Tuesday's Political Agenda: Nawrocki with NATO Secretary General, Supreme Court on Election Validity, Government on Deregulation Again, Duda Continues in Seville
Today, a meeting will take place between President-elect Karol Nawrocki and NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte. - We will discuss Poland's future in the North Atlantic Alliance, our common challenges, and what recently happened in The Hague. Mr. Marcin Przydacz, who will be responsible for international affairs in the President's Chancellery, will accompany me on this trip to the NATO Secretary General – Nawrocki told Polsat News. At 12:00, the government will address further projects from the so-called deregulation package – nearly 20 proposals will be considered today. The ministers will also deal with a draft amendment to certain laws aimed at improving road traffic safety, a draft amendment to the law on healthcare benefits financed from public funds, and a draft law on animal health. At 13:00, a public session of the Chamber of Extraordinary Control and Public Affairs of the Supreme Court has been scheduled to adopt a resolution concerning the validity of the elections for the President of the Republic of Poland, held on May 18 and June 1, 2025. President Andrzej Duda continues his visit to Seville – at 15:00, the head of state will participate in a thematic roundtable on 'Revitalizing international development cooperation'.

07:35

Hennig-Kloska:

At this moment, there is no evidence that the election results are different than they are
- The Marshal of the Sejm has already announced that they will organize this swearing-in ceremony, if such a verdict is issued, if there is no other unambiguous evidence that the election results are different, and so far we have no such elements. What will happen, we will discuss when it happens. However, at this moment, it must be said clearly - there is no evidence that the election results are different than they are - stated Paulina Hennig-Kloska in "Rozmowa Piaseckiego" on TVN24.

07:55

Hennig-Kloska on border controls:

I expect this topic to be discussed at the government meeting.
- It's not on the agenda [the topic of reintroducing border controls], I haven't received any official information about it, but it's usually the case that if something causes emotions, we also discuss it at the government meeting. Today there is a government meeting, I expect this topic to be discussed as well, the Prime Minister already referred to it yesterday - stated Paulina Hennig-Kloska in the TVN24 program "Rozmowa Piaseckiego".

07:59

Hennig-Kloska on Poland 2050's Stance:

Selective Controls Should Be Introduced.
- Poland 2050 is of the opinion that selective controls should be introduced at the western border, but also along the Lithuanian section - stated Paulina Hennig-Kloska in "Rozmowa Piaseckiego" on TVN24.

08:03

Hennig-Kloska on Expectations for Government Reconstruction:

She Answered People’s Questions.
- I would like the reconstruction to primarily bring instruments for more efficient government functioning, but also to answer people’s questions about which areas we want to focus on in the second half of this term and what to do to fulfill the promises broadly made - stated Paulina Hennig-Kloska in “Piasecki’s Conversation” on TVN24.

08:05

Hennig-Kloska:

We're in favour of a smaller, more efficient government
- As for Poland 2050, we are in favour, and I personally am in favour, of a smaller, more efficient government. I have nothing against this army being more closely cooperating, more modest, but also more effective - stated Paulina Hennig-Kloska in "Rozmowa Piaseckiego" on TVN24.

08:22

Czarzasty on talks with three voivodes:

Germany is bringing us thousands of migrants? That’s fake news and lies.
- The President-elect can, of course, convene the Council of Ministers and probably should do so often, because the more National Security Councils or Councils of Ministers there are, the better the contact with the President's office - said Włodzimierz Czarzasty in an interview with Grzegorz Kępka on Polsat News's “Graffiti”. - Regarding the western border – yesterday I called the voivodes in three voivodeships: Lower Silesian, Lubusz, and West Pomeranian. I do not confirm thousands of emigrants being brought to Poland by Germany, because that is simply untrue - he indicated. - This is simply fake news and we need to talk about it clearly, we need to talk about the facts clearly. It is simply lies - he emphasized. As he said: - It seems to me that perhaps the border service provided these numbers, because this morning I read it somewhere in the media. It's not thousands at all, but about 30-40 people per month, in relation to a given voivodeship. Therefore, I truly ask for common sense in this matter. The President-elect too.

08:34

Szydło on Elections and Nawrocki's Swearing-in:

I Hope the Coalition Politicians Cool Down and Stop Listening to Instigators Sowing Confusion.
- I am surprised by some experts, especially those with professorial titles, who at this moment, instead of approaching the matter very reasonably and pragmatically and not destroying it, not creating even more chaos than the ruling coalition has already created, are fanning discussions that contribute nothing - said Beata Szydło in the "Morning Interview" on RMF FM, when asked about opinions that Szymon Hołownia might not convene the National Assembly and take power himself. - According to Polish law in force, elections were held, Karol Nawrocki won them, and on August 6th he will be sworn in as president, and I hope that the coalition politicians will eventually cool down a bit and stop listening to those instigators who, instead of thinking about the development of Poland [...] are trying to sow confusion - she continued.

08:40

Situation at the German Border. Czarzasty: Border Closure is Possible, but it's Hysteria Right Now
- The possibility of closing the border also exists. Checks and controls are being carried out at the border, and regarding the closure of the border, if it becomes necessary, Poland will make such decisions - said Włodzimierz Czarzasty in Polsat News's "Graffiti", referring to Roman Giertych's words, who wrote: "Bands need to be removed from the border, but it should also be closed until Germany stops sending migrants back to us." - This is absolute hysteria. Unfortunately, I must say about Mr. Giertych that for several weeks he has been aligning himself with very radical currents in terms of his views - he assessed. - In situations when there is tension, because there is always tension when we have a war, when there are such problems, one should not listen to radicals. One should seek the middle ground and the truth, above all - he stated. - If the border guard service informs about the real facts, about how everything looks, then why should I listen to a PiS activist who, generally speaking, is a PiS activist precisely to lie on this matter? Or why should I admire the bands that were created for reasons unknown, perhaps to create noise? And why should I listen to Roman Giertych, who is sowing emotions on this matter, if I can listen to a representative of the border guard service who is telling the truth? - he asked.

08:43

Even Civic Coalition Politicians See This as Unserious. Szydło on Giertych's Actions
- The mistakes that were made will not affect the election results - Beata Szydło said on RMF FM. - I will, of course, not speak here on behalf of the Supreme Court, let's wait for that decision, but there are all indications that this is how it should happen and I hope it will happen - she continued, when asked if, in her opinion, the Chamber of Extraordinary Review and Public Affairs of the Supreme Court would recognize the validity of the elections. - We cannot currently allow, due to either some frustrations of the ruling coalition politicians, or the desire to shine, or some phobias presented by one of the Civic Platform politicians, who actually fueled this spiral of confusion that is currently occurring - she continued. - Of course, yes [I am referring to Roman Giertych] and even Civic Coalition politicians themselves are now noticing that this is a dead end, it is unserious - she added.

08:47

Szydło:

Tusk Said the Migration Pact Wouldn't Affect Poland. Today, it's Clear Those Were Empty Words
- Tusk himself, at the beginning of his current term, when tensions over illegal migration and the migration pact were already escalating, stated that the migration pact would not concern Poland and that he would do everything to prevent illegal migrants from ending up in Poland. Meanwhile, today it's evident that these were merely words thrown to the wind - stated Beata Szydło on RMF FM.

08:52

Szydło on the Situation at the Polish-German Border:

We Cannot Blame the Border Guard, But We Must Blame the Government.
- Illegal migrants are flooding Europe, and Germany, unable to cope with this problem at home, is pushing these illegal migrants into Poland with the unfortunate consent of the Polish authorities - Beata Szydło said on RMF FM. - Here we cannot blame the Border Guard, we cannot blame the people who are defending themselves against these phenomena, but we must blame the government for not being more decisive and for having no practical actions. The Border Guard, practically speaking, one could say, has been left without support - she continued.

08:56

Szydło:

If the border needs to be closed, it must be done, nothing is more valuable than security
- Of course, the decision to close the borders is difficult, but if it needs to be made, then perhaps it needs to be made. There must be effective action here, and Germany must see that Poland does not agree to such actions and that we can effectively counter them - Beata Szydło said on RMF FM. - There are diplomatic possibilities, there are possibilities for talks, of course, but one must also set one's conditions, and if the border needs to be closed, it must be done, there is nothing more valuable than security - she continued.

09:00

Czarzasty:

PiS and the Right Say "Shields Up for the Uniforms," Now They Don't Trust the Services and Accuse Them of Lying
- On the one hand, PiS and the right say this: [...] "Shields up for the uniforms. [...] The uniform is the most important thing, the border guard is the most important thing, the army is the most important thing" - said Włodzimierz Czarzasty in Polsat News's "Graffiti". - And then a representative of the border guard comes out and says: "this is untrue [in the context of the situation at the border with Germany]". And they say: "no, you are lying". Either you believe uniformed services, or you don't believe uniformed services - he continued.

09:01

Szydło on the Activities of the Border Defense Movement:

If the Government Acted Effectively, These People Probably Wouldn't Have to Do This.
- If the government acted effectively and decisively, then probably these people who have taken matters into their own hands today wouldn't have to do it. It's a matter of people, seeing the helplessness of those in power, trying to defend their own security - said Beata Szydło on RMF FM, when asked about the organization of the Border Defense Movement's activities. - Yes [like people taking security into their own hands, it does create serious problems], but that is the government's responsibility and it is the Prime Minister's responsibility, because that is precisely what those in power are for, so that such situations do not occur - she continued.

09:02

Sikorski:

We hope the President will fulfill his constitutional role
- We hope that the president [Karol Nawrocki] will fulfill his constitutional role, which is not to conduct foreign policy, I remind you that this is done by the government, Article 146, but to represent the policy established by the government - stated Radosław Sikorski on PR3.

09:04

Sikorski on Manowska's Words:

Doesn't She Understand She Should At Least Pretend to Be Impartial?
We know that [Małgorzata Manowska] is a person from a specific political camp, but doesn't she understand that she should at least pretend to be impartial? I am also surprised by today's opposition, because if on the one hand they say their candidate won convincingly, then it should be in their interest to have a fair resolution of doubts, because in a significant number of commissions there were indeed doubts, so that the new president would have authority – stated Radosław Sikorski on PR3.

09:06

Szydło:

Politicians in Government Focus on Keeping Their Seats Instead of Their Duties
- I cannot understand Donald Tusk's strategy. Does he think that the longer he talks about this reconstruction, the more the coalition will gain? That's not my problem, of course, but I think the biggest problem arising from the chaos in the government right now and the fact that the ruling coalition is so deeply divided, unable to agree, is precisely the lack of decisions - Beata Szydło said on RMF FM. - There are no effective actions at the western border today, why? Well, because politicians working in the government, instead of concentrating on their tasks, are concentrating on who will keep their seat, which of the gentlemen will be the Marshal, and which of the gentlemen might be the Deputy Prime Minister. This is truly unserious - she continued.

09:07

Czarzasty:

I listen to official statements. If President Nawrocki listens to Bąkiewicz, then we have the beginning of a problem
- The state is handling these matters. I spoke yesterday with three voivodes, I listen to the border guard, I listen to official statements. No one will lie, because these lies are verified at the border. After all, there are people there who see it - said Włodzimierz Czarzasty in Polsat News's "Graffiti". - And if President Nawrocki listens to Mr. Bąkiewicz, then we have the beginning of a problem and trouble - he assessed, referring to the words of the president-elect. He continued: - Do you listen to Mr. Bąkiewicz, do you listen to what he says? What does he think about the country, about how the country should be managed? If the president-elect listens to Mr. Bąkiewicz, then this is simply a problem with two people: firstly with the president-elect, secondly with Bąkiewicz.

09:08

Sikorski on Ambassadorial Appointments:

The President-Elect is Putting Me in a Difficult Situation.
- I do not exclude the possibility of a dialogue on all matters related to appointments. This is stipulated by the convention law, and discussions will take place there. However, the President-Elect is putting me in a difficult situation when he says that someone must be recalled because he doesn't like their wife. For political reasons. Because she is a journalist associated with state media. This is not a basis for recalling a candidate for ambassador - stated Radosław Sikorski on PR3.

09:10

Sikorski:

Cenckiewicz's Grandfather Doesn't Bother Today's Opposition
- The father's lineage is also not a basis for my personnel decisions. And Mr. Cenckiewicz's grandfather doesn't bother today's opposition, despite being an UB investigator. This is probably public knowledge - stated Radosław Sikorski on PR3.

09:10

Szydło:

Czarnek is a Very Good Candidate for the Presidential Chancellery. It Doesn't Harm That He Is PiS Vice-Chairman
- A very good candidate, I remember the times when Minister Czarnek led the Ministry of Science and Education and was an excellent minister, he has experience, he was a voivode, he is a lawyer, a constitutionalist, so he would certainly be a great reinforcement for the Presidential Chancellery - Beata Szydło said on RMF FM, when asked if Przemysław Czarnek is a good candidate for the Presidential Chancellery. - It doesn't harm [that he is PiS vice-chairman], it has no significance, for me it is not a problem at all - she continued.

09:17

Sikorski Announces Government Discussion on Border Situation:

I Expect Tough Decisions.
- Today, this will be on the Council of Ministers agenda. I expect tough decisions, but this is a psychosis being generated for political purposes. Please wait until they happen [tough decisions]. I expect such decisions to be made, but this is work for the Border Guard, and if necessary, for the Territorial Defence Force, not for Bąkiewicz's militias – stated Radosław Sikorski on PR3.

09:24

Sikorski:

Nawrocki Will Have Only One Task from Kaczyński
- Yes, I believe he will have [Karol Nawrocki] only that one task from Kaczyński. Overthrowing the government - stated Radosław Sikorski on PR3.

09:34

Czarzasty Announces Coalition Meeting:

Prime Minister to Present Government Structure.
- We are meeting this week and we have agreed that each of us [coalition partners] will come to this meeting… prepared, with a vision and some proposals - said Włodzimierz Czarzasty on Polsat News' "Graffiti." - But, attention, this also stems from the coalition agreement and from common sense – the Prime Minister of the Polish government has the final say in this matter. The Prime Minister of the Polish government is Donald Tusk, the leader of the largest party - emphasized the leader of New Left. - The Prime Minister will present the government structure this week. I hope we will discuss and approve this structure. Once that happens, we will move on to personnel matters next week. Therefore, the Prime Minister's words that this entire process will be completed around July 15th seem reasonable - he indicated.

09:38

Czarzasty:

No Option of Swapping the Prime Minister is on the Table
– Is there an option of swapping the prime minister on the table? – asked Grzegorz Kępka on Polsat News's "Graffiti". – No – replied Włodzimierz Czarzasty.

09:40

Sikorski on Becoming Prime Minister:

Nothing Indicates It
- The Prime Minister gives, and the Prime Minister takes away. Nothing indicates it [that I will become Prime Minister] - stated Radosław Sikorski on PR3.

09:52

Tusk Participates in Briefing on Polish Border Security
- Prime Minister Donald Tusk participated in a briefing concerning the security of Polish borders - the Prime Minister's Chancellery informed on X. - The meeting was attended by: Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of National Defence Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, Minister of Interior and Administration Tomasz Siemoniak, commanders of the Polish Army, and the leadership of the Border Guard and Police - reads the statement.

11:23

Siekierski:

"I received the European Commission's actions with disappointment." Fogiel: "That's how much their flexing of muscles counts, how much they reckon with the Tusk government."
Minister of Agriculture Czesław Siekierski issued a statement regarding the European Commission's information about the conclusion of negotiations with Ukraine on the review of trade conditions. "I received with disappointment the manner in which the European Commission informed the member states about the conclusion of negotiations with Ukraine on the last day of Poland's presidency of the Council of the EU" – reads the document. "As the President-in-Office of the Council of the EU for Agriculture and Fisheries, I have repeatedly pointed out the need for the European Commission to conduct trade negotiations in a more transparent manner and in dialogue with farmers. Meanwhile, the Commission has decided to conclude negotiations without prior consultation with either EU member states or farmer organizations" – emphasized Minister Czesław Siekierski in his statement. Radosław Fogiel from PiS commented on the statement. "That's how much their flexing of muscles counts, how much they reckon with the Tusk government and how toughly we negotiate" – he wrote on X.

11:32

Nawrocki’s Spokesperson Responds to Sikorski:

The Government Has an Obligation to Cooperate with the President. Cohabitation.
- Dear Mr. Minister! We are pleased with your declaration of cooperation with President-elect Karol Nawrocki. Representing Poland in international relations and shaping the foreign policy of the Republic of Poland are constitutional prerogatives of the President, who cooperates with the government in this regard. The government, in turn, has an obligation to cooperate with the President. Cohabitation - wrote Rafał Leśkiewicz, spokesperson for President-elect Karol Nawrocki, on the X portal, responding to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Radosław Sikorski.

12:40

Temporary Border Checks: Tusk Announces Decision
Consideration of the Border Guard's request regarding the necessity of temporarily reintroducing controls on the Polish-German and Polish-Lithuanian borders. At the request of the Border Guard, the Ministry of Interior and Administration is preparing the relevant regulation. We have made a decision and I wanted to inform the public and all ministers that we are reintroducing temporary controls on Poland's borders with Germany and Lithuania. The decision was made today and, for organizational reasons, will come into effect on Monday, July 7th - stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk during a government meeting.

12:46

Tusk:

I warned the German side that Poland's patient stance is running out
- I warned the German side back in March, I also spoke with the new Chancellor of Germany about this several times, informing them that this patient Polish stance, after Germany introduced unilateral border checks, is running out, especially after this practice changed - stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk during a government session.

12:55

Bosak Reacts to Tusk's Decision:

Pressure Makes Sense! We Must Keep an Eye on the Government.
- Pressure makes sense! Following an unprecedented mobilization of Poles at the border with Germany and our parliamentary interventions in Świecko, Zgorzelec, and Szczecin, the Prime Minister has decided to reintroduce border controls. This is the realization of our demand from 2024 - wrote Krzysztof Bosak, referring to Donald Tusk's announcement. As the leader of Konfederacja announced: - Now we will monitor how this announcement is implemented. Controls can be carried out in very different ways, including random or even superficial ones. - The Border Guard lacks personnel, so we absolutely must keep an eye on the government. And we need to obtain complete data from the government on the actual number of immigrants moved from Germany to Poland - he indicated.

12:55

Discusses Bąkiewicz's Actions:

Disgraceful and Scandalous." Tusk Criticizes Politicians and "Future President,

On this occasion, I want to say very clearly: it is disgraceful and scandalous for politicians, including the future president, to insult and distance themselves from state services like the Border Guard, and to take on the role of patron for Mr. Bąkiewicz's right-wing activists who are disrupting the work of the Border Guard, including attacks on Border Guard officers – stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk during a government meeting. - I would expect politicians, regardless of their position, future position, or political views, to always firmly defend, support, and assist the Border Guard, the army, and the police when it comes to matters as important as border security – he continued.

13:37

Supreme Court Chamber Judge to Bodnar: Do You Feel Like a Neo-Senator?
During a session of the Supreme Court's Chamber of Extraordinary Control and Public Affairs concerning the validity of the presidential elections, a verbal clash occurred between Maria Szczepaniec, a judge in the Chamber, and Adam Bodnar, who was present in the hall. - In 2023, you obtained a senatorial mandate in the elections to the Sejm and Senate. I would like to remind you that the validity of those elections was confirmed by our chamber. Therefore, I have a question for you: do you feel like a defectively elected senator, a so-called neo-senator? You did not protest then, I do not recall you protesting - Szczepaniec asked. Bodnar responded to her words. - Madam Judge, I am here in the role of someone defending the election protests submitted by citizens. The last thing I will do is use the kind of words that Madam Judge has used. I believe that such journalistic language should not be uttered in this esteemed hall of the Supreme Court - he said. The judge pressed Bodnar for an answer. - I believe that the significance of the Supreme Court's ruling in the context of parliamentary elections has a purely declarative meaning, unlike these elections, on which the carrying out of further actions, namely the swearing-in of the President of the Republic of Poland, depends - continued the Prosecutor General.

13:54

Błaszczak on Restoring Controls at Poland's Border with Germany:

Too Late and Too Little.
- Today we heard that as of Monday, controls will be restored at the border with Germany. I can say that it is too late and too little - said Mariusz Błaszczak at a press conference. - Too late, because we have been dealing with this crisis for months; too late, because Germany already introduced controls at the border with Poland in October 2023; and too little, because this matter requires far-reaching actions [...] which will, of course, cause dissatisfaction, where? In Germany - he continued.

13:55

Morawiecki on the Government's Decision:

Poles Deserve Effectiveness.
- It takes them a week to close borders. We will establish a ministry to combat illegal immigration within 72 hours. Poles deserve effectiveness! - wrote Mateusz Morawiecki on social media.

14:01

Temporary Ban on Entry for Citizens of Designated Non-EU Countries into Polish Territory. PiS Announces Bill Submission
- A bill on the temporary ban on entry for citizens of third countries into the territory of the Republic of Poland. We will submit such a bill to the Sejm today - said Mariusz Błaszczak at a press conference. - This bill provides [...] authorization for the Council of Ministers to issue a regulation, which will specify particular countries outside the European Union [...] outside of Europe, those countries whose citizens are committing illegal border crossings of the European Union, illegal border crossings of the Polish border - he continued. - Today, Polish border guards do not have a legal basis for an appropriate, firm reaction. After the introduction of this law and after the issuance of the regulation by the Council of Ministers, Polish border guards will be able to deny entry to citizens of these countries onto our territory - he went on to say. - Therefore, those who are today being transferred from Germany by German services or who are attempting to cross from Germany to the Polish side, will not be able to do so. Of course, they will be able to appeal, they will be able to submit appropriate applications, but from the territory of Germany, not from the territory of Poland - he added.

14:04

Błaszczak:

We Will Return to Collecting Signatures for a Referendum on Rejecting the Migration Pact
- We will return to our campaign to collect signatures for a citizen's referendum on rejecting the migration pact, because it is the migration pact that is the source of the problems that await us if the migration pact comes into force. Everything we see on our western border today is just a prelude to what could happen if the migration pact is not rejected - said Mariusz Błaszczak at a press conference.

14:15

Touring the Border, Inspecting the Border Guard, and Supporting "Persecuted" Members of the Border Defense Movement. Błaszczak Announces PiS Actions
- Starting tomorrow, we will begin touring the border with Germany. Leaders of our political movement, leaders of Law and Justice, will be conducting checks at Border Guard units to find out what orders Border Guard officers have, because we stand united behind the Polish uniform, but we are perfectly aware that it is Donald Tusk, it is his government that is responsible for the migration crisis - said Mariusz Błaszczak at a press conference. - We will also inform the public about the answers we receive and we will also support the Border Defense Movement, and thus Polish patriots, people who, when Donald Tusk's government abdicated, took matters into their own hands, who are defending the security of our homeland. We will provide support to all those who are persecuted by the current authorities of our country, we will support them - he continued.

14:29

Błaszczak:

Pressure from the Ruling Party on Supreme Court Judges is Completely Unacceptable
- The Supreme Court, the Chamber of Extraordinary Control and Public Affairs, will decide on the validity of the elections - Mariusz Błaszczak stated at a press conference. - It is completely unacceptable for political pressure to be exerted on Supreme Court judges by those currently in power. This is inadmissible; it does not fit within any framework or standards of a democratic state - he continued.

14:32

Błaszczak:

More Giertych in Media Would Be Good for Poland
- The more Giertych is in the media, the more support for the December 13 coalition will fall. We are already seeing this in the polls - said Mariusz Błaszczak at a press conference. - The more Giertych is in the media, the better it will be for Poland, because support for Donald Tusk and his government will decline - he continued.

16:08

Head of the National Electoral Commission: No electoral law violations found that could have influenced voting and election results
- No electoral law violations were found that could have influenced the voting and election results - stated Sylwester Marciniak during a session of the Extraordinary Control and Public Affairs Chamber of the Supreme Court. - Solely on behalf of the National Electoral Commission (PKW) can I express apologies and regret that, unfortunately, not all members of the polling station election commissions rose to the occasion, but I hope this stems from their carelessness rather than organized actions - he stated.

16:21

Bodnar:

Regarding the precise determination of votes cast for each candidate, we now know that the result is not precise.
- I am raising objections concerning the fact that - as we now know, also from inspections carried out in courts - irregularities occurred in over a dozen polling stations. Based on various conclusions and also the positions presented, these irregularities might have occurred in more than just these dozen or so commissions. I lament that the votes in these commissions were not recounted - said Adam Bodnar during the session of the Extraordinary Control and Public Affairs Chamber of the Supreme Court. - At the same time, I believe that regarding the election results indicated by the National Electoral Commission (PKW) and the very precise determination of how many votes were cast for each candidate, I think we now know that this result is not precise - he continued. - The role of this proceeding is not just a simple thumbs up or down, like Caesar's, but it is also about conducting proceedings so that citizens have a sense and certainty that their votes were counted properly - he indicated.

16:26

Szłapka on the Details of Reintroducing Border Controls:

We Will Not Accept Any Migrants from Germany.
- A decision has been made to reintroduce temporary control on the border with Germany and with Lithuania [...]. This stems from three basic factors. Firstly, due to the fact that our eastern border with Belarus has been very strongly secured [...] a new migration route has emerged, and there is a very high pressure on the Belarusian-Latvian, Belarusian-Lithuanian borders. Hence, a new migration route has appeared from Lithuania, thus the decision to temporarily introduce controls on the border with Lithuania - said Adam Szłapka at a press conference. - This decision also stems from a change in the German government's practice regarding its approach to decisions made 10 years ago and the acceptance of asylum applications, which results in them not accepting all migrants who are simply going to Germany and turning them back, as well as the decision that they will extend the decision they have made, for now, until September - he continued. "The Border Guard is preparing full infrastructure" - Control on the border will be introduced from July 7th. Over these few days, the Border Guard is preparing the full infrastructure in this regard. Additional patrols and support from the Military Gendarmerie, from the Territorial Defence Force, and of course, additional police patrols will also be introduced - he went on to say. - We all want this decision, which of course has consequences that are an inconvenience for citizens, to be as minimal as possible, and we will seek solutions together with the Border Guard so that these decisions are as least felt by citizens as possible, but in a way that unequivocally increases citizen safety - he added. "We will not accept any migrants from Germany" - So, we will simply not accept any migrants from Germany, and the same applies to the border with Lithuania - he emphasized. - There is a part that is based on specific international agreements, but as I said, this is a significant decrease compared to previous years. We are talking about the readmission agreement [...] there are significantly fewer such procedures, there has been a significant decrease, because we have secured the border with Belarus - said the government spokesperson, when asked about the significance of the words about not accepting any migrants. - All these things related to international cooperation are, of course, functioning - he added.

16:31

Endometriosis Treatment Under Public Healthcare and Commencement of Widow's Pension Payments: Szłapka on Programs Effective July 1st
- From July 1st, in accordance with the ordinance of the Minister of Health, Izabela Leszczyna, all women struggling with endometriosis can count on free, comprehensive, and specialized care, starting from the very beginning, from diagnostics, through to complex medical procedures - said Adam Szłapka at a press conference. - The second matter [...] from today, widow's pension payments are commencing; over a million applications, and from today these payments are starting - he continued.

16:34

Szłapka:

17 Deregulation Projects Discussed at Government Meeting
- Today, 17 deregulation projects were discussed, and this means that after today's government meeting, 127 postulates prepared together with the social side have already passed through the Council of Ministers. Considering this entire number, we are already at 236 proposals for amendments, included in 64 government projects. So, we are working very actively on deregulation - said Adam Szłapka at a press conference.

16:38

Szłapka:

Bill Introducing Fines for Illegal Racing and Stricter Penalties for Road Hogs to Go to Parliament
- A bill concerning the improvement of road traffic safety, prepared by the Ministry of Justice. The new regulations provide for penalties for individuals participating in illegal races or rallies and tighten penalties for road hogs, these are also regulations that many people have been waiting for [...] such a bill adopted by the Council of Ministers will go to the Sejm - said Adam Szłapka at a press conference.

16:41

Szłapka on the wind power act:

I hope the current president will sign it yet.
- We have prepared, and it will now await the president's signature, the so-called wind power act, but primarily about renewable energy, in which one of the provisions of this act is the extension of the energy price freeze - said Adam Szłapka at a press conference.

16:45

Bodnar Before the Supreme Court's Control Chamber:

I am here representing the interests of citizens, but I maintain that this chamber is not appropriate.
- I am here representing the interests of citizens who have filed election protests and have no other chamber, no other place that could examine their election protests – hence my presence – said Adam Bodnar during a session of the Supreme Court's Extraordinary Control and Public Affairs Chamber.

- At the same time, I maintain that the Supreme Court's Extraordinary Control and Public Affairs Chamber is not the appropriate chamber to hear this matter and rule on the validity of the elections – he indicated.

Szłapka Critiques Bąkiewicz and the Border Defense Movement:

Border Guards Are Being Insulted, and People Are Impersonating Them.
- The briefing with the Border Guard was clear. These actions, we are talking here about Mr. Bąkiewicz and groups like his, they certainly do not increase security on the Polish-German border, but rather hinder the activities of officers, and officers of the Border Guard report this very unambiguously and clearly - Adam Szłapka said at a press conference. - They are carrying out their duties, and these duties are being made difficult. Situations arise where people impersonate officers, which is also against the law, and officers are being insulted - he continued.

16:55

Szłapka:

Everyone Who Disgraces the Polish Uniform and Obstructs Duties Must Face Consequences
- To all those who truly think seriously about Polish security, I remind you of the slogan 'shoulder to shoulder with the Polish uniform.' Today, there is nothing more important than a clear thank you and standing by the side of the Border Guard, but also the Military Gendarmerie, the Police, and the Territorial Defence Forces - said Adam Szłapka at a press conference.

- All those who disgrace the Polish uniform, obstruct duties, or impersonate officers, for example, by unlawfully checking Polish citizens entering or leaving Poland, must be prepared for consequences - he continued.

President of the Supreme Court's Chamber of Extraordinary Control: The sheer number of protests filed does not increase the weight of identical allegations contained within them
- The Supreme Court, and this must be clearly emphasized, upon reviewing each protest filed, notes that the mere number of protests submitted does not increase the weight of identical allegations contained within them, if these allegations are substantively the same and do not concern the specific, actual interest of the protest's filer – stated Krzysztof Wiak, President of the Chamber of Extraordinary Control and Public Affairs. - In such a case, the economies of scale are irrelevant from the perspective of the assessment made by the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court already stated similarly in 1995, indicating that elections cannot be evaluated based on the number of protests filed – he continued.

Chamber of Extraordinary Review of the Supreme Court: Chairman of the National Electoral Commission Modified Previous Stance. Incidents Could Not Have Affected Election Results
- The National Electoral Commission (PKW), based on the documents in its possession and information obtained about the course of voting and elections [...] stated that during the voting, particularly on the day of the repeat vote, there were incidents that could have influenced the outcome of the vote. The PKW left it to the Supreme Court (SN) to assess their impact on the result of the presidential election - said Krzysztof Wiak, President of the Chamber of Extraordinary Review and Public Affairs. - During today's Supreme Court session concerning the validation of the presidential election, the chairman of the PKW modified this stance and indicated that, in connection with the results of evidentiary proceedings conducted during the examination of election protests by the SN, the aforementioned incidents could not have influenced the election results - he continued.

Supreme Court Chamber of Oversight: Electoral Code Does Not Provide for Recount in All Polling Stations
- The Supreme Court indicates that requests for a recount of votes in all district electoral commissions in Poland, raised in electoral protests, could not be considered. The provisions of the Electoral Code do not provide for such a possibility, said the President of the Chamber of Extraordinary Control and Public Affairs, Krzysztof Wiak. - It is possible to inspect ballot papers, but exclusively in relation to specific district electoral commissions, if it is shown that irregularities occurred during the vote counting or the preparation of the voting protocol, he continued. - Making such a decision solely based on the reported probability of irregularities or statistical analysis has no justification and would be contrary to the law, he pointed out.

Supreme Court Chamber of Extraordinary Control: The Totality of Circumstances Clearly Indicates Nawrocki Received More Votes Than Trzaskowski
- In connection with the position of the Prosecutor General expressed during today's session, that the exact number of votes cast for individual candidates is unknown, the Supreme Court clarifies the following - said the President of the Chamber of Extraordinary Control and Public Affairs, Krzysztof Wiak. - The fact that every voter's vote is equally important - and all efforts must be made to attribute it to the candidate for whom it was actually cast - must be assessed in light of Article 127, paragraph 6 of the Constitution - and this provision states: "the candidate who receives more votes in a repeat ballot shall be elected President of the Republic of Poland" - he quoted. - Therefore, for the resolution of the matter concerning the validity of the presidential election, it is essential to determine which of the candidates obtained more votes in the repeat ballot - and the totality of circumstances clearly indicates that Karol Tadeusz Nawrocki received more votes than Rafał Kazimierz Trzaskowski in the repeat ballot - he emphasized.

Siemoniak on How Border Checks Will Look:

Polish Tourists Have Nothing to Fear.
- The Border Guard has received an order from the Prime Minister to conduct this in a way that minimizes disruption to traffic [...] vehicles suspected of potentially carrying illegal migrants will be inspected - said Tomasz Siemoniak on TVN24's "Fakty po Faktach," when asked about what border checks would entail. - I believe that Polish citizens, tourists traveling in that direction, have nothing to fear, and at most, there might be a slight slowdown in traffic. The Border Guard will not be checking these tourists in any way; they will be inspecting vehicles that arouse suspicion, vans, windowless vans, and of course, buses will have to be inspected - he continued.

Have Mercy. If You Must, Come to the Ministry. Siemoniak Appeals to PiS Politicians
- I'm reading that PiS MPs are planning some wave of visits to Border Guard posts in the west [of Poland] tomorrow. For heaven's sake, let the Border Guard do their work - said Tomasz Siemoniak on TVN24. - Today, the Border Guard is preparing for a major operation, focusing on implementing these controls. If you must, come to the ministry, come to the main headquarters, you will get all the information. Don't paralyze their work - he continued. - Let them come to the border, but not to the posts these days. There are always parliamentary oversight visits, we have nothing to hide here. However, playing politics with the Border Guard at this moment, instead of supporting it, is inappropriate - he added, when asked if he was appealing for opposition MPs not to come to the border. - We have all the data in Warsaw, we invite you, inspect, find out, criticize us, but such an avalanche of MPs at Border Guard posts truly complicates life - he added.

20:11

Siemoniak Harshly on the Actions of the Border Defence Movement:

Such Dainty Boxers, There's No Other Way to Describe Them.
- This is absolutely scandalous, people who outwardly present themselves as patriots, defenders of the uniform, are attacking officers, a specific female Border Guard officer, such dainty boxers, there's no other way to describe them - said Tomasz Siemoniak on TVN24, when asked about the actions of the Border Defence Movement, accosting and attempting to influence the behaviour of border guards. "I Count on the Prosecutor's Office to Deal with This Very Firmly" - All these matters have been forwarded to the prosecutor's office. It concerns insulting officers, impersonating officers, and obstructing officers' duties. So I count on it, I have already discussed it with Minister Bodnar, the Prosecutor General, that the prosecutor's office will deal with this very firmly, because it is absolutely scandalous - continued the Minister of the Interior and Administration. - We are not forbidding anyone from demonstrating their views at the border. However, what happened there in the face of the demonstrators' disappointment that there were no migrants in significant numbers for them to do something to, they started attacking officers, and videos of insulting police officers circulated - he continued. "They Wanted to Provoke Incidents" - They wanted to provoke incidents. They clearly behaved in a way that would make the police or guards react kinetically, so that they could say "here you go, the bad Tusk government is beating up the real defenders of the border." This is a scandalous, political action, and I am very surprised by these politicians who are trying to justify it - Siemoniak added.

20:12

Wiącek:

No Provision Allows for Recount of All Votes
- There is a possibility to open containers with ballots, to inspect election ballots within the appropriate procedures, in the procedure of reviewing an election protest. However, indeed, in the legal provisions, there is no provision that provides a basis for the recount of all votes and, for example, for the annulment of the National Electoral Commission's resolution confirming the [presidential] election results - stated the Commissioner for Human Rights, Marcin Wiącek, in an interview with Bogdan Rymanowski on Polsat News's "Gość Wydarzeń." - There is a possibility of inspecting ballots [...] also in procedures within criminal proceedings initiated by the prosecutor's office. However, there is no legal provision that would authorize the issuance of a ruling ordering the recount of all votes. This would have to involve doubts in all 32,000 precinct commissions - he indicated.

20:17

Siemoniak:

Do you want to defend the borders? The Border Guard has positions. You can do it in a Polish uniform, not attack it.
- Do you want to defend the borders? The Border Guard has 1500 new positions, these are our decisions from recent months. We invite you, you meet the criteria, you can defend the border in a uniform, in a Polish uniform, not attack that Polish uniform - said Tomasz Siemoniak on TVN24.

20:17

Wiącek:

The National Assembly Should Be Convened
- According to the law, the National Assembly should convene on the last day of the president's term of office, which is August 6. There are no circumstances at the moment that would preclude the possibility of the newly elected president taking the oath, nor that would authorize not convening such a National Assembly - said the Commissioner for Human Rights, Marcin Wiącek, on "Gość Wydarzeń" (Guest of Events) on Polsat News. - No ruling or situation has emerged in the legal sphere that would enable the National Assembly not to be convened. Therefore, it should take place - he stated.

IPN Met with NATO Secretary General:

A Very Good Conversation About Serious Matters in a Cordial Atmosphere.
- Responding to an invitation, I met today in Brussels with the Secretary General of the North Atlantic Alliance, Mark Rutte. We discussed cooperation within NATO - wrote Karol Nawrocki on social media. - Security guarantees and mutual understanding of needs are the foundation of strong and responsible international relations. Thank you for a very good conversation about serious matters in a cordial atmosphere - wrote the president-elect.

Hołownia confirms decision on National Assembly:

There is no doubt who Poles elected.
- There are doubts regarding the status of the Extraordinary Control Chamber of the Supreme Court. There is no doubt who Poles elected. That is why on August 6th, I will convene the National Assembly and administer the presidential oath to Karol Nawrocki - wrote Szymon Hołownia on social media. - Every case of irregularities in the commissions must be thoroughly investigated by the prosecutor's office. And we must end this astonishing period where the most fervent opponents of PiS spoke in pure PiS language ("Madam Speaker, it must be annulled because we will lose!"). And get back to work - emphasized the Marshal of the Sejm.
