Saryusz-Wolski:

I'm Glad Nawrocki Was Absent Yesterday. He'll Soon Have an Opportunity for a Much More Substantive Talk

I am very glad that Mr. President Nawrocki was not there, because he will soon have the opportunity for a much more substantive discussion, on September 3rd, with Mr. President Trump. However, the composition [of yesterday's meeting] was shaped by Kyiv and Berlin. So, the question is why Prime Minister Tusk was not there, but that's a question for him – stated Jacek Saryusz-Wolski on Radio Wnet, when asked about yesterday's summit in Washington.

Well, the rule is simple and also known from private life. Guests I invite are the ones who come to me. And by now, it can be said that it has become established that there are two formats. There are guests whom President Trump invites, and then in that group, Poland, in the person of President Karol Nawrocki, occupies a prominent place. And there are guests whose discussions with Washington are organized by Berlin, or Berlin, as recently, hand in hand with Kyiv. And then in those discussions, if he participates – and the question is in which carriage – the Prime Minister of the Polish government, Donald Tusk, takes part – he continued.

Cooperation in Poland's interest [with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs] will only just begin. One must clearly state that as of today, it does not exist, but it should. And I very much hope that Minister Sikorski, acting in Poland's well-understood interest, will want to cooperate with the President of the Republic of Poland, who, according to the Constitution, is the highest representative of Poland in foreign relations – Jacek Saryusz-Wolski said later in the conversation.
