Wednesday's Political Agenda: National Security Council with Nawrocki, Kosiniak-Kamysz Meets UK Deputy Defence Minister
At 9:00 AM, a press conference is scheduled with Paulina Hennig-Kloska at the Ministry of Climate and Environment. The Minister is expected to comment before the National Security Council meeting on, among other things, energy security. Statements will also be made regarding the summary of the EU Council for Transport, Telecommunications and Energy, and the resolution of funding applications from the National Recovery and Resilience Plan for energy communities. Also at 9:00 AM, but at the Royal Palace Museum of King Jan III Sobieski in Wilanów, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defence Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, along with Vernon Coaker, the UK Deputy Minister of Defence, will participate in a ceremony to rehabilitate and honor Brigadier General Stanisław Sosabowski and the 1st Independent Parachute Brigade by the Government of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. The Minister of National Defence is scheduled to give a speech. At 10:00 AM, a press briefing is planned with the Minister of Infrastructure, Dariusz Klimczak, concerning the opening of the S7 express road, the Tricity Bypass, on the Chwaszczyno-Żukowo section. Also at 10:00 AM, Michał Kołodziejczak will hold a press conference in the courtyard of the Ministry of Agriculture. "In the Ministry of Agriculture, bureaucracy is the sole hegemon, and the lack of vision and plan no longer surprises anyone," wrote the Deputy Head of the Ministry on X. At 11:00 AM, a National Security Council meeting will take place at the Presidential Palace. The session is to address the state's energy security and Poland's priorities for the NATO Summit in The Hague, and will also be attended by President-elect Karol Nawrocki. President Andrzej Duda is scheduled to give an opening address to the National Security Council, and a press conference will be held after the deliberations conclude. At 11:30 AM, Roman Giertych has scheduled a press conference at his law office. The topics will include the legal consequences of the National Electoral Commission's resolution and the issue of "tapes." At 12:00 PM, a press conference will begin at the Port of Gdynia with the participation of the Minister of Infrastructure, Dariusz Klimczak, and the Deputy Minister of Infrastructure, Arkadiusz Marchewka, regarding the situation surrounding the vessel "Khatanga." At 1:00 PM, a press briefing will be held at Panoptikum – the competency center for museums in Lesznowola, with the participation of, among others, the Minister of Culture and National Heritage, Hanna Wróblewska. The topic is the completion of the first stage of construction of Panoptikum, a modern space for storing, conserving, and digitizing works of art.

Kosiniak-Kamysz:

The Third Way is a successful project. If not for our alliance, we wouldn't have removed PiS from power
- The Third Way won the elections in 2023. If not for our alliance, we wouldn't have removed PiS from power, and that's why it's a successful project - said Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz on „Gość Radia ZET”.

08:15

Kosiniak-Kamysz on the Third Way:

We've Been Talking with Hołownia for a Long Time About How to Conclude This. It Was Supposed to Be Slightly Different.
- Yesterday, at the [PSL] National Council, we summarized the series of elections we agreed upon. Because the Third Way was an electoral project; we have had separate clubs in parliament from the very beginning. It is not one party organism, but two different groupings - Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz said on “Gość Radia ZET”. - We have been talking about this with Szymon Hołownia for a long time about how to conclude this. It was supposed to be slightly different, to be honest. We had a discussion yesterday, and on [June] 28th, Poland 2050 will have a discussion at its National Congress. After that, we were supposed to come out together and say that this stage is closed - he stated. - But of course, when there are 100-150 people in the room, it's hard to maintain everything in complete sterility - he added.

08:20

Kosiniak-Kamysz Confirms the End of the Third Way:

We Agreed on 4 Elections, and That's Behind Us.
- There's no decision to be made here. [The Third Way] was a project for the elections. It was a coalition tied to a joint electoral start. We agreed on 4 elections, and that's behind us. It has reached its finale – said Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz in "Gość Radia ZET". - We will cooperate in the Sejm. I have the best opinion of Szymon Hołownia, I like him very much, I value him highly. I will always cooperate with him if it is only possible. We will be in one government coalition and one parliament – he indicated.

08:23

Kosiniak-Kamysz on the End of the Third Way:

PSL Prepares for Solo Run.
- Yes, this stems from yesterday's discussion [at the PSL National Council]. We are preparing for a solo run. We are determined after many years when it was very difficult for us, after the attacks that were aimed at us, we have our potential, our strength, the values we defend - said Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz on "Gość Radia ZET". - I don't know how Poland 2050 will run. That is their task and the question for them. I know that the PSL is the only formation in 35 years of democracy that has its stable place on the political scene - he continued.

08:37

Zandberg:

PO's Strongest Candidate Lost to PiS's Likely Weakest. People Are Disappointed with PO's Rule and Its Minor Allies
- What is very clearly visible in my opinion is that the best, strongest candidate that Civic Platform could put forward in these elections lost to probably the weakest, or one of the weakest candidates that PiS could put forward - said Adrian Zandberg in the RMF FM 'Morning Conversation'. - I don't think that [putting forward Radosław Sikorski] made any qualitative difference, because what is evident in the election results is that people are very disappointed with how, for 1.5 years, Platforma and its minor allies have been governing Poland - he continued.

08:38

Kosiniak-Kamysz:

If there is any group blocking government projects, it is Ms. Biejat's group
- It is the constitutional duty of every minister to participate in the legislative process. Ministers from the Left also participate. What's more, they often even submit dissenting opinions from the government - said Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz on "Gość Radia ZET". - They do not vote for safe border projects, they do not vote for Polish soldiers and their right to use weapons, they do not vote for restricting the right to asylum, meaning for stopping illegal migration. They submit dissenting opinions on this matter and vote differently in parliament - he listed. - So, if there is any group blocking government projects, it is precisely Ms. Biejat's group - he stated.

08:46

Kosiniak-Kamysz:

Do the words 'dialogue,' 'respect,' 'tolerance,' and listening to others' voices hold any meaning for the Left? Or is it just a case of 'what's in it for them'?
- We are submitting comments during the legislative process, we are open to discussion, but we want to clarify constitutional doubts [regarding the introduction of out-of-court divorces]. I am talking about Article 18, which speaks of support, protection of the family, marriage, motherhood, and parenthood - said Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz on "Gość Radia ZET". - All doubts must be clarified. Surely, for the Left, the words 'dialogue,' 'respect,' 'tolerance,' and listening to the voices of others, even when we disagree with them, hold some meaning, or is it only when it concerns them? Because if someone has a different opinion, then what, they are not allowed to voice it? - he asked.

08:50

Kosiniak-Kamysz:

Frustration likely stems from Braun receiving more female votes than Biejat
- It's about demographics, fertility rates [in the context of introducing out-of-court divorce options - ed.]. We won the elections so that there wouldn't be authoritarianism, like under PiS, but rather discussion and dialogue - stated Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz on 'Gość Radia ZET'. - I understand the frustration, as it likely stems from Grzegorz Braun receiving more female votes than Ms. Biejat. These TikTok jabs probably result from that - he said.

08:53

Zandberg:

We are not doomed to a government with Czarniek as Prime Minister or Mentzen as Finance Minister
- We are not doomed to a government with Czarniek as Prime Minister or a government with Mentzen as Finance Minister. We are not doomed, however, it will depend to a large extent [...] on how much Razem manages to mobilize opposition voters – said Adrian Zandberg in RMF FM. - As for the parties currently in power, these parties have approximately zero capacity to appeal to voters who dislike this government – he continued.

08:55

Kosiniak-Kamysz:

It wasn't left-wing worldview issues that decided the election outcome, but the removal of crosses
- There is also an issue that has raised some blood pressure, and Ms. Biejat and her colleagues might not like it, when I talk about the matter of crosses, the removal of crosses, which influenced the outcome of the election campaign - said Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz on "Gość Radia ZET". In his opinion: - It wasn't worldview issues, specifically left-wing ones, that decided this outcome, but rather the removal of crosses that determined the result. - And this is not about defending the Church, a bishop, or a priest, because Poles often have a negative attitude towards them. This is about fundamental national values, history, tradition, our culture, which are inextricably linked with Christianity - he emphasized.

08:57

Schetyna:

There's a sense of defeat regarding Trzaskowski's electoral loss within the coalition
- There is a sense of defeat concerning Rafał Trzaskowski's electoral loss, whom the entire democratic coalition supported – stated Grzegorz Schetyna during the program "Rozmowa Piaseckiego" on TVN24. - [We need to] write a good scenario for the next two years. Fulfill the prime minister's electoral commitments and promises, but it will be him who does it, meaning a firm, consistent government reconstruction, a reduction in the government's size, the setting of new goals to be achieved within two years, and the building of a political vision for the parliamentary elections – he continued.

08:58

Schetyna on the Coalition Agreement:

It Needs to Be Reconstructed, Its Goals Stated.
- I am primarily thinking about returning to the coalition agreement, laying it out, reconstructing the coalition agreement, what we agreed upon 2 years ago. A coalition is always much wiser halfway through its term, after 2 years of functioning. We know what can be done, we know what cannot be done, so it simply needs to be refreshed, its goals stated – stated Grzegorz Schetyna on TVN24.

08:59

"Conditional First Apartment, Tax-Free Amount": Schetyna on Pillars of New Coalition Agreement
- A situation like the conditional first apartment is one of the most important things and can be a pillar of the democratic coalition agreement 2.0. That is, at this stage, 2025-2027. The tax-free amount is the same, it will also be one of the pillars of the agreement or its absence – said Grzegorz Schetyna on TVN24.

09:01

Will Tusk Be Prime Minister Until 2027? Schetyna: It All Depends on the Government's Reconstruction
- First and foremost, we need to build a great deal and engage very strongly to ensure that PO, Civic Coalition does not find itself in the situation of PiS in 2023, meaning without coalition possibilities, without a coalition partner who gets into parliament with a significant result and with whom a governing coalition can be built – said Grzegorz Schetyna on TVN24. - I think it all depends on how the government is reconstructed, how we go through this reconstruction, and how we show Poles that we are ready to take on new challenges [whether Donald Tusk will be prime minister until 2027] – he added.

09:02

Schetyna on the Collapse of the Third Way:

It Never Helps in Building an Effective Political Construct.
- It never helps in building such a broader, politically effective construct [the collapse of the Third Way], I'm saying this because it's a very important project that brought victory to the democratic coalition in 2023 – stated Grzegorz Schetyna on TVN24.

09:04

Kosiniak-Kamysz:

Recounting all votes? It makes no sense
- Recounting all votes, makes sense or not? - Bogdan Rymanowski asked on "Gość Radia ZET". - It makes no sense - replied Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz.

09:15

Kosiniak-Kamysz on Radio ZET poll:

If 20% vote for PSL, it will be a great result
- If you had asked this question the day after the parliamentary elections, it would have been the other way around. The moment something ends is probably not a moment for positive reactions. But if 20% of people vote for PSL, it will be a great result - said Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz on „Gość Radia ZET”. The leader of PSL referred to the Radio ZET poll, which asked whether the Third Way is a successful political project. 20% stated that it is, while 80% of listeners said it is not. - Let's be serious. Do you see the latest polls? They show something. The best poll was Szymon Hołownia's result in the elections. He got 5% - commented Bogdan Rymanowski. - Completely not. In the case of PSL, it means absolutely nothing [it doesn't indicate anything]. How much did we get in the presidential elections as PSL? And how much did we get later in the parliamentary elections? This is [5% for Hołownia], to be honest, the best result for PSL in 25 years - replied the leader of the Peasants' Party.

09:39

Kosiniak-Kamysz Responds to Morawiecki’s Offer:

Let Them First See What Needs Fixing Within Their Own Ranks.
- I am very pleased that various political circles appreciate the Polish People's Party (PSL) and me as a leader. I think PiS has not yet learned the lesson the voters taught them in 2023; they haven't come to terms with behaviors like Mr. Matecki's, Mejza's, and other matters. They haven't distanced themselves from these actions - said Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz on “Gość Radia ZET,” responding to the renewed offer from Mateusz Morawiecki. When asked if he would consider a coalition with PiS, once they distance themselves from such behaviors, Kosiniak-Kamysz replied: - Let them first see what needs fixing within their own ranks, and then they can concern themselves with others.

09:50

Kosiniak-Kamysz on Cooperation with Nawrocki:

We Should Propose a Constitutional Reset
- We want to solve issues that seem unsolvable and have been debated for decades. Some have very radical views – they won’t pass, neither from the right nor from the left in this parliament. If they were from the left, they certainly wouldn’t be accepted by the current and future president - Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz said on “Gość Radia ZET”. - But those that make life easier can pass: the status of the closest person, a return to the principles of the abortion compromise. I believe that in the justice system, we should propose a constitutional reset to President Nawrocki. I am speaking on behalf of PSL - he continued. - We won't fix the justice system without fixing the Constitutional Tribunal. I would like the president to initiate a discussion about a constitutional reset. It must be a broader proposal. I believe that yes [I am able to reach an agreement with Prime Minister Tusk], that we are able to reach an understanding - he stated.

09:52

Kosiniak-Kamysz on Returning to the Abortion Compromise:

It Would Be Difficult for President Nawrocki to Veto This Law.
- Returning to the principles from before the Constitutional Tribunal's ruling [to the so-called abortion compromise] would certainly improve the current situation. […] In my opinion, it would be difficult for President Nawrocki to veto this law. If he were to veto it, he would stand with a very extreme wing - said Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz on “Gość Radia ZET”.

10:32

Kołodziejczak Resigns from the Ministry of Agriculture:

I Said So Weeks Ago, Now is a Good Time.
- I have accomplished everything I discussed numerous times with Prime Minister Donald Tusk, who told me to help Minister Siekierski here. I helped as best I could, I gave as many pieces of advice as I could - Michał Kołodziejczak said at a press conference. - I said that I wanted to leave the ministry a few weeks ago, and now is a good time after the presidential elections, after the vote of confidence for the government was passed. I didn't want my decision to cause any confusion or embarrassment in these matters - he continued. - Time is running out. Decisions must be made quickly, decisions must be made in the right way [...] I told Minister Siekierski directly: Mr. Minister, you can always count on my help - he added.

10:34

"These Aren't Positions for Political Appointees." Kołodziejczak Critiques PSL's "Filling of Roles in Agricultural Institutions"
- Here, perhaps much more so in the work of Minister Siekierski himself, there is too much influence from the limitations imposed by the Polish People's Party (PSL), individuals who are often focused on filling various positions, of which there are thousands in Poland's agricultural institutions. These are not positions for political appointees; these are positions for specialists. In my opinion, some have forgotten this. It's time to strongly admit our mistakes - said Michał Kołodziejczak at a press conference.

10:41

Kołodziejczak After Deciding to Leave the Ministry of Agriculture:

I Don't Want to Talk About Everything That Happened Here, I Hope I Won't Have To.
- Unfortunately, many of my projects here were bombarded from various sides, which made it impossible to implement them. That is why today, from a different position, I will try to do it, I will try to build the strength of Polish agriculture – said Michał Kołodziejczak at a press conference. - I don't want to talk today about everything that happened here, I hope I won't have to talk about it. It's also hard to work with directors who tend to work with the main minister, and overlook their deputy ministers – he continued.

11:36

Evacuation of Poles from Israel. Ministry of Foreign Affairs: First plane landed in Warsaw, another flight tomorrow
- I am pleased to confirm that the first plane with a group of evacuated Poles, as well as citizens of other EU countries and those friendly to us, landed this morning in Warsaw at Okęcie Airport. This was the group that decided to travel through the territory of Egypt - said Henryka Mościcka-Dendys at a press conference. - Tomorrow another plane will fly, and this plane will fly from Amman. […] The group already knows that they can expect departure tomorrow. It will be 65 people, and this time they are only Polish citizens - informed the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs.

11:38

Duda During the National Security Council Meeting:

We Will Address Two Obvious Issues.
- Today we will address two issues, which are in a sense obvious, but also previously announced. Firstly, the upcoming NATO summit in The Hague, which will take place next week [...] and the second topic is the issue of state energy security, particularly triggered by the energy crisis, the blackout that occurred in Spain in April - said President Andrzej Duda in his opening remarks at the National Security Council meeting.

11:42

Duda on Nawrocki's Presence at the National Security Council:

I Deemed it Obvious.
- I took the liberty of inviting the President-elect to today's National Security Council for obvious reasons. The President-elect has never before participated in our meetings, in the National Security Council - said President Andrzej Duda in his opening remarks at the National Security Council. - I considered it obvious that at this moment, as the one who will assume responsibility for state affairs in 6 weeks and take this seat of the President of the Republic [...] he should already be present, given that the issues are largely future-oriented - he continued.

11:50

Duda:

I Will Uphold Support for Ukraine's NATO Membership
- The first matter I mentioned earlier [...] the upcoming summit in The Hague - President Andrzej Duda said in his opening remarks at the National Security Council. - We will certainly talk about the ongoing Russian aggression against Ukraine and the issue of Ukraine in general, and from our perspective, this is very important. I can tell you in advance that here I will uphold support for Ukraine when it comes to membership in the North Atlantic Alliance and, in general, Ukraine's aspiration to be as closely tied to the Western community as possible - he continued. - I believe that our geostrategic task is to do everything possible so that as many countries as possible between us and [...] Russia [...] are countries tied to the Western community. I would like, of course, for the same to happen with Belarus one day - he went on to say.

12:05

Duda on a Minimum of 3.5% of GDP for Defence and an Additional 1.5% for Building Security:

For Us, It's Not a Problem, We Support It.
- There is a very important issue that will certainly be raised [at the NATO summit], the issue of defence spending. As you know, I sent a letter to the NATO Secretary General on this matter at the beginning of this year, proposing that all alliance states decide to increase defence spending to a minimum of 3% of their GDP - said President Andrzej Duda in a statement at the start of the National Security Council. - The Secretary General's proposal goes further; he believes it should be 3.5% directly for defence and an additional 1.5% for broadly understood issues related to building the state's security system [...] I personally agree with this proposal. I think it's not a problem for us in Poland, because we are already spending almost 5% of our GDP on defence at the moment, so of course, we support this proposal - he continued. - A very important issue for us here will certainly be [...] maintaining unity - he added.

12:09

Duda:

I Have No Information About Plans to Reduce U.S. Military Presence in Poland
- If there is a discussion, and there likely will be, regarding any potential withdrawal or reduction of the American presence in Europe, we are certainly not in favour of limiting this American presence; we believe it should be maintained - said President Andrzej Duda in a statement kicking off a National Security Council meeting. - I have no information [...] from any representatives of the American authorities that such plans concern the American military presence in Poland, both infrastructural and concerning American soldiers; we have no such information, quite the contrary - he continued.

12:17

Duda at the National Security Council: I would like us to discuss the nuclear power plant. There are already three years of delay compared to the original assumptions
- I would like us to discuss the state of our first nuclear investment, which is the construction of the nuclear power plant that we are currently implementing. I know that according to the latest program update, the first block is to be launched in 2036, which is already a three-year delay compared to the original assumptions – said President Andrzej Duda in his opening remarks at the National Security Council. - This is indeed a very serious matter, and the issue of ensuring that we complete this investment on time and implement it on schedule is of fundamental importance also from the perspective of ordering individual components that are necessary for its realization – he continued.

12:20

Duda:

I hope a signal will reach citizens that we have consensus on security matters
- I hope that within the framework of this, including our meeting today, another strong signal will reach our society, our compatriots, that we have consensus here when it comes to security issues – said President Andrzej Duda in his opening remarks for the National Security Council meeting.

14:47

Nawrocki Will Oversee the Development of the Polish Army and Our Security, Only Tusk Looked Grim." Błaszczak on the National Security Council Meeting
"Following the National Security Council meeting with the participation of President Andrzej Duda and President-elect Karol Nawrocki, the conclusion is clear: Karol Nawrocki will ensure the development of the Polish Army and our security. Command of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Poland is in good hands. Only Donald Tusk looked grim..." — wrote Mariusz Błaszczak on X.

14:56

Duda on Inviting the President-Elect to the National Security Council:

It’s a Certain Precedent, but I Hope It Becomes a Tradition.
- I invited additionally – for the first time, which is a certain precedent, but we expressed the opinion that we hope it will be established as a tradition for the future as well – President-Elect Karol Nawrocki to participate as a guest of the National Security Council, precisely to help the new president, who will take office in 6 weeks […], to integrate - said President Andrzej Duda after the National Security Council meeting. - So that he can already build his knowledge on issues that are currently among the most important from the perspective of the Republic of Poland's security, participate in discussions, and listen to these voices. […] I hope it was an important experience for the President-Elect, which will help him assume the duties of the head of state more effectively and efficiently - he stated.

15:08

Duda:

Today on the Political Scene, the Stance on Ukraine is Unambiguous – We Support Its Euro-Atlantic Aspirations
- We spoke about our position regarding Ukraine. Today, on the Polish political scene, this stance is unambiguous – we support Ukraine's Euro-Atlantic aspirations, we are absolutely not backing down from this. Both the government and myself are speaking with one voice on this matter - said President Andrzej Duda after a National Security Council meeting. - We will certainly signal this issue at the NATO summit as well, because we believe it is important. It is in Poland's interest for Ukraine to lean towards the West - he indicated. - So that a free, sovereign, independent Ukraine not only survives Russian aggression but, above all, becomes part of the great Western community. This is in Poland's vital interest, and neither the government today nor I as the President of the Republic of Poland have any doubts about this - he continued.

15:12

Duda:

Kosiniak-Kamysz and Sikorski Will Accompany Me at NATO Summit. Each of Us Has Their Tasks to Perform
- At the NATO summit, I will represent Poland, traditionally, as the President of the Republic of Poland, as has been the case for many years. I will be accompanied by government representatives: Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of National Defence Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, and also Minister of Foreign Affairs Radosław Sikorski. Each of us has our tasks to perform, so please rest assured. Cooperation is going very well, Poland speaks with one voice, there are no problems here - said President Andrzej Duda after a meeting of the National Security Council.

15:14

Tusk:

No One in Poland Should Question the Validity of Presidential Elections
- At the National Security Council, I very clearly raised the issue of election credibility. Both the president and president-elect Karol Nawrocki were present in the room, as were I, the Prime Minister, and ministers, and the heads of parliamentary factions. Therefore, I considered it absolutely necessary to reiterate two fundamental points regarding the presidential elections – stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk in a statement after the RBN meeting. - No one in Poland should question the result of the presidential elections. It cannot be the case that anyone, due to suspicions, considers these elections invalid, or that they need to be repeated. This is certainly not the role of the Prime Minister or the government in any way – he continued.

15:15

Tusk on the Potential Number of Election Protests:

Not a Single Vote Can Be Allowed to Go to Waste.
There is a second matter, equally important, which is that citizens have the right to be certain that their votes have been counted correctly, that there have been no manipulations or abuses, or falsifications, or large-scale errors. As a citizen, as prime minister, I am convinced that not a single citizen's vote can be allowed to go to waste or be disregarded. Wherever it is justified, possible, and necessary, we should obtain certainty that the votes in this election have been counted fairly and honestly – said Prime Minister Donald Tusk in a statement after the meeting of the National Security Council (RBN). The number of protests has probably exceeded all our expectations, protests directed to the Supreme Court, and at the end of the day, we can expect around 30,000 protests to be submitted to the Supreme Court – he added.

15:16

Tusk on Exchange of Words with President-Elect:

We Must Get Used to Each Other.
- So that you don't have to guess what my greeting at the National Security Council with the president-elect looked like, you saw it, everyone greeted each other there, politely, as is proper - Prime Minister Donald Tusk said in a statement after the RBN meeting. - We exchanged a rather obvious remark with the president-elect, it is our duty and we must get used to each other, these are the rules of the game and we will, one way or another, cooperate in many areas, if the whole election matter reaches its happy conclusion - he continued. - The president-elect noted that despite all differences, at least one thing definitely connects us, namely Lechia Gdańsk, it's hard to deny and it's a strong bond, so one cannot underestimate this, but speaking quite seriously, we both realize that the overriding interest of everyone in Poland is for state institutions, whether they love each other or not, it doesn't matter, to cooperate with each other on key matters - he went on to say.

15:16

Duda After the National Security Council Meeting:

On Important Matters, We Talk Seriously, Without Fruitless Political Disputes.
- I am very pleased that this National Security Council meeting proceeded in the usual format: a very substantive, very good, factual discussion, during which many substantive elements were discussed. The questions raised by the parliamentary side received their answers - said President Andrzej Duda after the National Security Council meeting.

- I am glad that this RBN meeting is another one that shows that on these truly important matters, we talk seriously, attentively, with deliberation, and they remain outside of any dry, fruitless political disputes - he assessed.

15:26

I Expect Confirmation of a Unified Polish Stance on Security Matters. Tusk on the Situation After the Presidential Change
- I appealed to the outgoing president, with whom, regarding security, transatlantic ties, and the situation in Ukraine, we had a consistent policy. Both President Duda and I, over these years of cooperation, and sometimes disputes, continued the invaluable principle [...] which was a broad consensus, a broad agreement of all major political forces and state institutions, when it comes to national security, NATO, relations with Russia, Ukraine, or the European Union - Prime Minister Donald Tusk said in a statement after the National Security Council meeting. - I asked that, if at all possible after the change of president, we unequivocally seize the opportunity to maintain unity and full cooperation on matters of security, defense, NATO, Ukraine, and Russia, so that this consensus and cooperation is maintained - he continued. - I will do everything to ensure that this good principle, which forms the foundation of Poland's security, meaning we have a unified opinion here, continues to be in effect, for both the government, the prime minister, the president, and the main political forces - he further stated. - The first test was today's meeting, and there will, of course, be the meeting in The Hague. Although we will be represented there by the outgoing president, in The Hague we will once again confirm that Poland has a unified, common view on security matters. At the next meeting, where the new president will represent Poland, I expect confirmation of this unified, common Polish stance on security matters - he added.

15:27

Continuation of Energy Strategy Regardless of Election Results in 5 or 10 Years. Tusk on Proposal Presented at the RBN
- I also proposed something that is in a sense new, although not entirely, which is that we should use these two years, over two years without any elections [...] to try to build, just as it is in the case of defense, national security, to also try to build a common ground when it comes to the largest, key energy investments – said Prime Minister Donald Tusk in a statement after the RBN meeting. - When we make decisions about building nuclear power plants, we are undertaking investments not only for tens, but effectively hundreds of billions of zlotys, but we are making decisions that will require consequences for the next decade - he continued. - I would very much like it if, in matters of broadly understood energy security, we would agree with the main actors on the political scene in Poland, the President, the Prime Minister, but also the leaders of political parties, that we would establish that this energy strategy will be continued and will be a shared [...] continuation, regardless of what the election results will be in 5 or 10 years - he went on to say.

15:28

Tusk on Government Reconstruction Efforts:

I've Met with PSL Leaders, We Share Very Similar Views.
- My discussions with experts, politicians, and also my staff, who know the system of government, the system of Poland, the Constitution, everything at their fingertips, on how to construct a government that would meet these tasks to an even greater extent than before, are ongoing. I'm talking about this reconstruction – said Prime Minister Donald Tusk in a statement after the National Security Council meeting. - I still have a whole series of conversations ahead of me with interested parties, including with the leaders of the parties forming the governing coalition, the coalition of October 15th. I have met with the Polish People's Party, with the leaders of this party, and it seems that we have very similar points of view here, when it comes to this renewed shape of the government and its priorities - he continued.

15:29

Tusk on When the Government Spokesperson Will Be Presented:

Be Patient.
- As I publicly committed, we will present the government spokesperson this week. They will work with you daily, from morning to evening, so please be patient, this week is drawing to a close – Prime Minister Donald Tusk stated in a declaration following the meeting of the National Security Council (RBN).

Bodnar on Supreme Court's Extraordinary Appeals Chamber Judges: 'They Should Not Rule on Election Protests or Validity'
- Judges of the Extraordinary Appeals and Public Affairs Chamber of the Supreme Court should not rule on election protests or the validity of elections. The need for this matter to be decided by properly appointed judges was also expressed by the National Electoral Commission (PKW) in its report on the presidential elections published yesterday - wrote Adam Bodnar on X. - In my opinion, judges of the Chamber of Labour and Social Security should rule on election protests and election validity. They are appointed in a manner that guarantees their independence and impartiality. Since the Constitution grants citizens the right to file protests, they should be heard by a body they trust – an independent Supreme Court - reads the post by the Minister of Justice and Prosecutor General.

The Issues That Divided Us Are Undoubtedly Becoming More Pronounced. Hennig-Kloska on Poland 2050 and PSL
- Today is the time to focus on electoral promises [...] we had 12 common guarantees [with PSL], but there are also issues that divided us, and these issues are undoubtedly becoming more pronounced somewhere - said Paulina Hennig-Kloska in TVN24's "Fakty po Faktach" (Facts after Facts). - Nevertheless, I wanted to say one thing: undoubtedly, [Trzecia Droga - Third Way] was an excellent idea in 2023, thanks to which we successfully managed to remove PiS from power - she continued. - Today we are no longer a married couple, but we remain a political family that has many matters to settle within a single governmental coalition - she added.

19:46

Hennig-Kloska:

Hołownia Would Be a Great Climate Minister. If He Wanted, I'd Step Aside.
- Of course, it depends on Marshal Szymon Hołownia himself; undoubtedly, he would be a very good Prime Minister, Deputy Prime Minister - Paulina Hennig-Kloska said on TVN24 when asked if Szymon Hołownia, should he cease to be the Marshal of the Sejm, could become Deputy Prime Minister. - I think he would do excellently in the role of, for example, Minister of Foreign Affairs, but we have that position well-filled. However, I know he has always been interested in this field [...]. Undoubtedly, he would also be a great Minister of Climate and Environment - she continued. - Yes, I would step aside for the Marshal if he wanted to; I could even remain Deputy Minister in his ministry to support him - she further stated.

19:49

Hennig-Kloska:

Hołownia is the Best Marshal of the Sejm. I Don't See a Better Candidate This Term
- He [Szymon Hołownia] is the best Marshal of the Sejm, and let's be honest, and here I would really say it directly: I don't see a better candidate for Marshal of the Sejm in this term's Sejm - said Paulina Hennig-Kloska on TVN24. The host of the conversation, Piotr Marciniak, pointed out that agreements must be kept, and Włodzimierz Czarzasty is waiting for the position of Marshal of the Sejm. - Undoubtedly, this would have to happen with the consent of all coalition partners and their approval, but as I said, not only for me [...] but I think that most people asked know that he is a very good marshal - replied Hennig-Kloska.

20:04

Hennig-Kloska:

No dispute between me and the Minister of Industry regarding the energy mix; there is full consensus
- There isn't, because today attempts were also made to manipulate [the narrative], suggesting there is some dispute in the government between me and the Minister of Industry about what the energy mix should look like. I deny this; there is full consensus. Three elements, two: renewable energy sources plus a foundation, that stabilization in the form of nuclear power - said Paulina Hennig-Kloska on TVN24.

20:08

Hennig-Kloska:

We've Always Supported Minister Kotula's Partnership Bill
- We have always supported Minister Kotula's bill. When it comes to registered partnerships, it's a civilizational neglect. We should make it much easier to decide who we want to bequeath our assets to after our death, and to provide medical information. These are basic elements - said Paulina Hennig-Kloska on TVN24.

- I believe the discussion over this bill has been going on for far too long - she continued.

- I think this bill needs to be put before the Sejm, so everyone can state their position on it [...] I am personally curious to see what the new president will do, as that is also not obvious to me - she added.

Jakubiak on the RBN Session:

Tusk Spoke Nonsense, Duda Got Angry and Brought Him Down to Earth.
- I think it was the first time Tusk congratulated Nawrocki. After that, the president opened the session, and Tusk began to speak his nonsense about recounting votes. And that angered the president a bit - because it's no secret, it shouldn't be restricted by confidentiality - and the president truly got a little angry. I would even say he was furious, that's how I perceived it. And I personally, as the only one, applauded him, because that's exactly what needed to be said - Marek Jakubiak said on the wPolsce24 channel. - Then, at the very end, I also told Mr. Tusk what I thought about the matter, and from that moment on he started making excuses. Now he's saying in the media that there's a misunderstanding, "I don't interfere in elections, I do this, I do that" - listen to the narrative - it stems precisely from these experiences we had at the RBN - he stated. He assessed: - It seems to me that the president brought Tusk down to earth. He really brought Tusk down to earth. I won't go into details, but I've never seen Tusk fidget on his chair so much.

Bodnar on Electoral Irregularities:

The Situation is Serious, Every Vote Matters.
- The situation is indeed serious and we cannot underestimate it, because in reality, every vote counts. If we're making tomato soup with rice, whether we put 11 or 12 dekagrams of rice into that portion of soup doesn't really matter, because we'll eat it anyway. However, in this case, every grain, every vote, must be counted. Not only from the perspective of the overall result, but also from the perspective of showing respect to all those people who sometimes traveled 200, 300 kilometers to cast their vote – stated Adam Bodnar on the program "Kropka nad i" on TVN24.

21:09

Bodnar on the Situation in Bielsko-Biała and the Launch of an Investigation:

160 Votes for Trzaskowski Attributed to Nawrocki.
- A second situation is completely new, unusual, and even when I spoke with prosecutors at the National Prosecutor's Office today, they were all astonished. It turned out that [in one of the commissions in Bielsko-Biała] 160 votes for Rafał Trzaskowski were found in a bag of votes for Karol Nawrocki and were attributed to Karol Nawrocki. So, most likely, everything indicates that there was a pile of votes that were simply transferred to Karol Nawrocki – Adam Bodnar said on TVN24. - In this case, the prosecution immediately decided to launch an investigation, because every such case must be explained. This is just the beginning of these situations, meaning the protests are being processed one by one, and these electoral anomalies are being analyzed – he added.

21:10

Bodnar on the Supreme Court's Chamber of Extraordinary Review:

It Doesn't Guarantee Credibility and Independence.
- I believe it's necessary to constantly repeat that [the Chamber of Extraordinary Review and Public Affairs] is not a body that guarantees credibility and independence. I issued this statement today, one might say, for the umpteenth time. But why? Because the National Electoral Commission has essentially written the same thing – stated Adam Bodnar on TVN24.

21:11

Bodnar on the constitutional crisis:

It can be resolved with a dose of responsibility and commitment.
- We are in a very difficult constitutional and legal moment, but it is a moment that can be resolved with a dose of responsibility and commitment – said Adam Bodnar on TVN24.

Giertych and Tusk Tapes from Pegasus? Bodnar: Highly Probable
- At this stage, I cannot confirm with one hundred percent certainty that these tapes [fragments of recordings of Donald Tusk's conversations with Roman Giertych] originated from Pegasus, but I can indicate that it is highly probable, and clarification actions and an investigation are underway to explain this – namely, the verification of these recordings that have been published against those gathered as part of the investigation conducted by investigation team no. 3 at the National Prosecutor's Office – stated Adam Bodnar on TVN24. - A separate investigation has been launched here to clarify how these materials from operational control could have been disclosed, and this is a situation that is very important from the perspective of the rule of law and the clarification of all these circumstances – he added.

And the First President of the Supreme Court Attacks Giertych:

Confrontational and Brusque Style," "Political Squabbling," and "Thoughtlessness.
Mr. Roman Giertych today made an unsuccessful attempt to gain access to the specially controlled access area within the Supreme Court, demanding to inspect the files of a case initiated by an electoral protest he filed. These files were made available to him as a participant in the proceedings. However, not being satisfied with their content, the MP demanded access to the files of a case in which he is not a participant – wrote the First President of the Supreme Court, Małgorzata Manowska, in a statement. – The confrontational and quite brusque style of communication employed by Roman Giertych, which he demonstrated during his presence at the Supreme Court, in my opinion, casts a shadow on the reputation of the legal profession. The irresponsible inspiring of mass electoral protests by Roman Giertych, which resulted in tens of thousands of identically worded electoral protests being filed with the Supreme Court, has seriously disorganized the work of the other chambers of the Supreme Court. Contrary to political calculations, however, this will not delay the adjudication of electoral protests, although it is particularly burdensome for the administrative staff of the Supreme Court – it further reads. – This irresponsible behavior of MP Roman Giertych is contrasted by the attitude of the Supreme Court staff, who, confronted with the consequences of political squabbling, voluntarily declared their readiness to work on the holiday and throughout the “long weekend.” As an employer, I am inspired by the attitude of the administrative staff of the Supreme Court and at the same time embarrassed by the thoughtlessness of the MP, which has caused them to spend this time working hard instead of with their families – stated Manowska.
