At **12:00 PM**, Senate committees will resume consideration of the bill on special rules for organizing general elections for the president, called in 2020, with the option of postal voting. It is not excluded that the Senate, if the Senate committees conclude their work, will address the bill this week – such a scenario was suggested last week by Tomasz Grodzki. Also at **12:00 PM**, a meeting of the Sejm committee on regulations, parliamentary affairs, and immunity will hold the first reading of the draft resolution submitted by PiS regarding changes to the Sejm's standing orders. The aim is to enable the lower house to elect members of the so-called commission on pedophilia. At **5:30 PM**, the Sejm committee on energy and state treasury will consider and opine on the motion of no confidence filed by KO against Jacek Sasin. According to sources speaking to 300POLITYKI, the Sejm will likely address the motion tomorrow, when a two-day session begins. Most likely, the government will also decide **today** on the next stage of lifting restrictions, including those concerning mask-wearing, as announced yesterday by the Minister of Health. – *I expect [recommendations regarding masks] tomorrow. I think this is a very anticipated element by Poles. Tomorrow, we will issue these recommendations together with the Prime Minister, similar to the rules concerning weddings, and various aspects of everyone's normal life* – said Łukasz Szumowski at a press conference. At **11:30 AM**, Krzysztof Bosak will hold a press conference in front of the Sejm. At **1:00 PM** in Łomża, Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz will hold a press conference. **Around noon** in Warsaw, Szymon Hołownia will hold his first press conference. A second conference will take place at **4:00 PM** in Legionowo. Meanwhile, at **2:30 PM** in Laski, in front of a single mother's home, Robert Biedroń will hold a press conference. Following the conference, everyday necessities will be handed over.

- [Jacek Sasin] fled to quarantine as soon as he found out he would have to answer for what he did with the election ballots, for what he did with the Polish Post, for what he did with the Polish elections. That's how it will be. That is, at the moment when we hold them accountable, and we will hold them accountable, all ministers of the PiS government, they will flee. - Everywhere, when some not entirely democratic regimes collapsed, everyone suddenly fell ill and couldn't stand before a court. It's clear that this illness is starting to affect PiS politicians already - he continued.

- After everything Mr. Sasin has done, I don't fully believe in the honesty of what Mr. Sasin says and declares. But I have a proposal. If Mr. Sasin is in quarantine and cannot attend the debate, let's make an exchange. If Mr. Szumowski is healthy, let's postpone the vote of no confidence against Mr. Sasin to the next Sejm session, after his quarantine ends, and let's deal with Mr. Szumowski, who declared in his financial statement that he possesses 1,000 PLN, is a minister earning several tens of thousands, a professor, a practicing physician for many years, an outstanding doctor, and has 1,000 PLN in his account. I understand that if a child came to him and said: 'Dad, buy me a scooter for 300 PLN,' he would have to take out a loan to buy it, because he only has 1,000 PLN. I am exaggerating a little, but the problem is serious. We are talking about the disappearance of any standards of honesty in this government. This is a government that came to power on slogans of honesty, yet lies, abuses power, and hides wealth like Russian oligarchs from the public, and we cannot pretend that nothing is happening - stated Sławomir Nitras in "Rozmowa Piaseckiego" on TVN24.

- In the old days, meaning just a few years ago, Mr. Szumowski would have had to answer to an independent prosecutor, he would have had to answer to a court. The Prime Minister would have dismissed him immediately, any Prime Minister, not just Donald Tusk, but also the previous Prime Minister. Simply put, those were the standards - stated Sławomir Nitras in TVN24's "Rozmowa Piaseckiego".

- Because while being a minister [Łukasz Szumowski] in the Ministry of Science, at the same time his brother's and wife's company, which he concealed, because journalists later, politicians discovered that his wife was also involved. The minister did not inform anyone about this. They received multi-million zloty grants from this ministry, and the minister obfuscated, equivocated, did not tell the truth. What's more, I say this with full responsibility, he falsified his asset declarations, because transferring assets to his wife days before entering government, establishing a separation of property with her, constitutes a falsification of that declaration. - I support him, I know Rafał. We couldn't have dreamed of a better president today - Agnieszka Pomaska said in an interview with Robert Mazurek on RMF FM's "Morning Interview".

- You yourself said "wisdom of the stage." In politics, one must always know what stage it is and adapt to that stage - she added.

"Just a few weeks ago, we had a bill in the Senate that proposed holding elections within the May timeframe. Due to the Senate's obstructionist actions, these elections did not take place. Now, we are likely seeing a similar situation. The Electoral Code does not regulate issues related to the situation that occurred in recent days, specifically the postponement of election dates after they have not been held. The Senate should pass this bill as soon as possible," stated government spokesperson, Minister Piotr Müller, on Polish Radio 24.

- We are not collecting signatures yet - said Agnieszka Pomaska on RMF FM.

- I am waiting for the election date. But it is true that many people want to collect these signatures. We have a draft list for collecting signatures, but we tell everyone that these signatures can be collected only when the election date is announced, when the electoral procedure actually starts - she added.

„Today, the RZZK meeting is taking place. I think that final decisions should be made at this sitting. The issues related to announcing the resolutions are definitely this week. This should happen by tomorrow at the latest. Specific dates regarding the unfreezing of subsequent areas of social and economic life, which have been restricted due to this epidemic, should already be indicated” - said the government spokesperson, Minister Piotr Müller, on Polish Radio 24.

- I do not share this opinion of the Professor [Ewa Łętowska regarding the presidential elections], although I approach all opinions expressed by the Professor with great respect. We are not discussing dates at all. The elections on May 10th or on subsequent dates, May 17th, did not take place because Mr. Kaczyński ordered all his people, starting with Mr. Duda and ending with Mr. Duda, depending on one's perspective, ordered them: they must take place and they must happen. And today we see the same. They don't want to talk about procedures, they don't consider how these elections are to be equal, direct, secret, and fair, they only talk about the fact that they must take place on the date dictated by Jarosław Kaczyński. And we would want it to be without any pressure. Even Mr. Czarnek said he was impressed by the level, pace, and quality of work in the Senate. The Senate is working as the Sejm should work. - No, Bartosz Arłukowicz will not be [leading Rafał Trzaskowski's election campaign]. There will be a new campaign manager. It is not my place to reveal this information, but since you suggested it, as I heard my name, I can deny it. I will not be the campaign manager for candidate Rafał Trzaskowski for this election - stated Sławomir Nitras in "Rozmowa Piaseckiego" on TVN24.

“This appointment [of Małgorzata Manowska] shows the flaws in the process and the bad faith of those who supervised it, as well as an unjustified haste to close this matter as quickly as possible, and President Duda participated in this. All of this shows that it will be necessary to look into this very carefully when the situation allows, meaning after the elections” – said Grzegorz Schetyna of Civic Coalition in an interview with Jan Wróbel on Radio TOK FM's Morning Program.

"I believe he should accept [Laskowski the position of President of the Criminal Chamber]. It is his decision. We must fight for and defend all spaces of normality if there is such a possibility. Everywhere, in every institution, especially one as important as the Supreme Court, but I do not see good intentions from President Duda here" - said Grzegorz Schetyna from Civic Coalition on TOK FM.

- I started at 17%, then I was at 6%, then I returned to 18 or 20%. Currently, I'm in the teens. We'll see what happens in two or three weeks. I've truly seen so much in this campaign that I don't believe in outcomes lasting longer than a week or two - said Szymon Hołownia in an interview with Konrad Piasecki on TVN24's "Rozmowa Piaseckiego".

- This is about mobilization. It's not about who profited from what, but about mobilization. Platforma has now mobilized its iron-clad electorate to fight for what it always promises, which is to defeat PiS. Although in the last five years, for five times, somehow it hasn't managed to defeat PiS. Indeed, they sounded the alarm, there's mobilization, but what does that mean for us? It means that Andrzej Duda's electorate will mobilize, because nothing mobilizes Andrzej Duda's electorate more than a strong Platforma electorate - said Szymon Hołownia on TVN24.

- Elections in June cannot be scheduled due to very clearly defined articles of the Constitution. It seems to me that a way out of this situation would be, for example, to pass an amendment to the laws we are currently processing in the Senate, introducing a vacatio legis. As we have learned, the ceremony for the appointment of Michał Laskowski to the position of President of the Supreme Court managing the work of the Criminal Chamber has concluded at the Presidential Palace. The new First President of the Supreme Court, Prof. Małgorzata Manowska, participated in the ceremony.

- The office of the president is not vacant. Andrzej Duda is serving in his office, and the legality of this fact is not being challenged. The deadlines for the [Sejm] Marshal to call presidential elections, in accordance with the Constitution, have simply passed - stated Michał Kamiński on Radio Plus.

- A very good, working meeting has taken place, a consultation of all democratic majority forces represented in the Senate regarding several aspects of the upcoming session, but there's no denying it was primarily focused on the issue of the electoral law. - Unfortunately, it's no surprise that the Senate is holding up election regulations. We warned about this, standing here together with Janusz Korwin-Mikke at a press conference before the second meeting of the so-called Round Table. On both sides of the dispute, both the PiS and Civic Platform camps, there is foolish stubbornness, a reluctance to establish any mutually acceptable timetable for political actions. We distance ourselves from both sides of this dispute, while this foolish stubbornness and the back-and-forth with interpretations stems, of course, from the desire to mobilize their electoral bases. It's a cynical game with the political emotions of Poles. The more one side shifts responsibility to the other, the greater its effectiveness in mobilizing its voters and polarizing the entire society around two compromised political banners, PiS and Civic Platform. We are breaking away from this division, presenting Poles with a substantive alternative and election regulations. Regarding the June 28th date, I say this in every commentary: any date is fine, provided that the elections are conducted fairly and around a mutually acceptable timetable. If PiS has entered into this controversial declaration that new candidates can be added to the elections during their course, it should provide a reasonable time for collecting signatures. The longer the passing of the regulations is delayed, the less time there is. So, with each day, the June 28th date becomes more and more controversial, and I believe that's the point. The more controversial the date, the easier it will be to sway the political emotions of Poles. Hence my appeal to Poles, as well as to the media: let's simply not fall for this social engineering. We are subjected day after day to social engineering designed to push us to our emotional limit, so that we become hostages of two political camps that have no goal of Poland's good, but rather to mutually improve their situation in relation to other political camps. Let's show a red card to both Trzaskowski and Duda for these games they are playing – stated Krzysztof Bosak at a press briefing in front of the Sejm.

I will certainly not make decisions alone. There is a collegium, there are the presidents of the chambers. I am just going to a meeting with them, and we will agree on everything together. The judiciary simply cannot be 'manually controlled,' and all such decisions that weigh on the Supreme Court's authority must be agreed upon and developed through democratic discussion, stated First President of the Supreme Court Małgorzata Manowska in an interview with journalists.

„*I wish you, dear mothers, that the love you give, may it return to you multiplied throughout your lives*” – says Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz in a special spot, who in the recording, together with his daughter Zosia, draws a card for her mother.

- As a presidential candidate, I would like to propose one solution that will make life easier for millions of women. I appeal for us to adopt a law that will treat alimony like taxes, so that finally this multitude of women struggling with financial problems because their husbands or partners do not pay taxes will finally receive a decent amount of money - said Robert Biedroń during a press conference in front of the Chancellery of the Prime Minister.

- I now know why the total opposition has no program. Because López Aguilar, the author, stole the opposition's program. And he signed it. It's a text that no non-Polish politician or expert could have written. It's a kind of political manifesto or even an opposition political program, as I half-jokingly, half-seriously told you. There are extremely harsh and false statements in it. It's an attack, or rather a call for an attack by the European Commission against Poland. Minister Jaki will speak about the details, but in essence, the report leaves virtually no stone unturned when it comes to all institutions of the Polish state. The Sejm is bad, the President, the government, the prosecutor, the Supreme Court, especially its two chambers, education, elections are bad, etc., etc. – stated Jacek Saryusz-Wolski at a press briefing.

- Why is this the case? Two contextual elements. Firstly, with astonishing regularity and a surprisingly synchronized rhythm, critical reports or proceedings against Poland appear whenever there are elections in Poland. This was the case during local, parliamentary, and now it is the case with the presidential elections. Secondly, it always happens when a firm stance from Poland or Central-Eastern Europe or Hungary, which refuses certain solutions, is anticipated. I mean the budget, which is currently being decided along with the corona fund. Then an attack appears, which is intended to push those political forces onto the defensive. So these are two contextual elements that explain why such a massive attack has occurred – the MEP continued.

- In those first weeks of the pandemic, I was very much rooting for Minister Szumowski. I saw his dark circles and truly believed that these dark circles showed his exhaustion, his dedication to fighting the coronavirus. Today, I have the impression that those dark circles were focused on something else. On counting the big millions, which, as it turns out in this octopus, perhaps didn't end up where they should have – said Robert Biedroń during a press conference in front of the Chancellery of the Prime Minister. 

- Maintaining this uncertainty is a consequence of PiS's fear. PiS is afraid they will lose these elections. The lower President Duda's approval ratings fall, the more PiS will keep us in suspense because they will be preparing alternative scenarios. They will be preparing us for scenarios that will save PiS's and Andrzej Duda's skin. This shows the degradation we are in, the electoral chaos we are in. We, as The Left, are ready to vote, we are ready for these elections. We appeal for the election date to be announced as soon as possible. I'm fired up. I heard the little tiger is also fired up. Others are fired up. We are ready for these elections. We want to go vote. Let Jarosław Kaczyński finally decide, let him have the courage to announce this election date – said Robert Biedroń during a press conference in front of the Chancellery of the Prime Minister.

“I don’t know when elections will be held in Poland, or in what format they will take place. The Law and Justice party (PiS) has created such a terrible mess in this regard that it will go down in history books already. I cannot fully grasp the actions of the opposition parties who, having had a bill in the Senate for two weeks, could have introduced all the necessary amendments to it. To arrange it and straighten it out in such a way that, when making our choices, we could be aware that we are making them in a universal, secret, and direct manner” – said presidential candidate Szymon Hołownia at a press conference. 

- This situation means we should fundamentally question things. Namely, whether someone who seeks the office of president, and is already serving as president, should look out for their own country or not. Why do I ask this? Because does a person who writes a resolution against their own country, like Rafał Trzaskowski, look out for their country in doing so or not? Do we want such a president or not? Someone might tell you: it's just politics. It has no bearing on the life of an average citizen. That's not true. Because in this report, and in previous reports as well, it's written almost directly that Poland is to be deprived of money, meaning the quality of life for every Pole is to be lowered. By whom? By someone who wants to be the president of all Poles. Should it be this way? Should the President of the Republic of Poland be like that? Can you imagine the president of Germany, or France, writing a resolution against their own country? Can you imagine such a president? And no less important is what is contained in this resolution. In point 29, the EP condemns new regulations prohibiting the political activity of judges. It condemns regulations prohibiting the political activity of judges. New regulations. What new regulations? Article 178 of the 1997 Constitution, titled 'Judicial Independence.' And what do we read here? A judge cannot belong to a political party. So, ladies and gentlemen. They are telling us to break the Constitution, which, by the way, was not created by PiS or the United Right or right-wing parties, and for this, we are to be punished, for not wanting to break our own Constitution? Is every Pole to be punished financially? And still, people who are running for president create these types of resolutions against their own country. I hear that it doesn't matter, that it has no significance, that it's some kind of ritual political struggle. What ritual political struggle? In any country in Europe, this would, in my opinion, be a huge scandal - stated Patryk Jaki at a press conference.

Tomorrow morning, Prime Minister Müller will present the schedule for the next stage of lifting restrictions.

- In my assessment, it is very important that when deciding who we want to make President of the Republic of Poland, we consider whether such a person participated in the creation of resolutions that affect the lives of the average Pole, because the president represents all Poles - stated Patryk Jaki at a press briefing.

- The Sejm passed this amendment [regarding the presidential election] at lightning speed, and Marshal Grodzki, once again, is applying obstruction. After today's events, there are likely no doubts left that Civic Platform and the opposition-dominated Senate once again want to obstruct the elections. They succeeded with the May elections, and I hope they won't succeed with the June elections. Why is the June date important? The June 28th date, assuming we will have two rounds of presidential elections, and such an assumption must be made, followed by three weeks for the Supreme Court to consider applications, is the last possible date for us to have an elected president before the end of the current president's term, which expires on August 6th. Therefore, we will do everything, and I hope Marshal Witek will make this decision, to ensure the elections take place on June 28th. Platforma, by obstructing in the Senate, is hindering themselves, including the campaign to collect signatures for their candidate, as it reduces the time for all necessary electoral calendar activities. So, I think PO politicians are shooting themselves in the foot in this way - stated Adam Bielan at a press briefing.

„If this is true, if the Ministry of Health has been turned into a money pumping station, then these are the standards of the dreamed-of San Escobar. This is no longer a cardboard state. It's an illusion of a state. Tomorrow, we will establish a parliamentary team to clarify this affair, this matter. We know that a commission of inquiry will not be formed. The special services commission will not deal with this issue. We know that state control institutions will not examine this situation because they are protected by their own people” – said the Polish Coalition's presidential candidate and PSL leader Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz at a press conference.

- I would like to refer to today's statement by Mr. Mayor [Trzaskowski], who spoke about credibility, trust, and building potential on trust. I agree with this 100%. That indeed, a given word is very valuable and we should keep our word, and we as a government are doing just that. By introducing the anti-crisis shield mechanisms, we introduced instruments, secured funds for these instruments, and funds for the implementation of the given task. Mr. Mayor said today that Warsaw has already disbursed PLN 80 million. According to the statistics we have, at the moment, if Warsaw is a leader nationwide, Warsaw has made the best disbursements. In my opinion, PLN 74 million is less than PLN 104 million disbursed by Łódź. Gdańsk disbursed PLN 91 million. Wrocław disbursed PLN 85 million, so these are also large cities. Thus, credibility is indeed the foundation, and I would like this credibility to work both ways, and instead of organizing meetings and not fully stating what is true in numbers, I encourage oversight of the implementation of these applications, because entrepreneurs are waiting. And I will say that the city of Warsaw has requested an increase in the limits of funds for loan payouts to the amount of PLN 250 million. Of course, we will secure these PLN 250 million and for the servicing of these PLN 250 million, we will allocate PLN 1 million 250 thousand for the servicing of this task. This is very important, so we are ready for cooperation, but above all, for real support for entrepreneurs - stated Marlena Maląg at a press briefing.

I would like to remind everyone that the postal voting bill, despite us not assuming bad faith on the part of the Senate and despite my conversations with the Speaker of the Senate, it turned out that this bad faith did indeed occur. This bill was held up in the Senate for the maximum possible time, 29 days, and it turned out that these elections could not be organized by the date I announced, which was May 10th. It soon became clear what the main objective was; for me, there are no doubts about it anymore either. The Civic Coalition's goal was candidate replacement - said Marshal Elżbieta Witek during a press conference in the Sejm.

- "I am strongly appealing to the senators, counting on them to look beyond party interests, that the presidential elections must take place within the timeframe stipulated by the constitution. We are currently in a new situation, after May 10th, which is the day the elections did not take place, which is also a precedent, and I have to announce a new election date. I will announce this new election date in accordance with the legal basis cited by the National Electoral Commission (PKW). No one can suspect the PKW of being a body dependent or controlled by PiS," said Marshal Elżbieta Witek during a press conference in the Sejm.

- "The new elections must be held in accordance with the new law, because otherwise they would have to be held based on the law on postal voting, which was contested and questioned by the opposition," Witek added.

- "I told the Marshal today that he misled me once again. I no longer believe any of the Senate Marshal's assurances, because it is unprofessional. We are talking to each other as individuals in equivalent positions and functions. I am responsible for the work in the Sejm, the Marshal for the work in the Senate. I truly do not see, and have not seen for two weeks now, as two weeks will have passed, any intensive work taking place there," she continued.

- "We still have time. Today is only Tuesday. I am starting the Sejm tomorrow, as I agreed with Marshal Grodzki, I will not cancel it now. We will see what happens on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. If the Marshal and the opposition senators cared, as we do, about Poland's raison d'état, the good of the state, and the future of Poles, because it is connected to the presidential elections, we do not want to lead to chaos, we want agreement, we want peace, we want to finally be able to function normally," stated the Marshal of the Sejm.

- Now, if this law [regarding presidential elections] does not come into effect quickly, then very soon reports from that campaign will be required, and an auditor will step in. So, we don't know if the election committees are ready for this. How the old campaign will be accounted for in the new campaign. No one is paying attention to this, yet regulations also apply in this matter – stated Elżbieta Witek at a press briefing.

- The [National Electoral Commission] resolution is not a normative act, and only normative acts are announced immediately. Therefore, I would like to say once again to Chairman Budka, but also to you, ladies and gentlemen, that I adhere to deadlines, I adhere to the law, and I watch over these deadlines. 14 days from the publication of the National Electoral Commission resolution in the Journal of Laws is the deadline by which I must announce the date of new elections. I will certainly not wait those 14 days, but will announce them as soon as possible, because this is such an important matter that if there is obstruction in the Senate, I want you to know that there has never been, is not, and will not be such obstruction in the Sejm - stated Elżbieta Witek at a press briefing.

I categorically deny this [that I deceived Marshal Witek]. "I believe that those guilty of breaking the law and mismanagement should be severely punished, and I am convinced that this will happen in the future. Therefore, I propose: not destroying 33 million ballot papers; transferring them to the ministries and central offices subordinate to the Prime Minister; ordering ministries to use the ballot papers for drafting official correspondence, among other things." - proposes Sławomir Nitras in his interpellation to the Prime Minister.

"I wish to point out that ballot papers are of a standard format, in which documents and correspondence are printed by all offices in Poland. Only one side is covered with content, while the other is blank. Therefore, I propose that the Prime Minister should order the ministries and subordinate offices to overprint the prepared ballot packages with an annotation such as: 'This ballot paper was printed for the so-called postal presidential elections in 2020, which, due to the prevailing law, were not conducted. The ballot is invalid.'" - writes Nitras in the interpellation.

"The second side of the paper - ministries can use according to their needs, for example, for preparing official correspondence or decisions. The cost of printing the aforementioned ballot papers is so enormous that the Prime Minister should not allow these documents to be worthless burnt or shredded. Similarly, envelopes that are part of the so-called electoral set should be utilized. The use of prepared ballots and envelopes in this way will, to some extent, limit State Treasury losses. The Prime Minister's decision will be a kind of punishment for the wrongdoings of your Government and will have significant educational value for both you and the entire society." - writes Nitras.
