At 11:00 AM, the Sejm's health committee will consider and provide an opinion on the Civic Coalition's (KO) motion for a vote of no confidence against the Minister of Health, Łukasz Szumowski. It is currently unknown when the Sejm will address the motion from the largest opposition party.

At 3:00 PM, the Sejm will resume its session. The only planned item is a 2.5-hour voting block, during which Senate amendments to the act on special rules for organizing general presidential elections called in 2020, with the possibility of postal voting, will be considered. After the aforementioned act is published in the Journal of Laws, the Marshal of the Sejm will be able to call the presidential elections.

President Andrzej Duda will visit the Mazovian Voivodeship. At 12:30 PM, PAD will participate in the announcement of the "My Water" program inauguration. Further statements from the president are planned for 2:10 PM in Tyszki Nadbory and 3:00 PM in Troszyn.

At 10:30 AM in Namysłów, Szymon Hołownia will have a "coffee with local government officials" meeting with representatives of the "Friendly Local Government" association, at 11:00 AM - an open meeting with residents, and at 12:00 PM - a press briefing. At 3:00 PM, there will be a meeting with residents of Dzierżoniów, and at 4:30 PM - with residents of Świdnica.

As we wrote on 300POLITYKA, a significant event is likely to take place today, during which Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki, along with the Minister of Health and doctors, will present how the healthcare system is coping with the pandemic and what actions are being taken to prepare for a potential next wave of coronavirus spread. The head of government also has video conferences planned for today with the Visegrad Group and the President of the European Council.

- It would be a political scandal [if PiS tried to prevent the collection of 100,000 signatures by shortening deadlines]. I will not hesitate to use such strong words here. Because it is difficult to imagine that this time for collecting signatures for the Civic Coalition candidate will be so short that it will prevent us from collecting 100,000 signatures. I have spoken about the fact that these 10-14 days are a norm that should affirm the political custom of leaving this time for the election committee to collect signatures. I know and I feel that PiS is trying to limit Rafał Trzaskowski's campaign here and hit the Civic Coalition's election committee, but we are very mobilized. I feel this both in the PO structures and among many volunteers, people who have been outside politics until now, are ready to support us here. So logistics will be key here - stated Grzegorz Schetyna in "Rozmowa Piaseckiego" on TVN24.

- I spoke about this a few weeks ago, that it must be 10-14 days, that this would be a safe amount of time. But I don't want to prejudge, I don't want to make it easier for PiS to make decisions here. We will talk about this at the Sejm session. The Senate's indication of 10 days, I think, is a logical step forward, showing that the calendar can be maintained - he continued.

– It was my decision [to unilaterally withdraw from running]. I said that I was taking responsibility for my poll numbers, but I do not regret that decision, because if I had to say exactly the same thing now and go to a conference, knowing that time, I would also tell Poles: Elections are not held during a pandemic on May 10, and additionally, unconstitutional elections, meaning those not conducted by the National Electoral Commission (PKW), are not held. And I would keep saying it, and I am glad these elections are not happening. I am glad there is a chance for elections that are in line with the law and safe for Poles, because we see that the number of infections is decreasing. As politicians, we must sometimes speak the truth against our own interests and tell people what is safe for them and what is not – said Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska in an interview with Piotr Witwicki on Polsat News' "Graffiti".

- I want to state very clearly that today, Rafał Trzaskowski's election campaign is the most important thing. He holds the steering wheel today, and he will lead, I believe, not only the Civic Coalition, Civic Platform, but the entire opposition to victory in these elections. I would have to be a very immature politician, reckless, to transfer and incorporate internal matters, conflicts, or relationships into Rafał Trzaskowski's campaign. I care deeply about his victory, about his campaign, about a good campaign, about him being able to showcase his program, himself, in the best possible light and win these elections. There is a great chance for this. If we were to show differences of opinion within Civic Platform today, how would we be able to build an agreement in the second round between Civic Coalition voters and other candidates of the democratic opposition? - stated Grzegorz Schetyna in "Rozmowa Piaseckiego" on TVN24.

- If someone doesn't do this, if someone during the campaign occupies themselves with something else [than the campaign], they will effectively cause harm, and in the end, they will harm Rafał Trzaskowski. One cannot get bogged down in Polish politics today by transferring historical legacies, conflicts, and problems that history teaches us about to present times. One must draw conclusions from this. Today, one truly needs to be mature, prudent, and know what is most important. Today, Rafał Trzaskowski's election campaign is the most important, his enormous chance for political victory in the presidential elections - he continued.

- Schetyna is not the father of my candidacy. I participated in the primaries. Of course, everyone has a father and a mother, but the fact that I became the Civic Coalition's candidate is because I earned the trust of my colleagues - Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska stated on Polsat News.

- Poland and Poles will not forgive us if we do not seize the opportunity for Rafał Trzaskowski to win and commit 100% to this campaign. There is really little time. If anyone today, either in PO or in other opposition groupings, looks for differences, conflicts, divisions, we will lose. And let's take political responsibility - stated Grzegorz Schetyna in "Rozmowa Piaseckiego" on TVN24.

- I will not be running for mayor of Warsaw. I am a Member of Parliament for the entire term. For me, my goal is truly, and this might sound lofty, for things to finally be normal in Poland, for the law to mean law, for people to feel safe - said Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska in Polsat News.

- We still need 24% to reach 51% minimum. This is our goal. I think this is what distinguishes Rafał Trzaskowski from the other candidates who, as Marshal Czarzasty says, have been around longer than Rafał Trzaskowski, but one can get the impression, before Rafał Trzaskowski entered the game, that every other player was actually running for second place - said Sławomir Nitras in an interview with Tomasz Sekielski on "Onet Rano".

- These are things that are not spoken about publicly, but it was an operation prepared from the very beginning to the very end together with Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska, I can assure you of that - said Sławomir Nitras in "Onet Rano".

„If an electoral committee is registered, I hope there will be at least 10 days to collect signatures, and the signature collection campaign will begin. I repeat exactly the same. Perhaps there are some spontaneous actions, but I am stating clearly that signatures can only be collected from the moment the committee is registered. At the moment, one can only prepare for collecting signatures” – said the KO presidential candidate and Mayor of Warsaw, Rafał Trzaskowski, in an interview with Beata Lubecka on Radio Zet.

- I must say that I am glad the opposition has finally acknowledged that elections should take place. This should be something completely natural in a democracy. Suddenly, in recent weeks, it has stirred great political emotions in Poland. The opposition, realizing they have slim chances in these elections, decided to simply block the elections. This is the reality. To block these elections and change the candidate. That was the real reason why these elections could not take place in May - stated Jacek Sasin in "Sygnały dnia" PR1.

Rafał Trzaskowski will address the residents of Gdańsk on June 4th, at the invitation of the Mayor of Gdańsk, Aleksandra Dulkiewicz. Campaign strategists want to maintain the political momentum and increase polling pressure on rivals – we hear.

A year ago, there was even talk of establishing a "June 4th Movement" initiated by Donald Tusk. This date remains symbolic for a part of the opposition, and certainly this year Trzaskowski will heavily utilize it as an opportunity to refer to the changes of 1989, on the 31st anniversary of the first free Senate elections and his message of a "new Solidarity."

“Regarding the election calendar, we always said that the 10-day period was a prohibitive deadline, as it was also intended to, in a way, complicate the election calendar. We had to have a certain guarantee that such a 10-day deadline would be implemented in the election calendar, but I want to reassure all those who have the obligation to collect signatures, and especially Rafał Trzaskowski at this moment, that our political camp certainly has no intention of torpedoing this signature collection” – said Deputy Marshal of the Senate Marek Pęk from PiS at a press conference. 

- It's easy to forget the horror of those days, the difficult sleep, like a nightmare, but it's worth looking at media reports, at the facts of what the statistics looked like. We managed to avoid the Lombard, Spanish, French model. Thanks to hard work, thanks to Poles being disciplined and truly sticking to the national quarantine. Thanks to medics working hard in these single-disease hospitals, where it's known that transforming hospitals is difficult, for them as well, for everyone. But we succeeded. I think today we can say that thanks to the effort of all Poles, we truly have one of the best epidemic situations in Poland in Europe and the world. Because the epidemic situation is not just about how many new infections there are daily, it's mainly about how many people have died from a given epidemic - said Łukasz Szumowski during a press conference before the Central Clinical Hospital of the Ministry of Interior and Administration. 

- Today it is worth asking those who, along with the media serving them, do not even have the courage to recall what the situation was like then, do not have the courage to emphasize how Poland, a country that is a developing nation, coped with these most difficult decisions in decades and with this situation that could have led to an apocalyptic vision. You may remember those military trucks carrying the deceased in Italy, or mass graves in effect, because they couldn't keep up with burying the dead, people disconnected from ventilators. People not admitted to hospitals. People over 70 years old, who were no longer treated. All this in Western European countries, in the USA. I'm not talking about the poorer countries. That is why today, in analyses by various institutes, Poland is at the forefront as the country that saved people, saved every person, saved them from dying alone. Have the courage to recall what it was really like then. You don't have this courage, but I want to thank Minister Szumowski, Minister Kamiński for those difficult, brave decisions, which saved Poland from the cataclysm we saw in Western Europe. They saved us and caused us to be able to fight for this normalcy today. That we are going in a better direction today. We can go a better way, a safer way, safer for health, for saving jobs, and I thank all our countrymen, all Poles, for such a wonderful attitude, for the fact that we were and are together - stated Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki at a press conference.

– And you know what, ladies and gentlemen? Don't listen to these buzzing flies spreading tales. They resort to lies, falsehoods, hypocrisy, and deceit. We know, because human memory isn't that short, what it was like in March and April. What dangers we avoided, and the entire nation passed this test because we were together, and let's remain together – stated Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki at a press conference. 

„We are in a very difficult time, where polls are going haywire. The political reality is changing so quickly that research tools cannot keep up. Just a week ago, we had polls where Krzysztof Bosak's support ranged from 3% to 13% in the same weekend. We are in great turmoil, in great flux. The most important thing is that we see the trends. The trends are clear. Andrzej Duda is weakening. Significantly weakening. He is weakening faster than Bronisław Komorowski in 2015” - said presidential candidate Szymon Hołownia in Nadarzyn. 

- Today, just as from the very beginning of the epidemic, you hear the truth and transparent data from us regarding how this fight has looked, but as I see it, you, unfortunately, Madam Marshal [Kidawa-Błońska, that the most important thing is the truth and not inciting exceptional situations] are unable to meet this and refrain from inciting exceptional situations and various other strange things - stated Łukasz Szumowski at the session of the Sejm's Health Committee regarding the Civic Coalition's motion to dismiss the Minister of Health.

- What do we read in the justification for the motion [of no confidence]? The sources are real ones, the ones you use: Oko.press, Gazeta Wyborcza, TVN24, and Newsweek. I congratulate you on your sources. I understand the motion was poorly drafted because there was no renowned lawyer to assist - stated Łukasz Szumowski at a meeting of the Sejm's Health Committee regarding the KO's motion to dismiss the Minister of Health.

- You write in your motion [for a vote of no confidence] that we did not utilize the EU's joint procurement. Firstly, it was Civic Platform that considered not joining the EU's vaccine purchases its greatest success in the fight against swine flu. Secondly, you have all seen what kind of masks the European Commission sent to member states. Of the 1.5 million masks from an ordered batch of 10 million, the Commission ordered them to be destroyed. Because after tests conducted in Poland and after my letter to the Commissioner, it turned out they were simply unfit for use - stated Łukasz Szumowski at a meeting of the parliamentary health committee concerning KO's motion to dismiss the Minister of Health.

- Furthermore, if you are looking to the West, you probably know that so far, no country in the EU has officially informed that it has utilized this mechanism. What's more, the contractors who offered goods in the joint tender increased prices after the tender concluded, and member states bought smaller quantities for the same money, with delivery times likely being several weeks. So everyone is still waiting. Fortunately, the epidemic is already decreasing in many countries, but we will probably be waiting a long time for these deliveries - he continued.

- You allege in your motion that I endangered the lives and health of Poles by proposing postal voting. I remember the slogans like "envelopes of death" and so on. I would like to ask how you will vote in today's vote, when we consider mixed voting, which includes a postal option, secured for all Poles, but also a traditional voting method. I will just remind you that almost unanimously your colleagues from the Senate supported this project. Is it safe now, but was postal voting dangerous then? It is puzzling - he pointed out.
