Trzaskowski:

The Government is Failing on Mining Too. We Remember Promises That Mining Would Be PiS's Top Priority, That No Mines Would Be Closed, Yet 8 Mines Have Been Shut Down. We See Plans to Close More.
Yesterday, we clearly stated that the government is not coping with the epidemic. Do you remember that just a few weeks ago, the government was saying that the epidemic was actually dying down, and we, as local government officials, have been saying for many, many months that there would be problems in the mines, and that is exactly what has happened. But the government is also not coping with mining. We remember the announcements that mining would be the most important thing for the PiS government, that there would be no liquidation of mines, and yet 8 mines have been liquidated. We see plans for further liquidations. 15,000 jobs have been lost, and for a long time now, coal has been imported from abroad. 17 million tons imported from exotic countries like Russia, Colombia, or Australia. The government has not even been able to stabilize prices. Today, these imported prices are cheaper than the prices of Polish coal mined here in the mines, even though the government promised something completely different, and today we need to say a clear 'let's check.' - stated Rafał Trzaskowski at a press briefing in Rybnik.

10:38

Trzaskowski:

There are huge EU funds for energy transformation, and Silesia has a great chance to benefit from them. But one must be ready for this, one must tell the truth about the situation, not make promises to the mining sector and then fail to keep t

- There are huge EU funds for energy transformation, and Silesia has a great chance to benefit from these funds. But one must be ready for this, one must tell the truth about the situation, not make promises to the mining sector and then fail to keep one's promises. And I also clearly stated, I clearly declared, when it comes to EU aid, I am ready to help the government, if I were to become president, in order to ensure that every job in Silesia is fought for, and Silesia has a huge opportunity ahead of it, if we talk about this clearly and if we talk about it honestly, and not if the PiS government continuously misleads everyone and clearly shows that it is not coping with the situation, neither with the epidemic, nor unfortunately with Polish mining – stated Rafał Trzaskowski at a press briefing in Rybnik.

Trzaskowski:

Szumowski Should Resign Immediately

- Day by day, we are receiving further shocking information. I have been speaking very cautiously regarding Minister Szumowski, despite the numerous doubts that arose in previous days. However, what we are hearing now, about respirators that were supposed to be purchased for such enormous sums of money and then this transaction did not materialize, as we hear and as we see, the situation where officials are taking such sensitive documents home, is something absolutely unheard of, and that is why I believe Minister Szumowski should resign immediately - stated Rafał Trzaskowski at a press briefing in Rybnik.

10:54

Trzaskowski:

I Want to Thank Everyone Again for the Incredible Mobilization and Energy, as Almost 2 Million Signatures Were Collected in 5 Days, an Absolute Record

- Indeed, during the night I was registered by the electoral commission, which counted the first 100,000 signatures. I want to thank everyone again most sincerely for this incredible mobilization and energy, as almost 2 million signatures were collected in 5 days, which is an absolute record - stated Rafał Trzaskowski at a press briefing in Rybnik.

12:17

Duda:

Today, they're still trying to push ideology on us, just a different one. It's a form of neo-Bolshevism. An MP was removed from a Polish TV station for calling it ideology. They try to convince us it's about people, but it's simply ideology.
- Today, we are also defending our values. Observe the reaction to my Family Charter declaration, in which I referred to fundamental, constitutional values. Even in the 1997 constitution, the family is emphasized, there is an affirmation of the family and the affirmation of marriage as a union of a woman and a man. The family as being under special protection from the state, along with motherhood and parenthood. Yes, it is also emphasized with all our might. The right of parents to raise children according to their own beliefs. Back then, it was still well remembered that the attempts throughout communism to push communist ideology onto children in schools was Bolshevism, it was ideologizing children - said President Andrzej Duda in Brzeg. - Today, they are still trying to push ideology on us, just a different one. A completely new one, although it is also a form of neo-Bolshevism. Because if ideology is smuggled into schools to change children's perspectives and shape their worldview, for instance, through the sexualization of children at a young age, something that is contrary to the deepest logic of human maturation in a calm, balanced way, that is ideology, nothing else. How strong this current is today is shown by yesterday's situation, when an MP was removed from a Polish TV station for saying that this is ideology. He simply called it ideology. We are being asked, ladies and gentlemen, to believe that it is about people, but it is simply ideology - added the president.

Budka to 300POLITYKA: President Duda should apologize for MP Żalek

Borys Budka, present at Rafał Trzaskowski's rally in Opole, was asked about MP Żalek's statement on LGBT and President Andrzej Duda's stance, who spoke of a "new ideology," comparing it to neo-Bolshevism.

- President Duda should apologize for MP Żalek - he responded when asked by 300POLITYKA.

13:39

Trzaskowski:

There's a Chance for a Great Wave of Change That Will Initiate Long-Awaited Transformation in Poland
There's a chance for a great wave of change that will initiate the long-awaited transformation in Poland. This is what we all want and are waiting for – stated Rafał Trzaskowski in Opole.

13:40

Trzaskowski:

We All Share the Same Dreams. We Think Exactly Alike, Especially in Times of Epidemic. We Dream of Security, Healthcare, Equal Educational Opportunities, and We're Tired of Diversionary Tactics

- Over the past few days, I've been traveling across Poland, and I can tell you that today, the dreams of people from the villages I've visited, from Silesia, from Cieszyn Silesia where I was in Wisła, from Świętokrzyskie, from Małopolska, from Podhale, from Opole, or from Warsaw – we all share the same dreams. We all think exactly alike, especially in times of epidemic. We dream of security, healthcare, equal educational opportunities, and we're tired of diversionary tactics - stated Rafał Trzaskowski in Opole.

13:43

Trzaskowski:

We've Had Enough of Having Our Pride in Our Achievements Taken Away
We've had enough, first and foremost, of someone constantly wanting to take away our pride. We can see how our cities, towns, and villages have changed over the last 30 years. We will not let our pride be taken away, because thanks to you, the citizens, Poland has become so much more beautiful, and it must be clearly stated: we've had enough of having our pride in our achievements taken away. - stated Rafał Trzaskowski in Opole.

13:45

Trzaskowski:

Today, Above All, We Need to Fight for Jobs and We Need Investments Here and Now. We Don't Need Gigantism.

- Today, above all, we need to fight for jobs and we need investments here and now. We don't need gigantism. We don't need to talk about the biggest airport in the world, even though nothing is happening there yet. If those in power talk about morality, I ask, is it moral to pay tens of thousands of zlotys today to people who are mainly involved in managing an empty field? Today, it is precisely these investments that we need, here and now - stated Rafał Trzaskowski in Opole.

13:57

Trzaskowski Poses Questions to PAD:

We Must Ask the President Why No PiS Government Scandal Has Been Investigated.

- It so happens, purely by chance, that in a few hours President Duda will be in Opole. This is not the time for booing, for whistling. We simply need to ask the Head of State a few questions. Unfortunately, the President does not answer questions, so I am very pleased that we have the opportunity to ask a few. And therefore, the first question must be about the Constitution and the observance of the law, about ensuring that there are no equals and more equal in Poland, about the Constitution being the supreme good, and we will ask the President about this. We will ask about fundamental matters, but we also need to direct a few other questions to the President. Namely, we all recently hear about new facts concerning the management of the epidemic. We all hear about how masks were bought, and recently new facts have come to light regarding the purchase of ventilators that no one has seen. It turns out that officials are taking documents home, perhaps a new secular tradition, but we must ask the President why no scandal of the PiS government has been investigated. Where was the President when we were all asking these questions? These questions must be asked because we must fight for honesty and transparency in our public life – stated Rafał Trzaskowski in Opole.

- A second, very important question. Why does the President not agree to fair play in these elections? Why does he agree to us being given 5 days to collect signatures, and yet with this mobilization, we collected almost 2 million signatures – he continued.

- Why does President Duda agree to television, which was once called public, constantly inciting hatred, manipulating, and setting people against each other? Does President Duda suddenly like Jacek Kurski again? – the KO candidate further questioned.

- Why even the programmatic proposals, why at the moment when President Duda presents his program, his programmatic proposals, does he have to do it in a way that tries to divide us? Why can't a program even be presented differently? Another thing that probably annoys us the most. People have approached me many times and asked: Mr. Rafał, why do we tolerate the unbelievable hypocrisy of today's authorities? I myself heard President Duda say that he changed the judiciary because the judges, or a large part of them, are communists. We have had enough of these kinds of comparisons, especially since, by some miracle, the President did not mind a state of war prosecutor who received a nomination from the President. We have had enough of hypocrisy – he emphasized.

- The question is why the government did not tell the truth to the miners, saying that it would not close mines, but it closed 8 of them, saying it would not liquidate jobs, but 15,000 jobs were liquidated. Saying that there would be no coal imports, but we have coal imports from such exotic directions as, for example, Colombia. Why is the truth not being told, and why is no chance given for a great transformation? So that we can fight against global warming, for clean air, but preserve jobs. This requires enormous investments from the EU – he said.

Bortniczuk to 300POLITYKA on Trzaskowski: Little Comes from an Extended Hand Towards Accord

- So, he is typically partisan. Unfortunately, despite President Trzaskowski extending a hand supposedly to PiS supporters, sending letters, and speaking in a milder tone, this gentleness was absolutely not visible at the rally, neither in Trzaskowski's speech nor, even more so, in the reactions of his supporters. There was aggression, shouts, and expulsions. Even though we politely stood there, along with MP Kowalski, responding to yesterday's letter, we wanted to talk with Trzaskowski, to ask if he would finally answer the 5 questions that we directed to him and all other opponents of Andrzej Duda on Wednesday. Well, unfortunately, we did not manage to talk with Rafał Trzaskowski. Sławomir Nitras came out, more to oversee the crowd and to temper those negative emotions. One can say that little results from an extended hand towards accord - stated Kamil Bortniczuk in an interview with 300POLITYKĄ.

14:34

Bortniczuk to 300POLITYKA: I told Kolenda-Zaleska she hounded a man. Żalek didn't deny anyone humanity, regardless of orientation, he only spoke of LGBT as an ideology with its own symbols and goals, not as people.
This is extreme manipulation by TVN journalists. I met Katarzyna Kolenda-Zaleska at that rally. She was in Opole today, I spoke with her just now and told her that she did a shameful thing, that she hounded a man. Absolutely, knowing that Jacek Żalek did not deny humanity to anyone, regardless of their orientation, but only spoke about LGBT being an ideology, having its own symbols, goals, that they are not people, as they try to present it, while Kolenda-Zaleska presented this statement as aiming to dehumanize people from the LGBT community. Jacek Żalek absolutely had no such intention. That did not motivate him, and I think it was foolish of the editor when I told her that she is now leading to Jacek Żalek being simply lynched by some internet users - stated Kamil Bortniczuk in an interview with 300POLITYKĄ.

14:44

Trzaskowski:

What Gesture Has PAD Made Towards Us in the Last 5 Years to Rebuild Community?

- What gesture has President Andrzej Duda made towards us in the last 5 years to rebuild community? What gesture has the president made towards us? I ask: what gesture? After all, the President of the Republic of Poland should be a strong president who rises above political divisions? - stated Rafał Trzaskowski in Opole.

- The president [Duda] also invoked the legacy of Lech Kaczyński. Only Lech Kaczyński was a strong president who always considered what he was signing - he continued.

14:48

Trzaskowski 'High-Fives' Duda's Volunteers: Community Starts with Small Things – Extending a Hand
Community starts with small things – extending a hand. Today in Opole, I met Andrzej Duda's volunteers. We can argue, we can disagree, but we should respect each other. Because Poland is common! - wrote the KO candidate on social media.

15:02

PMM:

What We Can Achieve Together with the President Over the Next 5 Years Offers a Great Dose of Hope. Hope That Poland Can Become an Even More Prosperous Country.
I am here also as a Member of Parliament for PiS, but also as an ordinary citizen, because I believe as an ordinary citizen that what is happening in Poland, what we can do together with the President over the next 5 years, offers a great dose of hope. Hope that Poland can become an even more prosperous country, that we can emerge victorious from this coronavirus pandemic, that we can save our economy, just as I heard from entrepreneurs at the market in Łomża. Just as entrepreneurs told me in the town of Ostrów Mazowiecka, the mayor told me how many entrepreneurs were saved – stated Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki in Kolno.

15:06

PM Morawiecki: "These Social Programs Wouldn't Exist Without President Duda's Victory Five Years Ago; Our Opponents Criticized Them for Years."

- Today, Poland is at a crucial turning point in its history. Where would Poland be without President Duda? Where would Poland be if President Duda had not won the election five years ago? Would there be programs like 500+, 300+, the 13th pension, and all other social programs? This is a rhetorical question. These programs would not exist. Our main political rivals have criticized these programs for five years. Only now, to chameleon-like change their colors, shed their previous stances, and start saying they will maintain them. The sole guarantor of maintaining social programs, as well as a vision for development, is President Duda - stated Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki in Kolno.

15:13

Duda:

I Have Great Respect for Everyone. Frankly, I'm Not Interested in Anyone's Sexual Preferences. That's Their Private Matter.

- I saw yesterday's scene that took place on your television, when the editor interrupted and, in effect, asked one of the United Right MPs to leave. Let me say this: I respect every person, regardless of their sexual preferences, regardless of their views, regardless of which group they support. I have many different friends, including those with different sexual preferences, I know such people. Some of these people are also known to you, Madam Editor. Let me put it this way. Among these people are those with different views, among these people are those who support the LGBT movement and ideology, who agree with it, who agree with the way of action that is proposed there, which is being implemented there, and there are people who believe that the fact they have certain sexual preferences is entirely their business. Just as I believe it is my business what my sexual preferences are. I have immense respect for all people. It doesn't bother me. Frankly, I'm not interested in anyone's sexual preferences. That is their private matter. But I am interested in ensuring that children in school are not subjected to, for example, sexual indoctrination at a very young age, when they are literally a few years old, when they are in the first grades of school. I believe that this is not the right path and that it is contrary to our tradition and our culture. I simply disagree with this, just as many parents disagree with it – said President Andrzej Duda during a press conference in front of the military hospital in Opole, responding to a question from Katarzyna Kolenda-Zaleska about MP Żalek's statement.

- I would not want any ideology to be present in schools. School is for learning, it is for education. I would want Polish schools to educate future highly prepared specialists to perform various professions – added the President.

15:41

President Duda: I Don't Want a Return to Ideology in School Textbooks, Especially One That Morally Corrupts and Sexualizes Young Children
- I do not want a return to a time when any ideology leers from our school textbooks. Especially one that morally corrupts children, that sexualizes young children. I do not agree to that. I do not agree to my grandchildren being raised that way. I do not agree to that. I hope I will have them and that they will be able to attend a normal school – said President Andrzej Duda in Opole.

15:49

Duda:

My Greatest Ambition Now Is for You to Prosper in Business and Grow Rich

- My greatest ambition now is for you to be able to develop your businesses peacefully, for you to grow rich, in short, for wages to improve in our country. That is what interests me above all. This serves to retain the best specialists here; it serves the purpose that, as we were just discussing with young doctors at the military hospital, they won't leave if we truly pay them adequately in Poland. To all doctors, nurses, teachers, so that every profession is justly compensated in Poland. This is my great ambition for the coming years. Today, I have the feeling that families are already materially secured. There is this cushion in the form of 500 plus. Those who have children have this security. I ask that there be more children, of course, but ladies and gentlemen, now is the time for salaries – said President Andrzej Duda in Opole.

16:31

Tusk:

The President of the Republic Should Care About Its Reputation. Andrzej Duda is Doing Everything to Ruin It. His Campaign is a Global Shame

The President of the Republic of Poland should care about its reputation. Andrzej Duda is doing everything to ruin it. His campaign is a global shame.

The author of these words is Donald Tusk, former Prime Minister and President of the European Council. He reacted to the content of Andrzej Duda’s campaign video, which appeared on the internet on Saturday.

The video, published on the occasion of President Andrzej Duda’s election campaign, contained, among other things, a fragment with a caricature of Donald Tusk. He was shown as being attacked by a swarm of bees.

The President of the Republic should care about its reputation. Andrzej Duda is doing everything to ruin it. His campaign is a global shame.

16:54

Duda Responds to Tusk: Your Own Circle Urged You to Face Me Twice. You Preferred to Hide Behind MKB, Then RT. You Know What That's Called on the Playground? Chicken.

17:34

Duda on Tusk: It's shameful to say the retirement age won't be raised just to win an election. This is shame and stench that follows such a politician their entire life. The biggest political liar in the history of the Third Polish Republic.

- There is nothing worse than a brazen lie told to the camera in politics before an election. And that's what Donald Tusk did in 2011. Please recall. Today, just a moment ago, he writes that what I say about protecting the family and that I won't allow our children to be indoctrinated with ideology in primary school, with sexualization, is a shame before Europe and the world. And I will say this: Shame is lying straight to people's eyes, saying the retirement age won't be raised just to win an election, and then after the election, immediately raising it for people. That is shame. That is shame and stench that follows such a politician their entire life. That is shame. That is shame, deception, and lies that should eliminate such a person from politics forever. Forever. Perhaps that is why he did not dare to run in the presidential elections and hid behind others' backs. First, behind Mrs. Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska, Madam Marshal, and now behind Mr. Rafał Trzaskowski, and today he is poking out from behind their backs. Simply embarrassing. A liar. Probably the biggest political liar in the history of the Third Polish Republic - said President Andrzej Duda in Głogówek.

18:48

Hołownia:

In Two Weeks, You Could Have a President Who Tells You What You Want to Hear, Then Returns to Political Salons, to His Own. Or You Choose Someone Who Will Spend the Presidency, Not Just the Campaign, with the People. You Are the Republic, You Are

- Poland is truly not a train station where there are only two trains. Both heading into the past. The candidates are supposedly young, supposedly new, but it's not about them here. They can't be bought without a party package. By choosing them - you are choosing parties with their barren dispute. Listen, this train station is only in our heads! The Poland I see from the windows of my mobile Belvedere not only doesn't want to, but doesn't even have to choose between: 500 plus, or democracy. A path to the future, or holding PiS politicians accountable. Politicians, not voters. In two weeks, you could have a president who tells you what you want to hear, then returns to the political salons, to his own. Or you choose someone who will spend the presidency, not just the campaign, with the people. You will choose the President of the people. A President who, over these five years, will show everyone what everyone has probably already forgotten: the Republic is not a company. It's not a party. It's not a battlefield. The Republic is every one of its citizens. You are the Republic, you are Poland! - said Szymon Hołownia, appearing on stage with his wife during a rally in Gdynia.

18:52

Hołownia:

We've Written a Program No Party Has Managed in 30 Years. It's Good. I See Them Copying Us, It's Pleasant.

- Six months ago, not far from here, in Gdańsk, I said: OK, enough commenting, let's go change Poland. They told me then: You'll never gather people. They said: You'll travel around the country and no one will even come out to greet you.  We have 13,000 people. We are greeted by crowds everywhere.  They said: No one will give you money for politics. Hundreds of thousands of Poles did. Already over 6 million zlotys.  They said: You won't build a program. Together with a team of experts, we have written a program that no party has been able to write for 30 years. It's a good program. After all, I see how they're copying it from us now, it's pleasant.  Listen, we've already won these elections!  Over these few months, we have proven that Poles know how to unite, to be real friends - not just when you show them an enemy! In two weeks, you will choose. In two weeks, we will choose - said Szymon Hołownia in Gdynia.

19:50

Duda:

I Never Spoke About a Partnership Act. I Spoke About: The Status of a Next of Kin, Which Has Nothing to Do with Any Erotic or Sexual Matters. It's a Completely Separate Issue.

- You are confusing concepts. I never spoke about a partnership act. These are two different matters. A partnership is a partnership. It's a regulation that some describe as quasi-marital. However, I spoke about: the status of a next of kin, which has nothing to do with any erotic or sexual matters. It's a completely separate issue. Mutual support and care, and the issue of the status of a next of kin – and indeed, if such a law were to land on my desk, if someone proposed such a solution, I have said this before, and certainly, with all certainty, I would very carefully consider its provisions, because it serves not only two people who simply live together, but it can also serve two people who support each other. Two elderly people can support each other, or someone very young can support an elderly, lonely person, and then the status of a next of kin could make it easier for them to handle various life matters for that person – stated President Andrzej Duda in a conversation with Piotr Witwicki on Polsat News's “Gość Wydarzeń”.

19:55

Duda:

Today's Opposition Signs LGBT Declarations in Poland, but Has Not Proposed Next-of-Kin Status

- I said that if anyone proposes it, I am ready to consider it. No one has proposed it. Today's opposition signs LGBT declarations in Poland, signs LGBT cards, but has not proposed next-of-kin status - stated President Andrzej Duda in 'Gość Wydarzeń' on Polsat News.

19:58

President Duda: I hope judicial reform will continue

- I hope it will be continued [judicial reform], because it is a reform that is certainly heading in the right direction. I would very much like for the common feeling of justice in the courts to return to Poland, for people in my country, not judges, but people in my country, to believe that the courts are just. For my compatriots to believe that the courts are just. Just look at people's reactions at meetings when I talk about the judiciary - stated President Andrzej Duda in "Gość Wydarzeń" on Polsat News.

20:01

Duda:

I Don't Want Revolutionary Changes. I Want Evolutionary Changes.

- I don't want changes of a revolutionary nature. I want changes of an evolutionary nature. People have the right to live in peace. PiS MPs have attempted various revolutions a few times, which is why I vetoed the bill on the National Judicial Institute, the veto of the bill on the Supreme Court, because I believe the Prosecutor General cannot decide matters of the Supreme Court, as he can be a party before the Supreme Court, and that it cannot be allowed for all administrative employees to be dismissed without any protection in the Supreme Court, against which "Solidarity" protested. This is why, among other things, I opposed, at the request of Paweł Kukiz, the electoral law for the European Parliament, because they wanted to raise the effective electoral threshold to over 12%, and I said no. This is precisely because I am a proponent of evolutionary actions, not revolutionary ones – stated President Andrzej Duda in "Gość Wydarzeń" on Polsat News.

20:36

Hołownia:

President Duda is like a drowning man grasping at straws
"President Duda is like a drowning man grasping at straws, and while we are looking for allies and friends, he is looking for an enemy, in accordance with Carl Schmitt's principle – ‘show me your enemy and I will tell you who you are’ – to build his narrative around the story of an imaginary adversary. After all, he knows very well that it wasn't LGBT and LGBT ideology that threatened Polish families today, but rather a lack of preschools, nurseries, public transport connections, a sensible return to work for mothers, and the current structure of the alimony fund – these are the things that endanger the Polish family," said Szymon Hołownia in Faktach po Faktach.

Reading Brudziński's Ornithological-Theological-Homophobic Tweets Makes Me Wonder if They Realize Their Words Could Lead Someone to Suicide in the Real World
- When I read these ornithological-theological-homophobic tweets by Joachim Brudziński, when I listen to the homophobic nonsense that Andrzej Duda spouts, I wonder if they know that their words, which they are throwing around today and which in their opinion will cement some kind of community, will probably lead to the suicide of someone in the real world. I know how excluded these people feel from our community - said Szymon Hołownia in 'Fakty po Faktach'.

If I Win the Election, I Will Invite People from 'LGBT-Free Zones' to the Palace and Assure Them They Can Feel Like Full Citizens of the Republic and This is Their Home
- If I win the election, I will invite people from LGBT-free zones to the Palace and assure them that they can feel like full citizens of the Republic and that this is their home - Szymon Hołownia said in Fakty po Faktach.

I Can't Imagine Polish Armed Forces Soldiers Having to Participate in My Religious Rites, as They May Hold Different Beliefs. If There's Any Religious Element in My Presidency, It Will Be Multifaith Prayer
- It would never occur to me to bring a photographer or cameraman to my religious practices. I will not be speaking from Jasna Góra. I can't imagine Polish Armed Forces soldiers having to participate in the rites of my faith, because they may hold different beliefs. If there is any religious element in my presidency, it will be multifaith prayer, involving the various religions inhabiting the Republic. A President who is privately a Christian should demonstrate this by being a good citizen - said Szymon Hołownia in FpF.
