Siekierski:

Farmers Protest for a Just Cause, Though the Form of Protest Can Be Debated

- I probably wouldn't stand [with the farmers] if I weren't a minister, but as the Minister of Agriculture, I clearly stated that farmers are protesting for a just cause, and their arguments and demands are right. However, naturally, the form of the protest can be debated. I think it was a bit excessive, although farmers' protests always have a very clear, sharp expression, as we also observe when farmers protest in countries of the former Western Europe – stated Czesław Siekierski on TVN24's "Jeden na jeden".

07:58

Siekierski:

Farmers are determined because their situation is exceptionally difficult

- I understand these circumstances; farmers are determined because their situation is exceptionally difficult. This may be why emotions have dominated, but also within the group, there's a bit of mutual encouragement, more courage. Later, when talking individually or asking representatives, after the last protest near Płock, when we invited nearly 50 people into the room, the conversation became very substantive - stated Czesław Siekierski on TVN24's "Jeden na jeden" (One on One).

08:32

Siekierski on Trade with Ukraine: Restrictions are Possible and We are Preparing Them. I am Talking with the Ukrainian Minister of Agriculture

- Restrictions are possible and we are preparing them; they have been predetermined, and we are increasing controls. I think we may finalize the setting of limits by the end of February. Today, I am also talking with the Ukrainian Minister of Agriculture, and we should have this settled by the end of March - stated Czesław Siekierski on TVN24's "One on One".

08:43

Czarzasty:

If the Left Achieves 10%, PiS Won't Rule in Any Regional Assembly. So What Will We Do? We'll Aim for 10%
- It would certainly be easier to defeat PiS if the entire opposition, meaning all four parties, went into [the local elections] together - stated Włodzimierz Czarzasty in an interview with Robert Mazurek on RMF FM. - PO assesses the situation in such a way that it will secure enough votes for a satisfactory result for itself. If we had joined forces with PO, this result, due to the D'Hondt method, would definitely have been better - he continued. - The situation is this: If the Left achieves 10% in these elections, which I believe in, I want to politely inform you that PiS will not rule in any regional assembly. So what will we do? We'll aim for 10%, we will fight for it - he declared.

08:52

Czarzasty:

Until the Left Has 15-17% in the Sejm, It Will Be Difficult to Pass Abortion Bills, as PSL and PL2050 are Clearly Hindering Progress
- There is an idea to send these [abortion] bills, which are currently assembled – and perhaps one more bill will potentially be introduced – to committee and work on them. I think this should happen in the near future - Włodzimierz Czarzasty said in the "Morning Interview" on RMF FM. - We will do everything to gain a majority on these matters. But it must be said clearly – until the Left has 15-17% of the votes in the Sejm, it will be very difficult to pass them, as both the PSL and Poland 2050 are clearly hindering progress from our point of view on this issue - he stated.

09:15

Myrcha on Restoring the Rule of Law: Elections and a Change of President Appear to Be the Deadline
- I can assure you that [restoring the rule of law] is not a matter of months, it's a task for this term, it's undisputed in general, it's a question of whether it's a matter of months, or if the presidential election and a potential change in the office of president ultimately appears to be the deadline [...] it seems that this is the boundary date - Arkadiusz Myrcha said in an interview with Jacek Prusinowski on the program "Sedno Sprawy" on Radio Plus.

09:15

Czarzasty on CPK: Huge investments always spark controversy at first, but once built, we rejoice. This project can be very economically coherent.
- Huge investments always spark total controversy, at the beginning, when these decisions are made. We always rejoice in them once they are built – said Włodzimierz Czarzasty in the "Morning Conversation" on RMF FM. - Therefore, I am awaiting the audit that Mr. Lasek is conducting. I know he is doing it. I know this from him – he indicated. - I believe that this project can be very economically coherent. It is very important when it comes to railway lines and transport – he continued.

09:19

Czarzasty on CPK: I Warn All My Friends Against Expressing Hasty Opinions on This Matter
- Continuity in politics is important. There's no point in supporting idiotic projects, but it seems to me that when it comes to CPK, some politicians are too quickly making decisions and voicing their views on this matter - said Włodzimierz Czarzasty in the "Morning Interview" on RMF FM. - I warn all my friends against expressing hasty opinions on this matter. It is very possible that this is a sensible project. Certainly, when it comes to the transport aspect. I think that when it comes to the airport, this matter also needs to be carefully considered - he stated.

09:25

Myrcha on KRS Bill: If Adopted by Government Next Week, We Could Proceed with it in the Next Sejm Session
- There is such a possibility [that the bill on the KRS will be adopted by the government at a session next week and sent to the Sejm]. The agenda for the Council of Ministers meeting is, of course, still ahead of us, but it has been flagged as ready, and if that happens, we could indeed proceed with it in the next Sejm session, but of course, that is the decision of the Convention of Senior MPs - said Arkadiusz Myrcha on Radio Plus. - So that judges elect their representatives to the National Council of the Judiciary, so that no one does it for them, and this law envisages holding new elections in this judicial part, which will be universal elections in the understanding of the judicial community. [...] Active suffrage, i.e., voting in these elections, will be held by all judges, these elections will be conducted by the National Electoral Commission [...] however, regarding passive suffrage, i.e., the right to be elected, it will exceptionally not apply in these first elections to those who were elected or possibly promoted at the request of this contested National Council of the Judiciary - he continued.

09:28

Czarzasty on KPO: Coalition meeting yesterday, I have information that these funds will be directed to Poland
- I am very concerned about this [that the KPO funds have not yet reached Poland], because as one of the few formations, we voted in favor of this money from the KPO. But I have good news - there was a coalition meeting yesterday, and I have information that these financial resources will be directed to Poland - said Włodzimierz Czarzasty in the "Morning Interview" on RMF FM. - The problem with what PiS did to Polish legislation, and I say this without any emotion, is so great that much more needs to be "undone" than we initially assumed. If you were to ask me when the first tranches of these funds will arrive - I believe within a month - he added.

09:30

Myrcha:

Individuals Promoted Through the So-Called "Neo-KRS" Will Be Able to Rectify Their Status. I'm Not Talking About Reviewing Rulings
- In the first instance, we must restore the National Council of the Judiciary in a way that it does not raise any legal doubts regarding its status. Then, all those individuals who have received promotions in recent years through the so-called "neo-KRS" will be able to calmly rectify their status. I am not talking about any review of rulings; that is already some commentary appearing in public debate - said Arkadiusz Myrcha on Radio Plus.

09:35

Myrcha:

A Court Refusal to Register Liquidation Doesn't Mean Liquidation Proceedings Don't Exist
- A court's entry regarding liquidation is declaratory in nature [...] it means that the court merely confirms the decision made by the owner, in this case the State Treasury, and this entry does not signify the court's approval. [...] The liquidation process is solely determined by the owner itself, in this case the State Treasury, represented by the Minister of Culture [of public media companies] - stated Arkadiusz Myrcha on Radio Plus. - The fact that the court refuses such an entry does not mean that liquidation proceedings are non-existent; it merely means that, most likely for procedural reasons, something didn't go as planned and the application is dismissed. This does not change the fact that the entire liquidation process and the appointment of liquidators are effective - he continued.

09:43

Myrcha on Votes to Bring Duda and Morawiecki Before the State Tribunal Soon: We Will Do Everything in Our Power for This to Happen
- All the gentlemen mentioned have such actions in their careers that, in my opinion, qualify for a motion to the State Tribunal. Currently, work, analyses, and preparations of these materials are underway - Arkadiusz Myrcha said on Radio Plus, when asked about bringing Andrzej Duda, Mateusz Morawiecki, Jacek Sasin, Zbigniew Ziobro, Adam Glapiński, Maciej Świrski, and Piotr Gliński before the State Tribunal. - We will do everything in our power for this to happen - he continued, when pressed whether there would be attempts to vote on these motions within 100 days of taking office.

10:09

Fogiel:

We are a democratic party to the core; it's our competitors who are trying to break the law

- As it stands, we are dealing with the other side, which breaks all the rules when it comes to functioning within a democracy. If we are dealing with law-breaking, if we are dealing with a forceful takeover of the media, then it is difficult to operate within the accepted standards of a democratic opposition – stated Radosław Fogiel on Radio Zet.

- We are, as we have repeatedly said – a democratic party to the core. It is our competitors who have formed a government and instead of passing laws, instead of governing as God commanded, they are making some sort of combinations with resolutions, they are trying to break the law – he continued.

10:10

Fogiel on Kaczyński and Duda's Relationship: Not Necessarily Friendly, But Correct

- The fact that [President Duda and Jarosław Kaczyński] may not drop by each other's for tea is not a requirement among politicians. When President Kaczyński is a bit closer to someone, there's an uproar in the media. If he has healthy, normal, standard relations with the president, not necessarily friendly ones, but no one demands that, then it's bad from the other side. These are correct relations – said Radosław Fogiel on Radio Zet.

10:11

Fogiel:

We Must Be Prepared to Endure Until Allies Emerge, Should the Worst Happen
- What is key from Poland's perspective, one thing is investing in our defensive capabilities, strengthening our army, meaning broadly speaking, continuing what we started as the PiS government. Those who can help themselves are helped, and Ukraine is the best proof of this. We must be prepared to endure until allies emerge, should the worst happen. And the second thing, of course, is Russia's defeat in Ukraine, because whether it will be Ukraine's victory depends on how one defines it, is crucial from the perspective of Poland and the region. And these two things must guide us in our actions – stated Radosław Fogiel on Radio Zet.

10:11

Fogiel:

Wąsik and Kamiński would be excellent candidates and MEPs

- In my opinion [Wąsik and Kamiński] would not only be excellent candidates, but excellent Members of the European Parliament. They would be individuals who, on the one hand, are living proof that certain matters are not going well, that people who want to fight corruption are being sent to prison, while those who could face corruption accusations are being sent to Brussels, like Mr. Włodzimierz Karpiński. It would, however, be a positive change to send someone who fought against corruption to the European Parliament, rather than someone who awaited corruption charges – Radosław Fogiel stated on Radio Zet.

11:11

Tusk:

We've Decided on Rapid Modernization of Our Border Barrier with Belarus

- I want to inform you that several dozen hours ago, together with the Minister of the Interior, we established and made a decision on the rapid modernization of our border barrier with Belarus. We will allocate adequate funds for this. We want to coordinate our border work with Finland, because secure borders with Russia and Belarus, if they are truly to be secure, require us to take joint responsibility. Finland, Poland, and also the Baltic states. There can be no weak links in this chain; we are ready, Poland and Finland also ready to support and cooperate with other partners, so that the eastern border is indeed effectively controlled - stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk during a briefing with the Prime Minister of Finland.

11:18

Tusk:

We Will Have to Make Decisions to Protect Polish Agriculture Against Unequal Competition from Products from Beyond the Eastern Border, Mainly Ukraine
At the same time, we realize that the war cannot be a reason for such drastic losses or damages as those incurred by Polish agriculture. Thank you for your understanding, we will have to make decisions here, in the country, to protect Polish agriculture against unequal competition from agricultural products flowing from beyond the eastern border, mainly from Ukraine. I will intervene at the European level, thank you for understanding our situation, Mr. Prime Minister - stated Prime Minister Donald Tusk during a briefing with the Prime Minister of Finland.

11:35

Tusk:

Finland and Poland Must Also Be Prepared for the Worst-Case Scenarios
- Europe, Finland, and Poland must also be prepared for the worst-case scenarios. We are aware that Europe must be able to mobilize its resources so as not to be intimidated by Russia's military might. This is an absolute necessity, and we will cooperate here – said Donald Tusk during a briefing with the Prime Minister of Finland. - I also thank you very much, Mr. Prime Minister, for your readiness to cooperate in building the most modern civil defense. Finland enjoys such a reputation, a justified reputation, for civil defense. We are starting after a few years of certain, I would say, neglects, and we would very much like to modernize and rebuild all capabilities related to civil defense, including infrastructure, training, drills, and procedures. And thank you very much for this readiness for cooperation, collaboration, and assistance from Finland – he continued.

12:48

Czarzasty on Local Elections: It's Also a Battle Between Coalition Partners. We're Fighting for the Future of Poland.
- Recently, the coalition that includes the Left won against PiS. Right now, a battle is underway for how democracy will look and function. A fight for what our cities will be like. This will also be a battle between coalition partners. Between us and Civic Platform, between us and the Third Way [...]. We are already fighting now for what Poland should look like - Włodzimierz Czarzasty said at a press conference. - The Left is fielding its own lists in 85% of electoral districts for regional assemblies. [...] We will always look for a coalition partner, which is a normal thing because 50% of these seats are in 5 and 6-member districts. PSL is at 7%, Hołownia is at 7%, they had to come to an agreement and unite in order to win seats. That's a wise decision, we're keeping our fingers crossed for them, but we're primarily keeping our fingers crossed for the people of the Left and for what they have in mind [...] for a Poland that will implement women's rights, regardless of whether the Third Way supports women in their rights to make decisions about their bodies or not - he continued.

12:58

Czarzasty:

Names of Those Unjustly Surveilled by Pegasus Should Be Declassified
- Firstly, yes, all those who were unjustly surveilled, all journalists, all politicians, all actors, artists, all people who were surveilled because they held different views. Also, all PiS politicians who held different views from those who were conducting the surveillance - stated Włodzimierz Czarzasty at a press conference, when asked if the names of individuals surveilled by Pegasus should be declassified. - The second sphere is the issue of bandits, terrorists, thieves, murderers, because that is why this equipment [...] is purchased all over the world, to give us a sense of security - he continued.

13:01

Pełczyńska-Nałęcz:

Navalny Fell Victim to a Dictator's Revenge. This is Not Death, It's Murder

- This is extremely sad news, extremely sad for all of us who knew the immense suffering Aleksiej Navalny endured by his own, personal decision. He could have stayed in the West, lived safely with his family, prosperously, and yet, with full understanding of where he was returning to, he decided to go back to Russia, saying it was his homeland, and he wanted to fight for change in this homeland, for democratic change. He ended up in prison, where he was treated terribly, sent to the punishment cell almost 30 times, tortured, he went through an absolute nightmare. During this time, he maintained an incredible spirit, as we know from his lawyers and various leaks to social media, but the dictator's revenge caught up with him. This is Putin's personal revenge, Putin took revenge on someone who dared to criticize him, who, in Putin's conviction, dared to insult him, and simply murdered Navalny. This is not death, it's murder – stated Katarzyna Pełczyńska-Nałęcz in an interview with journalists in the Sejm.

13:03

Czarzasty on clarifying the envelope election affair: I hope someone goes to prison
- I am certain that members of the previous government will be held accountable for this [envelope elections]. I don't know what the penalty will be for wasting 70 million, but I hope someone goes to prison. I don't wish ill on anyone, but it cannot be that in a democratic country, elections are commissioned to Poczta Polska instead of the National Electoral Commission, and 70 million is spent outside of election-related decisions, because in reality, no one formally announced these elections in such a format - said Włodzimierz Czarzasty at a press conference.

13:07

Czarzasty on Investigative Committees: People Need to See the Extent of This Government's Degeneration
- People are finding out about all these atrocities. Investigative committees show the truth, investigative committees show how the government can act with impunity, how the government can make decisions with impunity, how the government can install cameras by our beds with impunity. People need to see this, people need to see the extent of this government's degeneration – said Włodzimierz Czarzasty at a press conference.

13:10

Czarzasty:

Polish Farmers Are Right
- Farmers are right. Polish farmers are right. It cannot be that under the guise of law and the principles introduced by the European Union, crooks get rich. It cannot be that trucks enter Poland, drive through Poland, go to Germany, and after two hours re-enter. It cannot be that Polish farmers work honestly, and crooks try to rob them - said Włodzimierz Czarzasty at a press conference.

13:28

Bocheński:

It's not true that we made changes meant to, as Tusk says, destroy the idea of self-governance. The opposite is true.
- We are standing in defense of the government's Strategic Investment Program, the Polish Deal. It was one of the most significant programs responding to the expectations of local governments and their residents. The last 8 years have been a period rich in very dynamic, open, and apolitical cooperation between local governments and the government - said Tobiasz Bocheński at a press conference. - Billions of zlotys flowed into all local governments from the strategic investment fund, from small rural communes, through districts, to large agglomerations. There is no local government that could not benefit from this financing […]. Contrary to the circulating and stereotypical opinions expressed by KO politicians, we, as the political camp of PiS, are very concerned about and committed to cooperation with all local governments, regardless of their political affiliation. It is also not true that we made changes that would make life difficult for local governments, or even, as Donald Tusk says, destroy the idea of self-governance. The opposite is true - he continued.

14:22

Hołownia:

Navalny was murdered

- Alexei Navalny was murdered. The criminal killed a political prisoner and the greatest symbol of opposition to his thuggish regime. I extend my deepest condolences to the wife, family, and loved ones of the murdered man - wrote Szymon Hołownia on Twitter.

14:29

MFA:

We are shocked by reports of Navalny's death. Russian authorities bear full responsibility for this tragedy
- The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is shocked by the reports of Alexei Navalny's death. Russian authorities bear full responsibility for this tragedy. We demand an independent investigation and full clarification of all circumstances of his death - the diplomatic ministry wrote in a statement. - We call on the entire democratic community to jointly condemn the Russian authorities and take decisive steps for the immediate punishment of all those responsible for this tragedy - it was emphasized.

14:58

Tusk:

Alexey, We Will Never Forget You. And We Will Never Forgive Them.
- Alexey, we will never forget you. And we will never forgive them - wrote Prime Minister Donald Tusk on social media.

18:36

Duda:

Putinism Will Pass, and Navalny's Legacy Will Prevail
- Alexei Navalny is another victim of the Kremlin regime. But this brutality is a sign of weakness. Putinism will eventually pass, and Navalny's legacy will prevail. I extend my condolences to the family - President Andrzej Duda wrote on social media.

19:13

Kaczyński:

Where is the Higher Tax-Free Allowance? 1,500 More for Teachers? Gasoline at 5.19??

- Regarding our opponents, where is that 60,000 or even 72,000 tax-free? Because they were talking about 6,000 per month. 6 * 12 is 72. Well, it's not there. Where is that 1,500 more for teachers? In reality, they could honestly only say they would add a few hundred zlotys to what we had already proposed, and that's what happened. There is no 1,500. Where are those dormitories for a zloty, essentially for free? Where is the zero VAT, gasoline at 5.19? - stated Jarosław Kaczyński in Opoczno.

- Where is that 0% credit? Not only is it not there, but they are also limiting, and in essence, eliminating the 2% credit that we proposed. In short, this victory, this legitimacy of power, is largely based on deception - he continued.

19:18

Kaczyński:

Wasn't the claim that Poland is a dictatorship one gigantic campaign of lies?
- This victory, this legitimacy of power, is to a significant extent based on deceit. [...] There was also deceit related to facts. Wasn't the claim that Poland is a dictatorship during these eight years one gigantic campaign of lies? What dictatorship? The opposition does whatever it wants, there is no censorship. The government, as far as the media is concerned, can be said to be attacked from all sides, because the media that favors us is a clear minority, even when there was public radio and public television. [...] The opposition [...] has the courts at its disposal [...]. Despite all this, there was talk of a dictatorship, and very many people [...] believed it - stated Jarosław Kaczyński in Opoczno.

19:36

Kaczyński:

Navalny Undoubtedly Murdered. This Latest Criminal Act by Putin Must Be Seen in Broader Context, Including Events of April 10, 2010

- If there were a dictatorship [during our rule], those who govern today and are doing all these things, which we often talk about, breaking the constitution, breaking the law, would simply be in the afterlife or in prison. In a real dictatorship, they could meet the fate of Navalny. He, who died in prison after numerous persecutions and who was undoubtedly murdered. He was murdered, and I would very much ask you to see this latest criminal act by Putin in the broader context of previous criminal acts. Regarding his opponents, for example, Nemtsov, but also Ms. Politkovskaya, a journalist who described atrocities in Chechnya, so that you also see it in the context of the events of April 10, 2010, so that you know that this man is seeking revenge and is ready for anything – stated Jarosław Kaczyński at a meeting with residents in Opoczno.

19:40

Kaczyński:

A New Constitution is Needed

- Although it [the Constitution] has such shortcomings and is so frequently violated today that we must clearly state, a new Constitution is needed, because if today the President in Poland had real instruments to fulfill his duty under Article 126, Section 1 of the Constitution, including the duty to defend the Constitution, then all of this would not be happening, the seizure of television by force, all of this that is currently unfolding in the prosecutor's office - stated Jarosław Kaczyński in Opoczno.

19:44

Kaczyński:

I Want to Appeal to the Current Government: Introduce the Restrictions We Implemented Against EU Resistance
- Even if the war ends, which we wish for and want Ukraine to win, and we want to establish a lasting Polish-Ukrainian arrangement with our friends from the southeastern border, it must guarantee the protection of Polish agriculture, because it has no chance against Ukrainian agriculture [...]. I want to appeal from this place to the current government, I say these words with difficulty, but I want to appeal nonetheless: introduce those restrictions that we talked about and implemented against the resistance of the European Union. Let's protect Polish farmers from this danger, firmly - said Jarosław Kaczyński in Opoczno.

19:46

Kaczyński:

Let Us Be Together and Build Together. This is Our Slogan

- Let us be together and build together, let us be together and build together. This is our slogan, our slogan today, when we are in opposition, and this is our slogan for our return to power. Only effort, joint work, discipline, and what is very, very important regarding the ZP camp, unity, unity, and unity once again – stated Jarosław Kaczyński in Opoczno.

20:05

Brejza:

The Pegasus Investigation Committee Should Expose the System of Destroying People Using This Cyberweapon
- The [Pegasus investigation] committee should expose this system of destroying people using this cyberweapon. The committee is to answer how PiS created a mechanism connecting government television, services, and the PiS prosecution staffed by Ziobro's people. A mechanism that was meant to destroy political opponents and influence the course of elections – said Krzysztof Brejza in an interview with Grzegorz Kajdanowicz on TVN24's "Fakty po Faktach". - First and foremost, the committee is to create mechanisms, […] to create oversight over special services, operational control, and technological development, so that this kind of story never happens again in Poland – he continued.

20:17

Brejza:

Pegasus, a Cyberweapon Created to Neutralize Terrorists, Was Used by PiS to Destroy People
- This is a cyberweapon created in Israel to neutralize terrorists from Hamas, Hezbollah, which, by the decision of PiS, was used to destroy people, to attempt civilian assassinations. Because when you see falsified news on government television with reach equivalents costing 20 million Polish zlotys, these are Soviet methods. But they will answer for this - said Krzysztof Brejza on TVN24's "Fakty po Faktach" (Facts After Facts).

20:21

Kaczyński on the List of Pegasus-Infiltrated Individuals: I Don't Know It, But There Are Spies, Gangsters, Criminals
- It's like with this Pegasus. First, they were shouting about who wasn't on it, basically everyone was wiretapped, and then they were asked to show the list, and suddenly it turned out that it was secret, that there was no procedure to show it. And why? Because there are no such people on that list. I, of course, do not know it, because I did not have such powers, even when I was Deputy Prime Minister for Security, but there are people on it, and I only know this generally, spies or those suspected of espionage, usually Russians or Belarusians, various kinds of gangsters and people burdened with various kinds of common crimes. And that's all. Nothing more is there, no one was wiretapped there for political reasons - stated Jarosław Kaczyński in Opoczno.

20:32

Brejza:

President's Face Fell When PM Handed Him Pegasus Materials. Perhaps He Has His Own Suspicions That Someone Close to Him Was Also Targeted
- I recall that moment when the Prime Minister handed those materials [regarding Pegasus] to the President. The President had a very grim expression. It's hard to be surprised, because perhaps the President has his own arrangements, suspicions, or signals that someone in his close circle was also being targeted. After all, this tool was also used within PiS for so-called internal control of the environment - said Krzysztof Brejza in "Fakty po Faktach" on TVN24.

20:47

Brejza:

I cannot imagine those responsible for the Pegasus scandal becoming MEPs
- I cannot imagine the situation where people [Mariusz Kamiński and Maciej Wąsik] responsible for the Pegasus scandal, which was assessed by the European Parliament as an unprecedented scandal in the history of Europe, a scandal of influencing the 2019 elections, which has not happened in any other country. And they didn't have the courage to come, to stand before the EP's investigative committee, but they will go there for positions and allowances? It's unprecedented - said Krzysztof Brejza on TVN24's "Fakty po Faktach" (Facts after Facts). - They lost their parliamentary seats, in reality, they should be in prison - he added.
