Friday's Political Agenda: Sejm Votes on Immunities of Kaczyński, Suski, and Czerwińska

Friday marks the final day of the 23rd Sejm session. Between 9:00 and 13:00, a block of votes will take place, primarily concerning amendments to the 2025 budget act. The Sejm will also address the Senate's amendments to the act concerning a free Christmas Eve.

At 13:00, second readings are planned for motions to lift the immunities of PiS leader Jarosław Kaczyński, MP Anita Czerwińska, and MP Marek Suski, with the votes on these matters scheduled between 14:15 and 14:30.

At 12:00 Polish time in Klaipėda, Lithuania, President Andrzej Duda will participate in the ceremony of transferring ownership of the floating storage and regasification unit "Independence." A meeting with the President of Lithuania is also scheduled.

07:38

Zandberg on Kaczyński and the Wreath Plaque:

I Will Not Vote to Lift Immunity, Because It's Irresponsible.
- We need to distinguish between two things: if Mr. President Kaczyński hit someone, then of course he should be held accountable; there's no reason why his immunity should cover him in that matter - said Adrian Zandberg in "Rozmowa o 7:00" on RMF24. - However, when I hear about accountability, I feel a kind of disconnect between reality and what was promised. Because we talked about holding accountable the nasty things the previous government did, large-scale theft, violations of the Constitution [...] and now I hear that this accountability is supposed to consist of simply dealing with the fact that someone removed a plaque from a wreath lying in front of a tombstone - he continued. - Excuse me, but this is some kind of joke, not accountability. [...] Regarding accountability for removing the plaque from the wreath, I apologize, but I will not vote to lift immunity, because I consider it irresponsible. [...] As for immunity in the case of [...] hitting someone, then of course, because a Member of Parliament or anyone else should not hit anyone, nor should they raise their hand against anyone - he went on to say.

07:46

Zandberg:

We Could Finally Start Talking About Serious Matters, Not Pseudo-Settlements and Commissions That Yield Nothing
- I believe that we could finally start talking about serious matters in Poland, instead of these pseudo-settlements and commissions that yield nothing. Because people won't get fed by settlements, and no one will get fed by commissions that deliberate for many months, nor will we shorten the queues to see a doctor - said Adrian Zandberg on RMF24. - I deeply believe that Prime Minister Tusk, when he wakes up in the morning, thinks about PiS, and when he falls asleep, he thinks about PiS, and PiS fills his entire world. But my world looks different. And my world is the one where Poland's train is leaving the station, where our future competitiveness is called into question, because the entire political class is dealing with, forgive me, trifles, instead of addressing the issues on which the well-being of our society will depend in 10 years - he continued.

07:50

Zandberg Assesses the First Year of the Coalition Government:

Disappointment. Only One Thing Was Delivered.
- In one word: disappointment. Because quite simply, the matters that were supposed to change over this past year have genuinely not been delivered. Only one thing has been delivered, namely the issue of unblocking European funds, and credit for that, but that happened in the first few weeks. And then we have a year, and it's a year of significant stagnation. Unfortunately, there are areas where we have regressed – said Adrian Zandberg in RMF24, when asked for an assessment of the current coalition's first year in government.

07:54

Zandberg:

Those in Government Can Do Nothing. Real Decisions Are Made by Tusk
- Those who are in government can do nothing. Because the real decisions are made by Civic Platform and Tusk, regardless of whether the rest like them or not. Colleagues from New Left were against shooting at civilians at the border, but then it ended up with, firstly, the law passing, and secondly, some of them were even ordered to vote against their beliefs, because Tusk simply told them so. This is what being effective in this government looks like – said Adrian Zandberg on RMF24.

07:59

Few Things Angered Retail Workers as Much as What Liberals Did Last Minute. Zandberg on Free Christmas Eve
- We in Together are in close cooperation with trade unions, with retail workers, and few things have angered them as much as what the liberals did at the last minute - said Adrian Zandberg in RMF24, when asked about a free Christmas Eve in exchange for an additional shopping Sunday in December. - Liberals in Poland live in some complete illusion, meaning they think it's even possible in Poland for shops to operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, yet even today, shops have problems with staffing - he continued.

08:05

Zandberg:

I have the impression Petru wants to create a happening. I encourage him to simply talk to retail workers
- I have a bit of an allergy to this kind of politics, which involves making a show out of sitting somewhere for an hour where others spend their whole lives, and pretending that you therefore know how they live and that you can decide against their will how to organize their work. And I have the impression that Ryszard Petru wants to create just such a happening in this matter – said Adrian Zandberg in RMF24. - I encourage Ryszard Petru to simply talk to the people who work in retail. [...] So that he then understands, for example, what shift allocation in stores looks like in practice – he continued.

08:11

Zandberg:

In a Civilized Country, Traffic Management is Handled by Traffic Police, Not the Polish Prime Minister on Twitter
- Donald Tusk says he will now decide manually which forms of peaceful protest are permissible in Poland and which are not, this is backwards - Adrian Zandberg stated on RMF24, referring to the protests by Ostatnie Pokolenie (Last Generation). - I would not participate in such a protest, but when I hear what the Prime Minister is doing in this matter, and it is simply, I'm very sorry, but rather crude populism, it makes my blood boil a bit. Because in a civilized country, traffic management is handled by the traffic police, not the Polish Prime Minister on Twitter - he continued.

Will PSL Vote to Lift Kaczyński's Immunity? Kosiniak-Kamysz: There are Many Reasons, But I Don't Know if Removing a Wreath Plaque is the Biggest

- A rich discussion has unfolded here, which has not yet reached its conclusion. Within our caucus, these discussions will likely continue this afternoon. I believe there are many reasons why Jarosław Kaczyński's immunity should be lifted, though I'm unsure if removing a wreath plaque is the most significant of them – stated Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz on the program "Sygnały Dnia" on PR1.

- I believe that if someone goes to lay wreaths at a monument to commemorate their loved ones, they should not be disturbed. I think provoking any kind of unrest at such moments is simply unnecessary and actually benefits PiS, rather than those who are demonstrating – he continued.

08:24

Kosiniak-Kamysz:

I am determined to sign a submarine contract next year

- We must strengthen the navy, I am determined to sign a submarine contract next year, to conclude the final chapter of this 30-year process, and there is strong support for this – stated Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz on PR1.

08:25

Kosiniak-Kamysz:

We have secured funds in the ministry; we will take every batch of "Borsuk" that becomes available
We are ready, we have this planned and the expenses for this purpose, the only limitation is the capabilities of our industry. Research on the "Borsuk" has been ongoing for 10 years, which shows how difficult this sector is. I have the latest assurances that everything should be finalized any moment now, but I haven't yet received a signal from the Armaments Agency that we can sign the contract. I wish that it were so. We are ready as a ministry, the funds are secured, and we will take every batch of "Borsuk" that becomes available – said Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz in PR1.

08:25

Kosinak-Kamysz:

No Plans to Reinstate Conscription
Under the Act on the Defense of the Fatherland, based on regulations that previously functioned in other acts, conscription is suspended and there are no plans to reinstate it – stated Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz on PR1. Not everyone will be in the army today, but there must be the largest possible group of people prepared to join the army. In a moment of threat, the army must also be prepared for this – he added.

08:26

Kosiniak-Kamysz on a $4 billion credit agreement with the USA:

This is a sign of great trust, very favorable terms for purchasing American equipment.

- Yesterday, a good gift arrived from the United States. A $4 billion credit agreement, which brings our total special support from the American government to $11 billion. Only the closest allies receive it. Our predecessors signed a $2 billion agreement, we signed one for $9 billion. This is a sign of great trust. These are very favorable terms for purchasing American equipment, such as Apaches, the Patriot system – stated Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz on PR1.

Prosecutor 'Doesn't Look at the Political Calendar or Politicians' Acquaintances,' Korneluk on the Olgierd L. Case
- Mr. Olgierd [L.], the suspect, has been charged with five offenses, including participation in an organized criminal group aimed at committing property destruction offenses, including by arson - said Dariusz Korneluk in an interview with Agata Adamek on TVN24's "Jeden na jeden." - The organized criminal group, in which he participated, [...] also dealt with arms trafficking, such as grenades and firearms. [...] The suspect also incited the commission of offenses against life and health, by instigating beatings or grievous bodily harm - he continued. "Today, a request for the temporary detention of the suspect" - Today, a request for the temporary detention of the suspect will be submitted to the court. [...] The suspect is accused of committing offenses between April 2023 and May 2024 - he stated. "Today, There Is No Political Prosecution" Agata Adamek noted that accusations are being made that the prosecution is acting on political orders, as Olgierd L. appeared in a "report" concerning the past of Karol Nawrocki. - The timeframe of the offenses committed by the suspect is important. [...] Today, there is no political prosecution. [...] Today, the prosecutor does not look at the political calendar or the acquaintances of this or that politician. I guarantee you that no one from the National Prosecutor's Office will dictate to prosecutors when and what charges to bring, and against whom - whether someone is an acquaintance of a given candidate or not. We would reach an absurd situation - Korneluk replied.

08:51

Korneluk:

The Prime Minister Doesn't Call Me
- The Prime Minister does not call me and does not ask about proceedings. I do not visit any political party headquarters, which happened in recent years, where the National Prosecutor was seen at a political party headquarters - said Dariusz Korneluk in "One on One" on TVN24. - Nobody interferes, there are no strange phone calls saying this case should be handled this way or that way. I guarantee that no one makes such calls to me - he emphasized.

08:59

"Politicians Too": Korneluk Announces When Indictment in Justice Fund Case Will Be Filed
- We have the Justice Fund, 20 suspects. […] The indictment is already being prepared. […] At the turn of December and January, the indictment will be filed against, as the prosecutor indicated to me, nine individuals - Dariusz Korneluk said on TVN24’s “Jeden na jeden.” - These are individuals who have been charged in this proceedings. Politicians too - he stated. - In the proceedings concerning the Justice Fund itself, as far as I know, the filing of further requests to lift parliamentary immunity is not ruled out - he stressed.

09:13

Korneluk on Collegium Humanum: We Cannot Speak of Any Prohibited Act in the Context of the Sejm Marshal
- I investigated [the Collegium Humanum matter] in the context of the publication in "Newsweek". Today I can say – and this stems from the evidence, which I am authorized by the prosecutor to share – that we cannot speak of any prohibited act in the context of the Sejm Marshal – Dariusz Korneluk stated on "Jeden na jeden" on TVN24. - I am speaking about a prohibited act concerning a specific person. Whether a [crime] was committed against the Marshal – I do not have knowledge that such a situation actually took place – he indicated.

09:27

Morawiecki Addresses the Ruling Coalition:

In 2 Years, You've Increased the State's Debt by Half a Trillion Zloty.

- The budget is like a mirror; it reveals everything about the government's priorities, the effectiveness of financial institutions, and the vision for the state's development. No PR tricks will change anything here. Your budget is the worst budget in 30 years. It's a budget with a monstrous deficit of 290 billion zloty. In 2 years, you've increased the state's debt by half a trillion zloty - stated Mateusz Morawiecki in the Sejm.

09:29

Morawiecki:

You are a coalition of failures, sellouts, and broken promises

- One thing must be admitted, they succeeded. It's a record budget, a record of broken promises. A budget of sinking Poland, which will go down in history. You are a coalition of failures, sellouts, and broken promises. A government of deceivers, a coalition that has not kept a single promise, not a single word - stated Mateusz Morawiecki in the Sejm.

09:52

Program:

It Will Return by the End of March." Hennig-Kloska on the "Clean Air
- The [Clean Air] program will return by the end of March, I have committed the management of the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management to this - said Paulina Hennig-Kloska in an interview with Jacek Prusinowski on Radio Plus's program "Sedno Sprawy". - We need some time, this technological break, because we need to put this program back on its feet, meaning, the program cannot be a threat to its applicants, that documents are being falsified, signatures forged by some parties, so this break was absolutely [...] not an easy decision, but certainly a necessary one - she continued.

10:01

Additional Fees for Fossil Fuels. Hennig-Kloska: We Want to Postpone the Directive's Implementation by at Least Three Years
- There are no penalties. That's a complete lie; there are no penalties, at most the Union allows for fossil fuels themselves to be subject to an additional fee – coal, gas, oil, fossil fuels. So, no penalties, there will be additional fees - said Paulina Hennig-Kloska on Radio Plus. - This is to allocate these funds for energy transformation [...]. Firstly, these types of fees [...] can be mitigated at the level of tax law or other national fees. The decision will of course largely lie with the Minister of Finance [...] so it doesn't have to be burdensome for citizens - she continued. - Conditions will diversify, yes, for those who have and do not have emission-generating sources. But today, we actually want, because it's 2027 today, we want to postpone the entry into force of this directive at the European level [...] simply to give people more time for this change [...] we want at least three years, meaning beyond 2030, for this directive to come into effect at all - she added.

10:35

Duda on yesterday's meeting with Nawrocki and the topics discussed:

At his request.
- I am the incumbent president and I will no longer run a campaign, I am saying that from the outset. I am not eligible to run for a third term [...], so I will absolutely not conduct any campaign - said President Andrzej Duda at a press briefing. - I met with Chairman Karol Nawrocki and congratulated him on his nomination. The meeting took place at his request, by the way - he continued. - As a presidential candidate, he promotes ideas and has ideals that are close to my heart. In this regard, I suppose no one has any doubts - he indicated. - We have participated in many ceremonies together. […] There are many such events in which we participate together. We will probably also jointly honor the victims of martial law soon. These are important topics for us from the perspective of Polish memory and Polish historical truth as well - he continued. - Of course, we talked about the election campaign, which is slowly but unofficially starting, […]. We discussed a whole range of issues that are important at the moment - he added.

10:40

Duda:

Of Course I Want to Appoint a New President of the Constitutional Tribunal
- Of course I want to [appoint a new President of the Constitutional Tribunal] because I want to ensure the efficient functioning of the CT. The chairman, the president of the CT, is an extremely important person when it comes to the CT's operation, and I will try to achieve this as soon as possible, as soon as I receive the candidacies - stated President Andrzej Duda at a press briefing.

11:15

Domański:

The Economy is Accelerating, Inflation is Falling, and We Are Steadily Repairing Public Finances
- Following the PiS government, we inherited zero economic growth, inflation that reached 18% at its peak, plundering Poles' wallets. A deficit for which Poland was subjected to the excessive deficit procedure. That is due to your deficit from 2023. Today, fortunately, the economy is accelerating, inflation is falling, and we are steadily repairing public finances - stated Andrzej Domański in the Sejm.

11:23

Sejm Approves Budget for 2025

232 MPs supported the adoption of the budget bill by the Sejm, 207 MPs voted against it, and 3 abstained. The most important law of the year projects a deficit of PLN 289 billion, as well as cuts to the budgets of, among others, the Constitutional Tribunal (TK), the National Council of the Judiciary (KRS), the Supreme Court (SN), the Institute of National Remembrance (IPN), and the Supreme Audit Office (NIK). The bill will now be considered by the Senate.

11:34

"The Steamroller Continues." Tusk on Budget Approval and "Exemplary Coalition Unity"
The budget has been adopted. Coalition unity is exemplary. The steamroller continues – Prime Minister Donald Tusk wrote on social media.

12:23

The Ruling Establishment Decided to Use the Apparatus of Services and Propaganda for the Fight". Nawrocki’s Campaign Publishes a Spot

- In recent times, the current ruling establishment, fearing the growing enthusiasm around Karol Nawrocki’s civic candidacy, has decided to unleash an aggressive political war and use the apparatus of services and propaganda for the fight – says the narrator in a clip published on social media.

- Doctor Karol Nawrocki is not bothered by the attacks, but he has a different goal [to end the Polish-Polish war] – it was emphasized.

12:56

Pegasus Committee Appeals to Ziobro to Appear for Interrogation Before Being Brought in by Force:

Please Suggest a Date.
- I would like to reiterate my and our call to Member of Parliament Zbigniew Ziobro today. You can still use the opportunity and the time to appear before the investigative committee on your own. You do not have to be brought to the Sejm by police officers - said Tomasz Trela at a press conference of the Pegasus investigative committee.

- Please contact the committee, please suggest a date, we will summon you, you will answer questions in the public part, in the secret part, because as you see [...] the courts in this matter operate under the majesty of the law and make decisions that result from the Code of Criminal Procedure - he continued.

- Mr. Ziobro is a key witness [...] therefore he must testify. [...] This interrogation will probably not be a one-day affair, it will probably not end in one day, because there are very many questions and materials concerning Mr. Zbigniew Ziobro - he added.

13:27

Morawiecki:

We Face Rising Prices, Butter Was Under 5 PLN a Block Last Year, Now It Costs 100% More

- This is a bad budget because it does not secure the fundamental economic interests, the fundamental social interests in Poland – Mateusz Morawiecki said at a press conference.

- The government is looking for savings wherever it can, cutting back on ordinary citizens, on ordinary Polish families. Unfortunately, we are dealing with a gigantic, monstrous indebtment of Poland – he continued.

- Therefore, unfortunately, we have a very bad budget, but alongside this, we have rising prices. Butter has already crossed the 10 PLN per block barrier; just a year ago, it was under 5 PLN, meaning a 100% increase – he added.

13:28

Morawiecki Accuses Prosecution of Political Maneuvering:

Feeding Secret Materials to the Media.

- My inner conviction that truth always prevails, that a farce is quickly recognized by society. We have nothing to reproach ourselves for regarding the matters the prosecution and the control chamber are discussing; these are strictly political actions. We clearly see that the prosecution is feeding appropriate materials to the media, indeed, these are often secret materials, marked with a confidentiality clause – stated Mateusz Morawiecki at a press conference.

13:30

Morawiecki:

The Rule of Law of the Rulers is Worth as Much as Reynders' Morality
Didier Reynders, the man who dared to lecture us on the rule of law, faces money laundering charges. Bodnar's guru also faces money laundering charges. You know what, all their rule of law is worth as much as Didier Reynders' morality – said Mateusz Morawiecki at a press conference.

13:42

Kaczyński on the report concerning Nawrocki and the theory that PiS will change its candidate:

This is nonsense.
- This is simply one of the elements of the destruction of the rule of law and democracy in Poland. It's hard to even talk about destroying the rule of law anymore, because the law simply doesn't apply in Poland at the moment - Jarosław Kaczyński told journalists when asked to comment on the alleged use of services to destroy Karol Nawrocki. - This is nonsense. Yes, this report is nonsense, and this whole idea of a swap is nonsense - he continued, when asked about changing the presidential candidate and whether he was concerned by the information in the report about Nawrocki.

13:59

Kaczyński's Immunity: Sejm Decides, Coalition Divided

The Sejm has granted consent for Jarosław Kaczyński to be prosecuted in relation to a private prosecutor's motion. This concerns the case of Zbigniew Komosa, who claims Kaczyński hit him in the face.

241 MPs voted to revoke Kaczyński's immunity, while 206 voted against it (all from the PiS, Confederation, and Republicans clubs). No one abstained.

The Sejm also voted on granting consent for Jarosław Kaczyński to be prosecuted in relation to a motion by the Chief of Police. This pertains to a case where the PiS leader allegedly destroyed a wreath during a Smoleńsk commemoration event.

In this vote, the Sejm did not find the required majority. 177 MPs voted in favor of the motion, while 268 voted against it. This time, in addition to PiS, Confederation, and Republicans MPs, almost all present MPs from Poland 2050, the PSL club, and all MPs from Razem also voted against. One person abstained, and that was Jarosław Kaczyński.

Anita Czerwińska and Marek Suski retained their immunity. The Sejm did not find the required majority of votes to grant consent for the prosecution of PiS MPs.

14:08

Tusk on the vote regarding Kaczyński:

Some are more determined, some less.

- I expected this, because I know the views and sentiments of individual MPs and groups. It is important that in this key vote, where we decided on Jarosław Kaczyński's immunity for an act against a citizen, we at least obtained a sufficient majority on this matter to revoke immunity and for the politician to answer before the judiciary for the harm caused to an ordinary person - Prime Minister Donald Tusk stated in an interview with journalists in the Sejm.

- Some are more determined, some less. But I'm not complaining - he added.

14:10

Tusk on PiS accountability:

It's not as bad as some think.

- It's not as bad as some might think, that nothing is happening. That's not true, and I deeply respect the efforts of the prosecution, police, and courts; things are moving forward somehow. However, everyone feels that they have seen so much bad and that over the years they would like to settle the score quickly - stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk in a conversation with journalists in the Sejm.

14:18

Tusk on the Report Concerning 200 Cases in the Prosecutor's Office:

They Have Good Reason to Fear.

- I think they are afraid [prominent PiS politicians]. And they have good reason to fear. Wait a little longer, we will soon have a report concerning these 200 cases that are in the prosecutor's office and will be sent to courts - stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk in a conversation with journalists in the Sejm.

14:24

Where Are the Missing 40 or 50 Billion Zlotys from VAT? Morawiecki on the "Tusk Gap" in the Budget

- One can finally ask, but why, where is this so-called Tusk gap appearing from now? Look at the budget revenues. Here we already have a growing Tusk gap in VAT, in CIT, in PIT, in all basic taxes. Dear compatriots, this is your money, where are the missing 40 or 50 billion zlotys from VAT? these are serious problems — stated Mateusz Morawiecki at a press conference.

- Where did it go? To VAT mafias? These questions must be asked because everyone loses from this, the whole of Poland loses from this. That is why PiS does not support this very bad budget for Poles, a budget full of price gouging, broken promises, incompetence, and failure. We will not support such a budget — he continued.

14:28

Morawiecki:

Servicing Polish Debt Costs 100 Billion Zlotys

- The government, the current administration, unfortunately, neither cares about the quality of this budget, nor its coherence, nor public debt. In fact, more and more debt is appearing in the portfolios of foreign investors – said Mateusz Morawiecki at a press conference.

- The costs of servicing Polish debt alone, the debt incurred by Tusk and Domański as part of the 'Tusk hole', amount to approximately 100 billion zlotys. 100 billion zlotys is more than we spend on Polish science. This is a gigantic sum, this is how the current team manages – he added.

14:35

"People Who Support Scoundrels'. Kaczyński on MPs Who Voted to Lift His Immunity
- These are people who support scoundrels, because this man, who was doing this and who at a certain point was finally, let's say, punished very mildly for it - he will face even heavier penalties - is undoubtedly a scoundrel, but perhaps also a man who represents external forces, because this is Putin's propaganda - said Jarosław Kaczyński in a conversation with journalists in the Sejm, referring to the MPs who voted to lift his immunity.

14:40

Kaczyński:

When We Return to Power, We Will Have Proper Courts
- Please don't joke. When we return to power, we will have proper courts, and then it will be possible to do this. As it is now, these courts, please forgive me, but they are not courts – said Jarosław Kaczyński, responding to a question from a reporter who stated that now, after the lifting of his immunity, the PiS leader "will be able to prove his points in court."

14:50

Kaczyński on the lifting of immunity:

It's hard for me to be pleased, but I'm also not particularly worried.
- It's hard for me to be pleased [about the lifting of immunity], but I'm also not particularly worried. The opportunity to speak publicly, but not in the Sejm, because the current composition of the Sejm is quite peculiar, will be an occasion for me to show how one can insult a distinguished person in Poland [...] the President of the Republic, and conduct Putin-style propaganda - Jarosław Kaczyński told journalists in the Sejm.

14:57

Kaczyński on remarks about the Smolensk assassination:

Of course I won't back down.
- At the moment, this man, called Komasa, proposed that if I withdraw my assertion that it was an assassination, he will cease displaying that inscription. [...] Of course, I won't back down, because it was obviously an assassination, a crime – Jarosław Kaczyński told journalists in the Sejm.
- That the Russians did it is obvious, but what was the role of certain Polish groups in all of this – I hope that will one day be explained, and those who committed the murder of 96 people – punished with the utmost severity – he continued.

15:28

Morawiecki on the EU-Mercosur Agreement:

For Poland, it's Nord Stream 3.

- The EU-Mercosur agreement is Nord Stream 3 for Poland - wrote Mateusz Morawiecki on social media.

And So, Germany Has Betrayed Tusk". PiS MP on FAZ Publication

- And so, Germany has betrayed Tusk... Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung reveals that Ursula von der Leyen secured Tusk's agreement to the MERCOSUR deal! For now, he can still pretend to object. The agreement will be expressed after the presidential elections - wrote PiS MP Paweł Jabłoński on social media.

Trzaskowski Answers Questions Regarding a Potential Presidency:

I Will Push the Government.

Rafał Trzaskowski published a recording in which he answers questions, primarily concerning his potential presidency.

- 200% - responds the Mayor of Warsaw when asked about signatures under laws concerning abortion and registered partnerships.

- Certainly not in current times, a president is absolutely necessary. If you care about women's rights, you surely know this - he answers the question about why he needs a presidency if, "apparently, the president is just the guardian of the chandelier."

- I know this is a problem. We in Warsaw have developed an entire network of psychiatry and psychology, and of course, I will push the government to treat this as an absolute priority - he responds when asked about the long waits for appointments with child psychiatrists.

20:52

Tusk on Denying Kaczyński Immunity for the Wreath Incident:

I Feel Sick When I Hear a Politician Shouldn't Be Held Accountable for a Minor Offense.

- When I hear that a politician shouldn't be held accountable for a “minor offense,” I feel sick. It is precisely those in power who should particularly adhere to the law and be accountable for every violation. Even the party leader – Donald Tusk wrote on social media.

Steelworkers' Protest to Accompany Civic Coalition Convention in Gliwice: "We Appeal for Full Civility," Say Unionists
- We will come to demand a solution to the problems of the steel industry. The organizers are trade unions, but the support we are receiving from employers in the steel industry also assures us that what we are doing is right – said Artur Jacek Wilkoń, chairman of the Trade Union of Employees of Huta Łabędy, one of the organizers of the action, quoted by WNP. - The lack of border sealing causes us to lose on the market to steel from countries that do not adhere to such high environmental standards and benefit from production subsidies from their governments – said Artur Jacek Wilkoń. A statement about the protest was published on FB: "Information regarding tomorrow's demonstration at the Gliwice PreZero Arena. The official start of our demonstration is at 10:00 AM. Several people from our organization will be present to provide information. Please come for banners and our orange-black flags and whistles. We expect many guests from all over Poland, with delegations announced from GK Cognor - HSJ Stalowa Wola and Ferrostal Łabędy as well as Kraków." Paprocka on working Sundays for a free Christmas Eve:

This project was not consulted with anyone; the President will hold public consultations.

- At the end of the legislative process, we have a free Christmas Eve, but at the cost of an additional working Sunday. Such a project has not been consulted with anyone, neither with those who are the main stakeholders, nor with trade unions, nor with employers. The President wants to fill this gap; such consultations are planned, they will probably take place next week, and this public voice will certainly be one of the most important elements that the President will consider when making a decision regarding the bill – stated Małgorzata Paprocka for Telewizja wPolsce24.
