- The scandal associated with the Pilecki Institute, I remind you, the Pilecki Institute is an institution founded by the Polish government a few years ago to defend the Polish historical narrative, including internationally, based on the results of scientific research, based on promoting and educating about Polish historical policy concerning the consequences of two totalitarianisms - said Piotr Gliński at a press conference. - We have recently learned that this institute planned international conferences with Germany on Poland returning cultural property to Germany, because we are apparently indebted to Germany for cultural property looted during World War II - he continued. - This is such a huge scandal, it has of course provoked reactions online, reactions from Polish society, that it is really high time for this gentleman [Krzysztof Ruchniewicz] to resign - he went on to say. - I call on the Minister of Culture and Prime Minister Tusk to immediately dismiss Director Ruchniewicz from the position of Director of the Pilecki Institute - he added.
