Telus in a Video: We Protect and Will Always Protect the Interests of the Polish Countryside. If Tusk Ruled, the EU's Whim Would Be More Important
- I hold in my hand a resolution on the embargo on Ukrainian grain. Some will say this is an ultimatum for Brussels, and we will say that they are issuing an ultimatum to Polish agriculture. We will not allow this, because we are a government loyal to the interests of the Polish farmer, not a Brussels bureaucrat - said Robert Telus in a video published on PiS social media. - Our goal is simple: to protect our market from the flood of grain from Ukraine, which is damaging the Polish agricultural market. Therefore, we will not open Polish borders to it, regardless of the European Union's policy - he continued. - We protect and will always protect the interests of the Polish countryside. For the PiS government, this is the most important matter. If Tusk ruled, the EU's whim would be more important, and farmers would suffer huge losses. We will not allow this - emphasized the Minister of Agriculture.

Kulasek on Extending the EU Grain Embargo: If PiS Fails, the Next Government of the Current Opposition Will Sort It Out
- In order to achieve anything, even to win, I would say more strongly, within the European Union, you need to have some relationships. Not to constantly badmouth the European Union, not to badmouth your neighbours, but to have relationships. The Law and Justice government has no such relationships, and that's why the Union doesn't want to be treated as a so-called ATM, from which only money is withdrawn, but it also wants to be treated as a community that decides on certain matters together - said Marcin Kulasek in an interview with Marcin Fijołek on Polsat News' "Graffiti". - As a matter of principle, we must primarily defend Poland's national interest, but we must also help Ukrainians. [...] Negotiate, negotiate, and negotiate again [on extending the embargo on Ukrainian grain in the EU]. If the Law and Justice government fails to do this, the next government of the current opposition will sort it out - he continued.

08:13

Scheuring-Wielgus:

I'm Calm About the Left, We'll Definitely Have Over 12%
- I am calm about the Left. That is to say, the plan we have prepared over the past few months, we are implementing it point by point, and actually, everything needs to be done calmly. Of course, we fear polarization [...], this polarization is certainly to the advantage of PiS and PO, but we must do our job and show our vision of the state - said Joanna Scheuring-Wielgus in the "Piasecki's Talk" on TVN24. - We will definitely have over 12%. [...] We do not have drastic drops, we do not have a situation where we are up, then suddenly down, and we have to worry about it. It is maximally stable, and people are also being convinced by us. We conduct surveys, we know which direction we should go, and I am convinced that it will certainly be more than 4 years ago - she continued.

08:16

Kulasek:

Civic Coalition Showed 100 Points, We Presented 230 Bills
- We are presenting this program, unlike Law and Justice, which, for example, shows some plan every day, and either this plan will work and they will see the differences in the polls and it will be implemented, or it won't. As I said, it's a game of appearances when it comes to Law and Justice's program. The Left has a program that can be implemented - said Marcin Kulasek on Polsat News. - I will also pinch our potential coalition partners a bit. The Civic Coalition presented 100 points, while we actually presented 230 bills over four years in the Sejm. The third largest parliamentary club, 230 bills [...] these bills unfortunately were all frozen, but these are ready bills - he continued.

08:25

Kulasek:

A Parliamentary Pact Could Be a Reset for the Opposition
- I believe a reset [for the opposition] could have been signing a parliamentary pact, meaning cooperation between the four democratic opposition parties, perhaps two weeks before October 15th. [...] for example, during or after the march, it doesn't matter, but it would be a signal to our voters that we can agree on the most important matters for Poland, these four groups - said Marcin Kulasek on Polsat News. - First and foremost, [this pact would address] the approach to the European Union, the rule of law, and fixing the things that PiS has broken, I'm talking about education, culture, among other things - he continued.

08:34

Scheuring-Wielgus:

No Deals with Confederation – I'd Want Such Declarations from Our Partners, Who Are Starting to Wink at Them
- I believe we in the opposition still have time. It's 4 weeks, and you know very well that a lot can change in politics in 4 weeks. We in the opposition are keeping our fingers crossed for everyone; there must be full mobilization, but there are two things that we, as the Left, are putting on the table and are somehow also demanding from the opposition parties – said Joanna Scheuring-Wielgus in „Rozmowa Piaseckiego” on TVN24. - The first thing: a parliamentary pact. This is an issue that people are asking us about on the streets. People expect us to stand together, to show that we are cooperating with each other. […] The second important thing: we, as the Left, are the only party that has clearly and unequivocally stated: zero deals with the Confederation. And I would want such declarations also from all our future, opposition partners, who are somehow starting to wink at the Confederation. People don't want this – she continued.

Soboń on the Prime Minister's Speech: A Decision Polish Farmers Were Waiting For

- A decision, I think, that Polish farmers were expecting and which we also announced. There is no reason today why this mechanism, which we managed to introduce in April, which is proving effective both for Ukraine's interests, because we have real transit, and for the system's integrity, because after placing this transit under the SENT system, which is a system where we control the transport of, for example, fuels, there is no question today of this system being leaky in any way. There is no reason for us to stop using this solution today. Not us as Poland, but as a whole, the European community - stated Artur Soboń in "Sygnały dnia" on PR1.

08:38

Kulasek:

If Civic Platform is tempted by Konfederacja's ideas, so be it, but the Left will not be in such a government
- The worst thing about all of this is that signals are appearing that this Konfederacja might not be so bad after all. I want to state clearly, just like my fellow leaders, that the Left will not be in a government that includes Konfederacja. Let them get that out of their heads. Because if we ask anyone from the democratic opposition – and I'm speaking to my colleagues here – for example, whether we will punish women with 10-year prison sentences for undergoing abortions, whether we will allow children to be beaten, whether we will adopt the narrative that taxes don't need to be paid and ZUS should be abolished – Marcin Kulasek said on Polsat News. - If these interesting ideas and projects [of Konfederacja] tempt Civic Platform [referring to Jan Grabiec's words about Konfederacja's "interesting ideas"], then so be it. But in such a government, I repeat with full responsibility, the Left will not be there. [...] We have a month until the elections, anything can happen, but in principle, we should fight for victory, not for creating some minority governments [...] we will not support brown power [...] no [not even in a technical government formula] – he continued.

08:43

Soboń:

Civic Coalition is a Party of Non-Polish Interests

- [Civic Coalition] is a party of non-Polish interests, interests that are very often steered from Berlin – stated Artur Soboń on "Sygnały dnia" PR1.

09:34

Suski:

We Won't Be Cornered by the European Commission

- We will not be cornered by the [European] Commission because we have the right to do so, and at the same time, the obligation to care for our farmers. We want Ukraine to win the war, we have been helping from the beginning, and we will continue to help, but even in Ukraine's interest, it is that Poland does not fall into trouble, because then we will not be able to help Ukraine - stated Marek Suski in the program “Kwadrans Polityczny” on TVP1.

- If the rule of law is to be maintained in the European Union, then they must agree with the interests of those countries that are on the front lines, which due to this war of Putin, because it is after all due to this war of Putin and the direct murdering, killing, kidnapping of people, rapes, and all this evil that is happening, but also the energy war, the food war, I don't think the European Commission will support Russia - he added.

09:36

Suski:

Tusk Ultimately Chose Kołodziejczak, Not Schetyna

- Because of Schetyna [Kołodziejczak was named opposition leader], as Schetyna mocks Donald Tusk, he was pushed into the Senate by Donald, so it's a rather frosty friendship. He's jabbing Donald, implying he took such a troublemaker as one of the leaders. Tusk ultimately chose Kołodziejczak, not Schetyna. It is, by the way, surprising and embarrassing that he treated Giertych better than his long-time party colleague, who is nonetheless a significant figure in the Civic Platform - stated Marek Suski in the program "Political Quarter Hour" on TVP1.

09:37

Suski on NIK Audit: We Know the President's Stance Towards PiS, So These Are Somewhat Political Assessments
Please tell our citizens, when a pandemic breaks out, that the government will not protect their health. Even if this money was spent excessively, no one could have predicted at the beginning of the pandemic how it would unfold. We wanted to create a situation where people wouldn't die in the streets, like in some Western countries (...) It's better to spend even a bit more money and have security for the citizens than to say a certain number of people died because we were saving on Poles' health. Let the Supreme Audit Office moderate itself a bit. We know the President of the Supreme Audit Office's stance towards Law and Justice, so these are somewhat political assessments - stated Marek Suski in the "Political Quarter of an Hour" program on TVP1.

09:43

Szynkowski vel Sęk on Extending the Ukrainian Grain Embargo: 'We Have an Unchanged Coalition, Poland is its Leader'

- We have an unchanged coalition [for extending the embargo on Ukrainian grain], Poland is its leader, of that I have no doubt. We have four other countries with us - stated Szymon Szynkowski vel Sęk.

09:45

Szynkowski vel Sęk: We Want to Protect the Polish Market, but Enable Transit of Ukrainian Grain Through Poland

- We want to protect the Polish market, but enable the transit of Ukrainian grain through the Polish market. To secure this transit, even Commissioner Wojciechowski proposes subsidies for this transit. What also needs to be clearly stated, I hope that all proposed solutions are being seriously considered by the EC - stated Szymon Szynkowski vel Sęk.

09:53

Mentzen:

NIK is completely independent of the Confederation. We want it to be independent of other parties too.
- I was precisely ensuring at that press conference that the Supreme Audit Office (NIK) remains independent of all politicians, so that it can issue reports like the one it released yesterday – Sławomir Mentzen said in an interview with Bogdan Rymanowski on the program "Gość Radia Zet". - Of course not [I didn't suggest the report's findings]. I did not discuss the findings of any reports with President Banaś. I care greatly that the NIK remains independent of politicians, precisely so that it can publish such reports – he continued. - The NIK is completely independent of the Confederation. We want it to be independent of other political parties as well, because I am not convinced that other political parties would want that – he added.

09:53

Szynkowski vel Sęk: They're trying to make a spectacle out of Kołodziejczak going to Brussels to sort something out

- They are trying to make a spectacle out of Michał Kołodziejczak going to Brussels to sort something out; he sat there like any other spectator. A trip to the European Parliament, to the gallery, he could have listened to that debate. The opposition has no idea how to help the government in this matter, and frankly, they could - stated Szymon Szynkowski vel Sęk.

09:54

Mentzen:

We are entering these elections to end PiS rule and prevent a Tusk government
- I don't think I would find great pleasure in such a conversation [with Donald Tusk and PO]. I keep repeating that we are entering these elections to end the rule of PiS and prevent Donald Tusk from forming a government – Sławomir Mentzen said on the program 'Guest of Radio Zet'. - I hope not. Well, if he [Przemysław Wipler] is conducting [coalition talks] and doesn't tell me anything about it, I will be very angry with him. If someone talks to Przemysław Wipler, they must know that he does not have my mandate for such conversations – he continued.

09:56

Mentzen:

Poland Cannot Afford to Retire 50-Year-Olds
- If someone was promised that by paying contributions they would retire at 60 or 65, they should receive that money at that age. However, the Polish state should do everything it can to encourage people to work longer, but voluntarily. Hence our idea that individuals who have reached retirement age should be exempt from income tax and ZUS contributions, so that it is even more financially beneficial for them to continue working than to retire – said Sławomir Mentzen in the program 'Gość Radia Zet'. - If someone wants to work until they die, let them work until they die. We have a pension system, someone paid contributions, they have a right to a pension. However, the Polish state should not send 50-year-olds into retirement; we cannot afford it – he added.

09:58

Mentzen:

The Left Demands a Gay Register; I Oppose It
- Of course, we want to solve their [homosexual couples'] vital problem, so they don't pay inheritance tax between themselves, and that's a very important matter. Because the Left has a far-reaching idea here. They want there to be registered partnerships, and within such a registered partnership, there should be no inheritance tax. And if someone doesn't sign up for a registered partnership, they will still have to pay the tax. Which literally means that the Left is demanding the introduction of a gay register. If a gay person signs up for the gay register, they won't pay inheritance tax later, and if they don't want to sign up for the state register, they'll pay the tax. I am against the Left creating a gay register – said Sławomir Mentzen on the program ,,Gość Radia Zet”.

10:00

Mentzen on the Visa Scandal: A Complete Disgrace for the Polish State, to Buy a Polish Visa for $5,000 at Some Stall at the End of the World
- We do not agree that at the end of the world, somewhere in Africa, one could buy a Polish visa for $5,000 at some stall. It absolutely should not look like this. This is a complete disgrace for the Polish state. How can the Polish government now say that it opposes the EU relocating a few thousand illegal immigrants to us, when we ourselves have brought in hundreds of thousands of illegal immigrants – said Sławomir Mentzen in the program "Guest of Radio Zet".

10:50

Telus on extending the ban on Ukrainian grain: If a decision is made not to extend it, it will be a political decision

- The entire agricultural world, including in Poland, is currently watching the European Union to see what it will do. We have no signals as to what the reaction will be. Once again, I want to say that whatever the reaction from the European Union, we, as the government, will certainly make our decision, the same one we made on April 15th, which completely changed the course of history. Because, in reality, if it weren't for that decision, which many accused of being illegal, then the EU's thinking would have completely changed - stated Robert Telus in an interview with Jacek Prusinowski on the program "Sedno sprawy" on Radio Plus.

- If a decision is made not to extend it, it will be an exclusively political decision. If the decision were based on merit, then we have the evidence, I have the experience, because I have spoken with many agriculture ministers in the EU, that if it were a decision based on merit, it would have been extended - he added.

10:51

Telus:

What We Are Doing Now Is Our Strong Stance; What We Did on April 15th is Building Opportunities for Ukraine's EU Entry

- What we are doing now is our strong stance; what we did on April 15th is indeed building opportunities for Ukraine's entry into the European Union. If we do not lose these tools today, then Poland will certainly not agree to Ukraine's entry. We must build tools today, because we will be living with Ukrainian products for a longer time. Yes, but when Poland joined the EU, we had to meet conditions, very rigorous conditions were set for us. We must set conditions for Ukraine; on the current basis, Polish agriculture will never win against Ukrainian. There are hundreds of thousands of farms there - stated Robert Telus on the "Sedno sprawy" program on Radio Plus.

11:16

Appeal from Senate Pact Participants: Don't Be Fooled by So-Called Independent Candidates; Many Cooperate with PiS
- When we met a few months ago to sign the Senate Pact, we stated very clearly that today all democratic forces are on the side of the Senate Pact, and all those on the other side are de facto supporting PiS candidates. We see very strongly that in many constituencies, PiS has employed its usual trick of nominating candidates with similar surnames and similar committee names, solely to spread disinformation, to reduce the chances of Senate Pact candidates, and to increase the chances of PiS candidates. Today, we appeal to all opposition voters: be very vigilant, do not be fooled by so-called independent candidates. Many of these candidates are directly cooperating with PiS - said Marcin Kierwiński at a press conference. - Everyone who tries to steal our logo will be immediately sued [...] We will encourage candidates to be very active in this campaign and, above all, to use the "Senate Pact" logo - said Dariusz Wieczorek. - Various methods, tricks, and circumventions are being used, designed to mislead our voters. [...] There is only one symbol, one Senate Pact. We have nothing to do with any other actions undertaken by other political forces or initiatives concerning the Senate, such as those by the Non-Partisan Local Government Officials, Confederation, as well as candidates and local committees. We perceive all these actions as an attempt to weaken and break up the Senate Pact and an attempt to increase the strength of the Law and Justice party - said Michał Kobosko.

11:31

Hołownia:

I Laughed at Glapiński for Having Reduced Agency. Unfortunately, He Has Incredible Agency When It Comes to Destroying the Złoty
- I often laughed at Governor Glapiński, saying he was a man with, let's say gently, reduced agency, that his primary talent should be in comedy, in memes, that's what he should focus on in life […], and when it comes to economics, his agency is nil – said Szymon Hołownia at a press conference in Gdańsk. - Unfortunately, I must admit, [that] this week it turned out that his agency is actually extraordinary. After Governor Glapiński's Friday conference, the złoty lost 20 groszy, which means every product we buy – and we buy quite a lot of them – from areas where payment is in dollars or euros, costs 20 groszy more for every dollar or euro it's worth. […] The fact that we will pay more for the things we buy means higher inflation – he continued. - This terrible agency of Glapiński, Morawiecki, and others is something that undermines our roots. They are taking our money, and we have seen this from this Friday in such a tangible way that it's impossible to be more convinced. Please, look at the incredible agency Glapiński possesses when it comes to destroying the Polish złoty, to exhausting, to bleeding the Polish economy dry – emphasized the leader of Poland 2050.

Civic Platform MPs: Numerous Groups Will Not Participate in the Vote
– This electoral law, the Electoral Code itself, has been changed many times recently, also with such a lack of respect for the Constitution, for the people who participate in elections, and these changes in the law over the last 8 years have significantly altered the possibility of participating in the vote, and this right to vote has simply been taken away from many Polish women and men – stated Agnieszka Pomaska at a press briefing in Gdańsk.

– Today, we have a situation where there is no universal postal voting, and consequently, there are numerous groups that will simply not participate in these elections. The first group consists of sailors, as the shipbuilding, maritime industry, and Polish vessels are actually few. In the previous elections to the Sejm, only 173 sailors voted on ships, while in Poland, we have an estimated 40 to 60 thousand sailors. Assuming half of them are at sea during the elections, we are denying, or PiS has denied, the opportunity to vote to 20 to 30 thousand people, and this is the first group and the first situation that we will speak out about loudly – Pomaska continued.

– People with temporary limited mobility, for example, those who have undergone operations but are at home, will not be able to participate in the vote. They would have to order medical transport, medical assistance, to take them, which costs around PLN 400-500 just for the act of voting. This is already the exclusion of people who, for various reasons, are grounded for a longer period. We are receiving these signals, people are simply writing to us – said Barbara Nowacka.

11:53

Hołownia:

With All Due Respect to the Good Intentions Behind the 'Grandma's Benefit' Idea – We Don't Want to Go Down That Path
- We in the Third Way say that we won't be handing out 150 here, 200 there, and 300 there, which in a moment will be worth 170-80 zlotys due to inflation. We will invest. […] These funds, which are currently distributed equally to everyone, rich and poor alike, [we will] invest in public services in such a way that they benefit those who genuinely need them - said Szymon Hołownia at a press conference in Gdańsk. - Therefore, we commit ourselves to the goal of creating 100,000 nursery places as quickly as possible – this is something that Polish women and families need today. […] These are tens of thousands of women who will regain their freedom – whether to stay at home or return to work, contribute, develop, build their careers for the good of all their loved ones, and for themselves. […] This amounts to approximately 3 billion 100 million zlotys, which is 3 times less than, for instance, the cost of the 'grandma's benefit' proposed during the campaign - he continued. - With all my respect for the good intentions of the authors of this idea – we do not want to go down this path, because we believe it is a false dilemma or a bad solution. Pushing one woman out of the labor market, meaning a grandmother who would stay home and receive money for it, so that a young woman can enter it. That's not how it should look. Let everyone who wants to work, work, let everyone who wants to stay home to look after children have that possibility, but we want to return freedom of choice to people - he went on to say.

Pekao Analysts: Paweł Borys's Verbal Intervention on the Zloty Regarding Government Tools to Strengthen It. The Effect on the Chart
"Paweł Borys's verbal intervention on the zloty regarding the government having tools to strengthen the zloty. The effect on the chart" - wrote analysts from Bank Pekao S.A.

PiS Appeals to Tusk: Mr. Donald, Return These Medals
- If, as we learned earlier, the Polish Prime Minister was on the phone with the German Chancellor, even regarding internal affairs, matters concerning Poles, such as raising the retirement age, and if in Moscow, in the context of Polish-Russian relations, in the context of the authorities' conduct after April 10th [...] the Chancellor casually mentions that Donald Tusk will receive the Charlemagne Prize, then it is not a coincidence, and the question is justified, even the thesis, in my opinion, is that in our view Donald Tusk received this award as thanks or as motivation for further work for the policy of reset - said Radosław Fogiel at a press conference. - Russia was interested in contacts with Europe, Germany was interested in trade with Russia, and Poland under Donald Tusk took on the role of a passive executor of German policy, an executor who occasionally pacified states in our region or served as a transmission belt for conveying Berlin's opinions - he continued. - Donald Tusk subordinated Polish foreign policy to his personal ambitions. He did everything to get a lucrative position in the European Union and knew that it was impossible without the support of Chancellor Angela Merkel [...] I think that in the context of what we know today, decency alone would dictate, and if not decency, if our competitors are devoid of it, then social pressure and bare facts would dictate the return of these German awards, these medals [...] we appeal to Donald Tusk: Mr. Donald, return these medals - he went on to say.

13:22

Bochenek on Opposition Allegations Regarding the Senate: These are Just More Insinuations
- These are just more insinuations by opposition politicians. I have no knowledge of this matter. We are playing to ensure that the lists of Law and Justice, of the United Right, achieve the best possible results. We are collecting signatures for our lists, for our candidates. The situations you are talking about are likely just more phantasmagoria from Civic Platform politicians - stated Rafał Bochenek during a press conference.

13:29

Fogiel:

Tusk Promised Weber a Good Election Result, Now He Knows It's Less Likely and is Trying to Justify Defeat
- If someone is telling such stories, it is another step in laying the groundwork for a potential defeat. This means Donald Tusk promised his voters, he promised his bosses in the European People's Party, probably Weber, a good election result. Today he knows that it is becoming less and less realistic and he is trying to create narrative lines that will justify this defeat – stated Radosław Fogiel during a press conference.

13:31

Bochenek on Ukrainian Prime Minister's Words: 'This Statement is Incomprehensible'
- This statement [by the Prime Minister of Ukraine] is incomprehensible because, as I said earlier, the transit of Ukrainian grain through Poland, within our country, will be permitted. We do not contest this in any way. We believe that, of course, Ukraine should be helped, but we cannot throw the baby out with the bathwater and allow a situation where our farmers, our citizens, suffer in any way because of this – stated Rafał Bochenek during a press conference.

13:35

Bochenek:

Allegation of mass visa issuance is false
- Proceedings are underway in this matter. There is a prosecutor's investigation, relevant services are involved, and of course they are checking. However, this allegation, this so-called mass issuance of visas, is fundamentally an untrue thesis, because I read the prosecution's statements and the prosecution is not talking about any mass issuance of visas for foreigners who would be coming here - stated Rafał Bochenek during a press conference. - I'm talking about facts and I'm relying on statements from the services and the prosecution. Several hundred visa cases. These matters are being verified, that's the first thing, and as for the individuals who have ever come to the country, they have been checked, verified, and they are very often seasonal workers who leave our country after their contracts and work have ended. This will not happen, we will not implement the policy that you, TVN, also care about, of forced relocation - he added.

13:40

Fogiel to TVN: I Understand You're Trying to Shield Your Viewers from Information That Tusk Received Awards from Merkel
- I greatly respect what you would prefer, you are trying to tell us here what you would expect from us. If I may very humbly, there would certainly be those who would claim that it is not the role of a TVN journalist to try to assign and distribute roles to politicians. Please forgive me, at a Law and Justice press conference, at the Law and Justice headquarters, it is ultimately Law and Justice politicians who will have the decisive voice. When you organize conferences at Wiertnicza, at the TVN headquarters, then you will probably broadcast them, because it's not a matter of our self-love, of course, but we have a view of all television stations here - it so happens that all news stations except TVN are broadcasting our meeting today. I understand that you are trying to shield your viewers from the information that Donald Tusk received awards from Chancellor Angela Merkel, one can presume for the reset policy, so I would rather leave that to your reflection - stated Radosław Fogiel during a press conference.

13:45

Bochenek:

It's Absurd for Civic Platform Strategists to Appear at Press Conferences from a Private TV Station
- It is indeed absurd that Civic Platform strategists come to press conferences from a private television station that strongly supports Donald Tusk, but in order to explain who the TVN employee Knapik is: Mr. Knapik once posted: "another election and again the same. Liberal commentators, who certainly wish the opposition well, not PiS, are attacking the opposition relentlessly without restraint. And then crying why people vote for PiS? Read your own texts." This was an appeal from Mr. Knapik to journalists who think slowly, who want to write independent texts, not to attack Civic Platform, not to hold Donald Tusk accountable, and this is how the information policy of TVN and Mr. Knapik looks like - stated Rafał Bochenek during a press conference.

13:48

Morawiecki:

Poland and Korea, Though on Opposite Sides of the World, Also on Opposite Sides of Russia – We Share a Side in Defending Civilization and Peace

- Mr. Prime Minister of the Republic of Korea, thank you very much for your visit here to Poland. It is extremely important for us; it underscores not only the role of friendship but also a deeply developed cooperation between Poland and Korea. Our countries, though distant from each other, have more in common than might seem. We have experienced living in the shadow of a powerful neighbor. Poland and Korea have powerful neighbors. This experience is very common and current. Russia is our neighbor, and what it is doing today in Ukraine, how it is worsening security conditions in the Far East, causes us to share the same reflections, concerns, and the same hopes for the future – stated Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki during a press conference with the Prime Minister of the Republic of Korea.

- Poland and Korea, though on opposite sides of the world, are also on opposite sides of Russia. However, we share a side in defending civilization and peace, and this connects us. This leads us to have more and more common economic and defense projects. We spoke with the Prime Minister a moment ago about sharing the view that the best defense shield is a strong economy. The Prime Minister was a finance minister, as was I; he has dealt with economic matters for many years, and this also connects us – shared experience – he added.

- We are able to utilize the changes occurring in the global economy, especially after COVID, by shortening supply chains, and Poland is benefiting from this. At the same time, we also know how strongly Korea is involved in rebuilding its supply chains and production – he continued.

Telus on Ukrainian Grain Embargo: We Demand the EU Extend the Ban at Least Until the End of the Year, Until Cooperation is Regulated

- The coalition that fought for the issues of frontline countries, our coalition, which we built, pushed the EU to make the decision to introduce a ban. Why until September 15th? Nobody knows, we don't know either. Nobody in the EU has given us any argument as to why it is September 15th, and not longer. That is why we are demanding that the EU extend this deadline, the ban, at least until the end of the year, but we also believe that this will not be enough; it must be until this cooperation between the EU and Ukraine, and Ukraine and Poland is regulated - stated Robert Telus at a press briefing.

KGHM Polska Miedź S.A. Adds Eight Photovoltaic Installations to Its Portfolio

PARTNERSHIP CONTENT

KGHM has purchased a portfolio of eight photovoltaic installations from Projekt Solartechnik, with a total capacity of nearly 50 MW. The farms acquired by the copper company are located in the Lower Silesian, Łódź, Pomeranian, and Greater Poland voivodeships.

“This is the first transaction of its kind for KGHM Polska Miedź S.A., which will ensure a significant increase in installed capacity in renewable energy sources. The investment, in addition to its primary goal related to KGHM's ongoing energy transformation, will also have a substantial impact on structuring KGHM's policy regarding the integration of RES assets, both those developed in-house and those acquired through our M&A activities. The purchased installations will provide approximately 2% of KGHM's electricity demand coverage,” said Mateusz Wodejko, Vice President of the Management Board of KGHM for Financial Affairs.

“Our cooperation with KGHM Polska Miedź S.A. began with a PPA (Pay-As-Produced, physical delivery contract) for the supply of green energy from one of Projekt Solartechnik's photovoltaic farms. Now, our partner will become the owner of this and seven other solar power plants,” said Krzysztof Czajka, Vice President of Sales at Projekt Solartechnik. “We sincerely thank them for their trust. We are pleased to be able to support the copper company in its green transformation,” he added.

The acquisition of photovoltaic installations aligns with the goals set out in KGHM's strategy. The copper giant aims to achieve climate neutrality by 2050 and, indirectly, intends to meet at least 50% of its electricity demand from its own sources by 2030, including Renewable Energy Sources.

As part of its energy transformation, KGHM is developing wind and photovoltaic power plant projects on its own land, while also actively acquiring companies possessing RES installation projects in advanced investment preparation stages or already operational projects (both photovoltaic and wind).

The copper giant is consistently implementing its energy development program, reducing the share of conventional energy and increasing the company's energy independence. In addition to intensifying activities in the renewable energy sector, KGHM has also taken a significant step towards the further development of nuclear energy. The Ministry of Climate and Environment has issued a foundational decision for KGHM regarding the construction of a small modular nuclear reactor (SMR) in Poland. KGHM has thus received official state approval for the planned investment in accordance with the assumptions and concept presented by the company.

Projekt Solartechnik is a company with over a decade of experience gained in Polish and European markets. It has built solar power plants in countries including England, Belgium, France, Germany, Romania, and Hungary. In Poland, it specializes in photovoltaic projects, industrial energy, and wind farms. Projekt Solartechnik is part of the Grenevia Group (FAMUR) and TDJ.

Budka:

We are fighting for first place, but of course we have a coalition option
- It is very important to be the leading party in this electoral race, to overtake PiS [...] we are fighting for first place, of course - said Borys Budka in a conversation with Tomasz Terlikowski on RMF FM's "Afternoon Conversation". - I am not considering any other outcome, but of course we have a coalition option. For us, the democratic opposition parties are natural partners. We governed with PSL and cooperate within the European People's Party, and with the Left - he continued.

Budka:

I have the impression Hołownia has outmaneuvered himself; we can only keep our fingers crossed that the PSL helps achieve a good result
- I have the impression that Szymon Hołownia has outmaneuvered himself, so today we can only keep our fingers crossed that the experienced PSL helps them achieve a good electoral result - Borys Budka said on RMF FM.

Telus's Embarrassing Statement Shows He Doesn't Understand Politics
- Telus's embarrassing statement [on Poland potentially blocking Ukraine's EU accession], once again he doesn't understand what politics is about, but this is deliberate. They have polls, anti-Ukrainian sentiments are emerging today, and Morawiecki and his associates are sitting in the Chancellery of the Prime Minister and have now decided they will suddenly pursue such a policy [...] they are fighting for their party's interest - Borys Budka said on RMF FM.

Kaczyński:

They tell me half of the Civic Coalition club is calling me. For 8 years they've been shouting about dictatorship, and now they're constantly calling me. I don't understand them at all

- Today, even though I am accustomed to various surprises, something completely extraordinary is happening to me. I am being told that, more or less, at least half of the Civic Platform, or rather Civic Coalition, club is calling me. I don't have my phone with me, of course, because it bulges my pockets, but I don't see it there, yet they tell me so. And on the other hand, for 8 years they've been shouting about dictatorship, and now they are constantly calling me. I don't understand them at all, but it's hard to understand them. Well, but this is just a joke after a very successful video with my cat - stated Jarosław Kaczyński in Elbląg.

Kaczyński:

Even pension matters were agreed with Merkel. Do you want a Poland like that?

- They simply have, one could say, disposers outside of Poland. If anyone has not believed this until now and said it was our propaganda, then if they watched the latest episode, yesterday's film 'RESET', this film series, they could see that even pension matters were agreed with Mrs. Merkel. Do you want a Poland where decisions concerning completely internal matters, matters of Poles, will be agreed upon in Berlin or even in Brussels? Do you want to be citizens or a population? - stated Jarosław Kaczyński in Elbląg.

18:57

Kaczyński:

When someone commits an abuse of power here, they lose their position and the prosecutor gets involved. And what do they do? They defend those people as if their independence were at stake.
- Thanks to us, today we are a developing country, a sovereign country, a country where mistakes are obviously made, because only those who do nothing make no mistakes, and abuses also occur. But there is a fundamental difference - when someone commits an abuse of power here, they lose their position and the prosecutor gets involved. And what do they do? They defend those people as if their independence were at stake, I am quoting Mr. Neumann here - stated Jarosław Kaczyński in Elbląg.

Budka on potential problems with changing abortion laws: We'll wait until Trzaskowski is president
- We will manage [with the required number of MPs and a potential presidential veto during an attempt to change abortion regulations in the next Sejm term], but if that doesn't work out, there are still issues concerning, for instance, the guidelines of the Minister of Health [...] fortunately, there is no ruling from the Constitutional Tribunal; the ruling issued was in violation of the law, with the participation of substitute judges - Borys Budka said on RMF FM. - That's why you need 276 votes to overturn the [president's] veto [host: "that doesn't look likely"]. We'll wait until Trzaskowski is president - he continued.

19:01

Kaczyński:

Tusk threatened to have the NBP President removed by several strong men. This is a violation of the constitution, the end of the rule of law in Poland.

- If Tusk announced that he would have the President of the National Bank removed by several strong men from the National Bank, then this is a violation of the constitution, a violation of laws. This is simply a mockery of the rule of law, meaning the end of the rule of law in Poland. If he said the same about the President of the Constitutional Tribunal, then in substance he was saying the same thing. That is to say, he was saying that no law will apply here, the constitution will not apply. What will apply is the so-called project. They used to refer to it, they do it less often today, when they spoke about their power, about the project of consolidating this power for many terms, perhaps for very many decades. It is thanks to us that this did not succeed - stated Jarosław Kaczyński in Elbląg.

19:01

Kaczyński on Judicial Reform: Unfortunately, It Didn't Succeed Due to External Resistance. But This Time It Will.

- Another such topic was the courts. When I spoke about judicial reform, about simply restoring law and elementary decency in the judiciary, there were also ovations, and I see that this continues and, of course, it's right because, unfortunately, it didn't succeed due to external resistance. But this time it will succeed – stated Jarosław Kaczyński in Elbląg.

19:04

Kaczyński suggests replacing Tusk with Trzaskowski:

He is an extreme leftist.

- He is a shadow, a helper. I don't want to use that word anymore, besides, being a squire wasn't insignificant. One could become a knight from that. So, he has such a master, and some say he will step into his role. I don't know if that will happen, but that's what they're saying in Warsaw. I'm talking about the Mayor of Warsaw, Trzaskowski. Don't be fooled. It's exactly the same, and you could even say it's worse, because while Tusk has no views, other than that he needs to be very important, needs to be in Europe, needs to be a king, etc., but beyond that, he has no views. Well, maybe a bit of those liberal ones, fairy tales about how to organize social life without a state, etc. But this one is an extreme leftist. Whether he deeply believes in this, I don't know. Whether it's his tactic, I also don't know, but what he's doing in Warsaw is extreme leftism. And that also threatens us. Here I address you, do not be fooled by this, because it's like, you could say, jumping from a great downpour into a gutter - stated Jarosław Kaczyński in Elbląg.

19:06

Kaczyński to the Opposition: I Will Repeat After Marshal Witek. The Hell of Women Was During Your Time

- I will repeat after the Marshal, our Marshal, Marshal Witek. That if they sometimes talk about the hell of women, that we are supposedly creating the hell of women, one can answer. The hell of women was during your time - stated Jarosław Kaczyński in Elbląg.

19:08

Kaczyński:

We Don't Claim to Be Sinless, But Compared to Them, You're Choosing Between Black and White

- There is a great pretence, both concerning the political parties we are currently vying with for voters, and various other supporting circles where this story could be told. Of course, I will not do that, that's not why I came here, as to how things truly stand in that regard. Believe me, although we do not claim to be sinless, because only Christ and Mary were without sin, but compared to them, you are choosing between black and white – stated Jarosław Kaczyński in Elbląg.

19:21

Kaczyński:

Our Program is Free of Nonsense and, Naturally, Without a List of People to Repress
Our program has 300 pages, and points. There is such a comparison currently. They presented 100 proposals and 100 specifics. If our 300 pages were broken down into points, theirs would amount to 150, but this is a very compressed breakdown, as it could also be expanded to 300, as the spokesperson said here. Truly, this program is not only concise, coherent, calculated, and free of various sorts of – I beg your pardon – nonsense written into it, but also, naturally, without a list of people intended for repression. This is perhaps a relevant issue, but it is a matter for the justice system, not party programs - stated Jarosław Kaczyński in Elbląg.

Pekao Vice-President: High-Efficiency Energy Storage Will Be Key to True National Energy Sovereignty
"A technological breakthrough in energy storage is needed. In my opinion, Poland needs a two-stage transition period – reducing gas consumption and implementing a policy focused on its own energy fuels and imports from safe countries, within a limited timeframe. The element that will ensure the country's true energy sovereignty will be high-efficiency energy storage," said Paweł Strączyński during the Krynica Forum in a discussion titled "Derussification of European Energy – A Real Goal or Utopia?"

19:41

Pekao Vice President: We Should Base the Energy Transition Phase on Coal, but Ultimately Nuclear Energy Should Be Our Energy Backbone
"We should base the phase of the energy transition on coal, because we have it in the country, we are able to produce it. Ultimately, nuclear energy should be our energy backbone: large nuclear reactors plus SMRs," said Paweł Strączyński, Vice President of Bank Pekao S.A. overseeing the Financial Division at the Krynica Forum.

20:04

Grodzki:

Perhaps PiS's Constant Tendency to Twist the Truth Stems from Kaczyński's Love for Cats
- It's difficult to comment on this otherwise than as a constant tendency of PiS, or a bad habit, perhaps stemming from the party leader's love for cats – they are excellent at twisting the truth. What President Kaczyński says is simply untrue; there are facts and evidence to the contrary. Electoral rhetoric does not entitle anyone to lie to someone's face – said Tomasz Grodzki in an interview with Anita Werner on TVN24's „Fakty po Faktach,” referring to Jarosław Kaczyński's words about hell for women under PO's rule.

20:19

Grodzki:

I Do Not Rule Out Addressing Poles With a Message Soon

Tomasz Grodzki was asked on TVN24's "Fakty po Faktach" why he doesn't use the opportunity to deliver a message to the nation.

- I do not rule out that something like that will happen – replied the Marshal of the Senate.

When pressed whether it would happen soon, he responded: Perhaps.

20:21

Telus:

There are no arguments against extending the ban on grain imports to Poland
- The facts speak for themselves, that substantively [the embargo on grain from Ukraine] should be extended, and we know this, there are no arguments against extending this ban on grain imports to Poland [...] I spoke with many [ministers of agriculture], none gave me any arguments or denied that this ban should be extended at least until the end of the year - said Robert Telus in an interview with Danuta Holecka on the TVP Info program "Gość Wiadomości". - We are sure that even if the European Commission does not decide to do so, we will decide, because it is in the interest of the Polish farmer - he continued.

20:22

Grodzki on the Spot with Kaczyński: A Jab, Likely Unintentional, at the Prime Minister's Long Nose. It's Not Common for a Chancellor to Call a Party Leader
- The party leader probably lacks experience in online activities, and it's very easy to become a mocked meme on the internet, and that's what happened with President Kaczyński's appearance - said Tomasz Grodzki in an interview with Anita Werner on TVN24's "Fakty po Faktach." - However, few people noticed the following fact: a chancellor should actually call the prime minister, perhaps the president, and not the party leader. So I perceived it a bit as a jab, likely unintentional, at the prime minister's rather long nose. It's not common for a chancellor to call a party leader, who moreover responds rather rudely - he continued.

20:27

Telus on Ukraine's Prime Minister: If He Wanted to Sue Us at the WTO, He'd Also Have to Sue the EU
- After all, we are not going to do anything different from what is currently in effect, and what is currently in effect was decided by the European Union. So, if [Ukraine's Prime Minister] wanted to sue us at the World Trade Organization [WTO], he would also have to sue the European Union, because we are not changing the rules, so to speak, but [leaving] the same rules that are in place at this moment. Transit is moving, it just doesn't enter our market - Robert Telus stated on TVP Info.
