Saturday's Political Landscape: PAD and PMM Join Forces on Jobs and Investments, Trzaskowski's Political Creed of New Politics, Hołownia's Contradiction to PAD on Courage, and Speeches by Biedroń, Kosiniak-Kamysz, and Bosak

President Andrzej Duda and Prime Minister Morawiecki will be visiting the Pomeranian Voivodeship. At 10:00 AM, a visit to the construction site of the Vistula Spit navigation channel is planned, followed by a press statement at 10:20 AM. As we wrote on 300POLITYCE, the dispute over large public investments creating jobs is set to become one of the campaign's central themes, and the joint initiative by the president and prime minister on the Spit is part of this. Later, at 12:00 PM, Prime Minister Morawiecki will visit the Meble Wójcik company in Elbląg.

Rafał Trzaskowski will be in the Greater Poland Voivodeship. At 9:00 AM in Poznań, a press briefing with the Mayor of Poznań, Jacek Jaśkowiak, will take place. At 10:00 AM, a visit to a furniture factory in Swarzędz is scheduled. At 11:45 AM, flowers will be laid before the Monument to the Victims of June 1956 in Poznań, and at 4:00 PM, he will deliver a speech at Freedom Square in Poznań. As we reported on 300POLITYCE, Trzaskowski's speech will revolve around the message "New Politics, New Solidarity," and it is expected to be his most significant campaign address to date.

At 11:00 AM, a meeting with Robert Biedroń will be held at the Old Market Square in Pabianice. Our sources indicate that this will be a political rally with a limited number of participants. During the rally, the Left candidate will also present the programmatic assumptions of the upcoming campaign. At 11:30 AM in Przybysławice near Sandomierz, Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz will present his "Plan for Poland for the coming years." At 1:45 PM in Skotniki, the PSL leader will meet with fruit growers, and at 3:00 PM in Sandomierz, he will meet with local entrepreneurs. Meanwhile, at 10:15 AM in Gdynia, Krzysztof Bosak will hold a press conference. The topic of the conference is expected to be access to firearms.

"Hołownia's speech will contain a prescription for a bold and modern presidency. In Andrzej Duda's city, he will also present the biggest promises he has broken as President of Poland," one of Szymon Hołownia's campaign staff told 300POLITYCE, announcing a speech the presidential candidate will deliver at 1:00 PM in Kraków, in front of Collegium Novum. Our informant emphasizes that this will be Hołownia's first major campaign event after May 10th and the economic reopening.

Budka Warns Against Election Manipulation: 'Hands Off These Elections, Mr. Kaczynski. Poles Will Choose Their President Themselves.'

- We are receiving further disturbing signals that there may once again be an attempt at a crude, and I will say this brutally, an attempt to steal these elections. An attempt to change the electoral verdict through manipulation and by closing down large cities. Therefore, I want to clearly and unequivocally communicate from this place. There will be no consent to any manipulation by officials from the Ministry of Health, there will be no consent to any manipulation by PiS politicians. Unfair and dangerous elections are a thing of the past. Together with local government officials and parliamentarians, we managed to ensure that Kaczynski did not steal these elections from Poles in May, and he will not steal them in June or July. However, it is important that we speak with one voice, monitor the electoral process, and be those who show Poles that this should be a fair and safe electoral contest. That is why I warn against any attempts at manipulation, against attempts to close down large cities, against attempts to forcibly introduce postal voting where it is neither necessary nor possible. I want to emphasize once again: presidential elections must be fair, universal, equal, direct, and secret, because that is what the Polish Constitution requires. And from this place, I want to appeal and demand: Mr. Kaczynski, hands off these elections. Poles will choose their president themselves. You will not do it at Nowogrodzka Street through any tricks or manipulations in the electoral process – stated Borys Budka at a briefing in Poznań.

"Work, Not Squabbles" - PiS's Latest Message: "Cooperation in crisis situations is paramount, when every day counts to save jobs, so the state can function efficiently. What does the opposition offer Poles?"
In the latest spot, which 300POLITYKA was the first to see, PiS contrasts the image of efficiently implemented social programs, such as: 500+, the infant wyprawka, or the 13th pension, and the swift installation of the anti-crisis shield with the chaotic behaviour of the opposition presented in the clip: boycotts, Tusk's statements about "ciiamajdy" (incompetents), WKK's wife about a tiger, Trzaskowski about TVP, or a crying Hołownia. For several days now, right-wing politicians have been referencing a Pollster survey in their public communication, published by Super Express, in which 63% of respondents stated that the government and the president should speak with one voice on important matters. "There are many moments when good cooperation between the most important institutions in Poland is crucial. In 2016, when money from the 500+ program was to be quickly distributed to Poles, it was accomplished in a month and a half. Similarly, the PiS government quickly introduced the 300+ infant wyprawka. Three years later, the PiS government extended the benefit to the first child as well – from the adoption of the amendment to the payout, only 2 months passed. The same applies to the 13th pension. The law introducing the permanent 13th pension was also implemented just as quickly," the narrator quickly lists the consecutively introduced social programs, with shots of President Andrzej Duda with the premiers of the right-wing majority appearing in the background. The anti-crisis shield is added to the social programs as an example of cooperation between the parliamentary majority and the president: "Cooperation in crisis situations is paramount, when every day counts to save jobs, so the state can function efficiently. The anti-crisis shield, protecting Poles from the effects of the pandemic, was signed on the same day it was passed." What does the opposition offer Poles? - asks the narrator, while the clip shows snippets of opposition politicians' statements from the Sejm and fragments of speeches by a smiling Rafał Trzaskowski: "hurry up and ask questions because there are only a few weeks left" and a crying Szymon Hołownia.

Trzaskowski:

We Are Ready for Any Election Date. Our Priority is a Fully Democratic Election Process. I Hope the Government Won't Repeat May's Electoral Farce

- I spoke with Jacek Jaśkowiak, and also with Chairman Budka, and the most important thing is that we are absolutely ready for any election date. Our primary concern is that the process leading up to the elections is fully democratic. I hope the government will not repeat the electoral farce from May, but will prepare truly democratic elections, where there will be time to register committees, collect signatures, and conduct a short election campaign. Most importantly, I hope the government will not resort to any tricks to manipulate these elections, because Poles will never forget such actions from this government. Today, we can see tremendous energy, including here on the streets of Poznań. People want to go to the polls, and it is the responsibility of the government and the Senate to prepare these elections democratically - stated Rafał Trzaskowski at a briefing in Poznań.

10:03

Trzaskowski:

Our appeal to the government to prepare fully democratic elections in the name of state authority, severely undermined in May, and to consult the entire process with local governments

- As local government officials, we pointed out one thing to the government. We need time to prepare these elections, and consultations are paramount. That is why Jacek Jaśkowiak spoke about specific dates, asking the government if it wasn't too early, if they would certainly be ready, if they would certainly take consultations seriously. And this is also our appeal to the government, to prepare fully democratic elections in the name of state authority, which was severely undermined in May, and to consult the entire process with local governments, so that we can do this hand in hand, because here we need to rise above political divisions and simply prepare democratic elections. We, and I personally, are ready for any deadline - stated Rafał Trzaskowski at a briefing in Poznań.

Bielan on the Right's New Message: On One Hand, Harmonious Cooperation; On the Other, a Coalition of Chaos
- Work, not quarrels - this maxim guided the joint government of the President and the united right, and we managed to fulfill key promises. We very quickly lowered the retirement age. Thanks to this harmonious cooperation, we were able to quickly pass important laws during the health crisis caused by the epidemic. On one hand, harmonious cooperation; on the other, a coalition of chaos - Adam Bielan stated at a morning press conference on Nowogrodzka Street. - We are seeing the consequences of this political brawl today in the Senate, which has been turned into a chamber of obstruction, blocking agreements on electoral law - Bielan added. - Soon, Poles will decide what model of cooperation they expect. Will it be cooperation or brawls - Bielan summarized the message. - Poles are tired of this pathetic spectacle by the opposition, we call on the opposition to cease its obstruction - said Anita Czerwińska.

President Duda at the Vistula Spit Canal Construction Site: An Investment Strengthening Polish Sovereignty, Independence, and Freedom
This is an investment that Jarosław Kaczyński announced as Prime Minister in 2007. Back then, he spoke of Elbląg becoming the fourth port of the Republic of Poland, and this shipping canal through the Vistula Spit would enable it. Later, when governments changed, this investment was abandoned. For 8 years, the ruling coalition of Civic Platform and the Polish People's Party did not mention it at all, did not implement it, and took no action in this regard. When the United Right won the elections in 2015, and I became President, we returned to the active realization of this great undertaking, hence the special law signed in this matter and this major investment that you see being realized. This is an investment that strengthens Polish sovereignty, Polish independence, and strengthens Polish freedom, because we will not have to ask Russians for the possibility of communicating on the Vistula Lagoon via the Pilawa Strait, but we will have our own passage, which we will control ourselves, deciding who and at what moment can pass through it. This will thus facilitate navigation on the Vistula Lagoon for tourists and commercial shipping. We will economically revitalize Frombork, and from this side, Elbląg economically, which also has a significant impact on this region, on the Zamek plants, whose turbines, I hope, will flow through here to their recipients. I hope that boats from Polish yacht factories, from Polish yacht shipyards located in the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship, will also sail from here to destinations all over the world - stated President Andrzej Duda at the construction site of the shipping canal on the Vistula Spit.

11:42

Duda:

I Deeply Believe Polish Economy Will Recover Quickly Thanks to Anti-Crisis Shield Measures, Protecting Jobs and Families

- I am aware that we are still struggling with the coronavirus epidemic. I am aware of this, as the Prime Minister and the ministers are fully conscious of it. After all, we are creating the anti-crisis shield precisely to counteract this epidemic. We realize that the epidemic has brought great threats to the economy, because the economy was frozen. But slowly, consistently, and calmly, we are unfreezing this economy. I deeply believe that thanks to the remedial measures we have taken within the framework of the anti-crisis shield, which the PFR (Polish Development Fund) is disbursing to entrepreneurs, thanks to entrepreneurs being and having been exempted from contributions to ZUS (Social Insurance Institution) and KRUS (Agricultural Social Insurance Fund), thanks to this, the Polish economy will recover quickly, and above all, thanks to this, jobs will not be eliminated, people will not become unemployed, and the Polish family will not suffer. In any case, that this will happen to the smallest extent possible - stated President Andrzej Duda at the construction site of the shipping canal on the Vistula Spit.

11:42

President Duda: "We are ambitious as a nation and as the authorities. We want to continue with great investments. We don't want to interrupt, limit, reduce, or abandon them, because these great investments are the driving force of the economy."

- We are ambitious as a nation and also as the authorities, who have been placed at the head of the Republic of Poland by the citizens, and we want to continue to implement major investments. We do not want to interrupt them, limit them, reduce them, and God forbid, we do not want to give them up, because it is precisely these major investments that are the driving force of the economy. We have no doubt about that. History also shows this; this is how the world emerged from the great crisis, it overcame the crisis that followed World War II, it was precisely through major investments, realized, among others, from the Marshall Plan, that Western Europe rebuilt itself and achieved great, great prosperity, also thanks to the social market economy. That is why we want to continue our major investments. This investment, the shipping canal, the Central Communication Port (CPK), these investments create jobs. Now, when they are being implemented - stated President Andrzej Duda on the construction site of the shipping canal on the Vistula Spit.

11:47

PAD:

Yes, We Want to Compete with the Best. Yes, We Want to Compete with Western Europe. We Also Want to Become Part of Western Europe in Terms of Economy and Prosperity.

- Yes, we want to compete with the best. Yes, we want to compete with Western Europe. Yes, we have such an ambition because we also want to become part of Western Europe not only culturally, in terms of identity, but also economically, in terms of prosperity - stated President Andrzej Duda at the construction site of the shipping canal on the Vistula Spit.

- We want Western European earnings to be in Poland as well, and we are heading towards that. That's precisely why we need mechanisms that strengthen our economy, that build this economy. Large investments build an economy, and do not believe, ladies and gentlemen, that if investments are limited here and a billion zlotys is moved elsewhere, it will be a golden remedy that saves everyone - PAD continued.

12:02

Duda:

"We Will Ensure Freedom Through Economic Growth and Unwavering Investment"

- I am astonished that politicians who have always declared themselves liberal are not listening today to the voice of entrepreneurs who are telling us: we don't want any handouts. Lend us money, and we will return it. We are geared for expansion, we want to compete, we are people who build the economy because we have the strength and we feel that strength within us. I thank Polish entrepreneurs for these words. They show the immense potential we have. This potential simply needs to be utilized. Potential is utilized precisely through investment. Politicians who today aspire to achieve power in Poland talk a great deal about freedom. There are such people, you hear them. But, forgive me, through what is this freedom supposed to be achieved? Through limiting investment? Is this freedom supposed to result from low wages? From the fact that there will be no jobs in Poland? That consequently, there will be no development and freedom of choice in Poland, no real choice of where to live? So, what do they think this freedom consists of? The fact that they can say whatever they want. That, too, is indeed freedom, but not only that. Freedom also means that I can freely choose where I live, because the country is developed evenly. President Lech Kaczyński always said this, he emphasized that precisely this constitutional freedom of choice of place of residence in our country means that the country is developed, that there is communication everywhere, that there is broadband internet everywhere, that we have railways and roads everywhere, that we have a reasonably decent school everywhere, that we have access to cultural goods, that we have what is so necessary for normal functioning, for life. Not only in a big city, but in every center. Also in small urban centers, and also in the countryside. That this access exists. This is precisely what we want to ensure. Through what will this happen? Through investments. It is investments that will be the driver for developing communication, and that is precisely what we are aiming for. For us, this is the mechanism for the development of the Republic of Poland, and when all this happens, there will also be jobs, and also decent wages, and then there will be true freedom and the real possibility of choosing which school I want to send my child to, what education I want to provide for my child, whether we will set up a home workshop together, or start a company together, or whether they will pursue education in a completely different direction, because I am a parent who can afford for their child to finish university, for their child to be able to choose a school freely. This is precisely freedom, and we will ensure freedom through the fact that the economy is developing, and today we are doing everything, and we will continue to do everything, to ensure that the Polish economy develops. The driver for this will be precisely investments, which we will not give up" - stated President Andrzej Duda at the construction site of the navigable canal on the Vistula Spit.

12:18

PM on the Site of the Vistula Spit Shipping Canal Construction: "We Are Building a New Maritime Route Here, but Also a Symbol of Overcoming the Inertia That Prevented So Many Things from Being Realized in Poland"

- Here we are building a new route, but this new maritime route is also a symbol of overcoming the inertia that prevented so many things from being realized in Poland, that so many things failed. It is also a test of the efficiency of state authorities' actions, cooperation between state authorities for the good of the region, but not only. I want to emphasize that this is, of course, a great opportunity for the development of Elbląg, Warmia, the entire voivodeship, but it is also an opportunity for the development of all of Poland, because thanks to the strengthening of transshipment capacities, thanks to the port capacities that will appear here, all of Poland will benefit. Trade, international trade, and consequently economic growth, because this is how economic growth is driven, through exports, through imports, through production that can be created here in Poland thanks to the fact that we are making the Vistula Spit crossing. It is a wonderful symbol of effectiveness, of the fact that it can be done, that we are able to overcome impossibility and at the same time also credibility, the credibility of our announcements, but we are also in a special time when the world is looking for paths to rebuild economic growth after the coronavirus - stated Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki at the construction site of the Vistula Spit shipping canal.

12:19

Morawiecki:

Poland's Major Investment Plan, Anchored by a PLN 30 Billion Fund, Will Be Enhanced with Further Elements, Including Protective Shields

- And all major regions of the world, the USA, China, Europe, are focusing on investments. Let's state it very clearly: it is precisely through large investment plans, as the President just said, that we have emerged from major crises. The Marshall Plan, Roosevelt's New Deal, and even more recently, the Juncker Plan, were intended to be and were a path out of the previous crisis. And today, to Poland's major investment plan, which we want to announce with full force here, to declare, an investment plan comprising many of our projects, a plan whose core will be a public investment fund of at least PLN 30 billion. To this plan, we are adding many further elements of reconstruction. These are precisely the shields that protect jobs, the anti-crisis, financial shield, from which PLN 2 billion flows daily to companies to save jobs. This is precisely why the President and I decided to act so quickly, because we knew that once jobs are lost, as is happening today in France or Spain – we sympathize with our partners, there are already hundreds of thousands of new unemployed there, in southern Europe – once lost, jobs return with great difficulty. We remember this nightmare of the Third Polish Republic - stated Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki at the construction site of the Vistula Spit shipping channel.

12:29

PMM:

The Whole of Poland Will Soon Be a Vast Construction Site
The whole of Poland will soon be a new, vast construction site. But this also means new opportunities in the tourism industry, in tourism. The President mentioned this, but it also presents commercial and economic opportunities for many Polish entrepreneurs. This is our offer, our proposal for overcoming the crisis that the whole world has fallen into – stated Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki at the construction site of the shipping canal on the Vistula Spit.

12:32

Morawiecki:

We Need Great Cooperation, but for Major Development and Reconstruction Programs, We Also Need the Support of Great Leaders, and President Andrzej Duda is Such a Great Leader
I also want to emphasize one thing. There would not be these successes of ours, recognized across all of Europe, by the entire world, recognized today in the fight against the coronavirus, from the health, public health, and economic sides, if not for the close cooperation between the government and the president. The president proposes new solutions, and for major programs like the one I'm talking about, a major public investment program creating hundreds of thousands of jobs. We need excellent cooperation, but for major development and reconstruction programs, we also need the support of great leaders, and President Andrzej Duda is such a great leader. And I want to say today that for me, what I see as a development plan for Poland, the new Polish deal, which we want to propose, is precisely such a Duda plan. Because through this plan, by creating new jobs, hundreds of thousands and millions of new jobs, in a modern Polish economy, we will be able to catch up with Western Europe even faster, so that it will be exactly as the president said a few minutes ago, because that is what Poles want above all. European-level earnings, and we will strive for this even faster, and we will certainly achieve this goal – stated Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki at the construction site of the shipping canal on the Vistula Spit.

12:36

Morawiecki:

"Would Trzaskowski tell Warsaw residents they don't need a metro because Berlin has one? We need big investments and a guarantee that Duda's plan will succeed."

- There are politicians like Mr. Trzaskowski, who does not want these investments. He does not want investments such as the Vistula Spit (Mierzeja Wiślana) or the Central Communication Port (CPK). Here, at the Vistula Spit, they say: why do we need this canal, when there is the Pilawa Strait? Dependence on Russia. Further, for years to come. Just as Mr. Trzaskowski said before: why do we need the CPK, when we have a port in Berlin? I wonder if he would also tell the residents of Warsaw: why do we need a metro, when we have a metro in Berlin. No, Mr. Trzaskowski. We need precisely these large-scale investments and a guarantor that Duda's plan will succeed. Will the grand plan for rebuilding Poland after this coronavirus truly be something that Poles are waiting for – stated Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki at the construction site of the shipping canal on the Vistula Spit.

14:02

Kosiniak-Kamysz:

If we don't introduce voluntary ZUS, we'll see a growing grey or black economy
There is no employee without an employer. Those who try to pit employees and employers against each other today are leading Poland astray. Because both need support. The employer needs it to keep the company afloat, the employee to have a job in that company. The more we invest now, the better. And what has turned out to be the biggest headache for employers? ZUS contributions. Systematically increasing year after year, one of the highest increases in the last year. Almost 1500 PLN for self-employment. If we don't introduce voluntary ZUS, we'll see a growing grey or black economy. We will humiliate the employee and the employer. They don't expect golden mountains from the state. They want an end to this never-ending campaign of suspicion. 99% of employers, entrepreneurs in Poland are honest people. 1% are black sheep. Let's catch the black sheep, and we won't suspect 99% of honest Polish entrepreneurs - stated Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz in Przybysławice near Sandomierz.

14:03

Kosiniak-Kamysz:

Domestic and Family Businesses are the Pillar of the Polish Economy

- Domestic and family businesses are the pillar of the Polish economy. Without it, we will not move forward a single step. Domestic companies, because they won't leave when there's a crisis. A large financial corporation, when a crisis comes, packs its suitcases, orders the first available transport, be it by air or land, and leaves for its home. It returns to its homeland. This is not its homeland, not of large corporations, of global business. Banking or any other. Poland will be strong only when it is strong with its own property, but not solely in the hands of the state, but in the hands of those who have the capacity, the skills, and the desire to develop it. Domestic companies, our own technologies. Family businesses also mean family farms – stated Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz in Przybysławice near Sandomierz.

14:04

Kosiniak-Kamysz:

We Must Introduce an Agricultural Income Stabilization Fund and Subsidize Farmer Insurance

- We must introduce an agricultural income stabilization fund, we must introduce universal subsidies for farmer insurance. We must create the food holding that was promised, because it has not been established to this day. The countryside has been deceived, exploited, and rejected in many places. Brutally rejected, this industrious countryside - stated Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz in Przybysławice near Sandomierz.

14:04

Kosiniak-Kamysz:

'Own Corner' Project, 50,000 Zloty for Down Payment
If we don't stop young people, if we don't help them to be able to buy an apartment here, hence the 'Own Corner' project, 50,000 zloty for the down payment. I realize that 50,000 in Warsaw won't solve problems, but here in Sandomierz, it's a lot, because with that you can already have a down payment, take out a loan, and buy an apartment. Without an apartment, young people won't stay here, and there will be no development of family policy – stated Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz in Przybysławice near Sandomierz.

14:05

Kosiniak-Kamysz:

An Elected President Must Also Have More Power; I Will Advocate for Increased Presidential Authority to Ensure Bills Submitted to the Sejm are Considered Within 14 Days

- We must bring about systemic changes. A strong president, a Sejm elected through mixed elections, First-Past-the-Post, and voting for political formations, and the Senate as a self-governing chamber. This is a systemic change. An elected president must also have more power, and I will advocate for increased presidential authority so that a bill submitted to the Sejm is considered within 14 days and not a day longer. This is strength and efficacy - stated Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz in Przybysławice near Sandomierz.

14:07

Kosiniak-Kamysz:

Since June 2019, Andrzej Duda Has Not Presented a Single Bill. These are Facts. He is Not an Active President

- How many bills has Andrzej Duda presented recently? How many bills has he presented to save Polish agriculture, entrepreneurship, the Polish family? Since June 2019, Andrzej Duda has not presented a single bill. These are facts. He is not an active president; he does not even utilize the president's already limited powers - stated Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz in Przybysławice near Sandomierz.

14:19

Kosiniak-Kamysz to Orchard Farmers: We Demand Immediate Intervention, Not Presidential or Prime Ministerial Self-Promotion, but Concrete Action. We Are Ready to Cooperate.

- I think many a Polish farmer is fed up seeing what's happening. 20 million tons of Russian coal and zero tons of Polish apples in the East. It's hard to bear it calmly anymore. We demand immediate intervention. Not presidential self-promotion, not prime ministerial self-promotion, but concrete action. We are ready to cooperate - stated Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz in Skotniki, during a meeting with orchard farmers.

14:21

Kosiniak-Kamysz:

I Ask, Appeal, Call, and Demand Support for Orchard Owners from Ardanowski, Morawiecki, and Duda

- I ask, appeal, call, and demand support for orchard owners from Ardanowski, from Morawiecki, and from Duda in the Sandomierz region, in Grójec, throughout Poland - stated Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz in Skotniki, during a meeting with orchard owners.

14:55

Hołownia:

The False Dogma Paralyzing Our Imagination is That It's Either Civic Platform or Law and Justice. Professional Politicians Have Convinced Us We're Unnecessary.

- This is a false dogma that paralyzes our imagination. That it's either Civic Platform or Law and Justice. Professional politicians have convinced us that we are of no use to them. That we, as citizens of the Republic of Poland, are simply too stupid to engage in politics, because that is their occupation, their profession, and they are capable of handling it all for us. And we are needed by them once every 4 years to be deceived, bought with more promises, and to go and give them this ticket for another 4 years, a ticket to the ring where they will beat each other for 4 years for our amusement or outrage, and in 4 years, the same festival of promises, the same stories – stated Szymon Hołownia in Krakow.

14:55

Hołownia:

Our Tragedy is that Political and Civic Imagination has been Paralyzed Not by Visionaries, but by Incompetents

- Our tragedy is that our political and civic imagination has been paralyzed not by visionaries, but by incompetents. But by people who simply cannot do the job that, in a democracy, a citizen has the right to demand from a politician. After all, that's what they're paid for. I have the feeling, and I'm probably not the only one in Poland who feels this way, that for the past 15 years I've been drawn into voting always against something, rather than for something. That it has always been a choice of the lesser evil, a form of negative review of those who were in power at the time. How much longer can we watch this? And we should watch it, especially from this place where we stand, near the Jagiellonian University, because it shows us very clearly that it is not politicians who are bad, it is the system that is bad - stated Szymon Hołownia in Krakow.

14:56

Hołownia:

Do You Remember That Krakow Lawyer Who, Just 5 Years Ago, Was Perhaps Sensible Leader Material, Only for the Party Machine to Turn Him into a Mascot?

Do you remember a certain Krakow lawyer, perhaps well-known or perhaps not yet known then, who just 5 years ago was perhaps quite sensible leader material, and whom the party machine, the party machinery, turned into a mascot. Turned into someone who, at the very beginning, spoke beautiful words about our national community, about how he would be accountable to the citizens, and how he would shy away from being a spokesman for the government. And how long did he last? 3 months, until October 2015, when it turned out he was part of this very system. This is a story about what party politics can do today even to a person with good intentions. And lead him from being an unwavering decommunizer to someone who appointed a communist prosecutor to the Constitutional Tribunal. To become someone who talks about community, while deeply dividing the community. To become someone who deceives franc mortgage holders, who deceived those who hoped for any reform of the National Health Fund. He is a defender of our national community, who doesn't see the protest of parents of disabled children. This is a festival of broken promises, and I say this, I who did not vote for Duda, but I was someone who said: let's give him a chance, a young man has arrived, maybe he wants to rebuild the community, maybe he genuinely wants to do something different, outside this whole vicious circle we are stuck in. But it didn't work out. It turned out we got a mascot president – stated Szymon Hołownia in Krakow.

15:04

Hołownia:

Simply Saying 'I Won't Be Another Duda' Isn't Enough. We Need Someone to Unite a Nation of Diverse Poles.

- Simply saying 'I won't be another Duda' is definitely not enough. Today, we need someone who, regardless of who I vote for in this or that parliamentary election, will help us re-forge our national community composed of diverse Poles - stated Szymon Hołownia in Krakow.

15:05

Hołownia:

We Need a President Who Acts as an Arbiter, Not a Striker for One Team

- We need a president who will be an arbiter, not a striker for one of the teams. Someone who will nominate Trzaskowskis and Kosiniaks for prime ministers, but together with all Poles, regardless of their political leanings, forge a common narrative. I want a Poland that is not just the Poland of those who won the parliamentary vote, but also of those who lost it, because they too have the right to feel part of our community - stated Szymon Hołownia in Krakow.

15:11

Hołownia:

I Want a Poland Where It's Clear to Me That a Minister is a Minister and an Altar Server is an Altar Server

- The church and the state in their rightful places. Because things have gone too far. I want a Poland where it's clear to me that a minister is a minister and an altar server is an altar server. Where financial flows to institutions connected with certain individuals from the Church do not bear the hallmarks, to put it quite plainly, of political corruption and are not checked and measured in any way. This is something that should be the subject of an immediate audit, it should be checked and shown to Poles whether this is how they want their money spent. On the geothermal fantasies of some monks or on other memorial chambers where they will employ their cronies - stated Szymon Hołownia in Krakow.

15:19

Hołownia:

This Is Not the Place for Pharaoh-Like, Idiotic Ideas Like the Vistula Spit Canal, Which President Duda Visited Today

- A generation, not a term. It's time for us to finally start thinking about our homeland not in terms of projects designed to deliver this or that party to victory in the 2023 elections, and then we'll see. This is not the place for pharaoh-like, idiotic ideas, like the Vistula Spit canal which President Duda visited today, intended to help naval mapping motorboats navigate the Vistula Lagoon, which will cost 2 billion. This is not the time for such ideas. Today is the time for someone in this party system to instill a completely different perspective in those who will govern, to say: we've had a drought for 3 years - stated Szymon Hołownia in Krakow.

15:22

Hołownia:

A President in Poland, After What We've Experienced at the Hands of Professional Politicians, Should Not Be a Professional Politician
The President in Poland, I apologize, this is my opinion, someone may have a different one, today, after what we've experienced at the hands of professional politicians, should not be a professional politician. Because if we want a professional politician to continue ruling us, then the competencies are on the table, we had the chance to evaluate, they've all been here. We've seen. That's why I dream of a civic presidency - stated Szymon Hołownia in Krakow.

Biedroń Declares the End of Two Blocs and Nips at the Civic Platform: It Wasn't Easy Before PiS Either. Before PiS, there were those who said some cities were better and some worse. We Won't Allow the Privatization of Our State.
- We have come a long way to stand together today and say that we are ready. After 15 years of right-wing rule, the Polish left is ready to take responsibility not only for Poland but for all of Europe. To build a home that will be a home for all of us, without exclusions and without divisions. The end of right-wing divisions - said Robert Biedroń at a rally in Pabianice. Biedroń complimented Kwaśniewski's presidency: - This is not a one-party state. This is our community, which we have been building not only for the last 30 years but since the Second World War. Who, if not the left, should mend Poland? It is we who have shown many times that we gave Poland the best president after '89, Aleksander Kwaśniewski, and today we again need a president who will unite rather than divide, who will stand by those who are marginalized. Biedroń mainly attacked PiS, talking about 15 million fines: - Artists whose art was censored paid. Those who stood by Polskie Radio Program 3 defending freedom of speech paid, those who went for a walk paid, those who earn starvation wages or receive starvation pensions paid. And those who claim their pain is greater than our pain did not pay their fines. Those who claim to be of a better sort and don't need to wear masks when eating dinner in a restaurant did not pay. He also didn't spare comments for Civic Platform: - It wasn't easy before PiS either. Before PiS, there were those who said some cities were better and some worse. (...) Today, the same people say that public television should be privatized, and ideally, razed to the ground. We know there is pathology in TVP, but we will not allow the privatization of our state - said the Lewica candidate. - We will not be divided by the right, we will not let them convince us that there are better and worse people; we want one Poland - he said. According to the report by Nowe Życie Pabianic, 150 people, the maximum allowed by new regulations, participated in the rally. Biedroń pointed out that in the last elections in Pabianice, 18% of voters cast their ballots for the left.

15:42

Dworczyk:

Hate-filled posters targeting Szumowski and his family appeared overnight in Warsaw. We demand Trzaskowski prevent hate speech.

- Today, overnight, posters appeared on Warsaw bus stops targeting Łukasz Szumowski, his family, and his work. We must state this very clearly: we demand that Mayor Trzaskowski prevent hate speech in Warsaw. We demand that bus stops, which are part of Warsaw's infrastructure, even if it's rented advertising space, but it is the infrastructure of the capital city of Warsaw, be free from this kind of hateful, vitriolic graphics. This is unacceptable. It is a manifestation of extreme irresponsibility. We demand that these posters be removed as quickly as possible and that Mayor Trzaskowski ensure that this type of graphic, these posters, are not present in the urban space. Hate speech cannot be used in politics; one must not function in politics in this way. We also appeal to 'Gazeta Wyborcza,' on whose portal this information appeared, not to promote such actions. I don't know if these posters were hung legally or illegally. The fact is that everyone should disassociate themselves from this, because it is an absolutely unacceptable situation. It is the destruction of people and has nothing to do with political struggle. This, Mr. Mayor, is a way of not confronting political competition, but of destroying people, and this should be absolutely unacceptable in politics - stated Michał Dworczyk at a briefing before the Chancellery of the Prime Minister.

15:48

Kosiniak-Kamysz:

We Will Continuously Advocate for Support for Small and Micro-Entrepreneurs

- This year is an exceptionally difficult time for restaurant and cafe owners. The tourism industry is one of the main branches of the Polish economy. Towns like Sandomierz, Kazimierz Dolny, mountain resorts, and Baltic seaside resorts are extremely important for the Polish economy. We will continuously advocate for support for small and micro-entrepreneurs - stated Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz at a meeting with entrepreneurs in Sulejów.

- Our ideas for local governments, on the 30th anniversary of Polish self-governance, primarily involve organizing educational matters, an investment voucher, local government participation in VAT revenue, and guaranteeing funds for tasks commissioned by the government - the leader of PSL continued.

- As the Polish Coalition club, specifically MP Jacek Tomczak, submitted an amendment to the anti-crisis shield so that Polish companies producing wine can sell their products online. It is absurd that foreign companies can do this - he emphasized.

16:25

Trzaskowski:

We Need a New Kind of Politics, We Need to Rebuild Community and Bonds Between Poles

- Today, Poland needs change. But this change must start with ourselves. It must start with ourselves, step by step. We need a new kind of politics, we need to rebuild community and the bonds between Poles. This is incredibly important today. I wanted to tell you one thing. Let's leave those politicians who constantly bicker and always have such stern, hard faces. Let them continue to argue amongst themselves. Let's focus on what is most important. Let's focus on conversation, because recently this conversation among us has been sorely lacking. Sometimes there are situations where we even argue about politics at the Christmas Eve table, instead of considering what we can do together - stated Rafał Trzaskowski in Poznań.

- Today, what is needed is simply humility and work. Hard work, to reflect on what unites us - he continued.

16:34

Trzaskowski:

I Didn't Vote for Lech Kaczyński, but I Remember How Proud I Was When He, Along with Other Regional Presidents, Defended Georgian Democracy Against Attacks, Russia's Attack in Tbilisi
- Without strong local government, we will never be a modern society. And I'll tell you more. Those 90s, the beginning of this century, also featured strong Presidents of the Republic of Poland. Presidents who could rise above their political circles and be independent. Aleksander Kwaśniewski, Lech Kaczyński. I didn't vote for Lech Kaczyński, but I remember how proud I was when he, along with other regional presidents, defended Georgian democracy against attacks, Russia's attack in Tbilisi. I remember how proud I was of him - stated Rafał Trzaskowski in Poznań.

16:40

Trzaskowski on 500+: Some of us criticized this program, but it is justified. It was a good move, a good decision, but unfortunately, it was not accompanied by a strengthening of the state. Which is what our competitors promised

- Our political competitors made a good diagnosis: that no one should be left behind. That everyone deserves respect. That the weaker must be helped, that everyone must have a stake in our common success. It was a good diagnosis, and credit must be given for that. What was the prescription? The prescription was 500+. Some of us criticized this program, but this program is justified. It allowed people to find their footing in the new reality. It must be acknowledged, it is an absolutely inalienable pillar of our social policy, and it was a good move, a good decision, but unfortunately, it was not accompanied by a strengthening of the state. Which is, after all, what our competitors promised. Our state, our beloved homeland, has simply been dramatically weakened, which is evident precisely in these times of epidemic. Where rational decisions are not being made. Where, unfortunately, the state is weak, where attempts are being made to organize undemocratic elections, violating what is sacred: the authority of the Republic of Poland. And this must not be allowed – stated Rafał Trzaskowski in Poznań.

16:45

Trzaskowski on Local Government: It Wasn't an Escape, But a Proud Decision to be Close to People, to Help, Build, Invest, and Have Our Own Plan for Changing Our City, Town, or Village

- In times of fruitless discussion, and there is quite a lot of fruitless discussion in Polish politics, it must be admitted, some of us retreated into local government. Do you know why? It wasn't an escape. It was a proud decision to be close to people, to help, build, invest, and have our own plan for changing our city, town, or village. And this is our strength, the strength of our local government officials, but in reality, it is your strength. Because just as back then, in those high school days, local government wasn't me or my colleagues who were in that local government, it was the entire community of my high school. So today, local government is you, the local government of Poznań is of course your wonderful president, Jacek Jaśkowiak, but it is above all you, the people of Poznań, whom we always envy a little, your rational approach to life and the fact that you never give in – stated Rafał Trzaskowski in Poznań.

16:49

Trzaskowski:

They are trying to destroy local government, and the time has come to say "enough"

- In recent months, we too have been targeted. Us and you, because together we are local government. They are trying to cut our budgets for implementing plans and competition programs. They are trying to limit our prerogatives, take away our squares, our pride in being from Poznań, Warsaw, Gdańsk. They are trying to destroy local government, and the time has come to say "enough" - stated Rafał Trzaskowski in Poznań.

16:55

Trzaskowski:

Today the Time Has Come to Say "Enough" to a Government That Tries to Divide Us. We Should All Be Together
Yes, to say enough, and if anyone, but not Poznań residents, needs to be taught to say enough to bad governments and oppression. You are the authors of the successful June 1956 Uprising. We have always admired you for that, and today the time has come to say "enough" to a government that no one is watching. Today the time has come to say "enough" to a government that tries to divide us, to divide us into people from big cities, small towns, from the east, the west, yet we are all the same. We all have the same problems. The epidemic showed this. We all think about health, safety, about equal opportunities in education. Today there are no divisions, and they are trying to divide us, to insult us, to insult Silesians, Kashubians, to say that some are better and others are worse, that some are believers, others are not, that some are ours, others are not ours. We must say "enough" to this. We should all be together - said Rafał Trzaskowski in Poznań.

16:56

Trzaskowski:

We Must Also Say 'Enough' to Hate, Lies, and Incitement

- We must also say 'enough' to hate, lies, and incitement, and today I stand before you to loudly and clearly state: we have had enough - stated Rafał Trzaskowski in Poznań.

17:01

Trzaskowski:

We've Had Enough of Politicians Who Dodge Every Difficult Question

- The Republic of Poland, our beloved homeland, needs a strong, independent president above all else. I can promise you one thing. Complete independence. Do you know how many times I've heard: Why, Rafał, do you bring up difficult topics? Why do you express opinions that might later be perceived as problematic? Why do you talk about difficult matters? I'll tell you why. Because we've had enough of politicians who run away from answering every difficult question. I am in politics, just like many of my colleagues, for a reason. To present values, to stand guard over the weaker - stated Rafał Trzaskowski in Poznań.

17:03

Trzaskowski:

I Personally Will Not Allow Anyone to Appropriate the Word 'Solidarity', Because It Is Our Shared Heritage, Which We Are So Proud Of, and Today We Need Solidarity, a New Solidarity

- I will promise you one thing: the president will certainly be independent if we win. There is a word that Poles themselves have introduced into foreign encyclopedias, which they have contributed as their own heritage to world history. This word is dear to all of us. Solidarity. And we will not allow, I personally will not allow, anyone to appropriate the word 'solidarity', because it is our shared heritage, which we are so proud of, and today we need solidarity, a new solidarity - stated Rafał Trzaskowski in Poznań.

17:07

Trzaskowski:

When the Election Campaign Begins, We Will Talk About the Program
When the election campaign begins, we will talk about the program. But today, after this shock, after the crisis, it is no longer so obvious who is weaker. I try to be among all those who are currently facing problems, across Poland, and today these are people in liberal professions, artisans, our entrepreneurs who are fighting for Polish companies. These are all people fighting for every job. Just like all local government officials I meet across Poland. Today, it's the tourism industry, it's people who live on the border, and very many of them have been left to themselves in these difficult times. We cannot allow this, and that is precisely why new solidarity is needed – stated Rafał Trzaskowski in Poznań.

17:09

Trzaskowski:

We Need a Strong President Who Holds Power Accountable. A Strong President Who Initiates Action in Difficult Times and Stimulates the Government.
- Power must be for the people, not people for power. And for this, cooperation is needed. A strong president is needed who holds power accountable. A strong president is needed who comes up with initiatives when the situation is difficult, who stimulates the government to act. A strong president is needed who is a completely independent person. A strong president is needed who will always stand up for the weaker, who will not allow us to be divided, who will allow us to rebuild community - stated Rafał Trzaskowski in Poznań.

17:16

Trzaskowski:

There should be no monopoly in difficult times. Power must watch power's hands. The President must watch power's hands. There must be balance, and we must regain that balance.

- The President must be a partner to those in power, not their instrument. This is because a monopoly of power serves only power. A monopoly of power serves only power. And therefore, this monopoly should not exist. Regardless of one's political sympathies. Today, this monopoly should not exist in difficult times. Power must watch power's hands. The President must watch power's hands. There must be balance, and we must regain that balance - stated Rafał Trzaskowski in Poznań.

17:20

Trzaskowski:

I Will Not Be a President of Total Opposition, Because the President Must Cooperate with the Government if the Government Wants to Strengthen Poland

- I have repeatedly said that I will not be a president who constantly quarrels with the ruling party. I will not be a president of total opposition, because the president must cooperate with the government if the government wants to strengthen Poland. If the government makes difficult decisions regarding overcoming the crisis, the president should cooperate with the government. If the government starts negotiating money from the EU, because so far it hasn't started, it boasts of success, but so far no negotiations have begun, the president must support the government in this. And I am absolutely ready for that, but the president cannot allow the destruction of the community, the appropriation of the state, making profit from someone's misery, or building corrupt arrangements. The president must be independent - stated Rafał Trzaskowski in Poznań.

17:23

Trzaskowski:

I Will Give My All. And Seeing You, I Know You Will Give Your All Too

- I will give my all. And seeing you, I know you will give your all too. Absolutely everything. Hold your heads high, be brave, be proud. Go, let us win - stated Rafał Trzaskowski in Poznań.
