Tuesday's Political Agenda: Government on Next Year's Budget and Farmer Aid, Kosiniak-Kamysz to Sign Pact for Entrepreneurs, Liroy and Godek Conference, KW Session

The government, at its meeting commencing at 10:00 AM, will address the draft budget bill for 2020. In accordance with the Constitution, the government is obliged to submit the budget draft for the following year by the end of September – though, due to the parliamentary term ending, it remains unclear whether it will be passed before the elections. In such a scenario, the new government would have to re-adopt the draft.

Yesterday, the agenda also included a draft resolution on establishing an aid program for farmers and agricultural producers who suffered losses in their agricultural holdings caused by drought, hurricane, hail, torrential rain, spring frosts, or floods in 2019.

An closed-door session of the committee for the privatization of Warsaw real estate will take place at 10:00 AM. Following this, around 11:00 AM, a press conference by committee members is planned – announcing decisions regarding the property located at Schroegera 80 Street and concerning compensation and damages for tenants.

Around 12:00 PM, a joint press conference by Piotr Liroy-Marzec and Kaja Godek will be held in the Sejm. Also today, the leader of PSL, Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, will sign the "Pact for Entrepreneurs." At 1:00 PM, a press conference with representatives of entrepreneurs and employers will take place in Sokołów.

Dworczyk:

We are aiming for a balanced budget, to stop further state indebtedness, and to maximally reduce the deficit

The final budget will be seen in a few hours, when the Council of Ministers discusses this document. I believe the draft budget bill will be adopted today. It's worth recalling that inheriting the budget from the PO-PSL governments in 2015, the PiS government inherited a budget deficit of PLN 50 billion. Since then, we have been striving to effectively reduce this deficit. Last year, it was reduced to PLN 10 billion, while simultaneously making the largest investments in social and solidarity programs. Today, we are aiming for a balanced budget, meaning to stop further state indebtedness and to maximally reduce the deficit” - said Minister Michał Dworczyk on Jedynka radio.

07:53

Dworczyk:

1000 Zloty Per Hectare Subsidies for Losses Exceeding 70% Will Be Implemented as Promised by the Prime Minister
This year, too, farmers will not be left to fend for themselves. Subsidies of 1000 zloty per hectare for losses exceeding 70% will be implemented as promised by the Prime Minister. The fight against drought is a good example to illustrate how the PiS government operates. This is not just support for farmers, but also systemic actions, meaning work on retention and countermeasures against such situations, Minister Michał Dworczyk said on Radio Jedynka.

07:55

Karczewski:

Ziobro Made an Immediate Decision, the One He Should Have Made. We Set Very High Standards, and We Adhere to Them

- The Minister [Ziobro] made an immediate decision, the one he should have made. We set very high standards, and these standards are adhered to by us. It's simply showing others, if anything happens today, we have such standards, something is happening... I recall a situation with the tapes in 2014. Donald Tusk said: I will call a conference on Monday at 3 PM and explain everything. He did not call a conference. He delayed for a very long time, a very long time. I don't know if you recall how long decisions were made. Here, decisions were made immediately - stated Stanisław Karczewski in an interview with Konrad Piasecki on TVN24's "Rozmowa Piaseckiego".

07:56

Dworczyk:

Wojciechowski's Candidacy for Commissioner is Very Good. A Person of Great Competence in Agriculture

This candidacy [Janusz Wojciechowski's] is very good. He is a person of great competence when it comes to issues related to agriculture. It wouldn’t be appropriate for me to speak about our candidate's ideas for commissioner or his action plan. We should calmly wait for the selection to be made” – stated Minister Michał Dworczyk on Radio Jedynka.

08:01

Spychalski on the TAI for opposition politicians: It seems to me that this is an important enough matter to have its final effect

- It seems to me that this is an important, significant matter, that it will have its final effect. However, I do not think that this parliamentary term will deal with it - said Błażej Spychalski in an interview with Wojciech Dąbrowski on Polsat News' "Graffiti".

08:05

Karczewski:

A Minister Can't Know Everything. TVN's Management Also Doesn't Know Everything Happening at the Station. I Remember Kamil Durczok. Certain accusations, suspicions were raised. Did everyone resign? No. Let's not go crazy.
"Then he would have resigned himself, because I know he is a man of honor and would certainly have done so" - stated Stanisław Karczewski in a conversation with Konrad Piasecki on TVN24's "Rozmowa Piaseckiego" [Piasecki's Conversation], when asked about a scenario where it would turn out that Zbigniew Ziobro knew that his deputy was organizing a witch hunt against judges unfavorable to the authorities. - A minister cannot know everything. And the management of the state's television station also doesn't know everything that is happening at the station. I recall Kamil Durczok. Certain accusations, suspicions were raised. Did everyone resign? No. Let's not go crazy, after all. It is our personal responsibility, yes, but we cannot be responsible... Well, should everyone resign? Of course, I know the opposition would want that and is demanding it now, because what does the opposition have to offer us? What in the election campaign, apart from attacks on PiS politicians? First Kuchciński, then me, now Zbigniew Ziobro. Only attacks - the Marshal of the Senate continued.

08:06

Dworczyk on motion for impeachment of Tusk, Kopacz, Rostowski, and Szczurek: It's a recommendation. The decision on when and if it will be filed rests with PiS political leadership

"This is a recommendation. The decision on when and if this motion [for impeachment of PO politicians] will be filed will be made by the political leadership of PiS. The scale of pathologies revealed by the VAT commission is very large" - said Minister Michał Dworczyk on Radio Jedynka.

08:06

Spychalski:

The Reform Absolutely Did Not Hit a Dead End. The Establishment of the Disciplinary Chamber Was Very Good

- The reform absolutely did not hit a dead end. The establishment of the Disciplinary Chamber was very good. It functions better and better, more efficiently, and the effects of its work are visible, so it was a good reform of the Supreme Court - said Błażej Spychalski in a conversation with Wojciech Dąbrowski on Polsat News' "Graffiti".

08:11

Spychalski:

Szczerski's Decision Was Highly Responsible. Few Politicians in Our Country Would Make Such a Choice

- First and foremost, it was a highly responsible decision by Minister Krzysztof Szczerski. There are few politicians in our country who would make the kind of decision Minister Krzysztof Szczerski did - Błażej Spychalski said in an interview with Wojciech Dąbrowski on Polsat News's "Graffiti".

- From the beginning, everyone knew what the situation would be. First, we announce the names, then we choose the portfolio. No one expected that Poland would be offered perhaps one of the most important portfolios - Spychalski added.

08:12

Karczewski:

I See No Sin in Ziobro's Actions

- I see no sin here [on Zbigniew Ziobro's part] - stated Stanisław Karczewski in a conversation with Konrad Piasecki on TVN24's "Piasecki's Interview." - We are talking about standards, we are talking about political responsibility. So, political responsibility exists. Minister Ziobro immediately made decisions - added the Marshal of the Senate.

08:16

Karczewski:

I feel disgust towards what happened there, because I am an absolute opponent of hate speech

- I feel disgust towards what happened there, because I am an absolute opponent of hate speech - stated Stanisław Karczewski in a conversation with Konrad Piasecki on TVN24's "Piasecki's Interview".

08:22

Karczewski:

I Browse My Social Media. There Are Troll Farms Hating Me There

- I browse my social media profiles. How much hate is there? There are troll farms there that hate me. I am horrified by what Brejza is doing, by what is being done to me, to politicians. This is not an exceptional situation that concerns only and exclusively Poland - stated Stanisław Karczewski in an interview with Konrad Piasecki on TVN24's "Piasecki's Conversation".

08:24

Karczewski:

After the elections, we will decide who will be the prime ministerial candidate

- After the elections, we will decide [who will be the prime ministerial candidate]. Yes, [Beata Szydło] was our candidate because we ran our campaign that way, but after the elections, we will make decisions - stated Stanisław Karczewski in an interview with Konrad Piasecki on TVN24's "Rozmowa Piaseckiego" program.

08:38

Karczewski:

You Want to Label Us as People Walloping in Luxury and Privileges. That's False.
"You want to label us as people walloping in luxury and enjoying privileges. No, that's false," stated Stanisław Karczewski in an interview with Konrad Piasecki on TVN24's "Rozmowa Piaseckiego" (Piasecki's Interview).

09:42

PM on Facebook: I Invite You to a Joint Conversation About Poland

- The election campaign is a time for intense, often tough, but I hope primarily creative conversations about our Polish aspirations and expectations. It is also a time for questions about what to do to make our daily lives even better, and for Poland to be an increasingly better place to live for all of us, regardless of our views, place of residence, or profession. I would like us to meet and talk face-to-face across Poland about the matters most important to us, but I would also like us to have a substantive discussion here, on social media. Let's show that we can talk to each other with class, with care for Poland, based on arguments, without insulting others. Here, I will tell you about my current activities related to the implementation of the government's Responsible Development plan and the PiS program. Here, you will be able to learn about my vision for the future of Poland and my proposals for Upper Silesia, the region for which I am running for a parliamentary seat. I invite you to visit my profile, but above all, I wholeheartedly invite you to a joint conversation about Poland. Let's stay in touch - stated Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki in a recording published on Facebook.

Kosiniak-Kamysz:

We Called for a Fight for the Agriculture Commissioner Post. We Will Support Wojciechowski. PiS Reaches for Their 'Alumni' from the People's Party.
"We called for a fight for the agriculture commissioner post. We talked about this two months ago, immediately after the EP elections, stating that after the times when Czesław Siekierski was the head of the agriculture committee, it is a good moment for a Pole to be a commissioner. Of course, we will judge by the results. We will support him [Janusz Wojciechowski], despite the political animosities that may exist between us, although for many years he belonged to ZSL, PSL, he was a judge, head of NIK appointed by us, and deputy speaker of the Sejm. I understand that PiS is reaching for the cadres it has, for its 'alumni' from the people's party side. We respect that," said the leader of the Polish People's Party (PSL), Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, in an interview with Beata Michniewicz on Radio Trójka.

09:54

Kosiniak-Kamysz on Alliance with Kukiz: Strategy, Agreement, Cooperation, Mutual Respect, Sympathy We Have for Each Other

"This is a strategy, an agreement, cooperation, mutual respect, and the sympathy we have for each other. We entered [the Sejm] from different poles, with different views of ourselves and our political environments. Four years of conversations, of convincing each other of our viewpoints, have allowed us to create a common project today," said the leader of the Polish People's Party, Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, in a conversation with Beata Michniewicz on Radio Trójka.

13:32

Kropiwnicki:

Today We Submit a Motion of No Confidence Against Ziobro. We Expect This Debate to Happen on Friday, or by September 11th at the Latest

- We will demand a vote of no confidence [against the Minister of Justice], meaning there will be a debate about this entire mess in the Ministry of Justice, this whole group which is increasingly difficult to call people from the Ministry of Justice, because it sounds like an Orwellian novel, that people who created hate, very bad, offensive things, worked in high positions in the Ministry of Justice. Zbigniew Ziobro must take responsibility for this - stated Robert Kropiwnicki in an interview with TVN24.

- Yes, today we are submitting a motion of no confidence. We expect this debate to take place on Friday, and by September 11th at the latest - added the Civic Platform MP.

13:51

PM Morawiecki on the 2020 Budget Project: The First Budget Since the Transformation Without a Deficit. It is Balanced

- I have the honor to present the budget for 2020, which we have prepared and discussed today during the Council of Ministers, and this satisfaction stems from the fact that for the first time in recent history, since the transformation – perhaps one can say 30 years – it is a state budget without a deficit, it is a balanced budget. And indeed, we started from the very beginning, emphasizing all actions on the revenue side that would be able to increase the state budget's income – stated Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki at a press conference at the Chancellery of the Prime Minister (KPRM).

14:06

PMM:

The Polish State Budget is No Longer an ATM for Tax Criminals
The Polish state, and the Polish state budget in particular, is no longer an ATM for tax criminals. We have effectively combated, to a significant extent, fuel, tobacco, and alcohol mafias, as well as the entire VAT carousel system, which was operating to the immense detriment of the state budget – stated Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki at a press conference at the Chancellery of the Prime Minister (KPRM).

14:23

PM on the 2020 Budget Draft: Heading to the Social Dialogue Council and Consultations, but Our Intention is to Submit It to Parliament in Its Balanced Form

- I can say that from our side, we are now sending [the draft budget for 2020] to the Social Dialogue Council, for social consultations, but yes, our intention is to submit this draft to the Sejm in this form, in a balanced form. This will be according to certain dates that are set in the budget work calendar, and from the Council of Ministers, I have the intention that a bill proposal will go to the Sejm in the shape we are presenting to you today - stated Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki at a press conference at the Chancellery of the Prime Minister.

14:31

PM Morawiecki: Minister Ziobro Didn't Know What Was Happening. He Reacted As He Should Have

- Minister Ziobro did not know what was happening [in connection with the so-called 'hater scandal']. In large institutions, where thousands, even tens of thousands, of people are employed, it's impossible to know exactly what kind of dirt or unsavory matters have accumulated in every corner of every room. Therefore, Minister Ziobro reacted as he should have reacted - stated Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki at a press conference at the Chancellery of the Prime Minister (KPRM).

14:38

PM on Hate Campaign Scandal: Decisions Made in 24 Hours. Meanwhile, Our Competitors' Inowrocław Institutions Allegedly Engage in Organized Hate. Schetyna Fails to React

- When irregularities were discovered, where a certain group, in a completely reprehensible, absolutely reprehensible manner, used hate speech to slander other people, which is completely beyond any standards, then decisions were made within 24 hours. Meanwhile, according to media reports, institutions in the city of Inowrocław, associated with our political competitors, are participating in an organized hate campaign. And Chairman Grzegorz Schetyna is not reacting. In the case where the chairman of the Civic Platform (PO) club, Mr. Neumann, faces prosecutorial charges, Chairman Schetyna is not reacting. The same applies to Mr. Gawłowski, who also faces prosecutorial charges, and Mr. Schetyna's party has drawn no conclusions from this either. I am only appealing for a very fair approach to irregularities that appear in the public domain. Here, there was a very swift reaction and a clean-up of what can be delicately termed irregularities. On the other side, the media report on an organized hate campaign in a city, in which the city's institutions are participating. Well, ladies and gentlemen, city institutions that - as the media report - are financing organized hate, basic conclusions should be drawn from this. Therefore, the reaction should be adequate, but also the same on both sides of the political scene  - stated Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki at a press conference at the Chancellery of the Prime Minister (KPRM).

15:05

PM Morawiecki Denies Implementation of 'Entrepreneur Test': 'There is no such intention'

- I want to deny what appeared today, following yesterday's articles, that we are implementing an entrepreneur test. According to our promise from 3 months ago, there is no entrepreneur test planned here. I kindly ask you not to mislead public opinion. As we said, we are credible. And that is how we act. There is no such intention regarding the entrepreneur test - stated Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki at a press conference in the Chancellery of the Prime Minister (KPRM).

15:05

Sobolewski:

PiS Candidates for the Sejm and Senate in Constituency No. 28 Częstochowa Registered

The list of PiS candidates for the Sejm and the candidates for the Senate in Constituency No. 28 Częstochowa have been registered. We also registered the list of candidates for the Sejm in Constituency No. 11 Chrzanów. I would like to thank everyone involved in this process!

17:00

Wojciechowski:

My Greatest Task, if Appointed Commissioner, is to Create an Agricultural Policy with a 2050 Perspective

- I believe my greatest task, if I am indeed appointed to this position – it's not a foregone conclusion, it's the beginning of a process, a procedure – but if it were to happen, I would consider the creation of a long-term vision for agriculture in Europe as a crucial point of my activities – said Janusz Wojciechowski in an interview with Aleksander Ziemiańczyk on Polish Radio 24.

- I'm talking about something more. About the need to create an agricultural policy with a perspective not of 7, but of 27 years. Or even more, with a perspective reaching towards 2050 – Wojciechowski added.

17:08

Wojciechowski on His Competencies: 'I'm from the countryside, I feel agriculture. I learned agricultural policy as Vice-Chairman of a European Parliament committee. I mainly oversaw agricultural matters at the ETO.'
Firstly, it is very important experience to understand agriculture. I am from the countryside, from the Łódź region, from the Rawa region. I grew up in the countryside and I feel agriculture, even though I didn't become a farmer - said Janusz Wojciechowski in an interview with Aleksander Ziemiańczyk on Polskie Radio 24. I learned agricultural policy in the European Parliament. As Vice-Chairman of the Committee on Agriculture for 12 years, and at the European Court of Auditors for the last three years, I mainly oversaw matters concerning agriculture - Wojciechowski added.

18:39

Paruch:

It's hard to imagine Minister Ziobro knowing everything happening among judges, especially KRS members and other judges in official ministry positions

"It's hard to imagine that the minister [Ziobro] knew about everything happening on the line of judges, especially KRS members and other judges in official ministry positions. It's hard to have knowledge that would consist of what and who is doing in a mobile network and with whom they are corresponding," said Prof. Waldemar Paruch in a conversation with Karolina Lewicka on "Political Interview" on TOK FM.

"There is no evidence that Minister Ziobro knew anything about it. Quite the opposite," he added.

18:50

Paruch:

Ziobro is Not a Burden; He is the Author of a Necessary Justice Reform and is Implementing It Under Difficult Conditions

No, of course, [Zbigniew Ziobro] is not a burden at all. He is the author of the reform of the justice system. He is implementing this reform under very difficult conditions, facing resistance from a significant number of judges in Poland, other lawyers, and academic circles. He is pursuing this in confrontation with the European Commission. These conditions are not easy, but we know that this reform is essential and necessary” - said Prof. Waldemar Paruch in an interview with Karolina Lewicka for the "Political Interview" on TOK FM.

19:46

PM on Budget Without Deficit: Very Good News, Even in the Face of Coming Market Turbulence

- Indeed, very good news, because thanks to high tax revenues, we have managed to balance the budget for next year as well. Both the largely eliminated VAT gap and the increase in tax revenues by 100 billion over these 4 years – the previous 8 years saw a little over 50 billion, I think it's easy to compare these figures – but similarly in the area of CIT and PIT revenues, these are truly very significant successes in tightening the system. This has led to a situation where we have been able to balance state budget revenues and expenditures for the first time. This is very good news, also in the face of certain upcoming turbulences that can be heard about in international markets. We have indeed planned this also with an eye on the internal and external situation – stated Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki in an interview with Anita Werner on TVN24's "Fakty po faktach".

19:52

PMM:

One Fundamental Poll Matters. October 13th

- PiS is working very hard collectively. We are on the road all the time, and it is certainly a great effort from many people - stated Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki in an interview with Anita Werner on TVN24's "Fakty po faktach".

When asked about the drop in polls, the head of the Polish government replied: - We will see what the next polls show. Besides, one fundamental poll matters. October 13th. And we rely primarily on the voters, and as for what's in the polls, we have full tolerance for it, but it's not everything.

19:53

Wójcik on the Kostecki Case: Within a Dozen or So Hours, I Will Try to Address Everything That Has Appeared in the Media

- In the near future, I will try to address, I think within a dozen or so hours, perhaps a few dozen, everything that has appeared in the media over the last two weeks – said Michał Wójcik in an interview with Piotr Witwicki on Polsat News's program "Wydarzenia i Opinie" (Events and Opinions).

19:55

PMM:

It's good that the reaction was so swift. Within 24 hours, Piebiak resigned

- I spoke with the Minister [Ziobro], of course. It's good that the reaction was so swift. Within 24 hours, Minister Piebiak resigned. We have cut off this issue, we reacted in the appropriate way, because this hate speech, various kinds of acts we heard about, the disclosure of certain data, was absolutely reprehensible - stated Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki in an interview with Anita Werner on TVN24's "Fakty po faktach".

20:00

Wójcik on Reports Regarding a Hate Group in Inowrocław: "Very Serious Accusations Have Emerged, and This Requires a Response from Mr. Schetyna"

- Very serious accusations have emerged in the media, and this requires a response from Mr. Schetyna. It cannot be the case that one simply snaps their fingers and says we'll somehow make it to October 13th. No, we will not make it. You need to respond, Mr. Chairman - said Michał Wójcik in an interview with Piotr Witwicki on the program 'Events and Opinions' on Polsat News.

20:00

PMM:

No Evidence Minister Ziobro Knew About the Procedure
There is no evidence that Minister Ziobro knew about this procedure, knew about something like what was supposed to happen there - stated Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki in an interview with Anita Werner on TVN24's "Fakty po faktach" (Facts After Facts). In a very large institution, where there are thousands of people, tens of thousands of people, you as the head of that institution, hypothetically, cannot always determine at which point something bad is happening. Consequences simply need to be drawn - added the head of the Polish government.

20:02

PM on the Piebiak Affair: A Preliminary Investigation Will Be Conducted. Appropriate Steps Will Be Taken

"A preliminary investigation will be conducted. Appropriate steps will be taken, and appropriate decisions will be made. For now, we need to clarify things" - said Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki in an interview with Anita Werner on "Fakty po Faktach" on TVN24.

20:03

PM Morawiecki: We're on 'Facts After Facts', Let's Talk About Those Facts. The Facts Are That Ziobro Didn't Know What Was Happening There

- In such situations, facts are most important. After all, we are on "Fakty po faktach" (Facts After Facts). So let's talk about those facts. The facts are that Minister Ziobro did not know what was happening there. Of course, yes [he told me so] - stated Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki in an interview with Anita Werner on TVN24's "Fakty po faktach".

20:03

PM on Hate Speech: I Expect a Thorough Investigation, Burning Out Such Behavior with a Hot Iron, Both from Inowrocław and from Various Rooms in the Ministry of Justice

I expect a thorough, bone-deep explanation of this matter, burning out such behavior with a hot iron, both from Inowrocław and from various rooms [in the Ministry of Justice] where this procedure took place” – said Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki in an interview with Anita Werner on „Fakty po Faktach” on TVN24.

20:06

Zandberg:

The State Has Become Such a Poor Employer, Paying So Little, That People Don't Want to Work for It. We Must Fix This in Poland
The situation in the public sector is truly serious. In very many inspections, offices, and public administration, there are currently vacancies because the state has become such a poor employer, paying so little, that people simply don't want to work for the state. We must fix this in Poland - said Andrzej Zandberg in an interview with Piotr Witwicki on the program "Wydarzenia i Opinie" on Polsat News.

20:07

Minister of Finance on the Sustainable Budget Project: A Result of Our Hard Work, the United Right Government's Reforms of Tax and Customs Services
- This is the result of our hard work, the United Right government's reforms of the tax and customs services. In a short period, we have reduced this tax gap, which reached PLN 262 billion, to below the European average. We are not a theoretical government, but a strong one that ensures the safety of its citizens - said Marian Banaś, Minister of Finance, on Gość Wiadomości.

20:11

PMM:

Bill on Politicians' Asset Transparency to Be Presented in This or Next Sejm Session to Conclude the Matter This Term

There is such a bill [on politicians' asset transparency], it is ready. It is undergoing consultations and can be presented at any moment, and it will be presented either during this Sejm session, or [during the next one], in order to conclude this matter during the current Sejm term,” said Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki in an interview with Anita Werner on TVN24's "Fakty po Faktach" program.

20:12

PM on the 'Hate Campaign' Affair: If Facts Emerge Regarding Other Individuals Involved, Consequences Will Also Be Drawn

- Consequences have been drawn from this [so-called hate campaign] affair. If facts emerge regarding other individuals involved in this matter, in this bad, dirty business, then consequences will naturally also be drawn - stated Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki in an interview with Anita Werner on TVN24's "Fakty po faktach".

20:13

Finance Minister: We Included Amounts from OFE and CO2, as well as the NBP Dividend, Because Such Opportunities Arose. But We Will Continue to Seal the Tax System.
- We included amounts from OFE and CO2, as well as the NBP dividend, because such opportunities arose. But we will continue to seal the tax system through split payment and STIR. We will act with increasing effectiveness - said the Minister of Finance, Marian Banaś, on Gość Wiadomości.

20:14

Zandberg:

When the cost of debt on markets is record-low, deciding to balance the budget on paper instead of solving specific social problems is socially irresponsible
I am not excited by the fact that the budget is balanced, because there are serious social problems that have not been solved. Therefore, when the cost of debt on markets is record-low, in my opinion, deciding to balance the budget on paper instead of solving specific social problems is socially irresponsible - said Andrzej Zandberg in an interview with Piotr Witwicki on the program “Wydarzenia i Opinie” on Polsat News.

20:15

Morawiecki:

Our Focus Now is to Actually Win These Elections. We Must Humbly Admit Our Opponent is Very Strong

Our focus now is to actually win these elections. We must humbly admit that our opponent is very strong, and we respect all our political competitors. We will see what the verdict of the voters will be” - said Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki in an interview with Anita Werner on "Fakty po Faktach" on TVN24.

20:16

PM Morawiecki: If PiS Wins and Secures a Parliamentary Majority, Leadership Will Decide on PM Candidate in Due Course. No Decisions Today on Post-Election Scenarios

If PiS wins and secures a parliamentary majority, which I hope will happen, because we are demonstrating that social policy can be combined with development policy and a balanced budget, then the political leadership will make decisions [regarding the candidate for prime minister] in due course. There are no decisions today about what will happen after the elections” – said Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki in an interview with Anita Werner on „Fakty po Faktach” on TVN24.

20:17

Morawiecki:

I am convinced that President Kaczyński would be a better Prime Minister than me

I think so [he would be a better Prime Minister than me]. I am convinced that the President would be a better Prime Minister” - said Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki in an interview with Anita Werner on "Fakty po Faktach" on TVN24.

Sejm Begins Work on the So-Called VIP Flights Bill

A meeting of the Sejm's Committee on Administration and Internal Affairs has been scheduled for Thursday at 4:00 PM, where the first reading of the government's draft bill on flights with the most important state officials, more commonly known as the so-called VIP flights bill, will take place. This bill was announced following the scandal involving flights taken by the former Marshal of the Sejm.

The Sejm convenes on Friday, and it is possible that the government's proposal will be voted on that day. Marshal Witek recently suggested to journalists that the schedule would be expanded, causing deliberations to conclude even later. According to the current version of the Sejm's work plan, which 300POLITYKA has seen, the second block of voting is scheduled to end at 10:30 PM.
