At 10:30 AM, Prime Minister Donald Tusk will meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. A delegation meeting is scheduled for 11:20 AM, followed by a press conference at 12:40 PM.

A government session is planned for 4:00 PM, during which the Minister of Finance will present a bill amending the tax ordinance. Apart from current affairs, this is the only item on the session's agenda.

At 6:00 PM, a New Year's reception hosted by President Andrzej Duda and his wife Agata Kornhauser-Duda for the diplomatic corps will take place at the Presidential Palace. The President is scheduled to deliver a speech.

On Wednesday, Szymon Hołownia is expected to issue a resolution regarding the announcement of the presidential elections, in line with his earlier statement. It is already known that the elections will be held on May 18, but the formal launch of the election campaign will occur upon the publication of the Marshal of the Sejm's resolution.

Karol Nawrocki will be in the Wielkopolska Voivodeship on Wednesday. At 11:00 AM, the candidate supported by PiS will visit the Ogórecki company in Karszew. A meeting with local government officials is scheduled for 12:00 PM in Koło. A press conference will commence at 1:00 PM in Turek.

A press conference by Karol Nawrocki is scheduled for 4:15 PM at the Pleszewskie Centrum Medyczne, and at 6:00 PM, there will be a meeting with the candidate in Kalisz.

At 12:30 PM, a press conference will be held by the leader of PiS, Jarosław Kaczyński, the Chairman of the PiS parliamentary club, Mariusz Błaszczak, and MEP Patryk Jaki.

– For a dozen or so prosecutors, disciplinary proceedings or preparatory proceedings concerning criminal liability are already underway, while the report will result in over 30 further notifications concerning either criminal offenses or disciplinary offenses – said Adam Bodnar in “Rozmowa Piaseckiego” on TVN24.

– When you read this report, at the end there is often a suggestion that further official proceedings will be conducted in this matter – he continued.

– We have prepared a strategy that we are implementing. We are in the second stage of implementing this strategy. There are 5 stages, and we will also implement it during the election campaign. It will be a campaign close to the people, which is why Dr. Nawrocki will be in Greater Poland today for meetings with Poles. It will be a campaign focused on people's issues, and tomorrow there will be an important address on transatlantic policy in parliament, at a meeting organized by the PiS parliamentary club with the diplomatic corps in Poland. We have specifics for every day – stated Paweł Szefernaker in an interview with Marcin Fijołek on Polsat News' "Graffiti".

– I think this report confirms that […] that from 2016 to 2023, there was a kind of protective umbrella from the prosecution over various investigations or actions that could have had a negative impact on Law and Justice politicians – stated Adam Bodnar on TVN24.

– First and foremost, these significant losses in the polls for PO and PO Vice-Chairman Rafał Trzaskowski are due to something. They are not due to bad weather, as Minister Siemoniak says, or the fact that the days are shorter now, because I've heard such a statement. They are due to the fact that we have the worst government in 30 years – stated Paweł Szefernaker on Polsat News' "Graffiti".

– After a year of the government of the December 13th coalition, we have a situation where nearly 60% of Poles negatively assess the government and the Prime Minister's actions. After a year in power, of unfulfilled promises – he continued.

– These drops for Civic Platform (PO) in the polls and for the PO Vice-Chairman Rafał Trzaskowski really represent a black week for Tusk, a black week. In my opinion, Poles have shed their illusions regarding this government. Hence these results, but we will humbly work and strive for every Polish vote – stated Paweł Szefernaker in Polsat News's "Graffiti".

– For now, this report is based on the analysis of cases that were transferred to the National Public Prosecutor's Office, and this team of prosecutors analyzed all these files. Now will be the next stage of the explanatory proceedings, meaning these individuals will, of course, be summoned as witnesses, as prosecutors suspected of wrongdoing, and questioned about what happened in these cases – Adam Bodnar said on TVN24.

– This is a group of several dozen people [covered by the explanatory proceedings] – he continued.

– In the event of charges being brought, there is a possibility of suspending a prosecutor. I have already, as Prosecutor General, suspended four prosecutors against whom various charges have been brought, concerning, in short, the manipulation of investigations. Therefore, I think this process will simply continue – he added.

– First and foremost, the Polish Prime Minister spoke a few days ago about some kind of breakthrough, and we do not know the details of this breakthrough concerning Volhynia. Dr. Nawrocki, as the President of the Institute of National Remembrance (IPN), has for years been advocating for these exhumations on sacred Polish soil, where over 100,000 Poles perished, to take place, and we will continue to advocate for this – stated Paweł Szefernaker in "Graffiti" on Polsat News.

– I believe that this report will also result in lawsuits against the State Treasury concerning individuals who feel wronged by the prosecutor's office's actions – said Adam Bodnar on TVN24.

– [The public fundraiser] will be possible to support from the end of next week, more or less, when the committee is registered, there will be an account, a specific account for the electoral committee of Karol Nawrocki's voters. We will run the kind of campaign we can afford – stated Paweł Szefernaker on Polsat News's "Graffiti".

– This article [in Newsweek] surprised me because such a conversation did not take place – Adam Bodnar said on TVN24, when asked about an ultimatum he allegedly received from Donald Tusk regarding accountability measures (either they speed up, or Roman Giertych will become deputy minister).

– I don't need to hear that [that it's too slow, too weak, too gentle], because I am perfectly aware myself that accountability is an important matter – he continued.

– I believe that accountability must move forward, but in accordance with all procedures, because the worst thing that could happen is that certain actions are taken which later get stuck somewhere in the courts or the prosecutor's office is caught on some procedural errors, and it turns into one big joke, not a serious process of accountability – he went on to say.

– I think within PO, because polls indicate that if a candidate were to be replaced, it would only happen there, but I will tell you more. Our strategy anticipates that we are ready for this move by PO [candidate replacement] – stated Paweł Szefernaker in "Graffiti" on Polsat News.

– Yesterday, I sent a letter to Marshal Hołownia, because it turns out, and the prosecutor's office has verified this, that Mr. Romanowski is still registered as a candidate and Polish delegate to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe – Adam Bodnar stated on TVN24.

– Even in this situation, we are in procedures where Marshal Hołownia must decide whether he will indeed be part of this delegation. The question arises as to how he intends to fulfill this delegate mandate, given that he fled to Hungary – he continued.

– I sent a letter to the Hungarian Minister of Justice asking about the stage of proceedings regarding the European Arrest Warrant [for Marcin Romanowski]. So far, I have no response – Adam Bodnar said on TVN24.

– We will use all possibilities offered by the European Arrest Warrant procedure and we will also try to cooperate with the Council of the European Union and the European Commission so as not to simply let this matter go and to indicate that this decision by the Hungarian government is unauthorized – he continued.

– I think that, despite everything, we should still use these chances and these dozen or so weeks that we have… there is Marshal Hołownia’s project, and I also know that the Polish People's Party is thinking about various solutions – Adam Bodnar said on TVN24, when asked about the recognition of the validity of the presidential elections.

– However, I would like to appeal to Mr. President, so that Mr. President also takes on part of the responsibility for not pretending that there is no problem, because that makes no sense – he continued.

– If Mr. President were to declare that he is ready to talk about seeking a solution, and in my opinion, a solution can be found within the framework of the currently existing structure of the Supreme Court that would lead to a change, then I think such a discussion is also needed – he went on to say.

– I would like to appeal to Mr. President once again, because if Mr. President comes up with a solution, saying: okay, listen, we are looking for a way to resolve the validity of the elections so that it is optimal from the perspective of my interests, and as I understand it, the President’s political interest is not to question the status of the so-called neo-judges, and on the other hand, so that public opinion has a guarantee that the resolution is made by the Supreme Court, with a composition that no one doubts, then I think it would be very good for public opinion – he added.

– Then it would provide a guarantee that such a law would ultimately be signed by the President – he emphasized.

– My opinion is that we cannot suddenly claim that the Chamber of Extraordinary Review and Public Affairs is a court – Adam Bodnar stated on TVN24, when asked whether, if nothing changes and the validity of the elections has to be acknowledged by the Chamber of Extraordinary Review of the Supreme Court, he is then in favour of the ruling coalition accepting the decision of this chamber as binding.

– I believe that in such a situation, the decision will still rest with Marshal Hołownia regarding how to proceed and whether to accept the oath from the new president – he continued.

– I know, but it seems to me that in this situation, if Mr. Marshal Hołownia has to confront the election results and the opinion citizens have expressed about who should be the new president, he will primarily be a statesman, and I have no doubt about that. He will do what is good for the Polish nation – he went on to say, after being pointed out that Marshal Hołownia is directly interested in the matter, because if the elections were not deemed valid, he would become the acting president.

– This chance [of bringing Sebastian M. to Poland, who fled to the UAE after allegedly causing a fatal accident on the A1] has significantly increased since the court of first instance in the United Arab Emirates ruled that there are no obstacles. We received this decision, we were informed on Friday, and this is a gigantic, major breakthrough in this case. Therefore, I expect that Mr. Sebastian will soon return to his homeland and begin serving his pre-trial detention – said Adam Bodnar on TVN24.

– There is a 30-day period for appeal there. I assume that the courts in the Emirates operate quite efficiently in such matters, so I think this is a matter of rather a few months, perhaps 2, 3, 4 months – he continued.

– It is worth remembering that exhumations took place in Ukraine, they were carried out in Volhynia. The Law and Justice party (PiS) led to a change in the law, which was provocative towards Ukrainians. Paweł Kukiz was likely the main driving force behind it, and Ukrainians felt offended. These are very difficult relations – stated Sławomir Nitras in an interview with RMF FM.

– Of course, [Ukrainians did not make these relations easier], but it is very important that politicians meet on both sides who are focused on reaching an agreement, finding a solution, rather than seeking their own benefits, for example, political ones by inciting one group against another. I believe that a process lies ahead of us, one that we were close to at the beginning of the war, a process of seeking agreement and understanding. Exhumations are very important; they are a condition from our side that is not even up for discussion. I believe that an agreement will be reached, leading to both exhumations and Ukrainian apologies for Volhynia – he continued.

– The National Stadium is the home of the Polish national team. I was bothered by this announcement, from which, fortunately, the authorities of the Polish Football Association distanced themselves, talking about some press releases – said Sławomir Nitras on RMF FM.

– I believe there were also mistakes on the stadium's side in these negotiations. I spoke with the stadium authorities and said very clearly that our intention is that the national team's matches always have priority. We do not make money off the Polish national team; the National Stadium is not for making money off the Polish national team – he added.

– There is no candidate who is more in the center, more centrist, more seeking common ground than President Rafał Trzaskowski. From the perspective of Mr. Nawrocki, who demands in Poland and says himself that he wants to toughen [abortion law] in relation to what we have, he said so, then indeed everyone may seem left-wing. Rafał Trzaskowski, President Rafał Trzaskowski is the most moderate, centrist candidate imaginable – stated Sławomir Nitras on RMF FM.

– Rafał Trzaskowski is a person who is moderate by nature, seeking arguments in everyone, he is not a radical like Mr. Nawrocki, and I think that is his advantage, and in the end, it may turn out to be his greatest advantage – he added.

– I think we will see this [a woman in the Ministry of Sport leadership] sooner than you think. These are coalition and prime ministerial decisions, they are not solely my decisions, but the Prime Minister knows my determination on this matter, and we will decide on this more quickly in the future – Sławomir Nitras said on RMF FM.

– We care about health education. This is a very important project for the Ministry of Sport as well, because a larger component there is physical activity, an awareness of how important movement is for youth and children, I'm talking about the scope. If we had a choice between this subject becoming a subject of internal dispute and not coming into effect, or it coming into effect under certain conditions, treating it as a step in the right direction, then what were we supposed to do – stated Sławomir Nitras on RMF FM.

– It's worth mentioning that President Zelensky requested a meeting with President Rafał Trzaskowski today, and on behalf of Ukraine, he will recognize and thank Warsaw for its assistance during the war, both to Ukrainians, the Ukrainian state, and Kyiv – stated Sławomir Nitras on RMF FM.

The Marshal of the Sejm, Szymon Hołownia, has published the content of the decree on calling presidential elections.

– We are finding common ground and a method for joint action regarding the Volhynian crime and these sensitive, dramatic issues in our history. They require empathy from Ukraine towards Poland and from Poland towards Ukraine. This must be parallel. I will not allow this difficult, dramatic history to be used for political games in Poland, but I will also very consistently work towards a swift and systemic solution to this problem – stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk at a press conference with President Zelensky.

– I don’t recall any conversation on this topic with Mr. Ziobro at all – said Jarosław Kaczyński at a press conference, when asked about yesterday’s prosecutor’s report, the Two Towers case, and what he discussed with Zbigniew Ziobro, then Prosecutor General, between Birgfellner’s first and second testimonies.

– I spoke with Zbigniew Ziobro many times back then […] I visited his office perhaps not very often, he visited mine much more frequently, but I was there on many occasions. Pure coincidence, and regarding this matter, of course, there should have been criminal proceedings, but in relation to that gentleman, and also in relation to that gentleman who is the defense attorney – he continued.

– These latest pieces of information, I cannot go into detail, but I can confirm the validity of these concerns, that Russia was also planning acts of aerial terror, and not just against Poland, but against airlines worldwide – stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk at a press conference with President Zelensky.

– This document, which was prepared by the currently ruling party and recently presented, a large document, 300 pages, is, to put it briefly, proof that this entire story about gigantic abuses, about 150 billion [zloty], because that's the sum Tusk mentioned, is simply one gigantic and brazen fairy tale, intended to mislead the entire society – said Jarosław Kaczyński at a press conference.

– Years ago, I spoke with President Poroshenko and told him directly that you must reject certain things, because if these matters are not resolved, it closes the door to the great Western organizations – said Jarosław Kaczyński at a press conference, when asked if Ukraine's membership in the EU and NATO is a matter of state interest, or if, like Karol Nawrocki, he cannot imagine Ukraine in these communities without accountability for the Volhynia massacre.

– I said this, I repeat, many years ago in the Sejm building, there was a long conversation, Mr. Poroshenko was a bit upset by it, but my view has not changed here. A state that is in these structures must be unambiguous when it comes to genocide – he continued.

– No independent state can accept genocide against its own citizens – he added.

– Today, I am ready to work together with the President for full NATO guarantees, security guarantees after the end of hostilities, and then Poland will be, one way or another, part of these guarantees as a NATO member – stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk at a press conference with President Zelensky.

– If, for example, we had that money, then a grand convention, like the one Mr. Trzaskowski had, would probably take place soon, only I think it would be incomparably better in quality and with a much better speech […] however, we cannot do it, we simply do not have the funds for it and these are not fair elections – said Jarosław Kaczyński at a press conference.

– When it comes to the current Prime Minister, how can you say he's a man of the rule of law? He's a man who doesn't accept it, doesn't understand it… so here there's a huge cultural deficit related to various things that he has no control over – said Jarosław Kaczyński at a press conference.

– If I wanted to join a basketball team or, for example, compete in the high jump at the Olympics, it's not up to me that I am the way I am, but it's better that I don't go. It's the same with governing; people should govern who have the appropriate qualifications for it, including these cultural ones – he continued.

– There is a principle in law that if something is perfectly clear, it is not subject to discussion. This principle should be applied here, as the chairman, […] Judge Marciniak, also mentioned, and this is the only answer for this unfortunate gentleman who, at Tusk's whim, must constantly evade the performance of his obvious legal duty – said Jarosław Kaczyński at a press conference.

– I hope, and I am deeply convinced, that someday this will have to end up in court, and personally, I have nothing against this gentleman, I just pity him – he continued.

– Regarding the justification for Mr. Romanowski's current stay [...] in Hungary, from the perspective of Polish and international law, it is entirely justified, due to the absolute lack of guarantees [...] of an impartial process. [...] We see no reason not to send our Member of Parliament [Romanowski] to the [Parliamentary Assembly] of the Council of Europe – stated Jarosław Kaczyński at a press conference.

– There will be no other candidate, besides, I don't really see legal grounds for Mr. Marshal [Hołownia] to agree or disagree – he continued.

– Regarding the abortion compromise, it is a legal state created by a ruling. We respect the rulings of the Constitutional Tribunal, and therefore, a simple return to that compromise from '93 cannot happen at this moment – Jarosław Kaczyński stated at a press conference.

– It must be something else. I believe that is what Dr. [name implied] and President Karol Nawrocki meant; there are simply certain legal limitations, but nevertheless, in my opinion, we must strive to have this matter somehow calmed down, with one assumption: that abortion is an evil – he continued.

– Poland's support is very important to us. We should move forward in our relations, look forward. Our ministries of culture, responsible for the relevant issues, are already working, and I am pleased that they are developing materials. From what I have heard from them, we are constantly moving forward on all matters. We should move forward together; we are neighbors, and the biggest threat is Russia, and this is the threat of today. We should do everything to strengthen our cooperation, our alliance – stated the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, at a press conference.

– At the upcoming NATO summit, there can no longer be any doubt about how much each state must contribute to defense. There is no more time for pretense from those states that pay 1% or 1.5% of their income for defense. This is no longer acceptable, so, instead of guessing President Trump's plans, let's take seriously the commitments of each NATO state – stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk at a press conference.

– I have no doubts, if European states rise to the occasion, then perhaps Washington's perspective will also change. We have all the cards in our hands for America to start thinking of Europe again as a desired ally and partner, not a burden. On one matter, we must all agree with President Trump: no one will solve our security problem for us anymore – he continued.

– I was glad to welcome President Zelensky in Warsaw. Glad, because we see the President often; not so long ago, just before Christmas, we were together in Brussels participating in a discussion about support for Ukraine, the situation in Ukraine, to which the President was invited, along with a group of NATO leaders – stated President Andrzej Duda at a press conference with President Zelensky.

– I assured the President of my ongoing mission in this regard, concerning the support for Ukraine. I would like to recall that in February 2022, immediately after the Russian aggression against Ukraine, I initiated a letter from a number of Central European leaders to the European Commission calling for the accession negotiations to be opened as soon as possible – he continued.

– I hope that today, too, all the tasks that still lie ahead of Ukraine, in connection with Ukraine's full accession to the EU, will be completed as soon as possible – emphasized PAD.

“For Poland, building strong relations between the European Union and the United States is one of the priorities. Today, I discussed this with the former US Ambassador to Poland, Georgette Mosbacher. – The President is responsible for everyday matters, and a situation where the President of the Republic of Poland becomes the Vice-Chairman of Civic Platform, whose chairman is the Prime Minister, is by no means a situation where the citizens of the Polish state will fall into a clear party and political mechanism. Therefore, I want to present myself to you as the sole guarantee of your voice in the Presidential Palace and as a person who will not hesitate to veto bad laws – said Karol Nawrocki at a meeting with residents of Kalisz.

– The current Polish state budget is prepared for 8 months. – Health education, absolutely yes, but without any ideologies, and the basis for this is also the parents' decision – he added.

– I will also be working in the Sejm, because that's what I was appointed to do. As long as it's possible [I will divide my work between the Sejm and the campaign], because there will likely be a moment when I'll have to take leave. But it is also a constitutional responsibility, fulfilling this office – said Szymon Hołownia on TVN24's "Kropka nad i" (Dot over the i).

– Parents, based on the Constitution, are responsible for the upbringing of their children; they have the right to decide. And if [health education] becomes an optional subject, I also hope for the best version, one that focuses on health and education, parents have the right to decide. Truly, let’s not take away constitutional principles – said Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz on TVP Info.

– Those who demonstrated, including myself, all of us who demonstrated and held the Constitution in our hands, let’s abide by this Constitution, not only when we are in opposition, but primarily when we govern – he continued.

– First and foremost, I will appeal for [financial] support to those who believe that such an independent president is needed in Poland. But also, as I understand, the Poland 2050 party will support me by contributing to the election fund. These are the funds we are considering – said Szymon Hołownia in the TVN24 program 'Kropka nad i'.

– I think [the PSL] may also contribute. However, we are not putting this matter on the knife's edge today. […] Yes [I spoke with the PSL leader], all possibilities are open. […] This option is also open – he continued.

– No, I don't agree with everything [Prime Minister Donald Tusk]. For instance, with the idea that high-speed trains should stop in Kalisz. For instance, with the notion that it shouldn't be the case that we invest 15 billion PLN in the 'Y-line', meaning this high-speed rail for the wealthiest people in metropolises, while taking 9 billion for regional railways. This is a very important matter – said Szymon Hołownia in the "Kropka nad i" program on TVN24.

– I do not agree that we have not yet resolved the depoliticization of State Treasury companies. I do not agree that we still don't have, because it's frozen again in committee, the approved health contribution for 2026 – he listed.

– We argue in this coalition, and we will continue to argue – he added.

– I think that in this health education – and I say this also as a father of a child who has just started school […] – there are many very necessary elements: addiction prevention, obesity prevention, psychological prevention. These modules should be, in my assessment, mandatory – said Szymon Hołownia in TVN24's "Kropka nad i" program.

– However, let the module that causes the most controversy, the sexual education module, be voluntary – he assessed.

– I believe this was a premature decision. The government unnecessarily allowed itself to be provoked by President Duda, who was clearly aiming for a diplomatic spat. Prime Minister Netanyahu was not planning to come, therefore, there is no issue – said Szymon Hołownia on TVN24’s “Kropka nad i.”

– In Auschwitz, Israel should have been represented by the president. If he cannot – and he cannot – and it was announced that the Minister of Education would represent Israel, then we should have ended the matter there – he stated.

– He is no longer receiving them. Since [Marcin Romanowski] renounced his remuneration, he has not been receiving money. And he will not receive his allowance because he is not fulfilling his duties on the territory of the Republic of Poland. – This is the first case of a Member of Parliament, perhaps since the 18th century, since the Confederation of Targowica, who flees under the protection of a foreign government because he dislikes his own government. This is simply treason – he assessed.
