Today, the government is set to present an update on the situation in schools, as well as the next stage of regulatory changes, as announced yesterday by Michał Dworczyk. - Tomorrow, the Prime Minister will present further information concerning both educational matters and possibly the next stage of regulatory changes introduced due to the coronavirus - stated the Head of the Prime Minister's Chancellery on Polsat News.

As we reported on 300POLITYCE, at 1:00 PM, a meeting will take place between the leader of SLD, Włodzimierz Czarzasty, and the leader of PSL, Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz. The discussion is expected to primarily focus on the current political situation, including topics related to the coronavirus and the issue of presidential elections. Our sources emphasize that a key matter to be addressed during the meeting will be the law on postal voting, which awaits consideration by the Senate. The opposition will not reject the PiS proposal nor introduce amendments without the votes of senators from Lewica and PSL.

- Today, information primarily concerning schools will be announced, as this is information that I believe students, parents, and teachers are most eagerly awaiting. However, decisions regarding economic matters, let's put it broadly, will be presented at the beginning of next week, once all data on the number of infections following the 'thawing' decisions from the first stage has been collected - stated Piotr Müller in an interview with Krzysztof Skórzyński on TVN24's "Jeden na jeden".

- Today, information will be provided regarding the extension of the closure of educational facilities, and today we will also learn the specific dates for the exams, so the situation concerning the exams will also be clear and everyone will know when to prepare for them - stated Piotr Müller in a conversation with Krzysztof Skórzyński on TVN24's "Jeden na jeden".

- Yes, today the information concerning the schedule for the matriculation exams and the eighth-grade exams will be published, so that it will actually be possible to prepare. We announced that we would provide this in advance, and today such information will be given so that everyone can prepare, but the details and the specific schedule will be presented today by Minister Piontkowski at a press conference - the government spokesperson continued. The press conference is scheduled to take place around noon.

“If we look at what we have been observing recently, even in the trends presented by various opinion polls, it is evident that – to paraphrase – the candidate has not been successful. Everything is now being done to prevent the elections from taking place on May 10th, but rather to postpone them to the latest possible date, and at the same time to try and fix what seems to be a wrong decision regarding the candidate of this formation”, said Krzysztof Sobolewski from Law and Justice (PiS) on Radio Jedynka.

- The decision regarding the specific date for launching this [second] stage will be presented after the data concerning the number of infections, which appeared in connection with the launch of the first stage, is received. We must approach this responsibly, which is why it will be the beginning of next week. On Monday, the first data will arrive a week after the lifting of restrictions on movement or the opening of some places that were previously closed, and then this information will be communicated. If the situation were similar to what we see now, this information will be positive, and this stage will be launched quite quickly. This information will be conveyed at the beginning of next week - stated Piotr Müller in an interview with Krzysztof Skórzyński on TVN24's "Jeden na jeden".

- I can say that next week, the specific date concerning the unfreezing of this second stage, hopefully expanded, will be announced - the government spokesman continued.

“From a political perspective on this [Civic Platform] proposal, in my opinion, it is heading in this direction. Especially since yesterday's poll, where the Civic Platform candidate has support within the statistical error margin, has only, I believe, strengthened the proponents of the proposal in the correctness of what they are doing, which also includes changing the candidate” – said Krzysztof Sobolewski from PiS on Jedynka radio.

- There are sectors of the economy that are not slowing down, and construction is one of them. We want the pace of work not to decrease, for it to remain on this growth path, the one we are observing. Therefore, to avoid experiencing any turbulence there, we are changing certain rules in public procurement law so that contractors can renegotiate agreements with contracting authorities more easily and freely – Jadwiga Emilewicz said in an interview with Marcin Fijołek on Poranek Siódma9.

- We are seeing that in April, the influx of unemployed people in the last few days has amounted to approximately 30,000. For the entire month, we will know this at the beginning of May, this number could exceed 950,000 people. - We also realize that the unemployment benefit, the raising of which was not justified because we had golden years for employees, may now have to be increased in this situation - added the Deputy Prime Minister.

- There are analysts and teams who say we will be above zero, that we have a chance to end this year with growth above zero, there are even those who speak of a 1.9% GDP growth, and there are those, much more pessimistic, who say it could be below zero, even around -4.5% GDP. - However, if local governments and the opposition are obstructing, then they are hindering, throwing obstacles in our way, so we will postpone. And what will they do in August? The same. - These moves are incomprehensible to me. One could say that Representative [Jarosław Gowin] seems to have lost his way a bit. It all depends on what happens next. - Through what may be fake accounts, signed as Poczta Polska (Polish Post), emails are being sent to local government authorities demanding the disclosure of our personal data. I remind you, personal data that is constitutionally protected, because we have the right to our privacy. Today, under the cover of darkness, this government, this authority, pushing forward towards these elections, is trying to seize our data. And what guarantee do we have that this data will not be sold, for example, to telemarketers? Or leaked to foreign intelligence? Today, Russian intelligence, today every intelligence agency in the world is applauding and rejoicing that the Polish, foolish government is trying to extract and reveal this data this way – said Robert Biedroń during a press conference.

- For several days now, we have been witnessing a kind of anarchy in the functioning of the most important state institutions. This, unfortunately, is how the current government's dismantling of the state manifests in practice. Without any legal basis, attempts are being made to extract data from local government officials, voter registers, and also, when independent prosecutors try to stand up for citizens, their superiors, without any proper procedure, decide to dismiss the proceedings. Unfortunately, PiS's dismantling of the state is reaching unimaginable proportions. Against the law, against common sense, there are attempts to force presidential elections, against the law, there are attempts to compel local government officials to hand over personal data to the anonymous Polish Post, and also, against any principles, within three hours, proceedings are being dismissed simply because a prosecutor might demand the questioning of individuals who, today, in defiance of the health and lives of Poles, are pushing for elections. It must be stated clearly: everyone who breaks the law, everyone who tries to act in this manner, will be held accountable. But it must also be stated clearly and shown, and thanks should be given to every official, local government representative, prosecutor, who, not fearing personal consequences, stands up in defense of the rule of law and citizens. They show that the law is more important than the unlawful actions of this government. And today, the best example of how to act in difficult times was the decision of a certain prosecutor, who initiated proceedings because decency and the law require it – stated Borys Budka at a briefing in the Sejm.

- Today, our local government officials are an example of standing on the side of the law and citizens. Local government officials, often without any party affiliations, coming from various backgrounds, say: we will not agree to the breaking of the law. And today, it is important for Poles to see that opposing lawlessness will always pay off, even if there is a temporary threat of reprisals from this government, it is worth being decent. And today, we should showcase the example of that prosecutor and the local government officials as people who act and stand on the side of citizens, often acting at the risk of their own professional careers, they may face consequences because this government will stop at nothing, but acting in accordance with the law and acting according to the principle of decency is more important to them. And this should be shown as a model for people who are not afraid of this government. Today, anyone who wants to conduct postal elections contrary to current regulations, anyone who calls on local government administration bodies to act unlawfully, is violating the law. Today, everyone who acts in this way is subject to criminal liability for official offenses, and this must be emphasized. And an appeal must also be made to all decent officials: behave responsibly, do not be afraid of the consequences, because sooner or later, people who call for breaking the law, who break the law, will be held accountable – continued the PO chairman.

- The Left has concrete demands for entrepreneurs. Firstly, it's about job retention. A 75% subsidy for maintaining every job from the government. This is so that these jobs can continue to function, so that people don't get laid off when they return to their workplaces after a long break. The second point is the urgent establishment of a grant fund to support entrepreneurs who urgently need concrete cash right now. This cash, as in other countries, must reach the accounts of these small entrepreneurs today. The third point is, of course, the abolition of tax burdens, as well as ZUS (Social Insurance Institution) contributions for a period of six months. This must be a cushion that will allow entrepreneurs to plan their future calmly. To not be afraid that they will soon declare bankruptcy. This is a very important initiative that exists in many countries, but has not yet been implemented in Poland. And the last point, of course, is subsidies for all fixed costs for six months, such as rent, leasing, and utilities – said Robert Biedroń during a press conference. 

Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska, a prominent figure in Polish politics, has publicly criticized Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki's approach to organizing the upcoming presidential elections. Today I want to announce that as part of parliamentary oversight, Koalicja Obywatelska (Civic Coalition) parliamentarians will demand to see in specific offices whether a formal decision by the Prime Minister exists regarding the authorization of Poczta Polska (Polish Post) for specific actions, or if we are once again dealing with an illegal act. This is very important, and we will be taking such actions - stated Borys Budka at a briefing in the Sejm.

"I will speak daily about issues important to Poles, which the government ignores. For us, the lives of Poles are truly important; for the government, it's the elections" - said Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska, Deputy Marshal and candidate for President of the Republic from the Civic Coalition, at a press conference.

- We have set quite distant and quite safe dates, and the final decision will be made together with the Minister of Health, depending on how the epidemic situation develops. So, we will start with the matriculation exams. They will begin on June 8th with the Polish language exam, and then in the following days, exams in subsequent subjects, until the end of June. We would like this year, due to the special epidemic situation, for them not to have an oral part. They will be solely written matriculation exams. From June 16th to 18th, we plan to conduct exams for eighth-graders. From June 22nd, exams confirming professional qualifications will begin, and then in mid-August, vocational exams for students of post-secondary schools, so that they can complete their internships - he continued.

- We plan that along with the supplementary date, the eighth-grade exam can be graded by the end of July, and then students will be able to submit certificates and exam result confirmations to the secondary schools of their choice. Regarding the matriculation exams, we also foresee a supplementary exam for those who, for various health or random reasons, will not be able to participate in the exam on the first date. So that this supplementary exam can take place at the beginning of July, and then we anticipate that by approximately August 11th, it will be possible to announce the results of the matriculation exams. Those who would like to retake them could do so at the beginning of September - the minister assured.

- We had Easter holidays, and thanks to the fact that Poles acted exceptionally responsibly and stayed in their homes, we did not observe a significant, large increase in cases after this event, the major event that is the Easter holidays. Thanks to this, we were able to recently announce the first easing of these restrictions, which were very difficult and burdensome for everyone, but as I said, necessary, essential to prevent the number of cases from rising sharply. In the coming days, we will be gathering information on the effect that lifting these restrictions has had on the course of the epidemic. We already see people moving around in forests and parks, engaging in sports, and we will communicate what comes next. The important information for today is that, just as with the first regulations concerning the didactic process, we are maintaining full consistency with the Ministry of National Education, meaning May 24th as the date for the suspension of all didactic activities is also extremely important - said Wojciech Murdzek during a press conference. 

- Of course, such far-reaching predictions are very difficult and I think they are burdened with a huge risk of error, because we know that small changes today result in big changes in a month or two, but unfortunately, all data also indicates that there will certainly be a seasonal increase in flu cases in the Northern Hemisphere in the autumn, and there is no data to suggest that the COVID virus will disappear by then. Consequently, we will certainly struggle with a double illness, a double number of patients, and it may be a difficult period - said Łukasz Szumowski at a press conference at the Chancellery of the Prime Minister (KPRM).

- I handed over a copy of the April 16th decision to the Civic Platform MPs. We have nothing to hide and we always act in accordance with current regulations. I would like to ask why this is happening on the very last possible day? Having been confined for many weeks, in home quarantine, we are receiving numerous signals that this is becoming a completely unbearable reality. We will have to look after these school-aged children not only from an educational or physical health perspective as they emerge from quarantine, but a mental health problem will arise for these children who have spent so much time without their peer group, without education, confined to their homes during home quarantine and lockdowns - stated Szymon Hołownia at a press briefing in front of the Sejm.

I was just talking to women who live in the border zone, women who had to make very difficult decisions. Whether to work and be separated from their families for many weeks, or stay with their children and lose their jobs. It is true that a border is a defined line, but this border does not protect us from the coronavirus. Many of these people are 200, 300 meters from their workplaces. Solely because such a decision was made, they cannot work normally or be with their families. They have to make very dramatic decisions. The government, when deciding to close the borders, gave them two days for this. It was impossible to choose between a workplace or a place to stay with family in two days. Today these people are protesting, they have no support. The government talks about moving forward and returning to our normal lives, but it doesn't say when these people will be able to return to work or return to their families - Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska said during a press conference. Today they will protest because no one from the government helped them. No one is talking to them. Local government officials are appealing for help, they are looking for solutions. These people can be tested - added the presidential candidate.

Unfortunately, we are still in an upward trend of the epidemic, although this upward trend is much slower than we predicted - stated Łukasz Szumowski in an interview with Bogdan Rymanowski on Polsat News' "Gość Wydarzeń" program.

We have studies, forecasts. Of course, there are many such models, and each research group creating a model adopts slightly different assumptions. We know this is very similar to weather forecasting, that is, predicting the course of a very complex process with limited data. And the forecasts indicate that through this isolation we've implemented, through the fact that we stayed home during Easter holidays, and thanks to this, we have no post-holiday surge in infections, we are pushing this peak of infections further and further. Now, autumn is increasingly being discussed – September, October, November. Of course, there are forecasts that suggest the peak will be earlier, but the ones I receive from quite reputable research teams speak of a later peak. And it's probable that this pandemic will accompany us. Let's hope that thanks to these rules of social distancing, wearing masks in public, these increases will be slow – stated Łukasz Szumowski in an interview with Bogdan Rymanowski on Polsat News's "Gość Wydarzeń".

I have no idea [if postal elections will take place on May 10th]. Because we know that the process is currently in the Senate, the legislative process, and I don't know when the act will be released. I know one thing: constitutionally, we have the deadline of May 10th, and on the other hand, I also know that from my perspective as Minister of Health, conducting traditional elections is unacceptable - stated Łukasz Szumowski in an interview with Bogdan Rymanowski on Polsat News' "Gość Wydarzeń" (Guest of Events). - Certainly [postal elections] are safer than traditional elections. Whether they will take place in May, or in August, or September, or October, or whenever in the near future, within the next two years, regardless of when, they will be subject to the same certain rigors, and that is why I am not talking about a specific date. I am talking about the process. I am not dodging the question. I said directly and clearly: the only safe form of election is one held in 2 years. If that is impossible, then the safest form must be chosen. Postal voting is definitely safer than traditional voting - the Minister of Health continued.

It would be best to postpone the elections by two years. My party, Porozumienie, and I have prepared a draft constitutional amendment for this purpose. We are not yet approaching the realization of this plan, but that doesn't mean we should raise the white flag now, because the deadline of May 6th, meaning the vote in the Senate, May 7th, the vote in the Sejm, and most importantly, as Minister Szumowski rightly noted, the constitutional deadline of May 10th, is approaching, and I hope the sense of responsibility on the part of all participants in political life will grow - said Jarosław Gowin in an interview with Bogdan Rymanowski on the program "Wydarzenia i Opinie" on Polsat News.

- I am furious that we politicians are preoccupied with the election date. Today is the most tragic day since the start of the epidemic, 40 people have died. All parties and groups must set aside their immediate political disputes and do everything together to prevent the safety of our compatriots from being gambled with in the midst of a pandemic. Ladies and Gentlemen!

Our great countryman, John Paul II, said: "The homeland is our earthly mother. Poland is a special mother. Her history is not easy, especially over the past centuries. She is a mother who has suffered much and continues to suffer anew." Today, our homeland is once again experiencing such suffering.

On behalf of the Senate of the Republic and myself, I would like to express immense gratitude, thanks, and admiration for our great nation for how it is rising to the challenge during this very difficult time of plague for all of us. Many of you are sewing masks and gowns, and scientists are intensely working on effective therapies and a vaccine. Restaurateurs are delivering meals to hospitals. Hotels are providing accommodation for healthcare workers who are risking their health and lives on the front lines of the fight against the epidemic, and fearing for their loved ones, they are not returning to their homes for many days.

There are many such examples of mutual support. We are all trying to endure the restrictive limitations, understanding that it is a necessary part of the fight against the pandemic, and at the same time dreaming that the nightmare of the plague will end as soon as possible. However, the attacks on medical personnel that appear in the public sphere are worthy of condemnation. I bow my head to the doctors, nurses, paramedics, diagnosticians, pharmacists, and everyone who is saving the health and lives of Poles with dedication and devotion.

The world and Poland are changing before our eyes. We need a new approach and a re-evaluation of life – including political life. Given the dramatic situation, there is no more important matter than mobilizing the entire financial, organizational, intellectual, and legislative potential of the state to effectively combat the virus. This is what the senators of the democratic majority are guided by.

The ruling party, on the other hand, has announced that they intend to hold presidential elections on May 10, in a postal voting format, even though the entire world is postponing various elections to later dates. Some government representatives and some media outlets accuse the Senate of maliciously delaying the consideration of the postal voting bill. I state with full force that this is untrue. This important bill rushed through the Sejm thoughtlessly in 4 hours, which is why in the Senate, within the constitutionally granted 30 days, we are doing what the Sejm did not: we have requested opinions from, among others, the National Electoral Commission, the Commissioner for Human Rights, the Supreme Court, epidemiologists, and postal workers. Many of these opinions have already arrived and are overwhelmingly critical. Local government officials point to legal violations related to the disclosure of voter lists to Poczta Polska. Poles abroad are protesting, as in many places they fear being deprived of the opportunity to vote. How can anyone claim that concern for the health and lives of compatriots and for democratic and constitutional elections is maliciousness? It is completely absurd.

Organizing elections at the peak of the epidemic means endangering the lives and health of Poles. Even setting aside concerns about election fraud and the fact that conducting postal elections is not safe, as studies confirm that the virus can remain active on paper for over 24 hours, and the most distinguished Polish epidemiologists point to numerous health risks associated with election activities involving tens of thousands of people – but the most important thing is something else.

Through the enormous effort of the nation, which is accepting drastic limitations in the name of an effective fight against the virus, we are trying to defeat the pandemic as quickly as possible. We worry about whether our children, grandchildren, parents, and grandparents will be healthy and survive, whether we will not be condemned to meager incomes, and whether we will not lose our jobs. Doctors, nurses, paramedics, lab technicians, pharmacists worry if they will receive adequate protective equipment, they tremble at the thought that they might pay the highest price for fighting for the lives and health of the sick. A painful sense of uncertainty about the future accompanies us every day now. These are our daily worries and concerns, not elections, which, as the experience of other countries shows, held during a pandemic contribute to an explosion of infections.

Our homeland was born from dreams, from the dreams of our predecessors about a democratic, free Republic, because everything begins with dreams. - The elections on May 10th cannot take place due to the opposition of local governments. From the very beginning, I pointed this out to our partners in the United Right – that the postal elections on May 10th could only be carried out under the assumption of good, close, and very dynamic cooperation with local governments - said Jarosław Gowin in a conversation with Bogdan Rymanowski on the program "Wydarzenia i Opinie" on Polsat News.

- To my knowledge, local government officials have the right, according to regulations, to appeal to administrative courts. Consequently, these appeals shift the deadlines in such a way that May 10th is impossible - added the former Deputy Prime Minister.

- He is neither a devil nor an angel. But he is definitely a trickster. When I look for answers on how to talk to Jarosław Gowin today, I know one thing. He betrayed Tusk, he betrayed Kaczyński, and he will betray the opposition - said Krzysztof Gawkowski in an interview with Bogdan Rymanowski on the program "Wydarzenia i Opinie" (Events and Opinions) on Polsat News.

In this vote [on postal elections] we will be voting with Jarosław Gowin. In this specific vote. We as The Left expect, we will do everything to make this vote decisive. If Jarosław Gowin votes with us, and we with Jarosław Gowin, then it will be very good for Polish democracy. You ask me if this is possible. I am afraid not. - We clearly stated that the elections should not take place, but if PiS sets up a table where you have to play with marked cards, and these cards were dealt by crooks, then we will play at it. - Jarosław Kaczyński, along with Jarosław Gowin, already tried to convince us of this. When did they do it? Three weeks ago, when they changed the law. What did Jarosław Gowin do in the morning? He came to a press conference, said he wouldn't vote for the bill. He came to the Sejm chamber, abstained. In the evening, when PiS needed votes, he produced his card. This is the true face of a man who doesn't care about Poland, only about his own interests. He is Poland's greatest acrobat, breaking the back of his political base to fight for himself - said Krzysztof Gawkowski in an interview with Bogdan Rymanowski on the program 'Wydarzenia i Opinie' on Polsat News.

„The elections were announced by the Marshal of the Sejm for May 10, in accordance with the constitution, no more than 100 and no less than 75 days before the end of the president's term, as elections should take place within this period. It is fundamental that a new president is elected before the expiration of the current president's five-year term, and that this president can smoothly take office. The opposition in Poland is protesting against holding the elections. Moreover, the statements you quoted, the statement of the Marshal of the Senate, clearly indicate a political protest. The question is how to do it in a way that preserves constitutional and institutional certainty, so that the constitution is not violated. Please remember that if presidential elections do not take place, we will face a deep constitutional crisis, because the presidential term expires on August 5, and if there is no incumbent president, there will be no one to conclude legislative processes in accordance with the constitution” - said President Andrzej Duda in an interview with Danuta Holecka on TVP Info’s “Gość Wiadomości”. 

- We are, on the one hand, hostages to late decisions regarding the manner of conducting the presidential elections, and on the other hand, to the sharp political conflict Poland is experiencing. Therefore, any actions by law enforcement agencies will be burdened with such comments that will be inconvenient for the ruling camp. Perhaps it would have been better to wait a few days and calmly approach the notification, rather than creating a situation that gives the opposition arguments about the government's nervousness - said Jan Maria Jackowski in 'Kropka nad I'.

"I don't know all the details and the pragmatics of the prosecution's actions, but as a politician, I can say that in the current tense situation, compounded by the coronavirus tragedy, such decisions can be commented on in a political context, and those taking action against the prosecutor must be aware of this," said Jackowski.

“We cannot allow the office of the president to be vacated, so that there is no new president and the presidential term ends. We must not allow this. This would be an absolute violation of the constitution. If anyone obstructs this, they must be aware that they are someone who is destroying the constitutional and systemic order in Poland,” said President Andrzej Duda in an interview with Danuta Holecka on “Gość Wiadomości” on TVP Info. 

- No law regarding postal voting has been enacted, so all actions taken to print ballot papers constitute a breach of law. That is why Minister Sasin demanded a written order, because a written order protects him from criminal liability, which would be borne solely by the Prime Minister who issued such an order. However, this does not protect Minister Sasin from constitutional responsibility - said Senate Vice-Marshal Michał Kamiński.

„If the Sejm, the parliament, decides to amend the constitution, and there is a constitutional majority, 2/3 of the votes, and this constitutional amendment takes place, I, as president, faced with a situation where an absolute majority of Poland's democratic representation wills, representing their voters, to change the constitution, will agree to the constitutional amendment. There is no doubt that my signature on such a constitutional change will be found, if such is the will of the majority” – President Andrzej Duda said in an interview with Danuta Holecka on "Gość Wiadomości" on TVP Info.

„On what basis would the elections be held on May 16th [2021]? What then? That one of the extraordinary states will be introduced, the mildest of which is the state of natural disaster, which is introduced by the Council of Ministers for a maximum period of 30 days, and then with the Sejm's consent it can be extended for subsequent periods. Does Mr. Borys Budka assume that it will be introduced and then extended so that the elections can be held on May 16th next year? That's constitutionally absurd” - said President Andrzej Duda in an interview with Danuta Holecka on TVP Info's „Gość Wiadomości”. 

“The opposition is not presenting any constructive proposals in this regard. They demand a postponement of the elections, they oppose holding elections now, but they are not presenting any solution that would be realistic and acceptable. This is the current state of affairs” – said President Andrzej Duda in an interview with Danuta Holecka on “Gość Wiadomości” on TVP Info. 

"- The mail should be signed. The authors and the Mail refer to the Prime Minister's ordinance, and the Prime Minister to Article 11, Paragraph 3 of the anti-COVID act. This political atmosphere is a consequence of us undertaking changes to the electoral law too late. We have a dozen or so days until the scheduled elections, and we have two attitudes. Politicians of the good change say they are defending the continuity of power and the Constitution, and on the other hand, we have those who say that in a pandemic situation, when a campaign cannot be conducted under normal rules, the elections should be postponed. The worst for the United Right camp would be if the opposition managed to successfully convince public opinion that the leaders of the United Right camp prioritize elections and political struggle over the health and lives of Poles. That is why I believe there should be dialogue, but unfortunately, there isn't, and I regret that," said Jan Maria Jackowski in 'Kropka nad I'.

"I am in favor of elections that can be held in a situation where Poles are safe. Minister Szumowski has announced that he will speak on the solutions being considered in parliament at the appropriate time, and I will base my stance on his opinion," said Jan Maria Jackowski on Kropka nad I.

- This is the function of the program, and the economic crisis absolutely does not change this function. If families receive money, they will spend it on their needs, and they will support the Polish economy. This is the first thing. This money, especially today, is desperately needed by the Polish economy - said President Andrzej Duda in the program "Gość Wiadomości" on TVP Info.

- Today, we should transform the word 'European integration' from some kind of jargon that few people could understand into a simple solution. Europe needs solidarity. Intra-European solidarity - said President Andrzej Duda on the program "Gość Wiadomości" on TVP Info.

- No European Union country can be absolutely self-sufficient. But a united Europe has a chance to be self-sufficient. Let us therefore share the commitments and responsibilities in this regard, and assume from the outset that they are based on solidarity, that we will support each other, including in terms of mutually supplying each other with individual components and the necessary elements to best protect health in given circumstances - added the President.

- These are not good news, but it must also be said that Łukasz Szumowski, a professor of medical sciences to boot, did not hide this unfortunate truth from Poles from the very beginning. He clearly stated what to expect and was never a hurrah-optimist when it came to fighting the coronavirus. Recently, he explicitly said that, in his opinion, it will take two years, because he believes that at the earliest in a year we can expect a vaccine to be developed, and it still needs to be tested, distributed, etc. So he said that in two years we will be able to be sure that we have control over the coronavirus. Looking at the development of modern science, this can be defined more or less this way, and this is how the minister defines it. Therefore, from the beginning, we knew from the minister's words that this virus is dangerous and has its own specifics. From the beginning, it was also possible to suspect, though no one is certain, that there might indeed be a second wave of the virus in its autumn form. This is, after all, how it has happened in history with other viruses of this type. In view of the above, such a danger indeed exists, and the fight against the virus will only be effective when there is a vaccine or a medicine against the virus. Until that moment, we can limit the number of infections, try to limit the spread of the virus using various methods. There will probably be some natural immunity developed in part of the society, but until there is a vaccine or a cure, unfortunately, we must expect that there will be some infections all the time, and therefore this virus will accompany us somewhere – stated President Andrzej Duda in an interview with Danuta Holecka on TVP Info's "Gość Wiadomości".

- I am immensely grateful to those Polish entrepreneurs who are here, determined not to lay off employees, to seek opportunities to weather this difficult period without depriving people of their jobs.
