The PSL leader is visiting Wielkopolska. At 9:30 AM, he will be in Konin, Środa Wielkopolska, Poznań (conference at 3:00 PM), and Nowy Tomyśl. At noon, Left political party representatives will organize a conference in front of the Palace of Culture and Science titled "What the Constitution Guarantees Us". Sasin on 2020 Minimum Wage Increase: 'The Beginning of a Process to Raise it to 4,000 Zloty Over 4 Years'

"We have shown with previous announcements that we act swiftly. It's not the case that we postpone work. An announcement was made on Saturday that the minimum wage will increase to 2,600 zloty from next year. This is more than the government initially planned. The proposal presented by the Minister of Family was 2,450 zloty. That's what the government initially accepted as a proposal for talks in the tripartite committee. This is the beginning of a process to raise the minimum wage up to 4,000 zloty within 4 years" – said Deputy Prime Minister Jacek Sasin on Jedynka radio.

07:35

Sasin:

If We Win the Election, the 13th Pension Will Be Statutorily Guaranteed; It Will Be a Permanent Mechanism Introduced into the Legal System. Then Similarly, the So-Called 14th Pension.

The 13th pension will be a permanent mechanism. We will adopt a law that will guarantee it, it will be a statutory mechanism for the 13th pension to be paid out every year. If we win the election, such a permanent mechanism will be introduced into the legal system. Currently, we have an additional proposal regarding 2021, and then we would also like to implement it as a permanent mechanism, so it will be not only the 13th, but the 14th pension, or the 13th pension twice a year. We will present the details in the coming weeks” – said Deputy Prime Minister Jacek Sasin on Jedynka radio.

07:56

Emilewicz:

We've spoken about maintaining the 13th pension from the start, so it's not a new social transfer

- We've spoken about maintaining the 13th pension for retirees from the very beginning, since we introduced it, so it's not a new social transfer. There is a draft budget, it has passed the first reading in the Council of Ministers. We still have to work on it, so this next 13th pension will be secured - stated Jadwiga Emilewicz in an interview with Konrad Piasecki on TVN24's "Rozmowa Piaseckiego" program.

08:01

Kidawa-Błońska:

Elections Matter Not Only for Our Lives and Economy, But for the Country We Will Live In
We are truly focused on these most important elections right now. They are truly very important. They are important not only for how our lives and economy will look, or how much money we will have, but for the country we will live in. For me, and I think for all of us, the most important thing should be to bridge the divides – said Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska in an interview with Piotr Witwicki on Polsat News' "Graffiti".

08:05

Kidawa-Błońska:

The Voivode as Government Representative for Security and Communication Matters – That's Needed. Not a Voivode Dealing with Schools and Healthcare

- In the current system, many tasks of the voivode and the regional marshal overlap. This is unnecessary. There should be clarity on who is responsible for what. The voivode as the government's representative in the region, handling matters related to security and communication, yes, that is needed. But not a voivode dealing with schools, not a voivode dealing with healthcare - said Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska in an interview with Piotr Witwicki on Polsat News' "Graffiti".

08:06

Emilewicz on Minimum Wage: 'It's Truly a Very Big Jump. It Will Be a Difficult Situation, Primarily for Small Businesses, but Such Changes Must Be Subject to Consultation'
- It is truly a very big jump [in the minimum wage], but we have checked. It will be a difficult situation, primarily for small entrepreneurs, for those employing 5 to 10 people. This is not my proposal, but I will remind you that such changes, just like the increases we have had in recent years, must always be subject to consultation within the RDS [Social Dialogue Council]. So, before us, once the bill proposal is tabled, we will have to agree on this within the RDS, where employers and employees are represented. This discussion is still ahead of us - stated Jadwiga Emilewicz in a conversation with Konrad Piasecki on TVN24's "Rozmowa Piaseckiego". - It will indeed be difficult for the smallest [the minimum wage increase], which is why the Prime Minister spoke about these smallest ones, saying that he wants to link social insurance contributions to income for these smallest entrepreneurs - she noted. - Certainly, we will now conduct analyses, sector by sector, industry by industry, when we look at which areas are most affected. Europe knows solutions where this kind of special treatment applies to certain industries, certain sectors. Perhaps we will try to promote such an approach in the next government - Emilewicz emphasized.

08:10

Kidawa-Błońska:

The IPN had a role to fulfill, and it certainly did not fulfill it. The prosecutorial branch should be liquidated.

- The IPN had a role to fulfill, and it certainly did not fulfill it. Scientific research is certainly needed, because we should learn about our history, research it, and become acquainted with the documents held by the IPN - Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska said in an interview with Piotr Witwicki on Polsat News's "Graffiti".

- We need to arrange it so that it focuses on research, on the protection of archives, so that it is a place where scientists can research our history. The prosecutorial branch should certainly be liquidated - Kidawa-Błońska added.

08:12

Kidawa-Błońska:

We Must Strongly Focus on Culture and Education in Our Country
We must strongly focus on culture and education in our country. There will be fewer, better roads, but we must help people use them, and without culture and good, modern education, we won't manage it – said Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska in an interview with Piotr Witwicki on Polsat News' "Graffiti".

08:15

Kidawa-Błońska:

I'm Not Afraid of Debates. Schetyna Isn't Either

- Up until now, there was a tradition of debates between the 'number ones'. We'll see how it goes this term. I'm not afraid of debates. From what I know, Grzegorz Schetyna isn't afraid either – said Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska in an interview with Piotr Witwicki on Polsat News's "Graffiti".

08:18

Emilewicz on PiS Proposals: It Was Not Consulted With Me

- It was not consulted with me. [If it had been consulted with me] I would have definitely said that it is difficult, demanding, requires consultation, and that's how it will eventually happen with this announcement - stated Jadwiga Emilewicz in a conversation with Konrad Piasecki on TVN24's "Rozmowa Piaseckiego," when asked if it was consulted that PiS would announce such a program at Saturday's convention.

08:26

Gowin on Minimum Wage: Politics Always Requires Compromise. This Compromise Also Lies with Our Partners from PiS

- Politics always requires compromise. This compromise also lies with our partners from PiS - stated Jarosław Gowin in an interview with Beata Lubecka on Radio Zet.

- Since it was announced at the convention, it means it's a joint project. Just as it is a joint project, initiated by Porozumienie, specifically by Minister Emilewicz and myself, that ZUS, a fundamental change for small businesses, will be calculated based on income - the Deputy Prime Minister continued.

08:31

Gowin:

The Problem is Two Million Small, Family Businesses – The Salt of the Earth and Engine of Economic Growth. With Them in Mind, We've Prepared a Project Linking ZUS Contributions to Company Income
- The problem is two million small, family businesses, which for me are the salt of the earth and the engine of economic growth. And it is precisely with these two million companies in mind that Minister Emilewicz and I have prepared a project linking the amount of ZUS (Social Insurance Institution) paid by these entrepreneurs to the companies' income, not revenues or profits, but income - stated Jarosław Gowin in an interview with Beata Lubecka on Radio Zet. - In this way, we want to make the increase in the minimum wage neutral for these two million small companies - added the Deputy Prime Minister.

09:57

Grabiec:

Kaczyński told entrepreneurs to pay employees more without asking if they could afford it

- President Kaczyński proposed that entrepreneurs pay their employees more, without asking if they had the means to do so. We all want employees to earn more; that is naturally a goal for politicians. We are in favour of people earning more, but the state budget should participate in this. More funds should be generated through taxes so that they remain in employees' pockets. Work must pay off - said Jan Grabiec in an interview with Jacek Prusinowski on "Sedno sprawy" on Radio Plus.

10:01

Grabiec:

We are four weeks before the elections, the party ruling Poland today has not presented any program at all

- We will discuss this in detail at subsequent conventions [regarding the costs of the Civic Coalition's program]. It is certainly over 30 billion zlotys. We have calculated this. We will present this data. We are four weeks before the elections, the party ruling Poland today has not presented any program at all - said Jan Grabiec in an interview with Jacek Prusinowski on Radio Plus's "Sedno Sprawy".

10:05

Grabiec on the Civic Platform Leader's Role in a Potential Government: It's a Decision for Schetyna Himself and the Coalition Model
It's a matter of Grzegorz Schetyna's own decision and the model of this coalition government, which will be worked out, I believe, after the elections won by today's opposition electoral committees – said Jan Grabiec in an interview with Jacek Prusinowski on Radio Plus's "Sedno sprawy" (The Heart of the Matter).

10:24

Kidawa-Błońska to Sasin: Warsaw and Mazovia Don't Need to Be Divided. You Can't Convince Warsaw and Mazovia, So You Want to Split This Well-Functioning Organism

We have an appetite to achieve a truly magnificent result in Warsaw. The people standing behind me guarantee that this result will be excellent. We are starting our campaign and you will be able to meet us everywhere, to talk with us. Warsaw is an extraordinary city. Warsaw and Mazovia are one connected organism. Really, Mr. Prime Minister Sasin, there is no need to divide Warsaw and Mazovia. We will not allow ourselves to be divided. You say this is necessary to secure EU funds. You can secure EU funds, because the statistical division has already been made. If you can't lobby for this money, we will gladly help you, because we want Warsaw and Mazovia to develop wonderfully. You can't convince Warsaw and Mazovia, so you want to split this well-functioning organism” - said Civic Coalition's candidate for Prime Minister, Deputy Marshal Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska, at a briefing.

10:29

Kidawa-Błońska:

Our program states that people who work must be rewarded, but it cannot be that President Kaczyński automatically sets the minimum wage

"For us, work is very important, and in our program, we say that work should pay off for people, that people who work must be rewarded, that a person who works must feel important, that it is they who generate the prosperity of our society, our country. But it cannot be that Mr. President automatically sets the level of the minimum wage," said Civic Coalition's prime ministerial candidate, Deputy Speaker Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska, at a briefing.

10:52

Rosati:

Proposal to Raise Minimum Wage to 4,000 PLN in 2023 is Unrealistic and Dangerous for the Polish Economy, Completely Detached from Economic Realities

30 days before the end of the election campaign, the party governing Poland for the last 4 years has no election program. At the last congress – supposedly programmatic – President Kaczyński presented loose ideas for changes that would occur after the autumn elections, but it immediately turns out that the ministers of the PiS government are questioning these proposals, undermining them, and in particular, the Minister of Entrepreneurship is doing so in relation to proposals that harm entrepreneurs. The statement by the Minister of Justice, who says that PiS does not pay attention to entrepreneurs and does not care whether entrepreneurs will be able to pay salaries, is quite absurd. All of this shows how profoundly detached from reality the current authorities are, how they have lost touch with reality over these 4 years, how little they know about the problems that Poles are living with today” – said PO spokesperson Jan Grabiec at a press conference in the Sejm.

The proposal to raise the minimum wage to 4,000 PLN in 2023 is unrealistic and dangerous for the Polish economy, it is completely detached from economic realities. It means an annual increase in the minimum wage in enterprises and the public sector, including local government, by over 15%. Labor productivity in Poland, during the good economic conditions of recent years, grew on average by 3-3.5%. Raising the lowest wages completely detached from labor productivity means a huge increase in costs for businesses, as well as for public sector entities” – added Dariusz Rosati.

11:24

Gowin:

8,000 PLN Net Income in Cities like Warsaw, Krakow, Poznan, Wroclaw is Not High Earnings
- This is a controversial solution [abolishing the ZUS contribution limit]. Indeed, along with Minister Jadwiga Emilewicz, we will discuss further with our colleagues from Law and Justice whether this element is necessary to balance the budget. This is because it hits the middle class, which, in terms of social groups, is always the engine of civilizational development in every democratic country - Jarosław Gowin said in an interview with Beata Lubecka in the online segment of Gość Radia Zet. - We need to consider whether the amount of 140,000 is the right threshold, or if ZUS [contributions] should not be restricted, abolished from slightly higher salaries. This is because 8,000 PLN net income in cities like Warsaw, Krakow, Poznan, Wroclaw is not high earnings - the Deputy Prime Minister continued. - In my opinion, it would be best if we didn't change this regulation at all. But if we were to abolish it [the limit], I would clearly raise the threshold - he emphasized.

14:27

Kidawa-Błońska on Education Reform: I Appeal to Chairman Kaczyński: If you made this mistake, please fix it as soon as possible. If you cannot fix it, let us do it.

We are traveling here and observing, checking the situation in education in Radom. There are very valuable and interesting initiatives. We visited a nursery, the first nursery built in the Szydłowiec poviat under the Maluch program, launched during our time. A special place where children are excellently cared for. Talking to the ladies who run this nursery, we learned that it was also very important that we introduced a one-year maternity leave, so that children enter the nursery at the age of 12 months, because such children feel much better in the nursery, adapt better, and develop. But these are nurseries and kindergartens, whereas what is happening in primary and secondary schools is a real drama. And it cannot be that someone invents a reform and doesn't consider the costs that this will entail for the children, because after all, children are the most important. Teachers and local governments have bent over backward to solve this problem. And we have returned to a situation I remember from my childhood. I remember schools where we had to attend in shifts. As a first-grader, I went to school at, I remember it today, 5:10 PM. Many, many years have passed, we live in the 21st century, and it is only because PiS did not listen to the opposition, the voices of teachers, local government officials, and parents, that children have been subjected to such a fate. And this is no longer politics, because it is harming people. People are suffering, and we need to find a solution here as soon as possible. Parents cannot watch without emotion what fate has befallen their children. Tired teenagers at 6 PM are unable to learn as if they had started classes in the morning – stated Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska at a press conference in Radom.

Chaos was introduced, and this chaos exists. It needs to be fixed as soon as possible. People of honor, if they make a mistake, they admit to it. I appeal to Chairman Kaczyński: if you have made this mistake, please fix it as soon as possible. It cannot be that entire age groups are condemned to very difficult learning conditions. Teachers to very difficult conditions for teaching our children and grandchildren. Fix this mistake, and if you cannot fix this mistake, then let us do it, because we have solutions on how to solve the problem of education, so that school is friendly, so that children feel they are the most important there, so that teachers have time to dedicate to their work. This chaos must be stopped immediately. If you do not know how to do it, we will do it very gladly, because there is no time to wait here anymore – added the KO candidate for Prime Minister.

14:36

Kidawa-Błońska:

Work in Poland Must Be Rewarding, Working People Must Be Respected, But It Must Be Done Thoughtfully. The Operation of Small Businesses Cannot Be Limited or Disrupted
A ZUS (Social Insurance Institution) increase was announced at the PiS convention, which, due to the higher minimum wage, will affect hundreds, thousands of small businesses. Entrepreneurs are already afraid, as are taxi drivers, small hairdressing salons, and small shoe repair shops. They will not be able to bear such a burden. They will not be able to afford to provide the wages that President Kaczyński talks about, because, according to him, it's not about the wage being higher, but about the state being able to extract more money in the form of taxes, which are lacking to fulfill these promises. Our proposal is open to people earning more in Poland, truly more, to entrepreneurs having opportunities for development, and for the budget to be created in a pro-development manner, because work in Poland must be rewarding, working people must be respected, but it must be done thoughtfully. The operation of small businesses, on which our economy is truly built, cannot be limited or disrupted. If they live in poor conditions, it will have repercussions on our entire lives and the economy in the coming years - stated Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska at a conference in Radom.

Minimum Wage in Poland: 2600 PLN Next Year, 3000 PLN by Early 2021, and 4000 PLN by End of 2023

- I spoke with the Minister [Emilewicz] and I don't know exactly what she meant, but I want to primarily present a certain perspective. Because today we think of 4000 PLN as something very high, but it's structured so that 3000 PLN will be reached by the end of next year, practically in 1.5 years, at the beginning of 2021, and 4000 PLN by the end of 2023. This is an evolution, an increase in minimum wages, which – I imagine – will also pull up productivity, work efficiency of individual employees, and will also be beneficial for employers - stated Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki in Łowicz.

- We are raising the minimum wage to 2600 PLN from next year, and I am convinced that this growth trajectory, this growth path that we have proposed, will serve well to increase the efficiency and innovativeness of Polish enterprises, the quality of work, but also employee satisfaction - added the head of the Polish government.

16:53

PMM:

Poland Can Be Better. It's Good We're in the EU, But Politics Must Be for Polish Families, for Everyone Who Needs Support

- For these past twenty-odd years, since Poland became free, I have often heard that things cannot get any better, that we already have the best possible politics and economy. But I did not agree with that. I disagreed with it. I believe that Poland can be better, that it's good we are in the EU, but politics must be politics for Polish families, for everyone who needs support. That is why we have initiated our changes - stated Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki in Łęczyca.

16:57

PMM:

We Will Legally Guarantee 'Emerytura Plus' Will Be Paid Annually
Yes, as we promised, we will continue 'Emerytura Plus', and I want to clearly, very strongly state here in Łęczyca that we will legally guarantee that 'Emerytura Plus' will be paid every year. And I think that what we have done so far, our credibility, the payment of 'Emerytura Plus' already this May, testifies to the fact that we are reliable, solid, and trustworthy, and it will be the same in the future, provided, of course, that the state, the voters, trust us in a month's time during this fundamental test, which are the parliamentary elections - stated Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki in Łęczyca. Yes, if PiS governs, then there will also be a 14th pension [in 2021] - the head of the Polish government continued.

16:59

PMM:

Who Initiated the Battle for Historical Truth? Let's Be Clear. The PiS Government

- Today, the whole world knows what for us was an obvious truth: that the war began here, 80 years ago, that Poles were exterminated primarily by Germany, but also by the Soviets, that Poles heroically fought for freedom and democracy on all fronts of World War II. The words of the German President in Wieluń and Warsaw will be important in 10 and 100 years, because it was precisely these words that acknowledged the historical truth. Who initiated the battle for historical truth? Let's be clear. The Law and Justice government - said Mateusz Morawiecki during an election meeting with the residents of Łęczyca.

17:01

PMM:

We are a party that cares about the life of the ordinary person, of ordinary Polish families
We are a party that cares about the life of the ordinary person, of ordinary Polish families. That is why our tax cut, and also our minimum wage program, which is increasing and will continue to increase rapidly as long as we are in power. In 2020 to PLN 2,600, in 2021 - PLN 3,000, and in 2023, from the beginning of 2024 - PLN 4,000 - stated Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki in Łęczyca.

17:03

PMM:

'On the Other Side, We Have a Powerful Force of Media. Very Often Deceitful Media.'

- On the other side, we have a powerful force of media. Very often deceitful media. Media that are in the hands of people who often do not wish us well. That is why we need to talk, to show our effectiveness - said Mateusz Morawiecki during an election meeting with the residents of Łęczyca.

Parliamentary Committee to Address Motion to Dismiss Ziobro Tomorrow

Tomorrow at 4:00 PM, a session of the parliamentary Committee for Justice and Human Rights is scheduled to take place, during which the motion to dismiss Zbigniew Ziobro from the position of Minister of Justice, filed by the Civic Platform-Civic Coalition (PO-KO) club, will be considered.

It is also possible – the new schedule has not yet been released – that the opposition's motion will be considered by the Sejm (Polish Parliament) tomorrow evening as well. The largest opposition club submitted the motion at the end of August, which was made available today on the Sejm's website and referred for consideration to the aforementioned Committee for Justice.

Sejm Session Break Until October 15th May Be Announced Tomorrow

A break in the Sejm's session until October 15th may be announced at its upcoming meeting, which begins tomorrow, according to information obtained by 300POLITYKA. In such a scenario, the Sejm session would be continued after the parliamentary elections. The Presidium is meeting today at 9:00 PM to discuss this matter.

Pomaska in Gdańsk Questions Who Ordered Armed Boarding of Greenpeace Ship

Member of Parliament Agnieszka Pomaska, at a press conference in Gdańsk, posed a question to the Minister of Interior and Administration, Mariusz Kamiński, asking if he issued the order for armed boarding of the Greenpeace ship Rainbow Warrior. "I have the impression that the border guard's intrusion onto the peacefully-oriented Greenpeace ship was a show of force under the leadership of the new minister, Minister Kamiński, who has taken over supervision of most services in Poland," Pomaska stated. The MP also recalled that the Civic Coalition's program includes phasing out coal for individual home and apartment heating by 2030, for system heating by 2035, and for energy production by 2040.

The Greenpeace ship Rainbow Warrior blocked the import of coal from Mozambique in Gdańsk yesterday. The peaceful protest aimed to draw the Polish government's attention to the urgent need for climate protection actions and the necessity of transitioning away from coal.

19:52

Sasin:

We Need to Debate Concrete Issues. It's Difficult to Debate with Kidawa-Błońska When She's Not a Real Prime Ministerial Candidate, and Civic Platform Has No Real Program

- We really need to debate concrete issues. It's difficult to debate with Ms. Kidawa-Błońska when she is not a real candidate for prime minister, not a real leader, and most importantly, Civic Platform, her party, Grzegorz Schetyna's party, has no real program - stated Jacek Sasin in a conversation with Bogdan Rymanowski on the program "Wydarzenia i opinie" on Polsat News.

19:57

Sasin:

I Will Definitely Not Decide for the Prime Minister. Personally, I See No Point in Such a Debate

- I will definitely not decide for Prime Minister Morawiecki. Personally, I see no point in such a debate [with Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska]. It's a waste of time - stated Jacek Sasin in an interview with Bogdan Rymanowski on the program "Wydarzenia i opinie" on Polsat News.

- We respect the opposition, opposition parties, and democratic procedures above all. It is the voters who will decide who wins these elections, but having experienced the last 4 years, how Civic Platform behaved, what arguments it used, we can predict what such a debate will look like. It will be invective, so-called fake news, false information. There will be no substantive discussion there - added the Deputy Prime Minister.

- We prefer to dedicate this time, and the Prime Minister certainly will as well, to conversations with Poles, because much more comes from this debate, from conversations with voters, with ordinary citizens of our country - emphasized Sasin.

20:02

Sasin:

No Veto from Gowin on Minimum Wage

- This program was consulted within the leadership, within the leadership of the United Right. If Prime Minister Gowin had any reservations about this program, it was certainly a good time to discuss them. Today we also had a discussion on this matter at the Council of Ministers, and I did not have the impression that this was a distancing. It was a good discussion about these proposals. We all agreed that they were very good and beneficial proposals for Poles. In no case [was there a veto from Jarosław Gowin regarding the minimum wage] - stated Jacek Sasin in an interview with Bogdan Rymanowski on the program "Wydarzenia i opinie" (Events and Opinions) on Polsat News.

Borys-Szopa on Minimum Wage: The Opposition Doesn't Surprise Me. I Remember How PO Grinded Up 350,000 Signatures for a Civic Initiative to Make the Minimum Wage 50% of the Average Salary
“Today, at the government meeting, the Prime Minister proposed that the minimum wage from January 1st should be 2600 PLN gross. I emphasize ‘gross’ because it will still be below 2,000 PLN net. The opposition doesn't surprise me, considering that I remember when we twice submitted civic initiatives for the minimum wage to be 50% of the average salary in Poland. The first time we didn't make it, the second time PO ground up 350,000 signatures and decided that this project was not worthy of political attention,” – said Minister Bożena Borys-Szopa in an interview with Michał Adamczyk on “Gość Wiadomości”.

20:05

Borys-Szopa:

We Want to End the Colonial Approach to Poland. We Want to End This 'Cheap Labor'
“We want to end the colonial approach to Poland, to a country that is developing, aspiring to be a highly developed country, to end this ‘cheap labor’. [Raising the minimum wage] is one of the first steps” – said Minister Bożena Borys-Szopa in an interview with Michał Adamczyk on “Gość Wiadomości”.
