Tusk and Siemoniak Should React; I Believe We Are Dealing with Economic Sabotage Regarding Biogas Plants, Says Sawicki
- We need financial support from the National Recovery and Resilience Plan, 250 billion [zloty]. Neither the previous government, which delayed the funds by 30 months, nor Poland has received it yet. Now it has been launched, and this government, and I say this with full awareness, does not have projects worth 250 billion zloty. So I propose that perhaps 50, maybe 70 billion [zloty] be allocated to renewable energy, especially since from 2026 there will be high emission fees. Polish petrochemical industry, the Polish economy completely lacks its own biomethane, which will be needed to meet the national target indicator - said Marek Sawicki in an interview with Bogdan Rymanowski on the program "Gość Radia Zet". - Shell wants to invest in Poland, Total has already bought Polska Grupa Biogazowa in Poland, and Orlen could have done it a year ago, which it didn't. Saudi Aramco is interested in investments in Poland, in Polish biogas. Everyone has precisely calculated how much biosubstrate Poland has for energy and heat production. It has a comparable amount to Germany. In Germany, there are already over 10,000 biogas plants, while in Poland there are three hundred and a few dozen - he continued. - I expect a reaction here from Prime Minister Donald Tusk, but I also expect a reaction from Minister Siemoniak, because I believe that in Polish energy companies we are dealing with economic sabotage in favor of the development of renewable energy and biomethane production. [...] I would like the security services of the Polish state to check this, because I have the impression that projects that were prepared at Orlen, and there were over 80 of them, did not reach their conclusion. The question is whether they are still on Orlen's shelves, or if they were sold to the competition - he went on to say.

Debunking Fake News Presented by a Kangaroo Court," Błaszczak Announces PiS Team Formation
We have decided to appoint a team composed of parliamentarians. The task of this team will be precisely to debunk the fake news that will be presented by a kangaroo court led by General Stróżyk, and secondly, to show the actual Russian influences in our country. The team will prepare a report that will summarize its work. Within the scope of our work, we will focus on, for example, two such interesting cases – the first is Ryszard Schnepf, who is a candidate for ambassador to Rome. It is also very characteristic that Ryszard Schnepf, the son of a Red Army soldier, later of the Polish People's Army, a soldier who participated in the Augustów roundup directed against Home Army soldiers and the patriotic civilian population, who did not agree to Russian domination in our country after the end of World War II, is to replace Ambassador Anders, the daughter of General Anders – stated Mariusz Błaszczak in the Sejm. Well, Mr. Ryszard Schnepf once stated that after reading Sputnik, a Russian portal, he concluded that the Su-55, a Russian aircraft, is better than the F35, an American aircraft, the most modern in the world – he continued. The team will try to explain what motivated Ryszard Schnepf to present such a thesis. The second interesting figure from this point of view is retired General Różański, today a senator of the Third Way, chairman of the national defense committee in the Senate, who once criticized permanent American bases in Poland, claiming that it was too provocative towards Russia, that it could cause dissatisfaction in Russia – the head of the PiS club emphasized. The team will be led by Marcin Przydacz, with Andrzej Śliwka as his deputy.

09:03

Sawicki:

Perhaps Mucha Misses Civic Coalition. The Third Way Needs Development, This Project Must Return to Its Roots
- No - Marek Sawicki said on Radio Zet, when asked if the Polish People's Party (PSL) and Poland 2050 should go their separate ways. - Perhaps Ms. Joanna Mucha misses the Civic Coalition again, because if we analyze the results of both the local and recent European Parliament elections, it's precisely the Polish People's Party that contributes more votes to this project. However, this doesn't mean that because we didn't run for an equal share of votes in the parliamentary elections, we should dissolve this project today. This project needs work, this project needs development, and most importantly, this project must return to its roots from 1.5 years ago when it was formed, and clearly present this Third Way: a path of agreement, a path of peace, a path of cooperation on important matters, even with today's opposition - he continued. - Of course, I respect Ms. Mucha's views, but on this matter, I completely disagree with her [that the Third Way coalition causes more harm than good] - he went on to say.

Ociepa Calls for Disclosure of Details Regarding Soldiers' Detention:

Show the recording, tell us about it.
- If what we are hearing is true, that soldiers improperly used their weapons, it's not rocket science. Show it, or the recording, and if there are investigative reasons or sensitive data, then simply tell us about it, and that's what an information point or questions on current matters during a Sejm session is for – stated Marcin Ociepa in an interview with Marcin Fijołek on the program ,,Graffiti” on Polsat News. - This argument absolutely convinces me that we were right to posit the thesis that there was a lack of sensitivity and also certain experience in the leadership of the Ministry of National Defence. What is happening on the border is unprecedented in our history and extremely sensitive. I mean to say that if we make any mistake, and in my opinion a mistake was made in this matter, we send wrong, false signals to the thousands of other soldiers, Border Guard officers, and police on the border, regarding the expectations we set for them and whether the Polish state will stand behind them in a crisis situation, and that is the greatest crime – he continued.

09:12

Ociepa:

The Opposition's Biggest Grievance is the Charges Brought Against Detained Soldiers
- I have absolutely no regret that the Military Police intervened to investigate this matter, because it is natural. Every time shots are fired, the Military Police are called in, and it needs to be clarified, and that's very good. However, the point is that if irregularities of such a scale occurred, as emerges from media publications, these soldiers should have been summoned to their commander, the commander should have instructed them and possibly sent them for additional training, not for the prosecutor to bring charges against them, and that is the opposition's one major complaint – said Marcin Ociepa on Polsat News.

09:14

Ociepa on Investigative Committees:

Diverting Attention from the Government’s Mistakes.
- We are witnessing an unprecedented situation, namely, firstly, the ruling party has appointed as many as three investigative committees simultaneously, and if we count the one in the Chancellery of the Prime Minister regarding Russian influence, which was supposed to be the fourth committee, but was blocked by coalition partners because they saw that these three investigative committees were already compromising themselves and they didn’t need a fourth one. I clearly see that they serve to divert public attention from the government, from the government’s mistakes, from the government’s omissions – stated Marcin Ociepa in Polsat News.

09:17

Sawicki:

I See a Possibility of Kosiniak-Kamysz Becoming Prime Minister
- There isn't - Marek Sawicki said on Radio Zet, when asked if there were no chances for a joint government of PiS, PSL, and Konfederacja still within this parliamentary term.

- Kosiniak-Kamysz is an experienced politician, but still young and promising. Therefore, I am convinced that he will be prime minister yet, but he doesn't necessarily have to be prime minister with PiS in this term - he continued.

- Everything is possible, because again, if we refer to today's reports in Rzeczpospolita, we learn that Donald Tusk might become Ursula von der Leyen [...] he could take the position of President of the European Commission. So if he becomes President of the European Commission, he will have to indicate a prime minister for the Polish government or possibly agree within the coalition on a prime minister - he went on to say, when asked if it was possible that Kosiniak-Kamysz would become prime minister within the current coalition still in this term.

- I think the latter is more likely, that it's more about the presidential elections and then a path might open where Donald Tusk expects the support of coalition partners, meaning Trzecia Droga, and here I clearly see a possibility that indeed Kosiniak-Kamysz could become prime minister, and Szymon Hołownia would remain Speaker of the Sejm - he added.

09:36

Sawicki on an Alternative Proposal:

We Are Not at a Level of Development to Introduce a 4-Day Work Week.
- I believe we are truly not at the level and stage of development where we should introduce a 4-day work week. We could consider whether it's not appropriate to shorten the workday from 8 to 7 or 7.5 hours, and utilize that extra half hour, for instance, for various breaks during work - Marek Sawicki said on Radio Zet.

09:58

Trzaskowski on Running for President:

I Will Never Lack Determination.
- Dear Ladies and Gentlemen, the decision is ahead of us [regarding running for president], but I have run in elections many times and I have never lacked determination. This is the most important thing, because this determination will be very, very necessary, and of course, Campus Polska Przyszłości is an event entirely independent of political parties and politics, but on the other hand, it always begins a certain political season. Therefore, a lot will certainly happen at Campus, it is of course not the moment to start any campaign, but in the autumn, we all know that KO will be making final decisions, and I have always said that I will never lack determination – stated Rafał Trzaskowski at a press conference in Warsaw.

10:07

Sejm Completes Membership of Three Investigative Committees

Following the European elections, some MPs who were members of investigative committees obtained mandates as Members of the European Parliament (MEPs), causing their parliamentary mandates to expire. Today, in a block of votes, the Sejm elected their successors.

Tomasz Kostuś from Civic Coalition (KO) and Krzysztof Szczucki from Law and Justice (PiS) were elected to the investigative committee concerning postal elections.

Bartosz Kownacki and Paweł Szrot from PiS, along with Przemysław Witek from KO, were elected to the investigative committee regarding the visa scandal.

Patryk Jaskulski from KO was elected to the investigative committee concerning Pegasus.

11:35

Duda:

12,000 Allied Soldiers Participating in BALTOPS-24 Drills
- I spoke about the ongoing international, allied NATO exercises in and around the Baltic Sea, primarily BALTOPS-24. Our naval forces are also participating in the drills, which involve 20 countries in total and are taking place throughout the Baltic Sea basin. In total, 50 warships, 25 aircraft, 60 helicopters, and 12,000 soldiers from allied forces, representing 20 countries, are participating in the exercises. The Polish Armed Forces and the Polish Navy are also involved – stated President Andrzej Duda at a press conference in Gdynia.

11:37

Duda:

Maintaining Access to Our Baltic Ports is Crucial for Poland's Security
- The Baltic Sea is of key importance, it also includes our seaports, it is our critical infrastructure, it is maintaining the possibility of trade and supplies to Poland, as well as combat support, and military support, maintaining the security of our Baltic coast, maintaining access to our ports is of key importance from the perspective of the Republic of Poland's security – said President Andrzej Duda at a press conference in Gdynia.

11:55

Dziemianowicz-Bąk Attacks Coalition Partners: "Together with Konfederacja, They Voted Against Workers"
- KO, PL2050, PSL, and Konfederacja, shoulder to shoulder, voted today against workers, knocking the teeth out of the whistleblower protection bill - Agnieszka Dziemianowicz-Bąk wrote on social media. - If an employee reports the mistreatment of a pig on a farm, they will be covered by whistleblower protection. But if they report that their boss is harassing their female colleagues, they will not receive such protection - she stated. - It is a sad day when the Sejm values livestock more than Polish employees - added the Minister of Family, Labour and Social Policy. Dziemianowicz-Bąk refers to today's vote in the Sejm regarding the Senate's amendments to the whistleblower protection bill. One of these amendments proposed removing labor law from the list of areas within which a legal violation can be reported. The bill, which included labor law, was adopted by the government and the Sejm; however, labor law was removed in the Senate. Today, the Sejm – with the votes of the majority of MPs from KO, PSL, PL2050, and Konfederacja – adopted this Senate amendment. The majority of the PiS and Lewica clubs voted against its rejection.

12:11

Hołownia:

We Had an Incident. Someone Was on the Roof

- I can only confirm that we had an incident yesterday, probably at night, early in the morning. I have asked the Commander of the Marshal's Guard for an explanation and I am to receive a report on the matter. Indeed, for now, it looks like one of the MPs might have been involved - stated Szymon Hołownia in an interview with TVN24.

Indeed, we had an incident. Someone was on the roof where they shouldn't have been, because generally, one shouldn't be on the roof at 3 or 4 in the morning - added the Marshal of the Sejm.

12:20

Matecki Explains Why He Climbed Onto the Roof and Accuses Hołownia of Lying:

You Can See the Rule of Law Violations Better from Above.
- You can see the state of rule of law violations in Poland better from above. [I climbed onto the roof] to take a nice picture of myself. [...] To get onto the roof, take a short picture, and that's it, the whole scandal. [...] I was [sober], of course. I didn't see any Marshal's Guard there. [...] I took a picture and returned to my room, no one stopped me - Dariusz Matecki told journalists. - He is lying - he continued, when a journalist pointed out that Szymon Hołownia was talking about an incident involving him, which the Marshal's Guard had to resolve. - There are barriers - he went on, when asked about security. - If someone says that some Marshal's Guard pulled me down, that is a lie. No one intervened - he added.

12:49

Kosiniak-Kamysz:

We Have Over 200,000 Soldiers. We Are One of NATO's Strongest Armies
- I will start with breaking news, which I received from Gen. Kukuła, the Chief of the General Staff of the Polish Armed Forces. The Polish army has over 200,000 soldiers. Recruitment is increasing, and we are allocating more funds dedicated to soldiers' salaries. There are many people willing to join the army. This year will be a record-breaking year; it is already evident today that it is a record year in terms of recruitment for the Polish army - said Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz at a press briefing in Brussels. - We are one of NATO's strongest armies. In the land domain, Poland is exceptionally strong. This is a reason for our pride and great gratitude towards all soldiers of the Polish Armed Forces who have joined the Republic of Poland's Armed Forces in various branches of service - he continued.

12:59

What About the American Patriots? Kosiniak-Kamysz's Clear Declaration After Talk with US Secretary of Defense
- I will start with my conversation with the US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin. Very important information, as some fake news also appeared on this matter. The presence of American Patriot batteries was personally confirmed by the Secretary of Defense. Nothing changes here regarding the security of the Jasionka airport - said Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz at a press briefing in Brussels. - Polish Patriots also remain in Poland, as someone also tried to spread a kind of fake news on this matter. [...] The presence of American troops, as well as equipment, and the durability of this presence have been confirmed - he added.

13:05

Kosiniak-Kamysz:

Poland to Jointly Command Baltic Sea with Germany and Sweden on a Rotational Basis
- Regarding deterrence and defence, we have made decisions concerning the strengthening of command here in Europe, with very important tasks confirmed for Szczecin, for the Multinational Corps Northeast in Szczecin. And very important information: Poland, together with Germany and Sweden, will be serving as the rotational commander of the Baltic Sea. I have been advocating for this from the very beginning when I became minister - said Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz at a press briefing in Brussels.

13:21

Kosiniak-Kamysz:

Two Sundays with Shops Open Monthly Worth Considering
- If there were two [trading] Sundays, for which 200%, or perhaps 250% would be paid compared to regular days, then such a project is worth considering and guaranteeing two days off for employees for sure - said Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz at a press briefing in Brussels. - This is a proposal that OPZZ, the trade unionists, once made. I think it is worth reflecting on it - he added.

13:58

Kaczyński:

Civic Platform Always Turned Democracy into Manipulation. It Doesn't Recognize the Rules of Democracy

- Civic Platform has always turned democracy into manipulation. This was the case during their 8 years in power, I spoke about it once, justifying the no-confidence vote against Tusk's government, and one can say that it was also the case later when they were in opposition, and it's the same today, only that this process has taken on a incomparably more advanced and dangerous character and has various far-reaching consequences. Because if you look at the fundamental tasks of the state and the nation, the Civic Platform government not only fails to fulfill them, but consciously or unconsciously, due to its external ties and external conditioning of its actions, it simply acts to the detriment of both the state and the nation - stated Jarosław Kaczyński at a PiS press conference.

- A great harm to the state is the constant breaking of the law, assuming that what we consider law is law, the violation of the Constitution. Public television, the prosecution service are the most well-known issues, but changes were made against the law in many other places. These were institutions where terms of office apply, terms of office have a guarantee character, for example, in the institution that conducts audits in Poland, and a change was also made there - added the PiS leader.

- It [Civic Platform] does not recognize the rules of democracy, the fact that it can lose elections, and it does not approach this as normal democratic parties do, which is of course to try to win subsequent elections, but to accept the existing state of affairs - he continued.

14:15

Kaczyński:

We are dealing with clearly emerging signs of a financial crisis

- We are also dealing with clearly emerging signs of a financial crisis. And this may cause that indeed all of this will be impossible, because how this government rules, whether it's in Warsaw or in Poland, there is no money, and it so happens strangely that this terrible government of ours, which according to TVN is supposed to transfer billions from public funds to private accounts, let them show these accounts and billions, well, this government somehow always has money - stated Jarosław Kaczyński at a PiS press conference.

14:15

Kaczyński on PiS potentially losing subsidies:

With this government, of course, anything is possible.
- With this government, of course, anything is possible, it doesn't recognize law, it doesn't recognize any normal principles of functioning in a democratic state [...]. This government undoubtedly strives to ensure there is no real political competition here - said Jarosław Kaczyński at a press conference, when asked if he believed it was possible for PiS to lose subsidies. - We are prepared for various scenarios, but nevertheless, we will continue to fight - he continued.

14:20

Kaczyński on the Consequences for Matecki for Walking on the Roof:

At Least a Reprimand.
- I don't really know why he [Dariusz Matecki] was walking on the roof. [...] We are, of course, at the stage of clarifying what it was about, what was happening there, whether it was an inappropriate joke, or some desire to watch the sunrise [...] or something else – Jarosław Kaczyński said at a press conference. - If it was about the sunrise, well, it's certainly not a good thing, because one shouldn't walk on roofs, but I wouldn't call it a terrible crime. However, there will be at least some reprimand, and if it was worse, then there will be further consequences – he continued.

15:01

Szłapka Waives His Immunity:

As Promised.

- As promised, today I waived my immunity. I did it immediately after receiving the relevant letter from the Marshal of the Sejm - Adam Szłapka wrote on Twitter.

15:27

Hołownia:

Matecki Walked on the Roof for 7 Minutes, from 3:30 to 3:37 AM
- Today, in the presence of the Commander [of the Marshal's Guard], I reviewed the video recordings of this incident. Indeed, MP Matecki walked on the roof of both building F and building S for 7 minutes, from 3:30 to 3:37 AM. Afterward, he returned through a window to his hotel room on the fourth floor of the Sejm hotel - Szymon Hołownia told journalists in the Sejm. Hołownia also read a note from the Commander of the Marshal's Guard. It states that Matecki, who was walking on the roof, was noticed by the deputy commander of the shift, who ordered him to immediately leave the premises. Matecki did not accept the offer of assistance in escorting him.

15:35

Hołownia Requests Sanctions for Matecki: "Roofs Aren't For Nighttime Strolls"
- I state that a serious breach of order has occurred on the premises managed by the Chancellery of the Sejm [...] and in connection with the foregoing, I will submit an appropriate request for the punishment of the Honourable Member [Dariusz Matecki] to the Praesidium of the Sejm - Szymon Hołownia told journalists in the Sejm. - The Praesidium of the Sejm can decide on the financial penalty associated with this. The maximum range is from approximately PLN 12,000 to PLN 18,000. Of course, it can also be a lower penalty - he informed. - On the roofs of the Sejm hotel and other Sejm buildings, there are installations that, for an inexperienced person who has no guide and does not know how to behave there, can pose a mortal threat. [...] Moving around in the semi-darkness or before dawn on a roof where one can trip over a lightning rod, over installations, there are designated paths, can end with the loss of health or life. [...] A window is not a place from which one goes out onto the roof, a roof is not for walking on at night - he continued.

15:36

Matecki:

I Have Nothing to Reproach Myself For

- All media in Poland are currently asking me about the matter of taking a photo at 6 or 4 in the morning, when 7.5 thousand migrants are being turned back from Germany to Poland, in a situation where a PSL MP is talking about the tragic situation of energy companies, in a situation where CPK is not being built, in a situation where a nuclear power plant is not being built, all media in Poland are questioning me precisely about taking a photo – stated Dariusz Matecki in an interview with journalists.

- I have absolutely nothing to reproach myself for, I will ask you again, is it normal that all media are talking about this instead of talking about the situation in the country. This means the Marshal of the Sejm can walk on the roof, other MPs cannot, and can specifically invite friendly media there to do a live broadcast – he added.

18:35

"No Court Will Buy That." Tusk on the "Incompetent Defense Strategy"

- Fiddler on the Roof, or the 'incompetent defense' strategy. No court will buy that - Prime Minister Donald Tusk wrote on Twitter.

18:43

Matecki's Stroll on the Roof. The Chancellery of the Sejm Publishes Photos

Photos from surveillance cameras, showing Dariusz Matecki walking on the roof of the Sejm building, have been published on the Chancellery of the Sejm's website.

19:54

"I Have a Proposal: The Prime Minister Should Not Hide Comfortably Behind This or That Female Minister." Zandberg on Partnership Unions
- I am already a bit tired of this issue [partnership unions], not only because Donald Tusk promised it several years ago and I've heard almost every election that it would be dealt with immediately - said Adrian Zandberg in an interview with Grzegorz Kajdanowicz on TVN24's "Fakty po Faktach". - I have a proposal that the Prime Minister should not run away from responsibility, not hide comfortably behind this or that female minister. The Prime Minister also promised this, he promised it to voters many times and has broken his word many times. We heard it would be in January, then in February, then in March. I have a proposal: if this cannot be your government project, okay, then just say so, let's vote on it in parliament and see who votes for, who votes against, who abstains. It's really that simple - he continued.

19:59

Pasławska on European Parliament Election Results:

Today PiS and Konfederacja Win Together Again.
- These elections showed that even the first one, who was very happy, i.e. Civic Platform, I have that impression, but I say this with sympathy, that they were as happy as PiS was on October 15th, because what did these elections show? That today PiS and Konfederacja win together again - said Urszula Pasławska on TVN24.

20:02

Pasławska on the Trzecia Droga Project:

I Believe It Will Continue.
"I believe it is a very interesting project by young leaders who have built an alternative to the two major political formations, and I believe it will continue" - said Urszula Pasławska on TVN24 when asked about the future of Trzecia Droga.

20:10

Millions Are Disappointed With How Governance Looks. Zandberg on the Source of PiS's Strong Election Results
- In reality, PiS, after all these thefts and incompetence, should have been gone long ago, and yet we are seeing a good result for PiS. Does it stem from PiS gaining new voters? No, it stems from the fact that millions of people are disappointed with how the change in autumn looked and how governance looks, and they did not go to the polls – said Adrian Zandberg on TVN24. - I heard from people on the streets in these last days of the campaign: where are the apartments, where are the civil partnerships, why are there long queues for doctors again, why are energy prices, gas prices going up. People told me: if this is how it's going to look, then I'm not going to vote. And what do we see: turnout has fallen very sharply. This is a voter strike, yes, voters did not go to vote – he continued.
