Czarzasty:

I Am Not Against Establishing a Committee to Investigate Russian Influence in Poland
I am not against establishing a committee to investigate the history of Russian influence in Poland, because Russian influence is present throughout Europe. We are in the midst of a war in Ukraine, and this has always been the case. I don't see, meaning Poles have a tendency to jump to extremes. I know this sentiment: why do we need a committee when the services should function well? Respecting Szymon [Hołownia], as we have reconciled, everything is fine, I have this question: what prevents the functioning of a committee composed of outstanding specialists alongside the excellent functioning of the services? There will always be a situation where the services miss something that a committee might find. I stand for Poland's security, but from this, I draw the conclusion: if the actions of a special committee help us in security, it should be established, and the services should work as best as possible – stated Włodzimierz Czarzasty in "Jeden na jeden" on TVN24.

07:56

Czarzasty on the Russian Commission: I'm telling my coalition partners – have more faith
The problem with the previous Russian commission was that we actually knew the outcome of its work before it was even established. It was clearly politicized and clearly set against one individual. Therefore, there is some difference. More faith – I'm telling my coalition partners, after all, we promised Polish women and men objectivity, rationalism, and distance from all of this – stated Włodzimierz Czarzasty on TVN24's "Jeden na jeden" program.

08:19

Sienkiewicz:

Power Under Such Pressure as I Was, Wears Out Faster Than I Could Have Predicted
- Firstly, power under such pressure as I was, wears out faster than I could have predicted. Let's put these issues aside, including health issues - said Bartłomiej Sienkiewicz in an interview with Marcin Fijołek on Polsat News's "Graffiti," when asked about the reasons for running for the European Parliament.

08:20

Czarzasty:

I Don't Believe Duda
Perhaps I'll speak for myself. I don't believe President Duda. This is because everything Minister Bodnar, whom I do believe, is doing is a result of what President Duda signed in the past. Consequently, people change, but they also bear responsibility for it. President Duda knows my position on this matter - stated Włodzimierz Czarzasty in "Jeden na jeden" on TVN24.

08:27

Sienkiewicz:

Tusk sought a team of elephants, but fighting ones, not those wanting a quiet retirement in the EP
- The fundamental matter is this: a new task. In fact, the issue of public media, from the moment of registration by a full-fledged court, with three judges, in an expanded composition, closes a certain chapter - said Bartłomiej Sienkiewicz in Polsat News's "Graffiti", when asked about the reasons for running for the European Parliament. - The second matter: something has changed in our world. To be honest, Donald Tusk was looking for a team of elephants, but this time fighting ones for the European Parliament, not those who want to go for a quiet retirement - he emphasized. - I like new challenges. It seems to me that for Poland, Polish security, Polish raison d'état, and for what is happening in Europe, this might be a crucial term. I would like to take part in it - he stated.

08:30

Czarzasty:

The Wall Must Be Strengthened, But There's One Condition We're Setting

- Regarding the wall [on the border] – I believe the wall needs strengthening, but there is one condition that we are setting and stating everywhere, including to the government. People cannot be dying there, for God's sake. It cannot be that somewhere in a swamp we'll be fishing people out at this crossing – stated Włodzimierz Czarzasty in "Jeden na jeden" on TVN24.

08:34

Czarzasty:

Partnership Law Will Pass When the PSL Withdraws Its Objections

- [The partnership law will pass] when the PSL withdraws its remarks and reservations. Everything in due time, because at the moment this law is at the government level, Minister Kotula is leading it - stated Włodzimierz Czarzasty on TVN24's "Jeden na jeden" program.

08:38

Sienkiewicz:

One of the Greatest Misfortunes of Polish Debate, Public Media, Has Been Stopped. The Fact I Had the Opportunity to Participate in This is a Reason for My Pride
- It's hard to find more serious matters than those I've been dealing with for five months. It was an absolute breakthrough in Polish politics, and I am aware that I am one of its co-authors. It was the stopping of one of the greatest misfortunes of Polish debate, namely public media, which were turned into a mechanism of hatred and division among Poles – said Bartłomiej Sienkiewicz in „Graffiti” Polsat News. - The fact that I had the opportunity to participate in this, along with many colleagues, is a reason for my pride and gratitude that I could do it – he added.

08:48

Sienkiewicz:

Yes, I was meant to be a buffer at the Ministry of Culture
- Yes, it was purely political work, including within the ministry, I won't hide it. It was 8 years where Polish culture was essentially hijacked by one political party. Restoring freedom to Polish culture was as important a tool as [public] media - Bartłomiej Sienkiewicz stated in "Graffiti" on Polsat News. - However, all of this leads to a certain politicization of the Ministry of Culture. It was obvious that my successor had to be someone who would restore this balance. The Ministry of Culture is for creative communities and for culture recipients. Meanwhile, 8 years of political action by my predecessor - and my own 5 months of necessity reversing his attack on artistic freedom and liberty - were inherently political - he explained. When asked if he was meant to be a "buffer", he replied: Yes.

08:52

Sienkiewicz:

I don't know if I'll return to Polish politics from the European Parliament. My rule in life is not to plan
- I don't know that [if I will return to Polish politics from the European Parliament]. I generally have one rule in life – I don't plan. If you are a politician, the more you plan, the louder the laughter of history is heard from behind you – said Bartłomiej Sienkiewicz in the "Graffiti" program on Polsat News.

08:57

Schetyna:

The Competency Act is Completely Artificial. The Government Will Appoint the Commissioner, and No Laws Will Change That
- This was the result of agreements between President Duda and Jarosław Kaczyński, months or over a year ago, still of course before the elections, under the previous government [...] President Duda signed some laws in exchange for wanting to have influence on policy, specifically on this so-called competency act. It's not serious, to put it plainly, because it's completely artificial and unrealistic - Grzegorz Schetyna said in an interview with Renata Grochal on the program "Bez Uników" on Trójka. - It will be the government that appoints the commissioner, any government, the one that has a parliamentary majority, and no laws will change that. This is a very firm signal from the Prime Minister that in foreign policy, the Constitution is paramount, the Constitution is paramount in general, but especially in the provision that the government conducts foreign policy - he continued.

08:57

Hennig-Kloska on Carriages at Morskie Oko: "We will discuss this on Friday. We need to take a step forward."

- On Friday, we will discuss this. We definitely need to take a step forward in solving the problem, however, radical solutions cannot be introduced overnight - stated Paulina Hennig-Kloska in an interview with Bogdan Rymanowski on the "Gość Radia Zet" program.

- On Friday, we will be talking; I am going to the Tatra National Park. We have invited representatives from the Viva! foundation and representatives of local communities, including the carriage drivers who work on the route to Morskie Oko, and we will want to discuss possible solutions - she added.

08:59

Hennig-Kloska on whether the Migration Pact will bring Poland only benefits: Not necessarily, but we will demand money for Poland

- Not necessarily, but within the framework of the pact, we will demand money for Poland - stated Paulina Hennig-Kloska in the "Gość Radia Zet" program.

09:01

Hennig-Kloska on the Energy Voucher: A Project for the People, We Did Everything We Could
- President Kaczyński's pronouncements are sometimes difficult to understand and a bit illogical. PiS yesterday, after 4 hours of work, supported the bill in committee and declared their support for this project on the plenary floor. One does not, I will remind you, support bad projects while in opposition. It is a project that serves the people, and we did everything we could – stated Paulina Hennig-Kloska on the program "Gość Radia Zet".

09:05

Sawicki:

What's Happening in the Sejm is an Organized Political Action, Not a Farmers' Protest

- I have the impression that at least 1/3 were not farmers, so it is an organized political action, not a farmers' protest. Moreover, it is difficult to find a representation of farmers today, when there are over 180 organizations that engage in discussions with the Prime Minister, with the Minister of Agriculture, and at the same time we have several dozen so-called nationwide committees in the country. I meet with one of them in central Podlasie quite regularly, we are preparing certain solutions, but even within a group of forty-something in my region, developing a common stance and common postulates is not easy at all – stated Marek Sawicki in the program "24 Pytania Rozmowa Poranka" on PR24.

- What is happening in the Sejm, in my assessment, is definitely [a political initiative]. I will say this, I have invited guests to the Sejm many times, and none of the groups, none of the individuals were brought in with television cameras, and this group was indeed brought in with the assistance of television cameras, so that for a specific time, they would have good propaganda material – he continued.

09:06

Sienkiewicz:

A New Wave of Refugees from Ukraine Could Appear at Any Moment. Discussions About Accepting Additional Refugees Are Simply Impossible
- We are in a situation where the front in Ukraine could collapse at any moment. This means the Russians could advance further. This means we could have a new wave of refugees; we must be prepared for this possibility at any time. Discussions about us, given such a threat, also accepting refugees from the Mediterranean or other directions, are simply impossible - Bartłomiej Sienkiewicz stated in "Graffiti" on Polsat News. - The Migration Pact contains a clause that can be utilized. Of course, our opponents say: this is a clause that can be used, but the EU will not agree, it is discretionary. I understand their concerns because in the EU, no one took the government of Mateusz Morawiecki seriously. […] Something has changed since October 15th; the future of the EU is currently being decided by Donald Tusk, along with the leaders of other major countries - he argued. - The Prime Minister knows what he is saying. Large countries, which carry significant weight, can set their conditions. In fact, Donald Tusk said it directly: this is our condition. We want to use this clause and we will enforce it politically - he emphasized.

09:08

Sawicki on Tusk's Statements on the Migration Pact: Surprising Remarks, the Prime Minister Knows Perfectly Well the Pact Does Not Apply Retroactively

- These are surprising statements because the Prime Minister knows perfectly well that the migration pact does not apply retroactively. It will only come into effect in mid-2026 and will cover the state of migration, the migratory pressure, precisely during the period from mid-2026 onwards. The previous government did not utilize what was our national wealth and our sacrifice made towards Ukraine, attacked by Russia; we transferred over 6 million Ukrainians through Poland – said Marek Sawicki on PR24.

- I do not believe in the Union's effectiveness in this regard, because I believe that first and foremost, a large humanitarian fund needs to be created and food delivered where it is needed. Secondly, we need to seriously tackle, through Interpol and all possible services, the illegal trafficking of people, the illegal transport of these people – he added.

09:15

Schetyna on Senate Amendment to KRS: Everything Points to a Return to Negotiations. I Was Absolutely Astonished That This Amendment Lacked the Approval of the Judicial Community
- I will defend the Senate and the Senate's decision [regarding the amendment allowing so-called neo-judges to run for the new KRS] [...] there was a meeting with the Minister of Justice, with Adam Bodnar, also a fellow senator, who recounted, spoke, and conveyed the findings of the Venice Commission's opinion, the consequences of these events, we discussed it, he spoke of consultations with various communities. [...] That was the proposal, that was the opinion, it directly stemmed from the Venice Commission's opinion, that was the suggestion of the Minister of Justice. [...] The Minister of Justice is the custodian of this bill, and he sets the terms. I believe here it should be 'yes, yes,' 'no, no,' meaning, today I understand the decision to cancel the Justice Committee meeting in the Sejm; it was supposed to take place at 8:30 AM and prepare, and address the amendments we introduced. If it's not happening, the matter returns to discussion and the negotiation table with the communities - said Grzegorz Schetyna on Trójka. - Yes [it is possible that the Senate's amendment will be changed], perhaps, meaning, everything points to a return to discussion about specific provisions. [...] Politicians of the parliamentary majority cannot today make decisions regarding the future of the judicial community without the approval of that community. [...] I do not think this is a mistake; the Senate, after a long conversation with the Minister of Justice, made such a decision following the Minister of Justice's suggestion. We are, after all, providing guarantees for the parliamentary majority; it is difficult to imagine that we would say that a government representative presented a concept, and we rejected it. We are, after all, the support base for the government - he continued. - I did not expect it; I was convinced, when voting for this amendment after that meeting, that this amendment had the community's approval. It was obvious to me. I was absolutely astonished when it turned out that it did not - he added.

09:20

Schetyna:

If Saryusz-Wolski is Kaczyński's and Duda's candidate, his chances for any European position are zero
-If [Saryusz-Wolski] is the candidate of President Kaczyński, President Duda, then his chances are zero [...] for any position in Europe after the elections. Because the Polish government will point the way here - said Grzegorz Schetyna in Trójka.

09:25

Sienkiewicz on the Situation at the Belarusian Border: While the First Waves of Refugees Might Have Been Naive, After 2 Years People Are Arriving There Out of Cold Calculation
- What has changed is that the barrier that was built - which we said from the beginning protects against nothing - can, according to calculations, be opened, the bars bent, in 15 seconds. This means that a propaganda stunt was carried out. How many times did our predecessors film themselves in t-shirts with the inscription MSW, in operetta-like pseudo-uniforms against the backdrop of a barrier that protects against nothing? - said Bartłomiej Sienkiewicz in "Graffiti" Polsat News. - While the first waves of refugees might have still been naive individuals who thought that Lukashenka's invitation to Minsk for the migration route was made in good faith, after two years, people are actually arriving there out of cold calculation. It simply pays off for them to try to cross through Belarus - he continued. - They have mobile phones. On all portals across the wider Middle East and more distant countries, this crossing is described as dangerous. If someone has found themselves there, they have done so of their own volition, and let's not pretend otherwise - he continued. - Lukashenka deceived people seeking a way to Europe, talking about a safe migration route through Poland. This was part of the hybrid warfare. However, after two years, the vast majority know that this is not a convenient route and that in reality, it is a completely different story - he added.

09:40

Hołownia:

Next Week's Sejm Session Will Be Two-Day, Not Three. Campaigns Do Not Serve Parliament in its Constructive Form
This Sejm next week will be two-day, not three-day as we planned. Also for this reason, let's be honest, election campaigns do not serve parliament in its constructive form very well; MPs are focused on the election campaign, and despite this, we are trying to do everything to develop [solutions] for the people, not for political parties – stated Szymon Hołownia at a press briefing.

09:45

Hołownia on the KRS Act: "The Committee is now the controller of the procedure. Chairwoman Gasiuk-Pihowicz is the right person to ask about it."
It [the KRS Act after Senate work] is in committee, which is considering the Senate's amendments. You know how it works, the Senate submitted its amendments, now the committee must prepare a report which will be presented to the Sejm, and the Sejm will vote on the amendments that the Senate has accepted. Chairwoman Gasiuk-Pihowicz has this in her hands now, she is working on this act. I haven't received any signal from her that it will be ready for this Sejm. Perhaps I will receive a signal that it will be ready for the next one. As soon as the Chairwoman signals that the committee is ready, we will immediately put it back on the Sejm agenda – stated Szymon Hołownia at a press briefing. This act is in committee, or rather, the Senate's resolution regarding amendments is in committee. The committee is now the controller of this procedure, and therefore I think Chairwoman Gasiuk-Pihowicz is the right person to ask about it – he continued.

10:01

Zandberg:

I encourage Domański to allocate more funds to support families at risk of energy poverty
- The costs of the energy transformation should be borne primarily by large corporations, big business, those who have made enormous profits from the current economic model, which was based on pushing up CO2 emissions and a lack of care for the natural environment and the future of the planet. And this is a major challenge not only for Poland but for the entire European Union, to truly burden the costs of transformation not on the ordinary person, not on the average Kowalski, but on those at the top of the social ladder - said Adrian Zandberg in an interview with Jacek Prusinowski on the program "Sedno Sprawy" on Radio Plus. - I know that many people, also in the Ministry of Climate, think similarly to us, understanding that higher spending is needed for these purposes [...] the primary recipient is probably not Donald Tusk, but Andrzej Domański. I encourage Andrzej Domański to reconsider these programs and to allocate more funds to support families at risk of energy poverty - he continued.

10:05

Zandberg:

Our Stance is Very Clear, We Simply Won't Support the 0% Loan
- No, our stance, I'm speaking on behalf of Razem, just to be clear [...] our stance is very clear here, we simply won't support the 0% loan - said Adrian Zandberg on Radio Plus, when asked about potential support for the so-called 0% loan in exchange for acceptance of the program for building rental housing.

10:14

Zandberg:

Mimicking PiS Won't Yield Long-Term Political Benefits. The Polish State Must Protect Borders While Upholding Human Rights
- I believe this is the wrong rhetoric. I believe that mimicking Law and Justice will not bring anyone long-term political benefit [...] I have a feeling that [Donald Tusk's] rhetoric is a copy of Law and Justice's rhetoric from years ago, I will not and do not intend to mimic this rhetoric. I believe that the Polish state has an obligation to protect its borders, there is no doubt about that, but the Polish state also has an obligation to uphold fundamental human rights, including protecting human life, and it is the duty of public authorities to ensure both the security of Poland's border and to prevent fundamental human rights from being violated - said Adrian Zandberg on Radio Plus. - I would rather hear concrete plans regarding how we want to reform reception centers in Poland, how we want to strengthen social services that work with people arriving at asylum centers. These are simply solvable issues, and perhaps they are not spectacular matters, because one cannot hold an interesting press conference with a nice backdrop about them, but they are simply concrete matters to resolve - he continued.

10:25

Hołownia:

State Services are Responsible for Catching Russian Agents; If You Want Another Commission, Explain Why We Need It
- The Prime Minister announced his desire or intention to establish such a commission in the media, so I am responding in the media. We have not had a conversation about this matter between us, it has not been initiated, there has been no opportunity for it, so if we are discussing it in the media, I am also giving my answers or expressing my opinion in the media – stated Szymon Hołownia at a press briefing. - When I spoke with government members recently, during a joint visit to the President's office, when they asked me why I was raising doubts, I answered directly. When PiS established that commission, the so-called Lex Tusk, which had one task: to catch Tusk and show that he is a Russian agent, my doubts that I expressed then were clear. State services are responsible for catching Russian agents - he continued. - If you want another commission, help me work through this argument of mine. Help me now to understand why we need another commission, rather than expecting the services to deal with Russian agents and Russian influence, because that is what they are for. This is about Occam's Razor, it's about not multiplying entities just for the sake of being in the public space - he continued.

12:29

Duda:

Growing Cooperation Between Poland and Qatar; Emir of Qatar Expected in Warsaw in Early July
- Yesterday there were meetings of a political nature, today more of an economic nature, because firstly, we have very important economic relations with Qatar, which also translate into Poland's security, primarily energy security. It should be recalled here that since 2015, we have had an agreement for gas supplies from Qatar to Poland [...]. We have investments that are currently being implemented at the port in Świnoujście by the Qatari company Qterminals, and we also have very good relations with Qatari airlines, which, among other things, opened their representation for Central Europe in Wrocław - President Andrzej Duda said at a press conference in Doha. - There is increasingly more cooperation between Poland and Qatar. In line with my agreements yesterday with His Highness the Emir, today we had a meeting with the Qatar Investment Authority, which is the largest Qatari investment fund, regarding potential further investment plans in Poland. We discussed this just now; we had a long bilateral meeting. Consequently, we expect representatives of the fund to visit Poland soon. Today, we also spoke with representatives of an energy group from the United Arab Emirates, which is implementing investments in green technologies in Poland, the acquisition of electricity from renewable sources, specifically concerning photovoltaics. We also discussed their further potential investments in Poland - he continued. - We expect the official visit of His Highness the Emir of Qatar to Poland, to Warsaw, at the beginning of July. I hope that by then, we will be able to speak about concrete agreements being made between our companies and Qatari partners - he added.

12:37

Duda:

Poland is a Highly Attractive Partner for All Considering Involvement in Ukraine's Reconstruction
- Security is a leading topic here all the time. Today, during our conversation with these partners from the Qatar Investment Authority, we discussed the situation in Ukraine. I presented them with the realities in Central Europe, and in that regard, I spoke about cooperation within the Three Seas Initiative in detail, [...] as well as the prospects that Poland offers in terms of future investments in Ukraine. I spoke about our infrastructure, I spoke about the possibilities that exist, and I also spoke about our relations with Ukraine and our perspective on Ukraine's future and our readiness to support all actions aimed at rebuilding Ukraine after wartime destruction, when the war ends, and it will certainly end, because every war eventually ends - said President Andrzej Duda at a press conference in Doha. - Today, Poland is indeed a highly attractive partner for all those who are considering their future participation in the reconstruction and rebuilding of Ukraine - he continued.

12:45

Biedroń on Szmydt: As the Left, We Support the Idea of Establishing a Special Commission within Government Structures

- As the Left, we support the idea of establishing a special commission within government structures (...) We believe that a good commission investigating Russian and Belarusian influences in Poland will not be bad. We need such a commission that will thoroughly, but also quickly, clarify these types of influences. We want professionals to be on it, people who enjoy cross-party and cross-political trust (...) As the Left, we will not allow ourselves to be fitted into a model where the state becomes a hostage of one political party or another. We went through that for the last eight years, and as the Left, we do not want to return to it. We will seek compromise regarding the composition of this commission, and we will cooperate with the Prime Minister on its establishment. We will not trip it up like others have tried to do, saying they are against it. We want a good commission that clarifies these kinds of cases – stated Robert Biedroń at a press conference in Bydgoszcz.

12:46

Duda:

It seems that today the same group that eagerly accepted judges from the PRL era into the ranks of the Third Republic judges now wants to differentiate judges.
- The act must have its final form and must arrive on the president's desk for me to review it. However, it is an obvious matter, and I have said this on numerous occasions, that all judicial nominations I have granted were decisions meticulously considered in every detail concerning the candidate for judge. If these nominations were made, and if a judge has taken the judicial oath before the President of the Republic of Poland, they are a judge just like any other judge - said President Andrzej Duda at a press conference in Doha, when asked if he would sign the KRS (National Council of the Judiciary) act after the Senate's amendment. - I can only shake my head with pity, because it seems that today the same group that eagerly accepted judges from the PRL era into the ranks of the Third Republic judges now wants to differentiate judges. Back then, they saw no problem with them being people who very often belonged to the communist party, and therefore carried out party directives - he continued.

12:54

Duda:

Security is the Most Important Issue Requiring Absolute Cooperation Between Authorities in Poland
- Today, the most important issue, an issue that requires absolute cooperation between the authorities in Poland, meaning between the President and the Prime Minister, and all representatives of the government and the parliamentary majority, is building security, ensuring security in all possible areas of this security, that is, both border security and military security – said President Andrzej Duda at a press conference in Doha. - I want to emphasize that I will do everything I can to ensure this cooperation between myself and the government goes as smoothly as possible. Besides, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs is present here in the delegation with me, so everything we are realizing here is being realized, one might say, jointly, in coordination with the government – he continued.

12:59

Duda Asked if He Will Sign the Silesian Language Act: "I'm Discussing This with Experts, Most Believe Silesia Has Many Dialects. These Are Simply Dialects, Most Often of a Local Character."
- I am also discussing this with experts, please remember that most experts, I'm talking about scientists, are of a clear opinion: that in Silesia there are many dialects spoken by people in individual towns, even within the area of Silesia. These are simply dialects, most often of a local character. This is the specificity of this diversification in Poland, this multiculturalism, which is very interesting and which is our treasure today - said President Andrzej Duda at a press conference in Doha, when asked if he would sign the act on the Silesian language.

12:59

Biedroń:

We Want to Urgently Introduce a Mechanism for Verifying Judges and Prosecutors

- We also want to bring about the urgent introduction of a mechanism where judges and prosecutors will be verified when they have access to classified, top-secret, and confidential documents. This is extremely important in the context of Judge Szmydt, who had such access - stated Robert Biedroń at a press conference in Bydgoszcz.

13:01

Müller:

We Appeal to Hołownia to Adopt the Bill on the Tax-Free Amount at the Next Sejm Session

- Marshal Hołownia announced today that next week's Sejm session will be shorter, stating that under these circumstances, the Sejm cannot work. This is not surprising, as the Council of Ministers is sending very few bills to the Sejm, and the bills that have been frozen are not being processed - stated Piotr Müller at a press briefing in the Sejm.

- We want to talk about the bill to raise the tax-free amount from PLN 30,000 to PLN 60,000. This bill, which was submitted by PiS, would simultaneously fulfill a key promise of PO. We want to help PO fulfill their own promises, which is why such a bill was submitted. The first reading took place at last week's session. Today, we appeal to Marshal Hołownia to address the bill on the tax-free amount at the next session and to adopt this bill at the following one - he continued.

13:16

Kaczyński on the Russian Commission: If the Prime Minister is the main suspect, it will be a good step

- If the main protagonist [before the commission for examining Russian influence in Poland], the suspect, is the Prime Minister, then yes [the establishment of the commission will be a good step] - stated Jarosław Kaczyński in the Sejm.

13:18

Buda:

After Two Days of Collecting Signatures for the Citizen Initiative on Energy Prices, We Have Over 10,000

- As of today, after two days of collecting signatures [for the citizen initiative aimed at halting energy price increases], we have over 10,000, in just a few locations, an amazing response. I am convinced that we will quickly gather 100,000 signatures. I think much more, to make it clear to the government that the situation is very serious - stated Waldemar Buda in the Sejm.

14:50

Grodzki:

I Want to Firmly Deny Any Obstruction by the Senate on the 'Envelope Election' Law. This Was About Proper Legislation
In the first sentence, I want to firmly, unequivocally, with all my might deny that the Senate caused any delay or any obstruction. This is not the first law that has passed through the Sejm at what was called legislative express speed. It seemed strange to us that a fundamental law, which removed the National Electoral Commission from elections, was being passed in the initial phase of the pandemic, when there were no vaccines yet, when we didn't know if this virus killed every second, every fifth, or every tenth person. Therapeutic recommendations were full of uncertainty. Did this law, which came to us on April 6th, meet the criteria of proper legislation and ensure a democratic form for conducting the election of the first person in the state, the President of the Republic? Because if it did not, it would be a disgrace to the democratic foundations of the Polish state – stated Tomasz Grodzki at the investigative committee for the 'envelope elections'.

15:35

Grodzki:

So Many Articles of the Constitution Were Violated That Organizing Mail-In Elections Would Be a Disgrace and Undermine the Foundations of a Democratic Rule of Law
- We believed that jeopardizing the lives and health of Poles just to force through elections on May 10th was the first argument [why the Senate rejected the bill]. The second, based on expert opinions from our best Polish lawyers – that so many articles of the constitution were violated that organizing elections in this manner would be a disgrace and undermine the foundations of a democratic rule of law – said Tomasz Grodzki before the investigative committee on mail-in elections.

15:58

Grodzki:

From a Doctor's Perspective, I Believed the May 10th Election Should Not Have Taken Place
- From a doctor's perspective, I believed that the [presidential] election on May 10th should not have taken place. However, I will recall that the president's term was ending on August 6th, so I had no moral reservations about voting to reject this bill, because I believed that – setting aside the constitutional and legislative errors of this bill – its enactment and the holding of this election would have been dangerous for the lives and health of Poles - said Tomasz Grodzki before the investigative committee regarding the postal ballot elections.

Siemoniak on Fires: Too Early to Speak of Causes, Investigations Underway. These Matters Need Thorough Analysis

- Currently, thorough investigations into these events are ongoing. The best specialists from the State Fire Service (PSP) and the police are working on these matters. It is too early to speak of the causes, as investigations are underway. Actions are being carried out by firefighters and police officers, and expert work is also necessary to determine the causes of these events. These matters need to be thoroughly analyzed; we are dealing with, at the very least, the impression of a series of these events. It is essential to clarify whether these incidents are connected in any way – stated Tomasz Siemoniak in the Sejm.

Tusk:

Attack on Slovak Prime Minister Shows What an Illusion It Was to Believe Easy Times Were Here to Stay
- We are in a special day. Today's attack on the Prime Minister of Slovakia shows what an illusion it was for some to believe that easy times, not requiring sacrifice or heroism, were here to stay - said Prime Minister Donald Tusk at the Chancellery of the Prime Minister (KPRM) during a meeting with veterans of the Battle of Monte Cassino. - We would like to live in a place and time where this heroism, this blood price, is not needed. We would like our children and grandchildren to live in different times than you had to live and fight in. You bore witness to the greatest courage, the greatest sacrifice, so that subsequent generations would not have to pay such a price - he continued.

Tusk:

Every day we witness violence, aggression. We need full mobilization and thoughtful, deep patriotism
- Poland, Europe, the World have once again found themselves at a dramatic crossroads. Everywhere, every day, we witness violence, aggression; a bloody war is raging beyond our border - said Prime Minister Donald Tusk at the Chancellery of the Prime Minister, during a meeting with veterans of the Battle of Monte Cassino. - I have a deep hope - although it is difficult to find hope today - that young people, at the age you were when you fought at Monte Cassino, will not have to pay such a price as your generation did. But just like today's attack, like the news every day - everything indicates that we need full mobilization and such thoughtful, deep patriotism. Such full responsibility for the homeland, for public affairs - he emphasized.

Siewiera:

The Scale of Recent Fires Raises Questions and Doubts, Necessitating Explanatory Proceedings
- I've mentioned this some time ago, annually in Poland, the fire brigade conducts half a million interventions, 500 thousand interventions. Fires constitute 100 thousand of these, 300 fires per day. The effectiveness of action in such a spectrum of cognitive warfare lies in the fact that it is enough to artificially, intentionally provoke a few such fires to instill intimidation, to create an effect of fear and apprehension among citizens who will see a threat and Russian special services at every step. Of course, the scale of recent fires raises certain questions and doubts, and therefore explanatory proceedings must be conducted. Services, the police, special services are acting – stated Jacek Siewiera in a conversation with Beata Lubecka on Radio Zet.

Siewiera:

We Should Ultimately Introduce a Form of Mandatory Civic Service, Equal for Both Genders
- We should consider, we should consider [mandatory military conscription]. If we are looking for specifics, then my opinion as the head of the National Security Bureau is: we should ultimately introduce a form of civic service, mandatory within a certain age range and equal for both genders, in the scope of civil defense and military service, with the possibility of choosing based on one's physical abilities, fitness level, and also the qualifications that a candidate for such service possesses. On the other hand, yes, I believe we should implement these types of civic service forms – said Jacek Siewiera on Radio Zet.

Siewiera:

We're Still Doing Too Little Today to Avoid War and Feel Secure
- I believe that today we are still doing too little to avoid it [war] and to feel secure. However, some actions are the right ones, and I'm thinking here primarily of a very important armament program that was initiated under the previous government and is now being continued. I'm also thinking about a cultural change, also within our society, a civic society, which is indeed beginning to engage significantly in this form of civic service we are discussing – stated Jacek Siewiera on Radio Zet.

Siewiera:

I'm Watching the Work on the Population Protection Act with Growing Concern Regarding Implementation Time
- I am observing the work on the population protection act with great attention, the President also expects this legal act to be introduced, and with growing concern, regarding the amount of time we have left for its implementation, should it be adopted – said Jacek Siewiera on Radio Zet.

Schetyna:

Judge Szmydt's Case Seems Classic and Typical, But There May Be Many More Such Instances
- There is a serious security threat, an enormously aggressive, hybrid operation by Russian services, and it seems we simply need to make a very good, accurate diagnosis of the state and scale of this threat. Judge Szmydt's case seems classic and typical, but there may be many, many more such cases. I will remind you that this man was not monitored in any way. His activities, functioning, trips to Belarus, were not monitored by the services in any way – Grzegorz Schetyna said in TVP Info's "Pytanie dnia" (Question of the Day). - Today, we must strengthen our Polish borders, truly invest in Polish security. Because if we hear that the border looks good on television, but is simply an easy target to breach by organized smuggling and criminal groups, then we truly need to effectively defend the Polish border – he continued.

Schetyna on the KRS Act: If Judges Don't Accept the Senate's Amendment, We'll Revisit This in a New Way. If There's a Signal That Duda Won't Sign It, We'll Have to Wait for a New President
- We are returning to consultations. If there is no acceptance from the judicial community for this amendment [to the KRS act], we will simply revisit this in a new way, Grzegorz Schetyna said on TVP Info. - If there is such a signal that President Duda will not sign [...] such an amendment [...] in its initial form, then I believe we must do everything to wait for a new president and a new term. We must be patient; we cannot do this against the judicial community, he continued.

Schetyna:

The President Will Either Cooperate with the Government on Key Issues or Be Marginalized Politically
- I have the impression that the President is saying, "I want to cooperate with the government, but on my terms." This was somewhat the case before he understood that according to the Constitution, which clearly states that foreign policy is conducted by the government. He didn't understand this until he heard very clearly that this is indeed the case - said Grzegorz Schetyna on TVP Info. - We must state this very clearly, and I believe that the President will either cooperate with the government on the most important matters and seek agreement, or he will position himself on the political fringe, because the advantage of the October 15th coalition in the Sejm and Senate is obvious - he continued.
