Tuesday's Political Agenda: Government Continues with Deregulation
At 12:00, a meeting of the Council of Ministers will commence. On the agenda is another package forming part of the so-called deregulation projects. The government will also hear information from Minister Maciej Berka on the coordination of the legislative process implementing deregulation. Furthermore, ministers will address several other projects – including the Goods and Services Tax Act, amendments to the Sports Act, amendments to the Act on the Control of Certain Investments, and the Act on subsidies for interest rates on bank loans granted to entrepreneurs affected by the consequences of COVID-19, as well as on simplified proceedings for arrangement approval in connection with the occurrence of COVID-19.

Pełczyńska-Nałęcz:

We are in a difficult situation as a coalition. We lack a clearly stated plan for what we will do over the next 2.5 years.
- I believe that we are in a very difficult situation today as Poland, and in a difficult situation as a coalition, which means we need to tell people what the plan is for the next 2.5 years of our government – said Katarzyna Pełczyńska-Nałęcz in an interview with Mariusz Piekarski on the TVP Info program "Gość poranka". - In my opinion, such a clearly stated plan is missing: what we will do over 2.5 years and why, what are the biggest challenges facing Poland, which matters should be addressed first, when and how they will be done. This is what is lacking. We can bury our heads in the sand, we can all say "no, no, no, everything behind closed doors", no, such a strategic plan is needed – she continued. - Let's not be afraid of visions, let's not be afraid of strategic plans, let's not be afraid of bold development – she added.

Should Poland Stand with Israel? Morawiecki: Israel's Actions Towards Eliminating Iran's Nuclear Capabilities Are Appropriate. In This Sense, Yes
- Should Poland stand with Israel in the conflict with Iran – yes or no? - Bogdan Rymanowski asked on "Gość Radia ZET". - In this situation, we are certainly dealing with a very serious threat from Iran. Therefore, Israel's actions towards eliminating Iran's nuclear capabilities are generally entirely appropriate. In this sense, yes - replied Mateusz Morawiecki. - I support American and allied actions aimed at eliminating the capability to implement the nuclear program. Iran's nuclear program is also a threat to Poland, a threat to world peace - he continued. - This [Israeli air strike] is a violation of international law, but it was also a violation of international law what Iran was doing contrary to the JCPOA agreement, which obligated Iran to shut down nuclear facilities. Iran is not doing this. […] Hamas, the Houthis, and Hezbollah are organizations that are under the influence or control of Iran, and through these organizations, Iran is destabilizing the situation in the Middle East and around the world - he continued.

08:22

Morawiecki:

Tusk a Scoundrel? That's a Very Mild Description of What He's Doing
- That is a very mild description [that Donald Tusk is a scoundrel] in relation to what he is doing. [...] A prime minister who relies on witnesses like Jacek Murański, who does not deal with the real problems of Poles, who engages in mystification, is a prime minister who can be described in such terms - said Mateusz Morawiecki on "Gość Radia ZET".

08:23

Pełczyńska-Nałęcz:

Everyone says 'there's a lot of money for social housing,' but I'm telling the truth. Funds haven't been redirected, just one signature is missing.
- I'm not asking [for a billion PLN for social housing], I'm just telling the truth. This is also part of the new policy: I'm telling the truth. Everyone goes around saying: ah, there's a lot of money for social housing - said Katarzyna Pełczyńska-Nałęcz on TVP Info. - I'm telling people the truth, because simply saying "there is a lot of money for social housing" won't result in a single house being built. I'm telling the truth that the money is in the budget, it hasn't been redirected because one signature is missing for it to be redirected - she continued. - Tens of thousands of apartments are waiting, which could be built because local government projects are already ready, that's the truth. Has anyone denied it? Said I was lying? No. I am telling the truth. Why am I telling this truth? To move things forward - she added.

What About the Third Way? Pełczyńska-Nałęcz: I Have a Very Clear Opinion, but the National Council Will Decide
- An important event awaits us on [June] 25th because that is when the National Council of Poland 2050 will convene, and we will discuss the Third Way, we will also discuss our developmental vision - Katarzyna Pełczyńska-Nałęcz stated on TVP Info, when asked about the future of the Third Way and the sense of this project. - I believe this is a decision for the National Council [...] I have my opinion, a very clear one [...] I respect the decision-making process and procedures, democracy within Poland 2050, and these procedures dictate that such decisions are made by the National Council, not in an interview by the vice-chairperson - she continued. - I have my opinion based on our program, on our mission, on our vision, which I deeply believe in and consider sensible - she added. - We agreed on four elections, we are talking about future elections, Poland 2050 is today a truly strong and well-functioning group. Institutionally, we can handle anything - she added, when asked if Poland 2050 would manage to run independently in parliamentary elections.

Morawiecki Responds to Confederation Politicians:

This is not any Ukrainian loan. Please familiarize yourselves with the full context.
- The beginning of the war was a situation completely incomparable to what we have today. This is not any Ukrainian loan, but aid that the entire EU directed towards Ukraine - said Mateusz Morawiecki on "Gość Radia ZET". - We could say that in 2022, we should have abandoned Ukraine and sent no aid to Ukraine, but then we would have had Russian troops on the border with Poland - he said. - There was no special decision. Simply, the EU and all EU member states are repaying the portion that fell to each member state. It's like asking: do I regret supporting Ukraine so that it wouldn't fall under the blows of the Russian army? No, I don't regret it - he stated. - The context is that all EU countries are responsible for a portion of the aid that the EU provided to Ukraine. Poland is responsible for a part of this aid. Perhaps someone has not familiarized themselves with the context, I very much urge you to familiarize yourselves with the entirety - he indicated, referring to Confederation politicians who are publicizing this issue.

"Feeding the most ardent supporters of the current Prime Minister's team." Morawiecki on the "Strong Together sect"
- I am entirely in favor of completing all necessary stages of the election verification process. I have always been in favor of elections being conducted in the most honest way possible - said Mateusz Morawiecki on "Gość Radia ZET". - I have no doubts that this [the demand by many PO politicians for a recount of all votes] is, however, feeding the most ardent supporters of the current Prime Minister's team - he assessed. - Of course, everyone has the right to submit an application [an electoral protest], although I must say that if the Strong Together sect submits the same application 50,000 times, just from different locations in the country, it will still be treated as one reported application concerning irregularities - he stated.

09:02

Morawiecki Addresses Kosiniak-Kamysz:

The Offer is Still Open.
- I can reiterate this proposal, in the sense, of course, that it is the PSL's decision whether they want to continue to be absorbed by PO and end the 130-year history of the PSL. [...] I don't know if the current leader of the PSL wants to be the last one to fold the banners - said Mateusz Morawiecki on "Gość Radia ZET". When asked if he could imagine a PiS, Konfederacja, and PSL coalition in the current Sejm, he replied: - Not necessarily a coalition, because I understand that it might be difficult for the PSL to accept such a coalition. We are also not eager for any coalitions. I am not talking about anything like that. - I am only saying that it is worth ending this very bad government and it is worth giving the leader of the PSL a chance to become prime minister himself. That was 1.5 years ago [when he had the first opportunity], maybe now he will take this second chance… The offer is still open - he declared.

09:10

Morawiecki:

This Government Will Not Regain Trust from Citizens. Sometimes One Bag of Potatoes is Enough
- This government will not regain the trust of voters, of citizens. I think sometimes one bag of potatoes is enough to expose the entire arrogance of power. One could say [...] that the Prime Minister won't even manage to peel that bag of potatoes anymore - said Mateusz Morawiecki on "Gość Radia ZET".

09:16

Siemoniak on the Israel-Iran Conflict:

The Situation is Extremely Serious, Various Scenarios Should Be Considered.
- I believe that this situation is extremely serious, the situation is escalating, and various scenarios should be considered. What some assumed, that the conflict would last a few days, they would shoot rockets and drones at each other, there would be air attacks, might only be the first phase of this conflict, so one must observe all of this very carefully. We need to see how it affects the security situation in Europe and in the world – stated Tomasz Siemoniak in the program "Graffiti" on Polsat News.

09:17

GPS Disruptions in Pomerania. Siemoniak: There is no doubt Russia has its fingers in this
The services have been dealing with this for a long time [regarding GPS disruptions in Pomerania] in cooperation with the authorities responsible for air navigation and the security of Polish airspace. I don't want to go into details here because these actions are not public, but we are taking this incredibly seriously, as it affects security, and it also affects the operations of various military installations and units - said Tomasz Siemoniak on Polsat News. There is no doubt that Russia has its fingers in this - he added.

09:18

Siemoniak on the Supreme Court's Election Validity Verdict:

I Believe the Judges Will Craft This Ruling So There Are No Doubts.
- I do not want to prejudge the Supreme Court's decision. I believe that the judges understand the doubts surrounding this chamber and that they will craft the election validity ruling in such a way that there will be no doubts regarding its composition and the thorough consideration of all matters – stated Tomasz Siemoniak on Polsat News.

09:19

Siemoniak on Tusk and Giertych Recordings:

It's Unacceptable for Operational Materials to Be Made Public in Such a Manner.
It's embarrassing that Mr. Romanowski, who fled Poland and still faces serious charges, is building his public activity in this manner. Regarding this specific matter, I have read the explanations from both Senator Stanisław Gawłowski and MP Roman Giertych himself, and they raise no doubts, nor did they raise any doubts with the National Electoral Commission or the prosecution – stated Tomasz Siemoniak on Polsat News. I am not saying that Mr. Święczkowski is behind this, I am saying that he had these materials, that he demanded these materials in such an extraordinary manner, and therefore I assume that the entire leadership of PiS or Minister Ziobro also knew about it and for some reasons decided to use it at this moment, and this needs to be explained. It is absolutely unacceptable for operational materials to be made public in such a way – he continued.

09:20

Siemoniak calls for a recount of votes:

It's better to avoid any doubts.
I believe that presidential elections are so important that it is better to avoid any doubts. I would have no objection if the Supreme Court were to decide so. For the quality of democracy in Poland, it should not be the case that doubts about the election linger for a longer period. Yesterday's report from the National Electoral Commission (PKW) showed that the PKW, the body responsible for conducting the elections, has serious doubts, so I think this option of recounting all votes is reasonable – stated Tomasz Siemoniak on Polsat News.

09:29

Morawiecki:

If Nawrocki's Associates Indicate Close Cooperation with Our Political Camp, I Am Very Pleased
- Every president is an independent institution in themselves, they guard the constitution, and I am convinced that Karol Nawrocki will be precisely such a president - said Mateusz Morawiecki on "Gość Radia ZET". - And if his associates are visible and they indicate that cooperation with our political camp will be close, then I am very pleased, because it should be as close as possible. It should lead to the president being a guardian, controlling this government effectively, and Karol Nawrocki will certainly do that - he stated.

09:38

Morawiecki:

If there's no cooperation with this government, Nawrocki will ultimately appeal to the nation
- A strong president with character, like Karol Nawrocki, will be able to do a lot, for example, with the Migration Pact or the Green Deal. These two major European initiatives were blocked by my government until the very end. Donald Tusk only needed 8 days to adopt the Migration Pact and a month to accept the Green Deal - said Mateusz Morawiecki on "Gość Radia ZET". - He [Karol Nawrocki] will be able to do more [than Andrzej Duda], because the outgoing president can do much less than a president with a very strong social mandate. The newly elected president will be able to stand in front of his palace and say: "Mr. Prime Minister, I invite you here to me. And if not, I invite tens of thousands of people around the Sejm, the Chancellery of the Prime Minister. Please renounce the Migration Pact, please do not abide by the rules of the Green Deal" - he stated. Asked if he thought Karol Nawrocki would call on the nation to demonstrate on the streets against the government, he replied: - In the final instance, if there is no cooperation with this government, Karol Nawrocki will appeal to the nation, because it is the nation that elected him. Please ask Karol Nawrocki if he will do that. I have said what I think will happen.

09:43

Morawiecki:

I Can Imagine Cooperation with Braun's Party to Remove This Bad Government
- I can imagine cooperation with almost anyone. Yes, I also imagine cooperation with that party [Grzegorz Braun's Confederation of the Polish Crown] in order to remove Donald Tusk's bad government from power - said Mateusz Morawiecki in "Gość Radia ZET".

09:48

"I Could See Myself in Prime Minister Bosak’s Government". Morawiecki on "Opening Coalition Possibilities with Confederation"
- I believe that the next Prime Minister will be from PiS, but I also believe in opening our coalition possibilities, including with Confederation - said Mateusz Morawiecki in “Gość Radia ZET”. - I could also see myself in Prime Minister Bosak’s government. If there was such a possibility to thus remove the Tusk government from power, then absolutely - he stated.

11:05

Kosiniak-Kamysz on the First Apache Helicopters in Poland:

One of the Fastest Military Contracts Ever Executed.
- We are modernizing and transforming the Polish Army at lightning speed. The contract we signed on August 13, 2024, on the eve of Polish Army Day, has been executed. This is one of the fastest executed contracts in the history of the modernization of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Poland, the purchase of 96 Apaches, a major investment combined with offset, strengthening our military plants – stated Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz at a press conference.

11:06

Kosiniak-Kamysz:

Polish Army Ready to Evacuate Polish Citizens from the Middle East Since Friday
- For us, the most important thing from the Polish government's perspective is to take care of Polish citizens. Today at 12 PM, there's a staff meeting at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. I'd like to reiterate once again the readiness that has been in place since 7:30 AM on Friday. Since 7:30 AM on June 13th, the Polish Army has been ready to provide full support and evacuate Polish citizens immediately, provided there is a directive from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and diplomatic preparations are made – said Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz at a press conference.

11:07

Kosiniak-Kamysz:

All Decisions Poland Makes Regarding the Israeli-Iranian Conflict Will Be Allied Decisions
- We are in contact with our NATO allies, particularly with the United States, with Turkey, but also with Great Britain and France, because here all decisions that Poland will make will be allied decisions, they will be Alliance decisions – stated Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz at a press conference.

11:10

Bodnar on Giertych's Recorded Conversations:

After Analysis, the Prosecutor Will Decide Whether to Launch an Investigation.
Following the publication by TV Republika of several recorded conversations involving Roman Giertych, Investigation Team No. 3 of the National Public Prosecutor's Office, which is conducting proceedings concerning the use of Pegasus software, has undertaken intensive cooperation with the Central Anticorruption Bureau. The entirety of the circumstances is being analyzed for the potential commission of prohibited acts, particularly the disclosure of materials from operational control and the breach of defense secrecy. After the analysis is complete, the prosecutor will decide whether a separate investigation will be initiated in this matter — wrote Adam Bodnar on platform X.

14:00

Kaczyński:

PO Politicians Know Nawrocki Won, Yet They Try to Destroy State Foundations by Questioning Election Results
"Democracy is respect for the voters' verdict. Donald Tusk doesn't know how to lose with dignity. PO politicians know perfectly well that Karol Nawrocki won, and yet they are trying to destroy the foundations of the state by questioning the election results," Jarosław Kaczyński wrote on X. "This is more important to the current government than the efficient functioning of the state. However, no one will take this victory away from us," he continued. "Losing taught them nothing. Chaos and disgrace at every step. It is high time to get to work, because even a thousand stones in the center of Berlin will not compensate for our war losses, and the patience of Polish citizens waiting for evacuation from Israel is also running out..." - the PiS leader emphasized.

19:13

Biejat's Sharp Words Directed at Kosiniak-Kamysz:

I Advise Him to Back Off.
- I don't even know how to comment on this. In the Ministry of Justice, at the initiative of Minister Rudzińska-Bluszcz, a law has been created that simplifies divorces in special cases: when a couple wants to separate by mutual consent and there are no minor children. Instead of waiting half a year for a divorce case, going through the entire long process, additional stress, they could simply get divorced at the Civil Registry Office - says Magdalena Biejat in a recording published on the X portal. - Who doesn't like this? The PSL. Objections to the draft were submitted by the Ministry of Agriculture and the Ministry of National Defence. Two ministries exceptionally qualified to comment on marriage and family - indicated the Deputy Marshal of the Senate. As she noted: - And who heads the Ministry of Defence and the PSL? Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz - the same man who has already managed to get divorced once. But what doesn't he like about this draft? That it will be too easy to get divorced. - Do you understand any of this? I don't. But I have one piece of advice for Minister Kosiniak-Kamysz. Back off from us, from our marriages and from our divorces, and perhaps focus on managing the army, because I've heard he's not doing too well - emphasized the senator from Lewica. As she stated, the PSL is the "main brake on all changes."

19:22

Błaszczak:

Tusk and his team want to steal the election from Poles
PiS does not want to allow the scenario of an attack on the Polish state, which Donald Tusk and his team are trying to implement, to be realized. They want to steal the election from Poles – stated Mariusz Błaszczak on RMF FM. - The political plan of the ruling party is to destroy another state institution, the Supreme Court. That's what this is all about; they do not recognize the Supreme Court judges, even the Venice Commission recognizes the Supreme Court judges, but they don't. Therefore, they want to undermine trust in President Karol Nawrocki – he continued.

19:25

Błaszczak on recounting votes:

It would introduce confusion and doubt about the entire electoral process.
- No, I don’t think [recounting all votes] would be beneficial. It would introduce confusion, and it would also introduce such doubt about the entire electoral process. Of course, courts decide, after all, we are currently dealing with recounting votes, but this is about the intention of those in power. It is an intention whose aim, that’s how I perceive it, that’s how I assess it, is to undermine trust in the institutions of the Polish state – said Mariusz Błaszczak on RMF FM. - Today, those governing Poland cannot cope with defeat, which is why they are attacking, undermining citizens’ trust in state institutions – he added.

19:26

Błaszczak on Apache Helicopters:

Congress Approved Their Transfer to Poland in Mid-2023.
- They arrived a year late, because I initiated the acquisition of Apaches when I was the Minister of National Defence. I had an agreement with the then-Secretary of Defense, Lloyd Austin, that 8 Apache units would be delivered to Poland, serving as a bridging solution, meaning they would be used for training, with Polish pilots and technicians training on them. The United States Congress approved the transfer of this equipment to us in mid-2023 – stated Mariusz Błaszczak on RMF FM.

19:27

Błaszczak:

President Nawrocki Shapes His Own Chancellery
- It's not that President Nawrocki will be somehow controlled. No. President Nawrocki is a man who shapes his own chancellery, that's the first thing. Secondly, of course we have relations, we jointly prepared President Nawrocki's program, which was supported by the people – said Mariusz Błaszczak on RMF FM.

19:28

Błaszczak accuses Tusk of lacking willingness to cooperate with Nawrocki:

Full of aggression, devoid of ideas.
- I think what happened last Wednesday is very characteristic. In the morning, Donald Tusk's speech in the Sejm was full of aggression, an attack on the opposition, devoid of ideas. This shows Donald Tusk's lack of willingness to cooperate with the President of the Republic; Donald Tusk treated Andrzej Duda, the President, that way. And the speech delivered by Karol Nawrocki at the Royal Castle, what did he talk about? He talked about the need to tear down the wall of hatred. And please, look at the difference? – stated Mariusz Błaszczak on RMF FM.

19:37

Nawrocki to Participate in the National Security Council Meeting
- President-elect Karol Nawrocki will participate in tomorrow's National Security Council meeting at the invitation of President Andrzej Duda - reported Rafał Leśkiewicz, appointed by Nawrocki as his spokesperson, currently the spokesperson for the Institute of National Remembrance (IPN).

19:51

Czarnek on joining Nawrocki's chancellery:

There are discussions, I'm on the list.
- Everything will become clear. President-elect Karol Nawrocki still has plenty of time for reflections and for staffing his chancellery, which will move into the Presidential Palace and buildings on Wiejska Street no earlier than August 7th. Therefore, there is still plenty of time – Przemysław Czarnek said in an interview with Bogdan Rymanowski on Polsat News’s “Gość Wydarzeń”. When pressed whether he had received an offer to join Nawrocki’s chancellery, he replied: - There are discussions. I am greatly honored and privileged to be on some list prepared by President Karol Nawrocki. I know this, and in itself, it is an honor for me. - But there are no decisions on this matter. Until there are, truly, a lot can still happen – he stipulated.

20:00

Czarnek:

If I went to the Presidential Palace, I would remain a loyal member of PiS
- I am a member of PiS, the head of its structures in Lublin. I have very good relations with President Jarosław Kaczyński. Regardless of whether I stay in the Sejm or go to the [Presidential] Palace, I will remain a loyal member of PiS, including in the Presidential Palace. This is completely obvious to me, and there is no doubt about it - said Przemysław Czarnek on Polsat News' "Gość Wydarzeń". - There are no such legal conditions [that upon joining the President's Chancellery, one resigns from party membership]. The President's Chancellery and employment there, even in a leading position, means resigning from a parliamentary mandate, but not resigning from party functions - he pointed out. - There is no such requirement in the regulations, and I will definitely not resign - if I go there, because President Karol Nawrocki is probably considering more than one option. Let's give him time to think calmly - he added.

20:13

Czarnek:

"United for Poland" are somehow weak. Only 5,000 election protests did they produce?
- "United for Poland" are somehow weak. Only 5,000 [election] protests did they produce, and are they all the same? - said Przemysław Czarnek on "Gość Wydarzeń" on Polsat News. - They [members delegated by Trzaskowski's committee] had an advantage in the commissions and they say someone falsified the elections? In the commission in Krakow, where a thousand votes were mistaken, there wasn't a single representative of Karol Nawrocki's electoral committee. It's a mockery - he stated.

20:25

Czarnek:

Tomczyk and Trzaskowski's Committee's Political Games Show a Lack of Political Class. They Cannot Accept Defeat
- The Supreme Court, I am convinced, will rise to the occasion, will review all electoral protests, because it is necessary, and will carry out all actions needed to calm the situation - said Przemysław Czarnek on Polsat News's "Gość Wydarzeń" (Guest of Events). - However, these kinds of political games by Cezary Tomczyk and Trzaskowski's voters' electoral committee demonstrate a lack of political class. They simply cannot accept the defeat they have suffered - he assessed.

23:00

The End of the Third Way: PSL Decides, Hołownia Confirms
- We accept the decision of the National Council of our coalition partner, the PSL, to effectively end the Third Way project with understanding and gratitude. Understanding, because we agreed on a series of four elections. Gratitude, because we have mutually fulfilled our commitments, and loyalty and trust are fundamental in politics - wrote Szymon Hołownia on X. - The National Council of Poland 2050 has been convened for June 28th. We will once again confirm our determination for constructive cooperation with our partners in the fight for the "de-Kaczynski-zation" of state-owned companies, truly public media, affordable and accessible housing, and the digital safety of our children - reads the post by the leader of Poland 2050. - In the renewed government of the October 15th Coalition, we will be advocates for bold development. And the prospect of running independently in future elections gives us a feeling of sincere political joy today - he stated.
