whether the Confederation of the Polish Crown party should be banned.

08:23

Morawiecki:

Talks about Poland without Poland are a defeat for the current Prime Minister

- Nothing about us without us, that should be the principle, both when it comes to these points formulated over a month ago regarding Ukraine, first there were 28 points, then 19 points, in all of them it should be clear that Poland is a key element of logistics and aid to Ukraine, and unfortunately, we have seen that once again there are talks about Poland without Poland, and this is a defeat for the current Prime Minister - said Mateusz Morawiecki in "Wikła's Conversation" on wPolsce24.

08:29

Czarzasty:

If the President Vetoes the DSA, I Will Say Everywhere That There Was a Chance to Escape Online Pedophilia, and the President Spoke Against It

- There is no consent for pedophilia and pornography, and for free access to pornography on the internet. If Mr. President does not understand this, then I have a calm piece of advice for him, as usual. Let him take advisors, let him listen, and let him reach a point where he understands it. If Mr. President vetoes this law, I will tell you honestly, nothing will happen except that I will say everywhere I can that there was a chance to escape child pornography, to escape the spread of pedophilia on the internet, and the President spoke against it. - said Włodzimierz Czarzasty on “Gość Radia Zet”.

08:31

Morawiecki on Tusk:

He Will Do Everything to Deprecate the President.

- The current Prime Minister will do everything to deprecate the President. We see how he is doing it, we see how he is activating his great propaganda mechanisms to emphasize how important this dispute is, the fact that the President vetoed something or didn't get something from the President - said Mateusz Morawiecki on wPolsce24 television.

- These are very convenient topics for the current Prime Minister. Żurek, the dispute here with the Presidential Palace, let him deal with healthcare, let him deal with inflation, these are neither right-wing nor left-wing topics - he continued.

08:37

Morawiecki on Czarzasty:

It's from the Prime Minister's hand, I haven't seen such a subordinate Marshal in a long time.

- Let's be clear, it's not because of Marshal Czarzasty [that the president's projects will be frozen], because as it's visible, the Marshal is acting from the hand of the current Prime Minister. I haven't seen such a subordinate Marshal to the executive power in a long time - said Mateusz Morawiecki on wPolsce24 television.

08:41

Czarzasty:

I am Not a Communist

- I feel good [when someone calls me a communist] because I am not a communist. Do you know who was a communist? What communist views are. I wasn't very much in favor of that; social democracy always considered, because one must look at it calmly in this way, property forms are state, private, cooperative ownership. Communism does not assume private ownership, for example - said Włodzimierz Czarzasty on “Gość Radia Zet”.

08:44

Siwiec on the US Attack on Venezuela:

An America Armed with a Knuckle Duster, Roaming the Streets and Collecting Protection Money.

- The move – and I say this with regret and in a very large quotation – that the Americans made in Venezuela, is something that we, people friendly towards the United States in an ideological sense, are struggling to come to terms with. This is not that America - said Marek Siwiec in the "Morning Conversation" on RMF FM.

- I am not sure if the vast majority of Poles who admire the United States – and it's probably similar in many countries – would want to see such an America armed with a knuckle duster, roaming the streets, collecting protection money from shopkeepers on any given street… - he stated.

- That guy with the knuckle duster also shows that he "can". The question is what people think about him. And a second, more dramatic question. Couldn't similar things have been done in a more elegant way? You can't force things elegantly, but it sometimes happens without using force, without casualties, without explosions, without commandos, aircraft carriers, and so on - he continued.

He assessed: - What the Americans are spouting about international law in the context of kidnapping a sitting president of a country – whom 3/4 of the world did not recognize, but who was nevertheless the sitting president – are pirouettes that will not pay off for them. First, they say it's anti-terrorism actions, but then, as they start to dilute that word, as for where the threat to America came from, it turns out they were producing drugs in Venezuela, which were being smuggled [...] and went mainly through Mexico and the Pacific Ocean

08:46

Why is KO Topping the Polls? Morawiecki: The Prime Minister Drained His Allies to the Very End

- He drained his allies to the very end, and that's what this situation is about; the appetizers, which were doomed from the very beginning to be devoured, have become part of today's Civic Coalition, meaning the camp of the current Prime Minister - Mateusz Morawiecki said on wPolsce24 television.

- This is the secret behind why today the Platforma [Civic Platform] consistently maintains a level of 33, 34, 35 percent, but it is precisely those few percent, those few percentage points that separate us from our main political competitor, that we will focus on today at our away-from-home Law and Justice club meeting - he continued.

08:50

Head of the Sejm Chancellery on Czarzasty’s Visit to Ukraine:

Soon.

- We don't know the date [of Włodzimierz Czarzasty’s visit to Ukraine] because it needs to be agreed upon with our partners, but it's supposed to be soon. It's planned for February. We intend to have a good and comprehensive visit, meaning we will talk with Ukrainian parliamentarians - said Marek Siwiec in the “Morning Interview” on RMF FM.

- I hope [to meet with President Zelensky too], after the pleasant encounter that took place in the Sejm, where there was a palpable chemistry between Marshal Czarzasty and President Zelensky. It also occurs on a level, speaking as a participant in the conversation, of a certain sense of humor or rather a type of self-irony, discussing difficult matters with a certain ease - he continued.

09:04

Morawiecki:

Polish Security Must Be Based on Three Pillars

- Polish security must be based on three pillars: the Polish army with the Polish defense industry is the first pillar, the Intermarium region is the second pillar, and an alliance within NATO, mainly with the United States, is the third pillar - said Mateusz Morawiecki on wPolsce24 television.

09:05

Siwiec:

For 2 Months, There Has Been No Gesture from the Presidential Palace Towards the Marshal of the Sejm

- She assumes the position of Marshal of the Sejm, just as Marshal Czarzasty did, she legally took on these duties almost two months ago. And for two months, there has been no gesture. I'm not even talking about an invitation, because my imagination doesn't reach that far – Marek Siwiec said in the "Morning Conversation" on RMF FM.

- However, the first bulldog is sent out – I say this as a great dog lover, because he performed this role very well – Mr. Bogucki, and he slanders the Marshal during his allotted 10 minutes, talking about chained dogs. In this package, for 8 minutes, he slanders the Prime Minister and the Marshal of the Sejm. Do you think this is an invitation to a conversation? – he asked.

09:10

Siwiec:

There Will Be No Breathalyzers in the Sejm

- I have not issued a decision regarding any breathalyzers. So, I am informing the voter that there will be none. I am neither calming them down nor trying to anger them. We simply will not be doing this - said Marek Siwiec in the "Morning Interview" on RMF FM, responding to a listener's question about whether there would be mandatory breathalyzers in the Sejm.

09:28

Tusk on returns from Great Britain and Germany:

Poland is becoming the promised land for many today.

- People vote with their feet. Yes, yes, they generally go where they expect a better life. It is precisely in Great Britain that this phrase "foot voting" is used when describing the mass returns of Poles from Great Britain to Poland - said Prime Minister Donald Tusk in a recording published on X.

- Similarly, in Germany, where thousands of Polish women and men are deciding to return. The weekly "Der Spiegel" recently wrote about this, saying that Germany has ceased to be attractive for many Poles and Poland has become much more attractive, and that is why thousands of Polish women and men are returning from Germany to Poland today - he continued.

- This is the first time in our history that significantly more Polish women and men are returning from Germany to Poland than are leaving Poland for Germany. To put it plainly, Poland is becoming the promised land for many today. And this is precisely what we are playing for. Come back - he went on to say.

09:44

Tusk:

They Want to Destroy Owsiak and the Orchestra, Just as They Tried to Destroy Wałęsa

- They want to destroy Jerzy Owsiak and the Orchestra, just as they tried to destroy Lech Wałęsa and true Polish solidarity. Surely you won't allow that? - wrote Prime Minister Donald Tusk on social media.

12:04

Nawrocki to Professors: I Want to Guarantee You Will Only Be Subject to Scientific Craft Discipline

- As President of Poland, I will ensure, and I wanted to guarantee this to you, that you will only be subject to the discipline of the scientific craft, because this is binding for all universities and academies, and it is good practice that the scientific world and professors who receive nominations never yield, dear sirs, to ideological trends or to a certain political everydayness. This is not the world of academicism, the world of science, which is inherently linked to the freedom of research. As President of Poland, I want to give you such a guarantee - said Karol Nawrocki during the ceremony of awarding professorial nominations.

12:21

Terlecki on Morawiecki:

I am for an excellent candidate for Prime Minister

- The Presidium of the Political Committee, a routine one, one might say, nothing extraordinary. No, no, why would [PiS fall apart]. There are disputes, differences of opinion, discussions, but let's not exaggerate, nothing serious will happen - Ryszard Terlecki stated in an interview with journalists in the Sejm.

- Such a dispute is ongoing and we have to resolve it somehow. I think this resolution will take a bit longer. But I wouldn't worry. I am, of course, for unity and for an excellent candidate for Prime Minister, namely Mateusz Morawiecki - he continued.

13:41

Szyszko on the KPO and PIP Reform:

The Prime Minister's Decision Means New Talks with the EU Commission Are Needed. This Time They Will Be Extremely Difficult.

"From the perspective of the KPO, I will write briefly: the PIP reform was included in the Plan by a decision of the Council of Ministers. After difficult but effective negotiations, the reform replaced the mandatory social security contributions on every civil law contract (umowa zlecenie) in the KPO." - Jan Szyszko wrote on X.

"The Prime Minister's new decision changes the situation and means that new talks with the Commission are necessary. We will be ready for them when a new milestone proposal emerges. These talks will be extremely difficult this time," he noted.

"So far, Poland has always avoided any penalties for failing to meet milestones. In turn, the value of projects implemented in Poland with KPO funds has already exceeded PLN 165 billion." - he added.

14:00

Szłapka on PIP Reform and KPO Milestones:

We Will Talk to the EC

- Regarding the legislative solution concerning the powers of the State Labour Inspectorate, firstly, as for the milestone, we will naturally discuss these milestones with the European Commission, which has of course happened before. This can also be done, so-called KPO revisions have taken place in the past - said Adam Szłapka at a press conference.

- When it comes to this type of solutions, i.e., some strengthening of employee protection, any solutions that we will prepare together as a government, will be solutions that will not violate the normal principles of a social contract, meaning they certainly cannot be implemented at a loss for employers or employees - he continued.

14:06

Szłapka on the Topics of Discussion During the Nawrocki-Tusk Meeting:

The International Situation, Security Issues

- Regarding the meeting, which will of course take place, between the Prime Minister and the President [...] first and foremost, the conversation will, of course, be about the international situation, about security issues, about talks that are intensely underway at various levels, in various formats involving European states, involving American representatives, involving Ukraine - said Adam Szłapka at a press conference.

14:10

Joint Statements After Nawrocki-Tusk Meeting? Szłapka Responds

- I don't think there will be statements from the Prime Minister and the President immediately after this meeting - Adam Szłapka said at a press conference when asked if there would be joint statements from the participants after the Nawrocki-Tusk meeting.

14:14

Szłapka on Disagreements Regarding PIP Regulations:

No Threat to Coalition Cohesion.

- The Prime Minister and the Marshal are in constant contact and meet regularly. There probably won't be such a meeting today, but I think there will be one in the near future, so I think it will be this week - Adam Szłapka said at a press conference, when asked about Włodzimierz Czarzasty's meeting with Prime Minister Donald Tusk and the disagreements regarding the National Labour Inspectorate (PIP).

- There is always time and place for dialogue, because any solutions, to be good, must always be developed through good compromise, and we will certainly work on such a compromise to ensure it's okay. There is definitely no threat to the cohesion of the coalition here, we are absolutely convinced of that - he continued.

14:26

Szłapka on the PIP bill:

It's not like it fell off the Council of Ministers' agenda.

"This bill [concerning the National Labour Inspectorate - PIP] did not make it to the Council of Ministers' meeting. It did not make it to the Council of Ministers' meeting because it was not yet fully prepared," said Adam Szłapka at a press conference.

"It's not like it fell off the Council of Ministers' agenda. Rather, information appeared in the media that discussions were ongoing because it was no secret that these discussions also took place in the standing committee of the Council of Ministers, and this solution simply did not receive full acceptance, and therefore did not reach the Council of Ministers' meeting," he continued.

14:34

Kierwiński Announces Lawsuit Against PiS MP

- A certain Wojciechowska van Heukelom can expect a lawsuit for her primitive and false words. She has violated my personal rights and will be held accountable. I will not let this go - wrote Marcin Kierwiński on social media.

The PiS MP stated on TV Republika: - If the Minister of Interior and Administration can appear in public under the influence of alcohol, and then people say he had an echo or didn't have an echo, and it all goes unpunished, then it's hard to be surprised.

14:36

Civic Coalition Releases New Campaign Spot:

The Whole World is Jealous of Us.

- We have started the year 2026. A breakthrough year, which we can enter without complexes, but with pride. With pride in our Poland - says the narrator in the new Civic Coalition spot.

- We are the 20th economy in the world. We have the lowest inflation in the European Union. We are the second country in Europe with the lowest unemployment and the highest economic growth - he continues.

- Forbes magazine has recognized Warsaw as the most attractive city to visit in 2026 - he goes on.

- We have made the eastern border watertight and secure. The number of migrants crossing our border has fallen by over 90%. We plan to spend 200 billion on defense this year, which will constitute 4.8% of GDP. The whole world is jealous of us. Let us be proud of Poland, because we have reasons to be - he adds.

14:42

From the Ruling Party - A Conspiracy of Silence. Kaczyński Tweets About an Alcohol Binge at a Police Station

- An alcohol binge at the police station in Piaseczno? Rape of a female police officer? From the ruling party - a conspiracy of silence - wrote Jarosław Kaczyński on social media.

- Were we not supposed to find out about this? Supervisory oversight? Procedures? Women's safety? Fiction - he continued.

16:39

Kaczyński After a PiS Leadership Meeting:

Actions Aimed at Ensuring a Victorious Election

- The party's presidium met, and of course, we also discussed current issues related to the economic situation, energy, and particularly mining, as well as that incident or a very brutal, surprising, scandalous event. I am referring to the events at the police station in Piaseczno, but primarily about the matter of further action and party unity in that action - stated Jarosław Kaczyński during a media briefing.

- Of course, this action is aimed at the elections, at ensuring that these elections are victorious for the Polish option, and that largely means the PiS option. And here, there were no other voices than those that recognized this as the only path, that we must and will follow this path, that this path can, and should, indeed must, lead us to success, to victory. This is, in essence, a brief but very important message - he continued.

16:41

Kaczyński on a split in PiS:

These are the dreams of our opponents.

- Although substantive discussions within this operation, program preparations, and subsequent conferences will continue, they will certainly not be discussions that have anything to do with any tensions, let alone splits within the party. These are the dreams of our opponents, and those dreams will certainly not come true. PiS, with its full program, appealing to various social groups, various needs, but above all to the nation as a whole, will follow this straightforward path, the path of refusing to agree to Poland being suffocated - stated Jarosław Kaczyński during a statement to the media.

16:42

Kaczyński on Returning to Power:

Younger Generations Must Also Participate.

- For this to happen, those who know how to govern must return to power. Those who have already proven themselves must return to power, but of course, people of a different generation, younger ones, often much younger, must also participate in this, and certainly during everything we will show before the elections, you will see that this is precisely how it will be - stated Jarosław Kaczyński during a media statement.

18:00

Kosiniak-Kamysz after Committee Meeting:

Government, Military, Services, and President's Representatives at One Table.

"We held the first Council of Ministers Committee for National Security of 2026. At one table: representatives of the government, military, and services, as well as the President of the Republic of Poland," informed Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz.

"We conducted an in-depth analysis of the situation in Ukraine, the Middle East, Venezuela, and cyberspace. We maintain full coordination of actions in counteracting hybrid threats and protecting critical infrastructure," reads the Deputy Prime Minister's post on the X portal.

"For Poles, this means an efficient, stable, and responsibly functioning state," summarized the head of the Ministry of National Defence.

18:31

Bogucki on KPRP-KPRM Relations:

If the Government's Stance Changes, Relations Will Improve.

"It's probably rare for one meeting to fundamentally change relations. If the government's stance changes, if it wants to cooperate with the president, then these relations will definitely improve," said Zbigniew Bogucki in the "Afternoon Conversation" on RMF FM, when asked if the Nawrocki-Tusk meeting would fundamentally change relations between the Chancellery of the President of the Republic of Poland (KPRP) and the Chancellery of the Prime Minister (KPRM).

18:35

Bogucki on Planned Meeting with Heads of Services:

Everything is Moving in the Right Direction.

- Meetings are also planned, which unfortunately did not happen when I, on behalf of the President, invited representatives or heads of services to these meetings, both of these two, let's call them, civilian services, and these two special or secret military services. It's good that there is this reflection, it's good that there is some contact here and that this meeting will take place - said Zbigniew Bogucki in RMF FM.

- This is again a matter of Polish security, it is also related to nominations, it could have been handled much faster, it's good that it's happening after some time, but there is a certain reflection that the heads of services and, for example, the relevant ministers should meet. Everything is moving in the right direction - he continued.

- I do not want to confirm or deny this today - he said further, when asked if Tomasz Siemoniak would also be present at this meeting.

- If there was information that anyone, whether it's the Prime Minister, the Deputy Prime Minister, or the relevant minister [...] wants to participate in this, I do not believe there would be any obstacle on the President's side. So this is not a point of contention. The point of contention is that these people simply did not come, but today everything is moving in such a direction that the meeting will take place - he added.

18:46

When Will the President Decide on the DSA Act? Bogucki Responds

- For now, this act is pending a decision because it is a difficult act, it contains various provisions that can be described as questionable - said Zbigniew Bogucki on RMF FM, when asked when he would sign the act implementing the Digital Services Act (DSA).

- This, for instance, concerns the issue of freedom of speech - he continued.

- But we are also dealing with a situation where many mechanisms within this act are not carried out through judicial review, but through administrative decisions - he elaborated, when asked if he had read the Senate's amendments.

- There is no decision today, to be clear, because there is no decision from the President of the Republic. President Nawrocki will probably make it on Friday, that is the deadline - he added.

18:53

What Would a Bill on the Status of a Close Person Need to Look Like for the President to Sign It? Bogucki States a Condition

- In my opinion, there is a significant problem with this law. Of course, this is again President Nawrocki's decision, but I would like to point out that even the title of this law uses the term "union" - said Zbigniew Bogucki on RMF FM, when asked about the law on the status of a close person and whether he saw any room for compromise.

- The Polish Constitution clearly states: the union of a woman and a man is under the protection of the Republic of Poland - he continued.

- Suddenly, in a year or a year and a half, there might be some ruling from a foreign court or tribunal stating that there are no reasons why, for example, such unions [should not] adopt children, for instance, homosexual unions - he went on to say.

- It makes no difference what is written in this law [...] we have repeatedly dealt with laws that were very clearly and unambiguously written, and then we had to deal with judicial interpretation, especially from foreign tribunals, which resulted in something that contradicted the provisions of that law, and that is the case, or could be the case, here - he added.

- We cannot use the term "union" here [...] if marriage is to remain a privileged form, and it is so based on the Polish Constitution, then we cannot create something that we call differently but which would essentially be treated the same - he emphasized, when asked what would need to be in this law for Karol Nawrocki to sign it.

19:09

Bogucki on Nawrocki's Meetings with Kaczyński:

They Happen Regularly.

- These meetings, as far as the President is concerned with the Chairman, they happen quite regularly and that's very good, because the leader of the largest opposition party meets with the President of the Republic - said Zbigniew Bogucki in RMF FM, when asked if President Karol Nawrocki often meets with Jarosław Kaczyński in the Presidential Palace.

- This contact exists, the relations are very good - he continued.

19:44

Zgorzelski:

One Could Say Kaczyński Created 4 Presidents

- Jarosław Kaczyński is a hostage to his own idea, his political success, because it was he who came up with the candidacy of Karol Nawrocki as the candidate who, in the second round, was to be not just the candidate of Law and Justice, because he would have been that anyway, but a candidate supported by the Confederation's electorate. Kaczyński succeeded in this. One could say that Wałęsa, Lech Kaczyński, Andrzej Duda, and Karol Nawrocki, meaning 4 presidents, were actually created by Jarosław Kaczyński - said Piotr Zgorzelski on TVN24's "Fakty po Faktach".

19:47

Zgorzelski:

Braun is not linked to antisemitism or anti-Polonism. It's a cynical game, cold calculation

- In my opinion, Grzegorz Braun is neither an exponent of antisemitism nor anti-Polonism, because he even went too far here by saying that he questions the existence of gas chambers and furnaces in which people were burned in concentration camps. He is truly not connected to these ideas, it is a cynical game, a cold calculation wrapped only in phantasmagoria - said Piotr Zgorzelski in "Fakty po Faktach" on TVN24.

19:53

Zgorzelski on Braun's Letter to Lavrov:

There's No Other Word Than Neo-Targowica to Describe It.

- His anti-Ukrainian sentiment helped him lean towards pro-Russian positions. This subservient letter to Lavrov is something so unacceptable within the culture of the Polish nation that there's no other word than neo-Targowica to describe it - said Piotr Zgorzelski on TVN24's "Fakty po Faktach."

20:42

Kierwiński on Police Officer Charged with Rape:

Swift Reaction, Arrested in Under 12 Hours.

- Immediately after this terrible event, after this rape, all internal police procedures were initiated. It is worth mentioning that this officer was arrested in less than 12 hours. He is currently in custody, a court decision has already been made in this regard, so all procedures worked very, very quickly. There will be no tolerance for this type of crime within the police - said Marcin Kierwiński on TVN24’s “Kropka nad i” program.

- A disciplinary proceeding has, of course, been initiated, which will end with the removal of this gentleman from the ranks of the Polish police. He is already suspended. […] He is the commander of one of the riot units, so he is a police commissioner, and this makes it all the more reprehensible and all the more will such cases be burned out with a hot iron - he emphasized.

- Please see how swift the police reaction is, how well all internal police institutions have worked in this regard - he added.

The Case of Rape at a Police Station: Kierwiński Announces "Further Personnel Decisions"

- In cases of this type of crime, there will always be a very, very strong reaction. I can say now, because a verification procedure is underway regarding this matter, as well as all procedures concerning the Commander of the Warsaw Police and the Chief of the National Police, and the internal supervision inspector at the Ministry of Interior. Further personnel decisions will be made in the coming hours and days - said Marcin Kierwiński on TVN24's "Kropka nad i" program.

The Case of the Rape at the Police Station: Kierwiński Speaks of "Hyenas on the Right-Wing"

- In this case, we are dealing with an enormous tragedy, and it needs to be called by its name. But I can already see, especially on the so-called right-wing, how various kinds of hyenas are trying to exploit this matter politically - said Marcin Kierwiński on TVN24's "Kropka nad i" (The Dot over the i).

- In this type of case, when it comes to such sensitive matters, the most important thing for the victim of this crime is not to post on Twitter, TikTok, or other social media, but to have a swift reckoning for the perpetrator and swift support for the injured party. And that's what the police have done. And when I read the posts of various PiS politicians who say that this matter, that someone is trying to cover it up... - he continued.

Kierwiński Responds to Kaczyński:

Under His Government, the Grenade Launcher Case and Stachowiak’s Murder Were Covered Up.

- This is truly incredible. The person who committed this disgraceful act is already in custody. Immediate proceedings, immediate suspension from duty, disciplinary procedures initiated. Everything is being clarified on an ongoing basis and there are already consequences – Marcin Kierwiński said on TVN24’s “Kropka nad i,” when asked about Jarosław Kaczyński’s post.

We quoted the PiS leader’s post here.

- And these kinds of accusations are being made by someone who was the Deputy Prime Minister for Security. It was during his time, when he was the Deputy Prime Minister for Security in that government, that the murder case at the Igor Stachowiak police station was covered up. We all remember that. The cases of the grenade launcher, the helicopter that was supposed to fly for the amusement of one of the deputy ministers, were covered up. […] Nothing was accounted for. And these people have the audacity to say something like that today? - he continued.

Kierwiński to Nawrocki:

Poles Elected a President, Not a King of Poland.

- Poles elected a president, not a king of Poland, and Mr. Nawrocki should be aware of that. There will be no agreement here on any stepping outside of constitutional frameworks. Besides, the president is supposed to be a defender of the constitution, so he cannot circumvent, bend, or change the constitution, and he shouldn't be doing that - said Marcin Kierwiński on TVN24's "Kropka nad i" (The Dot over the i).

Kierwiński:

PiS's Weakening is Good for Poland

- For the first time in many years, Kaczyński has lost his spiritual hold on the right. He has, on one side, Konfederacja, and on the other, Braun, whom he himself cultivated. There is nothing to be happy about regarding Braun. There is Mr. Nawrocki, who is trying to be a hegemon on this right-wing side - said Marcin Kierwiński in "Kropka nad i" on TVN24.

- It is evident that for the first time, Kaczyński truly has no control over what is happening within his party. The fact that PiS is so weakened is good for Poland, because the weaker PiS is, the greater the probability that far-right populists will never return to power in Poland - he assessed.
