No one will put pressure on the President regarding when to sign or not sign.

At 11:00 AM, the Senate will host consultations regarding the work on the so-called postal voting bill. Participants will include the Marshal of the Senate Tomasz Grodzki, Deputy Marshals of the Senate Gabriela Morawska-Stanecka and Michał Kamiński, as well as experts in electoral law and personal data protection, along with epidemiologists and postal workers.
The Marshal of the Senate has extended invitations, among others, to the CEO of Poczta Polska (Polish Post) Tomasz Zdzikot, former Chairman of the State Electoral Commission Wojciech Hermeliński, President of the Polish Society of Epidemiologists and Physicians of Infectious Diseases, Prof. Robert Flisiak, as well as representatives of trade unions operating within Poczta Polska.
At 8:10 AM in Warsaw, a press conference will be held with the participation of Robert Biedroń, Włodzimierz Czarzasty, and Adrian Zandberg on the bill to halt the commercialization of hospitals and the distribution of masks to Warsaw residents. Another press conference with Biedroń will take place at 3:30 PM. Additionally, at 12:00 PM in Poznań, the state funeral of Krystyna Łybacka will be held.
At 1:00 PM in the Załuski municipality, a press conference will be held by Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska, the Civic Coalition's presidential candidate.
As we wrote on 300POLITYKA, another meeting between the leaders of Civic Platform and the leader of Agreement, Jarosław Gowin, is scheduled for today. Furthermore, according to 300POLITYKA's information, a meeting between Gowin and President Andrzej Duda is planned for this afternoon. This will thus be one of the decisive weeks in Polish politics.

Szydło:
Opposition Politicians Have Sadly Not Matured for Their Role. In Bad Faith, They Are Trying to Do Everything to Destabilize the Situation
- Politics must calm down. The political scene must be stable. Let's hold elections and focus on what is truly most important today, namely work, the economy, and securing Polish families, because we are in a special time, and it seems that opposition politicians have sadly not matured for their role and do not want to see this. In bad faith, they are trying to do everything to destabilize the situation - said Beata Szydło in an interview with Katarzyna Gójska on "Sygnały dnia" on Jedynka radio.

I Believe in the Responsibility of Porozumienie MPs. Postal Voting Ensures Full Security
07:41
Szydło:
Yesterday, Normal In-Person Elections Held in 43 Municipalities in Poland. Claiming Mail-in Voting is Impossible is Simply False.
07:50
Szydło:
Elections Must Constitutionally Take Place. We Cannot Afford to Break the Constitution Right Now
- I believe that responsibility will prevail. I deeply believe this, because Poland desperately needs this responsibility today. If someone is unable to bear this burden, they will contribute to what the opposition wants right now, namely destabilization, chaos, and leading to a much more difficult political situation in Poland. Elections must constitutionally take place. Poland cannot, we cannot afford to break the constitution right now. Any other solution is simply a bad solution. Postal elections in May are possible and will be safe - said Beata Szydło in an interview with Katarzyna Gójska on "Sygnały dnia" on Jedynka radio.

- The "shield" [economic support package], additional regulations concerning the epidemic and economic crisis, have not yet been adopted by the government, and therefore legislative solutions are currently being worked on. The employers' side has submitted various proposals, as has the trade union side. Consequently, there is a whole host of regulations being proposed at the moment. Final agreements will be reached today and tomorrow - stated Piotr Müller in an interview with Beata Michniewicz on "Trójka's Political Salon".
08:10
Müller:
Decisions on the second stage of easing restrictions will be made tomorrow or the day after, following data from the week since the first stage was introduced
08:14
Müller:
Postponements from the Third Stage Are Being Considered, While Talks with Shopping Mall Representatives Continue
- Certain postponements from the third stage [to the second] are being considered, however, talks are ongoing with shopping mall representatives regarding the terms under which they would be able to open these facilities under heightened sanitary rigor. Prime Minister Emilewicz is discussing this matter, and indeed, the Prime Minister also met with these shopping mall owners via video conference last week, so such moves are also being considered here. However, everything ultimately depends on the number of infections and their distribution across the country - stated Piotr Müller in an interview with Beata Michniewicz on "Trójka's Political Salon".

Grodzki:
Opposition Plans to Postpone Elections for Two Reasons: Ensuring Poles' Safety and Health, and Upholding Democratic Standards
„The opposition plans to bring about the postponement of the elections for two reasons, which are constant and unchanging: ensuring the safety and health of Polish women and men, and ensuring democratic standards for the presidential elections. Everything else involves actions that can be planned, discussed, but the first and most important task is to ensure safe, democratic elections” – said the Marshal of the Senate, Tomasz Grodzki, in an interview with Dominika Wielowieyska on Radio TOK FM's Poranek.
08:32
„This is a matter for party leaders. Our task in the Senate at the moment, this week, is to conduct intensive consultations and committee meetings concerning this procedure. In my opinion, such an agreement [with Jarosław Gowin's Agreement], which by necessity must contain some detailed arrangements, is getting closer” – said Senate Marshal Tomasz Grodzki on TOK FM.
08:33
“Regarding this project [on postal voting], given the decidedly, and indeed very critical, opinions that are arriving daily at the Senate, it appears this project will be rejected. We have nothing against postal voting, but it must be conducted in a manner that ensures everyone has the opportunity to cast their vote, and here we are not ensuring this, for example, for Poles living abroad” – said the Marshal of the Senate, Tomasz Grodzki, on TOK FM.

The Last Meeting of Porozumienie's Authorities Was Eight Weeks Ago, So There's No Official Stance, but I'll Remind You That President Gowin Voted Twice for Postal Elections
- I haven't spoken with President Gowin recently. The last meeting of Porozumienie's authorities took place eight weeks ago, so there is no official stance from Porozumienie's authorities on this matter, but I will remind you that President Gowin voted twice for postal elections. Nearly two months ago, six weeks ago, when the law extending postal elections for seniors, which is currently in effect, was in the Polish parliament. President Gowin supported it twice. First in the Sejm, and then when it returned from the Senate - Adam Bielan said in an interview with Marcin Wikło on TVP1's "Political Quarter Hour".

Bielan:
Anyone who contributes to the government's fall and the fragmentation of the majority will make a fatal political mistake and bear responsibility for the stability of the political system.
- Representatives of the opposition are doing everything they can to break up the coalition. To shatter the United Right and thus bring about the fall of the government. As an opposition, they have the right to do so, although they have chosen the worst possible moment. Because if the government were to fall today, in the face of the health crisis we are experiencing worldwide, including in Poland, although Poland is managing it relatively best. Certainly better than Western European countries. In the face of the looming economic crisis, all those who contribute to the fall of the government and the fragmentation of the majority will make a fatal political mistake and will have the stability of our country's political system on their conscience. We cannot add a political crisis to the health and economic crisis - said Adam Bielan in an interview with Marcin Wikło on TVP1's "Political Quarter Hour".

Bielan:
I Don't Believe in a Majority Where Gowin is on One Side and Zandberg or Czarzasty on the Other
- These are MPs in their first term in parliament, so perhaps not everyone realizes what this kind of vote and a club split means. It simply means the government loses its majority and transitions to a minority government model, which has generally not proven successful in Polish history so far, or leads to accelerated parliamentary elections. Unless a different majority forms in this parliament, but I do not believe in a majority where Jarosław Gowin is on one side and Adrian Zandberg or Mr. Czarzasty is on the other - said Adam Bielan in a conversation with Marcin Wikło on TVP1's "Political Quarter Hour".
08:57
Bielan:
The Program Will Be Revealed Sooner, It Will Happen in the Coming Days
- We cannot organize a large program convention due to the regulations, the restrictions imposed by the Polish government, which we are adhering to. It is not possible to organize a meeting with such a number of people. However, such a program will be revealed sooner, it will happen in the coming days - said Adam Bielan in an interview with Marcin Wikło on TVP1's "Political Quarter Hour".

Kukiz:
I don't believe the election will happen on May 10th. I doubt PiS would push that hard
- I don't believe the [presidential] election will happen on May 10th. I doubt PiS would push that hard. Besides, the political landscape is changing so much right now that pushing for this election, for it to be held on May 10th, is in my opinion an anti-state, anti-citizen action - stated Paweł Kukiz in an interview with Konrad Piasecki on TVN24's "Rozmowa Piaseckiego" (Piasecki's Interview).

Lipiński:
Gowin Undermines the Consensus Holding the United Right Together
„Jarosław Gowin – everything indicates – is trying to build his own political force and I don’t find that surprising, but also his own political camp. This is a bit of a surprise because it puts the ruling camp in a rather uncomfortable situation. We don't entirely know what Jarosław Gowin wants to do. He has declared his willingness to cooperate with other opposition formations, and also to vote differently than we intend to vote, which means he is undermining a certain consensus that has held the United Right camp together” – said PiS Deputy Chairman Adam Lipiński on Radio Wrocław.
09:13
Lipiński:
I haven't spoken to Gowin recently, but I spoke with Kaczyński the day before yesterday. There's some discomfort regarding what Jarosław Gowin is doing.
“I will not speak for President Kaczyński and Prime Minister Morawiecki, but I don't think that what he [Jarosław Gowin] is saying in the media, what he is doing now, is in any way endorsed by our leaders. I haven't spoken to him recently, but I spoke with Jarosław Kaczyński the day before yesterday. There is some discomfort regarding what Jarosław Gowin is doing” - said PiS Vice-Chairman Adam Lipiński on Radio Wrocław.
09:14
Lipiński:
Gowin Doesn't Follow the Tradition of Centre Agreement Because We Were Very Loyal, and I See Elements of Disloyalty Here
"Unfortunately, [Gowin] doesn't follow the tradition of the Centre Agreement, because we were very loyal, and here I see some elements of disloyalty. I don't know what it stems from entirely – whether from personal ambitions, a political plan, or good intentions, a desire to help our formation in a rather turbulent way, but generally, we don't like it very much," said PiS Vice-Chairman Adam Lipiński on Radio Wrocław.
09:16
Kukiz:
I Disagree with Authoritarian Rule and Will Do Everything to Stop May Elections
- I disagree with an authoritarian way of exercising power, with this kind of coercion, and I will do everything, my circles and the circles of the Polish Coalition, and I suspect the entire rest of the opposition, and I hope also the circles of Porozumienie, to prevent these elections in May from happening. And this has no political aspect. It is simply a matter of humanity, dignity, and purely human concern for life, health, and the economy. These are the priorities, not whether Duda will be president or not - stated Paweł Kukiz in an interview with Konrad Piasecki on TVN24's "Rozmowa Piaseckiego".
09:17
Kukiz:
Many Things Will Be Decided This Week
- This will be a joint action by the majority, because I am convinced that the majority of people in Poland are like this, thinking people and people of goodwill. However, in specifics, it's hard to say. Every day at this moment, next week, in fact, many things will be decided this week, within days. I think it will be a joint action regardless of worldview, regardless of such matters. It is simply common-sense thinking. Authoritarianism in Poland must be halted, and as soon as this is achieved, we must return, which I also ask your station for, to a discussion about the state's systemic structure. For years I have been saying that we live in a system that allows individuals with certain phobias to exercise authoritarian rule. And it is not important whether it is President Kaczyński, or Donald Tusk, or anyone else. It is simply unacceptable that we live in a state where an individual can dictate to the entire state according to their moods and phobias - stated Paweł Kukiz in an interview with Konrad Piasecki on TVN24's "Rozmowa Piaseckiego".
09:17
Lipiński:
If Gowin Had Opted for 'Changing the Sejm Marshal' or 'Cooperation with the Opposition,' It Would Have Been a Highly Unfavorable Scenario and Meant Severing All Political Ties
„If Mr. Jarosław Gowin had opted for the scenario of 'changing the Sejm Marshal' or 'cooperation with the opposition,' that would have been a highly unfavorable scenario and would have meant severing all political ties. These are media reports. I don't want to judge them. Frankly, I have some doubts about it,” stated PiS Vice-Chairman Adam Lipiński in an interview with Radio Wrocław.
09:19
Lipiński:
Entering a Scenario of Sharp Confrontation with Law and Justice Must Have Consequences. This is Obvious. I Hope Gowin Will Not Lead to Such a Confrontation
"Entering a scenario of sharp confrontation with Law and Justice must have consequences. This is obvious. I hope Mr. Jarosław Gowin will not lead to such a confrontation. But if it were to happen, the consequences are far-reaching, including the fact that we will have to part ways with some politicians associated with Mr. Gowin, but with Mr. Gowin himself" - stated the Vice-Chairman of PiS, Adam Lipiński, on Radio Wrocław.
09:20
Lipiński:
Porozumienie Lacks History. History Creates Predictability in Politics. For Us, Porozumienie is Only Predictable Based on Gowin's Declarations. We Don't Know How Other MPs in This Formation Will Behave.
"The Porozumienie party, led by Mr. Gowin, lacks something very important. It lacks its own history. We don't fully know yet how the people associated with him will behave, how he himself will behave in the end, and so on. It doesn't have its own history, and that is very important in politics because it creates predictability for a given political formation. For us, this formation is currently predictable only within the framework of what Mr. Jarosław Gowin declares. We do not know how other MPs of this formation will behave" – said PiS Vice-Chairman Adam Lipiński on Radio Wrocław.
09:24
Lipiński:
Without Law and Justice, Mr. Gowin's Party Wouldn't Exist on the Political Scene
„We have the same right to talk as Mr. Gowin. Perhaps even significantly more, because, with all due respect, we are the leaders of this formation. Without Law and Justice, Mr. Gowin's party wouldn't exist on the political scene” - said PiS Vice-Chairman Adam Lipiński on Radio Wrocław.
09:36
Kukiz:
I greatly value and respect Prime Minister Gowin for building a dam and saying stop to authoritarianism. Our priority is to curb the further development of an authoritarian state.
09:42
Kukiz:
We Don't Have a Precise Plan to Unfreeze the Economy
- We don't have a precise plan to unfreeze the economy. The Czechs have practically day by day planned out how to emerge from these, let's say, domestic restrictions, how to release the economy as well, and which sectors. This is described in Sośnierz's plan, or similarly in Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz's 'Plan for Poland'. We need to examine regions, Poland, region by region, see where the threat is such, where it's smaller, where it's greater, which sector can operate, and which cannot. In the first instance, we should isolate individuals from risk groups. That is the fundamental thing. Not to lock everyone up in a ghetto, because locking everyone up in a ghetto always ends in tragedy - stated Paweł Kukiz in an interview with Konrad Piasecki on TVN24's 'Piasecki's Interview'.

Terlecki:
We're Assuming an Optimistic, Realistic Scenario Where Everything Works Out and the Elections Take Place. May 23rd is Legally Possible, but There's No Tradition of Saturday Elections. Sunday Would Be Better.
- Of course, the current [date of May 10th for holding the presidential elections]. We are still waiting, one might say impatiently, for the Senate to process the law that will organize these elections on May 10th. As soon as the Senate's processing period ends, which is 30 days, then of course the law will come into effect. If there are any changes or if it is rejected by the Senate, then the Sejm will have to accept or reject it. But we assume it will be accepted by the Sejm - stated Ryszard Terlecki on Radio Kraków.
- Something unforeseen can always happen. None of us foresaw this plague that is currently afflicting us. But we are, of course, assuming an optimistic, realistic scenario where everything works out and the elections take place. This date, a week later, is also in play - he continued.
- It [the date of May 23rd] is legally possible, however, there isn't really a tradition of holding elections on Saturdays in our country. So, I think it would be better to stick with Sunday. For now, we are sticking to the May 10th deadline and are not considering other possibilities, so to speak. We will see what the situation looks like after the Senate's deliberations - emphasized the Deputy Marshal of the Sejm.
10:02
Terlecki:
I Hope We Will Have a Secure Majority to Pass the Bill in the Sejm. If Not, We Will Have to Consider the Future of Cooperation with the Group Forming Porozumienie
- This is, of course, a hypothetical situation. I do not foresee that a group of MPs who ran on our lists would show such a lack of responsibility. I hope that reason and a sense of responsibility for the state will prevail, that it is extremely important for stabilizing the country's situation in the coming months, to conduct these elections, and that we will have that secure majority which will allow us to pass the bill in the Sejm. If not, then we would have to consider the future of cooperation with the group that forms Porozumienie - stated Ryszard Terlecki on Radio Kraków.
10:02
10:06
Terlecki:
Changing the Sejm Marshal is Out of the Question. We Will Not Agree to It. Therefore, the Topic, One Could Say, Does Not Exist
- At this moment, the MPs of Porozumienie are very strongly disassociating themselves from this idea, claiming that these are just rumors spread by the total opposition. I hope that's the case. Of course, changing the [Sejm] marshal is out of the question here. We will not agree to it. Therefore, the topic, one could say, does not exist. But indeed, such rumors or whispers have been circulating or did circulate, so we are firmly stating here that we will not agree to such a situation and Marshal Witek will remain the Marshal of the Sejm - stated Ryszard Terlecki on Radio Kraków.

The Law Proposed by the United Left Coalition Will Protect Polish Public Hospitals from 'Hyenas' Seeking to Parasitize on Their Problems and Buy Them Out for Pennies
- We are submitting a law to the Sejm that introduces one, simple change. It will delete dangerous provisions [from the Act of March 2, 2020, on special solutions related to the prevention, counteraction, and combating of COVID-19] from Article 56. This law has zero costs and provides one hundred percent protection for hospitals against privatization and commercialization. Public hospitals are, as Robert Biedroń said, on the front lines of the fight for our lives, for our health. This also means they are under immense pressure, and many of them may face economic difficulties in a few months. The law proposed by the United Left Coalition will protect Polish public hospitals from hyenas who would want to parasitize on their problems and simply buy them out for next to nothing - said Adrian Zandberg during a press conference.

Müller:
Media Reports on Limiting Employee Rights Will Not Be Reflected in the Government's Draft Project
Piotr Müller, the government spokesperson, has stated that media reports suggesting limitations on employee rights will not be part of the draft legislation that the government intends to adopt. This statement was made via a tweet on his official Twitter account, linking to a specific tweet from April 27, 2020, with the ID 1254703643833569281.
11:53
„The procedure employed by the Sejm not only violated Article 2 of the constitution, which speaks of a democratic state ruled by law, and from which the [Constitutional] Tribunal derives the principle of proper legislation and trust in the state and the law it enacts. One cannot have trust in law that is enacted in such a manner. Postal voting was first introduced into the Electoral Code in 2011 to a limited extent, expanded to all voters in 2014, and in 2018, the Sejm essentially removed this voting method entirely from the Code. The Senate then reinstated it, in principle, for disabled individuals” – stated former Chairman of the National Electoral Commission, retired Constitutional Tribunal judge Wojciech Hermeliński, during senatorial consultations on the universal postal voting act.

When We're Already Knocked Down by Government Incompetence and the Pandemic, Agriculture and Food Costs Will Deliver the Final Blow
- The investment program for trough retention, for water retention using weirs, various types of culverts, and gates, these are all things that should be done in cooperation with local governments on a much larger scale. Truly, the security of agricultural crops sometimes depends today on whether someone lifts, turns a valve, inserts a plank into a small hydrotechnical device. This should be happening now, because the consequence of inaction in this area will be food prices we haven't seen before. In August or September. Then, indeed, when we are already almost knocked down by the incompetence of this government, by the COVID epidemic, what will come from the agricultural sector and from the cost of food, which we will have to produce with great difficulty, will truly finish us off. The lack of manpower will also contribute to this, because Ukrainians will stay in their own country - said Szymon Hołownia during a press conference.

Hołownia:
If They Rig These Elections, There Won't Be Any More. They'll Realize It Can Be Done, They Already Know How to Play This Game. We'll Become Another Dictatorship
- We are today in a situation where we use tools from a world that no longer exists to describe the world. Six months ago, we could have said: we will boycott the elections, leave them to it, let them play their game, and in the next elections, we will show them, let the cup overflow. If they rig these elections now, there won't be any next elections. They will realize that it can be done, that they already know how to play this game. We will turn into another dictatorship - said Szymon Hołownia during a press conference.

- When we talk about the fight against the coronavirus, it becomes very clear how well public healthcare is performing in this regard, how important it is for public healthcare to exist, so that everyone has equal access to healthcare services, and for this access to be as widespread as possible, meaning that the existence of public healthcare should be as numerous as possible in the sense that every citizen, regardless of whether they live in a city, a smaller town, or a village, has the greatest possible access. This access, this possibility of treatment, even in the most difficult cases, is provided by none other than public healthcare. We have been talking about this a lot lately, and unfortunately, many people, perhaps even patients, can see firsthand that if we didn't have public healthcare today, if it had been fully commercialized and privatized over the past few years, who knows what access to healthcare would look like today. I am saying this because we have the situation we have. We are fighting this epidemic, the coronavirus pandemic, in our country today, not just worldwide, but we also must wage an active fight. I look at this also through the prism of what has happened over the last dozen or so years, and I will remind you that these ideas, primarily from Civic Platform, from Donald Tusk's government, to commercialize and privatize Polish healthcare were very strong even when Professor Lech Kaczyński was president. At that time, the President strongly opposed commercialization that would lead to privatization. He demanded a referendum on this matter. I then had the great honor of defending public healthcare in the Polish Senate, together with the late Zbigniew Religa. It was a memorable time that I will never forget. That stance of Professor Lech Kaczyński for public healthcare, for universal access to healthcare services, regardless of the wealth of one's wallet, equally for every citizen, and for the patient to be truly prioritized, with a strong emphasis that none other than public healthcare guarantees that the patient is prioritized, meaning not business, not making a profit, but treating is the most important thing, and only public healthcare guarantees this. Nothing has changed in this regard since those times. Professor Religa defended this, the President stood with him, and by his side was the Minister of Health, such an incredibly experienced professor defending patients' rights, these fundamental principles - stated President Andrzej Duda.
- Today, what we have in Poland and in the world clearly shows, especially here at home, how important public healthcare is, that everything must be done to ensure it endures and thrives. Therefore, as we are currently in the presidential election campaign and I am running in these elections, I want to state very clearly, also referring to that situation, those memories, that as long as I am president, there will be no question of expanding commercialization, and consequently, the privatization of healthcare, and that the number of public healthcare facilities, where every citizen is treated equally and everyone is treated when needed, will not decrease. Of course, I have nothing against private healthcare. Please, let new private healthcare facilities be established, but not as a result of transforming or liquidating public facilities and creating private ones in their place, where another factor, perhaps beyond protecting citizens' lives and the patient as the greatest good, would be the determinant. I commit to this and will soon sign a relevant declaration in this regard, because this message has accompanied me for many, many years, from which I will never back down, and which now, on the threshold of another presidential election and another five-year presidential term, which I hope will begin soon, I emphasize once again and want to guarantee again with my signature - PAD continued.

Many MPs, including those from Gowin's movement and PiS, see the May 10th election as an absurdity
„Many MPs, including those associated with Mr. Gowin's movement, as well as from PiS, see that the May 10th elections are an absurdity. It's putting people's lives at risk. I cannot imagine that Minister Szumowski's desk does not have a report on what happened in Bavaria. I hope that this report has been analyzed and will warn the government against taking such a dramatic step in Poland” – said Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska, Civic Coalition's presidential candidate and Deputy Marshal, at a press conference on drought in the municipality of Załuski.

Kosiniak-Kamysz:
Liquidity Fund is Crucial for Poland's Economic Recovery, Unlike Government's Proposed Tarcza 3.0
WKK: Many European countries have already introduced liquidity funds and their economies are starting to emerge from the crisis. Ours will not emerge from the crisis without a liquidity fund.
- When the Prime Minister and the head of the National Bank of Poland spoke about another iteration of the anti-crisis shield, Tarcza 3.0, before the holidays, they mentioned a liquidity fund. And many of us welcomed this news with joy. Employers welcomed it with joy and gratitude, as did employees, because liquidity for a company guarantees salary payments. Liquidity for a company guarantees further orders. Liquidity for a company guarantees that this company will survive. If there is no liquidity, no cash flow, it will be impossible to maintain jobs. We all know this, but it seems the government has forgotten. In the weeks since the declaration of a liquidity fund until today, we still haven't seen Tarcza 3.0 presented, and if it is to be presented with the assumptions and ideas we read about today, it is completely unacceptable. Prime Minister Morawiecki, please do not send such a bill to the Sejm that allows people to be fired via email, which grants enormous powers, not for saving jobs, but for their liquidation and the reduction of salaries. This is an unacceptable bill. We must state this clearly and unequivocally. Tarcza 3.0 must include a liquidity fund, an unlimited credit line from BGK giving companies a chance to survive. Many European countries have already introduced liquidity funds and their economies are starting to emerge from the crisis. Ours will not emerge from the crisis without a liquidity fund. We do not agree to such treatment of employees - stated Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz at a briefing in the Sejm.
14:37
WKK:
Let the President Immediately Answer: Will He Sign a Bill That Allows Email Dismissals, Easy Salary Reductions, Reduced Working Hours, and Lowered Wages?
- If such solutions landed on my desk as president, I would never sign off on employee dismissals via email. I would never sign off on dismissing employees during a crisis instead of saving jobs. And my question to Andrzej Duda is, because today he is trying to introduce topics that do not function, do not exist. In reality, they privatized healthcare themselves and are probably very ashamed of it, because during their rule, queues lengthened in most specialties. There was a study that clearly shows that in 26 specialties, queues lengthened, in 13 they didn't change, and only in 4 did they shorten. And what did Polish patients do? They had to seek private medical treatment. And this happened during their rule, so today let them not throw blame around or tell fairy tales, but let the president immediately answer the question: will he sign a bill that allows employee dismissals via email, will he sign a bill that easily allows salary reductions, reduces employee working hours, and lowers wages? This is a test of the president's credibility, or is it solely a smokescreen and an occupation with topics that don't exist today, while a colossal crisis and problem exists? Will it be, as always, a thoughtless acceptance of what PiS has presented - stated Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz at a briefing in the Sejm.
14:43
WKK:
We Expect Immediate Plans to Unfreeze Hospitals and Ensure Access for Other Patients
- We expect immediate plans to unfreeze hospitals and ensure access for other patients, not just those with COVID-19 or infected with coronavirus. Their safety is very important today, but other patients also need diagnostics and treatment. This must happen immediately - stated Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz at a briefing in the Sejm.

Nitras:
The Civic Coalition Club Does Not Accept Further Parliamentary Work in its Current Form. We Demand Changes
Sławomir Nitras, a prominent figure within the Civic Coalition (KO), has declared that the parliamentary club will not tolerate the continuation of legislative work in its present manner. He emphasized that the KO is demanding significant reforms to the way parliamentary proceedings are conducted.
The statement, shared via Twitter (https://twitter.com/SlawomirNitras/status/1254776824908746752), indicates a firm stance from the opposition party regarding the functioning of the Sejm (Polish Parliament).
While the exact nature of the "changes" demanded by the KO is not fully detailed in the provided snippet, the tone suggests a call for increased transparency, adherence to established procedures, or perhaps a fundamental reconsideration of the legislative agenda and its implementation. The assertion that the current form of parliamentary work is "not accepted" implies a deep dissatisfaction with the existing practices and a strong push for their overhaul.

- Since the Polish People's Party (PSL) decided to form the Polish Coalition with the aforementioned Kukiz, as well as the Union of European Democrats, and with local government representatives, it has been transforming into a nationwide party. Currently, in many places, including in repeat or subsequent local elections, it is clearly visible that societal faith in a normal, centrist, moderate political force is growing - said Grzegorz Sawicki in an interview with Adrian Klarenbach on Polish Radio 24.

Platforma is demanding that the Marshal of the Sejm increase the number of MPs who can participate in sessions in the parliamentary chamber. In a letter to Elżbieta Witek, Borys Budka writes: "According to information available to the club, the seating area of the plenary hall is approximately 800 m2. Assuming that, in accordance with government guidelines, there may be 1 person per 15m2 in commercial facilities and places of religious worship, on behalf of the Parliamentary Club Civic Coalition - Civic Platform, Nowoczesna, Inicjatywa Polska, Zieloni, we inform Madam Marshal that we do not accept this form of organizing the work of MPs in the Sejm and such a drastic limitation of our participation in plenary sessions."
Platforma claims that, according to government guidelines, over 50 MPs could be present in the plenary hall during a Sejm session: "Even if the most drastic form of limiting the number of MPs in the Plenary Hall were applied, by analogy to the provisions of the Council of Ministers' regulation of April 19, 2020, concerning the establishment of specific restrictions, orders, and prohibitions in connection with the occurrence of an epidemic state, over 50 MPs could participate in the Plenary Hall session! Today, due to Madam Marshal's decision, several times fewer people can be present in the Plenary Hall than in a similar area in places of religious worship and commercial facilities."
Platforma believes that the Marshal is preventing MPs from performing their duties: "Therefore, it must be concluded that Madam Marshal's actions, aimed at a drastic, unjustified limitation of the number of MPs participating in the Sejm session, may also aim to restrict the exercise of rights and obligations arising from the provisions of the Act of May 9, 1996, concerning the exercise of the mandate of a Member of Parliament and Senator. Additionally, participation in Sejm sessions using means of distance communication is one of the options for participating in deliberations, not an obligation for a parliamentarian to participate only through the form of parliamentary activity indicated by the Marshal of the Sejm."

The Sejm is scheduled to address, among other things, a government bill proposing amendments to certain acts regarding protective measures against the spread of the CARS-CoV-2 virus on Wednesday – according to the session schedule seen by 300POLITYKA. The first reading is slated for 12:00 PM, and the second reading at 9:00 PM. The bill is expected to be adopted the following day, during a voting block between 1:30 PM and 3:30 PM.
Also on the agenda is a government report on measures being taken to enable Poles residing in border areas, both within the Republic of Poland and abroad, to work in Poland and neighboring countries. Additionally, the first reading of a government bill on granting public aid to save or restructure entrepreneurs is scheduled.
Following this, a recess will be declared on Thursday until May 5th, when the first reading of another government bill will take place – concerning subsidies for bank loan interest rates provided to ensure financial liquidity for entrepreneurs affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. The second reading is planned for May 6th, during which the Sejm will also vote on amendments/a motion to reject the mail-in voting bill within a voting block between 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM.
It's worth noting that the Sejm session has been divided into two parts – two days this week (Wednesday and Thursday, April 29-30) and two days next week (Tuesday and Wednesday, May 5-6). This allows PiS to potentially block any potential vote for the dismissal of the Marshal of the Sejm, at least temporarily. The regulations state that consideration of a motion and its submission to a vote occurs at the first Sejm session following the expiry of 7 days from its submission, but no later than 45 days from the date of submission. This means a vote (should such a motion be filed) would only happen at the next session, and a recess could be declared for subsequent days.
UPDATE: In the current version of the schedule, the point concerning the mail-in voting is still planned for May 6th, but a voting block may also take place on May 7th if the Senate sends over a resolution at the last minute.

- Mr. Adam Szłapka first chaired Nowoczesna, then was a bankruptcy trustee, and now he's a bankruptcy trustee as Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska's campaign spokesperson - said Jan Kanthak in an interview with Piotr Witwicki on Polsat News's "Wydarzenia i Opinie" program.

The Only Solution is to Introduce a State of Natural Disaster. We Will Return to the Electoral Process After the State Ends, Plus 90 Days. It's Obvious that KO's Candidate Will Be Kidawa-Błońska
- The only constitutional way to resolve all of this is to introduce a state of natural disaster. A state of natural disaster simply halts this [electoral] process, and we will return to it after the state of natural disaster ends, plus 90 days. It is obvious that the Civic Coalition's candidate will be Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska - said Adam Szłapka in an interview with Piotr Witwicki on the program "Events and Opinions" on Polsat News.

„The EPP, like the OSCE and the Council of Europe, clearly expresses its position on pseudo-elections that would take place by correspondence. I think Donald Tusk, who knows the situation in Poland perfectly, will want to refer to it. We discussed this during our meeting last week” - said the Civic Platform leader, Borys Budka, in an interview with Grzegorz Kajdanowicz on „Fakty po Faktach” on TVN24.

Budka:
To the rejection of postal voting in the Sejm, besides the opposition, 5-6 more votes are needed from the other side, and I am encouraging and persuading Gowin and his representatives to this
"I am convinced that this is a zero-one choice. It is a choice between fair, democratic, and safe elections and an electoral farce that the current government is serving. Jarosław Gowin has already made one gesture. He has left this bad government, but a clear, legible declaration is needed, not in words, but in the form of a concrete vote. If the Senate proposes the rejection of postal voting, then in the Sejm, in addition to the votes of the opposition, which voted unanimously on this matter, we need another 5-6 votes from the other side, and it is precisely to this that I am encouraging and persuading Jarosław Gowin and his representatives, that they must be on the bright side of the force" - said PO chairman Borys Budka on TVN24.
20:14
"There has been no final declaration yet. Jarosław Gowin is also talking about the variant of constitutional change that he proposed. I am to a painful degree honest in these conversations. I believe that Jarosław Kaczyński signed this project because he knows perfectly well that a 2-year term extension for Andrzej Duda is absolutely impossible from the opposition's perspective," said PO leader Borys Budka on TVN24.

May 7th Will Show if the Current Government Still Holds a Parliamentary Majority or Has Lost It
"Unlike the other side, we are not engaged in persuading anyone by offering them anything. We say it's about values and democratic rules. Jarosław Gowin, who opposes the elections in May this year, clearly stating it is unacceptable, made the first move. He resigned from his position as Deputy Prime Minister. Today, it is important to convince his colleagues, the people from Porozumienie, to stand on the side of safe, fair elections. Later, all possible scenarios will open up, but that will be after May 7th, when it becomes clear whether the current government still has a majority in parliament or has lost it," said PO leader Borys Budka on TVN24.

Sikorski:
Gowin Would Have Managed and Been a Marshal Who Adhered to the Rules. Moreover, If There Were No Elections, Gowin Would Have Been Head of State from August 7th.
- As a former Marshal, I believe Gowin would have managed and been a Marshal who adhered to the regulations, thus ending the revolutionary, and often unlawful, unconstitutional changing of legislation, and he would have been the element that Andrzej Duda does not provide in the political system, i.e., a stabilizer. Furthermore, if there were no elections, Gowin would have been the head of state from August 7th, performing the duties of the president, and I believe it would have been beneficial for Polish democracy and for halting this right-wing Bolshevik revolution – said Radosław Sikorski in an interview with Monika Olejnik on the program “Kropka nad i” on TVN24.
20:31
- He probably never really had 18, because Adam Bielan, for example, today's press reports that he convinced the President of the necessity of May elections. Which is, by the way, puzzling, because if the government press claims that President Duda has such a crushing advantage, would he lose it in three months? - said Radosław Sikorski in an interview with Monika Olejnik on the program "Kropka nad i" on TVN24.
20:38
- Once Warsaw was a cradle and a democratic hub. Observers from Warsaw used to travel around the world. Now, there's no way to even send observers. The fact that the OSCE is saying this [critical stance on the elections in Poland] is a very strong message. Similar messages used to be directed at Belarus, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan. We've found ourselves in such company – said Radosław Sikorski in an interview with Monika Olejnik on the TVN24 program “Kropka nad i”.
20:43
- I know, but I won't tell. For many of us, Donald Tusk, who held the highest political and international office in Poland's history and won against Jarosław Kaczyński perhaps seven times, is an authority, so it seems to me that this will resonate with many people, and it seems to me that Tusk cares, just like all of us, that the president in Poland has authority and is democratically elected, and the May elections cannot be democratic – said Radosław Sikorski in an interview with Monika Olejnik on the TVN24 program “Kropka nad i”.

"Tupolewizm" Meant Flying Recklessly and Dozens Died. Now They're Going Recklessly into These Elections and Thousands Could Die.
- This is "Tupolewizm." "Tupolewizm" meant flying recklessly, and dozens of people died. Now they are going recklessly into these elections, and thousands could die. Every additional death resulting from these elections will be on the conscience of Kaczyński and PiS – said Radosław Sikorski in an interview with Monika Olejnik on the TVN24 program “Kropka nad i”.

I'm just advising my colleagues who currently cannot resist Kaczyński's pressure: Gentlemen, get all instructions in writing, because if people die, there will be no mercy. Illegal, legally unfounded orders must not be executed – said Radosław Sikorski in an interview with Monika Olejnik on the TVN24 program „Kropka nad i”.
