Thursday's Political Agenda: Parliamentary Election of TS, TK, and KRS Members, Decisions on Solidarity Fund and Excise Duty, Government on "Small ZUS," PAD in Lithuania

At 9:00, Prime Minister Morawiecki will participate in the Global e-Mobility Forum “Driving Change Together” at the PGE Narodowy Stadium.

At 11:00, a Council of Ministers meeting will commence. As announced in his exposé by Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki, ministers will today address the draft of the so-called "small ZUS" (social security contributions for small businesses). The government is also expected to adopt a draft resolution regarding Poland's nomination for the OSCE chairmanship in 2022.

The Sejm will resume its deliberations at 15:00 with the second reading of the bill amending the Solidarity Support Fund for Disabled Persons (effectively concerning the financing of the 13th pension). Following this, MPs will return to work on increasing excise duty on stimulants in 2020. At 21:00, a voting session will begin, during which the Sejm will adopt the aforementioned laws and elect judges to the Constitutional Tribunal, the Tribunal of State, and members of the National Council of the Judiciary.

Thursday marks the first day of the Presidential couple's visit to Lithuania. Today's schedule includes presidential talks at 15:10 Polish time, followed by plenary delegation talks at 15:30. A meeting between the presidents and media representatives is planned for 16:15, and at 17:00 – a wreath-laying ceremony by President Andrzej Duda at the Mausoleum of Marshal Józef Piłsudski. The final item on today's agenda is a meeting with Prime Minister Saulius Skvernelis at 17:15.

Bodnar on Pawłowicz and Piotrowicz's Constitutional Tribunal Candidacies: "We Cannot Allow Votes on Candidates Who Do Not Meet Statutory Requirements. In This Case, We Have a Clear Violation of Statutory Provisions."
In my opinion, [Krystyna Pawłowicz and Stanisław Piotrowicz have no right to become Constitutional Tribunal judges]. The age for judges, as stipulated by generally binding regulations, is 65 years old. It is absolutely disqualifying. In my opinion, such a person cannot be appointed, Adam Bodnar stated in an interview with Konrad Piasecki on TVN24's "Rozmowa Piaseckiego." I believe that we cannot allow votes on candidates who do not meet statutory requirements at all. I am aware that the course of further politics is such that the law sometimes has no significance, or for example, when we assess whether someone has qualifications, outstanding legal knowledge, sometimes such a requirement appears, or impeccable character, if the justice committee votes for it, then it's silent and it's discussed, but in this case, we have a clear violation of statutory provisions. There are opinions from both Prof. Matczak and Chmaj on this matter, and this must be taken into account. The question also remains what the President will do about it, the Ombudsman continued.

08:08

Bodnar on Pawłowicz and Piotrowicz in the Constitutional Tribunal: The only thing I'll be able to do is file motions for recusal of such individuals from adjudicating cases

From my side, the only thing I'll be able to do is file motions for the recusal of such individuals from adjudicating cases. Yes, if these individuals [Stanisław Piotrowicz and Krystyna Pawłowicz] are chosen for the Constitutional Tribunal, and they have been chosen in a manner that constitutes a breach of statutory provisions, then I will file such motions. Although again – I'm not counting on much in such a situation – stated Adam Bodnar in an interview with Konrad Piasecki on TVN24's "Rozmowa Piaseckiego" program.

08:34

Bodnar on Presidential Election Bid: It Was Rather an Idea of Commentators and Those Who Mentioned Me in That Context

- It was rather an idea [to run in the presidential election], I have the impression, of commentators and people who mentioned me in that context - stated Adam Bodnar in a conversation with Konrad Piasecki on TVN24's "Rozmowa Piaseckiego," noting that these were suggestions that appeared in the media.

- When a name appears in such a context, it is always, of course, pleasant, an honor, and one begins to think. What if. I haven't even reached that point, because, however, performing the function of a spokesperson involves numerous limitations - the Ombudsman continued. - It's worth having principles. I believe the principle is that when you hold an office, you must perform that office properly until the end - he emphasized.

08:45

Bodnar:

What Happens with the ECJ Ruling Depends on the Supreme Court and the Judges Involved
What happens with this [ECJ] ruling now depends on the Supreme Court and on all the judges involved in this case, stated Adam Bodnar in an interview with Konrad Piasecki on TVN24's "Rozmowa Piaseckiego".

Now the Supreme Court, based on the ECJ's ruling, will have to make a decision, and likely, either rulings in three-judge panels or a ruling by the Labour and Social Insurance Chamber of the Supreme Court will be issued, which will constitute something akin to, one might say, the implementation of this ruling, the Ombudsman continued.

We already have legal chaos. We must remember that this chaos is somehow being addressed, or an attempt is being made to resolve this chaos from the perspective of European values and the principles of the rule of law by the ECJ, Bodnar emphasized.

08:48

Czarzasty:

We are very seriously considering introducing a third tax bracket

"We are very seriously considering what existed under the SLD government and was abolished under the PiS government, namely a third tax bracket. We believe that people who earn more should pay higher taxes" - said Deputy Speaker Włodzimierz Czarzasty from Lewica in an interview with Robert Mazurek on RMF FM.

08:58

Budka:

I'm Ready to Run for PO Leader. If I Make That Decision, I Will Not Back Down

"It's about better organizing the party so that voters who expect effectiveness and professional action from us believe that we can win elections again. If we look at it that way, I am ready to participate in the [party leadership] elections" - said the head of the Civic Coalition's parliamentary club, Borys Budka, in an interview with Karolina Lewicka on Radio TOK FM's Morning Show.

"If I make that decision [to run], after consulting with my friends within and outside the Civic Platform, I will certainly not back down from it," he added.

Krzysztof Kubów Appointed New Head of the Prime Minister's Political Cabinet

At 10:45 AM, Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki will participate in a ceremony for the presentation of appointment letters and the entrustment of duties to members of the Chancellery of the Prime Minister's leadership – the CIR (Centrum Informacyjne Rządu - Government Information Centre) announced.

According to 300POLITYKI's information, today appointment letters will be received by Piotr Müller (Government Spokesperson), Michał Dworczyk (Head of the Chancellery of the Prime Minister), Krzysztof Kubów (Head of the Prime Minister's Political Cabinet), and Łukasz Schreiber (Head of the Permanent Committee of the Council of Ministers).

Krzysztof Kubów has served as a Member of Parliament since 2015, and was re-elected in the last parliamentary elections. In August of this year, he was appointed Undersecretary of State at the Ministry of Energy.

09:28

Tusk:

Primaries Are Much Better When Competition Has an Authentic Dimension. Both Candidates Have a Chance for an Effective Electoral Fight Against the Current President

I think this is a very good moment for the Civic Platform to gain vigor and energy, because good competition benefits any political organization. I know something about this from yesterday's elections, when I lacked adrenaline and emotions because I didn't have an opponent. Primaries are much better when that competition has an authentic dimension. Both have a chance for an effective electoral fight against the current president. They have different strengths, but in my opinion, both have very serious chances” - said the outgoing President of the European Council, President of the European People's Party, Donald Tusk, in a conversation with journalists in Zagreb.

09:29

Tusk:

From December 1st, I will be fully available for Polish political matters, 100 percent

"Until December 1st, I will still formally be the President of the European Council. Only from December 1st will I be available for Polish political matters in a full, 100 percent capacity. I will engage to the extent expected by the presidential candidate. I also don't want to do harm" - said the outgoing President of the European Council, and President of the European People's Party, Donald Tusk, in an interview with journalists in Zagreb.

09:34

Tusk on Not Running for President: I've Been Matured for Months. It Wasn't a Spontaneous Decision

I've been maturing this decision for many months. It wasn't a spontaneous impulse. The only reason is my conviction that in the current situation in Poland, some candidates have – I have the impression that, for example, the two who are deciding to run in the primaries from Civic Platform have greater chances, especially in the second round” – said the outgoing President of the European Council, Chairman of the European People's Party, Donald Tusk, in a conversation with journalists in Zagreb.

09:35

Tusk:

I'm Aware My Image is Radically Negative for a Large Group of Poles, Due to PiS's Hard Work, Especially Through Public Media

I won’t analyze for too long why my image has been effectively ruined in Poland over the last 5 years, mainly by public media in a dramatically unfair, and often downright disgraceful manner. But it also had consequences. I am aware that for a very large group of Poles, my image is radically negative, because the PiS government worked hard on that, primarily using public media” – said the outgoing President of the European Council, Chairman of the European People’s Party Donald Tusk in a conversation with journalists in Zagreb.

09:38

Tusk After Election as EPP Head: 'I Can Finally Shed the Mask of an Objective Bore and Speak My Mind.' He Expresses Joy at Being Able to More Bluntly Voice His Thoughts on Events in Poland and Europe.

The role of President of the European Council imposed very serious political constraints” - said the outgoing President of the European Council, Chairman of the European People's Party, Donald Tusk, in a conversation with journalists in Zagreb.

Now, in this new role, I will be on the real front lines of the fight. I will participate in many elections in many European countries, because it is also my task to support parties from our political family in their election campaigns. By necessity, I can shed the mask of an objective bore and say what I think. I am happy that I will be able to speak much more bluntly about what I think regarding what is happening in Poland and across Europe. The book will be an introduction to a bolder, more open description of politics” - he added.

09:46

Gawkowski:

Pawłowicz and Piotrowicz are political commissars sent by PiS to the Constitutional Tribunal to guard Kaczyński's party's interests

- As I heard the announcements yesterday, which were meant to highlight how good the candidates are, I will summarize it with just one sentence: Mr. Piotrowicz and Ms. Pawłowicz are political commissars sent by PiS to the Constitutional Tribunal to guard the interests of Mr. Kaczyński's party. These are not people who are meant to guard the interests of the Polish constitution. It was none other than Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki who said from the parliamentary rostrum in his expose that he would like the constitution to be respected, that there should be normality in Poland. Well, for there to be normality in Poland, the constitution must be respected, not political commissars sent to the Tribunal - stated Krzysztof Gawkowski in an interview with Beata Lubecka on Radio Zet.

- [The Left] will vote "no" because the Constitutional Tribunal in Poland does not operate independently. We will also vote "no" because we believe that three judges of the Constitutional Tribunal have been properly elected in Poland, and the president should swear them in. We will also not nominate candidates for the Constitutional Tribunal because we will not compete with PiS to see who gets more votes in the Sejm. It is simply dishonest when one talks about the Constitutional Tribunal in Poland, one of the most important constitutional institutions, as if it were properly elected and functioning well, when we know perfectly well that it has as much in common with correctness as a rigged poker game - the leader of The Left parliamentary club continued.

10:29

Nitras on Jaśkowiak's Candidacy: "He's certainly a last-minute contender, which doesn't help Jacek. However, he is a serious candidate. Just how serious, we'll find out on December 14th."

- He's certainly a last-minute contender, which doesn't help Jacek [Jaśkowiak]. However, he is a serious candidate. Just how serious, we'll find out on December 14th - stated Sławomir Nitras in an interview with Łukasz Kijek on Gazeta.pl's Morning Conversation.

- I feared such a scenario, where a truly random person would think this is an opportunity to shine, to enter the elite circles. You can't say that about Jacek Jaśkowiak. This is a man who has won two presidential elections decisively in a large, perhaps the fourth largest, Polish city. That's a significant accomplishment. I'm glad we have a choice and I hope we will choose a greater person. Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska certainly has an advantage over Jacek Jaśkowiak, as you yourself mentioned, she is much more recognizable. But at the same time, Jacek Jaśkowiak has a chance to present himself to the public opinion, not just in Poznań or Wielkopolska, but nationwide. A lot depends on him today. It won't be easy for him to win against Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska, but I wouldn't dismiss his chances at the start today - the Civic Platform politician continued.

10:30

Grodzki on the Senate's Next Session: Likely the First Half of December

- I met with Marshal of the Sejm Elżbieta Witek and we agreed that we will try to coordinate our work. The Senate's primary task is to work on Sejm bills, and so far no bill has reached us, so the [next Senate session] will likely be in the first half of December - stated Senate Marshal Tomasz Grodzki on Polish Radio 24.

10:45

Budka:

Yesterday's Jaskowiak Candidacy Speculation Was Unprofessional

- In my opinion, what happened yesterday regarding this candidacy [of Jacek Jaśkowiak] was rather unserious. I highly value Jacek Jaśkowiak, I consider him a good mayor of Poznań, however, the way this candidacy was being hyped up was, in my opinion, unprofessional, and I don't suspect Jacek Jaśkowiak came up with it. I'll leave internal matters for tomorrow's board meeting. We will discuss it there. It's important that we complete the nomination process we announced by December 14th - stated Borys Budka in an interview with Marek Kacprzak on WP's program "Tłit".

Prime Minister Appoints Heads of the Chancellery of the Prime Minister

Michał Dworczyk has been appointed Head of the Chancellery of the Prime Minister, Łukasz Schreiber has been appointed Head of the Standing Committee of the Council of Ministers, Krzysztof Kubów has been appointed Head of the Prime Minister's Political Cabinet, and Piotr Müller has been appointed Government Spokesperson. The appointment letters were handed over at the Chancellery of the Prime Minister by Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki. This confirms the information from 300POLITYKA published today.

Budka:

We Will Demand PiS Withdraw Two Candidates So Opposition MPs Can Join the National Council of the Judiciary

- This evening, the Sejm is scheduled to elect four representatives to the National Council of the Judiciary (KRS). I would like to remind everyone that this matter is regulated by the Constitution. There are no doubts in this regard. The Senate designates two representatives, and the Sejm designates four. Parliamentary parity clearly dictates that out of these four representatives, the largest opposition club should have one representative, and then subsequently, the next club should also have one. Unfortunately, it appears that the Law and Justice (PiS) club, breaking good parliamentary customs for the first time in history, intends to fill all four seats in the KRS with their own nominees – stated Borys Budka at a briefing in the Sejm.

- In the previous term, PiS selected 15 of its judges for the KRS, and now they want to choose four more MPs to have 19 of their people, enabling them to push through various questionable individuals for judicial positions or to promote judges who are convenient for them. The KRS deliberations are increasingly being classified as secret. The public is increasingly being cut off from information about who is being promoted and why. We have serious suspicions that judges who supported individuals nominated to the KRS are being promoted. We have serious suspicions that only those who are friendly with Minister Ziobro or those who rule favorably, for example, for Mrs. Pawłowicz, are being promoted. These are scandalous matters, and we want to have influence over them, we want to observe what is happening in the KRS. That is why we have nominated an excellent candidate, Kamila Gasiuk-Pihowicz. We believe she is perfectly suited to keep an eye on the ruling majority in the KRS. Without this, the public will be deprived of information about what is happening in this important constitutional body, which is supposed to safeguard the independence of the judiciary and monitor the majority within the KRS. Without this, our access will be truly hindered, and we will not be able to fulfill our role, which is to oversee those governing within the KRS – said Robert Kropiwnicki.

- The question arises whether PiS is so afraid of MP Gasiuk-Pihowicz, knowing her competencies, qualifications, but also her tenacity and commitment to defending the fundamental principles of the rule of law in our country, that for the first time in history, they want to break the parliamentary principle of parity in the KRS. And the second question is, what does Minister Ziobro and his people in the KRS want to hide from the public that they are doing everything they can to prevent representatives of the largest opposition clubs in the Sejm from being appointed there. These questions can, of course, find their answers in the coming days, because in the coming days we will learn about further KRS nominations. We will be able to find out that more people from Ziobro, Piebiak, the so-called 'kasta' group, will be promoted to judicial positions, and they will be promoted in an absolutely secret manner from the public eye, solely to serve PiS interests in the judiciary. We strongly oppose these types of practices and the breaking of parliamentary principles in this building, and we will demand that PiS withdraw two candidates so that opposition representatives, MPs, can be appointed to the KRS – Budka added.

12:17

Schetyna:

I bring good news from Poland. The wave of populists in our country is weakening. Kaczyński's absolute power is over.
- I bring good news from Poland. Good news for you. The wave of populists is also weakening in our country. That's right. For the last 4 years, the PiS government, directed from the back seat by Chairman Kaczyński, enjoyed absolute power. I would like to say now that this absolute power of Kaczyński in Poland is over. The election results are mixed; together, three opposition parties, our Civic Coalition, were the largest party, receiving almost a million more votes than PiS. Due to the electoral system, Kaczyński still has a majority in the Sejm, the lower house of parliament, but this majority is weak. Kaczyński's future government will be significantly weaker than the previous one. On the other hand, we, the opposition, won the elections to the Senate, the upper house of parliament. Last week, the Senate elected Tomasz Grodzki as the Marshal of the Senate, our colleague from Platforma. This is a hope for the majority of Poles who reject populist rule and such politics, but it also gives us energy for reform efforts. One such effort is crucial. It concerns the presidential campaign next spring. I promise you, as I promise my compatriots, that we will elect a great candidate who will present an attractive program, a program for improving healthcare, fighting climate change, supporting families, the middle class, and lowering taxes. This is what voters expect from us. And we will meet these expectations. Basic values, concrete proposals, great candidates. These are our actions – stated Grzegorz Schetyna during the EPP summit in Zagreb. - I am sure that we will not only win the elections; this is the only way to defend our political family, which is pragmatism, moderation. We want to protect the political center from attacks by radical forces from both the radical left and right. Speaking of great candidates, many of us in Poland thought of a certain specific candidate, Donald Tusk. He decided not to participate in the elections. We understand this decision, but Poland is in Europe, and the EPP will have an excellent leader for its political family. This is also a success for Poland – continued the PO chairman. - Please, persevere in these actions. We must not yield to those who undermine the rule of law. I promise you that a truly democratic, rule-of-law Poland will return soon – he emphasized. SIMULTANEOUS TRANSLATION

This Solution Will Help the Smallest, Micro-Entrepreneurs, and Slightly Larger Entrepreneurs Spread Their Wings: The Government Adopts the Draft Law on the So-Called 'Small ZUS Plus' and Begins Implementing the 'Five for 100 Days' Program

- Today, very good news. Not even 100 hours have passed since the vote of confidence for the government, and we already have the first of these laws that we announced, the first of these solutions that we announced for the first 100 days of the government's work. This is a law, a solution for small entrepreneurs who are starting their business, but also for those who are already running a business and who have lower incomes or revenues and want to pay a smaller ZUS contribution for a period of one, two, or three years. This is a solution that will help the smallest, micro-entrepreneurs, and slightly larger entrepreneurs spread their wings, providing relief in such a way that we estimate it to be an average of about 500 PLN in ZUS payment relief for these entrepreneurs. For those with an income closer to 5 thousand or 4.5 thousand, this amount will be slightly smaller, but for those with very low income, it can be even higher than 500 PLN, so an average is just an average - stated Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki at a press conference in the Chancellery of the Prime Minister (KPRM).

- On the scale of the entire state budget, this is a transfer of funds of at least 1 billion 300 million PLN for small and medium-sized entrepreneurs - the head of the Polish government continued. The new government thus begins the implementation of the so-called 'Five for 100 Days' program – namely, the aforementioned 'Small ZUS Plus', 'Prevention Plus', the 14th pension, subsidies for farmers, and 100 bypass roads. Our interlocutors from the Chancellery of the Prime Minister point to the communicative preparations – graphics, animations, commercials, and logos.

PM on 30-fold rule: It's good practice to try and reach a compromise without escalation. If there are new proposals, I will gladly analyze them myself.

"The project has been sent for consultations. We have received signals, not only from partners within the United Right, but also from NSZZ "Solidarność" and employers. It's good practice to try and reach a compromise without the need for any escalation. If there are new proposals, I will gladly analyze them myself," Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki said at a press conference.

Jakub Stelina Receives Positive Opinion from Justice Committee for Constitutional Tribunal Judge Position

By a vote of 13 to 10, the Sejm's Justice and Human Rights Committee has given a positive opinion on Jakub Stelina's candidacy for the position of a judge of the Constitutional Tribunal. The election of Constitutional Tribunal judges will take place today, during the evening voting block between 9:00 PM and 11:00 PM.

Grodzki on Pawłowicz and Piotrowicz in the Constitutional Tribunal: This is Another Step Towards Depreciation and Destruction of the Dignity of this Important Institution

- In my opinion, the Constitutional Tribunal, in its actual, serious function, stopped a long time ago. This is just another step towards the depreciation and destruction of the dignity of this important institution. I do not like it - said Tomasz Grodzki in an interview with Piotr Marciniak on TVN24's "Fakty po faktach".

19:46

Czarzasty:

A Left Candidate Will Reach the Second Round of Presidential Elections

- I believe that a Left candidate will advance to the second round [of the presidential elections] - stated Włodzimierz Czarzasty in an interview with Bogdan Rymanowski on Polsat News's "Gość Wydarzeń".

- Nominating candidates in presidential elections is not a race. I have already seen several prime ministers, either from Krakow or, in the last election, Ms. Kidawa-Błońska, who were already prime ministers, and yet these parties did not even receive a majority in the Sejm. Therefore, speaking quite seriously, there is no need to rush with anything or anyone - continued the SLD chairman.

- We have a very specific plan. We had a plan to reach an agreement in the parliamentary elections, and we reached it. Then everyone said: they won't form a club, but we did. Then everyone said: it will all fall apart, for example, during the vote on the 30-fold [increase in the limit for social security contributions], nothing fell apart. We are concluding parliamentary matters at the moment, and we are focusing on two things. On the schedule of laws in the Sejm that we will be submitting, and on the decision regarding the presidency [of the candidate] - he emphasized.

19:49

Czarzasty:

We're Holding a Serious Meeting with Party Leadership. We Will Determine the Path to Nomination and Selection of a Presidential Candidate. We'll Announce Our Candidate This Year.
Tomorrow, we have a very serious meeting with the leadership of individual parties. We are meeting as three parties. We will determine the path to nomination and selection of a candidate [in the presidential elections]. We will, of course, announce our candidate this year, so our candidacy will also be discussed at the Christmas Eve tables where all families always gather – stated Włodzimierz Czarzasty in a conversation with Bogdan Rymanowski on Polsat News's "Gość Wydarzeń".

19:51

Grodzki:

I've Invited Top Constitutionalists to Deepen Understanding of Senate's Response to ECJ Ruling

- For tomorrow, because this is an important matter, I have invited a group of distinguished Polish constitutionalists. Madam President Gersdorf. I am also inviting the head of the parliamentary committee, Mr. Ast, and representatives of legal professions for a working consultation in the Senate in order to deepen our knowledge on how the Senate can respond to the ECJ ruling. Whether we will potentially proceed with legislative initiative changing the KRS, or whether we will only support the Supreme Court - said Tomasz Grodzki in an interview with Piotr Marciniak on TVN24's "Fakty po faktach".

19:57

Grodzki:

Ultimately, it appears the Committee on Self-Government and State Administration will be authorized to invite Banaś to provide explanations

- I requested three legal opinions regarding what the Senate can do concerning the President of NIK, Mr. Banaś. Ultimately, it appears that the Committee on Self-Government and State Administration will be authorized to invite him to provide explanations, due to the fact that the Senate participated in the election of Mr. Banaś - said Tomasz Grodzki in an interview with Piotr Marciniak on TVN24's "Fakty po faktach".

20:03

Grodzki:

Prosperity is Built on Work, from Cleaners to Intellectual Geniuses. Quoting Thatcher, the Government Has No Money, It Only Distributes Taxpayer Funds

- Prosperity is not some great mystery; it is built on work. Hard work, from simple cleaners to the intellectual geniuses we have in our country. The entire nation. It is only work that creates prosperity, and it must be reminded to this government, and to any government, that quoting Margaret Thatcher, the government has no money; the government only distributes the money that comes from taxpayers – said Tomasz Grodzki in an interview with Piotr Marciniak on TVN24's 'Fakty po faktach'.

20:06

Grodzki on Jaśkowiak and Kidawa-Błońska: We Have a Choice Between Good and Good. It's a Win-Win Option
Both of them are excellent candidates. Each from a slightly different perspective. I am glad that we have a choice between good and good. This is, as Americans call it, a win-win option - said Tomasz Grodzki in an interview with Piotr Marciniak on TVN24's "Fakty po faktach".

20:24

Kanthak:

Prof. Pawłowicz Will Not Be an MP in the Constitutional Tribunal, but a Scientist with a Significant Legal Scholarly Legacy
- A parliamentary debate, where emotions run high and Ms. Pawłowicz was the target of attacks and crude jokes from the opposition, is one thing, and scientific activity and her achievements are another. The professor is an academic teacher, she has educated many generations of lawyers, but everyone has the right to their own judges. She will not be an MP in the Constitutional Tribunal, but a scientist, a person with a significant legal scholarly legacy - said Jan Kanthak in "Kropka nad i".

20:28

Gawkowski:

MP Pawłowicz is a Master of Contemptuous Language in the Polish Parliament. MP Piotrowicz is Second – a Master of Undermining the Rule of Law. They Incited Millions to Protest, and Now They're Supposed to Defend the Constitution?
- MP Pawłowicz is a master of contemptuous language in the Polish parliament. MP Piotrowicz is second – a master of undermining the rule of law. Two faces of the good change. We had protests against them, which brought millions of people to the streets, and today these individuals are supposed to defend the Constitution? – said Krzysztof Gawkowski, head of The Left club, on Kropka.

20:34

Gawkowski to Kanthak: You want to nominate political commissars to the Constitutional Tribunal to defend Nowogrodzka's interests. You are breaking the spine of democracy
- Politicians who waged total war against Poles, against the Supreme Court. You want to nominate political commissars to the Constitutional Tribunal who are to defend the interests of Nowogrodzka. You are breaking the spine of democracy - said Krzysztof Gawkowski in Kropka nad i.

Sejm Approves Bills on Solidarity Fund and Excise Tax Increase

Deputies, during an evening session, adopted two bills proposed by PiS. One envisages an increase in excise tax on stimulants, while the other concerns the Solidarity Fund – in practice, it pertains to the financing of the 13th pension.

Opposition MPs Protest Pawłowicz and Piotrowicz's Election to the Constitutional Tribunal:

A Disgrace.

The election of Krystyna Pawłowicz and Stanisław Piotrowicz to the Constitutional Tribunal has sparked significant controversy. Opposition MPs have vehemently protested the decision, labeling it a "disgrace." The social media links provided offer a glimpse into the heated reactions and political tensions surrounding this event.

23:19

Gasiuk-Pihowicz:

If you asked a pedophile from Tylawa if he would support Piotrowicz's candidacy for Constitutional Tribunal judge, he probably would with all his might. Piotrowicz downplayed the depraved acts of a pedophile in his statements.
- If you were to ask the parish priest from Tylawa, or rather the pedophile from Tylawa, if he would support Stanisław Piotrowicz's candidacy for Constitutional Tribunal judge, he probably would with all his might. Because it was Mr. Stanisław Piotrowicz who downplayed the pedophilic acts of the depraved individual in his statements. Such words would simply not come out of the mouth of any decent person - said Kamila Gasiuk-Pihowicz during the parliamentary debate on candidates for the Constitutional Tribunal.

23:23

Gasiuk-Pihowicz to PiS President: Mr. President, if any of Marta Kaczyńska's children were molested by a priest, would you call it bioenergy therapy?
