Tuesday's Political Agenda: Sejm Session Opens, Committee on Glapiński, Duda Meets Moldovan President, Government on Deregulation, Mentzen in Dubicze Cerkiewne
At 10:00, the three-day Sejm session will commence. Today, MPs will address several projects from the government's so-called deregulation package, and in the evening, they will consider three draft resolutions concerning the migration pact. Furthermore, at 9:00, the Sejm's constitutional accountability committee will, in a closed session, determine the further schedule for processing the preliminary motion to bring the NBP President Adam Glapiński to constitutional accountability before the State Tribunal. At 11:00, a press conference will be held in the Sejm with the participation of the PiS club leader Mariusz Błaszczak, PiS Vice-Chairman Mateusz Morawiecki, and PiS Vice-Chairwoman Anna Krupka. At 11:30, President Andrzej Duda will meet with the President of Moldova, Maia Sandu. At 11:30, the Pegasus investigative committee will hear testimony from Piotr Komosiński, followed by Krzysztof Krełowski, and finally witness number 13. At 12:00, the government session will begin. The agenda includes two deregulation projects – amendments to the Education Law and the Teacher's Charter. Additionally, ministers will discuss another amendment to the Teacher's Charter, as well as a draft law concerning the determination of retirement pension amounts from the Social Insurance Fund established in June between 2009–2019, and survivor's pensions for insured individuals whose pensions were determined in June between 2009–2019. At 15:45, in the Presidential Palace, President Andrzej Duda will present state decorations to deserving instructors of scouting organizations. At 18:00, a meeting with Sławomir Mentzen will take place in Dubicze Cerkiewne. "So, the commune where I received the highest support in the presidential elections!" wrote the Confederation leader on social media.

Czarnek on Poland 2050:

There's Some Big Tremor There.
- It looks like there is some big tremor there, in Poland 2050. Besides, it's a party that was composed of various politicians and it's clear it didn't quite stick together. Szymon Hołownia, at his best at the beginning of his tenure as Speaker, when there were these 'Sejmflixes' etc., was the binding agent. - stated Przemysław Czarnek on RMF FM. - Now, the presidential election results show that he is not in his best form, and therefore this binding agent has stopped working, and something is happening in Poland 2050. This is also perhaps the reason why Hołownia met with whom he met and where he met them - he continued.

08:18

Czarnek on Poland 2050 MPs:

At Least Several of Them I've Been Talking to Very Friendly for Many Months.
- At least several [Poland 2050 MPs] I've been talking to very friendly for many months, including in television studios and parliamentary corridors, so if you think about it carefully, there isn't a big difference between us. I'm talking about those few… - stated Przemysław Czarnek on RMF FM.

08:19

Czarnek:

A Technical Government Supported by PiS and Poland 2050 – Absolutely
- It would be difficult for [Szymon Hołownia] to be in a technical government. If we are talking about a technical government, not a political one. But a technical government supported by PiS and by Poland 2050 – absolutely – stated Przemysław Czarnek on RMF FM.

08:25

Czarnek:

It Doesn't Have to Be Just a Technical Government, It Can Also Be a Political One
- The term of office can last until the end of its term, but the coalition will not survive until the end of its term, and hence this proposal for a technical government is very important, but it doesn't have to be just a technical government, it can also be a political government. Without PiS, this cannot be done, PiS has 189 MPs - stated Przemysław Czarnek on RMF FM.

08:27

Hołownia:

I would suggest a meeting with Kaczyński in a different location now. As for the time, I don't know.
- Yes [I would approach a meeting with Kaczyński differently now], primarily I would suggest to the Law and Justice party, to Mr. Jarosław Kaczyński, a meeting in a different location. As for the time, I don't know. [...] In the Sejm, perhaps so - said Szymon Hołownia on "Poranek TOK FM". - I was also traveling then, because I landed in Warsaw at 9 PM. That was the only slot I had for a meeting, 9:30 PM - he continued.

08:27

Bodnar:

The Marshal of the Sejm can and should meet with various politicians, but only under appropriate circumstances
- I would not have met [with Jarosław Kaczyński and Adam Bielan] because it is not my role to meet with opposition politicians – that is the first point. Secondly, certainly not under such circumstances. However, I think it is important that the Marshal of the Sejm can and should meet with various politicians, but of course under appropriate circumstances, with an open visor, in connection with specific topics – said Adam Bodnar in an interview with Beata Lubecka on "Gość Radia ZET". - The Marshal has already stated quite clearly that this meeting, I believe he used such a phrasing, was unfortunate – he indicated.

08:32

Czarnek:

Giertych's Actions Since the Beginning of This Term Are a Disgrace to PO
- If he [Donald Tusk] were 100% aware, he would have hidden Giertych somewhere long ago, but Giertych lost him the presidential elections, with, of course, the great work we put in, but when it comes to the reasons on their side, Giertych's actions since the beginning of this term are a disgrace to PO, and somehow Tusk didn't hide him, but additionally blackmailed Bodnar with him - stated Przemysław Czarnek on RMF FM.

08:33

Hołownia on His Conversation with Kaczyński at Bielan's Home and Duda's Late-Night Visit to the PiS Leader:

This is Something Different.
- It's one thing when a president, elected with a powerful mandate, the head of state, wants to talk for a purpose, to seek advice, because he is unable to make a decision, as I understand it, with Jarosław Kaczyński - Szymon Hołownia said on TOK FM, when asked about his past statement "enough of the president's late-night calls and meetings with the party leader, who must tell him what he thinks" and why he repeated this pattern. - It's another thing when I, also being a party leader, a Member of Parliament, the Speaker of the Sejm, talk to the leader of the opposition, not to seek advice [...] but at his request, to hear what they have to say as a force that today represents half of Poland - he continued. - It was an invitation from Jarosław Kaczyński, and since there is such an invitation, I respond to it in this way - he went on to say.

08:35

Bodnar:

Resignation? I haven't had a single conversation with the Prime Minister on this topic
- It's a bit difficult for me to comment on this topic [my potential resignation], however, I haven't had a single conversation with the Prime Minister on this matter. Of course, the decision is in the Prime Minister's hands - said Adam Bodnar in "Gość Radia ZET". - Every person who holds any position in the government must also, of course, be held accountable, and also discuss various topics. However, in the context of a reconstruction, there was no such conversation - he continued.

08:40

Hołownia:

We Face a Situation Where in Two Years We'll Have Konfederacja with Braun Around 30%
- We face a situation, and I've seen this with my own eyes, where in two years we will have such a problem that we'll have Konfederacja with Braun around 30% - said Szymon Hołownia on TOK FM. - No, first and foremost, I want to see what the possibilities are for talking with various actors on the political scene. By forming this coalition I am forming, we just voted for a vote of confidence for Donald Tusk [...] we need to de-escalate the situation - he continued, when asked if he wanted to prevent this by meeting with Kaczyński.

08:43

Hołownia:

Perhaps I'm More Suited for the UN Than This Stupid Polish Political Brawl
- That's just how I am, I apologize, call it what you want, perhaps I'm more suited for the UN than this stupid Polish brawl, I'm talking about the party brawl, but when I hear 'Jesus Christ, if you don't stop fighting, let the brownshirts come and sort things out,' I hear disturbing things, the kind that perhaps some in Germany heard some time ago - said Szymon Hołownia on TOK FM, responding to the thesis that he is an "ecumenical marshal."

08:46

President-Elect Likely Won't Have Trouble Signing a Bill Limiting Government Power. Bodnar on Separating the Justice Minister and Prosecutor General Roles
- Absolutely [the separation of the Minister of Justice and Prosecutor General functions can be expected], because an appropriate bill has been prepared, it has been reviewed by the Venice Commission, and it has even been amended to address all the Venice Commission's comments - said Adam Bodnar on "Gość Radia ZET". - What's more, Prime Minister Donald Tusk, in his mini-exposé delivered during the vote of confidence, stated that the government intends to move forward with such a bill and present it - he noted. - In essence, this was perhaps the only bill concerning this broadly understood sphere of the rule of law, which the Prime Minister mentioned in his speech. So I think we should expect it in the near future - he pointed out. - I have the impression that the president-elect, or the new president, likely won't have trouble signing a bill that limits the government's power and transfers decisions and authority into the hands of an independent Prosecutor General - he stated.

08:59

Hołownia:

Poland's Dispute Isn't Left vs. Right, It's Top vs. Bottom, People vs. Elites – and Extremists Have Seen This
- We truly need to understand that today in Poland, the dispute is not left versus right; today, the dispute in Poland is top versus bottom, people versus elites, and extremists have seen this and are playing this card very well. We completely fail to see it; we are an elite group in this Sejm, which, in my opinion, is flying further and further away from reality - said Szymon Hołownia on TOK FM.

09:00

"Creative Fairy Tale Writing": Bodnar Asked About Article on "Impunity Law"
- Yesterday I read that article [about the "impunity law"] in the portal “Do Rzeczy,” I believe. I read it and thought to myself: Good heavens, this is some kind of creative fairy tale writing. And I even wondered: Well, should I react to this and issue a statement: “No, there was no such law, nobody undertook such work, and what are you even talking about?” thereby legitimizing this article? Or should I just ignore it completely?” said Adam Bodnar on “Gość Radia ZET”. - It wouldn’t even have occurred to me at all, to work on something like that, and I have the impression it’s some sort of strange attempt to create some kind of alternative reality altogether,” he assessed. - The question arises at all, what reaction should [be taken]. Should we sue the editorial office for creating articles based on some rumors or the editor’s creative imagination, or how should we react?” he continued. As he emphasized: – Nothing of the sort happened. Besides, all the actions I take are absolutely in line with the law, and I am even criticized for it, for why I am so slow.

09:03

Hołownia:

If Someone Says 'He's an Unelected Pimp,' I Must Protest
- If someone says 'the votes need to be recounted,' that's fine, but if someone says 'he's an unelected pimp because we don't know what the votes were' and will now question his mandate, then as a statesman, I must protest against that - said Szymon Hołownia on TOK FM.

09:06

Hołownia on Public Media:

A Venom Gland Turned into a Candy Factory for PO.
- Because they are [public media are government media], the venom gland has turned into a candy factory for the Civic Platform, and this needs to change - said Szymon Hołownia on TOK FM.

09:09

Hołownia:

We Should Have a Deputy Prime Minister and a Deputy Speaker
- I believe we should have a Deputy Prime Minister, I believe we should have a Deputy Speaker [...] of course, there is this candidacy, but we are in internal party discussions on this matter - said Szymon Hołownia in TOK FM, when asked if he was going to the meeting with Donald Tusk with the proposal for Katarzyna Pełczyńska-Nałęcz to be Deputy Prime Minister. - Regarding the Deputy Speaker [...] I would like the parliamentary club to nominate someone, because that's how it should be - he continued.

09:13

Vote Recount in Over 200 Commissions. Bodnar: The Entire Procedure Will Begin Early Next Week
- There are 296 such commissions. This is the number that results from the opinion prepared by Professor Haman, who indicated that these are the commissions regarding which there may be a risk of higher anomalies, which could necessitate the verification of votes - Adam Bodnar said on "Gość Radia ZET". - Even yesterday I spoke with prosecutor Katarzyna Kwiatkowska, who is leading the team tasked with this recount. It is at this stage that appropriate orders have been issued to the regional prosecutors, and then to the district prosecutors - he continued. - They are now in the process of gathering all documentation and moving on to the physical act of inspection, also, of course, informing all interested parties, i.e., representatives of the electoral committees, so that they can participate in this procedure - he indicated. As he added: - I think that early next week this entire procedure will physically commence.

09:45

Hołownia:

I Decided to Extend the Next Sejm Session
- I would like all these draft bills that are arriving in the Sejm, and there have been over a dozen of them already in July, especially the deregulatory ones, to be reviewed before the holidays, which is why I decided to extend the next Sejm session by one day. So, instead of starting on Wednesday, we will start on Tuesday - stated Szymon Hołownia at a press conference in the Sejm.

09:51

Hołownia:

Tusk Secretly Met with Duda on a Warship
- The Prime Minister [Donald Tusk] met with President Duda, who is not from his political grouping, also in secret, on a warship. You probably remember such a situation, you also experienced it, you tried to ascertain the details of this meeting - stated Szymon Hołownia at a press conference in the Sejm.

09:54

Hołownia on Zimoń:

He hasn’t been cooperating, hasn’t been a team player
- The situation with Tomek Zimoń is not something that arose yesterday; it has been building for over a year, or even longer. I consider Tomek a wonderful person, I think he is phenomenal, he was a phenomenal journalist, we all know his achievements. He is a phenomenal social activist, Tomek is a machine for carrying out social initiatives, he is a person who can organize a competition, an event, gather people, rally them, he is simply a human machine for it - stated Szymon Hołownia at a press conference in the Sejm. - However, he has not been cooperating, he has not been a team player with our movement for a long time. Therefore, what has happened now is merely a confirmation of the facts that have occurred. If someone is in our movement, they are warmly invited - he continued to say.

09:56

Hołownia on potential departures from Poland 2050:

I tell our MPs and activists directly.
- I tell my MPs, or rather our MPs, activists, directly: if you want to submit your resignation, to leave, please come to me with the documents, the paperwork, lay it on the table, look me in the eye and tell me you want to leave. Don't drag this out through the media, don't create a stink with leaks or rumours - stated Szymon Hołownia at a press conference in the Sejm.

09:57

Hołownia:

I Don't See Anyone Wanting to Leave Poland 2050
- There are no such people on the horizon, I don't see any, who would want to leave Poland 2050. We are in the opposite process today, meaning we need more unity today - stated Szymon Hołownia at a press conference in the Sejm.

10:04

"A Good Starting Proposal." Hołownia on Government Reshuffle Concepts and "Another Lap"
- The Prime Minister presented us with his proposals, we had a very long, probably 4-hour conversation on this topic, on the subject of this proposal. This is a proposal, we will work on it, it is a good starting proposal. Today, indeed, we have another lap to complete, because we heard the proposals, we went back to our respective groupings, and we are returning after what we heard, because it is not I who have the majority, but the MPs decide, the groupings decide - stated Szymon Hołownia at a press conference in the Sejm.

- Today will probably be the second lap, or the last one? Not the last one in my assessment. Probably one or two more laps will be needed to finalize this process - he continued.

10:06

Hołownia Suggests Postponing Government Reconstruction Deadline
- You ask if it's July 15th. I've also spoken about this with the Prime Minister recently. I believe a more realistic date, and one I've proposed, is the second Sejm session in July, meaning July 22nd-25th, and I will urge our coalition partners to conclude this process then, but certainly before the presidential inauguration and the August recess – stated Szymon Hołownia at a press conference in the Sejm.

10:44

"Are We Certain Hołownia’s Meeting with Kaczyński Wasn’t Recorded?" Zgorzelski Speaks of "Imprudence"
- It shouldn't be surprising that politicians talk, but imprudence should be surprising. Imprudence, because I wonder if this meeting [between Szymon Hołownia and Jarosław Kaczyński] was prepared from a counterintelligence security perspective - said Piotr Zgorzelski on the program “Onet Rano”. - Let's remember that Szymon Hołownia is the second person in the state, he travels constantly with the Government Protection Bureau (SOP) protection. Every meeting, whether he likes it or not - just like Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, who is under the protection of the Military Police - a counterintelligence procedure is carried out completely independently of them. Officers arrive with dogs, with devices to check for dangerous loads, or for recording devices. Do we have certainty today that this meeting was not recorded? - he asked. - This is the aspect of imprudence. One can assume with a high degree of probability that no daredevil would install a recording device in the Sejm Marshal's offices, although it cannot be ruled out - he added.

10:45

Kosiniak-Kamysz Responds to Accusations and Provides Data:

We are securing the border.
- In 2023, 12,000 people were turned back from Germany with a Belarusian trace. 12,000 people during your government. We have been securing the border since the beginning of 2024, changing the philosophy, introducing a safe Podlasie, cooperation between the Border Guard, the army, the police, with 11,000 soldiers and officers constantly at the border. The first effects are coming in 2024, this number is falling to 5,000, and in 2025, thanks to Minister Siemoniak's efforts and the Border Guard, the barrier has been secured. In 2025, it will be 800 people - stated Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz in the Sejm.

10:47

Kosiniak-Kamysz to PiS: Your shouting won't drown out your guilt for letting thousands of migrants into Poland
- Your shouting won't drown out your guilt for letting thousands of migrants, Muslims, into Poland. A large portion of them passed through Poland in an uncontrolled manner - stated Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz in the Sejm.

10:51

Kosiniak-Kamysz to PiS:

Convince Bąkiewicz’s Activists.
- Convince Mr. Bąkiewicz’s activists that if they truly want to protect Poland’s borders, and not just serve emotions, if they truly want to protect them, then there are formations they should join immediately – stated Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz in the Sejm.

10:52

Why Did Hołownia Meet with Kaczyński? Zgorzelski: In My Opinion, He Wanted to Show That the October 15 Coalition is Not Without Alternatives
- What was he fighting for, going to that meeting [with Kaczyński and Bielan]? In my opinion, he was fighting for two things. The first thing is the individual dimension. Let's not hide the fact that Szymon Hołownia has an appetite to hold the position of Speaker for longer - said Piotr Zgorzelski in the program „Onet Rano”. - The second thing - in my opinion, because we didn't discuss it or write an agenda together - is to show that the October 15 coalition is not a coalition without alternatives. I think that was also the goal of such a visit - he stated.

11:17

Zgorzelski:

Government Reconstruction Planned for July 15th. That Day Marks the Anniversary of the Battle of Grunwald, When Poles Drove Out the Germans
- The government reconstruction is set to conclude on July 15th. I must say that if this is the case, Prime Minister Donald Tusk is exhibiting significant political masochism. Because July 15th is the anniversary of the Battle of Grunwald, where Poles drove out the Germans. And yet, everyone in PiS knows who is heading the Polish government – stated Piotr Zgorzelski on the program “Onet Rano”. - I think [Donald Tusk] will appreciate this jest – he added.

11:33

Przydacz:

Our One Goal is to Serve the Republic of Poland
Our one goal is to serve the Republic of Poland. To do those things the President committed to during his campaign and, of course, to also block those solutions that, from our perspective, are bad. I'm referring here, for example, to issues concerning the Migration Pact or the Green Deal. All of this, which unfortunately is largely being implemented by the current government somewhat unconditionally and unthinkingly - stated Marcin Przydacz in "Sygnały dnia" on PR1.

11:33

Przydacz:

I Have the Impression This Government is Already Toppling Itself
- It is not our main objective to topple anyone. I have the impression that this government is already toppling itself. These internal quarrels, dealing with themselves, are causing Poles to trust this government less and less – stated Marcin Przydacz in "Sygnały dnia" on PR1.

11:33

Przydacz on the Kaczyński-Hołownia Conversation:

One Can Draw a Parable to What is Happening Today in the Third Polish Republic.
- I wasn't there, but we heard, they [Jarosław Kaczyński and Szymon Hołownia] discussed, among other things, the causes of the fall of the First Polish Republic in the 18th century. This was the main axis of this conversation. Anyone who knows President Jarosław Kaczyński knows that he has a fondness for history - stated Marcin Przydacz on "Sygnały dnia" PR1. - However, I am convinced that a certain kind of parabola was also being created here. In reference to the causes of the fall of the First Polish Republic in the 18th century, including through external influences, including through the fact that foreign states played out the then Polish ruling elites. This was one of – the Kraków school speaks of this – the reasons for the state's weakness and its downfall, so one can draw a parable to what is happening today in the Third Polish Republic - he continued.

11:34

Przydacz:

No Conditions for Ukraine's NATO Accession Today
- 'There are no conditions today for Ukraine's entry into NATO, nor are there any in the perspective of the next few years. For Poland to be able to think about further positive actions at all, in my opinion, the rulers in Kyiv should undertake certain actions and gestures that are important to Poles. Historical policy is one of the elements, but also economic issues,' stated Marcin Przydacz on "Sygnały dnia" (Signals of the Day) on PR1.

11:41

Błaszczak:

Border Guard is Neglected and Lacks Clear Orders Not to Admit Migrants Brought by Germans
- The government of Donald Tusk did not react properly; at first, they downplayed the issue, [...] only under pressure from public opinion, the Border Defense Movement, and us, PiS parliamentarians, who were at the German border last week, inspected Border Guard posts, talked to residents of border areas, with people active in the Border Defense Movement, under our pressure, controls on the German border were reinstated - said Mariusz Błaszczak at a press conference. - But it is too late and too little. Why too late? Because we have been dealing with a migration crisis on the western border for many months. And too little - because the Border Guard in the current situation is a neglected service, has many vacancies, is unable to ensure border security, and lacks a clear and precise order that the Polish Border Guard should not admit migrants brought by Germans - he continued.

11:53

Błaszczak:

The Government is Trying to Introduce Censorship and is Fighting Polish Patriots
- German press reports that, for example, since the beginning of May, over 1000 people have been brought to Poland. [...] When the Border Defense Movement, parliamentarians from the PiS parliamentary club, presented documents in the form of videos and recordings, we now hear that the government has introduced a principle prohibiting the documenting of these events by classifying border crossings as critical infrastructure - Mariusz Błaszczak stated at a press conference. - This must be assessed unequivocally – we are dealing with a government that is trying to introduce censorship, which is not fighting illegal migration, but is fighting Polish patriots who are highlighting the crisis occurring on our western border - he assessed.

12:22

"The Government Failed to Handle the Migration Crisis. Entrepreneurs Are Suffering." Morawiecki Proposes "Western Shield"
- Alongside security-related issues, [...] we are also dealing with the tragedies of thousands of Polish entrepreneurs. They, in the sectors of gastronomy, transport, border trade, [...] as well as tourism, are already beginning to feel the consequences of the fact that the Polish government failed to handle this crisis properly and at the right time – said Mateusz Morawiecki at a press conference. - There is one specific response to this crisis: hey you there, German comrades, take this problem of yours, which you yourselves have generated, back to Berlin. Leave us alone. We want to be wise before the damage, not after the damage, and therefore we are not accepting your illegal migrants, who commit crimes, rapes, offenses, robberies. We want to have a safe state – he continued. - Entrepreneurs, who on the western border of Poland are already beginning to incur losses, their incomes are decreasing, they are suffering because the Polish state did not cope at the appropriate time, deserve a shield. “Western Shield”, but let’s also remember about the “Suwałki Shield” or along the entire eastern border. [...] Today we have contacts with entrepreneurs from that over 100-kilometer Polish-Lithuanian border. A shield should also be launched there immediately – emphasized the Vice-Chairman of PiS.

12:29

Morawiecki:

Can this government, with this Prime Minister, stand up to Berlin? It's not visible.
- What do you think, can this government, with this prime minister, stand up to Berlin [...] even as much as Luxembourg? Well, we don't see it. Already, over 10,000 people have been pushed across our border by Germany. Potentially, among these people, we have many individuals who will likely also pose a threat to our security - said Mateusz Morawiecki at a press conference.

12:38

Morawiecki:

Citizens at the Border Stopped Many Illegal Immigrants Who Wanted to Enter Poland
- The current coalition is proposing a smoke-screen policy. Instead of rejoicing and thanking citizens for helping to stop a large wave of illegal migration at the western border – because yes, these people certainly stopped many illegal immigrants who wanted to enter the territory of the Republic of Poland – they are creating a smoke-screen – said Mateusz Morawiecki at a press conference.

12:47

Morawiecki:

Ban on photography and filming at the border – I remember this from communist times
- They don't allow drone operations, they don't allow filming. I remember this from communist times: a ban on photography, a ban on filming. Why such a ban at border crossings? Because they are afraid that citizens will film when German services bring illegal migrants, in order to push them onto Polish territory - said Mateusz Morawiecki at a press conference.

12:47

Morawiecki:

As PiS, we will remain present at the border, in many places
- We will remain, as PiS, present at the border in a synchronized manner, in many places simultaneously. We will act in order to repel the wave of illegal migration - said Mateusz Morawiecki at a press conference.

15:05

Szłapka on Border Checks with Germany and Lithuania:

Just Under 7,000 People Checked, One Detained.
- I wanted to briefly [...] provide information regarding the temporary controls introduced at the borders with Lithuania and Germany. [...] So far, just under 7,000 people and over three thousand vehicles have been checked, and one person has been detained. This is an Estonian citizen who attempted to transport four Afghan citizens - said Adam Szłapka at a press conference. - The checks are proceeding without incident, and the Border Guard is in control of everything - he continued.

15:09

Szłapka on Trust in Hołownia After His Meeting with Kaczyński:

Luckily, I'm Not the Spokesperson for Poland 2050.
- Regarding trust, I understand you are asking me as a government spokesperson, not for my personal opinion, so in this situation, I must answer that it was not a topic of today's government meeting and no one discussed trust - Adam Szłapka said at a press conference, when asked if trust in Marshal Szymon Hołownia had changed after his meeting with Jarosław Kaczyński. - Luckily, I am a government spokesperson, not a spokesperson for Poland 2050, because, frankly, I don't know what I would have to answer on this matter - he continued.

15:21

Szłapka on the border situation:

No one observing the law needs to fear any consequences.
- Nobody has any problem with various social initiatives, because that's not what this is about. We clearly see that we are dealing with a very strongly politicized attempt. There are Law and Justice politicians there [at the border], there is also a direct Law and Justice politician, he even ran on their lists, very radical, Robert Bąkiewicz, who insulted officers - said Adam Szłapka at a press conference. - No one who observes the law needs to fear any consequences. If we are dealing with situations where someone impersonates officers, meaning they unlawfully try to search vehicles or Polish citizens, it's difficult to expect the relevant services not to react - he continued.

15:32

"Civic Formation" Supporting the Border Guard? Szłapka: I Can't Imagine a Formation Managed by Bąkiewicz Being Created
- I cannot imagine a situation where a formation is created in Poland that is managed by Robert Bąkiewicz - said Adam Szłapka at a press conference, when asked about the potential creation of a special act allowing for the functioning of a "civic formation" at the border to support the Border Guard. - It seems that Mr. Robert Bąkiewicz also appears to have had some serious legal problems and is a person filled with very deep aversion and hatred, and I myself have seen various recordings where he truly attacked Polish officers - he continued.

15:35

Parliamentarian Leaves Poland 2050:

The Decision Has Been Brewing for a Long Time.
- Today, I have submitted my resignation from membership in the Poland 2050 party and the parliamentary club. This decision, though not easy, has been brewing within me for a long time. The politics pursued by the leaders of Poland 2050 is in significant divergence from the values that guide me, the values we went to the elections with. In my opinion, it is based on an inherently flawed strategy – informed Izabela Bodnar on social media. - I intend to work as an unaffiliated member of parliament, in close cooperation with the Coalition of 15th October, to continue the projects I have been leading and to support all initiatives that serve Poles – the parliamentarian emphasized.

16:57

I. Bodnar: Our Visions with Poland 2050 Leaders Have Been Diverging for a Long Time
- My decision is based on the fact that for a long time now, our visions with the party leaders have unfortunately started to diverge. I had a slightly different strategy regarding what we should do and where Poland should be heading now. I believe the biggest priority for all democratic camps should now be mobilization to win the parliamentary elections in 2.5 years - Izabela Bodnar told journalists.

I. Bodnar: PiS Politicians Should Not Be Treated as Equal Partners. Szymon Made a Mistake
- We cannot place the democratic Civic Coalition on an equal footing, which may not be fulfilling its election promises as quickly as it would like, but it certainly adheres to democratic values [...] placing Law and Justice, which overturned the table for the last 8 years, on the same scale, in my opinion, we should not be bringing into our homes - said Izabela Bodnar in a conversation with journalists. - We should not, at this moment, invite Law and Justice to talks, to negotiations, because for 8 years they have shown that they trampled on the law, violated the Constitution, and disregarded human rights - she continued. - No, I do not think they should be surrounded by a cordon, but I believe they have pushed themselves into this gray zone by breaking the law, and I think they should not be, unfortunately, Szymon made this mistake, be treated as an equal partner - she went on to say.

I. Bodnar: Hołownia's Conversation with PiS Was the Last Straw for My Decision
- I don't know if [Szymon Hołownia] is a hundred percent symmetrist, but I believe that his conversation with the Law and Justice party [...] last week showed, and then the explanation that he essentially wanted to invite them to the table, to somehow bring the Law and Justice party into the political salons, which emboldened them greatly, I think it was harmful and for my decision, I won't hide it, it was a kind of last straw - Izabela Bodnar told journalists.

Moving to Civic Platform or Another Party? I. Bodnar: I Haven't Spoken to Anyone, I'm Not Considering It
- I haven't spoken to anyone, I'm not considering joining any party at this moment; it's too soon for me to make such a decision and immediately fall into the arms of another group. For some time, I will be an independent, unaffiliated Member of Parliament - Izabela Bodnar told journalists when asked if she was considering moving to Civic Platform or another party.

And this is the true genesis of her decision" - reads the statement published on Polska 2050's profile on X.

Sasin on the Border Defence Movement:

A Reflex of Opposition from a Society Defending Itself Against Danger.
- The Border Defence Movement is indeed such a reflex of social opposition, a natural reaction of a society defending itself against danger that is being brought upon it by an irresponsible government and our neighbor, in this case Germany, and glory to the movement for being written about in this way in Germany. This is the best proof that it is a pro-Polish, patriotic, patriotic movement that we urgently need right now – stated Jacek Sasin on TV Republika.

18:31

Sasin:

Offer of an Expert or Technical Government Remains on the Table
- It cannot be ruled out that this will happen, that they will consolidate after a period of turmoil, around Tusk and Tusk will drag them towards catastrophe. But there are other paths, and they are still open. The offer of an expert or technical government remains on the table - stated Jacek Sasin on TV Republika.

"This is what we fear most." Siemoniak after briefing on "resource activation"
These data, which have been provided to us, these forecasts incline us to make a decision to activate resources due to very significant threats concerning storms, tempests, flash floods, and rising river levels - stated Tomasz Siemoniak at a press conference. - The scale of the threats covers approximately half of the country's territory, but the nature of these events, as our partners responsible for meteorology say, is such that it is impossible to predict exactly where and what might happen. Hence the involvement of all voivodes - continued the head of the Ministry of Interior and Administration. - We have decided to activate resources, knowing that 8 PM today is a kind of hour zero, where continuous rain and what we fear most – such a buildup, continuous rain and storm phenomena – can be expected - he added.

Kosiniak-Kamysz:

Services on Highest Alert
-

All services, state services, and local government services have been placed on the highest alert in places and areas where we anticipate the most severe weather phenomena, heaviest rainfall, downpours, and thunderstorms - stated Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz at a press conference.

Siemoniak on Border Controls:

We Have Four Cases of Being Sent Back to Germany.
- Regarding the German side, we have four cases of individuals being sent back to Germany who should have undergone readmission procedures there, meaning a thorough check of their origins - stated Tomasz Siemoniak in an interview with Dorota Wysocka-Schnepf on the TVP Info program "Pytanie dnia" (Question of the Day). - Yes [Germany tried to send migrants to Poland on a large scale], meaning that by introducing border controls, we clearly told them: there is no question of not admitting illegal migrants at the border and directing them to Poland. Solely and exclusively in accordance with the regulations can this be a readmission procedure, where we must receive evidence from them that these individuals came or arrived from Poland - he continued. - There haven't been any such individuals yet; the readmission cases concern people from before the introduction of controls - he elaborated when asked about the number of such cases.

20:33

Siemoniak:

No Outsiders Have Access to Border Crossings and Cannot Attempt to Control Anything
- Since the introduction of checks, it has been very clearly indicated that the area of border crossings is critical infrastructure and that no outsiders have access there and cannot attempt to control anything. Furthermore, even before that, the Border Guard had reported cases of impersonating officers or obstructing activities to the prosecutor's office - said Tomasz Siemoniak on TVP Info. - These first two days have passed very calmly [...] even those who were protesting or acting within these movements, see that the state has stepped in - he continued.

Paprocka:

If the Prime Minister's request for government changes is submitted, it will be considered by the President. 4 Weeks Remain
- It's hard to say [if President Andrzej Duda will manage to swear in a reconstructed government], because this discussion and meetings have been ongoing for some time. We heard such announcements a few weeks ago from the Prime Minister that a reconstruction was to take place in July, but whether it will ultimately happen - it's difficult to definitively determine today. There are some frictions within the coalition visible - Małgorzata Paprocka said on Polsat News's "Gość Wydarzeń". - I can say purely formally: if the Prime Minister's request for government changes is submitted, it will, of course, be considered by the President. 4 weeks remain. There has never been a situation of any difficulties in agreeing on such significant changes - she indicated.

20:40

Siemoniak:

Hołownia is a patriot of this coalition. Who he meets is his own business
- I have great respect for him [Szymon Hołownia] and we cooperate well on various matters. He is the Marshal of the Sejm, and a meeting of the coalition leaders is currently underway with his participation. I believe that any misunderstandings and doubts will be clarified there - said Tomasz Siemoniak on TVP Info. - I have been asked about this meeting many times. I do not comment on who Marshal Szymon Hołownia meets with; that is his business. I believe he is a patriot of this coalition, a patriot of the October 15th coalition - he continued. - However, it is somewhat different when the Prime Minister meets with the President. A warship is a state facility, yes, it is not some private object - he went on to say, when asked about Szymon Hołownia's 'rebuke' to Donald Tusk for meeting with President Andrzej Duda on a military vessel.

20:50

Siemoniak on the Leak of Information About the Hołownia-Kaczyński Meeting:

Certainly Not the State Protection Service; Bielan's Accusations Were Scandalous.
- It certainly wasn't the State Protection Service (SOP), and the fact that Mr. Adam Bielan accused the State Protection Service without any evidence is simply scandalous, such an attack on officers renowned for their professionalism and discretion – said Tomasz Siemoniak on TVP Info, when asked about the source of the leak concerning the Hołownia-Kaczyński meeting. - That it must have been PiS politicians who passed this information, because they wanted to create confusion within the coalition, they wanted to undermine trust. Indeed, an old Roman proverb states: he is guilty who benefits from it. PiS politicians clearly benefited from this, but I also have no evidence to accuse anyone here – he continued, when asked about the origin of the leak, how to trace it, who it harms and who it benefits, and what conclusion he draws.

20:55

Paprocka on President Duda’s Future:

It’s Not Yet Time to Think About Retirement.
- A president with such incredible political experience, let’s also say, especially this second term, was truly a very unique period in history […], and challenges related first to the pandemic, but then related to the war in Ukraine, enormous international contacts. I think it’s not yet time to think about retirement - said Małgorzata Paprocka in “Gość Wydarzeń” on Polsat News. - As for the “coalition of Polish matters” – the presidential elections showed that there is precisely this space for the Polish right and that a broader political camp must be gathered, because voters have different preferences. […] I think this is the role [of a connector] where the president would truly excel, having very good contacts with representatives of, in fact, all these right-wing formations - she stated.

21:02

Paprocka:

The President Understands Poles' Unease and Their Desire for Truthful Information from the Government on the German Border Situation
- From the very beginning – first the hybrid attack on the Polish-Belarusian border and then throughout all these years when the situation on Poland's borders has been complicated – the President has spoken about it and called for actions that would support the officers performing their duties, and secondly, ensure the safety of all of us citizens, especially women and children – said Małgorzata Paprocka in “Gość Wydarzeń” on Polsat News.

- Such actions, if justified, will of course be supported. However, the President – and this is his most important role – understands the unease of Poles and their desire, firstly, for truthful information from the government about what is happening at the border crossings – especially on the Polish-German border. And secondly, for effective action from the formations and services, which are currently supervised by Donald Tusk's government – stated the Head of the President's Chancellery.

21:17

Paprocka on Kinga Duda’s Wedding in the Presidential Palace:

From the President’s Private Funds.
- It was an absolutely family, private ceremony [Kinga Duda’s wedding]. As far as I know, it was a very small group. I am not a family member – said Małgorzata Paprocka in “Gość Wydarzeń” on Polsat News. - I do not have this knowledge [about the costs of the ceremony] because the Chancellery of the President did not organize this ceremony. I can say one thing: I assure you with full responsibility that the costs of organizing this event are borne by the President from private funds – she emphasized. - The Presidential Palace, besides its representative function, is primarily also the home of the President of the Republic of Poland, his spouse, and children. And it has always been this way – she recalled.

Tusk Tweets About Hołownia's Explanations After Coalition Meeting:

The Government Has a Stable Majority.
- I took Szymon Hołownia's explanations and declaration at today's leaders' coalition meeting seriously. The government has a stable majority - wrote Prime Minister Donald Tusk on social media.
