- I know nothing about that [that the president is not interested in debating Rafał Trzaskowski]. What's more, the president already participated in two debates during the first round, which has never happened before for an incumbent president. However, there was a proposal now where the president was summoned like a student to the carpet, for a debate prepared by TVN and several friendly media outlets, and of course, by the friendly Rafał Trzaskowski. In that format, no, a debate must be mutually agreed upon, and if such a debate were to happen, there are still a few days left. The president clearly stated that if, for example, all three major television stations agreed among themselves, he would come to such a debate. The president is not afraid of debates, but he is not afraid of setups where the opponent's campaign team defines everything about how it should look and for what the president should come. That was simply unfair – stated Marcin Horała in TVN24's "Rozmowa Piaseckiego".

- And at this debate of Mr. Trzaskowski, a worker from Warsaw's municipal institutions appeared as one of the journalists, hence his employee. He no longer works [at Najwyższy Czas], or he still works there, but in a separate capacity, he works for the Warsaw municipality, perhaps in one of the district offices - stated Marcin Horała on TVN24's "Rozmowa Piaseckiego".

- One cannot legitimize lies and falsehoods in this way. We were prepared for any provocation, absolutely any provocation in Końskie, and that's why we decided, I prefer to speak about it honestly, to propose a completely different format - said Sławomir Nitras in a conversation with Beata Lubecka on the program "Gość Radia ZET".

“When you compare these two debates, it seems that President Andrzej Duda’s appearance in Końskie completely outshone what we could see in Leszno. Rafał Trzaskowski lacks credibility in his actions. Trzaskowski meets with journalists and declares he will answer every question. We could see the true face of Trzaskowski a few weeks ago in Płock, when he was asked a question by a local journalist and said that these elections are meant to prevent such questions from being asked” – said Deputy Prime Minister Jacek Sasin in an interview with Robert Mazurek on RMF FM. 

- If Radio ZET, if any radio station brings Andrzej Duda before free media that ask questions, Rafał Trzaskowski will definitely show up, regardless of whether it's in Końskie, Leszno, or any other town. We are not afraid, Trzaskowski is not afraid to answer questions from independent journalists - said Sławomir Nitras on Radio ZET.

- But is he afraid to answer Michał Adamczyk's questions then? - asked Beata Lubecka.

- And is Mr. Adamczyk an independent journalist? Is TVP an objective television? We have been, Rafał Trzaskowski cannot say he hasn't been on TVP, he has been on TVP. He answered questions. We all know he was asked about Holy Communion and other sacraments, not about matters most important to Poland. All possible provocations from TVP in this campaign have already happened. Everything bad TVP can do to Polish democracy, it has already done. Let's not give them a chance to manipulate again. To be clear, if Mr. Adamczyk is the representative of TVP at a debate where journalists from other media can also ask questions, Rafał Trzaskowski will also show up - replied Nitras.

"It's not as if today, after several decades, we can just casually sit down with Germany, dismiss the issue of reparations, and say, 'Pay up.' These are actions being taken on many levels: in the media, in discussions between Polish and German politicians, it is present. Formally, there is no government position, no negotiating stance, but the issue is constantly raised in conversations, it exists in Polish-German relations" - said Deputy Prime Minister Jacek Sasin on RMF FM. 

 

- The situation at Czajka looked like this. There was indeed a planned conference by Rafał Trzaskowski, and they [the ministers] burst into Czajka after a scuffle, of course unfilmed, with security guards, pushing their way through the guards, two gentlemen ministers who wanted to disrupt Rafał Trzaskowski's conference - said Sławomir Nitras on Radio ZET.

- I am not aggressive, I repeat for the umpteenth time and I would ask you not to accuse me of that, I am simply effective - Nitras added, addressing Lubecka.

„In recent weeks, I have spoken clearly that the ruling party is hiding a great many facts. First and foremost, the condition of the Polish economy. Consequently, there have been reports of tax increases. We directed questions to the ruling party on this matter. Recently, disturbing reports have emerged in this regard. Serious press titles are reporting that the ruling party is allegedly preparing to abolish districts. This is very worrying news for me as a local government official. If it is true, it would fit the PiS philosophy of destroying local governments, limiting their prerogatives. PiS is already doing this now through faits accomplis” - said Rafał Trzaskowski, candidate of Civic Coalition for president and mayor of the capital city of Warsaw, at a press conference in Leszno.

- In June, we have 3% higher revenues, in June of this year, mind you, than in June of last year. And June of this year was a very poor June for the entire world. Therefore, this demonstrates that the economy is rebounding, consumption is picking up, and indeed, consumption picked up by several percent in June. Exports are also picking up – stated Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki in Oborniki.

“I cannot fathom these kinds of statements. I have previously heard that the President is unsure if humans influence climate change. Now he is speaking about vaccines. Very strange statements. I am saying out loud that vaccines for children are absolutely necessary. All experts agree on this. I don't know why the President makes such statements” - said Rafał Trzaskowski, candidate of the Civic Coalition for President and Mayor of the Capital City of Warsaw, at a press conference in Leszno.

“Mandatory vaccinations for children are absolutely necessary. Those who oppose them seem out of touch with the 21st century” - he added.

- The package of mandatory vaccinations includes vaccinations that protect children and adults from very serious diseases; these vaccinations should remain mandatory. However, the issue of a mandatory COVID-19 vaccine, which doesn't even exist yet, is indeed under discussion as to whether it should be mandatory or not. It should certainly be co-financed by the state, if such a vaccine were to appear - said Piotr Müller in an interview with Jacek Prusinowski on Radio Plus's "Sedno Sprawy" (The Core of the Matter).

- First and foremost, we are currently analyzing the financial consequences of this. We are looking at the tourism industry as a whole, so if it turns out that these financial resources would be proportionate to the aid needed for the tourism industry, then such a decision will be made. I do not rule out such a possibility - said Piotr Müller on Radio Plus.

„Mandatory childhood vaccinations are a global standard. As for a coronavirus vaccine, it doesn't exist yet. It's difficult to talk about any solutions. No one should force an adult to take such a vaccine, but let's wait and see if these vaccines will be available or not, and how the epidemiological situation will look in the coming months and years. I find it hard to imagine a situation where the government forces adults to get vaccinated” – said Rafał Trzaskowski, the Civic Coalition's presidential candidate and Mayor of Warsaw, at a press conference in Leszno.

- I am a supporter of debates, but if a debate is to make sense, it must be fair and the presidential candidates participating in it must have equal chances. And such a debate could have been organized, if the organizers were the three largest television stations + other media, and that was possible, it was on the table. And Andrzej Duda refused this proposal. Andrzej Duda said: no, I don't want such a debate, I don't want a normal debate, I want a rigged debate, organized by TVP, to which I gave 2 billion PLN with a signature. This is the truth about what happened yesterday. So I think, yes, it's true, elections can be lost in Końskie, and Andrzej Duda, which I sincerely wish him, loses the election after a rigged debate in Końskie, which we saw yesterday - stated Grzegorz Schetyna in an interview with Beata Michniewicz on "Polityczny Salon Trójki".

- If the situation arises where the losses resulting from yesterday's disastrous statements and remarks about a ban or lack of support for mandatory vaccinations have an impact on election polls, then I believe there is a possibility that Andrzej Duda, chasing Rafał Trzaskowski, with Rafał Trzaskowski escaping, might agree to a debate, and then Thursday or Friday would be the best time to conduct such a debate - stated Grzegorz Schetyna in an interview with Beata Michniewicz on "Trójka's Political Salon".

- At this moment, the government has not yet adopted such a bill. I think the matter of the president's announced veto effectively closes this topic. The President said he would not agree to these regulations, so if there were a clear declaration from the President, it would be difficult to proceed with such a bill - said Piotr Müller on Radio Plus.

What kind of Poland do we want. - We wanted to express regret that a debate will not take place between the first and second rounds of the presidential election. As we know, yesterday TVP, as the only broadcaster legally obliged to organize and conduct debates before every election, invited both candidates who made it to the second round of the presidential election to a town, to the town of Końskie. Why Końskie? As we recall, but perhaps not all viewers know this, Grzegorz Schetyna, the long-time leader of Civic Platform, once famously stated in an interview with Marek Migalski in 2016 that elections in Poland are not won in Wilanów, a luxurious district of Warsaw, but precisely in Końskie. The Polish constitution, in Article 18, mandates that the family be under the special care of the Polish state, and that children be under the special care of the state. "Today, the ruling party is weakening opportunities for equalizing chances and solving local problems in rural Poland with their actions. Firstly, the issue of education. What the ruling party has done, the chaos they have introduced into Polish schools, this attack on teachers, is unprecedented. All teachers, regardless of whether they are from a small town or a big city, do not agree to be constantly attacked. Unfortunately, the ruling party cynically tries to deepen or even initiate divisions in Polish society. The fact that the President was absent as a defender of Polish teachers is perhaps the biggest sin of his presidency. They told us they would reform healthcare to shorten queues for specialists, but according to all statistics, most of these queues are actually lengthening. They promised greater press freedom, yet in all rankings, we are falling further down, and it turns out there is less and less freedom for the press and media. - As it turns out, the driver of the public transport bus was under the influence of intoxicating substances. This unfortunately allows us to conclude that all of us who are in Warsaw are exposed to danger. All road users, not just passengers, but also pedestrians and drivers of other vehicles, are exposed to danger because procedures concerning public transport drivers, relating to safety, are not being followed. Therefore, we have an appeal to President Trzaskowski, a candidate in these elections, to urgently appear in Warsaw and initiate a review of these procedures, the non-compliance with which threatens the safety of all individuals present in Warsaw. Mr. Rafał Trzaskowski, we appeal for you to fulfill the duties to which your voters appointed you, because it was you, not any of your vice-presidents, who won the election in Warsaw, and it was you who guaranteed that this city would be properly managed – stated Kamil Bortniczuk at a press briefing.

- Our appeal to Rafał Trzaskowski to temporarily set aside his campaign, to reorder his priorities, and to address the dramatic situation in Warsaw as quickly as possible. Something unprecedented has happened. As Representative [Bortniczuk] said, one accident could be an isolated incident that happens anywhere and anytime, but if we are now facing a series of accidents involving public transport buses, operated by a German company on behalf of the city, President Trzaskowski, and a second bus driver who has an accident while under the influence of drugs, then the situation is serious and requires decisive action. Once again, we will be able to see how Rafał Trzaskowski behaves during a crisis, and hence our truly very serious appeal to treat this matter with the utmost diligence. If Rafał Trzaskowski fails to meet the challenge and if it turns out, as for example in the case of the coronavirus crisis, that he evades problems, our MPs will tomorrow initiate parliamentary scrutiny of the company that employs the drivers and operates the transport services in Warsaw. However, we earnestly appeal for this matter to be treated as a priority - stated Radosław Fogiel at a press briefing.

- Full mobilization is needed because it's exactly fifty-fifty. Exactly so. One day Rafał has an advantage, the next day it's Andrzej Duda. Absolute mobilization is necessary - said Borys Budka in an interview with Borys Budka on the "Gość Wydarzeń" program on Polsat News.

- In my opinion, it will be a difference of 100,000, 50,000 votes. I don't think we will know who won until the very end of election night - added the Civic Platform leader.

- Andrzej Duda deserted. He was afraid of questions from independent journalists. Rafał Trzaskowski submitted himself to scrutiny from left to right. Even a journalist from 'Gazeta Polska' could ask him questions. And what did Andrzej Duda offer in return? A staged encounter with people for whom he allocated PLN 2 billion instead of for Polish oncology. We don't have independent public television; it's Andrzej Duda's campaign headquarters. In fact, the material shown in 'Wiadomości' and on TVP Info are Duda's election spots - Borys Budka said on Polsat News. 

- The President, who says vaccinations shouldn't be mandatory, later says he meant other vaccinations. Yesterday, he clearly said an unprecedented thing, that in his opinion, vaccinations shouldn't be mandatory. I am surprised that we haven't heard from the Minister of Health yet - Borys Budka said on Polsat News.

- President Duda, who says that vaccinations shouldn't be mandatory, is like saying that one person can run a red light, not run it. Today, education is needed, today the Minister of Health is talking about vaccines, today the Chief Sanitary Inspector is talking about vaccines, and Andrzej Duda? I'm waiting for him to say the Earth is flat - he added.

- There is a certain line. I will never accept ONR flags at the Independence March. We will never accept fascist gestures. Fortunately, this is a decisive minority. These are very irresponsible people, but we must speak clearly. We are not hypocrites. We tell voters where that line is - said Borys Budka on Polsat News. 

- I feel no satisfaction [that Rafał Trzaskowski did not attend yesterday's TVP debate]. Poles deserve a debate before the second round of presidential elections. We've never had a situation like this before. I would like to remind you that TVP is the only television station in Poland legally obligated to conduct such a debate. In turn, President Duda is the first Polish president who agreed to participate in debates before the first round. Until now, Polish presidents who sought re-election, Lech Wałęsa, Bronisław Komorowski, resigned from such an opportunity. President Duda, out of respect for all voters, participated twice in debates before the first round - stated Adam Bielan in an interview with Michał Adamczyk on TVP Info's "Gość Wiadomości".
