PJK:

The European Union is not capable of ensuring security in the military dimension, and it has some difficulties in other dimensions as well

- With all due respect and our sense of belonging to the European Union. With all due respect to what we have achieved thanks to it, because we have achieved a great deal, it is not an organization that is capable of ensuring security in the military dimension, and it also has some difficulties in other dimensions - said Jarosław Kaczyński in an interview with Katarzyna Gójska on "Sygnały Dnia" on Radio Jedynka.

07:54

Kaczyński:

We're Making Progress, Even in Healthcare, Despite Opposition Claims. Funding Will Grow.

- We are making progress, contrary to what our opponents say, including when it comes to healthcare. And this progress will continue. The amount of money for healthcare will grow. It's already growing, it's already over PLN 100 billion, and next year it will probably be around PLN 120 billion. In two to three years, we will reach PLN 160 billion, which is more than double the amount we started with – stated Jarosław Kaczyński in an interview with Katarzyna Gójska-Hejke on "Sygnały dnia" PR1.

07:54

PJK:

We Are Not Only Not Increasing Public Debt, But Clearly Reducing It

- This is all being conducted in such a way that it poses no threat to us in the future. We are not only not increasing public debt, as our opponents try to attribute to us, but we are clearly reducing this public debt. Public debt is measured relative to GDP. It is getting smaller and smaller - said Jarosław Kaczyński in an interview with Katarzyna Gójska on "Sygnały Dnia" on Polish Radio's Jedynka.

08:11

Kaczyński:

If We Mobilize, We Will Win, But Victory is Achieved at the Ballot Box

- I will repeat what I say at every meeting, and I have three today. It's not polls that win elections. Elections are won at the ballot box. People need to go to the ballot box. And this is a very fervent appeal. Everyone who wants to support us should go to the ballot box and try to mobilize others until the very last moment, starting with family and even ending with people they happen to meet somewhere, about whom they might suspect that they would be willing to support list number 2. This is truly extremely important today. If we mobilize, we will win, but victory is achieved at the ballot box, and even the best polls don't fundamentally decide anything here - stated Jarosław Kaczyński in an interview with Katarzyna Gójska-Hejke on "Sygnały dnia" PR1.

WKK in Warsaw: We Have Changed, This is the New PSL, This is the Polish Coalition. We Have United Different Circles

- Today we are starting in Warsaw. It might seem like a city where it's harder to get votes. It used to be harder, but now it will be different. We have changed, this is the new PSL, this is the Polish Coalition, these are our candidates from different circles. We have united different circles. Here on this list in Warsaw, as well as throughout Poland, we have united traditional circles, but also candidates from UED, independents, Paweł Kukiz's circle, Marek Biernacki's circle, and the Non-Party Local Government Officials. This shows how the PSL has changed – said Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz during a press conference in Warsaw.

08:18

Kaczyński:

Right now, we essentially have one party, not even in three, but in four versions. Not counting TVN. Confederation is joining this group.

- They criticize this politics, attack it, almost excommunicate it. In short, [in the case of an opposition victory], we will have a departure from all of this, and we will also have a departure from credibility. And then, if some party or group of parties, because right now we essentially have one party, not even in three, but in four versions. Not counting TVN, so I'm only talking about parties in the strict sense, Confederation is sort of joining this group, we will simply have a situation that, on the one hand, will introduce enormous chaos, because such a government will be a government of chaos, but on the other hand, it will simply push Poland backward, and very much backward, and will add other elements. These will also be elements very dangerous for Poland's future – stated Jarosław Kaczyński in an interview with Katarzyna Gójska-Hejke on "Sygnały dnia" PR1.

08:23

Szydło:

These are very important elections. Elections where we decide on Poland's future
We will be meeting with the residents of Krakow, Brzesko, and Chełm along the way. We are finishing in Stalowa Wola. I will also be going to Jastrzębie in a moment today. We will be talking, and above all, encouraging you to go to the polls. These are very important elections. Elections where we decide on Poland's future - said Beata Szydło at a press conference in Oświęcim.

Sasin Invites Olga Tokarczuk and Critics to Specify Claims of Lacking Freedom and Democracy in Poland

- Yes, we will vote for Law and Justice. I'll add that. It will be a vote for democracy in these upcoming elections. I would like to ask Ms. Olga Tokarczuk, whom I congratulate once again, as well as all those who today say that there is no freedom or democracy in Poland, to go beyond these slogans and perhaps specify what this lack of freedom and democracy entails - said Jacek Sasin in an interview with Beata Michniewicz on "Political Salon" on Radio Trójka.

08:40

Gliński:

Since 2016, We've Supported Translations of Olga Tokarczuk's Books. I Even Checked. Over 700,000 Zlotys.

Since 2016, from the moment we took over the ministry, we have supported the translations of her [Olga Tokarczuk's] books. I even checked. Over 700,000 zlotys for book translations. After all, we run a translation program” – Deputy Prime Minister Piotr Gliński said in an interview with Robert Mazurek on RMF FM.

We are strengthening the connection [of foreigners with Polish culture]. They are our ambassadors. They, among others, led to Tokarczuk being able to receive the Nobel Prize. Someone translated her books” – he added.

08:40

Sasin:

There Will Definitely Be No Joint PiS Government with Konfederacja. Their Views Are Radically Different from Ours

- There will definitely be no joint government [of PiS] with Konfederacja. This is because Konfederacja's views are radically different from our views. We do not want an alliance with Russia. We do not want to send our Polish soldiers to Donbas to fight there shoulder to shoulder with Russians against Ukraine - said Jacek Sasin in an interview with Beata Michniewicz on Polskie Radio 3's "Political Salon".

08:41

Gliński on Kaczyński's Remarks about Elites: 'It's My Boss's Statement. It's a Bit of a Problem. Everyone Understands It. Part of the Elites Connected to the Third Republic Establishment are Excessively Critical.'

“It's not skillful to comment on statements one hasn't heard with their own ears, and I haven't heard it, so I don't know the context. Secondly, it's my boss's statement. That's a bit of a problem, as you know. Everyone understands it. It's obvious that the President meant that indeed, a part of the elites connected to the Third Republic establishment, these elites were educated based on various phenomena, including common interests, and were very critical, excessively critical,” said Deputy Prime Minister Piotr Gliński in an interview with Robert Mazurek on RMF FM.

08:58

Miller:

I'm Sorry Jaruzelska and Piekarska Aren't Running on SLD Lists. I Consider It a Mistake.

- I'm sorry that both Ms. Jaruzelska and Ms. Piekarska are not running on SLD lists. I consider it a mistake. It would have been better if they had brought many votes to list number 3. This is not a good level of discussion, only that Monika Jaruzelska was pushed off this list. Even though she had the recommendation of the Warsaw SLD council and even though in the local government elections she was the only representative of the Left to win a mandate - stated Leszek Miller in an interview with Konrad Piasecki on TVN24's "Piasecki's Conversation".

09:01

PM Morawiecki in Zawiercie: We are allocating unprecedented funds for road development in the Silesian Voivodeship

Today, Zawiercie is slowly rebuilding its former glory. For this, good infrastructure is needed, including road infrastructure. Without this infrastructure, it is often impossible to pass through Zawiercie. We have a city here that is congested, and investors avoid it even more widely” - said Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki in Zawiercie.

The largest program for the construction of local government roads. PLN 6 million has recently been allocated for road construction in the Zawiercie poviat. We are allocating amounts for road development in the Silesian Voivodeship that have never been allocated before” - he added.

09:04

Miller on an Anti-PiS Government: I Don't Really Believe It. With a President Who is PiS's Spokesperson, and a Constitutional Tribunal as it is, Governing with Such a Majority Would Be a Nightmare

- All polls indicate that this will be a PiS victory. That's how it looks [that the opposition was doomed to failure]. Please note that all polls show a PiS victory, but no poll shows that PiS will receive a constitutional majority, or even 3/5. So it's very possible that PiS will need a coalition partner, and that's the fascinating question, who will it be - stated Leszek Miller in an interview with Konrad Piasecki on TVN24's "Rozmowa Piaseckiego."

- If PiS needs a coalition partner, it will find one. Or there's another variant. Poaching MPs from various groups - he continued. - It's possible [an anti-PiS government]. I don't really believe [in such a scenario] because with a president who is PiS's spokesperson, and a Constitutional Tribunal as it is, governing with such a majority would be a nightmare - the former prime minister emphasized.

09:07

Miller:

I don't share the view that Sunday's elections are even more important than those in 1989. But they are important for several reasons
I don't share the view that these elections, which will take place on Sunday, are even more important than those in 1989. But they are important for several reasons. For example, for the first time we are going to elections in a situation where the constitutional order of the state has changed. The fundamental law has been amended by ordinary laws, and that is something entirely new. Secondly – thanks to this, PiS has entrenched itself in its camp in such a way as to hinder or prevent the takeover of power, even if the opposition wins. And the third factor is the unusual degree of scandals, I mean especially the Banasi case – stated Leszek Miller in an interview with Konrad Piasecki on TVN24's "Rozmowa Piaseckiego".

09:39

Dworczyk:

The Opposition Primarily Focuses on Itself, Not Matters Crucial to Poles

- The opposition is overly sensitive about itself. This was also evident in the recent campaign. The opposition is primarily focused on itself, not on matters crucial to Poles. Not on a program for Poland for the next 4 years, so I would rather link this interpretation to the oversensitivity of our colleagues from the opposition – stated Michał Dworczyk in an interview with Jacek Prusinowski on Radio Plus.

PMM:

If Voters Trust Us and We Can Continue to Govern, We Pledge to Pass the 13th and 14th Pension Law Shortly
  • Social policy was something that was actually considered a fifth wheel, something unnecessary, undeserved. And PiS changed its approach to social policy, with senior policy being a key part of it, for pensioners, recipients of disability pensions, and I'm particularly talking here about seniors, pensioners, about weaker, the weakest individuals. As the years go by, our strength wanes, which is natural, which is why we have a free medication program for people over 75 - stated Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki in Jędrzejów.
  • Our successful battles against VAT mafias, against tax criminals, have allowed us to allocate 10 billion PLN for an additional, 13th pension, and here in Jędrzejów, I want to emphasize once again our commitment from the 'Five for 100 Days' program, that if voters trust us and we can continue to govern, because the choice is naturally in the hands of Poles, then we pledge to pass the law on the 13th and 14th pension shortly - added the head of the Polish government.

Schetyna in Opole: We Ask for Your Presence at the Ballot Boxes. Truly Every Vote, Every 10, Every 100 Votes Will Decide Which Direction Poland Takes After the Elections
We ask for your presence at the ballot boxes. We ask you to vote, to go for a walk. The weather will be favorable. It will be sunny, there will be no precipitation. Let's be with our families, with our friends on this day and let's be at the polling stations. Truly every vote, every 10, every 100 votes will decide. It will decide which direction Poland takes after the elections. Whether it heads towards Western Europe with its head held high, smiling, civic, democratic, and law-abiding, or the one that turns away from Europe. Turns away from people who have a different opinion - said Grzegorz Schetyna during a press conference in Opole.

11:05

Schetyna:

Our Nobel Laureate Clearly Stated the Importance of These Elections. This Quote Says It All, and I Want Us to Remember It Not Just on Sunday, but Always. Let Poles Vote for Democracy

- I hope everyone heard it yesterday. Our Nobel Laureate, our pride, yesterday very clearly stated how important these elections are. This quote says it all, and I would like us to recall and remember it not just today, tomorrow, or on Sunday, but to remember it always. Let Poles vote for democracy - said Grzegorz Schetyna during a press conference in Opole.

11:06

Morawiecki's Appeal: "Plan Your Sunday Well, Vote for a Better Poland"

- I wanted to ask all of you, including retirees, especially today, at this stop here in Jędrzejów, I wanted to ask retirees. Plan your Sunday well, it's supposed to be as sunny as today, beautiful weather. Let's go for a walk, let's plan the shorter or longer route to the polling station and there let's cast our vote for Poland, for a better Poland - stated Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki in Jędrzejów.

11:09

Kidawa-Błońska:

We know these elections can remove PiS from power. We believe it. We feel it, hence our great energy

The final hours of the campaign. We are full of good faith, organized. We will work through all the final minutes with full energy, commitment, because we know that everything is possible. We know that these elections can remove PiS from power. We believe it. We feel it, hence our great energy” - said Civic Coalition's (KO) candidate for Prime Minister, Deputy Marshal Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska, at a press conference in Warsaw.

11:09

Kidawa-Błońska to Young and First-Time Voters: Don't Listen to Politicians, Experts, or Journalists. Listen to Your Heart and Observe What's Happening in Poland

I wanted to address young people and those who will be voting for the first time. Don't listen to politicians, experts, or journalists. Listen to your heart and observe what's happening in Poland. Make your own decision. Ask yourselves what you want, what you dream of, and what kind of Poland is your dream Poland” – said Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska, the Civic Coalition's candidate for Prime Minister and Deputy Marshal of the Sejm, during a press conference in Warsaw.

12:07

Biedroń:

We have taken Poles towards a future that will be smiling, European, and modern. Dreaming of a future where everyone is simply respected and happy.

- We have taken Poles towards a future that will be smiling, European, and modern, a future that will be like your country. Dreaming of a future where each and every one of us is simply, in the most ordinary way in the world, respected and happy in our Poland, which we agreed in the constitution is called the common good – the Republic of Poland. I wish this for you – said Robert Biedroń during a press conference.

12:30

A White and Red Celebration is Coming Soon. Go Vote." Children Singing the Polish Anthem at a Train Station in PiS's New End-of-Campaign Spot

- This is a unique and the first political spot in Poland to adopt the flash mob format. PiS used a very simple yet powerful means of expression. Our aim was to show in the simplest form that these elections are about the future of Poland, Poles, and children. Children singing the anthem are the most credible in this regard because children are the future of Poland, and this electoral effort is precisely for them. It's also a reference to PiS's strongest message, namely social policy and building pride in Poland – says one of the key PiS campaign strategists, announcing the new spot, which 300POLITYKA is publishing first.

The children singing the Polish anthem at the train station are the same group that performed during PiS's convention in Lublin in September. - A white and red celebration is coming soon. On October 13th, go vote – says a girl at the end of the clip. According to our interlocutor, such an unconventional rendition of the anthem at a political convention was met with great enthusiasm, and today these emotions are returning in the spot, creating PiS's strong campaign message for the final stretch.

In this campaign, PiS is placing great importance on voter mobilization, including through well-received television spots – such as the one with a supporter who, sitting on a park bench, talked about politics with a wink.

Fogiel:

It's Important for the Weight of the Election to Resonate Strongly. Our Leaders Have Set Out Across Poland. They Will Be Meeting with Poles Until Midnight, Right Up to the Election Silence.

A child's voice, which emphasizes how important October 13th is, how important this white-and-red celebration is, how important it is for all of us to exercise our democratic rights and participate in the elections. I believe this is the last campaign meeting from PiS. It's important for this voice, this plea, the weight of these elections to resonate very strongly. Our leaders have set out across Poland. They will be meeting with Poles until midnight, right up to the election silence. They will be convincing them to support our program” - said the deputy spokesperson for PiS, Radosław Fogiel, at a press conference.

14:50

Brudziński:

We Will Urge All Poles to Participate in These Elections Until the Very End

- Yes, as we have said, we will urge all Poles to participate in these elections until the very end. I do not hide the fact that with immense satisfaction and joy, on this final day of the campaign, I stand here in Szczecin, among my friends, and I do not hide that I would like to boast that the ideas that accompanied our campaign were born in many places, both at the central headquarters in Warsaw, and here in Szczecin. This mobilization effort, which our leaders, President Jarosław Kaczyński, Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki, and Prime Minister Beata Szydło, initiated a few days ago, with this 'Five for Poland' slogan, literally a dozen minutes ago, a conference concluded in Warsaw where we presented our latest, mobilizing spot with incredibly wonderful children who sang the anthem at the central station in Warsaw and encouraged us to make October 13th a holiday for all of Poland. Under the white and red flag, under our national symbols, let's make this holiday a celebration of Polish democracy, and this idea was born here, in Szczecin - stated Joachim Brudziński at a press conference in Szczecin.

15:11

Kidawa-Błońska:

Since 1989, Poland Has Not Had a Power-Hungry Government Like the Current One, One So Scrupulous and Disdainful of Those Who Hold Different Opinions

"What is happening in Poland now defies reason, defies logic and common sense, and defies basic human decency. All of this is happening here and now, before our very eyes. Since 1989, Poland has not had a power-hungry government like the current one, one so unscrupulous and so disdainful of those who hold different opinions. The word 'disdain' is the key to the election, the word that best describes the current government" said Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska, candidate for Prime Minister and Deputy Marshal, during the final convention of Civic Coalition in Łódź.

15:11

Kidawa-Błońska:

Say 'Enough' to the Dictatorship of One Unhappy Man

"Say 'enough' to the dictatorship of one unhappy man. Say 'enough'. Use this chance. We want a Poland that is open, tolerant, rich, educated, and entrepreneurial," said Civic Coalition's prime ministerial candidate, Deputy Marshal Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska, during the coalition's final convention in Łódź.

15:17

Schetyna:

After 4 Years of PiS Rule, Has Healthcare Improved, is School Better, Can Entrepreneurs Feel Safer and Count on State Aid? Clearly Not.
This campaign is ending. We've had several months and we are summarizing these weeks of campaigning and the last 4 years. We must ask ourselves what was the situation 4 years ago during the campaign when we were concluding it, and what is it now. After 4 years of PiS rule, has healthcare in Poland improved? No. After 4 years of PiS rule, is school in Poland better? No. After 4 years of PiS rule, can entrepreneurs feel safer and count on state aid? Clearly not” - said PO leader Grzegorz Schetyna during the final convention of Civic Coalition in Łódź.

15:18

Morawiecki:

I'd very much like UMCS, Wrocław University, and Warsaw University to be in the world's top 50

- I'd very much like UMCS and Wrocław University, which when I started was named after Bolesław Bierut, and Warsaw University, to be in the world's top 50 - said Mateusz Morawiecki during a meeting with students in Lublin.

15:21

Schetyna to Kaczyński: The 'Enemies' You Denounce and Seek to Destroy Are the Best Poles, the Majority, and the 'Better Sort'

Poland is divided by Kaczyński and by PiS into a better and a worse Poland. No more than two days ago, just like Gomułka once did, the party leader is now talking about needing to seek out and find enemies, but enemies are not enough. We also need to find those who want to cooperate with them and annihilate them, push them aside, destroy them. This is the path of the current ruling party. From Łódź, the city of victory, I want to say: Mr. Kaczyński, the people you call enemies, the ones you want to brand and destroy, they are the best Polish women and the best Polish men, because they are the majority, and they are the better sort” - said PO Chairman Grzegorz Schetyna during the final convention of Civic Coalition in Łódź.

15:24

Schetyna:

Tokarczuk's Award is a Symbolic Recognition of Someone Who Achieved Much Not Due to Party Credentials, But Her Great Personality, Patriotism, and Truthfulness

The award for Olga Tokarczuk is a symbolic indication of a person who has achieved a lot, not because she has party credentials, not because she was favored by party arrangements, but because she is a great personality, a great patriot, a democrat, she speaks and writes the truth. That is why she received the Nobel Prize. This is a symbol that we will be proud of today and always” - said PO leader Grzegorz Schetyna during the final convention of Civic Coalition in Łódź.

15:37

Tokarczuk:

We Are Facing a Very Clear Choice. It's a Choice Between Democracy and Authoritarianism

- For me, these elections are the most important since 1989. Many Poles feel that way. We are currently going through a rather tense, dark period in Poland, a kind of attempt to find a new way of existing. We are in a situation of a very clear choice. Will we vote for a Poland that separates itself from Europe and pushes democratic values to the sidelines? What I just said. I think, simply put, it's a choice between democracy and authoritarianism - said Olga Tokarczuk, the 2018 Nobel laureate in Literature, during a press conference in Düsseldorf.

16:20

Duda:

Poland Views Intensified US Cooperation as a Complement, Not an Alternative, to EU Partnership
Poland views its intensified cooperation with the United States not as an alternative to cooperation with the European Union or within its framework, but solely as its complement and strengthening. Furthermore, with regard to common security and defense policy, all initiatives that are complementary and synergistic to NATO, and which serve to sustain transatlantic relations rather than marginalize them, can count on our support – said President Andrzej Duda during a statement by the presidents of the Arraiolos Group countries for the media.

16:50

PMM:

We Want to Change Poland for the Better. A Winding Path, Uphill, the Wind Often Blows in Our Faces, but We Don't Give Up. We are on the Road to a Stronger Homeland
We, PiS, want to change Poland. We want to change Poland for the better, and it's a winding path, uphill, the wind often blows in our faces, foreign wind, domestic wind, but we do not give up. We are on the road to a stronger homeland. Our political competitors, I've called them a coalition of chaos, because first one group wants to go with another, even though ideologically they are at antipodes, then they say they won't go together. One former president supports one party, but then supports MPs or candidates for MPs from another party. Another former president first supports one party, then that party no longer wants his support. He supports another party. That second one also doesn't want his support. So he's switching, I don't know to whom anymore. Hopefully not to us, we beg you - stated Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki in Krasnystaw.

16:57

Morawiecki:

These elections will determine the future not just for the next 4 years, but for the next 14. It's two different visions for Poland. Should Poles be left to fend for themselves, or should the Polish state, our greatest asset, help Poles?

- The future not just for the next 4 years, but for the next 14 years will depend on these elections, which are just the day after tomorrow. These are two different visions for Poland. Should Poles be left to fend for themselves, as has been the case for many social groups for 25 years, or should the Polish state, as our greatest asset and instrument, help Poles, support them? Our vision for development is, of course, a vision of a solidarity-based state, one that helps Poles. That is why we must mobilize ourselves and our friends and acquaintances. Each of you, please, plan your Sunday accordingly, go for a walk, and for those 20 minutes to the polling station, persuade your friends and acquaintances, and let's cast our vote for PiS, for Poland - stated Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki in Krasnystaw.

17:26

Biedroń:

We Have a Dozen Pacts Behind Us, Forged During This Campaign, Creating a Comprehensive, Grand Vision for Poland We Aim to Realize

- Behind us here today stand a dozen pacts, which we signed during this campaign, creating a comprehensive, grand programmatic vision for Poland that we want to implement. And I deeply believe, because I have wonderful friends with me, that we will implement them in both the Sejm and the Senate starting October 14th – said Robert Biedroń during a press conference summarizing the campaign.

17:29

Biedroń:

I ask everyone to go to the polls on October 13. When others have no strength left to fight, see how much energy the Left has

- I ask everyone to go to the polls on October 13. To believe that a different kind of politics is possible, that a smiling, European Poland is possible. When others have failed, when others have lost their strength, when they no longer have the energy to fight, see how much energy the Left has - Robert Biedroń said during a press conference summarizing the campaign.

17:34

Zandberg:

Poland is not inhabited by electorates, but by people. It's not as if PiS or Civic Platform own any electorate.

- We've traveled over 20,000 kilometers, meeting residents in almost 400 towns and villages. If I were to share one lesson we learned, it's this: Poland is not inhabited by electorates, but by people. It's not as if PiS or Civic Platform own any electorate. These are Polish women and men who expect answers to the question of how to make our lives easier - said Adrian Zandberg during a press conference summarizing the campaign.

17:40

Zandberg:

I believe that on Sunday we will all go to the polls together to vote for The Left and change Poland. Everything is still possible, the ball is in play

- We are here so that you have representation. We are here so that there is a brave voice standing in defense of human rights, in defense of democracy, the rule of law. The voice of people who have not grown tired of politics, but want to fight, want to act. They want to be active, and that's what The Left is. I believe that on Sunday we will all go to the polling stations together to vote for list number 3, to vote for The Left and change Poland. Everything is still possible, the ball is in play - said Adrian Zandberg during a press conference summarizing the campaign.

17:45

Czarzasty:

Call Your Girlfriend, Boyfriend, Friends, Family. This is Really Important. The Left Needs Mobilization

- Call your girlfriend, your boyfriend, your friends, your family. This is really important. Each of you can make 50, 80 calls. These calls are mobilization, and we need this mobilization. The Left needs mobilization, it needs your votes. We are asking for them - said Włodzimierz Czarzasty during a press conference summarizing the campaign.

17:53

PM Morawiecki Supports Colleague Running for Parliament from Kielce:

Vote Like Mateusz Morawiecki.

- I am of course giving my support to Bartek with the greatest pleasure. I've known him for a few years now. I work very closely with him. I know he specializes in matters related to agriculture, economy, and tourism. These are all very important issues for the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship, so I encourage you to vote for Bartek. He's number 20 on the PiS list - says Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki in an online clip for his colleague Bartłomiej Orzeł, who is running for the Sejm from the 20th position on the PiS list in Kielce.

- Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki's support is a huge honor for me and a great motivation to work even harder. We have been cooperating with Prime Minister Morawiecki for several years now. As you can see from what has changed in Poland during this time, this cooperation has been quite fruitful ;) We talk with Prime Minister Morawiecki very often about the problems of the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship. We have the prescription and ready-made solutions on how to mitigate these problems and make Świętokrzyskie begin to develop according to its capabilities and aspirations - wrote Orzeł on Facebook.

18:03

WKK:

These Will Be Elections Deciding Poland's Future. Nothing is Predetermined

- These will be elections that will decide the future of Poland. Nothing is predetermined. Many people still genuinely don't know who to vote for. Here, from the Rzeszów market, from Podkarpacie, I would like to ask for these votes. To ask for votes for a moderate, sensible, and just Poland - said Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz during a press conference in Rzeszów.

18:22

PJK:

If Today Some Say We Must Choose Between Democracy and Authoritarianism, One Can Say: PiS Guarantees Democracy

- If today some say we must choose between democracy and authoritarianism, one can say: democracy, the guarantee of democracy is PiS. And not only in the sense I just mentioned. It is also the democracy of Polish freedom in all spheres, not just those I’ve touched upon, and the democracy that ensures it won't be like what could be seen yesterday on television, when a certain gentleman holding a prominent position threatened a journalist, saying there will come a time when he will have to answer heavily for simply asking a question and will be ruined. He must already be collecting money for how much he will have to pay. I repeat: solely for asking a question. This is what democracy will look like, or rather something that will be a parody of democracy, if PiS does not retain power – stated Jarosław Kaczyński at the convention in Chełm.

18:26

Kaczyński:

We Aim for Social Policy Continuity and Wage Growth Over the Next Four Years, Should Society Trust Us

- We want, over the next four years, if society trusts us, to focus on the continuation of social policy on the one hand, and on wage growth on the other - stated Jarosław Kaczyński at the convention in Chełm.

18:32

Kaczyński:

Don't believe those who say our achievements, especially social policy, will be maintained. They won't be. They don't want to, they can't.

"The victory of our opponents guarantees that the [PiS] program will be completely destroyed, rejected. Do not believe those who say that anything from our achievements, and especially social policy, will be maintained, that there will be 500+, the layette, etc., etc. There won't be, ladies and gentlemen. They don't want it. They can't do it, because they lack the necessary skills. If they tolerated everything that was happening in Poland for years, the great theft from Poles, it must stem from something. And let everyone guess from what" - said the chairman of Law and Justice, Jarosław Kaczyński, during the final convention of the party in Chełm.

18:35

PJK:

We Will Not Allow Rabiej's Plan to Be Implemented

- It is a family that grows out of our tradition, but also out of human nature. Because people, objectively speaking, are divided into men and women. Women and men, and everyone is born either a woman or a man. And we will not allow these principles to be rejected in Poland, for homosexual marriages and child adoptions by these so-called partnership unions, meaning for Rabiej's plan to be implemented. We are the guarantee of the defense of the Polish family, Polish values, protection against attacks, the aggression of the Polish Church, but also people of other faiths. We are simply the guarantee of all that is an important part of our spiritual life and a part of our tradition, and also our freedom. We will not give up this freedom - stated Jarosław Kaczyński at a convention in Chełm.

18:36

Kaczyński:

Poland Attacked and Ridiculed for Centuries by Enemies; Post-War Process Resumed, Denying Us Great Victim Status of WWII

Poland has been attacked and ridiculed for centuries by our enemies. Once [by] Austria, Prussia, Russia, and later mainly Russia and Germany. This process was resumed several decades ago, after the war. We were attributed, and some still attribute, various crimes, and they do not want to grant us a status that is obvious to all of us, but is not at all obvious to the west of our borders, or was not obvious, i.e., the status of a victim, a great victim of World War II. They wanted to strike us very hard in this way and they did. They struck at Poland's reputation. And it is in the interest of the nation and every Pole that this reputation be good” - said the chairman of Law and Justice, Jarosław Kaczyński, during the final convention of the Law and Justice party in Chełm.

18:40

Kaczyński:

Our opponents dream of returning to power, of a great moral revolution, of destroying the family and gender identity. They aim to destroy us.

This is also an element we will decide on. We will decide on everything that is important. That is why those who say these are the most important elections since 1989 are right. Our opponents say this because they dream of returning to power, to former benefits, to living well, but they also dream of this great revolution, a moral revolution, of destroying the family, of destroying gender identity. They aim to – one could say – destroy us” – said the Law and Justice party leader Jarosław Kaczyński during the final convention of Law and Justice in Chełm.

Sunday's Weather Forecast is Improving. Temperatures Expected to Rise, and So Are Forecasts for the Polish Economy
Sunday's weather forecast is improving. Temperatures are expected to rise, and so are forecasts for the Polish economy. Just the day before yesterday, the World Bank announced that economic growth in Poland will be higher than previously predicted, reaching 4.3% – stated Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki at a convention in Chełm.

18:52

PMM:

We're happy about the Nobel Prize in Literature. Very happy, but I think a socio-economic Nobel would also be useful in the future.

- We are glad that we received the Nobel Prize in Literature. We are very glad, but I think some socio-economic Nobel could also be useful in the future, because all these changes, new forecasts, achievements, I would like to note, are happening despite all the announcements that the PO chairman presented in an interview today, and for 4 years we were warned by various forecasters, various Cassandras, that economic growth in Poland would collapse and all our social policy would not be able to be pursued. Apparently, they were measuring with their own yardstick, but we showed what good, healthy, solid economic policy is - stated Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki at a convention in Chełm.

19:26

PMM:

We are a Party of Modern Conservatism

"We are a modern party, a party of modern conservatism. A party that knows perfectly well that a great future must be based on two pillars: on splendid Polish culture, tradition, faith, language, but also on modernity, on us being increasingly advanced in our technologies, because only then and thanks to that will Poles earn more and more" - said Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki during the final convention of Law and Justice in Chełm.

Kidawa-Błońska on Konfederacja: Very Difficult to Find Common Ground. A Government for a Week Will Achieve Nothing, It Makes No Sense

A stable coalition is needed, one that will provide an opportunity to achieve goals that are common and that we agree on. If we listen to Konfederacja's program, they have completely different assumptions and solutions. It is very difficult to find common ground” - said KO candidate for Prime Minister, Deputy Marshal Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska in an interview with Piotr Marciniak on "Fakty po Faktach" on TVN24.

19:34

Kidawa-Błońska:

No one will raise the retirement age anymore, but we will encourage activity

The retirement age will no longer be raised, but we realize, and we are talking to pensioners who would like to work longer. People in Poland live long lives, and I have met individuals who have been retired for almost 20 or 30 years. They have their experience, they want to be active. We will encourage activity” - said the Civic Coalition (KO) candidate for Prime Minister, Deputy Marshal Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska, in an interview with Piotr Marciniak on "Fakty po Faktach" on TVN24.

19:43

Kidawa-Błońska on Kaczyński: For the First Time, a Party Leader Called a Majority of Poles Collaborators if They Disagree with Him. This is a Terrifying Image
"This week, President Kaczyński uttered many dangerous words, stating that a majority of society is not the object of his interest. He excludes them. Either you are with PiS and then you can do anything, or you are outside of PiS and then you are a collaborator. For the first time, a party leader called a majority of Poles collaborators if they disagree with him. This is a terrifying image" – said the KO candidate for Prime Minister, Deputy Marshal Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska, in an interview with Piotr Marciniak on "Fakty po Faktach" on TVN24.

19:47

Kidawa-Błońska:

Chairman Kaczyński is 'Number One' in Warsaw. Did Varsovians have a chance for even one meeting with him? Have they seen him anywhere? He is a reclusive politician

We will see what happens on Sunday. Traveling around Poland, talking to Poles, I have noticed that they primarily want to be able to talk to politicians, they want a chance to ask them questions, they want to see that the politician is among them, and not separated from the citizen. An election campaign is underway in Warsaw. Chairman Kaczyński is the 'Number One' candidate in Warsaw. Did Varsovians have a chance for even one meeting with him? To ask him a question? Have they seen him anywhere? He is a reclusive politician, he conducts politics from his home” - said Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska, Civic Coalition's candidate for prime minister and Deputy Marshal, in an interview with Piotr Marciniak on "Fakty po Faktach" on TVN24.

19:48

Kidawa-Błońska:

I'm convinced I will win in Warsaw, PiS won't have a chance to form a government, and the democratic opposition will win these elections

I am convinced that these elections will be a big surprise for PiS, especially since they can no longer count on the young generation” - said Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska, KO's candidate for Prime Minister and Deputy Marshal, in an interview with Piotr Marciniak on "Fakty po Faktach" on TVN24.

I am convinced that I will win [in Warsaw]. I am convinced that the Law and Justice party will not have a chance to form a government, and that the democratic opposition will win these elections” - she added.

20:04

Winnicki:

We won't consider a coalition with The Left. Not with Civic Platform either. PiS, PO, SLD, and PSL – we all know, they've been governing for 30 years, with very sticky fingers.
- We won't consider a coalition with The Left, that's for sure. Not with Civic Platform either, because their demands are extremely contrary to ours. We are going to the Sejm to keep an eye on them. Both PiS and PO, SLD and PSL – we all know, they've been governing for 30 years, with very sticky fingers - Robert Winnicki said in an interview with Bogdan Rymanowski on the program “Gość Wydarzeń” on Polsat News.

20:08

Winnicki:

It wasn't me at the Round Table, but Jarosław Kaczyński's brother, Lech. He should think more carefully about what he says

- It wasn't me who sat at the Round Table, especially since I was four years old at the time, but Jarosław Kaczyński's brother, Lech. He should think more carefully about what he says - stated Robert Winnicki in an interview with Bogdan Rymanowski on the program "Gość Wydarzeń" on Polsat News.

20:11

Winnicki:

It's wrong to think we can only align with one side or the other. As Poland, we must navigate our interests between great powers, not bow to Moscow, Berlin, or Washington.
It's wrong to think that we can only align with one side or the other. The world today is multipolar; it's not a Cold War world. It's a world where different great powers pursue their interests, and as Poland, we must navigate our interests between these great powers, not bow to Moscow, Berlin, or Washington – said Robert Winnicki in an interview with Bogdan Rymanowski on the program “Gość Wydarzeń” on Polsat News.

I've seen all sorts of polls. Polls can be misleading. What's truly important now is mobilization

- I've seen all sorts of polls. Polls can be misleading. What's truly important now is mobilization, and all people who see a change in Poland should go to the polls on Sunday and, of course, vote for Law and Justice - said Mateusz Morawiecki in an interview with Dorota Gawryluk on the program "Wydarzenia i Opinie" (Events and Opinions) on Polsat News.

20:22

Kaczyński:

The Same Day Wojciechowski Triumphed, Schetyna Claimed He Would Lose

- This position [of EU Commissioner], which was secured, against everyone's predictions, on the very same day Janusz Wojciechowski triumphed, Mr. Schetyna claimed he would lose, that it was the end of his career, etc. - stated Jarosław Kaczyński in an interview with Danuta Holecka on TVP Info's "Gość Wiadomości".

20:23

Morawiecki on Opposition Demands: "I Like It When They Demand More Money, Especially Given Their Track Record on Healthcare Funding"

- I really like it when the opposition says that more money needs to be allocated to something. Honestly, I have to say, it's a very bold statement, because during their time in office, for several years out of their eight, healthcare funding decreased as a proportion of GDP - said Mateusz Morawiecki in an interview with Dorota Gawryluk on the program "Wydarzenia i Opinie" on Polsat News.

20:25

PMM:

We Committed to Fighting to the Bitter End to Secure Equal Subsidies for Polish Farmers

- We committed to fighting to the bitter end to secure these equal subsidies for Polish farmers. Polish farmers must have similar subsidies at the same level as German or French farmers. Our farmer is not worse in any way - said Mateusz Morawiecki in an interview with Dorota Gawryluk on the program "Wydarzenia i Opinie" (Events and Opinions) on Polsat News.

20:31

Kaczyński:

The Nobel Prize Makes Us Very Happy

- We can only be very pleased. Regarding these visas, it shows the effectiveness of Polish foreign policy. For 30 years, or almost 30, this was not achieved, and that is truly very important. The nomination in the EU also shows that we have a strong position, because weak countries are not given important texts. And finally, the Nobel Prize also makes us very happy. This is the fifth Nobel. Out of 12 Nobel laureates from Slavic countries, including Russia, 5 are currently in Poland. This is not a bad result, although honestly speaking, for one Nobel Prize in literature, there should be several Nobel Prizes in science, and we are worse off in that regard, but we will deal with that too, we just need to ask for social support, because Polish science can also be developed, and all those blocking mechanisms that are in place there can also be overcome - stated Jarosław Kaczyński in an interview with Danuta Holecka on TVP Info's "Gość Wiadomości".

20:36

WKK:

The Shortest Path to Removing PiS from Power Leads Through the PSL

- The shortest path to removing PiS from power leads through the PSL. We are the guarantee of that. While other opposition parties, to my surprise, do not have an enemy in the opposition, we wish everyone well. It was we who ensured that one can vote not for the lesser evil, but for the greater good. Our decision to run independently has ensured that everyone can choose the greater good - said Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz during the final convention in Wierzchosławice.

20:42

Kaczyński:

We Are Not a Party of Saints, Things Happen, and We React Decisively

- Speaking of ourselves, because that's also very important. We are not a party of saints, and things happen. And we react very decisively to them. We have had [unfortunate nominations], but we draw conclusions from them. On the other hand, our opponents, even if someone has several criminal charges against them, not only do they not draw conclusions from it, but we heard just yesterday that a journalist, for the mere act of asking an inconvenient question about this very matter, is to be severely financially punished in the future when the Civic Platform (PO) government comes to power. But from financial penalties to penal sanctions, it's a short road. This is a good example of what Poland will look like if they win. It will be a Poland not only of the collapse of development and social policy – because development policy during their times was thieving privatization, generally thoughtless privatization for next to nothing – but also of how rule of law and democracy will look in Poland. Here, in the shortest terms, they essentially announce directly that they will eliminate democracy, since the opposition is to be annihilated. I am talking about PiS. This means there will be no democracy, and freedom of speech will look like a journalist not only being afraid to write something, but even to ask an appropriate question - stated Jarosław Kaczyński in a conversation with Danuta Holecka on TVP Info's "Gość Wiadomości".

20:43

WKK:

It's the PSL That Will Decide If Single-Party Rule Ends. Will We Breathe Freely, or Continue in the Stifling Atmosphere of Authoritarian Rule?

- It's the PSL that will decide if the rule, the autocracy of a single party, will end. Will we be able to breathe freely, or will the stifling atmosphere of authoritarian rule continue - said Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz during the final convention in Wierzchosławice.

20:47

I'm trying to do everything possible so that together we can change Poland for the better. To build a strong and beautiful country. We love Poland, we unite Poles.
I'm trying to do everything possible so that together we can change Poland for the better. To unite Poles, restore brotherhood, rebuild community. To build a strong and beautiful country. Not strong power, but a strong citizen, aware of their rights and duties. The country of Wincenty Witos' dreams will become reality, and it is within reach. We love Poland, we unite Poles - said Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz during the final convention in Wierzchosławice.

20:51

PJK:

We Need Societal Support, a Great Mobilization in These Elections

- They [Polish courts] need to be reformed. Here we have encountered enormous difficulties, both those expected, from our opponents, and those from outside, and these are the unexpected ones - stated Jarosław Kaczyński in a conversation with Danuta Holecka on TVP Info's "Gość Wiadomości".

- This has indeed not been entirely successful, and it is a very difficult problem altogether, because of course, the independence of the courts cannot be violated under any circumstances, but we believe, we are convinced that we will manage to overcome this obstacle in the next term. We need societal support, a great mobilization in these elections, and that is what I am asking for here - the PiS leader continued.

20:55

Zandberg:

Turkish Army Entered Kurdish Territories, Began Bombing Civilians, People Are Dying. We Were at the Embassy to Say There is No and Never Will Be Our Consent to Human Rights Violations

- I was at the Turkish embassy because something very disturbing is happening. Another humanitarian crisis is beginning. The Turkish army has entered Kurdish territories, started bombing civilians, people are dying there. We were at the Turkish embassy to say that there is no and never will be our consent to human rights violations, that we stand in solidarity with the Kurds, and that in this matter we expect a common, strong policy from the European Union - said Adrian Zandberg during a Q&A with Left leaders.

20:56

PJK:

High Turnout is Needed. High Turnout Serves Us

- High turnout is needed. High turnout serves us. If a great many Poles go to the polls this time – and I will remind you that turnout in Poland has been really low – then we will win. If it is lower, we will also win, but the absolute majority might be uncertain, and we need an absolute majority – stated Jarosław Kaczyński in an interview with Danuta Holecka on TVP Info's "Gość Wiadomości".

21:42

Kidawa-Błońska:

"We Will Win the Election. Poles Want to Trust and Believe the World Can Be Normal, Predictable, and People Kind, That We Can Talk and Cooperate"
We are not afraid; we will win this election. We have convinced Poles; each of you has had many conversations. You know what Poles care about. They want us, they want to talk to us, they want to trust and believe that the world can be normal, predictable, and people kind, that we can talk and cooperate, and that we don't have to shut ourselves away at home and not talk to others, as some are showing - said Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska in Legionowo.

21:44

Kidawa-Błońska:

This campaign has been a wonderful time, and Sunday and Monday will be even more wonderful

- We are with the people, for the people, and we know how to be and enjoy ourselves together. This campaign has been a wonderful time, and Sunday and Monday will be even more wonderful - said Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska in Legionowo.

Morawiecki's Statecraft and Poland's Rita Süssmuth: Images at the End of the Campaign

It is November 2017. Mateusz Morawiecki is still a Deputy Prime Minister in Beata Szydło's government. In a month, on December 7th, at a dramatic meeting of the PiS Political Committee, Jarosław Kaczyński will carry out the most difficult and probably most rewarding political operation of the outgoing term – the replacement of the Prime Minister. Even then, we hear that on the small Śniadeckich street, hidden in the center of Warsaw, between Plac Konstytucji and Politechnika, near the former post office, a black government BMW of the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance stops several times a week at dawn or late in the evening. Kornel Morawiecki lived there until his months-long stay in the hospital.

*****

June 2016. European Economic Congress, Spodek, Katowice. Morawiecki is slightly late for his speech, and the corridors ahead are long. At one point, he opens the door to a technical passage and leads his team through a path lit only by technical lamps. A shaken but unfazed security officer turns on his flashlight and approaches the Deputy Prime Minister. When the elevator doors open, the Deputy Prime Minister's team sees cooks with food carts. "Don't worry, we're getting off on the next floor," Morawiecki tells the bewildered Spodek staff. The elevator opens right next to the entrance where Morawiecki's speech should be starting. His colleagues are shocked at how Morawiecki managed to devise this shortcut.

"This perfectly illustrates how deeply his conspiratorial past in Fighting Solidarity, which necessitated constant strategizing on how to evade the security services to reach a destination or escape an ambush, is ingrained in him," says one person who has known the current Prime Minister for decades. And it also shows how closely Morawiecki was connected to his father and what a political tandem they remained for years, despite complicated life situations.

July 15th, Piecki near Mrągowo in Masuria. Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska is not yet the Civic Coalition's candidate for Prime Minister, but together with Barbara Nowacka, she has been actively touring Poland for several weeks as part of the #TwojSztab campaign.

Kidawa, with Nowacka and local PO MPs, visits a local bakery that has grown significantly thanks to EU funds and now supplies baked goods for the entire area. It's 3 PM. One of Kidawa's aides says there isn't much time left, as they have to be at a meeting in Legionowo, 180 km away, at 7 PM.

Kidawa calmly takes off her baker's apron and bids farewell to the hosts. As she leaves, she says, "You know, I think I have a completely, as if surgically, dissected nervous system. I can't get upset about anything, we'll always make it on time."

Thursday, August 6, 2015. It's 10 AM. In the so-called “blind salon,” the then Marshal of the Sejm, Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska, Marshal of the Senate, Bogdan Borusewicz, and President-elect Andrzej Duda with his wife Agata Kornhauser-Duda. Behind a wall sit members of the National Assembly, diplomats, constitutional judges, and the media.

The President-elect is pale as a sheet, as is the future First Lady. They cannot hide their immense nervousness. "Mrs. Agata, Mr. President, please don't worry about anything at all; you've been in this hall a hundred times. It's just the same Sejm hall," Kidawa reassures the new president, who won the election in fierce opposition to her political camp.

Sunday, April 19, 2015. A delegation led by Prime Minister Ewa Kopacz is in Bologna for the 70th anniversary of the city's liberation. Grand Hotel Majestic gia' Baglioni. It is 8:30 AM. Members of the delegation are slowly gathering in front of the hotel with their suitcases; someone even managed to buy an ice cream somewhere. On the still quite empty via Indipendenza, two figures are approaching from a nearby church. Next to Michał Kamiński, dressed in a pink linen blazer, the then-Prime Minister's spin doctor, Kidawa-Błońska, the government spokesperson who will replace Radosław Sikorski as the second-highest official in the state in almost exactly two months, walks by, smiling. They are the only ones from the delegation who, before leaving for nearby Imola for ceremonies at the plaque commemorating the entry of the Polish II Corps, woke up early to attend Sunday mass.

In the most absurd considerations, no one would have thought that Grzegorz Schetyna would turn out to be a less predatory politician than Bronisław Geremek and his entourage.

Before Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska entered politics, the political archetype of "Poland's Rita Süssmuth," the legendary Speaker of the German Bundestag, was Olga Krzyżanowska, Deputy Marshal since the Contract Sejm, who was removed from this position after the Freedom Union formed a coalition with AWS. She was "replaced" by Jan Król, close to Geremek's faction. In 2000, before the Union faded into oblivion, giving way to Platforma – a formation created by Andrzej Olechowski's presidential campaign – Leszek Balcerowicz tried to persuade Olga Krzyżanowska to run for president.

Schetyna only succeeded in this maneuver, yielding the prime ministerial candidate position to Kidawa. Besides, among the numerous political similarities between Olga Krzyżanowska and Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska, one should highlight their particularly noble family roots. Kidawa – the great-granddaughter of a Polish president and two-time Prime Minister, the father of the modern zloty. Krzyżanowska – the daughter of the legendary commander of the Vilnius Home Army – General Wilk. It is hard to find roots that could more patriotically shape a female and male politician.

One cannot escape the impression that Platforma nominated Kidawa and then abandoned her. Her bus tour across the country was organized efficiently; it's hard to fault its organization. Everything theoretically fit, except that Platforma's central strategists, if they even existed, completely failed to prepare a strategy for building their candidate's image.

What does it matter that Kidawa and her personal staff slept only a few hours a day for the last month, and the candidate ate KFC drumsticks with them on the road – like ordinary Poles traveling. If the media had accompanied her, as they did Tusk in 2011, perhaps more interest and some emotions could have been generated around this campaign. Perhaps also a "trend" for MKB. But Platforma stopped halfway. They bought hundreds of billboards and some Facebook ads, but they lacked the idea or the will for anything more.

PiS is the complete opposite. Not only did they not abandon Morawiecki, but they even helped him build a political perpetuum mobile that has not stopped for a moment in recent months. Joachim Brudziński, as head of the campaign staff, pacified all centrifugal movements and built what the party itself, in one of its most successful spots of the last decade, calls a well-oiled machine. For the first time in a long time, there were no frictions, no tabloid leaks, no inter-factional blame in the PiS campaign. It is difficult to assume that anyone other than Brudziński could have handled this "hell of Nowogrodzka."

Mateusz Morawiecki, deeply affected by the death of his father, despite the family tragedy, rose from his personal fall and returned to the election trail, even though on Friday, when it was known that these were the last days and hours of the legendary leader of the anti-communist underground, the Prime Minister's associates were convinced that the head of government would not return to such an active campaign.

The last Monday of the campaign, two days after Kornel Morawiecki's funeral. The Prime Minister returns to the route. A column of BMWs arrives at the junction of the newly opened S-6 in Stare Bielice near Koszalin, but for a while, the head of government does not get out of the car. Ministers, local MPs, and media are waiting on site. It turns out that at that very moment, at the new S-6 junction, Morawiecki was discussing with the head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, that Janusz Wojciechowski, despite temporary problems, would remain the EU Commissioner for Agriculture.

One of the Prime Minister's associates, with whom we speak, draws our attention to a simple comparison. PIR and PFR. That is, the same institution, created after Tusk's second expose. Polskie Inwestycje Rozwojowe S.A. – a government special purpose vehicle of the Ministry of State Treasury established to implement the "Investments in Poland" Program. It is mainly known for how Bartłomiej Sienkiewicz described it in a recorded conversation. PIR signed two investment agreements, one of which was terminated, and the other concerned some random student housing project in Krakow.

On the ruins of PIR, Morawiecki established PFR in 2016 – that is, the Polish Development Fund. For the first three years, the total value of investments with PFR's participation exceeded PLN 26 billion. The most important transaction was the acquisition of Pekao bank shares from Unicredit. Thanks to PFR, the Port of Gdańsk has a chance to become a real hub on the Baltic Sea. In addition, PFR also saved Pesa. "It's hard to find a more brutal comparison of how state actions differ," says one of the close advisors from the Prime Minister's circle.

Early September. A meeting on the occasion of some economic forum. Among a dozen or so people, the Prime Minister discusses the economy. Finally, someone asks about energy. The Prime Minister analyzes various new nuclear technologies for a long time, then moves on to analyzing offshore turbines and talks about energy storage technologies that will make energy production from renewable sources sensible. "You'll see, we'll carry out a major energy transformation in the next term," says the Prime Minister, and our interlocutor, reporting on the meeting, laughs that no one expected a doctoral dissertation on the subject from the Prime Minister.

Thirteen years after resigning as Prime Minister, Margaret Thatcher published her last book – Statecraft. Statecraft – something for which there is no simple equivalent in Polish – but its meaning can be reduced to the statement: governing a state. The book, perhaps a bit exaggeratedly called a manifesto of modern Machiavellianism by Thatcher's fans, was certainly a collection of lessons from a world political heroine. For eleven years, crucial to the world we know, Thatcher governed a world power, sent her country to war, overcame mass strikes and the resulting power outages in the middle of winter. She spent hours poring over documents, even making the smallest state decisions, which, incidentally, caused more than dissatisfaction among her ministers. One can say that what she called "statecraft" she brought to perfection.

Morawiecki does not govern a country with the third-largest nuclear potential in NATO, but on a Polish scale, if one looks for someone in today's politics with a penchant for analyzing the latest economic trends and statistics, influencing fiscal models, there is no one else on the horizon with similar zeal.

Tuesday, July 16, 2019. For 20 minutes on the road from the Chancellery of the Prime Minister to Nowoursynowska, the Prime Minister calls the numbers of successive PiS MEPs. He mainly speaks with Legutko, Krasnodębski, and Czarnecki. He ends the last conversation as he gets out of the car. The convoy stops in front of the entrance to the Palace in Natolin, where Morawiecki is about to begin his first meeting with the new President of Lithuania, sworn in last Friday. It's 6 PM. The vote in the European Parliament on Ursula von der Leyen's candidacy for the head of the European Commission is about to begin. As it turns out later, the votes of PiS MPs proved decisive.

Before entering the meeting with Gitanas Nausėda, the Prime Minister approaches the police officers who escorted his car to Nowoursynowska and laughs: "Thank you, gentlemen, for escorting me so efficiently that we didn't break any rules and no one got annoyed."

Schetyna in Jelenia Góra: 'There are people here who can cooperate. For that, I sincerely thank you, because it is absolutely crucial. This is how it is today, and this is how it will be on Sunday'

- This is all our joint work and joint success. Lower Silesia, Jelenia Góra are beautiful, and that's why they are making such good use of the recent years, because there are people here who can cooperate with each other. For that, I sincerely thank you, because it is absolutely crucial. This is how it is today, and this is how it will be on Sunday - said Grzegorz Schetyna in Jelenia Góra.

Kaczyński:

A 'Coalition of Chaos' from the Left to Confederation Would Certainly Cut Social Benefits and Raise the Retirement Age

- Do you know what would happen if they won? If this strange coalition from the Left to Confederation were to form, because that's how it looks now, a coalition of chaos, but above all a coalition that would certainly take away social benefits, restore the old retirement age, that would certainly dismantle everything we've done in this area - said Jarosław Kaczyński during the PiS campaign finale in Stalowa Wola.

- This offensive will be supported by this, God forbid, new government. Have no doubts about it. Those who applauded there, at the University of Warsaw, when the Polish Church was insulted, today sometimes, I am referring to the Polish People's Party (PSL) here, try to twist and turn, but when it comes to power, participation in power, and the benefits of power, they will certainly abandon what they are saying now to return to what they did then. To those applauses of Mr. Kosiniak-Kamysz. I still remember it, because it was a truly characteristic scene. Those unbelievable statements and those applauses. So, do not believe them, because they have lied to us many times, very many times. And on this matter too, they will lie to us - stated Jarosław Kaczyński in Stalowa Wola.

- In the European Union, they will pursue their personal interests, such as the interests of Donald Tusk, who received a high, prestigious, though in essence of little importance, position. We, on the other hand, received a very significant position. 1/3 of the EU budget. That is a commissioner - said Jarosław Kaczyński during the final rally of the PiS campaign in Stalowa Wola.
