Wednesday's Political Agenda: Duda with Children, Sikorski in Berlin, Sejm Debates Constitutional Change and Healthcare, Trzaskowski's Conference, Meeting on Technical Government
At 12:15 PM, President Andrzej Duda and his wife will meet with children in the Presidential Palace Garden to familiarize them with the principles of safe behavior during holidays. The President is scheduled to present medals for sacrifice and courage to "six young heroes," and an address by the presidential couple is also planned. At 12:30 PM, a press conference by Sławomir Mentzen will be held in the Sejm. On Wednesday, Radosław Sikorski will travel to Berlin. The Polish Minister of Foreign Affairs will meet with his German counterpart, Johann Wadephul. The talks will concern key European security issues and further support for Ukraine. The visit is related to the participation of both ministers in the opening ceremony of the Polish-German Forum at the Polish Embassy in Berlin. Also on Wednesday, a meeting regarding the formation of a cross-party technical government is scheduled. "I have sent an invitation to the parliamentary clubs and circles," informed the head of the PiS parliamentary club, Mariusz Błaszczak, on X. The evening includes the grand opening of the renovated part of Defilad Square – the so-called Central Square. Earlier, a press conference with the participation of the Mayor of Warsaw, Rafał Trzaskowski, is planned. Wednesday also marks the last day of the Sejm's session. At 9:00 AM, current affairs questions are scheduled, and at 11:15 AM, a current information briefing on "the dramatic and month-on-month deteriorating financial situation in Polish healthcare" will take place. At 12:45 PM, the first reading of the presidential draft amending the Constitution will occur. This concerns enshrining the minimum level of financing for Poland's defense needs in the basic law, as well as raising this indicator to 4% of GDP. At 2:45 PM, the first reading of the government's draft concerning veterans of operations outside the state's borders, income tax, and public finances is planned. This pertains to compensation for veterans. At 4:15 PM, the first reading of the government's draft amendment to the Code of Criminal Procedure will take place. The project aims to enable bilateral electronic communication with the court and is part of deregulation. At 5:30 PM, votes on laws concerning so-called pay transparency and the National Cardiac Network will be held. At 6:30 PM, a report by the Minister of Interior and Administration on the implementation of the law on the acquisition of real estate by foreigners in 2024 is scheduled.

Morawiecki:

A Lazy Government Dragged Trzaskowski Down. He Received a Yellow, or Perhaps Even a Red Card from Citizens
- The most important thing is that the government received a yellow, or perhaps even a red card from the citizens. Looking at how this government governs, or rather doesn't govern, it tries to avoid stumbles by not getting out of bed at all in the morning, then it's indeed difficult to stumble, and it's an incredibly lazy government in a crisis situation, very difficult circumstances, its actions are almost invisible – stated Mateusz Morawiecki in a conversation with Marcin Fijołek on Polsat News's "Graffiti". - I'm not surprised that this government dragged Rafał Trzaskowski down like a millstone. This is not just a defeat for this government and Trzaskowski himself, it's a defeat for a certain vision, or even a lack of implementation of a basic economic development strategy for Poles – he continued.

08:05

Morawiecki with a Map in the Polsat Studio:

The Result Shown Doesn't Tell the Whole Story.
I want to show this map because it shows in how many municipalities Poles voted for Karol Nawrocki. That's the blue color. The result that was shown recently doesn't tell the whole story. What can we infer from this? It means that Poles across the entire country have overwhelmingly said: there is no government strategy, no government concern for fighting inflation, for Poland's development, for CPK, for other elements of development that Poles want in order for Poland to be the fastest-growing country - stated Mateusz Morawiecki in "Graffiti" Polsat News. - The margin of votes alone doesn't tell the whole story. Large cities voted for Rafał Trzaskowski, that's true, and many people live there, of course, the result was as you say, but Poland is one, Poland consists of districts, municipalities - he continued.

08:08

Morawiecki:

You Can't Govern from Tuesday to Thursday, Smoking Cigars and Drinking Whiskey on Parkowa Street
- Government is a very serious matter. You cannot govern from Tuesday to Thursday, smoking cigars and drinking whiskey on Parkowa Street, as is happening under the current Prime Minister, my successor - stated Mateusz Morawiecki in "Graffiti" on Polsat News.

08:10

Morawiecki:

Officials Already Know This Government Will End Sooner Rather Than Later, Likely Sooner
- Officials already know today that this government will end sooner or later, likely sooner, which is precisely why our proposal for a technical government to take matters into its own hands and improve the state of Poland's economy is what we are dealing with today - stated Mateusz Morawiecki on "Graffiti" Polsat News.

08:14

Morawiecki:

A technical government is not a PiS government. There must also be votes from the ruling coalition.
- A technical government is not a PiS government. Perhaps there is a misunderstanding or a lack of comprehension here. Simply put, there is a candidate who does not evoke strong emotions, let's say a professional expert from outside parliament, and such a person can gain a majority of votes, even from the current ruling coalition. There must also be votes from the ruling coalition, because, as you said, it requires 231 votes, Mateusz Morawiecki stated on Polsat News' 'Graffiti'.

Prime Minister Change? Zgorzelski: It's a Decision for Coalition Leaders. If There Were to Be a Change, I'd Bet on Kosiniak-Kamysz
- That is a decision for the coalition leaders and it will certainly be discussed on Thursday, because that's when the leaders are set to meet - said Piotr Zgorzelski in an interview with Bogdan Rymanowski on the program "Gość Radia Zet", when asked if the ruling coalition should replace the prime minister.

- If there were to be any change of prime minister, I would naturally bet on Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz [...] he would certainly carry the weight of governing - he continued.

- No. If such a meeting takes place, and there is a conclusion regarding a change of prime minister, then from our perspective, Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz is undoubtedly the best candidate for prime minister - he went on to say, when asked if the PSL would tomorrow set Donald Tusk a condition that they want him to be replaced by Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz.

- In my opinion, this discussion will not happen at all, because the largest ruling party will want Prime Minister Tusk to continue this mission - he added.

08:25

Zgorzelski on Kamiński and Sawicki's Statements:

They Did Not Represent the PSL's Stance.
- Both Marshal Kamiński and the senior marshal, who also has his statements, have the right to their opinion, because we are a democratic party. The fact that they express their opinion does not mean that it is the stance of the club or the Polish People's Party. We, I repeat, are democrats and we do not muzzle anyone - said Piotr Zgorzelski on Radio Zet. - I'll say more, today at 9 AM the club meeting begins, where we will also discuss this. [...] Neither Michał Kamiński nor Marek Sawicki, in their statements, represented the party's stance, but they have the right to their opinion - he continued.

08:30

Will Kołodziejczak Leave the Ministry of Agriculture? Zgorzelski: It's Time for a Bon Voyage
- It's time for a bon voyage - said Piotr Zgorzelski on Radio Zet, when asked about Michał Kołodziejczak, who is reportedly already packed and ready to leave the Ministry of Agriculture. - Please, go ahead. It's a decision for an adult person - he continued, when pressed whether Kołodziejczak might leave.

08:34

Zgorzelski:

Let Prime Minister Tusk Continue His Mission. All PSL MPs Will Raise Their Hands for Him
- I believe he is the Prime Minister and let him continue his mission – said Piotr Zgorzelski on Radio Zet, when asked if Donald Tusk should leave the government. - In my opinion, [Prime Minister Tusk] is not a burden to the government – he continued. - Yes, because we are part of the governing coalition, the vote of confidence in the government is intended to unite the ranks and move forward – he added, when asked if all PSL MPs would raise their hands for Prime Minister Tusk.

08:40

Zgorzelski:

I won't attend the meeting on a technical government. I suspect no one will go, not even Konfederacja
- No, because if Jarosław Kaczyński wanted this initiative to be serious, he himself would have gotten involved, not sent his subordinate Mariusz Błaszczak. I suspect no one, perhaps not even Konfederacja, will attend this meeting – Piotr Zgorzelski stated on Radio Zet when asked if he would attend a meeting with Mariusz Błaszczak concerning a technical government. - If President Kaczyński himself were inviting, he would certainly have extended the invitation to President Kosiniak-Kamysz, and he would then make the decision – he continued.

08:53

Bryłka:

I hope Nawrocki remembers he was elected not just by PiS voters, but by a broader electorate
- I hope the president-elect remembers and will remember that he was elected primarily by the votes of a broader electorate than just PiS voters. That it was very strong support, including precisely from Sławomir Mentzen's voters - Anna Bryłka said on Radio Wnet. - I hope the president-elect will remember that he signed Sławomir Mentzen's eight points, concerning very different policies: whether it's relations with the EU, cash transactions, raising taxes, access to weapons, Ukraine in NATO, etc. - she listed. - I hope he will be a representative of his voters, not just PiS voters - she added.

08:57

Zgorzelski:

Paszyk is an excellent minister. Resignation from the position of Minister of Development and Technology? It's just a rumor
- Minister Paszyk is an excellent minister, well-prepared, and this is absolutely and solely a rumor - said Piotr Zgorzelski on Radio Zet, responding to a listener's question about whether the rumor that Krzysztof Paszyk is to step down as minister is true.

09:01

Zgorzelski:

The government should have 20% to 30% fewer ministers
- We are talking about 20 to 30%, certainly there can be fewer deputy ministers as well, and we will see what our coalition partners say to that. We discussed it within the Third Way, and there is consensus around it. Yesterday, I spoke with Marshal Czarzasty, he is also in favour of simply improving the functioning of the government in some way - said Piotr Zgorzelski on Radio Zet, when asked how much the government should be "slimmed down" in terms of ministerial positions.

09:11

Zgorzelski:

Hołownia, as party leader, can run for any position. It would be good if he became Deputy Prime Minister
- In my opinion, as party leader, he can run for any position. He ran for president, he has the qualifications, although a short parliamentary term, but he is a capable politician and can hold any position in Poland - said Piotr Zgorzelski, when asked if he could imagine a situation where Szymon Hołownia would be a regular MP after he stops being the Marshal of the Sejm, or if he should be given the position of Deputy Prime Minister. - It would be good, because he also takes responsibility in an executive sense for the work of this government - he continued, when asked if it would be good if Hołownia became Deputy Prime Minister.

09:15

Bryłka:

From the outset, there's no will for cooperation from Tusk. These will be difficult years for Nawrocki, I expect a witch hunt.
- The Prime Minister's Monday address is very impolite. The failure to extend congratulations to President-elect Karol Nawrocki is highly inappropriate. This is simply a matter of courteous behavior […], even if one disagrees, normal congratulations should have taken place. This was certainly missing - said Anna Bryłka on Radio Wnet. In her opinion: - This already shows that the relations between the Prime Minister's Chancellery and the President's Chancellery are hindered from the start and there is no will for cooperation from the Prime Minister. - These 2 years of Prime Minister Donald Tusk will undoubtedly be difficult years for the president. We all remember the presidency of Lech Kaczyński or the ongoing presidency of Andrzej Duda. I also expect a witch hunt and so on. They will be dirty – or so it seems to me, I hope I am wrong – but after the Prime Minister's Monday address, everything indicates that this is how it will look - she assessed.

09:25

Bryłka:

Nawrocki must reckon with very strong blackmail from the European Commission. This is not the president they expected.
- Certainly, the president-elect must reckon with the fact that he will be under very strong blackmail. In a moment, the European Commission will say that there is no rule of law in Poland, because there is a president who blocks laws concerning the judiciary, etc. This will be truly gigantic blackmail, under which the Chancellery of the President will find itself - said Anna Bryłka on Radio Wnet. - We dealt with financial blackmail from the EC during the government of Mateusz Morawiecki. Prime Minister Morawiecki really agreed to almost all EU-level policies. And despite this, PiS was still under financial blackmail from the EC. The whole of Poland was under such blackmail. One cannot approach this naively in any way, because that's how it will look for the foreseeable future - she stated. - This is not the candidate that the EC dreamed of. This is not the president the EC expected. I expect that Prime Minister Donald Tusk probably assured the EC that "our candidate will certainly be president, everything will work out here, Poland has returned to the right track of the rule of law" [...]. Only this plan did not come to fruition - she added.

09:34

Czarnek on Nawrocki’s Chancellery:

We Have No Intention of Interfering with How It’s Furnished.
- It will certainly be a new chancellery, it will be a very energetic chancellery, because that's how Karol Nawrocki is, and that's how the IPN is under his leadership. We certainly have no intention of interfering with how it’s furnished – stated Przemysław Czarnek on Radio Wnet. - I am convinced that for these very difficult times, this presidency and likely the way all ministers in the Presidential Chancellery will be selected will be of great importance – he added.

09:35

Czarnek Appeals to PSL and Poland 2050 to Leave the Coalition:

This is the week to come to your senses.
- I hope that on June 11th, a part of the December 13th coalition will realize that the new political situation, born from the June 1st elections, gives them a chance to break free from the circle where they serve a bad cause and join the coalition of Polish affairs – said Przemysław Czarnek on Radio Wnet. - If, on the other hand, the coalition grants a vote of confidence to Tusk on June 11th despite everything, and he filed this motion precisely to blackmail and corner them, then first of all, nothing will change for Poland for the better. Secondly, both PSL and Poland 2050, as well as other parties, must be aware that they will be consumed by Tusk within the next few months, so I truly appeal through Radio Wnet: this is the week to come to your senses – he continued.

09:37

Poland Awaits Unity on the Right. Czarnek Appeals to Konfederacja for Cooperation
I appeal to our colleagues from Konfederacja to stop speaking in a way that, how to put it, doesn't fit today's reality. They behaved beautifully during the June 1st elections, and I thank Konfederacja's electorate, Mr. Sławomir Mentzen, and Mr. Grzegorz Braun, for their massive support of Karol Nawrocki; thanks to them, Nawrocki is president. But now we need to take two steps forward,” said Przemysław Czarnek on Radio Wnet. “Poland expects unity on the right. Poland expects cooperation, not waiting, because this is not a time for waiting. This is a very difficult geopolitical situation that requires us to respond to challenges, not to wait and accuse each other of cannibalism. Certainly, no one in PiS thinks this way, and I assure our colleagues from Konfederacja that they can be assured of open, friendly, and also very transparent cooperation,” he continued.

09:38

Czarnek:

Orienting towards the USA is the only possible solution
Orienting towards the United States, which Poles undertook on June 1st by electing Karol Nawrocki, is the only possible solution that offers us a great chance and hope, though never a guarantee, for the security of the Polish state – stated Przemysław Czarnek on Radio Wnet.

11:43

Zgorzelski Sets Deadline for PSL Decision on Confidence Vote for the Government
- The parliamentary club meeting has just concluded, and in its conclusion, it adopted a resolution authorizing the PSL chairman to conduct work on a new coalition agreement and a new coalition strategy. The next club meeting, which will be held on Monday, will make the final decision regarding the political event that is known to all of us – stated Piotr Zgorzelski at a press conference in the Sejm.

11:44

Kosiniak-Kamysz on Trzaskowski's Involvement in Coalition Negotiations:

It's Worthwhile for Him to Be a Subject of These Talks.
- I see that today there are so many voices searching for who, what failed, but Rafał Trzaskowski is also the custodian of those over 10 million votes, and it's worthwhile for him to be a subject in our talks about the future of the coalition, not left aside – stated Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz at a press conference in the Sejm.

11:44

Kosiniak-Kamysz:

We Need More Cooperation in the Coalition, Not Emphasis on Differences
- We are in favour of this coalition's revitalization, a renewal that is always needed after such an event, happening very dynamically. I would also like to declare cooperation with the newly elected president on behalf of the Polish People's Party (PSL), based on the national interest of the Republic of Poland – he said at a press conference in the Sejm.

- We need more cooperation in the coalition, not more emphasis on differences. It did not lead us to success when everyone emphasized their differences, but this cooperation must be very systematic, based on the individuality of each of the groups, because without any of our parties, there is no chance of renewing the relationships we have – he continued.

11:49

Kosiniak-Kamysz:

We Did Not Overburden President Duda; It's Time for President Nawrocki to Immediately Receive a Package of Bills
- We respond to President Nawrocki with a will to cooperate, because 10 million voted for the government, 10 million for President Nawrocki, and the role of the government, in my opinion not only of the PSL but of the entire government, is to come out with an offer of what we can do together. We did not overburden President Duda; I think it's time for a package to be immediately placed on President Nawrocki's desk, which he will be able to accept, which he will have a chance to sign – he said at a press conference in the Sejm.

11:49

Kosiniak-Kamysz:

We Want the Coalition to Continue
- This is an obvious matter, we want the coalition to continue, but we have time for a good conversation, so I think the results of this cooperation will be interesting. We do not want to make, and there is no reason to make [a change in the Prime Minister's position] – he stated at a press conference in the Sejm.

12:13

Trzaskowski’s First Address After the Elections:

The Power and Energy Flowing from Polish Women and Men Motivates Me to Continue Hard Work.
- Before we talk about Plac Centralny, I want to thank all Polish women and men once again for every vote cast for me in the presidential elections. I want to thank you again for the thousands, if not tens of thousands, of meetings and handshakes. Thank you all very much – said Rafał Trzaskowski during a press conference at Plac Centralny in Warsaw. - Of course, I especially want to thank the women and men of Warsaw, because the turnout in Warsaw was unprecedented, as was the number of votes cast for me. So, thank you very much – he continued. - Moreover, the power and energy flowing from Polish women and men, and particularly from the women and men of Warsaw, as I am the Mayor of the Capital City of Warsaw, motivates me to continue my hard work. And today, in a sense, is another chapter for the Capital City of Warsaw, because we are opening Plac Centralny, which – I hope – will be the green heart of Warsaw – he indicated.

12:19

Hołownia Publishes List of Points Before Coalition Meeting:

To Work, or in Two Years, Premier Czarnek Will Sit Down for This Conversation with Minister Mentzen.
- Tomorrow is a coalition meeting, so I will present this to the leaders - wrote Szymon Hołownia on social media. 1. Government reconstruction and renewal within the coalition now, not in July. A promise has been made - there is no reason to delay. 2. The coalition must commit to a list of reforms that it will implement as quickly as possible. Our package includes 5 changes that are key for Poles: a law on the depoliticization of TVP, a law on personal assistance for people with disabilities, an anti-couvade law, immediate unblocking of funds for affordable housing and removal of subsidies for housing loans from the list of works, and a law prohibiting smartphones in primary schools. 3. The smallest government in Europe in one of the largest European countries is cheap populism, but the Polish government should be leaner. Why do we need a minister for floods from last year? Why are there 7 deputy ministers in the ministries? 4. A new coalition agreement before the government adopts the budget bill. Our plans must be backed by figures. - To work, or in two years, Premier Czarnek will sit down for this conversation with Minister Mentzen - he emphasized.

12:23

Trzaskowski on the Campaign:

My Wife and I Gave Absolutely Everything.
- It's not for me to judge the election campaign. I think there will be plenty of experts who will assess this campaign. My wife and I gave absolutely everything - said Rafał Trzaskowski during a press conference at Plac Centralny in Warsaw.

12:27

Trzaskowski asked if he regrets premature joy after the exit poll:

The results were what they were, so we rejoiced and thanked everyone.
- The results were what they were, and therefore we rejoiced and thanked all of Poland. I stand by it: we thank everyone who cast their vote for me - said Rafał Trzaskowski during a press conference at Plac Centralny in Warsaw, responding to a question about whether he regrets premature joy after the announcement of the exit poll results.

12:31

Trzaskowski:

I will speak with Tusk today
- I will of course speak with the Prime Minister, and that will be today - said Rafał Trzaskowski during a press conference on Central Square in Warsaw.

12:40

Trzaskowski:

The fact that young people voted the way they did is a matter we must all consider
- Certainly, the conclusion you are referring to, meaning that young people voted the way they did, is definitely a matter that we all must and can consider – said Rafał Trzaskowski during a press conference on Central Square in Warsaw. - Especially I, because I am an academic lecturer, we organize Campus Polska Przyszłości, so I truly have contact with young people, and we will certainly draw conclusions from this, not only in the context of my campaign, but in general in the context of how politics is changing – he continued.

12:47

Trzaskowski Asked if He Has Grievances with His Campaign Team:

Politics Isn’t About Holding Grudges or Complaining About Anyone.
- Politics isn’t about holding grudges or having complaints against anyone. You simply have to stand firm, draw conclusions, and move forward. […] You have observed me for the last 8 months; I have a truly strong character and, above all, I always look ahead – said Rafał Trzaskowski during a press conference at Central Square in Warsaw, when asked if he harbored any resentment towards his campaign team.

12:51

Trzaskowski:

The Coalition is Doing Well. A Vote of Confidence is Coming Soon – I am Convinced It Will Be Defended
- The coalition is doing well. A vote of confidence is coming soon – I am convinced it will be defended. Both the coalition and all of us are simply moving forward and will be implementing the plans we all have – said Rafał Trzaskowski during a press conference on Plac Centralny in Warsaw.

12:52

Prominent Athlete Joins Mentzen's Party:

He Supported My Campaign, We Decided We Want to Continue Cooperating.
- I am delighted to announce that our World and European Champion, Marcin Możdżonek, has become a new member of Nowa Nadzieja, the party forming Confederation. He is joining Nowa Nadzieja today and will be responsible for our Warmian-Masurian region - Sławomir Mentzen said at a press conference. - I met Marcin 5 years ago during a "Beer with Mentzen" event in Olsztyn [...] then we met regularly for many years, discussing politics [...] to my great delight, this spring Marcin Możdżonek decided to get involved in my presidential campaign. He attended rallies, supported me during this campaign, and after the campaign, we sat down for further talks and decided we wanted to continue working together - he continued. - A consequence of my actions and my plans for post-athletic career, for my retirement from sports, is entering politics. The natural path for me was to join Sławomir Mentzen, Konfederacja, and most importantly, Nowa Nadzieja. Joining a faction where one can feel comfortable, with which my worldview aligns, and where I am treated as an equal partner - said Marcin Możdżonek. - I already have considerable experience; I am a local government official, a councilor of the Municipal Council in Olsztyn - he continued.

12:56

Meeting on a Technical Government? Mentzen: It's Solely a PiS Stunt We Don't Intend to Participate In
- Earlier, both Jarosław Kaczyński and the PiS spokesperson indicated that there is nothing to discuss, and since there is nothing to discuss, then what is the point of this meeting? It is all and solely a PiS stunt in which we do not intend to participate - said Sławomir Mentzen at a press conference, when asked if anyone from Konfederacja would attend the meeting regarding a technical government. - There are no specifics, there is no content, there is no majority that would make it possible to establish such a government - he continued.

13:02

Mentzen:

Not a Vote of Confidence for Tusk's Government, But a Vote of No Confidence in His Coalition Partners
- This is not a vote of confidence for Donald Tusk's government, but rather a vote of no confidence in his coalition partners. He is testing them, wanting to put an end to all the internal squabbles, wanting to cut short various kinds of negotiations, because now everyone will want to negotiate for themselves, and he will cut them short with this very vote of confidence – said Sławomir Mentzen at a press conference, when asked what he thought about the vote of confidence requested by Prime Minister Donald Tusk and how Konfederacja would vote on the matter.

13:03

Trzaskowski Asked About Kamiński's Statements:

Please Excuse Me from Commenting on Such Words.
- Please excuse me from commenting on such words. I have always refrained from commenting on negative remarks, and why should I? - said Rafał Trzaskowski during a press conference at Plac Centralny in Warsaw, when asked about the words of his coalition partner, who spoke of "dancing at one's own funeral." - I think that today is truly a moment when we all need a bit of reflection, consolidation, and very hard work - he added.

13:19

PiS MP Joins Braun's Faction, New Parliamentary Club Formed in the Sejm
A parliamentary club of Konfederacja Korony Polskiej has been formed in the Sejm, announced MEP Grzegorz Braun on X. The club consists of three MPs. Two of them (Roman Fritz and Włodzimierz Skalik) are already members of Braun's party. Several months ago, both left the Konfederacja club and had been unaffiliated since then. Sławomir Zawiślak, on the other hand, was previously an MP for PiS and has been serving in the Sejm since 2005.

13:58

Sejm Debates Presidential Draft Amendments to the Constitution. Paprocka: Poles Support Defense Spending
The aim of the project is to establish a norm at the level of the fundamental law, mandating that no less than 4% of GDP be allocated annually in the budget act for financing the defense needs of the Republic of Poland. The draft includes a transitional provision indicating that this norm would apply as early as the budget for 2026 – stated Małgorzata Paprocka in the Sejm. It is worth leveraging the political consensus that exists around defense issues and defense spending in this context, while simultaneously, or primarily, also supported by the stance of public opinion, which has never questioned these expenditures. Absolutely, Poles support these expenditures, taking responsibility for the security system in our country – she continued.

14:20

Ziobro:

This is the End for Tusk, His Fate is Sealed. He Broke the Law with Cold Blood
The lost presidential elections mean the end of Donald Tusk. He is already sinking, but in desperation he will still thrash about, incite, and bite, but his fate is already sealed. He broke the law with cold blood, committed numerous criminal offenses, driven by an ideological fervor of a fighting democracy, but above all by a cold, calculated party interest, starting with the unlawful, violent takeover of public media, TVP, then the illegal usurpation of the National Prosecutor's Office, and the paralysis of constitutional bodies of the Polish state, such as the Constitutional Tribunal and the National Council of the Judiciary – stated Zbigniew Ziobro at a press conference.

14:23

Błaszczak Repeats Appeal to Governing Coalition Politicians:

The Proposal for a Technical Government Remains on the Table. Don't Be Afraid of Tusk!
"Tusk's coalition partners missed the opportunity to escape political oblivion, which they are being pushed into by remaining with this team. Fear of Tusk and the prospect of losing their seats proved stronger" - wrote Mariusz Błaszczak on X.

"From a political pragmatist's standpoint, it is more beneficial to wait two years until this government loses its remaining support, and some parties disappear entirely. But this is not about calculations – we care about Poland. That is why we proposed a non-partisan technical government that would lead to elections in 2027, because that is what Poles expect. This proposal is still on the table" - he continued.

"I will repeat my appeal to all politicians from this coalition – don't be afraid of Tusk! Poland is more important!" - he emphasized in his post.

14:32

Ziobro:

We Want Every Judge, Prosecutor, and Officer to Consider if It's Worth Being Exploited
- We are not interested in pursuing or seeking responsibility from everyone who has been caught in these mills of accountability and used by Donald Tusk in the final months of his government. Our aim is for every judge, every prosecutor, every officer of this or any other service to consider whether it is worthwhile to be exploited, harnessed to these mills of injustice and lawlessness that Donald Tusk is announcing - stated Zbigniew Ziobro at a press conference. - If this happens, if such engagement takes place, then inevitable responsibility will also follow, which is already on the horizon. The clock isn't ticking, the clock is already accelerating significantly, and time will increasingly reveal the total bankruptcy of Donald Tusk's project - he continued.

17:09

"Just for the liberal-left clique to get their man." Duda on unlocking KPO: Suddenly, it turned out everything is alright
- After which Mrs. von der Leyen received a draft amendment to the Supreme Court act from me, because we are constantly discussing the Supreme Court, not the judiciary, because the common courts were practically untouched during the 8 years of the Law and Justice (ZP) government. There was a reform, but Minister Ziobro never really presented this reform for acceptance at the government level, and it never entered parliament, which I regret, but that’s a completely different matter - stated President Andrzej Duda on Radio Wnet. - Regarding changes to the Supreme Court, I proposed these changes, I was invited by the President of the European Commission to Brussels immediately after I returned from the opening of the Olympic Games in Beijing. I had such a marathon that I practically only changed my clothes at the airport, got on a plane, and flew directly from Beijing to Brussels, and I spoke with her there because, a few days earlier, I had submitted a draft amendment to the Supreme Court as a presidential project. I presented this project, and this project contained changes that were not as far-reaching as some in the EC expected, but they were introduced partly within the limits that I considered institutionally possible - he continued. - She agreed to these solutions in principle, and then they were analyzed. I presented these changes to her, I explained everything, it took quite a long time, I spoke with her for several hours, then these changes were analyzed, and there was an agreement from the EC, which was later changed, and as a result, funds from the KPO were not disbursed. And now I will tell you the best part – for them to be disbursed and for everything to be fine, all it took was for the government in Poland to change, all it took was for Donald Tusk to create a coalition that took power in Poland, removed the ZP from power in this way, and suddenly it turned out that everything was fine - PAD emphasized. - It was enough for the liberal-left clique to get their man from their camp, who is the prime minister here and who is therefore a guarantor of their interests in the Republic of Poland, and that is already sufficient proof to stop any intervention - he said.

Duda:

I Can Call My Relationship with Trzaskowski Collegial. But of Course, in the Election, I Supported Nawrocki, Who is Ideologically Close to Me
- Of course, I am aware that my colleague Rafał Trzaskowski, the Mayor of Warsaw, has political and worldview views that differ significantly from mine. That's no secret. But I believe we live in a democratic country, and one is free to hold any views they wish - said President Andrzej Duda on Radio Wnet. - We know each other, Mr. President, Rafał Trzaskowski. We have spoken several times, even for a long time once, during this term, after our electoral clash in 2020. I can confidently say that we have a relationship that is fully based on mutual respect, let's call it collegial. It's not as if I'm waging some kind of war in politics, at least not from my perspective. We treated each other completely normally - he stated. As he emphasized: - However, of course, given that it is an office of a political nature, extremely important for the future of the state, [...] it was clear that I supported the candidate who was ideologically close to me, in terms of his vision for Poland's development, what Poland should be, and how its affairs should be conducted. It's no secret that I felt closer to Karol Nawrocki.

17:26

Duda:

The President Must Choose His Own Team. I Will Not Try to Suggest Anything to Nawrocki
- I told President Karol Nawrocki: Mr. President, I will absolutely not even try to suggest anything to you, nor impose anything, especially in terms of personnel. After 10 years, I have a deep conviction that every president must choose their own team, and no one should impose anything on them, because the matter is too serious - said President Andrzej Duda on Radio Wnet. - Ministers represent the president. If a minister goes to the media, they must, or should, say what the president says. It is a fundamental issue for the Palace to speak with one voice and for the representation of the president to be truly reliable - he continued. - If he wanted to use anyone from those people who worked with me, I have nothing against it. […] They have experience in politics and working in the presidential office. But it will be the decision of the new president, and solely that - he indicated.

17:34

Duda:

Accusations, arrests, forced entry into institutions - Poles have held this accountable; Tusk received a red card
- The election campaign is a difficult time, especially when the competition is truly fierce. Donald Tusk fought, in my opinion, for the survival of the political line he adopted from the very beginning… in 2023 - an aggressive political line - said President Andrzej Duda on Radio Wnet.

- Let me remind you: accusations, arrests, forced entry into public institutions, public media, the headquarters of the National Prosecutor. Breaking the law, brutal actions, in short. I think this is precisely what Poles held accountable on Sunday; this policy received a red card. I understand that it has shaken him, but not deterred him - he stated.

17:35

"Two Gentlemen of Retirement Age": Duda on Kaczyński and Tusk, and the Rising Young Generation
- In reality, Donald Tusk, in terms of personal ambition, is only fighting with Jarosław Kaczyński. It's all about stripping Kaczyński of power, to once again show that he is stronger and that he will defeat him – stated President Andrzej Duda on Radio Wnet. - As long as these two gentlemen of retirement age are at the top of Polish politics, we will have this problem, but I hope that the young generation is rising dynamically – he continued.

17:37

Duda:

It Was Tusk Who Lost These Elections in the Final Stretch
- The fact is that Donald Tusk actually lost these elections in the final stretch, as he completely overshadowed the candidate of his party, Rafał Trzaskowski, with his campaign over the last two weeks. Trzaskowski traveled around Poland and some photos appeared, but the main speaker, the voice of the campaign conducted by Civic Platform (PO), was Donald Tusk - stated President Andrzej Duda on Radio Wnet.

17:40

Duda:

Many intelligent people, supporters of the United Right, claimed TVP under Kurski was simply unwatchable
- Indeed, on various specific matters, such as appointments to various positions, including the CEO of TVP, Jarosław Kaczyński and I had a significant difference of opinion, because I did not accept the formula and the way Jacek Kurski managed TVP's affairs, which, as many intelligent people I spoke with, supporters of the United Right camp, claimed, was simply unwatchable - stated President Andrzej Duda on Radio Wnet.

17:40

Duda:

Poles Have Repeatedly Stemmed the Tide of Persecution and Incitement Politics. Now It Has Happened Even Faster Than I Expected
- I was a bit surprised by this aggressive policy [of Donald Tusk]. Because I believed that Poles do not like such a policy. Poles have repeatedly stemmed the tide of such aggressive politics of persecution, arrest, and incitement. It has already happened that politicians learned this, often painfully, by losing elections - said President Andrzej Duda on Radio Wnet. - I was convinced that sooner or later this would also become apparent. It turned out, to be honest, even faster than I expected - he stated.

17:45

Kaczyński:

The Personality Advantage of Our Candidate Was Probably Quite Striking
- The victory is, counting Poland alone, half a million votes, and if we add the abroad votes, it's by 367 thousand votes, I believe, but this is under conditions of an extremely unequal campaign, when the other side had the firepower, I'll use a military comparison, of at least a division, and we had the firepower of at most a battalion, and a battalion wins, that's truly a success - said Jarosław Kaczyński in "Anita Gargas's Magazine". - The enormous advantage of that firepower [...] I spoke about that division and battalion, it determined that it was difficult, because the personality advantage of our candidate, despite less political experience [...] was probably quite strikingly apparent. Meanwhile, they can employ various disgraceful ventures - he continued.

17:48

Duda:

Tusk knows that if he tried to rig these elections, 10 million people could take to the streets
- It was not without reason that I appealed to my compatriots to participate in the elections en masse. [...] People have chosen, 10.6 million voted for Karol Nawrocki. Prime Minister Tusk, I think, also knows that people might get a little upset if he tried to rig these elections and try to ensure that the president could not take office. I think he should consider that 10 million people might take to the streets then – and he might not survive that - said President Andrzej Duda on Radio Wnet.

17:53

Kaczyński:

NASK's Disgrace Likely Didn't Significantly Impact the Vote Because the Name 'NASK' Isn't Widely Known
- Was the NASK disgrace understood more broadly, because these mechanisms for defending against abuses on the internet and other abuses in this so-called electronic sphere are something that most citizens don't have advanced awareness of - said Jarosław Kaczyński in "Anita Gargas's Magazine," when asked about the impact of the illegal financing of the get-out-the-vote campaign and NASK's disgrace on the election results. - It probably didn't have that much of an impact because the name "NASK" isn't widely known. However, the fact that we are dealing with outside intervention certainly influenced the patriotic part of society, whereas the other part, let's call it less patriotic or differently patriotic, probably didn't pay much attention to it - he continued.

17:53

Kaczyński on Snus:

It Was Probably the Toughest Moment of the Campaign, Much Tougher Than All Those Accusations, Fairy Tales, Complete Nonsense.
- It certainly [snus] was probably the toughest moment of the campaign, much tougher than all those accusations, those fairy tales, complete nonsense. I don't want to elaborate on this topic, why a person who was not tested 3 times, but 5 times, scrutinized, because 3 times by the services and 2 times by the media, who at all costs wanted to destroy him as a candidate, then as a museum director, and then as the head of the IPN - stated Jarosław Kaczyński in a conversation with Anita Gargas on YouTube. - However, here for many people who didn't know, and I belonged to them too, what this snus is, it could have been truly very misleading, especially for the older generation, and many people associated it with some kind of drug - he continued.

17:53

Duda:

Confidence Vote Will Be Held When Tusk Counts the Votes. He's Quite Adept at That.
- Donald Tusk is a very experienced politician. The first thing that came to mind and what I said to my colleagues when these sentences about the confidence vote were uttered was: the confidence vote will be held when Donald Tusk is sure of support. When he counts the votes, precisely [laughter]. He's quite adept at that - said President Andrzej Duda on Radio Wnet.

17:57

A Brilliant Idea, an Element in Popular Culture, an Element of Our Victory. Kaczyński on Zorro
- The idea of this gentleman [Zorro], who entered onto that roof, and furthermore, felt quite well on a wet roof, so he must be agile, was truly brilliant and, I daresay, it was certainly an element in the sphere of popular culture, an element of our victory, because this victory was also a victory on the internet, in a sphere that is not inherently political, but plays a very significant role in politics - stated Jarosław Kaczyński in a conversation with Anita Gargas on YouTube.

17:59

Kaczyński on allegations of pimping against Nawrocki:

It was a complete disgrace, an embarrassment.
- The studio apartment was the subject of public attention for a while, but I think that ended relatively quickly, and what was done later with these much worse accusations was a complete disgrace, an embarrassment – stated Jarosław Kaczyński in an interview with Anita Gargas.

- Please remember that this 'patocelebryta' [a term for a controversial public figure often associated with vulgarity or scandal] wasn't talking about what he himself knew, but only about what another, also arguably a 'patocelebryta', told him. Furthermore, it's unclear, it's unclear if he [the other person] said it. I am by no means claiming it happened, but that is what Mr. Murański said. If the Prime Minister is referring to something like this, it means things are already very bad – he continued.

18:02

Duda:

Tusk Rarely Tells the Truth. Let Him Not Complain That the President is Blocking Government and Parliament Work
- In my opinion, he rarely tells the truth [Donald Tusk]. We should rather talk about when he tells the truth, not when he doesn't. […] In the 10 years I have been president, I have never had so few results from the work of the government and parliament on my desk as there are at the moment. Let the Prime Minister not complain that the president is blocking things, because he has a lot of opportunities to act that the president is not blocking, as he has no competence to do so - said President Andrzej Duda on Radio Wnet.

18:12

Kaczyński:

Ordinary people are often wiser than the educated. They don't complicate things, they see the government shamelessly implementing the German agenda
- A good description, but please remember [...] very many times ordinary people, those who generally work at markets, meaning not necessarily educated, because sometimes the term "ordinary person" is perceived as something that disqualifies or lowers their standing [...] are simply wiser than those who have more years of education, because God simply gave it to them - said Jarosław Kaczyński in "Anita Gargas's Magazine," when asked if the "Poland-Germany match" is a good description of the elections (the host of the program mentioned that she encountered such a description at a market). - Furthermore, they think about certain issues simply, they don't complicate them, they don't apply various kinds of rationalizations, and as a result, they see how things are, they see that the German agenda is simply being implemented in Poland at the moment by this government, and one could say shamelessly. Shamelessly implemented, because surely all those large development projects that have been halted were against German interests - he continued. "If we want to develop, some conflict with Germany is unavoidable" - Here we are indeed dealing with a Poland-Germany match, Poland has won for now, but we must keep winning, because if we want to develop, some conflict with Germany is unavoidable - the PiS leader continued.

18:13

Kaczyński on Forming a Technical Government:

We Don't Rule Out Supporting PO Itself.
- At this moment, we have submitted this proposal, which is optimal at this time, namely a technical government, because such a government [would be] if it managed to be formed and gain broad support. We do not even rule out supporting PO itself, although we know that it would be very difficult – said Jarosław Kaczyński in an interview with Anita Gargas.

18:16

Duda:

A Reckoning for the Judiciary is Necessary, Starting from 1989
- I will state immediately what will need to be done if an honest and reliable government ever returns to Poland - unfortunately, we will have to take, sum up, and conduct a reckoning of the judicial status in Poland, but starting from 1989. And all judges who were implicated in communism should have their retirement benefits revoked, if they are still alive. Simply put, their judicial careers must be ended, abruptly terminated - President Andrzej Duda said on Radio Wnet. - They never deserved it, they were never truly, especially those who belonged to the Polish United Workers' Party (PZPR), independent judges of the Republic. Today, this community is trying to treat judges appointed in the last 10 years worse than judges from the PRL era, [...] many of whom issued verdicts based on martial law regulations, sentencing opposition members to long prison terms. And whom they did not verify after 1989, because as Mr. Strzembosz said: the judiciary and the judicial community will cleanse itself. Nothing has been cleansed - he continued.

18:29

Kaczyński Comments on Tusk's Words About "Governing Alongside a President Trying to Block Changes". He Speaks of "Executing a Coup d'état"
- That was an arrogant statement, but it upholds the principles they call fighting democracy, which in essence is the execution of everything described by Article 147 of the Penal Code [most likely the PiS leader meant Article 127], meaning a coup d'état, changing the system by force - Jarosław Kaczyński said on Anita Gargas's Magazine, when asked about Prime Minister Donald Tusk's words: "if necessary, [the government] will govern and make decisions alongside a president trying to block good changes. We already have experience." - If so, if these coalition partners [...] also want to bear the risk associated with this kind of action, if they do not notice the change that has occurred in the United States, but has also occurred in Europe, then the consequences, from their point of view, are, or at least should be, obvious, but that is their decision. I am counting on their common sense, and perhaps even on some, as I would say, friendly attitude towards Poland, despite everything - he continued.

18:36

Kaczyński on Early Elections and Tusk's Attempt at Consolidation:

All Options Are Open at This Moment.
- At this moment, all options are open. One thing is clear - the response to Tusk's defeat is an attempt at consolidation, and if you were in our environment daily, you would hear more than once, from various people, but also from me, that this is a very probable reaction to defeat - stated Jarosław Kaczyński in an interview with Anita Gargas on YouTube.

18:49

Kaczyński Thanks Stanowski:

He Played a Good Role in These Elections.
- Mr. Stanowski played a really good role in these elections because he showed the unseriousness of everything that is currently happening in Poland, and this unseriousness burdens, to a great extent, this government – stated Jarosław Kaczyński in an interview with Anita Gargas.
