Tusk on Pardoning CBA Officers: Before We Know It, Duda Will Be Ready to Pardon the Entire PiS

- More CBA officers pardoned by Andrzej Duda. Before we know it, he will be ready to pardon the entire PiS - Prime Minister Donald Tusk wrote on Twitter.

Tomczyk on European Parliament Lists: They Cannot Be Anonymous Individuals. Whether the Polish Delegation in the EPP is Larger Than, for Example, the German One, Matters.
- We must ensure that at the head of these lists - and I'm talking here about Borys Budka, Marcin Kierwiński, Bartłomiej Sienkiewicz, and many others who will be at their forefront - are people who must truly take on the responsibility and burden of this campaign, because that is what is most important today - said Cezary Tomczyk in an interview with Marcin Fijołek on Polsat News's "Graffiti". - Let's also agree that it's not about putting forward some anonymous individuals. These must be people who have their voters, who have their weight, who have their political standing […]. Our ambition is to have greater representation than we have had so far, when it comes to the EPP, but for example, to win in this matter against Germany. Whether the Polish delegation is larger than, for example, the German delegation or any other, matters within the faction, and then we decide on the issue of European Commissioners, the Commission itself, and hundreds of billions of euros that go to Europe - he continued.

Arłukowicz:

Our EP Representation Proves We Take These Elections Very Seriously

- We are fielding very strong lists because we are going to fight for a very important cause. The Europe that lies ahead will no longer be the Europe we have known for many years. A Europe threatened by war, with bombs falling on our eastern border, shaken by pandemics, so all of this will look different, and this representation is proof that we are taking these elections very seriously and fielding a truly strong team – stated Bartosz Arłukowicz in the program ,,Sygnały Dnia” on PR1.

- Civic Coalition (KO) is a large political formation, we have a great many people, so these elections and these candidates who are on the lists today will certainly not change the face of the government and its functioning. This is a large party, a large coalition, therefore I see no problem here – he added.

08:26

Arłukowicz:

We Want to Win These Elections Because They Will Determine Whether Poland Has a Strong Position in the EU

- We certainly want to send a strong representation to the European Parliament, we want to win these elections, because these elections will be about whether Poland will have a strong position in Europe, whether we will return to the leadership position we once held. Whether we will be on the margins of Europe, perhaps outside of Europe, or perhaps our only partner will be Orban. In this regard, we are choosing between Kamiński, Wąsik, Kurski and politicians who understand Europe, want to work in Europe, have partners there, and do not have the ambition to lecture Europe on how to live and function, but rather want to seek compromises – said Bartosz Arłukowicz in PR1.

08:26

Arłukowicz:

Putin's Plan is to Destabilize the EU; It's His Vital Interest, and We Must Prevent It

- Donald Tusk is 100% right. What is happening in Ukraine today, this slightly delayed aid from the United States, the offensive by Russian troops which is certainly approaching, means that the whole of Europe is under threat. Poland is certainly not a place that can feel 100% safe today. Putin's plan is to destabilize the EU; his goal is for us in the EU, in the European Parliament, to get bogged down in discussions, to quarrel, to divide ourselves. This is his vital interest, and we must prevent it, that's why we are going there – stated Bartosz Arłukowicz on PR1.

Budka:

Government Reshuffle Will Happen in One Go, When Someone Resigns Doesn't Matter
- The Prime Minister said that the reconstruction will take place on the 10th [of May], we are still acting in our capacities, and there are still several important issues in the ministries. The head, meaning in this case the Prime Minister, decides on resignations - Borys Budka said on "TVP Info Morning." - A resignation occurs when the Prime Minister submits a motion to the President to dismiss a minister, and this will happen jointly [...]. The government reconstruction will happen in one go, so it doesn't matter at all whether someone resigns today, tomorrow, or the day after, because the Prime Minister decides when it will happen - he continued.

08:41

Budka:

The Ministry of State Assets Will Definitely Remain in KO's Hands
- The Ministry of State Assets will definitely remain in the hands of Civic Coalition - said Borys Budka on TVP Info.

08:47

Budka:

I hoped until the very end that Buzek would decide to run for another term
- I hoped until the very end that Professor Jerzy Buzek, Prime Minister, would decide to run for another term - said Borys Budka on TVP Info. - I am the last person to say something like ['I don't want to, but I have to']. I am used to fulfilling tasks and playing as a team; if such a necessity arises, a confluence of various circumstances, then of course it must be fulfilled - he continued.

08:49

Tomczyk on the Watch Purchase Scandal: In Błaszczak's shoes, I would tell the truth today. If he didn't know, it's a tragedy; if he did, it's a crime.
- Ms. Glapiak should resign, I have no doubt about it. In a country like the United States, this would be political death. This woman will face the prosecutor, the court. The Military Gendarmerie received this watch before the planned search because Ms. Glapiak simply handed it over - said Cezary Tomczyk in "Graffiti" Polsat News. - The mechanism was such that when PiS lost the elections, they wanted to give rewards to their people. Six million zlotys in bonuses were paid out, but there were also those who no longer worked at the Ministry of National Defence - like Ms. Glapiak, who was then at the National Broadcasting Council. Therefore, Ms. Glapiak, along with a certain group of people, devised a procedure to buy expensive items, then legalize them through appropriate documents, and pocket them - he explained. - This was the case with a luxurious women's Longines watch, which was described as intended for Minister Błaszczak to present to the Deputy Minister of Defence of South Korea, but it ended up directly on Ms. Agnieszka Glapiak's wrist - he emphasized. - This watch is the most expensive gift purchased in the history of the Ministry of National Defence. […] These are dozens of different matters that will be investigated by the prosecutor's office - he indicated. - Minister Błaszczak has been silent since yesterday. […] I don't know what Minister Błaszczak's knowledge on this matter was. It will emerge during the investigation whether Minister Błaszczak approved of this, whether he knew about it or not. […] In his place, I would tell the truth today and say how it is, I would distance myself from these people who disposed of expensive items purchased by the Ministry of National Defence in such a manner and I would clarify the matter. […] If he didn't know, it's a tragedy. If he knew, it's a crime - he continued.

08:54

Tomczyk:

Full Report on Macierewicz Commission Due by June 30th. Prosecutorial Complaints Will Be Filed.
- By June 30th – a full report regarding Antoni Macierewicz’s commission. Prosecutorial complaints will be filed, I think against a very large number of individuals. A great many people participated in the de facto waste of Polish money, in deceiving Polish citizens. We will never forget this, and there will be accountability – said Cezary Tomczyk on Polsat News’s “Graffiti”. - Antoni Macierewicz should be the king of this accountability and should have long ago ended up in the dustbin of history. I hope that after this report, that will be the case – he added.

Pełczyńska-Nałęcz:

KPO Funds Primarily Allocated to the 'Clean Air' Program

- The first disbursement from the KPO has arrived, and there will be more, totaling PLN 27 billion. These funds are primarily directed towards the 'Clean Air' program; yesterday, half a billion was allocated for this purpose. In addition, we are building 100,000 new places in nurseries. This also includes broadband internet across Poland, reaching areas where it was previously not economically viable – stated Katarzyna Pełczyńska-Nałęcz on the program "Sygnały dnia" on PR1.

Budka on PiS's European Parliament Lists: Lists of Convicted Individuals. Kamiński and Wąsik - I'll still understand that, but sending Obajtek to the EP is the height of it all.
- I don't want to be malicious, but these will be lists of convicted individuals [PiS's lists for the EP], because I'll remind you that if it weren't for the presidential pardon from President Andrzej Duda, we could be talking about Mariusz Kamiński and Mr. Wąsik as criminals. Now we have to say they were convicted but pardoned – Borys Budka said on TVP Info. - While I might still understand that [...] sending Mr. Obajtek to the European Parliament, a man who will be held responsible for major irregularities at Orlen, that's already an aberration. That's the height of it all, for Kaczyński to play with his voters in this way, to convince people that this man is not guilty of anything. I hope that services will escort Mr. Obajtek from there to the dock in a Polish court – he continued.

08:58

Pełczyńska-Nałęcz on KPO Funds: Will Also Support Agriculture, Processing, Modernization of Farming, and SMEs

- They will be for the support of agriculture, processing, modernization of farming, and small and medium-sized enterprises. These are currently the main directions in which we are investing. There will be further investments as well - stated Katarzyna Pełczyńska-Nałęcz in the program "Sygnały dnia" (Signals of the Day) on PR1.

09:00

Budka:

I Hope Fuel Prices Will Soon Fall Below 6 PLN
- The international situation will calm down, oil prices, I hope, will fall, and then it will be possible to sort things out. Please note what losses Orlen has to make today, what write-offs. I hope that soon fuel will fall below 6 PLN, and from what I know, Orlen will undertake some specific actions soon - said Borys Budka on TVP Info.

09:02

Pełczyńska-Nałęcz:

I Made a Commitment to Voters for Four Years, Not Four Months

- I made a commitment to the voters for four years, not four months. From the very beginning, I said I was taking on this responsibility, which is very significant, and requires implementation and a deep understanding of regional policy and investment funds. After four months, I feel I truly understand it - stated Katarzyna Pełczyńska-Nałęcz in the program "Sygnały dnia" on PR1.

"We're Showing a Red Card": PiS Submits Motion to Dismiss Hennig-Kloska
"We are today showing a red card to the Minister of Climate and Environment, Paulina Hennig-Kloska. We have prepared a motion of no confidence. As the PiS parliamentary club, we cannot agree to Poles living poorly," informed Marlena Maląg during a press briefing in the Sejm.

"We are submitting a motion of no confidence against Minister Paulina Hennig-Kloska. The scale of incompetence and chaos prevailing in the area of climate and environment is unbelievable. In essence, every decision and every move emanating from the Ministry of Climate and Environment is some kind of scandal. It started with the wind energy scandal, then there was the problem with freezing energy prices and difficulties in this regard, the exclusion of entrepreneurs, doing it hastily, then lobbyists worked on other projects. Subsequently, we have the problem with freezing energy prices from July. For months, information was conveyed that such freezing would not happen, but under pressure from the opposition, which is clearly our success, solutions were proposed. What kind? Dramatic ones, resulting in the fact that energy aid will be for a mere handful of people in society," said Waldemar Buda.

09:42

Hennig-Kloska:

I've Signed the Energy Price Act for the Second Half of This Year. It Ensures Stability
- I have just signed the energy price act for the second half of this year, following inter-ministerial consultations. It ensures stability for households, micro-entrepreneurs, and small and medium-sized enterprises. Everything is in line with EU law and has also been consulted with UOKiK, which raised some points - Paulina Hennig-Kloska announced on social media.

Hołownia Sets Deadline for Third Way's European Parliament Lists Presentation

- Today or Monday. We are still polishing the final details on the lists to make them as strong as possible. We are focusing on signatures; I was also collecting signatures in Warsaw today. We really want to register all the lists by Tuesday, so as not to wait until the 2nd [of May], the last possible deadline, and I hope we will manage to do it - stated Szymon Hołownia in a conversation with journalists in the Sejm.

12:55

Duda:

NATO States Should Decide to Increase Defense Spending Limit to at Least 3% of GDP
- I discussed with the President [of Lithuania] the issue of the proposal that I have been presenting for a month, which I first presented in Washington in the first half of March to President Joe Biden, as well as to representatives of the US Congress. The proposal is for NATO, for NATO members, to decide to raise the defense spending limit from the current 2%, adopted in 2014, to a minimum of 3% of GDP in each of the North Atlantic Alliance states – stated President Andrzej Duda at a press conference in Lithuania. - NATO states should decide to set a spending limit of at least 3% of their GDP in response to Russia's undoubtedly aggressive policy. Russia is militarizing, it has shifted its arms industry to war production, we know this very well now, it will probably continue to arm itself, and I believe that an adequate and decisive response is needed from NATO states. This is to strengthen deterrence, this is to build our military potential, not for the purpose of fighting, but only so that fighting is not necessary – he continued.

12:57

Duda:

Nuclear Sharing Program is on the Table, I Believe it is Increasingly Relevant
- In connection with the fact that this topic has recently emerged, as I have already said several times, [Nuclear Sharing] is not a new topic. This is a topic that has been raised by me and generally by Poland for several good years at meetings primarily with our greatest allies, by greatest I mean, of course, the United States and our other allies who possess nuclear weapons. This topic, therefore, I can say from my point of view, has been on the table, I repeat once again, for many years, and I believe it is becoming increasingly relevant for a reason, namely the attitude and actions of Russia – stated President Andrzej Duda at a press conference in Lithuania.

13:32

Błaszczak on the Migration Pact: If a Government Led by Tusk Continues to Rule, a Repeat is Unfortunately in Store
Yesterday in the Sejm, Minister Sikorski suggested that the migration pact would be adopted. He spoke more in the vein of needing to, as it were, accustom public opinion to the presence of migrants. What does this mean? That they will likely adopt the migration pact after the European Parliament elections - stated Mariusz Błaszczak at a press conference. - I mentioned that the Civic Coalition and PSL government once agreed to accept migrants, so it's likely that now, after the European Parliament elections, if this government led by Donald Tusk continues to rule, unfortunately, we will face a repeat once again. Another very important matter concerning the area I was recently involved with, namely the defense of our country. Namely, treaty changes also assume that defense matters become the exclusive competence of the European Union. This is extremely dangerous because it will then eliminate national policy, and our national policy aims to strengthen the Polish army - he added.

13:40

Brudziński:

Zero Trust in Tusk and von der Leyen – Conservative Parties Must Secure a Majority in the EP on June 9th

- This madness can be stopped, this insanity can be stopped. This Green Deal, or rather, green imbecility, can be stopped the moment conservative parties constitute a majority in the future European Parliament. Tusk is very afraid of this, very afraid, and now we hear that the guarantee of security in Europe is that his party, the EPP, together with the socialists, will maintain their majority. So, there will be deceptions pushed into public opinion – forgive the term – reaching for the left ear with the right hand. […]. Today, we must say clearly: zero trust in Tusk, zero trust in Civic Platform, zero trust in Ms. Johansson, Ursula von der Leyen, Weber in Brussels. Everything must be done to stop this madness, everything must be done so that on June 9th, conservative parties secure a majority in the European Parliament – stated Joachim Brudziński at a press conference.

14:03

Brudziński:

Ministers Appearing on Civic Platform's EP Lists May Indicate Tusk's Fear of PiS's Lineup

- Please focus on how Minister Sienkiewicz spoke over the past few months, what actions Minister Sienkiewicz took, what actions Minister Kierwiński took, Minister Budka, suddenly they are all on the Civic Platform's lists, why? Is it because Tusk is genuinely afraid that our lists will be so strong that we will engage in a real fight with them? Of course, I will repeat this once again, there is never enough humility in politics, we approach these elections very humbly – said Joachim Brudziński at a press conference.

15:27

Sikorski:

This is the first exposé of this government's term, so it had to account for 8 years of foreign policy conducted by our rivals
- This is the first exposé of this government's term, so by necessity it had to review and account for 8 years of foreign policy conducted by our rivals. If I supported the previous government, I wouldn't have run for the office I hold. And I criticized the previous government for initiating unnecessary conflicts with our most important partners, for violating EU treaties, for isolating Poland within the European Union, and generally for not seizing opportunities, such as the National Recovery Plan - said Radosław Sikorski during an online meeting on social media.

15:29

Sikorski:

We Want Two Insurance Policies: American and European
- I believe that the European Union becoming a geostrategic entity serves Poland. Because we want to have two insurance policies: an American, transatlantic one, and a second, European one - said Radosław Sikorski during an online meeting on social media.

15:36

Sikorski Asked If Poland Faces War with Russia: Only Putin Knows the Answer. I Hope He's Not So Crazy as to Dare Attack All of NATO
- This is one of those fundamental questions to which only the potential aggressor, Vladimir Putin, knows the answer. However, we can do what is within our power, which is to deter him from intentions he had and implemented towards Ukraine [...]. Thank God Poland would not be fighting alone this time, nor would it have to deter him alone, as has often been the case in our history. Ukraine, and even more so Poland, has the European Union and the United States behind it. I hope Putin will not be so crazy as to dare attack the entire North Atlantic Alliance, but to effectively deter him, we must prepare - said Radosław Sikorski during an online meeting on social media, responding to a question about whether Poland faces war with Russia.

15:40

Sikorski:

It's Not Always True That a Veto in the EU is Beneficial for Poland
- It's also not the case that a veto [in the EU] is always beneficial for Poland. We have a veto regarding the imposition of sanctions, Orbán abuses it to help Russia, and that is not beneficial for Poland at all – said Radosław Sikorski during an online meeting on social media.

15:44

Sikorski:

Russia Lies About Poland, Threatens Poland, Attacked Poland's Friend
- It is not possible to [strengthen diplomatic relations] with Russia. Russia lies about Poland, threatens Poland, attacked Poland's friend, Ukraine, vassalizes Belarus, sends spies and murderers here. So it won't be easy, as long as an autocrat who wants to rebuild an empire rules there - said Radosław Sikorski during an online meeting on social media.

19:41

Tusk:

If we were to tally up potential sentences for PiS leaders on the EP lists, it would amount to a good 20 years. Just in time for the 20th anniversary of joining the EU.

- If we were to tally up potential sentences for PiS leaders on the lists for the European Parliament, it would amount to a good 20 years. Just in time for the 20th anniversary of joining the European Union - wrote Prime Minister Donald Tusk on Twitter.

19:50

Sikorski:

I Stated Very Clearly That the Government is Skeptical About the Need for EU Treaty Changes
- There is no proposal for treaty changes [in the EU]. I stated very clearly that the government is skeptical about the need for treaty changes. Some countries might propose it, we should think about it, because Kaczyński gave away too much in the Lisbon Treaty. He agreed to abandon the Nice system, which was better for Poland than this double majority. The question is whether this can be reversed - said Radosław Sikorski in an interview with Marcin Fijołek on "Gość Wydarzeń" (Guest of Events) on Polsat News.

19:55

Sikorski:

Unanimity in Certain EU Areas Should Last Forever, But Regarding Sanctions, It Undermines Our Agency
- I believe that in certain areas, unanimity should apply for eternity. But for example, in matters of sanctions, we have learned that this does not strengthen our agency, but rather complicates our task of imposing sanctions on the aggressor. So the question is precisely to discuss whether there are areas where something else could be devised - said Radosław Sikorski in "Gość Wydarzeń" on Polsat News.

20:02

Sikorski:

PiS Understands Sovereignty as Polish Hegemony, Where All of Europe Must Adapt to Poland. This is Absurd
- The British have proven that it is possible to leave the EU and no one is being held back by force. They did it peacefully. So this is the ultimate proof that no one has lost sovereignty - said Radosław Sikorski in "Gość Wydarzeń" on Polsat News. - PiS understands sovereignty as Polish hegemony, meaning all of Europe must adapt to Poland, because otherwise Poland is not sovereign. But that is absurd - he stated. - A PiS diplomat, let's put it in quotation marks, wrote in Prague that it is a violation of Polish sovereignty that the Czech Republic allows Polish women to terminate pregnancies. Because Polish law must apply in the Czech Republic, right? Let's be serious - he added.

20:10

Sikorski on Nuclear Sharing: The Government Did Not Encourage or Authorize the President to Speak About It Publicly
- The President had already been told at the highest levels – and let me be clear: not Polish levels – not to talk about it and that there are no chances for it at the moment – Radosław Sikorski said on Polsat News's "Gość Wydarzeń," when asked about the idea of Poland participating in the Nuclear Sharing program. - The President represents foreign policy, which is formulated by the Council of Ministers. The Council of Ministers has not encouraged or authorized the President to speak about it publicly. However, we know that there has already been a Russian response to this talk. Quite obvious – that any such facility will be a target of a Russian attack – he continued. - I have the impression that some people think Nuclear Sharing means Poland will become a nuclear power, and that's really not the case. These are very complex matters that we discuss in the NATO nuclear planning group under the highest classifications. This is done in special bunkers – he went on to say.

20:24

Sikorski:

If Our Representation in the EPP Increased, We'd Be a Powerhouse in the EP
- In this [European] Parliament, our representation was 15 or 16 members, and we were the second-largest party within the ruling European People's Party. If we were to get 20 seats now, plus we wish our colleagues from PSL, who are also in the EPP, very well – they've had three so far, let's say they get five – then we would be a powerhouse in the EP - Radosław Sikorski said on Polsat News's "Gość Wydarzeń" (Guest of Events). - Then we influence the stance of the most important party, and it already involves very significant compromises. This is the power to influence the budget, the defense budget, a series of very important matters - he continued.

20:28

Sikorski on Ambassadors: The President Changed His Mind, Expanded the List of People He Wouldn't Want to Dismiss
- The President has changed his mind. First, in December, he told me he would like to retain four of his former associates, and today he has expanded the list of politicians – perhaps not exclusively, but mainly – whom he would not want to dismiss. This is the subject of dialogue – said Radosław Sikorski in "Gość Wydarzeń" on Polsat News when asked about ambassadorial changes.
