At 11:00 in Warsaw, a presentation of the Civic Coalition's Warsaw list candidates will take place, with the participation of PO chairman Grzegorz Schetyna. The presentation was originally scheduled for yesterday, but a change was made due to the opposition leader's conference.

Also at 11:00 in Zielona Góra, a press conference will be held with the participation of, among others, PSL chairman Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz. The topic: Agreement between PSL and the Non-Partisans on a joint run for the Sejm.

- No, I did not expect [such behavior]. I mean, for me, the disclosure of this information regarding correspondence with an internet user and the staging of all these hate campaigns was a very big surprise. The most important thing is that these are officials of the Ministry of Justice, but not only officials, judges, who have specific ethical duties, and the second thing is the disclosure of personal data and the use of arguments from private life. This is a crossing of all possible moral, legal, and personal data protection boundaries. These are matters that somewhere border on criminal liability - stated Adam Bodnar in an interview with Konrad Piasecki on TVN24's "Rozmowa Piaseckiego".

- The [matter is not over]. It is, of course, very good that the Minister of Justice decided to withdraw the delegation for Judge Iwaniec. Now we will see what the next decisions will be related to these further revelations, because it turns out that the scale of involvement of various individuals is greater - stated Adam Bodnar in an interview with Konrad Piasecki on TVN24's "Rozmowa Piaseckiego".

- For "Gazeta Wyborcza," Kiszczak was a man of honor. If the Prime Minister had attended the funeral of some Stalinist criminal, he would probably be a hero in "Gazeta Wyborcza" - said Marek Suski in an interview with Michał Rachoń on the TVP Info program "Jedziemy".

- I'm not the best person to analyze what Zbigniew Ziobro knew or didn't know and to what extent he accepted such practices. However, I have the impression that such actions, like for example the PFN campaign. I'm talking about the billboard campaign, that is, this action of slandering judges, or the constant talk about these various examples, were certain operational mechanisms that, of course, the Minister of Justice knew about and accepted. Whether he knew about this specific situation, about this specific engagement of these internet haters, I don't have such knowledge - stated Adam Bodnar in an interview with Konrad Piasecki on TVN24's "Rozmowa Piaseckiego".

- In our case, there is absolutely no consent for any violation of even rules, and if something is suspicious, there is a resignation, as in the case of the gentleman from the Ministry of Justice. On the other hand, we make a huge fuss out of a small thing, despite an immediate and proper reaction, while they defend their colleagues - said Marek Suski in a conversation with Michał Rachoń on the TVP Info program "Jedziemy".

– How can [the Marshal of the Sejm not publish the lists of support for the KRS], when there is a final and legally binding judgment? What is a binding word in general? If it decisively rules that the lists are to be made public, and the entity, the body, responsible for this is the Marshal of the Sejm, then that's it – stated Adam Bodnar in an interview with Konrad Piasecki on TVN24's "Rozmowa Piaseckiego".

– The public has the right to know the lists of support for candidates to the KRS, as ruled by the Supreme Administrative Court. All other subsequent maneuvers are simply legal charlatanism – added the Ombudsman.

- The case of Mr. Minister Piebiak, in governmental terms, is closed because the minister has been dismissed. The Prime Minister has no other course of action regarding Mr. Minister Piebiak, but the hate campaign must be investigated. After all, Minister Ziobro says this, and so does any reasonable politician - said Piotr Müller in an interview with Wojciech Dąbrowski on Polsat News' "Graffiti".

- I am not considering this perspective [of running in the presidential elections]. I am the Ombudsman until September 2020 – stated Adam Bodnar in an interview with Konrad Piasecki on TVN24's "Rozmowa Piaseckiego". He added that he does not intend to resign from his position before his term ends.

- Let's note that we are actually talking about the judicial community. Minister Piebiak wasn't a politician, he is a judge. This entire conflict within this community concerns judges, not politicians - said Piotr Müller in a conversation with Wojciech Dąbrowski on Polsat News' "Graffiti".

- I get the impression that PSL representatives are terribly afraid of the word 'pact.' It concerns an agreement that says one thing. That where there are representatives of PO, Civic Coalition, there will be no candidates from PSL. Where there are candidates from PSL, there will be no candidates from KO. I get the impression that they don't like the word 'pact,' however, this agreement is becoming a reality. There will be no fratricidal struggles. - The question arises whether Minister Zbigniew Ziobro lied yesterday when he said that he learned about this matter only recently, a few days ago, from the media. I want to point out that current regulations stipulate that the district prosecutor's office, the lowest level, should handle matters based on a notification filed by a judge. Meanwhile, this case has been proceeding here from the very beginning in the regional prosecutor's office - said Borys Budka during a press conference in Katowice.

- We are publicly questioning whether it is possible that Zbigniew Ziobro, as the Prosecutor General, to whom the regional prosecutor's office in Katowice reports, had no knowledge for nearly five months about what was on the media seized by the prosecution - the MP continued.

- We demand that all significant elements of the ongoing investigation be revealed to the public today, and that it be revealed today whether the Prosecutor General, the Minister of Justice, was informed about the details of this case during these five months - Budka added. 

- Party leader Jarosław Kaczyński is an outstanding statesman, valued worldwide, and whether he becomes Prime Minister is also Jarosław Kaczyński's decision - stated Marek Suski in an interview with Łukasz Jankowski on Radio Wnet.

Next Friday morning, between 9:00 and 9:30 AM, the election of the President of the Supreme Audit Office (NIK) is scheduled, according to information from 300POLITYKA. PiS's candidate is Marian Banaś, while PO's candidate is Borys Budka. On the same day, the Senate is expected to approve the appointment of the NIK president, allowing for the swearing-in ceremony before the Sejm. This might occur during the evening session, between 8:30 PM and 10:30 PM.

During this session – which will be a continuation – the Sejm will also address the government's draft bill reducing the Personal Income Tax (PIT) from 18% to 17%. The first reading will take place at 9:30 AM, with the Public Finance Committee meeting on this matter scheduled for 11:30 AM. The second reading is set for 5:15 PM, suggesting that the Sejm will adopt this final bill from the so-called "Kaczyński's Five" during the aforementioned evening session.

Furthermore, at 2:15 PM, the second reading of the government's draft bill establishing a commission on pedophilia will take place. The first reading is scheduled for the previous day, Thursday, during a legislative committee meeting. As we reported on 300POLITYCE, the Sejm was not in a hurry to establish this commission, but work has accelerated following the publication. If the vacation legis is shortened during parliamentary proceedings, there is a chance the commission will be appointed within this term.

The Sejm may also address a draft bill concerning flights for key state officials, which – according to documents made available in the Public Information Bulletin (RCL) – is to be adopted today through a written procedure. During her last press conference, Marshal Witek suggested that the draft bill would be submitted this week, and MPs would consider it at the session on August 30th. This would further extend the session.

- I am more than shaken. I am terrified because, of course, the hate directed at me was very frequent, but I did not assume, I would never have suspected, that this was some kind of mass action and not just individual statements from those who write to me - stated Małgorzata Gersdorf in a conversation with journalists.

- This situation, where ministry officials attack judges, and those of justice, is not disturbing. It is terrifying. This cannot happen in a state of law, and this is something that must be reflected in real prosecutorial investigations, and those responsible must face deserved punishment - added the First President of the Supreme Court.

- Just as he [Zbigniew Ziobro] once demanded the resignation of the Minister of Justice, I would have expected his resignation a long time ago, because during his tenure, there were also these suicides in prisons, and for that, Minister Ćwiąkalski resigned. Because of that - stated Małgorzata Gersdorf in a conversation with journalists.

- The Presidium of the National Council of the Judiciary receives with great concern media reports concerning the conduct of sitting judges, involving the instigation or supervision of an organized campaign of insinuations and accusations against other judges. While judges, as holders of public authority, may always be the subject of social and media criticism, it is imperative to strongly protest against such actions as have been revealed in recent days - stated in the resolution adopted by the Presidium of the National Council of the Judiciary regarding the organized campaign of insinuations and accusations against judges.

"Such activity deserves the highest condemnation and undermines the dignity of the judicial office, justifying doubts about the impeccable character of the individuals involved – a quality that every judge should possess. In the assessment of the Presidium of the National Council of the Judiciary, it is essential for law enforcement agencies and the appropriate disciplinary ombudsman for judges to thoroughly investigate all media reports."

On Tuesday, the Council of Ministers will adopt the preliminary draft budget for 2020. This was originally scheduled for today, but the session was canceled. The government will have to convene again to approve the final version of the draft, which will then be sent to the Sejm. According to the Constitution, the Council of Ministers shall submit to the Sejm, no later than three months before the start of the budget year, a draft budget law for the following year.

However, this year could see a situation similar to that in 2015 – when the outgoing government adopted a budget draft, but the Sejm did not manage to pass it. In the new Sejm term, PiS adopted a new, amended version, which it then enacted. Time is running short – the last Sejm session of this term will take place in three weeks, from September 11th to 13th. Regardless, the government must fulfill its constitutional obligation and submit the draft to the Sejm.

- When we have any doubts or accusations, which don't necessarily involve breaking the law but rather a poor assessment by Polish society or a certain unease, we resolve these matters very quickly, maintaining a high standard in this regard, approaching politics with humility. The Platforma, however, as evidenced by Neumann, but also Gawłowski, Grabarczyk, Kierwiński, etc., shows that there are no principles here. Loyalty simply rules. The gentlemen are preparing for elections.
