Leszczyna:

Finance Minister Should Increase Excise Duty on Alcohol and Cigarettes

- I believe that the minister [Andrzej Domański], and I have discussed this with him, should increase the excise duty on alcohol and cigarettes because we have two ways to reduce the consumption of these stimulants. Economic availability – we reduce it, and local availability, the possibility of purchase, and that's what I am responsible for – stated Izabela Leszczyna in "Piasecki's Conversation" on TVN24.

08:06

Leszczyna:

We are finalizing work on the bill to restrict alcohol sales at gas stations

- Gas stations are not for selling alcohol, but for selling gasoline, and I'm not saying that alcohol will be completely unavailable there right away. I want to introduce, and we are already finalizing work on this project in the Ministry of Health, a restriction on alcohol sales at gas stations during night hours, from 10 PM to 6 AM. I am not [announcing further steps] - stated Izabela Leszczyna in the "Piasecki's Conversation" on TVN24.

08:07

Konwiński:

Schab's and the Neo-KRS Head's Reaction Shows They Aren't Judges, But PiS's Extended Arm
- Justice is slowly reaching PiS politicians, and that greatly annoys them. The reaction from Mr. Schab or the head of the neo-KRS, for that matter, shows that they haven't truly been judges for a long time; they aren't concerned with the judiciary. Instead, they are like PiS's extended arm, just within the KRS, a bit like Governor Glapiński at the NBP or Mrs. Przyłębska at the façade Constitutional Tribunal - said Zbigniew Konwiński in an interview with Marcin Fijołek on Polsat News' "Graffiti".

08:13

Konwiński:

The PiS folks should be glad we support a judiciary independent of political power
- I am not deciding in such a vote, nor will any MP decide whether Mr. Romanowski is guilty or whether Mr. Romanowski should be taken into custody; that will ultimately be decided by a court independent of political power. In reality, the PiS folks should be glad that we are in favor of a judiciary that is independent of political power, because if I had to decide, I know what that decision would be. But in reality, we are giving consent to the functioning of the justice system, and in the end, the justice system will decide, the court will decide, and I will say what I have heard for many years: honest people have nothing to fear - said Zbigniew Konwiński on Polsat News.

08:22

Konwiński:

A Broad Review of Copyright Issues is Needed, Culminating in an Amendment
- All these demands, of course, we are listening to them, we will consider them, some have already been taken into account during parliamentary work when we implemented the EU directive in one of the laws at the last Sejm session, and here too we are listening and I think that a broad review of all these copyright-related issues is needed, which will end with an amendment - said Zbigniew Konwiński in Polsat News, referring to the new copyright regulations and the media protest.

08:29

Konwiński on the Situation in Lesser Poland:

This Could Lead to the Dissolution of PiS and the Creation of Something Else on the Right.
- We are witnessing, in fact, the disintegration of PiS, the fall of Kaczyński's authority. Candidates are running very boldly against Kaczyński's candidates. Mr. Ćwik has launched his candidacy, but they are also quite openly voting against Mr. Kaczyński's directives. So, I believe this is a dismantling and a preparation for a new arrangement within PiS after Kaczyński - said Zbigniew Konwiński on Polsat News. - This could end with the disintegration of PiS and perhaps the creation of something else on the right - he continued.

08:38

Konwiński on PO's primaries:

It is possible.
- It is possible, because we have twice selected a presidential candidate through primaries, both Mr. Komorowski and Ms. Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska. At the moment, I haven't heard of any serious consideration of the primary option, but it is possible, because history shows that primaries have been held twice - said Zbigniew Konwiński in Polsat News, when asked about potential presidential primaries in PO.

08:42

Kosiniak-Kamysz:

We Want Initiatives Related to the Construction of the East Shield to be Treated as Joint EU and NATO Investments
- We will try and do everything to ensure that initiatives related to the construction of the East Shield, the Baltic defense line [...], are treated as joint investments of both the European Union - though in a different context - and NATO - said Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz in an interview with Aleksandra Pawlicka on TVP Info's "Gość poranka". - The EU has much greater financial capabilities than NATO, NATO is a defensive alliance. But for our East Shield to be treated as part of NATO infrastructure, part of securing NATO's eastern flank - he continued.

09:04

Kosiniak-Kamysz:

The Border Isn't About Shuttling Migrants; These Groups Are Trained to Attack Soldiers
- I would encourage people to look at what has happened in recent weeks and months at the border, how the nature of the operation conducted by our adversaries against us has changed. It is no longer aimed at shuttling migrants and giving them opportunities or helping them attempt to cross the border […]. These groups that are at the border are trained, sometimes specialized in attacking soldiers, Border Guard officers, or police. This is a completely different nature of operation than two years ago - said Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz in "Gość poranka" on TVP Info.

09:11

Kosiniak-Kamysz on the law regarding the use of weapons at the border:

It's not a lack of rules, but a much greater sense of certainty.
- I will do everything to ensure that soldiers and officers feel safe. This is not a lack of rules, because the rules for the use of weapons remain, but it is a much greater sense of certainty. Soldiers also told me about this - that they lack a sense of certainty - said Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz in "Gość poranka" on TVP Info. - This law, which we have prepared, did not offend those on the extreme right or extreme left. This is probably the best recommendation that it is going somewhere in the middle. We adopted some remarks at the stage of government work - he added.

09:29

Kosiniak-Kamysz on the law regarding the use of weapons at the border:

Even if there's an oversight in the heat of the moment, you won't be punished.
- Impunity is when someone breaks the law and stabs our soldier in the stomach. This is banditry, and I will not allow banditry. I will hunt down bandits, and the Polish state will apprehend the one who fatally stabbed [the soldier] in a specialized manner. It was not an accidental stab. It was not a stab in any self-defense; it was a specialized stab intended to kill. And with such a mission, he arrived there at the border - said Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz on "Gość poranka" on TVP Info. - There are principles in this law. [...] If someone attacks at the border and threatens your life and health, you can use a weapon. Even if then - in the heat of the moment, because these are immense emotions - there is some oversight, you will not be punished for it. They are attacking you, threatening your life and health, crossing the border illegally. This is a conjunction, meaning a combination of several events that must occur - he emphasized.

09:40

Kosiniak-Kamysz:

PSL Can Create Its Own Partnership Bill, Acceptable to the President
- When we formed the coalition, I clearly stated that we would not agree to include worldview issues in the coalition agreement, because I am not responsible for voting, as everyone will vote according to their own convictions. Our views on this matter [of registered partnerships] are known. We are not surprising anyone. We have been telling our voters about them for years, and our voters accept this - said Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz in "Guest of the Morning" on TVP Info. - We can find space for discussion; we are open, we want to talk, and to make life easier. But we also have certain boundaries: child adoption, and equating it with the status of marriage - he continued. - There is a chance to make life easier: inheritance matters, matters related to access to medical information. And this is worth doing. Another law, in today's reality, will not gain presidential acceptance anyway. We can continue a very long, fruitless dispute, and there will be no change in the law in this area. Or find a solution that the president will sign. And we, as PSL, are capable of creating such a solution - he declared. - We are considering whether not to present our own solutions in this regard. Ones that would be accepted by the president - he added.

09:43

Kosiniak-Kamysz on Civil Partnerships: PSL Will Not Take Responsibility for the Bill, Even a Government One
- There will probably be [a government bill on civil partnerships], although there is no final decision in this regard yet. But I will repeat again: the PSL will not take responsibility for the bill, even a government one, because I do not guarantee a vote in the Sejm. This is not covered by the coalition agreement; everyone decides individually here - said Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz on TVP Info's "Morning Guest".

10:19

Suski on Kmita as PiS's Sole Candidate for Marshal of Małopolska:

Vote Until It Passes or Elections.
- [The vote] will continue until it passes, or there will be elections. I see no reason to change my mind, because the majority of the club wants Mr. Kmita to be elected, and a few colleagues, I believe it's only gentlemen, do not want that – stated Marek Suski on Radio Zet.

- If elections come about, then I will certainly be against them running on those lists [Kozłowski, Gawron, Ćwik]. Because they ran with PiS, they have an obligation to be in the club and they have an obligation to vote as the club majority wishes. That's what democracy is about; they are opposing the majority, thus breaking the rules of democracy. In that case, they will be looking for another place on Earth, perhaps PO will take them in – he continued.

10:21

Suski on Kaczyński's Letter to Ziobro:

The President Simply Asked for Clarification.
- It was like this: the President, simply due to various press reports, as a responsible Prime Minister, asked for clarification, and none of the accusations that were made, those accusations did not materialize. Ladies and gentlemen, the accusations were of the type that cars were purchased for fire brigades or for hospitals from the Fund for Combating the Effects of Catastrophes - said Marek Suski on Radio Zet.

10:25

Suski on Threats:

I’m Getting Messages Saying They Will Hang Me.
- I’m receiving all sorts of threats, from them saying they will hang me, rip open my stomach and I’ll watch my blood flow, that I’ll be pecked at, etc. These are extreme situations, that there’s poison in the office, that we will all be poisoned, that there’s a bomb. There is an investigation, and even the prosecutor said that a suspect has been identified, at least for one of these death threats. There were also threats of a bomb being planted on April 10th, on the anniversary of the Smolensk disaster. This is being investigated and a perpetrator has even been identified who might have used this kind of threat. In one case, there is suspicion that it originates from the East – Marek Suski said on Radio Zet.

10:49

Defense Spending Cuts? The Ministry of National Defense Denies: Claims Unfounded and Misleading the Public
- The Ministry of National Defense strongly denies the information published by TV Republika, suggesting that the Ministry of National Defense is planning defense spending cuts amounting to PLN 57 billion in the years 2025-2028. These claims are entirely unfounded and mislead public opinion - the Ministry of Defense stated in a press release. - The Ministry of National Defense is not planning any budget cuts amounting to PLN 57 billion. In fact, next year we plan to increase the budget for the army by 10%, which is an element of a long-term national security strategy aimed at strengthening our armed forces in the face of current geopolitical threats - it was written. The Ministry of National Defense emphasized that it demands an immediate correction of the false information by TV Republika. In the absence of a correction, we will consider taking appropriate legal steps to protect the good name of the Ministry of National Defense and prevent further dissemination of disinformation. - Furthermore, questions arise about possible foreign inspirations, including Russian ones, which may be behind these actions. We want to know on whose behalf the authors of these false reports acted and what their motivations were - the statement continued.

11:18

EU and NATO Cooperation, Support for Ukraine, Defense Spending, and Infrastructure: Duda Summarizes Talks with Slovak President
- We also discussed political formats, the more serious, more formal ones, cooperation within the Visegrad Group, cooperation within the Bucharest Nine, cooperation within the Three Seas Initiative – these are the narrower formats, and of course the two main, largest ones: our cooperation within the European Union, and also, of course, NATO, especially NATO, because [...] in just a few days, Mr. President and I will be together at the jubilee NATO summit in Washington - said President Andrzej Duda at a press conference after his meeting with the President of Slovakia. - Mr. President and I hold a unified stance that support for Ukraine is necessary, that Ukraine should receive this support, although of course we would like the war to end [...] but we would not want it to end with Russia's victory, we cannot imagine that [...]. We also spoke about the presence of NATO troops on the eastern flank. I told the President that I will certainly advocate for strengthening this NATO presence. I will certainly advocate, including during the Washington summit, for strategic NATO fuel pipelines to be extended to the eastern flank, because today they end in Germany [...]. I signaled to the President that I will raise the issue of the 3% benchmark, that NATO countries should aim to increase defense spending to 3% - he continued. - We also discussed our direct infrastructural cooperation, we talked about cooperation within the Three Seas Initiative, about road investments. I thanked the President for the law he recently signed concerning these very road and infrastructural investments in Slovakia. We hope that the result of this will be the creation of the first joint motorway that will connect and finally allow for travel by motorway or express road from Poland to Slovakia. [...] We talked a lot about the gas connection [...]. We also spoke about energy, about electricity production, and in this context also about climate policy, about energy from renewable sources, but also about nuclear energy - he went on to say.

11:46

Duda on Defence Spending Cuts: "If There Is Any Attempt, I Will Definitely Say 'No'"
- When it comes to reducing defence spending, I naturally have an absolutely negative stance on it and I believe that in our current situation, the security situation we have today, it is out of the question, it would be irresponsible if such a reduction were to occur. [...] If there is any attempt to limit these expenses, then I, you can be sure, will definitely say 'no', but I would like to note that as far as I know and have heard from the Ministry of National Defence, the Ministry of National Defence as such is not planning any restrictions when it comes to defence spending. However, such initial information has indeed emerged regarding the Ministry of Finance, so this is currently an internal government issue, there will probably be a dispute between the ministries here - said President Andrzej Duda at a press conference. - I, as the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, the Head of State, say: gentlemen, from the very beginning you said that the issue of security policy is fundamental, so Mr Prime Minister, gentlemen Deputy Prime Ministers, ladies and gentlemen Ministers, if it is fundamental, then please do not take away the resources that are necessary for us to truly build and strengthen our country's security - he continued.

11:59

Duda:

We are not sending our soldiers to Ukraine and we hope we never have to
- I also do not believe that Poland should send its soldiers to Ukraine today; it would mean a NATO country getting involved in the war, so it is a very serious matter. To date, in all international forums where we are present, the stance of NATO states, including, I emphasize, the stance of Poland and mine, has been very unambiguous: we are sending military support to Ukraine [...] a lot of aid worth billions of dollars, but we are not sending our soldiers. Indeed, we are training Ukrainian soldiers on Polish territory, yes, but we are not sending our soldiers to Ukraine, and we hope we will never have to send our soldiers to Ukraine to fight there, in defense of the Republic of Poland, I emphasize, nor NATO. I hope there will be no such necessity, that Russia will not lead to such a situation. This is our position today, and we absolutely do not want to participate in this war - President Andrzej Duda said at a press conference.

13:45

Hołownia:

Nothing Can Stop Freedom
- Freedom is something we must constantly learn, something we must renew within ourselves, because we have it in our genes, we have it in our blood. However, we must continuously seek forms of expressing this freedom, some that will build us as a nation, and others that will destroy us. These Senate elections on June 4th have shown one thing with absolute certainty to anyone who might have any doubts about it: nothing can stop freedom – stated Szymon Hołownia in the Senate.

15:09

Glapiński:

We Successfully Extinguished Inflation Exemplarily

- We have successfully and exemplarily extinguished inflation, bringing it down to a level consistent with the target typical for Poland, for rapidly developing countries. 2.5%. Unfortunately, this is also the case in all countries at the moment. The preliminary GUS data also allow us to estimate that in June, so-called core inflation, meaning the dynamics of prices excluding food and energy, although lower than in the previous month, is still significantly higher than overall inflation. Our projections, forecasts show that core inflation will continue to remain at an elevated level in the coming quarters. It will eventually fall to the appropriate level, but it is persistent and lasts a long time - stated Adam Glapiński at a press conference.

15:14

Glapiński:

Our GDP is 11% Larger Than Before the Pandemic

- At the moment, the Polish economy is 11% larger than before the pandemic. Our GDP is 11% larger than before the pandemic. Wages are also growing rapidly in real terms, recently by 9% - stated Adam Glapiński at a press conference.

15:23

Glapiński:

Poland is Experiencing an Economic Miracle

- We have been experiencing an economic miracle in Poland for quite some time now, and we are approaching the level of today's United Kingdom, France, and other countries at an incredibly rapid pace. Towards Germany too, but we are still more distant from that. In 8-10 years, we will be at the level of today's United Kingdom or France on average, in terms of the purchasing power of the average citizen - stated Adam Glapiński at a press conference.

15:34

Glapiński:

Current Forecasts Indicate Price Dynamics in Poland Will Increase in the Second Half of the Year

- Current forecasts, not just those of the NBP, but essentially all Polish and foreign research centers, indicate that the dynamics of prices in Poland will increase in the second half of the year. I have been saying this for a long time, at many press conferences and RPP meetings. The predicted increase in inflation in the second half of the year is due to the defrosting of energy prices - stated Adam Glapiński at a press conference.

15:37

Glapiński Forecasts Year-End Inflation Surge
According to current forecasts, ours, the NBP's, inflation could approach 5% by the end of this year. This means that by the end of the year, we could be close to 5% inflation – stated Adam Glapiński at a press conference.

15:41

Glapiński:

We Can Forget About Interest Rate Cuts

- At this moment, it is already obvious. We can forget about interest rate cuts when inflation is rising significantly, from 2.5% to almost 5%. Such a possibility may appear at the earliest in 2026, once inflation starts to fall - stated Adam Glapiński at a press conference.

16:22

PiS After Parliamentary Control at the Ministry of National Defence: Document on Reducing Defence Spending is Not Fake News
- The document that was revealed by Telewizja Republika clearly stated that there are plans to reduce defence spending over the next four years by 57 billion PLN. This would be a blow to our country's security – Mariusz Błaszczak said at a press conference in the Sejm.

- From the response, a negative opinion from the General Staff, one can read directly that the reduction of defence spending by 57 billion PLN would threaten the implementation of the support package, i.e., equipping the Polish army with modern weaponry, and would threaten the ability to host allied troops in Poland. […] It would also threaten the implementation of the plan to build ammunition production – he continued.

- Generally, it would be an extremely strong blow to the expansion of the Polish Army. This process began under the PiS government and must continue. […] First, the document was denied, then it turned out that such a document was indeed created and sent. Now there is an attempt to obscure this fact, to claim it is fake news. This is not fake news, this is a real document – he went on to say.

- Great chaos and panic among Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz's associates, when it turned out that the letter stating that defence expenditures will be reduced by 57 billion PLN in the years 2025-2028 is not fake news. Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz's associates, during a parliamentary control, confirmed to us that such documents were produced in the Ministry of National Defence and sent to the General Staff – said Michał Moskal, who, along with Andrzej Śliwka and Paweł Jabłoński, conducted a parliamentary control at the Ministry of Defence.

17:38

Duda Convenes National Security Council:

Invitations Are Being Issued Now.

- I have decided to convene the National Security Council for Monday at 9 AM, before our departure to Washington [for the NATO summit]. This will be an opportunity to exchange thoughts and ideas related to what will be discussed politically during the NATO summit. Invitations for the National Security Council are currently being issued for Monday at 9 AM – said Andrzej Duda at a press conference.

17:43

Morawiecki on CPK:

We handed this treasure to our successors, and they are making a caricature out of it.
- The current Prime Minister is simply destroying the foundations of what we have built, namely sustainable development, a level playing field for everyone. [...] Under social pressure, 6 months of effective social pressure, for which I want to thank all Poles, without any political context, I want to thank truly all Poles for exerting this effective pressure. What did Tusk do? Tusk ostensibly restores CPK, the Central Communication Port, but says that Lublin, the Lublin region, mind you, falls outside the scale of Poland. Mr. Tusk, for you Lublin falls outside the scale of Poland? Rzeszów falls outside the scale of Poland? Białystok falls out, Katowice falls out of Poland's scale? What kind of government is this, what kind of prime minister is this? I am starting to have very serious doubts - said Mateusz Morawiecki at a press conference. - The spokes, the 10 spokes that were supposed to connect Poland, have today been relegated to the attic. Donald Tusk has put a spanner in the works of these spokes. Tusk's powerful spanner, which is meant to destroy Poland's development. This is happening before our very eyes today. That is why I ask everyone, just as beautifully, through social pressure [...] we have restored the Central Communication Port at least as a slogan, so today let's restore, let's exert further pressure on this government so that we restore the original shape of the Central Communication Port - he continued. - I promise you that in July I will present the fundamental differences between what Tusk showed a few days ago and what was the original project for which we built the financing [...] I ask, where is that money, what are they doing with it? [...] The Law and Justice government prepared the Central Communication Port, prepared the financing. Today, we handed over this treasure, this liquidation of the partitions' curse, we handed it over to our successors, and they are making a caricature out of it, destroying it all, perhaps only to do a favor to their neighbours - he went on to say.

17:49

Duda Announces Establishment of New NATO Facility in Poland

- At the upcoming NATO summit in Washington, decisions will be made regarding the detailed placement of this new institution within the structures of the North Atlantic Alliance [NATO-Ukraine Training, Education, Analysis Centre]. We hope that within two years, in 2025 and 2026, there will be finalization, not only of this new institution's categorization within NATO structures, but also its full certification. This will enable it to fully carry out the tasks for which it is being prepared, namely as a centre for training, improvement, education, and exchange of experiences. This was one of the topics we discussed here – stated Andrzej Duda at a press conference.

17:52

Czarnek sets a condition and makes an offer to Giertych:

I will urge Romanowski to relinquish his immunity.
- Let's do this: I will urge MP Romanowski, who is an MP from the Lublin Voivodeship, to relinquish his immunity on the condition that Roman Giertych also relinquishes his immunity in the face of the accusations that were brought up in Onet today. 1:1, let's be fair. Romanowski relinquishes his immunity before the vote in the Sejm, on the condition that Giertych also relinquishes his immunity and allows himself to be questioned by the prosecutor's office in Poland - said Przemysław Czarnek at a press conference.

17:59

Morawiecki Appeals to Tusk:

Don't Cut These Expenses.
- It's worth appealing again to Donald Tusk: Don't reduce these expenditures [on defense] that we planned. The entire trajectory of spending, the entire path of expenditure is planned for several years ahead – said Mateusz Morawiecki at a press conference. - This was our budget, from our revenue enhancement, and what belongs to them, the years '25, '26, '27, they are already making cuts there, they can no longer afford to fulfill the contracts that we initiated – he continued.

17:59

Kosiniak-Kamysz Announces Increased Spending on Security

- The budget for the coming year will be even larger for the security of the Polish state. Expenditures on armaments, on the army, on everything connected with transformation and modernization, will be higher than this year, both in absolute terms and as a proportion of GDP – said Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz at a press conference.

19:07

Giertych:

Key Fragments About Inflated Media Advertising Payments Removed from OKO Interview with Mraz
I have only now read the interview that I helped Director Mraz authorize for Oko Press (a normal practice in criminal cases). To be honest, I almost fell off my chair. The most important fragments concerning why the advertising payments made to the media were inflated have been cut from the interview. And who was responsible for this inflation. Also, the fragment that spoke about how journalists who published content favorable to Ziobro and his associates were paid - wrote Roman Giertych on Twitter. - The interview was authorized, and its alteration requires the consent of the person speaking. Furthermore, cutting out the most important fragments gives the impression of absolute manipulation. When I asked the author of the interview, Mr. Krzysztof Boczek, he told me that he learned about the cutting of the most important fragments yesterday evening from the editor-in-chief. Unfortunately, he was not kind enough to inform me about it, as, of course, I would not have agreed to a censored, useless publication. I call on Oko Press to publish the interview in its original version - emphasized the KO MP.

19:10

Tusk Asks Orbán About Moscow Visit:

Rumors Can't Be True, or Can They?

- The rumors about your visit to Moscow cannot be true, Viktor Orbán, or can they? - wrote Prime Minister Donald Tusk on Twitter.

19:16

PiS Changes Candidate for Małopolska Marshal

- I confirm, the PiS candidate for the position of Marshal of the Małopolska Voivodeship is Łukasz Smółka - informed PiS councilor Rafał Stuglik. Consequently, PiS withdrew the candidacy of Łukasz Kmita, and Smółka became the sole candidate for the marshal position.

20:06

Bodnar on the Raid on the KRS Building:

All Files Found.
- Previously, there was a demand for the files of various disciplinary proceedings [by disciplinary spokesmen for common court judges]. This demand was not met, which is why such an action [yesterday's activities by the police and prosecution] was carried out. As far as I know, all these files were found there - said Adam Bodnar in an interview with Dariusz Ociepa on "Gość Wydarzeń" Polsat News.

20:09

Bodnar:

Yesterday's actions did not concern the National Council of the Judiciary. No one is trying to intimidate anyone
- All these actions did not concern the National Council of the Judiciary. It just so happens that these disciplinary spokespersons have their headquarters in the same place as the National Council of the Judiciary. Furthermore, all of this was undertaken based on current regulations and within the framework of current rules – said Adam Bodnar in "Gość Wydarzeń" on Polsat News. - No one is trying to intimidate anyone. Previously, a letter was sent requesting the handover of these files. Judges who became known for this – Mr. Schab, Lasota, or Radzik – for persecuting and harassing Polish judges for years, refused to hand over the files of disciplinary proceedings that were initiated against various judges fighting for the rule of law in Poland. Consequently, appropriate action was taken by the prosecution – he emphasized.

20:18

Bodnar:

I am striving for the creation of a new KRS, compliant with the constitution. This one is trying to undermine my actions in various ways.
- Several months ago, a resolution was adopted by the Sejm concerning the status of the neo-KRS, i.e., the KRS in its new composition. It stated that it is a body composed of 15 individuals appointed in a politicized manner by the previous parliament - said Adam Bodnar on Polsat News's "Gość Wydarzeń". - I am constantly striving to bring about the creation of a new KRS, compliant with the constitution. The KRS is trying in various ways to protest or undermine the various actions I am taking to restore the rule of law in Poland - he stated.

20:26

Sikorski on PiS: Suspicion Arises They Themselves Don't Believe in Reparations

- The PiS camp, if they believe reparations are due, then why is the word 'reparations' absent from the note – the only thing they accomplished in these 8 years – a note passed to the German government? Suspicion arises that they themselves don't believe in these reparations. All the more so, as we know, Minister Anna Fotyga already confirmed in writing in 2006 that, unfortunately, the Polish People's Republic renounced claims against Germany - stated Radosław Sikorski on TVN24's "Kropka nad i".

20:27

Sikorski:

We have concluded negotiations on a long-term defense cooperation agreement with Ukraine
I can confirm that we have concluded negotiations on a long-term defense cooperation agreement with Ukraine, and I hope it will be signed before the [NATO] summit – stated Radosław Sikorski on TVN24's "Kropka nad i".

20:29

Małopolska Regional Assembly Elects PiS Marshal

Łukasz Smółka has been elected as the Marshal of the Małopolska Voivodeship. 22 councillors voted in favour of the PiS candidate. The opposition did not put forward a counter-candidate.

20:33

Bodnar:

If we fail to appoint a new KRS now, we will have to wait until the end of 2025
- If we manage to appoint the KRS in the near future, with its new constitutional composition, we could return to the process of normal judicial appointments. If we don't do this, we may have to wait until the end of 2025 to appoint a new KRS - said Adam Bodnar in "Gość Wydarzeń" on Polsat News. Asked whether, if the provision allowing so-called neo-judges to run for the KRS remains in the law, the president would be inclined to sign it, he replied: - There are no such understandings, nor have there been. However, I believe that without this Senate amendment, there would essentially be nothing further to discuss with the president. Because if the president said that during his term there would be no differentiation of judges, then we have a problem here. When pointed out that the president dislikes the shortening of the current KRS's term in the draft, and thus may veto the law anyway, Bodnar responded: - There is such a risk.

Sikorski:

We Want the Best Possible Relations with Whoever Becomes US President

- We want the best possible relations with whoever becomes the US president. We are talking to both the current administration and with the Trump camp. Just as we have spoken with, for example, the British opposition. Today, we have elections, because it is necessary to maintain channels of communication with our allies - stated Radosław Sikorski on TVN24's "Kropka nad i".

Sikorski on Talks with Trump’s Circle:

There Are Also Interesting Ideas There.
We are talking with President Trump’s circle. There are various concepts there, some aiming to encourage Russia towards more realistic negotiations through the threat of escalation. There are also interesting ideas there – stated Radosław Sikorski on TVN24’s “Kropka nad i” program.

Bodnar Responds to Claims He Should Be Replaced by Giertych as Minister:

I Can Only Smile.
- I have the impression - and I think this team [for settling accounts with PiS, led by Roman Giertych] shares it - that we have quite a few different scandals that are unresolved, require accountability, and they are somewhat fading away. […] The aim would be to consider how to systematically, in an organized manner, discuss these matters. […] It seems important to me for public opinion to somehow organize this accountability process and explain to citizens what is happening in individual cases - said Adam Bodnar in "Gość Wydarzeń" on Polsat News. Asked about the emerging voices suggesting that Roman Giertych should replace him as Minister of Justice, Bodnar replied: - They are quite puzzling to me and I can only smile. […] I know that various voices of this kind sometimes appear, but I treat them more as inspiration than as a form of questioning my position.

Sikorski Asked About Presidential Elections:

In Wartime, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Should Distinguish a Brigade from a Battalion.

- We have several good candidates. I believe that in these wartime times, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces should indeed have experience in the field of security, should distinguish a brigade from a battalion - stated Radosław Sikorski on TVN24's "Kropka nad i".

- We have several excellent candidates. I like my current job. No, why [am I malicious]? I am convinced that he [Rafał Trzaskowski] distinguishes a brigade from a battalion - he continued.

Sikorski:

We Will Cooperate With Any French Government

- It seems likely that [in France] there will be a coalition of center-left forces. I have a vivid imagination, and we will cooperate with any French government – stated Radosław Sikorski on TVN24's "Kropka nad i".

Separating the Roles of Minister of Justice and Prosecutor General. Bodnar: Legislative Process Begins
- The draft bill [separating the positions of Minister of Justice and Prosecutor General], as I announced, has been prepared and entered into the government's work plan. The act will provide for the selection of the Prosecutor General in a similar way to how it happens with the Commissioner for Human Rights, meaning both houses of parliament must agree to it - said Adam Bodnar on Polsat News's “Gość Wydarzeń”. When asked if he had "reached an agreement" with the President on this matter, he replied: - Dialogue with the President is not a simple matter. […] However, I think that in this case, there are fewer controversies than in the case of the National Council of the Judiciary (KRS) or generally matters related to the judiciary.

Bodnar:

Allegations of Fr. Olszewski's torture have no basis
- There is no basis for [the allegations that Fr. Olszewski is being tortured]. I am outraged that this matter has been presented in such a way. I am outraged that some media, some politicians, are associating my name with this terrible word - said Adam Bodnar in "Gość Wydarzeń" on Polsat News. - Absolutely, he is treated like any other person deprived of liberty, with compliance to the standards that apply in Polish prisons - he added.
