Kosiniak-Kamysz:

Stay Home or Attend Meetings? A Call for Clarity on Elections Amidst Conflicting Messages

Michał Olech

- If an infectious disease is spreading, a state of natural disaster should be introduced. I have a question: is it being introduced solely because one of the elements of introducing a state of natural disaster is the postponement of elections, as all other aspects of a state of natural disaster, types of actions, and restrictions on freedom have already been applied? What is the position of the ruling party? Because on the one hand, the Prime Minister and the President say: stay in your homes, do not go out. The meeting with the Prime Minister is taking place via teleconference, the National Security Council is to be held via teleconference, even though fewer than 50 people participate in the National Security Council. There are a dozen or so people. And as we hear, the President says: we must hold meetings of up to 50 people, for election purposes. So, should we stay home or should we go to meetings? Tomorrow, Poles who have supplementary elections in their regions, in their areas, which rule should they follow? Go to the elections or stay home? I ask for a clear declaration from the Prime Minister and the President, because they have a ton of conferences. We also need to stand up for the most disadvantaged. Just as the President said today, the most disadvantaged during this time is President Andrzej Duda. So, I ask these other stations that perhaps do not broadcast all 10 of the President's conferences, broadcast them, because if such a disadvantage exists, we cannot allow the President to be disadvantaged. This is a mockery, it is very irresponsible, what we heard today - stated Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz at a press briefing.
