President Duda: The People of Rural Poland Saved the Republic. I Want Modern Amenities for Rural Poland; Communication, Broadband Internet, All Goods Once a Privilege of Big Cities, to Be Available There.
- The people of rural Poland saved the Republic. Not for the first time, nor the only time in our history, it was they who stood in defense of Poland, so that Poland would remain on the map, to defend Polishness, to defend faith. It was they who then fought in 1939. It was they who created the Home Army, the Peasant Battalions. It was they who fought as the Cursed Soldiers. It was they, finally, who in the 1980s created the Independent Farmers' "Solidarity." I want to assure you that as President of the Republic of Poland, elected for another term, also with your votes, for which I wholeheartedly want to thank you again, I will do everything to ensure that you can not only work peacefully, provide us with food security, but above all, I will do everything to ensure that rural areas develop as best as possible - said President Andrzej Duda during the Jasna Góra Harvest Festival.
The President spoke about his commitments to rural areas: - First and foremost, I assure you that I will do everything to ensure that rural Poland develops as best as possible, that modern amenities are also provided for rural Poland; communication, broadband internet, all kinds of goods that were recently a privilege of big cities, to be available there, so that what we call equal development of the country becomes a reality, so that there is good education in rural areas, so that there is access to cultural goods in rural areas, so that there is also access to sport and recreation in rural areas.
- I am here not only to thank you for the year, for the harvest. I am also here to thank you, on behalf of the entire Polish society, you – the farmers. For your hardship, your work in the fields. It is a matter particularly enshrined in the constitution to stand guard over the security of the state. Food security is one of the important elements of our country's security - said the President.
- Everyone remembers how empty shop shelves were shown on television because people were afraid whether there would be enough supplies. Those shop shelves, which were empty for a moment, were quickly filled with food products within a few days. There was no shortage of food - the President said.
