Świeczkowski on His Letter:

There's Already One Response from a Judicial Authority Representative.

- I sent a letter to all those I mentioned. Its content is very similar, so we have published only one of these letters, but all of them have already been sent - stated Bogdan Świeczkowski in "Graffiti" on Polsat News.

- There has already been one return response from a judicial authority representative, whereas I am awaiting return responses from legislative and executive authority representatives - he continued.

- It's the pre-holiday period, there are holidays, I understand that politicians need to think, to talk. I believe these responses will come after the holidays rather than before. [I received a response] from the Supreme Court (SN) - emphasized the President of the Constitutional Tribunal.

08:39

Święczkowski on Constitutional Tribunal Judge Appointments:

This is the area for compromise.

- There is no such possibility. At the moment, there are 12 legally appointed judges serving in the Constitutional Tribunal, and there are 3 vacant judge positions that should be filled. Candidates for these judges should be selected by the Polish Sejm. Next year, another 2 judge positions will become vacant. I believe this is precisely the area for compromise. I encourage the legislative branch to select these new judges - stated Bogdan Święczkowski in "Graffiti" on Polsat News.

08:50

Bosak on butter prices:

We shouldn't pull the wool over people's eyes and tell them the government has influence over everything.
- Unfortunately, no - said Krzysztof Bosak in an interview with Bogdan Rymanowski on the program "Gość Radia ZET," when asked if government intervention would lower butter prices. - This intervention is definitely too small in scale [...]. Secondly, it does not remove the causes of high prices, which are rising butter consumption worldwide and, on the other hand, milk shortages, from which butter is produced - he continued. - I'm not sure if a minister has influence over this, I believe we shouldn't pull the wool over people's eyes and tell them the government has influence over everything. Currently, this is an area delegated to the European Union [...]. I will not pull the wool over anyone's eyes by saying we will regulate prices - he further stated, when asked what he would do about butter prices if he were the Minister of Agriculture or Prime Minister.

08:52

Święczkowski:

Currently, only legally elected judges are adjudicating in the Constitutional Tribunal

- This stage of the dispute, the constitutional crisis from 2015, has long passed. Currently, only legally elected judges are adjudicating in the Constitutional Tribunal. To be a judge of the Constitutional Tribunal, three aspects must be met. One must be elected as a judge by the Polish parliament, one must take an oath before the president, and one must appear and take office in the Constitutional Tribunal – stated Bogdan Święczkowski on Polsat News's "Graffiti" program.

08:56

Bosak:

The National Electoral Commission and the Minister of Finance are Breaking the Law
- The recent action by the National Electoral Commission [...] is, in my assessment, a violation of the law. The electoral commission has no basis to choose which Supreme Court rulings it will accept and which it will not - said Krzysztof Bosak on Radio ZET. - The situation where the National Electoral Commission accepts a Supreme Court ruling favorable to my party, but does not accept one favorable to PiS, is an insult to common sense and an insult to any logic and the rule of law - he continued. - There is no such procedure [for postponing a decision], this is a violation of the Constitution and the Electoral Code. [...] Postponement sounds wise, but there is no such procedure. [...] Furthermore, the Minister of Finance has no basis to withhold the payment of money at this time - he went on to say. - This is simply an excuse for breaking the law [the Minister of Finance saying he is acting based on the National Electoral Commission's decision]. The National Electoral Commission is breaking the law, the minister is breaking the law - he added.

08:56

Does the Senate Want to Participate in an Obvious Violation of the Constitution? Święczkowski Announces Letter to Kidawa-Błońska

- Today I wanted to inform you that I will be sending a letter to Marshal Kidawa-Błońska asking her to reconsider whether the Polish Senate wishes to participate in such an obvious violation of the Constitution and laws, meaning the restriction of the Constitutional Tribunal's ability to function - stated Bogdan Święczkowski on Polsat News's "Graffiti".

09:00

Święczkowski on the Pegasus Committee:

I Won't Show Up to the Meetings of This Group of People Over Coffee.

- On September 10, 2024, the Constitutional Tribunal ruled that the resolution establishing this [Pegasus] inquiry committee was adopted in violation of a number of constitutional provisions, and therefore, this resolution has lost its binding force. So, at the moment, we do not have a Pegasus committee - stated Bogdan Święczkowski on Polsat News' "Graffiti".

- The Polish Sejm had 4 months to adopt a new resolution establishing this committee. I will obviously not show up to the meetings of this group of people over coffee - the President of the Constitutional Tribunal continued.

09:00

Bosak on Lack of Funds for PiS:

If a Candidate Linked to the Ruling Majority Wins the Election, the Result Can Be Challenged.
- The current ruling majority and its representatives are acting very unwisely, because if a candidate linked to them wins these presidential elections, the result can be challenged based on the cutting off of campaign financing for competitors - said Krzysztof Bosak on Radio ZET.

- This could simply deprive the future president of legitimacy, that these elections were fair and equal - he continued.

09:07

Bosak on Hołownia's Proposal Regarding Election Validity:

Submitting Own Ideas Is Anarchy.
- We look at the laws and read what is written in them. If the law indicates that the Chamber of Extraordinary Control and Public Affairs is responsible for these matters, then we abide by the law. That is the essence of the rule of law [...]. Submitting one's own ideas is anarchy - said Krzysztof Bosak on Radio ZET, when asked about Szymon Hołownia's proposal for the entire Supreme Court to decide on the validity of elections, rather than just the chamber of control. - Anyone who proposes solutions other than those written into legally enacted laws causes the state to become anarchic - he continued.

09:11

Bosak on Siekierski and the Minister of Agriculture Position:

At This Moment, We Need Someone Younger, More Dynamic.
- I have to somewhat agree with Mr. Kołodziejczak here. My impression from the very beginning was that [...] I was surprised that Prime Minister Tusk decided on such a Minister of Agriculture - said Krzysztof Bosak on Radio ZET. - I know Minister Siekierski [...] I consider him a likeable, calm, experienced politician. However, I believe the challenges are so great that even if Minister Siekierski had no flaws, at this moment we need someone younger, more dynamic, capable of firm management and tough negotiation - he continued.

09:14

Kalisz:

I am convinced the elections will be held and we will be able to swear in the President of the Republic of Poland

- I am convinced that the National Electoral Commission will conduct the elections for the office of the President of the Republic of Poland, especially those elections that will take place in 2025 – stated Ryszard Kalisz on TOK FM.

- The elections will be held and we will elect a president, I am convinced that we will be able to swear him in – he added.

09:15

Kalisz:

No Need for Legal Changes Before Presidential Election, No Such Possibility Exists

- There is no need [to implement legal changes before the presidential election], because there is no such possibility, as the President unfortunately does not want to sign laws concerning the Supreme Court and the judiciary in general, because he considers himself the author of all these changes, which were largely unconstitutional - said Ryszard Kalisz on TOK FM.

09:16

Bosak on Leaving the EU:

Moving Towards Action Without Public Support Is Completely Hopeless.
- I believe we should consider it, however, without public support, moving towards any action is completely hopeless - said Krzysztof Bosak in Radio ZET, when asked if Konfederacja would not put forward such a postulate until polls show Poles' desire to leave the EU.

09:17

Kalisz on the Extraordinary Review and Public Affairs Chamber:

It Doesn't Exist Because It's a Special Court, and the Constitution Forbids It.

- The Electoral Code, which regulates the conduct of presidential elections, refers to the Supreme Court at two points. Later, the constitution, and by extension the Electoral Code, refers to the Supreme Court a third time in the case of the validity [of the elections] - stated Ryszard Kalisz on TOK FM.

- Secondly, this type of chamber, which is indicated only in the Act on the Supreme Court, does not exist because it is a special court, and the constitution forbids special courts - he added.

09:20

Kalisz on the Presidential Election:

Everything can be done, we cannot yield to dictates of unconstitutionality.

- The issue with Ms. Manowska [if she directs all matters to the Chamber of Extraordinary Control and Public Affairs]. Everything can be done, we truly cannot yield to dictates of unconstitutionality – stated Ryszard Kalisz on TOK FM.

09:22

Bosak on Romanowski:

I Consider the Entire Matter of Arrest, Wanted Notice, etc., Highly Absurd.
- I consider the entire matter of arrest, wanted notice, etc., to be highly absurd. I believe this is one of those situations where there's an attempt to abuse arrest procedures [...] it's a case [of Marcin Romanowski] where everything is already known [...] the charge of tampering is so profoundly delayed that it is entirely unserious - said Krzysztof Bosak on Radio ZET. - We should be having a first-instance court hearing right now, not an arrest proceeding - he continued.

09:34

PiS Files Criminal Complaint Against Members of the National Electoral Commission and the Minister of Finance
- A criminal complaint has been filed regarding the potential commission of a crime by five gentlemen: Mr. Balicki, who was nominated by Civic Platform, Składowski, also nominated by Civic Platform, Mr. Klisi, who was nominated by PSL, Mr. Gieras, who was nominated by Marshal Hołownia's party, and Mr. Kalisz, who was nominated by The Left - Mariusz Błaszczak stated at a press conference. - The criminal complaint has been filed against these five gentlemen, but also against the Minister of Finance, Domański, due to his failure to release the due financial resources to Law and Justice - he continued.

09:42

Complaint to the Voivodeship Administrative Court, Dialogue with the Venice Commission, and an Appeal to the Marshal of the Sejm. PiS Announces Actions Following the National Electoral Commission's Decision
- Our next activity is to submit a motion to the Chairman of the National Electoral Commission, Judge Marciniak, a motion to enforce the Supreme Court's ruling – Mariusz Błaszczak said at a press conference. - Our next activity is a complaint about the National Electoral Commission's inaction to the Voivodeship Administrative Court – he continued. - Given that the Venice Commission [...] is interested in the matter concerning the rule of law in our country, we will also approach the Venice Commission [...] in this dialogue, we will present our arguments regarding the violation of law, regarding the proceedings of the National Electoral Commission – he went on to say. - The last point is an appeal to the Marshal of the Sejm, Szymon Hołownia, asking him to submit a motion to the President of the Republic of Poland to dismiss five gentlemen from the National Electoral Commission – he added.

09:46

Nawrocki on the Morning in Minkowice:

Two Who Wanted to Take Poles' Security Away.

- It is worth remembering and emphasizing that when the Polish government was fighting for the security of not only border houses but also the Polish state, we witnessed in Polish public life a theatre directed by Alexander Lukashenko, Belarusian and Russian services – a tragicomedy, in which people chosen by the votes of Poles, Polish MPs and public figures, played a role in a spectacle directed by Alexander Lukashenko - stated Karol Nawrocki in Minkowice.

- And two actors in this tragicomic theatre are also today among those who want to take away Poles' ability to choose a civic candidate for the office of president. I am talking about two individuals who wanted to take Poles' security away. It is worth remembering this - he continued.

10:02

Acting President's Office to be Assumed by the Marshal; SN Act to be Changed. Kalisz on Potential Presidential Election Invalidity

- An chamber that does not exist cannot determine [the validity of elections], I repeat, if Ms. Manowska is sent, a chamber that does not exist cannot determine it – stated Ryszard Kalisz on TOK FM.

- Formally, it will come to August 6th, and the constitutional provision clearly states that in the event of the president's office becoming vacant, the Marshal of the Sejm takes over his role, and on the other hand, a provision of the Electoral Code states that if the Marshal takes over the role, they have 14 days to call new elections, but until then, they can change the [Supreme Court] Act – he continued.

10:03

Kosiniak-Kamysz:

We Want to Sign a Security Cooperation Agreement with Canada for 2025-2026

- Thank you for Canada's commitment, the presence of Canadian soldiers is very important to us. Cooperation between the Polish army and the Canadian army is very good – stated Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz at a press conference.

- We want to sign an agreement on enhancing our skills and cooperation for the years 2025-2026, precisely outlining what Canada and Poland can do together in the field of security – he continued.

'Our Stance is Unambiguous'. Kosiniak-Kamysz on Polish-Canadian Support for Ukraine

- We have an unambiguous stance regarding support for Ukraine. Ukraine has been fighting for almost 3 years, and from the very beginning, Prime Minister Trudeau was one of those Western leaders who immediately declared far-reaching assistance, and Canada has been involved from the outset – he emphasized.

10:10

Time to Apologize to Polish Soldiers and Officers. Nawrocki's Message to the Government
I am very pleased that the current government, after learning its lesson, a lesson of awareness that their predecessors reacted in a dynamic, thoughtful way that gave us a sense of security, has also joined Operation Tarcza Wschód (East Shield) and is continuing the efforts undertaken by the PiS government and the United Right. This is a very good signal for all of us, because security should obviously unite us; it should not have party or political colors – stated Karol Nawrocki in Minkowice. - However, it is worth noting that those who demonstrated against the construction of the barrier at the time should learn one more lesson and finally apologize to Polish soldiers and officers for all the words that were spoken in the public sphere – emphasized the presidential candidate. - Dear ladies and gentlemen, esteemed ladies and gentlemen, dear government, it is time to apologize to the Polish soldier and the Polish officer for all that you said in the summer of 2021 – he added.

10:13

Nawrocki:

I am for unilateral termination of the migration pact

- The migration pact must be unilaterally terminated. As a civic candidate for President of the Republic of Poland, as the future President of the Republic of Poland, I guarantee you that I am for the unilateral termination of the migration pact - stated Karol Nawrocki in Minkowice.

- We are all waiting for a national, civic referendum on the issue of illegal migration. I have personally signed the petition to organize such a referendum. Poles have the right to feel and have the duty, and the Polish state has the duty to guarantee the safety of Polish citizens - he continued.

10:19

"I Hope PiS and the President Change Their Minds." Tusk on "Regaining Control Over Poland’s Borders"
We are regaining control over Poland’s borders! The government will adopt new rules regarding visas and asylum applications today. Asylum law will no longer be used for illegal border crossings into Poland. I hope that PiS and the President will change their minds and not block the law – Prime Minister Donald Tusk wrote on social media.

10:31

Nawrocki:

We are in Deep Judicial Chaos

- As a citizen, I am concerned that we are descending into chaos in our Poland, in the Republic of Poland. We are in a situation where Article 7 of the Constitution on the rule of law is regularly being violated, and subsequent articles of the Constitution seem to be violated every week - stated Karol Nawrocki in Minkowice.

- Now, these public declarations, the non-recognition of Supreme Court and Constitutional Tribunal rulings – this is what Poland is living through today, showing that we are in the greatest judicial chaos that I, as a 41-year-old person, have had to live through. We are in deep judicial chaos - he continued.

10:42

Hołownia on the Sejm considering opposition's bills:

This is a new standard I am trying to adhere to.

- At this session, and I'm drawing attention to this, we have as many as 3 bills submitted by the opposition. Two bills from Konfederacja, one from PiS. This is the new standard I am trying to adhere to, that at every session there is at least one opposition bill, and if for some reasons it's not possible, as we had a budget Sejm recently, then there are more at the next one - stated Szymon Hołownia at a press conference in the Sejm.

10:46

Hołownia Appeals for Order:

The NCEC's Resolution is Dramatic in its Tone

- The NCEC's resolution is dramatic in its tone. This means the NCEC states that it is unable to conduct the election and pre-election process because it lacks a partner in the form of the Supreme Court, which it must, and they must always work in tandem, the NCEC and the Supreme Court, because that is what the legislator intended, a partner on the other side. And it doesn't know what to do - stated Szymon Hołownia at a press conference in the Sejm.

- I appeal to politicians to sort this out, because it is politicians who should decide how the judiciary in Poland is structured, on what foundations it is supported. This is a cry of despair - the Marshal of the Sejm continued.

- If we don't do something about this now, which the NCEC is signaling to us, in six months we will wake up with our hand in the constitutional chamber pot, in a few months - he said.

10:49

Hołownia Proposes Solution for Election Validity and Announces Talks with President and Prime Minister

- The solution I would like to propose, and which I hope to discuss with the President and the Prime Minister in the coming days, is a draft law that would designate the entire Supreme Court, all its judges, as those who can and should make decisions regarding the validity of the President of the Republic of Poland's elections - stated Szymon Hołownia at a press conference in the Sejm.

10:50

Mentzen Proposes a Constitutional Reset:

You've Set Poland Ablaze with Gasoline and Are Playing with Matches.
For the sake of the rule of law, you are currently denying people the actual right to a court. I wonder if you will recognize the potential presidential elections only if Rafał Trzaskowski wins. Therefore, we are once again submitting a proposal for a constitutional reset, so that with a constitutional majority, we can jointly elect new judges of the Constitutional Tribunal, the Supreme Court, and members of the National Council of the Judiciary, to end this chaos, to end this anarchy – stated Sławomir Mentzen in the Sejm. You have set Poland ablaze with gasoline and are playing with matches; this is extremely dangerous. So far, Germany and Russia have generally benefited from the chaos and anarchy in Poland. Consider whose interests you are serving, because it is certainly not in the interests of Poland and Poles – he continued.

11:07

PiS Files No-Confidence Motion Against Wieczorek:

We're Helping Tusk in His Weakness.
- We are filing a motion of no-confidence for the Minister of Science, Dariusz Wieczorek, and in reality, we are asking what else needs to be done to be dismissed from this cabinet, how bad a minister you have to be, and how many scandals you need to initiate for Donald Tusk to even decide on any action - Łukasz Schreiber said at a press conference. - We are dealing, first of all, with the politicization of science on an unprecedented scale, an invasion of party activists into research institutes, and not just from Lewica, because I want this to be clear. There are activists from Platforma, PSL, from Mr. Hołownia's party, and finally Lewica, which is why they are defending him - he continued. - A week without a scandal is, one might say, a wasted week. [...] We held back with this motion [...] because we believed that the minister would simply be dismissed. Today, we see his desperate attempt at defense - he went on to say. - Since Mr. Donald Tusk is such a weak prime minister in this coalition that he cannot control this, we are filing a motion of no-confidence and asking Mr. Speaker Hołownia [...] so that we can consider it at the nearest Sejm sessions - said Przemysław Czarnek. - I think the strength of the arguments contained in this motion will cause Mr. Tusk to overcome Mr. Czarzasty's resistance and they will dismiss Mr. Minister Wieczorek, because they will not want to discuss these overwhelming arguments with us in the Sejm chamber. That's why I say we are helping Tusk in his weakness, we'll see how it turns out - he continued.

11:08

Kaczyński on Romanowski:

I Don't Know if He's Hiding, or if, for Example, the Authorities Are Pretending He's Hiding.

- Of course, I don't know [where Marcin Romanowski is] - stated Jarosław Kaczyński in a conversation with journalists in the Sejm.

- I don't know at all if he's hiding, or if, for example, the authorities are pretending he's hiding - he continued.

13:14

Kosiniak-Kamysz on the preliminary readiness of the Patriot system:

This is a historic moment.
"This is truly a historic moment, a great moment for the operational capabilities of the Polish Army. I am very happy that we are here together with the Ambassador and General Marciniak. We are here today to announce a milestone in building our air defense system. A moment ago, I received a report from the commander of the 37th Air Defense Missile Squadron regarding the preliminary readiness of the Wisła system and its integration with the IBIS system, which is the entire operational brain of the Wisła air defense system," stated Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz at a press conference.

13:15

Kosiniak-Kamysz:

Many military orders wouldn't have been achieved without the personal commitment of the US Ambassador

- Thank you, Mr. Ambassador, as this is our next meeting. I have been Minister of National Defence for a year, and you have been the Ambassador [of the USA to Poland] for much longer. This mission has had immense significance for Poland, as it falls during the most difficult trial, aid to Ukraine, and a direct threat to security and freedom, which is a shared sensitivity and, in fact, the greatest value that Poland and the United States will care about – said Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz at a press conference.

- Many of these orders would not have been achieved, and I want to state this very clearly, if not for the personal commitment of Mr. Ambassador as well – he added.

13:58

Trzaskowski on the Conclusion of the Visa Scandal Investigative Committee's Work:

I Hope There Will Be Referrals to the Prosecutor's Office.

- I hope there will be referrals to the prosecutor's office because this is something unbelievable. On the one hand, PiS demonized refugees, attacked them, and also attacked us, yet they did not effectively secure the border – said Rafał Trzaskowski in a conversation with journalists.

- In a corruption procedure, as everything indicates, visas were handed out. This is an example of PiS's behavior, a kind of extreme hypocrisy. They say one thing, they do another, but the most important thing is that those who participated in the corruption procedure, which weakened our state's security, should face deserved punishment – he continued.

14:01

Trzaskowski:

Compare butter prices from the start of PiS rule to today, and you'll see who is responsible

- I would prefer Karol Nawrocki to ask what the NBP President, President Glapiński, was up to, who significantly contributed to this unbelievable inflation that has driven up butter prices over the last few years. Please compare the prices of butter from the beginning of PiS rule to today, and you will see how this price has increased and who is responsible for it – stated Rafał Trzaskowski in an interview with journalists.

14:02

Trzaskowski Reacts to Siewiera's Words on the Smolensk Catastrophe:

I'm Glad the Head of BBN is Sensible.

- I am very glad that the head of the National Security Bureau (BBN) is sensible, this should reassure all of us – stated Rafał Trzaskowski in a conversation with journalists.

- This cynical game played by PiS politicians around this catastrophe, which was a catastrophe for all of us, because we lost friends there, has been a display of extreme cynicism over the past few years. I am glad that there are officials in the President's Palace who do not succumb to this type of conspiracy theories and simply maintain basic sobriety of mind – he continued.

14:03

Trzaskowski:

Governor Glapiński Isn't Lowering Interest Rates Because He Wants to Influence Politics at PiS's Behest
I hope that the new president, if I were to become him, will strive for the National Bank of Poland to be neutral, because it cannot be that the governor makes decisions dictated by politicians – said Rafał Trzaskowski in a conversation with journalists. Why are interest rates not being lowered at this moment, even though all experts say this is a good time for it? Precisely because of this, so that loans are more expensive, so that investments stop, because the governor wants to influence politics at the behest of PiS – he added.

14:26

Prosecutor on Romanowski:

We Have Information That He Crossed the Border and is Staying in an EU Country.
Today, the prosecutor filed a request with the District Court in Warsaw to initiate a search with a European Arrest Warrant (ENA) for Marcin Romanowski. This decision was prompted by the fact that the nationwide search initiated on December 12th of this year, last week, proved unsuccessful, and we have not yet established the suspect's whereabouts within the country – stated Przemysław Nowak at a press briefing.

We have obtained information that suggests he has crossed the border and is staying in one of the EU countries. This suspicion was sufficient for us to submit a request to the court for an ENA – continued the spokesperson for the National Prosecutor's Office.

14:42

Tusk on Stricter Asylum Law and PiS's Reaction:

I Was in Shock.

- The key question now is whether there will be a majority and whether President Duda will not veto it. As you recall, when I first announced this readiness to tighten asylum law, the reactions from the PiS opposition and the president were not encouraging - stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk in Warsaw.

- I was actually in shock when I heard the words of those who brought hundreds of thousands of people to Poland, who allowed themselves to be controlled by mafias smuggling illegal migrants, and then in the Sejm I heard them complaining, grumbling that asylum law should continue to be applied as it was during their time. There is no question of that - he continued.

14:44

Tusk Confirms Adoption of Regulation Regarding TVN
We have adopted a regulation, by virtue of which into the list, the register of entities subject to protection, we are talking about companies that are subject to protection when someone wants to buy them, this list was quite substantial, we have added companies like Cyfrowy Polsat, P4, TVN, Polsat Television, T-Mobile, and WB Electronics to this list – stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk in Warsaw.

14:46

Tusk:

Kaczyński will again mumble something about the Tusk regime

- I have further reasons, following further conversations with various leaders from this part of Europe, I have further reasons to believe that the intentions of those who have waged these various hybrid wars against Poland were serious, truly serious - stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk in Warsaw.

- I know that not everyone will like this, that someone will again, Kaczyński will again mumble something about the Tusk regime, etc., but in reality, I think none of us, and I believe the PiS opposition too, would want media outlets, operators, or private companies crucial for energy or defense to end up in the hands of enemies of the Polish state - he continued.

14:52

Tusk:

No One Can Guarantee a Significant Drop in Butter Prices

- No one can guarantee that butter prices will drop significantly, although this is quite a massive intervention. However, we have a justified hope and, in my opinion, a justified expectation that it will certainly make things more difficult for potential speculators, and butter should not be more expensive before the holidays. We want to protect all families in this way using the tools at our disposal - stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk in Warsaw.

14:53

Tusk:

Flawed Supreme Court Verdicts to be Annotated

- We also adopted a government resolution. It directly concerns the issue of Supreme Court and Constitutional Tribunal verdicts. In accordance with this resolution and current practice, we have lacked sufficient time to thoroughly analyze what to do with Supreme Court verdicts, especially when those who, according to Polish law and the Constitution, should not be sitting there are making rulings. Supreme Court verdict publications will always be accompanied by such an annotation whenever they are flawed from the perspective of the Constitution and Polish law, so that every reader will know that, in accordance with the Sejm's resolution concerning the Constitutional Tribunal, and the government's resolution concerning the Supreme Court, this situation, institution, or its verdicts are flawed from the perspective of the Polish state - stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk in Warsaw.

14:54

Tusk on Hołownia's Proposal:

A Valuable Idea.

- I also welcomed Marshal Hołownia's initiative with great satisfaction. I spoke with him before our meeting at the airport, and it seems to be a valuable idea and a valuable initiative to enact such a law incidentally. I hope that Marshal Hołownia will convince President Duda of this. I am okay with this idea. This incidental law would help avoid any doubts after the presidential elections - stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk in Warsaw.

15:08

Sejm on the Visa Scandal Inquiry Committee: Sowa States Wawrzyk's Lists and Kobos' Scandal Are Just the Tip of the Iceberg
- The actions of the PiS government contributed to the uncontrolled influx of migrants holding Polish visas. A corruption-prone system operated within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, allowing for visa processing while bypassing established procedures. PiS politicians were aware of this practice, its scale, and migration patterns, yet they failed to take any action to prevent the situation - stated Marek Sowa during the Sejm deliberations, presenting the report of the inquiry committee on the visa scandal. Nearly Half of EU Work Visas Issued in Poland - Between 2019 and 2023, Poland issued 2,000,872 national work visas, representing 47.7% of all such visas in the European Union. Almost half of these visas were issued by Polish consular missions. Legislative changes were intended to create a visa factory. The visa issuance system was gradually dismantled - he continued. - Wawrzyk's lists and the Kobos scandal are merely the tip of the iceberg. The report of the committee documents and describes many more corruption-prone activities. [...] Poland was perceived as a country with the most open and liberal visa policy in the Schengen area, which negatively impacted Poland's international image - he further elaborated. Referrals to the Prosecutor's Office - The committee has filed referrals to the prosecutor's office regarding potential criminal offenses. These referrals concern 11 individuals. The most extensive referral, spanning 80 pages with over 600 pages of attachments, pertains to Zbigniew Rau, who bears the greatest responsibility for what transpired within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs - he added. - Furthermore, three referrals concern directors within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. [...] another set of referrals relates to the Poland.Business Harbour program, and this referral includes Minister Zbigniew Rau, Mateusz Morawiecki, Jadwiga Emilewicz and Justyna Orłowska, Mariusz Kamiński and Andrzej Stróżny for their failure to act despite possessing knowledge [...] as well as Lech Kołakowski and his associate [...] that's a whole separate story - he noted. Complaint to the National Prosecutor - The committee [...] has filed a complaint with the National Prosecutor. The purpose of this complaint is to investigate the legality and correctness of the oversight of the Central Anticorruption Bureau, which carried out activities in this matter - he emphasized.

Milewski:

After This Year, We Know There Was No Visa Scandal. There Was a Visa Lie
- After this year, we know there was no visa scandal. There was your visa lie. [...] You accepted a report that did not fulfill the basic points, the basic tasks, that the esteemed Sejm, this chamber, imposed on the parliamentary investigation committee - said Daniel Milewski during the Sejm deliberations. - We were supposed to determine the number and identity of individuals who illegally crossed the border of the Republic of Poland or whose stay in the territory of the Republic of Poland was legalized as a result of abuses, negligence, and omissions of the government administration. Show us one name [...] of one person for whom an illegal visa was issued - he continued. "Tusk Told Fairy Tales" - Not 300 names, not 300,000 names of Tusk's alleged migrants. I say Tusk's because he was the one who talked about it. The man who is today the Prime Minister of the Republic told fairy tales. [...] If you show that one name, then show the person who issued that visa - he went on to say.

16:01

Szrot:

Claims of Hundreds of Thousands Entering on Illegal Visas and Visas Sold at African Markets are Outright Nonsense
- These claims, loudly made from the highest levels, about hundreds of thousands of foreigners entering on illegal visas, about those visas allegedly being sold at African markets, are all outright nonsense. Even this lame commission showed it, although it's not in the report – said Paweł Szrot during a Sejm session. - Regarding this small drop of truth [...] if 300, a bit more, visas raise doubts, then that's 300 too many. This matter should be investigated properly. The commission did not do that – he continued.

Szefernaker on Nawrocki's Meeting:

Some People Couldn't Fit in the Hall.

- Wednesday, midday, a week before Christmas. Karol Nawrocki was scheduled to meet with the Rural Women's Circles (KGW), and so many residents turned up for the meeting! Some people couldn't fit in the hall. Thank you for being with us! There's power! - wrote Paweł Szefernaker on social media.

16:16

Konieczny:

Poland Had No Migration Policy But Developed a Huge Migration Business
- Everything was done haphazardly. Poland issued hundreds of thousands of work visas almost automatically, consulates were overloaded, and no one controlled what happened to people who received Polish work visas afterwards. A Polish visa quickly became one of the easiest ways to enter the Schengen area - said Maciej Konieczny during a Sejm session. - Poland still had no migration policy, but it developed a huge migration business. [...] It's good that thanks to the committee, these processes have been described and brought to light. I hope those guilty of crimes will be punished. Unfortunately, this heavy fog of prejudice, fear, and hypocrisy still hangs over us and prevents us from approaching the issue of migration rationally and honestly - he continued. "The government's proposed migration policy is still governed primarily by fear" - Yesterday's human rights defenders are today standing shoulder to shoulder with the government and voting, for example, for a draconian border law that allows shooting refugees with impunity. [...] The government's proposed migration policy is still governed primarily by fear and thinking almost exclusively in terms of security. If we truly want to ensure our security, we must finally have an honest and calm conversation about whom we want to admit to Poland and on what terms - he went on to say.

16:32

Sowa Responds to PiS MPs Regarding the Visa Scandal:

403 Pages of Emails with Names.
- Where can you find these names? Each member of the commission received name-specific files, 35,000 pages [...] but within these 35,000 pages, there are 403 pages of emails. Nothing besides names is there. 403 pages of emails with names. Do you know how many names can fit on 400 pages? - said Marek Sowa during Sejm deliberations.

- You are talking here, thinking you will convince Poles that this happened entirely outside the knowledge of those in power? No, you knew about it perfectly well - he continued.

16:43

Sowa:

It's Incomprehensible How the CBA Operated in the Visa Scandal. Kamiński and Kaczyński Knew About Every Move
- On July 27, 2022, the Central Anticorruption Bureau (CBA) learned about the corrupt practices within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MSZ). For 6-7 months, they did nothing. [...] The CBA deliberately and consciously wanted to push this matter through because it hadn't yet gained widespread attention. It was only when consuls wrote notes to the MSZ, when other services intervened, when we received notes from other countries, that it finally became necessary [...] to deal with this scandal - stated Marek Sowa during parliamentary proceedings.

- It's incomprehensible how the CBA operated in this matter. Since February, they knew perfectly well that Piotr Wawrzyk was guilty in this situation. What was he doing until the end of August? Why weren't the documents in the MSZ seized earlier, only on August 31, after the last Sejm session? Because you simply wanted to maintain your majority - he continued.

- The prosecutor's office's decision [...] to seize these files is dated August 11, 2023. For three weeks, the CBA, despite having an order for the immediate securing of all SMS messages, communications, and emails, did not enter the MSZ. You will tell me that Kamiński did not know about this? That his hands are not soiled in this entire situation? That would be untrue - he went on to say.

- He knew perfectly well about every move, and President Kaczyński also knew about every move. You knew perfectly well, and that is precisely why Wawrzyk was not on the list of candidates for election slates - he added.

16:52

Sowa:

You Wanted Your Own Visa Factory Under the Direct Supervision of the Minister of Foreign Affairs
- The visa decision center, no one can have any doubt that this must be treated as a joint action. On the one hand, it was the renting of property for a visa factory in Łódź, and on the other hand, it was the processing of regulations. You wanted your own visa factory under the direct supervision of the Minister of Foreign Affairs. Why? Because you had resistance from consuls - said Marek Sowa during the Sejm proceedings. - If the consuls had issued visas 100% for the visa applications you requested, simply no one would have created this visa decision center in Poland - he continued.

17:29

Nawrocki:

The Evil of Inflation and High Prices Affects Everyone Today, Ahead of the Holidays

- The evil of inflation and high prices affects everyone today, ahead of Christmas. And even if there are those who pretend for political reasons that this issue does not concern them, I guarantee you that when they go to the grocery store and look at the prices of orange juice, butter, even wafers, because those are the biggest increases, and the prices of apples, I do not believe that it doesn't cross their minds, and yours, that something is wrong with our public finances, that there is a problem that wasn't there before - stated Karol Nawrocki in Sokółka.

17:32

Nawrocki:

We Cannot Allow the Evil Destroying Poland to Grow Bold
- A beautiful, important, and relevant message from Blessed Father Jerzy Popiełuszko […], who often said in his homilies, quoting Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński: that the greatest failing of every apostle is fear. Fear constricts the heart and tightens the throat. And anyone who remains silent in the face of an enemy of the cause emboldens that enemy and the evil - said Karol Nawrocki in Sokółka. - We are here for this purpose, and I will speak about this in many contexts, that we cannot allow the evil that is destroying the Republic of Poland to grow bold. To be told that we are someone different than we actually are. To be torn away from our roots and our tradition - he continued. - I want to take you on such a journey, starting from here, from Podlasie, as a civic candidate for president - he added.

17:52

When Will Nawrocki Present His Election Program? A Month Has Been Set
- I would like to know your opinions on the matters that are most important to you. In developing the program, which I will present in February of next year, there simply must be a place for the voice of Poles - said Karol Nawrocki in Sokółka.

20:11

Trzaskowski's New Video:

Today We Need Economic Patriotism.

- Poland should be a powerhouse. The Polish economy should be a powerhouse. Today we need economic patriotism. Enough with misguided globalization. The world has changed, and we need to focus on regaining Poland's economy's competitiveness and making it as strong as possible - says Rafał Trzaskowski in a new clip, using a fragment from the Civic Coalition convention.

- There is no reason why our companies in various sectors, agri-food, furniture, machinery, cannot compete with the best companies worldwide. This is what's most important today, economic patriotism, because only then! All of Poland forward! - he emphasized.

20:19

Nawrocki Appeals to the Government:

Please Restore Zero VAT on Food and the Anti-Inflation Shield.
- Instead of playing around with taxpayers' money, please restore zero VAT on food and the anti-inflation shield. Get to work - said Karol Nawrocki in a recording published on X.

20:25

Mentzen Opposes Ukraine's NATO Membership:

Absolutely Not in Poland's Interest.

- Of course [I oppose Ukraine's NATO membership], not only I but every person who has Poland's interests at heart should oppose it. This is very bad foreign policy; Polish foreign policy should be conducted in Poland's interest, and no other, and it is absolutely not in Poland's interest for Ukraine to join NATO – stated Sławomir Mentzen on the program "Gość Wydarzeń" on Polsat News.

- If Ukraine were now a member of NATO, Poland would have the following choice: either send troops to Ukraine to fight the Russians and attack a nuclear power, or we ourselves would show that Article 5 of NATO has no meaning because we would not have helped Ukraine, and then we could not expect anyone to help us – he continued.

20:27

Zgorzelski:

From 1989 to 2018, the National Election Commission Operated Perfectly – Until PiS Tampered With It
- The National Election Commission (PKW) operated perfectly from 1989 to 2018. Perfectly because it was comprised of specialists, judges, representatives of the third branch of power - said Piotr Zgorzelski in an interview with Marek Czyż on TVP Info's 'Question of the Day'. - The gentlemen from PiS decided that this body, which had excellent ratings from international institutions like the OSCE, also needed to be tampered with. And they did tamper with it, deciding that politicians would now be elected to the PKW. I don't know why they did it - he continued.

20:27

Mentzen:

We are not an ally of Ukraine; I wouldn't want Polish soldiers to die for Crimea

- We are not an ally, fortunately, of Ukraine, because if we were, we would have to fight the Russians now. I wouldn't want any Polish soldier to die in Ukraine; Polish soldiers should not die for Crimea or Donbas – Sławomir Mentzen said on Polsat News.

20:28

Mentzen Slams Opponent:

Hiding Like Romanowski from the Police.

- I think the campaign is going very well, I've already had over 70 meetings, but in January I'm shifting into 6th gear, with another 40-something meetings planned just in January. And, very importantly, these are open meetings, where voters can come and find out about them in advance – stated Sławomir Mentzen on Polsat News.

- In contrast, Rafał Trzaskowski is hiding from voters, just like Romanowski from the police, and you can't find out in advance where he's even having a meeting. Evidently, he doesn't want to meet with voters. Frankly, I'm not surprised, because he travels to the countryside to convince people he's not a big-city dweller, but he knows perfectly well what people in the countryside think of him – he continued.

20:30

"We Have Crossed the Line of Lawlessness." Mentzen on the Rulers and Actions "Contrary to the Constitution"

- The executive branch has no authority to control the judicial branch; this is contrary to Polish law, this is contrary to the Polish constitution, there is no such possibility. Moreover, resolutions of the Council of Ministers are not a source of law. At this moment, unfortunately, we are on the verge of anarchy, on the verge of lawlessness, in fact, we have crossed that line of lawlessness – Sławomir Mentzen said on Polsat News.

- The problem lies in the decision of the National Electoral Commission (PKW), dominated by representatives of the current majority coalition, who stated that they will not recognize the Supreme Court. What's more, they are very inconsistent in this, because the same chamber of the Supreme Court, which they are now questioning, validated the elections won by the current coalition, and after that victory, they delegated these people to the PKW – he emphasized.

20:32

Mentzen on the Lack of Response to the Constitutional Reset Proposal:

PiS and PO Couldn't Care Less About Poland.
It is very sad, because they truly couldn't care less about Poland. This isn't about Konfederacja, PiS, or PO, but about us being a normal, democratic rule-of-law state. And at the moment, unfortunately, we are not. This is the fault of PiS and PO. PiS overstepped, broke the law, but PO went much further than PiS – stated Sławomir Mentzen on Polsat News. The only way out of this legal quagmire is a constitutional reset, which Konfederacja has been consistently proposing for a long time, as the sole solution to this situation – he added.

20:34

Mentzen:

Politicians Who Talk About Lowering Butter Prices Without Rejecting the Green Deal Are Lying
All politicians who say that butter will be cheaper once we take power, if they don't simultaneously say they will bring about the rejection of the Green Deal, are simply lying – said Sławomir Mentzen on Polsat News.

20:53

Zgorzelski on the PKW potentially passing a resolution on the validity of elections:

We cannot be in a legal niche
- I believe that this matter, namely the validity of elections – be it presidential or any other – should be assessed by judges whose status is beyond any doubt – said Piotr Zgorzelski in TVP Info's „Pytanie dnia”. As he stated: - The First President of the Supreme Court should comment on this matter. I don't know to what extent Ms. Manowska will want to… To Marek Czyż's remark that Małgorzata Manowska will not make such a decision, he replied: - Then the PKW must pass a resolution on the validity of these elections. There cannot be a situation where we are in some legal niche… - But the PKW does not have such competences in the law – commented the host. - The PKW is the body that can assess these issues – stated the Deputy Marshal of the Sejm.

21:02

Zgorzelski:

If Hołownia Reaches the Second Round, He Will Win the Election
- I hope that Szymon Hołownia will reach the second round, and then he will certainly win this election - said Piotr Zgorzelski on TVP Info's "Question of the Day".

21:05

Morawiecki Accuses Trzaskowski of Lacking Economic Patriotism

- Me: Rafał - maybe economic patriotism throughout Poland?
- Rafał: We have economic patriotism in Warsaw.

- Meanwhile, economic patriotism in Warsaw — former Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki published a meme featuring Rafał Trzaskowski.

21:08

Zgorzelski on Potential Personnel Changes Among Candidates:

Anything Can Still Happen.
- Personally, I view the so-called candidate list with a great deal of skepticism, because in my opinion, anything can still happen. There can be various, unexpected twists and turns. We remember what happened in the previous elections, the PO candidate was swapped out - said Piotr Zgorzelski on TVP Info's "Question of the Day." - I did not say that [that such a swap will happen now]. I can only say that as long as the candidates are not registered, there is a certain percentage of uncertainty as to what this list will look like - he stated.

21:16

Imminent Breakthrough on Abortion Laws? Zgorzelski Points to January
- Probably in January, from the extraordinary committee [to consider bills on abortion], Representative Łoboda – whom I would like to thank, just like Marshal Wielichowska, for the good dialogue on this matter – will present the third-way bill, meaning the one restoring the situation before the disgraceful ruling of Przyłębska's tribunal, thus restoring the third premise, and another bill concerning the decriminalization of aiding and abetting - stated Piotr Zgorzelski in "Pytanie dnia" on TVP Info. - As Deputy Marshal of the Sejm, I will do everything to make this happen in January - he declared.

21:20

Where is Romanowski? Zgorzelski: Rumors say Hungary
- In my opinion, the services already know [where Marcin Romanowski is], they are just waiting for the European Arrest Warrant - said Piotr Zgorzelski in TVP Info's "Question of the Day". - It is said that [he is] in one of the European countries - in Hungary - he stated.
