Thursday's Political Agenda: Sikorski's Statement

The Sejm will resume its session at 9:00 to hear the Minister of Foreign Affairs' report on the tasks of Polish foreign policy in 2024. President Andrzej Duda will also participate in the meeting. The debate on the so-called "exposé" of the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will last until 18:00. Afterwards, the Sejm will address, among other things, the citizen's bill "In Defense of Christians," submitted in the previous term by politicians of Suwerenna Polska (Sovereign Poland).

At 12:30, a press conference will be held at the PiS headquarters with PiS MPs Waldemar Buda and Zbigniew Kuźmiuk.

At 13:00, a press conference will take place with the participation of the Minister of Climate and Environment, Paulina Hennig-Kloska, and the Deputy Minister, Mikołaj Dorożała, titled: "Moratorium on Limiting Forest Logging and a Plan to Protect Socially Important Forests Around Polish Metropolises."

A conference is scheduled for 13:30 to summarize the Erasmus program for the 20th anniversary of Poland's membership in the EU, with the participation of, among others, the Minister of Science, Dariusz Wieczorek.

Biedroń:

Żukowska Among EP List Leaders. Former Prime Ministers Cimoszewicz and Belka Also to Feature
- Lewica will not be causing any earthquakes. We will present our candidates, both men and women, who will go to the EP to solve the daily problems of Polish women and men, matters that are most important to people. This will be neither an exile nor a reward; it will be hard work, for which we will send our best. And it is also worth emphasizing that there will definitely be more women on Lewica's lists, in terms of leaders – stated Robert Biedroń in „Sygnały dnia” PR1. - Among the leaders, our club leader, Chairperson Żukowska, will certainly be present; she will head the list in Mazovia. I don't want to reveal everyone, but if I were to reveal some names, I am proud that the leader of our list in Podlasie and Warmia and Masuria will be a resident of this region, an activist, a well-known defender of women's rights, Bożena Przyłuska – he continued. - But there will also be big names in Polish politics, former prime ministers. Prime Minister Cimoszewicz will lead our list in West Pomerania and Lubusz, and Prime Minister Belka in Łódź, and I am very proud that prime ministers who, among other things, worked on Poland's position in the EU, will also be leaders of our list – added the MEP.

08:06

Zandberg:

I've always associated Gronkiewicz-Waltz with the reprivatization scandal, not European integration issues
- There is information from my perspective that is surprising, such as, for example, the big comeback of Hanna Gronkiewicz-Waltz in Warsaw. Until now, the Mayor of Warsaw has been associated in my mind more with the reprivatization scandal, for which she bore political responsibility, rather than with the issues of European integration – said Adrian Zandberg in an interview with Dariusz Ociepa on Polsat News's "Graffiti".

08:09

Hołownia Announces PL2050 Board's Decision on Ministers Running for European Parliament, Promises Third Way List Reveal
- By decision of the Poland 2050 Board, no minister nominated by Poland 2050 will be on the European Parliament lists. We promised Poles that we would work in government for 4 years, not 4 months. We will present the Third Way lists tomorrow along with our coalition partner - wrote the Marshal of the Sejm, Szymon Hołownia, on Twitter.

08:13

Zandberg:

We Submitted a Draft for a 35-Hour Work Week to the Sejm
- We have submitted a draft for a 35-hour work week to the Sejm, this draft is ready, it is a moderate draft, it is written in such a way that it can be introduced completely painlessly for the economy - said Adrian Zandberg on Polsat News.

08:13

Budka on Running for European Parliament: The Prime Minister Invited Me and Asked if I Would Take on This Challenge. Of Course, You Don't Refuse the Prime Minister

- [I said I wouldn't run for the EP] when I was convinced that Jerzy Buzek would be heading the list for the EP. Everything changed last week, we lost two MEPs from Silesia. After 20 years, both Jan Olbrycht, who had previously indicated his intent, and Jerzy Buzek, for personal and somewhat health-related reasons, decided not to run. The Prime Minister invited me and asked if I would take on this challenge, and of course, you don't refuse the Prime Minister. If Jerzy Buzek had been heading the Silesian list for the EP, I wouldn't be here in the role I am in now - stated Borys Budka in an interview with Bogdan Rymanowski on Radio Zet.

08:16

Hetman:

If the party leadership believes I should run for the European Parliament, I am prepared to take on the challenge

- If the leadership of my party believes it is a good idea for me to run for the European Parliament, to fight for Polish matters there, then I tell my colleagues, fine, I am prepared to take on this challenge, just as I did last year - stated Krzysztof Hetman in the "Rozmowa Piaseckiego" program on TVN24.

08:21

Hetman on the European Parliament Elections: We Agreed to Work for Poland

- We agreed to work for Poland, in the European Parliament. There are strategic things to be done for Poland in Brussels for the next 10-15 years, and even more. We must remember about the budget and the issue of defense - stated Krzysztof Hetman in the program "Rozmowa Piaseckiego" on TVN24.

08:24

Budka:

It's Obvious That in Political Parties We Strive to Maximize Our Results

- We are doing everything to win these elections, and it is obvious that the party leader tries to construct the lists, all of them, from regional assemblies to European Parliament elections, in such a way that they are the strongest. It's not that I'm speaking out of arrogance, thinking I'm the best. It's obvious that in political parties, we strive to maximize our results - stated Borys Budka on Radio Zet.

08:24

Zandberg:

We Won't Vote for 0% Mortgages. We're Persuading Colleagues in Parliament, I Hope This Project Won't Be Adopted
- We will not vote for the 0% mortgage, because the 0% mortgage will end up making apartments in larger and medium-sized cities even more expensive than they are today. [...] These funds theoretically go to people repaying mortgages, but when developers, at the same supply level, see that new money has appeared, they increase prices by exactly the same amount [...] we might as well just press the 'transfer' button and send these billions of zlotys directly to development companies - said Adrian Zandberg on Polsat News. - We are persuading our colleagues, and I say this broadly in parliament, to truly not go down this path [...] I have a feeling that a drop in this matter is wearing away the stone. When many months ago we spoke about [...] that this is a very unreasonable idea, we met with incomprehension. Today, I see that more and more politicians, and also an increasing number of journalists, are realizing that the arguments made by Razem are, unfortunately, true [...] I hope that this project will ultimately not be adopted, we are working on it - he continued.

08:26

Budka:

We've All Offered Our Resignations to the Prime Minister, but Formal Dismissal Happens When He Decides and Submits the Request to the President

- Each of us [ministers running for the European Parliament] has placed ourselves at the Prime Minister's disposal. However, the formal resignation can only occur when the Prime Minister decides and submits the request to the President. This is how we've agreed with Donald Tusk. He made something that is obvious, but he did it in this particular format. And so, the Prime Minister will decide when the resignations take place - stated Borys Budka on Radio Zet.

08:28

Budka:

We agreed with the Prime Minister that he will decide when the government reconstruction will take place. It could happen after the May long weekend.

- We agreed with the Prime Minister that he will decide when the government reconstruction will take place. I am the last person who would want to... In my opinion, yes, these changes could happen after the May long weekend, but the Prime Minister will decide - stated Borys Budka on Radio Zet.

08:37

Zandberg:

We've Asked Marshal Hołownia to Expedite Parliamentary Work on the Anti-Flipping Bill
- I hope that this [anti-flipping] bill, for a change, will be passed in parliament as quickly as possible. Today, as Razem, we have sent a letter to Marshal Hołownia requesting that parliamentary work on this project be carried out as soon as possible - said Adrian Zandberg on Polsat News.

08:41

Zandberg:

We Should Fight to Surpass Our Parliamentary Election Percentage
- I believe that in these [European Parliament] elections, we should fight to surpass the [percentage] result from the parliamentary elections – said Adrian Zandberg on Polsat News.

09:18

Sikorski:

Poland Faces Hybrid Aggression. Cooperation Needed Not Only Within the Governing Coalition but Also with Opposition Representatives
- Poland is already facing various forms of hybrid aggression today, such as disinformation, cyberattacks, exploitation of energy dependencies, and instrumentalization of migratory pressure. In such difficult circumstances, cooperation is needed not only within the governing coalition but also with those representatives of the opposition who are ready to cooperate - said Radosław Sikorski during a Sejm session. - Before a joint visit to the United States with the President, Prime Minister Donald Tusk wrote, "I disagree politically with President Andrzej Duda on almost everything, but on matters of our homeland's security, we must and will act together. Not only during the visit to the USA." And so we are acting - he continued.

09:21

Sikorski:

The Previous Government Conducted Foreign Policy in an Imaginary Space Constructed from Myths and Delusions Perpetuated by Aggressive Propaganda

- The stubbornness of the previous government stemmed from the fact that it conducted foreign policy in a realm of perceptions, an imaginary space constructed from myths and delusions, perpetuated by aggressive propaganda – stated Radosław Sikorski in the Sejm.

09:24

Sikorski to Hołownia: Please Excuse Morawiecki's Absence. As I Understand It, He Is on His Way to Budapest for Another Gathering of Pro-Putin Nationalists

- They are not with us today [PiS prime ministers], because Prime Minister Szydło, who removed the EU rag from the Chancellery of the Prime Minister, today serves with disgust in the Euro-parliament, and Mr. Speaker, please excuse the absence of MP Morawiecki, because he has something more important to do today, namely, as I understand it, he is on his way to Budapest for another gathering of pro-Putin nationalists - stated Radosław Sikorski in the Sejm.

09:31

Sikorski:

The Current Coalition Holds Different Views Than the German Government on Many Issues. Differences of Opinion, However, Do Not Mean We Are Doomed to Eternal Conflict
- The interests of Poland and Germany are, of course, not identical. For years, Germany has adopted a stance towards Russia that is different from Poland's and, in our opinion, opportunistic. The current coalition holds different views than the German government on many issues. We have different histories, different social, economic, or security circumstances. Differences of opinion, however, do not mean that we are doomed to eternal conflict. Germany is our democratic neighbor, our largest trading partner, an important European player, and a key ally in NATO. Warsaw and Berlin need each other - said Radosław Sikorski during a Sejm session.

09:34

Sikorski on PiS Politicians: Their Comparisons of the EU to the USSR Are Not Only an Insult to Common Sense, But a Disgrace to the Victims of the Soviet Union
The EU is a space of security and economic development, which the vast majority of Poles want to belong to, but not for our predecessors. For them, it is an imaginary community, a soulless Brussels, from which anonymous bureaucrats supposedly impose directives on Poland that take away sovereignty. It is allegedly a camouflage for the same old dominance of the stronger. PiS MEP, Professor Zdzisław Krasnodębski, from a German university in Bremen, even claimed, and here’s a quote: 'The threat to our sovereignty from the West is greater than from the East,' and he said this in August 2022, when Putin had already been bombing cities for several months. Another PiS intellectual, MP Marek Suski, compared our presence in the EU to German and Soviet occupation. Minister Przemysław Czarnek, on the other hand, argued that, quoting again: 'We have reached a level in Europe worse than the Soviet Union and communism.' Such comparisons are not only an insult to common sense, they are a disgrace to the graves of Poles, victims, victims of the Soviet Union, who dreamed of a free, democratic Poland rooted in Latin civilization – stated Radosław Sikorski during his exposé in the Sejm.

09:59

Sikorski:

A 'European Legion' Should Be Composed of Volunteers, Funded Like the EU Budget

- This force, numbering between 5,000 and 10,000 soldiers, which I call the 'European Legion,' should be composed of volunteers, citizens of member states, and funded on the same principles as the EU budget. We need forces capable of rapid intervention, responding to threats emerging in the immediate vicinity of European borders - stated Radosław Sikorski while delivering his exposé in the Sejm.

10:36

Sikorski:

I Have Two Questions for the Eurosceptics

- I have two questions for the Eurosceptics. Firstly, would it be good for Poland if a recession were to take hold in the eurozone or just in Germany, and secondly, do you think this gigantic success would have been possible if Poland had left the EU and a customs border had reappeared on the Oder, just like on the English Channel? For Poland, as for the entire EU, it is important to reduce the risks associated with supply chains from Asia - stated Radosław Sikorski in the Sejm.

11:18

Duda:

I Received the Beginning of Minister Sikorski's Speech with Astonishment and Disappointment; His Words Evoked Simple Disgust in Me

- I received the beginning of Mr. Minister Sikorski's speech with some astonishment and great disappointment, especially his initial words stating that the fundamental goals in this policy are currently being pursued jointly and how important this is, which I agree with, because we are indeed pursuing them jointly. Poland is building its security sphere today, and this is the most important thing for us. Then, ladies and gentlemen, came an attack on the policy pursued by the previous government over the last 8 years – stated Andrzej Duda at a press conference in the Sejm.

- In my opinion, it was not only absolutely baseless, containing many lies, manipulations, and simply outright falsehoods, but above all, it divided Poles. It created a political conflict today, completely unnecessary for us in foreign policy, on these most important issues. Personally, these words from the minister simply evoked simple disgust in me, especially since there was a great deal of untruth and embarrassing statements, which are difficult to describe as anything other than pure propaganda and manipulation. I must admit that I received that part of the minister's speech with embarrassment, – he added.

11:44

Duda on KPO: We're dealing with unbelievable hypocrisy from European elites; all it took was a change of government in Poland for the funds to arrive

- If a politician from the camp that recently fought against the Polish government says so. Announcing falsehoods internationally about the actions of this government, which it co-implemented with liberal-left politicians from the European People's Party, who today rule in European institutions like the European Commission. Anti-Polish policy, which later turned out to be a complete fabrication and untruth, because today the so-called milestones turned out to be a completely insignificant element, it turned out that funds from the KPO could be unlocked without fulfilling any conditions, all it took was a change of government in Poland. This is probably clear to everyone who looks reasonably at our surrounding political situation and the political scene, that we are dealing with unbelievable hypocrisy from European elites, those who have ruled Europe in recent years – said Andrzej Duda at a press conference in the Sejm.

11:47

Duda:

For Nearly 9 Years, I Have Been Part of Implementing Polish Foreign Policy as President

- Foreign policy is a significant element of the activities of the President of the Republic of Poland as well. Therefore, I can confidently say that for nearly 9 years, as president, I have been part of implementing Polish foreign policy alongside the Prime Minister and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, both in terms of conception and execution. I have been actively involved from the very beginning – stated President Andrzej Duda at a press conference.

12:11

Tusk to Limit Public Activity in Coming Days: Government Information Centre Issues Statement

- In the coming days, Prime Minister Donald Tusk will limit his public activity. This is due to a diagnosed case of pneumonia, necessitating treatment. Following the completion of his course of treatment, Donald Tusk will return to his duties – informed the Prime Minister's Office.

12:20

Duda:

I've Invited the Prime Minister for Talks on Nuclear Sharing and Poland's Upcoming EU Presidency

- I have today extended an invitation to Prime Minister Donald Tusk for the morning of May 1st. Our aides will finalize the exact time, depending on our joint availability on the morning of May 1st, to the Presidential Palace. I hope to discuss with the Prime Minister both the issue of Nuclear Sharing, which he wished to discuss with me [...], and also the very important upcoming Polish presidency of the EU, which I believe is of enormous significance in building our and Europe's relationship with the United States – stated Andrzej Duda at a press conference in the Sejm.

12:29

Arłukowicz:

Sienkiewicz, Budka, and Kierwiński Have Completed Their Initial Tasks and Are Running for the European Parliament Because They Are Very Strong Politicians
- From the beginning, we said that ministers have their swift tasks to complete, and Minister Sienkiewicz, Borys Budka, or Minister Kierwiński have completed their initial tasks, meaning taking over power and fixing everything they found after PiS. Today, the decision is that they are running for the European Parliament, not because they have finished their mission, but because they are very strong politicians, and the list for the European Parliament must be very strong. We have created such strong lists yesterday, and the result is that we are running for the European Parliament to win these elections – said Bartosz Arłukowicz in a conversation with Jacek Prusinowski on Radio Plus's program "Sedno Sprawy".

12:36

Arłukowicz:

Poland Will Return to a Leading Position in the EU, and We Will Achieve This Through These Elections
- I made the decision to run in the elections on October 15th because I recognized that Poland is at such a critical historical juncture that I must contribute my strength, energy, and everything I have to win, oust PiS from power, and save Polish democracy. And I decided to interrupt my European mandate in order to join the fight for democracy in Poland, and I did so. We won the elections; I personally ran in Koszalin, where we gained one more seat - Bartosz Arłukowicz said on Radio Plus. - Now, after the local government elections [...] we are running for the European Parliament to defend Poland's position in the European Union. Poland, which was pushed to the margins, pushed out of the European Union and remaining in Orban's embrace, is returning today and will return to a leading position in the European Union, and we will achieve this precisely through these elections - he continued.

12:50

Tusk Announces Government Reshuffle Date
- After a short (I hope) break forced by illness, we are getting back to work with full force. May 7th is the European Economic Congress, where together with Ursula von der Leyen we will present a plan for Europe, May 10th is the government reshuffle, and today, we will announce a plan to help farmers - Prime Minister Donald Tusk announced on social media.

14:35

Sikorski:

Someone Radically Misled the President

- Thank you, Mr. President, for your presence. Yesterday, at the Presidential Palace, I informed the President that this first expose, by its very nature, had to summarize 8 years of the previous government's policy, so it would naturally be polemical. If anyone has a grievance about this, they should read Prime Minister Szydło's expose from 2015, where she accused us of stealing, I don't remember how many hundreds of billions of zlotys anymore - Radosław Sikorski stated in a conversation with journalists in the Sejm.

- As for manipulation, the President was untruthful when he said someone wanted to sell a plot of land in Berlin. During my previous tenure as minister, we resolved an architectural competition and, already under Minister Schetyna, began demolitions of the old embassy. The new PiS government's contribution at the time was referring the matter to the prosecutor's office and delaying this investment by several years, and then they carried it out according to the competition I had decided. So, someone radically misled the President - he continued.

14:38

Sikorski:

I have the impression that my colleagues from PiS have fallen for their own propaganda
- I have the impression that my colleagues from PiS have fallen for their own propaganda. When they did what they did to public media, when they bought the favour of private media for hundreds of millions of zlotys and only read that all the time, they might have mistaken their delusions for reality - stated Radosław Sikorski in a conversation with journalists in the Sejm.

15:22

Grabiec:

Council of Ministers Decided to Adopt Regulation Outlining Comprehensive Aid Plan for Polish Farmers
- Today, the Council of Ministers decided to adopt a regulation outlining a comprehensive aid plan for Polish farmers, assistance related to the consequences of the Russian-Ukrainian war and the effects of changes that have impacted the Polish market due to this war, in particular the broad opening of customs borders, European Union borders, Polish borders, the influx of excessive quantities of grain from Ukraine, and the destabilization of the Polish market. To this day, we are experiencing the effects of these events that took place precisely in the last two years. The regulation adopted today by the Council of Ministers is intended to shield farmers from the consequences of these negative changes [...] and serves to ensure that the surplus grain, which is still present in the warehouses and with Polish farmers and in companies storing grain, is exported before the upcoming harvest - said Jan Grabiec at a press conference. - This undertaking will be financed from the aid fund that was established by the government in connection with the war in Ukraine. [...] This is a short-term, transitional solution designed to remove the surplus of grain from the Polish market and is intended to operate within the next few weeks, the next few months - he continued.

15:25

Kaczyński:

Polish Sovereignty is to Become a Historical Incident
- It was indeed a good thing that Mr. Sikorski referred to the Nice Treaty, because the same argument, i.e., efficient management, was put forward when that treaty was being amended to the Lisbon Treaty, and when the position of countries like Poland was significantly weakened by that change. And this same argument, substantively unjustified, is being raised in order to backtrack from what Prime Minister Tusk and other representatives have recently said, namely that the matter does not exist at all, that many countries do not agree to it, meaning treaty changes are just a scare tactic used by the opposition - stated Jarosław Kaczyński at a PiS press conference. - Today we already know that this matter exists, and we also know that it will lead, under the pretext of the necessity to consider de facto German demands in the process of enlargement. And the issue is truly fundamental, because if one looks at the drafts of these changes, they mean that Poland will essentially lose sovereignty in all important matters, matters such as border defense, defense policy, essentially foreign policy as well, and tax policy. And that would be enough for our state to de facto cease to be a state, for it to be a territory inhabited by Poles, but governed mainly from abroad, and the attributes of a state that would remain, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, would be merely an executor of someone else's orders - the PiS leader continued. - Polish sovereignty is to become a historical incident, this time lasting longer than between 1918 and 1939, but still, considering the dimension of historical time, only an incident, and we do not agree to this, and regardless of what Minister Sikorski says here, no Polish patriot can agree to it - he added.

15:25

Grabiec on the Green Deal: Changes Achieved That No One Dreamed Of Six Months Ago
- I would like to thank the ministers for their work in convincing Brussels to diametrically change the Green Deal concerning agriculture. We managed to achieve changes that no one dreamed of six months ago, or even a year ago, changes that the previous government, which agreed to all changes related to the Green Deal, was unable to achieve - said Jan Grabiec at a press conference.

15:29

Kaczyński:

PiS's EP Candidate Lists to be Announced Upon Registration

- The lists [for the EP] will be announced at the moment they are registered. This will likely happen very quickly in some districts where everything is already ready. Elsewhere, it will be a bit later, but still within a short period. I will not be evaluating individual candidates - stated Jarosław Kaczyński at a PiS press conference.

15:32

Kaczyński:

Elements of Dictatorship Are Starting to Emerge

- "Regarding dictatorship, only someone who doesn't understand what a dictatorship is could believe that there are any elements of dictatorship in Poland, but today such elements are indeed beginning to appear," stated Jarosław Kaczyński at a PiS press conference.

15:32

Grabiec on Tusk's Presence at Meeting with Duda: Prime Minister's Activity in the Coming Days Will Not Be Possible
- Due to pneumonia, an advanced form, the Prime Minister's activity, especially public appearances, will not be possible in the coming days, including during this long weekend. The Prime Minister will return to these activities as soon as possible, but for now, bilateral meetings, international trips, and international gatherings that were planned for the coming days have been cancelled - said Jan Grabiec at a press conference, when asked about Donald Tusk's presence on May 1st at the Presidential Palace at the invitation of President Andrzej Duda.

15:35

Kaczyński:

EU Parliament Lists Generally Approved, Minor Adjustments Possible in Special Circumstances

- The lists [of PiS candidates for the European Parliament] have generally been approved, but please remember that there is a practice within our party where, in certain special situations, the leader of PiS, meaning myself, can make some minor adjustments, not a general change – stated Jarosław Kaczyński at a PiS press conference.

15:36

Kołodziejczak:

The Regulation Provides Specific Aid for Farmers and Targets Those Who Sold Grain
- The regulation, which has been prepared in recent weeks, provides specific aid for Polish farmers and is directed at those who sold their grain – we are talking here about wheat, rye, triticale, cereal mixes, or barley – those who sold these products between January 1st and March 10th will receive aid. For wheat, this is 200 zlotys per ton, and for other grains during this period. For the period from March 11th to the end of May, we are talking about aid of 300 zlotys per ton, which also translates into specific aid per hectare […]. For wheat per hectare, it is 1620 zlotys for the period from March 11th to the end of May, analogously less for the period from January 1st to March 10th – said Michał Kołodziejczak at a press conference.

15:38

Kołodziejczak:

It's Painful to See Protests Organized by Party Activists Wearing "Polexit" T-shirts
- It's very painful to see protests organized by party activists who wear "Polexit" t-shirts, or similar slogans. For us, these are unacceptable slogans and demands that we will never agree to. Only a strong Poland within a strong European Union will be able to face everything that is happening today - said Michał Kołodziejczak at a press conference. - I often understand the demands of farmers and I know that the situation is difficult, but protests organized by party offshoots, which often aim to destabilize, have nothing to do with the good of Polish farmers, and this is also an element that often hinders the discussions that are being held - he continued.

15:46

Siekierski:

Grain Subsidy Announcement Has Accelerated Sales and Exports. There's Hope We'll Empty Warehouses Sufficiently
- These grain subsidies are a realization of the agreements we made during a long discussion, conversations in Jasionka. The situation on the grain market is exceptionally difficult, there are large reserves, but we see that the announcement of these subsidies has already accelerated sales and exports. We have increased exports, and therefore there is hope that we will manage to sufficiently empty the warehouses, which are essential and related to the harvest - said Czesław Siekierski at a press conference.

20:17

Kosiniak-Kamysz on EP Elections: From the PSL's Side, We Do Not Foresee Other Changes

- From my side, from the PSL's side, we do not foresee other changes. I understand that each of the coalition partners has the right to assess, the Prime Minister has the right, of course, and the duty to assess and discuss this matter. Everyone is aware that this is a mission whose beginning is known, but the end can always happen at any moment; this is normal, this is politics, this is how government works - stated Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz on TVP Info's program "Pytanie dnia" (Question of the Day).

20:25

Kosiniak-Kamysz Asked if Paszyk Will Replace the 'Hetman': We Haven't Made a Decision Yet

- He is the current head of the parliamentary club, a very good parliamentarian serving his third term, and he is certainly prepared to hold the most important positions, but we haven't made a decision on that yet. There are a few days, at least a dozen or so days, until the reconstruction. Today we are finalizing work on the lists - stated Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz on TVP Info's program "Pytanie dnia" (Question of the Day).

20:30

Kosiniak-Kamysz:

We Talk Too Little About KPO Funds

- I believe we talk too little about the KPO funds. 27 billion has already been transferred, these are funds for renewable energy sources, matters related to digitalization, and soon for healthcare. I also expect shifts at the European level for matters related to co-financing the defense industry – stated Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz in the TVP Info program "Pytanie dnia".

20:53

Kierwiński:

The war with PiS, regarding exposing PiS's pathology, will also take place in the EU

- We agreed on 4 years as the entire coalition formed on October 15th. Many ministers will continue to work, new people will come, and we will be, if that is the will of the voters, working in the European Parliament as well, where there is also a lot to be done. I am talking about the fact that the war with PiS, when it comes to settling all that has happened, when it comes to explaining, straightening out these matters, when it comes to showing what a pathology PiS was, is taking place on many fronts. Yes, there, regarding European issues, we will also talk about this, because we need to restore a bit of the EU to Poland and Poland to the EU; this is a great opportunity and a great hope – stated Marcin Kierwiński on the program "Kropka nad i" on TVN24.

20:54

Kierwiński:

Compromised individuals like Szymczyk, who fled the police force, will answer to the prosecutor

- We've started many important things; I mentioned, for example, the issue of preparation – a ready project exists and will certainly be implemented. The Prime Minister announced the expansion of the barrier on our border with Belarus because the one built by PiS is simply ineffective; that's one thing. We have introduced many solutions aimed at halting the sharp outflow of police officers; these are solutions that are already being processed. There will likely be many vacancies for many years to come, as this is a sad legacy of PiS. Last year, nearly 9,000 officers left. We have stopped this process; this year, there have already been fewer departures. We have introduced pay raises for officers and are facilitating their return to service. We are also changing the police force; compromised individuals like Mr. Szymczyk have left the police, they fled, and they will answer to the prosecutor. This was also my work – said Marcin Kierwiński on TVN24.

20:54

Kierwiński to Wąsik and Kamiński: You Won't Escape Responsibility, the Prosecutor's Office Will Charge You

- Incidentally, the word 'escape' often appears in connection with the letters [to the EP] – well, because PiS politicians are indeed escaping, they are escaping from the Polish justice system, but here, gentlemen, and I address you, if you are watching, you will not escape responsibility in the European Parliament, because sooner or later, the prosecutor's office will press charges for all your abominations – stated Marcin Kierwiński on TVN24.
