President Duda Declares National Mourning on the Day of the Pope’s Funeral:

Requires Prime Minister’s Counter-Signature.

– President Andrzej Duda, along with First Lady Agata Kornhauser-Duda, will attend the funeral of Pope Francis – informed Wojciech Kolarski at a press conference.

As indicated by the Head of the International Policy Bureau of the Presidential Chancellery: – In connection with the death of the Holy Father, President Andrzej Duda has decided to declare April 26th, the day of the funeral, a day of national mourning. […] This presidential decree requires the Prime Minister’s counter-signature, and such a document will shortly be transmitted by the Head of the Chancellery, Minister Małgorzata Paprocka, to the Prime Minister’s Chancellery.

– The national mourning, which will last exactly one day from midnight to midnight on April 26th, does not introduce any restrictions on the events being prepared in connection with the celebrations of the 1000th anniversary of Bolesław the Brave’s coronation – he added.
