Jabłoński on the Nearest Relative Status Act:

The President Will Veto It.

- If we are talking about introducing various facilitations for people who do not live in a formal union, not a marital union, regardless of their gender, I am absolutely in favor of that. But if the government doesn't hide the fact that this is actually the first step towards the goal of enabling homosexual couples to adopt children, then I will absolutely not lend a hand to it. I say this completely unequivocally - Paweł Jabłoński said on "Gość Radia ZET".

- If that is the goal of these actions, then why should I help with it? I will be against it. By the way, I think this act has no chance of coming into force, because President Nawrocki will veto it - he assessed.

A Law De Facto Legalizing Civil Unions, Quasi-Marriages". Szefernaker on the Government's Draft Project

- I think that if it were a law concerning the status of the nearest person, and not a law de facto legalizing civil unions, quasi-marriages, it would have a chance. It is called that, but that doesn't mean it is such a law, because the solutions enshrined in this law, as well as the objective of introducing this law, indicated by the government in the Regulatory Impact Assessment (OSR), clearly show that the aim of this solution is to introduce civil unions - stated Paweł Szefernaker in „Rozmowa Piaseckiego” on TVN24.

07:52

Szefernaker:

No Agreement on Introducing Civil Partnerships

- The President said during the campaign that he would support solutions that help people in their daily lives as closest persons, but there will be no agreement on introducing civil partnerships - stated Paweł Szefernaker in "Rozmowa Piaseckiego" on TVN24.

07:59

Szefernaker:

All of This Should Be Reserved Exclusively for Marriage

- These solutions that create partnerships, quasi-marital unions [should be changed]. All solutions that are today reserved for marriage, and here are entered as solutions for quasi-marital unions. Joint property, joint tax settlements, or even tax exemptions - stated Paweł Szefernaker in the "Piasecki's Conversation" on TVN24.

- Everything that is today reserved exclusively for marriage, for a lasting union that is regulated, that our civilization has developed, all of that should be reserved exclusively for marriage - the head of the President's Chancellery continued.

08:00

Szefernaker:

The President's Veto Pressure Works

- In various laws, in many laws, the President’s veto pressure is effective, and many parliamentarians, representatives of the current ruling coalition, contact the Chancellery, the President's office, to inquire whether specific solutions have the President's approval – stated Paweł Szefernaker on TVN24's "Rozmowa Piaseckiego" (Piasecki's Conversation).

- In this law [concerning the status of next of kin], as well as in other laws, there have been discussions with representatives of the ruling coalition – he continued.

08:03

Szefernaker:

Government Aims for Civil Partnerships, President Wants to Alleviate Loneliness

- The government is striving to introduce civil partnerships, and the president would like to alleviate the burden of people living in loneliness and help them by introducing the status of a next of kin - stated Paweł Szefernaker in "Rozmowa Piaseckiego" on TVN24.

08:04

Jarubas:

Putin Will Likely Play for Time

- Putin will likely play for time, because for him, no solution that does not fulfill the demands from 2021, the withdrawal of the USA to its pre-1999 expansion borders, will be satisfactory - said Adam Jarubas in "Polityczne Graffiti" on Polsat News.

08:04

Jarubas:

We Support Farmers Protesting Against the Mercosur Agreement

- We support those farmers who are protesting because, in reality, the consequences of adopting this agreement could be catastrophic, especially for the Polish agricultural sector. With regard to two sectors – poultry, where we are a European leader, and cattle, where we are one of the top three European leaders – these are indeed thousands of jobs, so we believe this agreement should be blocked. - said Adam Jarubas in "Political Graffiti" on Polsat News.

08:06

Szefernaker:

Nawrocki-Tusk Meeting Will Take Place

- The Prime Minister, pointing out that there may be peaceful solutions in Ukraine in January, also indicated that consequently there will be an urgent meeting needed with the President. The President, of course, if there is such a will from the Prime Minister on matters important for Poland, for security, will meet. That is clear - stated Paweł Szefernaker in "Rozmowa Piaseckiego" on TVN24.

08:10

Szefernaker on Nawrocki's talks with Sikorski:

I am convinced a compromise is possible.

- I am convinced that a compromise is possible here, just as for instance in matters concerning generals, which are constitutionally and structurally the same as matters concerning ambassadors. Good will from both sides is needed here, and fewer discussions in the media, with more talks about how to solve this problem - stated Paweł Szefernaker in "Rozmowa Piaseckiego" on TVN24.

08:34

Jabłoński:

PO Perpetrated a Gigantic Visa Lie

- This indictment [against Piotr Wawrzyk] is, in reality, primarily an indictment against Civic Platform and all the people who perpetrated this gigantic visa lie - Paweł Jabłoński stated on "Gość Radia ZET" (Radio ZET Guest).

- They talked about hundreds of thousands of supposedly illegally issued visas. Meanwhile, the prosecutor's office, already politically controlled by Mr. Żurek, states that there were several hundred such visas, these suspicious, potential irregularities, if I remember correctly, not even 600 in total. Not 600 thousand, but 600 units - he continued.

- Of course, if there were irregularities, they must be explained. Even if there was one illegally issued visa or an illegally scheduled appointment, it is an irregularity and must be explained. But all of this shows that the scale that Platforma talked about, when attacking the Law and Justice government, was simply a big, gigantic visa lie, and I am glad that this is also breaking through to public opinion - he assessed.

08:41

Jabłoński:

I will vote against the bill on the status of a next of kin

- I have the impression that this project [on the status of a next of kin] actually constitutes a masking of the real goal, which, perhaps due to a lack of control over what she was saying, Minister Kotula admitted at a press conference, that it is actually about enabling adoption of children by same-sex couples, by homosexual couples - said Paweł Jabłoński in 'Gość Radia ZET'.

- I disagree with this. I believe that this is an improper solution, that it is a solution that violates the rights of children to be raised by parents of both sexes. And therefore, if this is the government's goal, as Ms. Kotula essentially stated yesterday at a press conference, I believe that it absolutely cannot be agreed to and I will vote against it - he declared.

Szefernaker to Piasecki: I'm very happy to spend the last day of the year at TVN

- I am very happy that in such a wonderful year, a good year for Poland, in which Karol Nawrocki became president, I can spend the last day of the year right here at your station. Thank you very much for the invitation - stated Paweł Szefernaker in "Rozmowa Piaseckiego" on TVN24.

08:56

Jabłoński:

It's Hard to Be Surprised Americans Are Calling and Saying They Don't Want to Talk to Tusk

- One can applaud the fact that Donald Tusk actually admits what the reality is: that Americans don't want to talk to him for some reason. I think we all know, among other things, why. The way he referred to Donald Trump, to his administration, did not bring him effectiveness – said Paweł Jabłoński in "Gość Radia ZET".

In his opinion: - It's a bit of a paradox that many European leaders, also critical of Trump, managed to establish relations with Trump. But Tusk not only failed to do so, but continues to worsen these relations all the time. He is constantly posting some strange messages on social media, further antagonizing Americans for no apparent reason.

- In such a situation, it's hard to be surprised that Americans can call and say they don't want to talk to Tusk, they prefer to talk to President Nawrocki – he assessed.

Coalition with Braun? Jabłoński: I would prefer not to be forced into it

- As Law and Justice (PiS), we must work on increasing support for our political camp. [...] One considers coalitions after the elections, when there is no independent majority; then you enter into a coalition. If there is a majority close to an independent one, then forming such a coalition is easier. If the majority is far from an independent one, it is much more difficult. And that is my answer at this stage. We will not be saying now that we will be with this one, and not with that one - Paweł Jabłoński said on 'Gość Radia ZET'.

- In general, I am against various kinds of radicalism that Grzegorz Braun's party sometimes presents, and I would prefer not to be forced into a coalition with people who hold such radical views. And I hope that there will be no such need at all, that Poles will simply choose wisely, choose people who will form a responsible, stable government - he continued.

Kierwiński on Hydrological Threat: For Now, the Threat is Slowly Subsiding

- Over yesterday afternoon, evening, and today until 10 AM, we recorded almost 600 calls to the fire department or police regarding the need for intervention. The vast majority of these incidents have already been handled by the services, if I may say so, although there are still places where work is ongoing. - said Marcin Kierwiński at a press conference.

- Regarding the hydrological situation, concerning the situation in Elbląg and Frombork, which was the main focus of attention last night in terms of potential hydrological threat, the situation appears to be under control. Yesterday, we had 12 flood alert levels exceeded. Today, only 1 alert level is exceeded, and by very little, meaning 1 centimeter. The actions of the services subordinate to the Ministry of Interior and Administration involved securing homes and buildings in Elbląg. Almost 380 linear meters of flood barriers were deployed, and it seems that all measures taken by the fire brigade have secured the city. For today, I emphasize for today, because I will also speak about the weather forecast, the threat is slowly subsiding. - Marcin Kierwiński continued.

11:41

Kierwiński:

The October 15th Coalition Will Work So Hard Over the Next Two Years That They Will Win the Election

- I am convinced that the entire October 15th coalition will work so hard over the next two years that it will recreate its mandate, win the next parliamentary elections. Each member of this coalition is an equal, independent partner, and we are rooting for each of them - said Marcin Kierwiński at a press conference.

Klimczak on Czarzasty's Decision Regarding Mileage Allowances: It Doesn't Help at All, It Further Complicates the System

- I am a Member of Parliament, but I do not use mileage allowances. Primarily because I use transportation provided by the Ministry of Infrastructure. If I were to assess Marshal Czarzasty's decision, it doesn't help at all; it further complicates the system. Our voters, the public, expected either a clear, understandable system for accounting for these allowances, or for there to be no mileage allowances at all, and a decision to be made on one variant. Today, this system has been further complicated by the Marshal. I don't know if the Marshal has ever used mileage allowances, if he drives a car, but he has introduced nothing good - Dariusz Klimczak said at a press conference.

12:02

Morawiecki in a Recording Appeals for Support:

2026 Will Be a Year of Battles for a Normal Poland.

- I promise you one thing – 2026 will be a year of struggles, of battles, battles for a normal Poland – says Mateusz Morawiecki in a recording published on social media.

- Today we see chaos, improvisation, and incompetence. We see a state that, instead of developing, is regressing. From the dramatic situation in healthcare and the state budget, to the liquidation or gigantic delays in key development and infrastructure programs – the former prime minister continues.

- Poles want one thing today: a normal Poland, safe and ambitious. And I am maximally mobilized. Every day I take a step towards the Poland that Poles deserve – he indicated.

- But of course, I cannot do it alone, no one can do it alone. I need you, your support, your presence, your activity, and your courage. Together we will succeed – he concluded.

12:06

Klimczak:

The Sejm Chancellery is Still in the PRL Era. I Believe Czarzasty Will Bring the Chancellery into the 21st Century

- I am not the Marshal of the Sejm, but if I were, I would carry out a thorough reform of the Sejm Chancellery, because the PRL era is still present there. The Sejm Chancellery functions like in the time of King Popiel, that's how this office operates. I have worked in several types of offices, and this is absolutely no jab at the current Marshal; he has only just begun his term, and I believe that in cooperation with those who know about administration, he will finally bring the Sejm Chancellery into the 21st century. Because when I moved from the Marshal's office in Łódź to the Sejm Chancellery, I felt like I had gone back to the 19th century. - said Dariusz Klimczak at a press conference.

Prime Minister Announces Crisis Staff Meeting on Weather Situation

"I am receiving ongoing information from services and ministers about the situation on roads, railways, airports, and in areas threatened by flooding. At 4:00 PM, I will participate in a meeting of the crisis staff," wrote Prime Minister Donald Tusk on the X portal.

13:00

Czarzasty Makes a Move Regarding the Nearest Relative Status Act:

As Planned

“The draft bill on the status of the nearest relative in a relationship has been sent for printing. As planned. For the new year” – wrote Sejm Marshal Włodzimierz Czarzasty on the X portal.

16:09

Tusk at the Crisis Staff Meeting:

We Must Assume Pessimistic Scenarios So As Not To Be Surprised.

- I will be asking for quick, very concrete, and precise information. Firstly, we must start with the most up-to-date weather forecast, both for New Year's Eve evening and night, and for the following day. We are aware, based on our experiences, that it unequivocally follows that we must, one way or another, assume pessimistic scenarios for all our services, so as not to be surprised in any way - stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk during the crisis staff meeting.

20:00

President Nawrocki's New Year's Address:

A New Good Direction in 2026.

- For me personally, the past year has undoubtedly been one of the most significant. I thank everyone who trusted me. I will also consistently strive to convince those who held a different opinion. I assure you that for a single moment I will not forget to whom and for what purpose this choice is to serve. The slogan: "Poland First, Poles First" is not a sentence – it is a task – stated President Karol Nawrocki in his New Year's address.

"Poles Spoke Clearly"

- In the past year, with their choice, Poles spoke clearly: we do not like what is. They clearly showed that the country's affairs are not going in the right direction; that change is needed; that the voice of the citizen must once again be the decisive voice. You have indicated the direction in which we should be heading – the President of the Republic of Poland continued.

"A New Good Direction in 2026"

As the head of state said in the address: - This New Good Direction in 2026 must therefore mean: Development, Security, a better life for citizens.

"We Will Participate in G20 Talks"

- Poland has found itself in a place that not long ago seemed difficult to achieve. We will participate in G20 talks, meaning among the world's largest economies. As the first Polish President, I was invited to this group's summit by President Donald Trump during my visit to the White House – Nawrocki emphasized.

"Now Our Task is to Make Success Last"

- It is We, all Poles, who stand behind this success. Now our task is to make it last. Poland in the G20 must be a direction for the coming years and decades. A state that wants to permanently belong to the ranks of the strongest cannot be ambitious only for a moment. It must be modern, efficient, and just on a daily basis – he said.

"We Must Translate This Development into the Daily Lives of Every Polish Woman and Every Polish Man"

He continued: - It must ensure that all citizens benefit from development, not just selected groups. Development cannot just be statistics. A strong state does not exist solely in economic reports; a strong state exists in the daily lives of its citizens. If we want to be permanently among the best, then we must translate this development into the daily lives of every Polish woman and every Polish man.

"A Strong and Developed State Cannot Leave the Sick Without Help, or Birthing Women Without Care"

- A strong and developed state cannot leave the sick without help, or birthing women without care. In schools, besides education, it must foster patriotic attitudes that build us as a national community. It must care for families. It must ensure that we are a demographically strong society. Being a mother, a Polish Mother, is a reason for respect and pride. The state must support all women who lovingly undertake the difficult task of caring for and raising new citizens of the Republic – Nawrocki stated.

"Let This Be One, Our Common, Good Direction"

- Three goals – Development, Security, a better life – let this be one, our common, good direction for this coming New Year! – he added. – Let 2026 be the year of the New Good Direction. For Poland. For Poles – he said.
