Żukowska:
I expect the new Minister of Justice to find that 'philosopher's stone' for restoring the rule of law
- That [Minister Żurek] will find this philosopher's stone for restoring the rule of law, one that can be realized, and not just an imagined, ideal entity that cannot be achieved. Because if certain things are regulated by law, they cannot be changed by any other means than statutory - stated Anna-Maria Żukowska on "Gość poranka" on TVP INFO, when asked about her expectations of the new Minister of Justice.
- I don't know if he will perform a miracle. I think politics is not a place for miracles. It is a place for arduous work and certain compromises as well. And certainly, it will not be possible to do everything that we would have liked, had we managed to elect a president from our political camp, the ruling coalition. So other things can be done, but the justice system can certainly be improved in many other matters - she continued.
- People are waiting for this, people have simply had enough of being, I don't know, summoned to court three years after being a witness to a car accident; they no longer remember anything about the event. Simply, everything is too slow from their perspective. Not from the perspective of judges, whom we often hear say "too slow, too slow these settlements." Cases before these judges proceed too slowly - she emphasized.
