Kukiz on Marital Property Separation in Politics: Transparency Must Be Paramount

- Not only the spouses of politicians [should be transparent], but the politicians themselves. A politician, if they form a family, must naturally be thoroughly scrutinized, there must be openness and transparency, otherwise, misrepresentations can occur. This is not just a matter of the financial statements of politicians' spouses. We have submitted draft laws, for example, an anti-cronyism bill, which is lying in the Sejm's freezer, where we want to clarify family relationships between state officials, employed either in state-controlled companies or by politicians - stated Paweł Kukiz in an interview with Konrad Piasecki on TVN24's "Piasecki's Talk."

08:04

Kukiz on Marital Property Separation: 'Right Now, the Prime Minister is not a businessman, but this business is called Poland. It must be very transparent, clean.'

- In my eyes, it's already incriminating in some way. These details about the land were obtained by [Mateusz Morawiecki] in a way that doesn't seem public to me. Rather, it was secret information, somewhere under the table. One gets the impression that the beneficiary of all these dealings, arrangements, still from the Third Republic. Somewhere under the table, they say: listen, old man, here's a plot of land, etc. It's not a paved road, maybe you'll take it. He says: well, okay, I'll take it, but I'd better take it in my wife's name or transfer it, just in case. Right now, the Prime Minister is not a businessman, but this business is called Poland. It must be very transparent, clean. And that's it. In a normal country, the Prime Minister wouldn't hide behind lawyers or statements. He would simply come out for a conference and say: it was like this, like this, and like this. He would concretely explain the matter- stated Paweł Kukiz in an interview with Konrad Piasecki on TVN24's "Rozmowa Piaseckiego".

08:11

Kukiz on the Pedophilia Commission: It Shouldn't Be an Inquisition. Prosecutors Should Intervene First and Analyze Previous Proceedings

- It certainly shouldn't be an inquisition, that's for sure. Prosecutors should have intervened first and also analyzed previous proceedings, cases, etc. Whether they were actually brought to a conclusion - stated Paweł Kukiz in a conversation with Konrad Piasecki on TVN24's "Rozmowa Piaseckiego".

08:20

Kukiz:

The Church Has a Long Way to Go to Purify Itself. First and Foremost, the Church Should Purge Itself of Pride and Love for Material Goods

- The Church has a long way to go to purify itself. First and foremost, the Church should purge itself of pride. The Church should also purge itself of its love for material goods. The Church should follow the path of Father Tadeusz Isakowicz-Zaleski - stated Paweł Kukiz in an interview with Konrad Piasecki on TVN24's "Piasecki's Talk".

08:26

Kukiz:

If I Don't Cross the Threshold, I'll Spend Years Traveling Poland, Working from the Ground Up

- There can be very different scenarios and solutions. However, if we didn't get into parliament or the European Parliament, but primarily I'm talking about parliament, it would indicate that people actually like this system - stated Paweł Kukiz in an interview with Konrad Piasecki on TVN24's "Rozmowa Piaseckiego".

- If I don't cross the [electoral] threshold, I will certainly spend the following years traveling across Poland, for several years, as much as my strength allows, until the next elections, and I will be doing grassroots work. Positivist work. I will make people realize, those who are convinced they live in a democracy, that they have been deceived, because there has never been and is no democracy here - added the leader of Kukiz'15.

08:28

Kukiz:

There's no option I'd go anywhere with Korwin

- There's no option I'd go anywhere with Korwin. Especially after his statements regarding pedophilia, various matters. There's no option. There is no political interest that would break some of my value system. It doesn't exist - stated Paweł Kukiz in an interview with Konrad Piasecki on TVN24's "Piasecki's Conversation".

08:29

Siemoniak:

Opioła Abused His Position as Head of Secret Services Committee, Misled the Police

"An absolute catastrophe, another example of exploiting uniforms and service equipment. The uniforms served as a backdrop. Officers were used to perform in a party spot. If he had hired a helicopter and actors in uniform from the market, fine. Here, he exploited his position as head of the services committee, misled the police, and the police acted completely passively. It's clear they were intimidated that a PiS politician wanted something" - said PO Vice-Chairman Tomasz Siemoniak in an interview with Beata Lubecka on Radio Zet.

08:30

Siemoniak on Opioła's Ad: A Catastrophe of a Politicized Police Force Cutting Confetti, Guarding Zieliński's Head, and Saluting a PiS MP's Request to Play Against a Black Hawk

Shameless abuse of position and a catastrophe in a politicized police force that cuts confetti, guards the Deputy Minister Zieliński's head, and salutes a PiS MP's request to play against a Black Hawk and police anti-terrorists. This is proof of downfall” – said the Deputy Chairman of Civic Platform (PO), Tomasz Siemoniak, in an interview with Beata Lubecka on Radio Zet.

08:34

Siemoniak:

Grupiński Said Nothing Sensational; We Will Return to Partnership Unions, Such a Bill Will Be Submitted

Rafał Grupiński is one of the most decent politicians I know and honest people. Catching someone out for their words like this, recording them, is very inappropriate. He didn't say anything that would be any particular sensation. I won't say that we will push for [partnership unions]. We will return to this topic. The Sejm will deal with it. The devil is in the details here. We will certainly return to this topic, and such a bill will be submitted. I don't want to talk about the details because it's too early” - said Tomasz Siemoniak, Vice-Chairman of Civic Platform, in an interview with Beata Lubecka on Radio Zet.

08:43

Halicki on Civil Unions: We Made a Mistake by Not Adopting Such a Law. I Have No Doubt That We Will Legally Regulate This Issue in the Next Term
We are dealing with a process where each of us is probably also evolving and changing their awareness. I have quite strong views on this matter, but even today, and probably a dozen years ago, I wouldn't have been so open to the issue of civil unions, I spoke about it a few years ago. Very openly. We made a mistake by not adopting such a law in the previous term when we were still in power. I'm speaking in the context of Platforma. I also have no doubt that in the next term we will legally regulate this issue, however, you are asking about a step further, same-sex unions, and there is certainly no question of [child adoption] regarding that. However, when we talk about the issue of civil unions, 90% of it concerns heterosexual unions – stated Andrzej Halicki in an interview with Piotr Gociek on "Sygnały dnia" PR1. I think that even in the first days, I don't want to say immediately, but right away in the new term, when we have the majority for it, such legal solutions regarding civil unions should be implemented – added the PO MP.

08:48

Brudziński:

EC Politicians Attempting to Narrow the Pedophilia Commission's Scope to Just the Catholic Church

Politicians from the European Coalition are attempting to narrow the work of this commission to one environment, namely the Catholic Church. Perpetrators, even if they wear clerical collars, birettas, or cardinal hats, must obviously be punished, but stating that this problem only affects this segment of society is pulling the wool over people's eyes. This is absolutely not the case. It affects various social groups, which is why we proposed a commission with a much broader scope of action, and we will strive for such a state commission to undertake these investigations” – said Minister Joachim Brudziński in an interview with Piotr Gociek on „Sygnały dnia” on Jedynka radio.

08:48

Brudziński on the Pedophilia Commission: It Should Be State-Run, Not Parliamentary, to Avoid Reducing the Issue to Political Dispute

This commission should be a state commission, not a parliamentary one, in order to avoid reducing this extremely moving and shocking problem to an intensely destructive political dispute that is tearing apart our national fabric. If we were to reduce this problem of an exceptionally vile crime, as our opponents wish, to a clear political fight, to frame it within the context of the ongoing campaign, then it would be abundantly clear who is genuinely interested in investigating, clarifying, and above all, ruthlessly and severely punishing those who commit these crimes, and who is merely interested in stirring up trouble and making a scandal out of it” – said Minister Joachim Brudziński in an interview with Piotr Goćek on “Sygnały dnia” on Polskie Radio Jedynka.

09:10

Halicki on the Campaign Finale: We're Talking About a Convention in Silesia and the Finale in Warsaw, of Course

- We're talking about a convention that will be held in Silesia and the finale, of course, in Warsaw. We'll have that final moment when central media will be following us. There will be meetings with Varsovians, with people, and as for me, until midnight - stated Andrzej Halicki in an interview with Piotr Gocek on "Sygnały dnia" PR1.

09:27

Schetyna:

We are very close, all polls confirm it. There is a great chance to show PiS the red card after several years.

- I appeal to Polish women and men, to all those who are waiting for Sunday's elections. A great choice and a historic moment lie before us. We are on the eve of elections that will decide which direction our country, Poland, will take after May 26th. We are very close, all polls confirm it. There is a great chance to show PiS, PiS's policy, an aggressive, hostile policy, a crooked smile, aggression, the destruction of the rule of law, and the separation of assets, the red card after several years. All of this that we have seen over these past 4 years – stated Grzegorz Schetyna at the European Coalition conference.

09:32

Schetyna:

This is a decisive moment for the future of Poland, our children. That's why we need mobilization

- I am addressing all residents of cities, towns, metropolises, and the Polish countryside. Be at the polling stations on May 26th. Remember that this is not just a civic duty, but a vote for the future of your children. This is a decisive moment for the future of Poland, our children. That's why we need mobilization. We ask you to be at the polling stations to place an 'X' next to the list of the European Coalition committee. We are speaking to all voters of our parties, communities, sympathizers, and organizations that support us: we are together, we have united, we have built a coalition so that we have a chance to win against PiS. And this moment, this day is coming. We ask for your vote, for your unwavering presence at the polling stations next Sunday - stated Grzegorz Schetyna at the European Coalition conference. - We deeply believe in victory - added the PO chairman.

09:37

Trzaskowski:

These Elections Will Decide if Poland is Secure, European, Loyal to Key European Principles, Open, and Tolerant, or if it Will be Weak and Marginalized

These elections are incredibly important. They will decide what Poland will be like, whether Poland will be secure, European, loyal to the most important European values, whether it will be open, tolerant, or if it will be weak and pushed to the margins. These elections will also decide whether money from the EU will be distributed in a way that safeguards Poland's interests, or if EU funds will be allocated solely based on political criteria” - said the Mayor of Warsaw, Rafał Trzaskowski, at a press conference.

09:38

Nowacka:

After 3.5 Years of Protests, We've Been Waiting for Hope. We Are Very Close. The European Coalition Has a Chance to Deliver That Hope, a Chance to Win Against PiS.
"3.5 years of protests, of fighting for the rule of law, for democracy, for women's rights, for a clean environment, for decency. 3.5 years of protests, during which we have all been waiting for hope. We are very close. The European Coalition has a chance to deliver that hope, a chance to win against PiS. The European Coalition will win against PiS, but for that to happen, we must go to the elections. If you are for women's rights, vote for the EC. If animal rights are not just a PR stunt but a real need, and environmental protection is the foundation of your thinking about Poland, vote for the EC. Do you want the rule of law, democracy, and constitutional order to be restored? Vote for the EC." - said Barbara Nowacka from the Polish Initiative during a press conference.

09:41

Lubnauer:

There will be no second round in the European Parliament elections. We must win in the first round.

In the European Parliament elections, there will be no second round. We must win in the first round. Every vote can decide who wins, which is why, as a woman, the leader of the European Coalition, and a mother of a daughter, I am appealing to all women. Girls, women, go to the polls. These elections can choose women, which is why on May 26th – Mother's Day – you must take your children, mothers, sisters, friends and go to the polls. These elections are extremely important. This is a plebiscite on what Poland will be like” – said the leader of Nowoczesna, Katarzyna Lubnauer, at a press conference.

09:44

Czarzasty:

Let's Not Waste Our Votes, Let's Vote for the European Coalition List

- I wanted to address the voters of the left. The left is here, in the European Coalition. I wanted to tell the voters of the left, the voters of the SLD: we are the guarantors in this coalition for all social matters. We are the guarantors in this coalition of a secular state. We are the guarantors in this coalition of speaking the truth about history. We are the guarantors in this coalition that people who were professionally active until 1989 will have their honor, which was taken away from them, returned. That their interests, acquired rights, will be returned to them. We are the guarantors of this. The decision we made, we made very consciously. To the 1.2 million voters who voted for us in the last local and parliamentary elections - I appeal to all ladies and gentlemen, residents. We, as the SLD, are in the European Coalition - stated Włodzimierz Czarzasty at the European Coalition conference.

- I know what a wasted vote means. I know that if we had all been wiser in the last local elections, democracy and reason would have ruled in the regional assemblies in Poland. PiS currently governs in eight voivodeships, which does not guarantee, for example, matters related to in vitro, it does not guarantee that if a very bad law for the residents is passed, this law cannot be softened in these eight voivodeships. I wanted to say this at the end: I know what a wasted vote means, and I know that these elections in a few days, on Sunday, will decide one thing. Whether we give the residents of Poland hope that Poland will be fully democratic, or whether these hopes may collapse. We are really at the end, and we need to talk about it. Let's not waste our vote, let's vote for list number 3, for the European Coalition list - added the leader of the SLD.

Nowacka on Halicki's words: A significant and firm commitment. Żukowska: I respect admitting a mistake

A debate between politicians from the United Left and the Civic Platform regarding the government's actions and potential future policy directions is ongoing. Barbara Nowacka, a prominent figure associated with the United Left, has commented on statements made by Andrzej Halicki of the Civic Platform. Nowacka described Halicki's remarks as "a significant and firm commitment." Meanwhile, Anna Maria Żukowska, also from the United Left, expressed her respect for admitting to past errors. These exchanges highlight the dynamic and often critical nature of political discourse in Poland, particularly concerning accountability and policy shifts.

Tyszka on GW's report on the Morawiecki family's assets: If everything was in order, why are they donating the proceeds from the land sale to charity?

If there were no doubts, then the Prime Minister's wife or their PR team wouldn't be saying that from the sale of this plot, he [the Prime Minister] will donate [the proceeds] to charity. If everything was in order, why would they be donating to charity?” - said Deputy Marshal Stanisław Tyszka in an interview with Jacek Prusinowski in Radio Plus's 'The Heart of the Matter'.

10:08

Tyszka:

Government Operates on the Whim of the USA and Israel

"This is a government that, unfortunately, in many cases operates on the whim of the USA and Israel. Apparently, our foreign partners have forbidden Law and Justice from passing this bill [the so-called 'anti-447' law]. Kukiz'15 opposes this. We should be a proud, sovereign nation that passes its own laws" - said Deputy Marshal Stanisław Tyszka in an interview with Jacek Prusinowski on Radio Plus's "Sedno Sprawy" (The Core of the Matter).

13 Constituencies and 5000 km in 3 Days - The European Coalition Launches Its Biggest Mobilization Campaign of This Election. EC Staffer: We Have a Clear Message and an Appeal Not to Split Votes. Polls Show Only the EC Can Defeat PiS
- We have a massive mobilization campaign planned until Friday 11:59 PM. The leaders of the European Coalition are traveling across Poland, although Grzegorz Schetyna's activities, as the leader, will obviously be the most closely watched - one of the top EC staffers tells 300POLITYCE. - We have a clear message and an appeal not to split votes. Polls show that only the EC is capable of winning against PiS. Every vote will count - an EC politician tells us. On Wednesday, Schetyna will participate in meetings in Siemiatycze in Podlasie, where he will speak about agriculture, and in Biała Podlaska, Mińsk, and Warsaw, where he will return to the message of 100 billion from the EU for "European healthcare." - We want to talk about the problems of social groups under the rule of PiS: with farmers who have been left alone with ASF, with parents about the double-year issue [of children starting school], with patients and doctors about healthcare stagnation, with transport entrepreneurs about the negotiation failure in Brussels, with self-employed entrepreneurs who fear the liquidation of self-employment - we hear.

TVP Publishes Footage of a Disadvantaged Farmer:

Under This Prime Minister, Aid Works Like Never Before.

On Friday, May 17, the Twitter account of TVP Info published a short video showing a farmer who claims that thanks to Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki’s government, he received “aid as never before”. The farmer states that he “did not get any money” under the previous governments.

The video was posted on the occasion of Mateusz Morawiecki’s visit to the village of Pruszkowo in the Mazowieckie Voivodeship, where he participated in a meeting with local residents. The Prime Minister emphasized that he listened to the farmers’ postulates, and the government would try to implement them.

The farmer, whose name is Sławomir Sypniewski, is quoted as saying, “I have lived in this village all my life. I have been farming for 28 years. I did not get any money under the previous governments. Now, under this Prime Minister, the aid works like never before.”

He also added that he received money for the damage caused by the drought. “It’s the first time in my life that I have received money for drought damage,” Sypniewski said.

The publication of the video by TVP Info is part of the state television’s efforts to promote the current government’s policies and achievements. The ruling party, Law and Justice (PiS), has consistently emphasized its support for the agricultural sector, often highlighting the increased subsidies and aid programs available to farmers.

The timing of the publication, shortly before the European Parliament elections, suggests an attempt to influence voters, particularly in rural areas where agriculture plays a significant role in the local economy and political sentiment.

Morawiecki and Szydło in a New PiS Clip:

Vote for Poland
Over the last 3 years, much has been achieved. But there is still much work ahead of us. We must fight for Poland's interests, always putting them first. By voting for Law and Justice, you have a guarantee that you are voting for a better future for your family. That you are voting for Poland - says Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki in a new PiS clip. For 15 years, Poland has belonged to a united Europe, but only now can Polish families count on support from the state, similar to what exists in other Western European countries - says Beata Szydło. https://twitter.com/pisorgpl/status/1131104414654246912

Jaki Demands Clear Stance from Schetyna and European Coalition Leaders on Terezin Declaration: "Will You Implement the Declaration Your Government Accepted in 2009?"
This is an extremely important issue, namely we will be discussing heirless property and Law 447. The Civic Platform, and the European Coalition in general, continue to equivocate on this matter. Yesterday, I asked them about their stance on the Terezin Declaration, because I remind you that the entire problem with Law 447 stems precisely from the declaration accepted by the PO government in 2009, which for the first time ever opened the door to the idea that compensation could be paid for heirless property. Until then, there was a consensus in Poland. After all, Poland was a victim of World War II, so it would not pay for anything. That was obvious. It was only the PO government that changed this. A public question was posed: does the PO government, if it were to regain power, intend to pay compensation for Poland being a victim of World War II, and still there is no reference to the Terezin Declaration, will they implement it, or will they apologize for this declaration - stated Patryk Jaki at a briefing in Nowy Sącz. He added:
"Not only have there been no apologies and no clear declaration regarding the declaration and whether the Civic Platform intends to implement it if they come to power, but yesterday we also saw scandalous words from one of the European Coalition leaders to the European Parliament, Włodzimierz Cimoszewicz, who says this about Law 447: in our country, it is considered a virtue to defend the refusal to return what is owed to someone simply because they were Jewish, and a victim of the Holocaust. It is evident that representatives of the European Coalition here completely misunderstand what we are discussing and what is at stake. I'm very sorry, but who will compensate Poland and pay for the fact that it was a victim of World War II? So many cities were destroyed, so many people were murdered, works of art, real estate, money were plundered from Poland, which was a victim of such a widespread attack because it resisted, behaved honorably, did not want to cooperate with Hitler. I recall that there were many countries that collaborated with Hitler. Today, is Poland to pay for being a victim, for behaving proudly, honorably, for fighting for independence, but also for the honor of all of Europe at the time? Should it have behaved like other countries back then, like many countries that collaborated with Hitler? Therefore, Cimoszewicz's statement unfortunately fits into a whole series of behaviors by European Coalition politicians, and I demand a firm declaration from Grzegorz Schetyna and the leaders of the European Coalition: do you intend to implement the Terezin Declaration, accepted by your government in 2009, which for the first time ever allowed for the idea that one could pay for heirless property, meaning, in effect, for Poland being a victim of World War II. Let the Civic Platform state its position clearly."

Nitras and Tomczyk File Criminal Complaint Against Prosecutor General for "Inaction"
Another day has passed since the public learned of the Polish Episcopate's report detailing cases of pedophilia by priests and monks. This report itself, which we believe was compiled conscientiously, only addresses what the Church managed to ascertain, and it speaks of 382 cases of priests who harmed children through sexual abuse. Another day of discussions and debates has gone by. Today, the Conference of the Polish Episcopate is meeting, as I've heard, to inform the archbishops about how to proceed in this matter. The worst part is that the state doesn't know what to do in this situation. Prosecutor Zbigniew Ziobro doesn't know what to do, and in our opinion, he is violating provisions of the Penal Code by not initiating investigations into the evident breach of law, which is the crime of pedophilia. The question arises: why are Ziobro and the ruling party not initiating investigations in cases of obvious crimes, and crimes that carry very severe penalties? That is why, together with MP Tomczyk, we are filing a complaint with the prosecutor's office regarding the inaction of Prosecutor General Zbigniew Ziobro - stated Sławomir Nitras at a briefing in the Sejm. Poles must always be aware that the state acts in their interest. Poles must be aware that the state will stand by the victims. Over the last 4 years, we have seen that the PiS government has not lived up to its responsibilities, that the PiS government has not stood by children. That the PiS government has not stood by the victims. This is a very serious matter because it concerns the most vulnerable. The state must always stand by the most vulnerable. On the table lies the report from the Conference of the Polish Episcopate, which contains very hard data clearly showing how many children in Poland have been wronged. Despite this, Ziobro's prosecution has done nothing in this matter - said Cezary Tomczyk. One of the first decisions of the new government and parliament, following the European Coalition's election victory, will be the decision to establish a truth commission, which will be able to independently of politicians, investigate all injustices related to the activities of state institutions - added the Civic Platform MP.

PiS Volunteers in Call Center Dialing Supporters and Voters to Mobilize for Elections

- On the final stretch of the campaign, PiS has focused on mobilization. A series of actions and initiatives are intended to maximally motivate the PiS electorate - a strategist from the ruling party tells 300POLITYKA in an interview.

Starting today, a spot with a mobilizing message "By voting for PiS, you have a guarantee that you are voting for a good future for your family, that you are voting for Poland" is being aired on television. Our interviewees emphasize that "a surprise and a new format is the fact that Prime Minister Morawiecki and Deputy Prime Minister Szydło are narrators in the spot."

- Alongside traditional activities, such as commercials and meetings with the electorate, a group of volunteers has been working for a week, constantly calling PiS supporters and voters, mobilizing them to go to the polls. This is an action in the style of American campaigns, which guarantee direct reach to voters - a strategist from the ruling party explains to 300POLITYCE.

- All hands on deck. We are using all tools to reach voters. PiS has always been innovative in this area, and in this campaign, we are also ahead of our competitors in this regard - our interviewee emphasizes.

Kaleta:

The discussed interpretation of the amendment is incorrect, however, to avoid conflating the discussion on pedophilia with Article 212, the ministry will request the withdrawal of the amendment to Article 212 in the Senate.

Timmermans:

I Was a Victim of a Pedophile Priest
I say this as a victim of pedophilia. Forgiveness is one of the most liberating things I have experienced. But for that to happen, perpetrators must admit guilt and be punished. Not remain silent and be above the law - said Frans Timmermans during a joint conference with Robert Biedroń. During his visit to Warsaw, Frans Timmermans revealed that he was a victim of pedophilia by a priest in his childhood. - I too was a victim of a pedophile priest. And I would like to say this now to all victims: do not be ashamed. It is not your fault. You have done nothing wrong. You are the victims - Timmermans said. Timmermans admitted that he himself is a Catholic, but "there is no place for impunity in the Church." - The Catholic Church is my church. All cases of pedophilia must be thoroughly investigated. If anyone has committed a crime, they belong in the prosecutor's office. There can be no place for impunity - said the Vice-President of the European Commission. Timmermans, who was visiting Poland at the invitation of Robert Biedroń's Wiosna party, also commented on the entire debate about the scale of pedophilia in the Church and its cover-up by church hierarchy, which is currently taking place in Poland following the premiere of the film "Only Don't Tell Anyone" by the Sekielski brothers: - Many countries have gone through what Poland is going through now over the last 15 years. The Church needs truth and reconciliation. But first, it must admit guilt.

Morawiecki's EU Opening: Discussion with Merkel on Central Europe's Greater Role in New European Commission. French Economy Minister: Paris Should Pay More Attention to Poland

Initiated by Angela Merkel, a phone conversation between Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki and the German Chancellor will take place this afternoon, 300POLITYKA has learned. According to our sources, the heads of government will discuss the appointment of key EU positions. - In light of escalating political disputes in Europe, the possibility of selecting candidates previously nominated by the largest parties in the European Parliament is in question. This is an opportunity to restore the principle that member states will decide on the position of the President of the European Commission - we hear from the Prime Minister's circle.

- Poland will also strive for the geographical criterion to be taken into account when filling the most important positions and for the interests of Central Europe to be duly represented - says one of the most important Polish diplomats.

Polish diplomats point to yesterday's statement by the French Minister of Economy and Finance, Bruno Le Maire, who directly stated at a meeting with journalists that "Paris should pay more attention to Poland, which will soon be one of the largest countries in the EU. "France has underestimated Poland and made a mistake. It should from now on pay more attention to it, respect it and build joint economic and financial projects with it" - Le Maire declared during a meeting with the association of French journalists. The statement is quoted by PAP. The minister recalled that Poland's economic growth is among the best in Europe.

12:35

Schetyna:

We Will Be in All 13 Constituencies Until Friday, Until the Last Minutes of the Campaign. We Want to Show How Important This Campaign Is

- We will be in all 13 constituencies until Friday, until the evening, until midnight, the last minutes of the campaign. We want to show how important this campaign is, the presence, and also the opportunity to listen and see what is needed. We are starting in a place, as Tomasz Frankowski said, where the EU begins, where everything begins, and we know how important it is to make good use of European money and EU opportunities, to dedicate resources and funds here, so that we can constantly talk about such great matters as this huge investment in Ikea, which provides opportunities for all of us, expansion to the East, Belarus, Belarusian markets, for Polish entrepreneurs, those who invest and produce. But for this to happen, infrastructure is important - stated Grzegorz Schetyna in Drohiczyn.

- As the author of the "Schetynówki" program, I declare that we will return with money that will be distributed by local government officials, marshals, dedicated to districts and municipalities, serving the residents - added the Civic Platform leader.

Neumann:

We are submitting a request for an urgent Sejm session and assigning a print number to the 'Clean Hands' bill for rapid processing

- On Sunday, there are elections, and Poles face one of the most important choices and decisions. Until then, Poles should know everything about the Prime Minister and his assets, his wife, especially after the information that has outraged public opinion regarding the unclear circumstances of the purchase of a large plot of land worth tens of millions of zlotys. For two weeks, we have been discussing how Iwona Morawiecka should present her asset declaration. Platforma has proposed the 'Clean Hands' bill. We submitted it yesterday to the Marshal of the Sejm, hoping it will be processed quickly so that before the elections, Poles can get the full, complete information about the financial status of the Polish Prime Minister, his wife, to whom he largely transferred his assets. Poles deserve this. If someone talks about transparency and honesty in politics, then all the promises made by Kaczyński and Morawiecki regarding any pledges they make are as credible as the lack of an asset declaration from Iwona Morawiecka and Mateusz Morawiecki regarding their assets. To this day, we do not know what, besides the plot of land we all know about, purchased under unclear circumstances from the Catholic Church, Morawiecki or his wife possesses. Because surely it's not just the plot of land. This is the tip of the iceberg, and this transaction causes great surprise and raises many questions. We want to appeal to the Marshal of the Sejm to urgently convene the Sejm and adopt the bill. If Mateusz Morawiecki and his wife do not have the courage to show their asset declarations to Poles before election Sunday, if PiS and Kaczyński want to talk about honesty in politics, about the transparency of the most important people in the state, then tomorrow is the time. There is the Senate; we can adopt this bill tomorrow morning at a Sejm session. The President can sign it quickly; he often does, and even before Sunday, Poles can learn about the financial status of Mateusz Morawiecki and his wife, and from what money it was financed. Poles deserve this - stated Sławomir Neumann at a briefing in the Sejm.

- We are submitting a request to the Marshal of the Sejm for an urgent convening of a [Sejm] session and assigning a print number to the 'Clean Hands' bill so that it can be processed quickly - he added.

Kaczyński:

Maximum Effort, Including Compensation, for Flood Victims

"A maximum effort will be made, and all actions relating to compensation will also be carried out with full kindness towards those who have fallen or have already fallen victim to the floods. I also wanted to express my sympathy for all those who have already fallen victim to the floods or are currently at risk," said party leader Jarosław Kaczyński.

13:28

Kaczyński:

Cimoszewicz's Statement on Claims Filled with Great Dislike for Poland and Poles. No One from the European Coalition Disavowed It, Thus It Must Be Treated as the Entire Coalition's Stance

We have Mr. Cimoszewicz’s statement, from which it follows that we have to pay [compensation for lost, non-hereditary property - editorial note]. This statement has another characteristic feature. It is full of such great dislike for Poland and Poles. It is characteristic, but astonishing, that no one from the European Coalition has disavowed it. Therefore, it must be treated as the stance of the entire Civic Coalition” - stated President Jarosław Kaczyński.

13:29

Kaczyński on Jewish Claims: Morally and in Every Other Respect Absurd. We Do Not Agree and Have No Intention of Paying Anything. It Was Germany That Attacked Poland

Regarding claims, allow me to use an analogy. We have a house where two families live. One is much larger, the other smaller, and this house is attacked by bandits. One of these families, the smaller one, is almost entirely murdered, and the other, partially, and additionally beaten, robbed, and humiliated. And then, someone demands compensation not from those who attacked, but from the family that was not completely murdered. According to the bandits' plans, it was supposed to be almost entirely murdered, but the course of events did not allow for that” – said party leader Jarosław Kaczyński.

We are dealing with something that is morally absurd and absurd in every other respect. We, of course, do not agree to such claims and have no intention of paying anything. It was Germany that attacked Poland, it murdered almost all Jews. Those who were saved were saved thanks to Poles, and it must have been a large group of people who were willing to take risks, because to save one Jew, many Poles had to cooperate in one way or another. One person was not able to do it” – he added.

13:29

Kaczyński:

Not Laws, Because Laws Can Be Changed Quickly, But Only PiS Power is the Sole Guarantee We Won't Pay Compensation. Paying It Would Mean Admitting We Were Allies of Hitler

Not laws, because laws can be changed and very quickly, but only PiS power is the sole, true guarantee that we will not pay, we will not suffer huge financial damages and – what is even more important – great damages to our dignity or – as it is said today – reputational damages. Paying this would mean nothing else than admitting that we were in essence allies of Hitler. We will never agree to that” – said PiS leader Jarosław Kaczyński.

Ziobro:

Understanding This is an Important Social Issue and Responding to Expectations and Discussion, I Have Decided to Withdraw the Amendment to Article 212 of the Penal Code within the Senate's Revision

In connection with the fact that a false, untrue statement has appeared in the public debate, that we want to toughen criminal liability for the offense of defamation, this also does not correspond to reality. Sanctions for offenses under Article 212 will not change by even one day. It is as it was. We are not toughening criminal sanctions, nor is the scope of liability that covers defamation increasing. We have only added a paragraph that refers to the creation of false evidence for use in court proceedings. However, since this matter is arousing such emotions and can be interpreted as we sometimes encounter in the media, understanding that this is an important social issue and responding to expectations and discussion on this matter, I have decided to withdraw this amendment within the revision that we will submit in the Senate” – said Minister Zbigniew Ziobro at a press conference.

After the elections, I would like to meet with representatives of your [journalists’] community for a working meeting and to establish further debate on potential changes to this provision” – he added.

Schetyna on EP Elections: 'It's Essentially the First Round of Parliamentary Elections'

This is essentially the first round of parliamentary elections. We want to treat it very seriously, with mobilization and by showing how much we care about Poland utilizing this great opportunity of being in the European Union, so that we can say that we once again have a large EU budget allocated for Polish investments, in regions like Lubelszczyzna. These funds will be spent well by well-organized, sensible local government officials at the city, district, and municipality levels. All of this has been happening over the last few years. This extra 100 billion [złoty], which we are talking about, that the PiS government cannot negotiate because it has conflicts in the Union, in the European Parliament, because it doesn't seek friends and partners, but enemies. We promise an extra 100 billion for the next perspective” - said the Civic Platform (PO) leader, Grzegorz Schetyna, at a press conference in Biała Podlaska.

PM Morawiecki: I've decided to head to Eastern Małopolska, where residents and services are battling the elements

W ostatnich dniach w Małopolsce doszło do serii gwałtownych burz, którym towarzyszyły silne wiatry, ulewne deszcze i grad. Wiele miejscowości zostało zalanych, a drogi zablokowane przez powalone drzewa i gruzy.

Służby ratownicze, straż pożarna i wolontariusze pracują non-stop, aby pomagać poszkodowanym, usuwać skutki nawałnic i przywracać normalne funkcjonowanie w regionie.

Instead of Minister Zalewska Fleeing to Brussels, We Want Her to Pay for What Local Governments and Parents Are Paying for Today Due to the Completely Stupid and Unnecessary Education 'Deform'

- Before Minister Zalewska flees to Brussels, we would like to ask the minister to simply settle her bill, to pay for what local governments and parents are paying for today, for this completely stupid and unnecessary education 'deform' - stated Robert Biedroń at a press conference in Wrocław.

- Minister Zalewska has a certain bill to settle, which she has not settled so far. Today, a Supreme Audit Office (NIK) report was released, which summarizes the so-called education reform, but the name 'education deform' has already entered the canon of the Polish language. The NIK report, which is devastating for the Ministry of National Education (MEN), showing that unfortunately this 'deform', as a former local government official I can say, we knew and have been saying for a long time, cost local governments, contrary to what MEN claimed, enormous amounts of money - added the leader of Wiosna.

Schetyna:

For Poland to Change Effectively, We Need European Funds. We Want to Repeat Successful Negotiations. We Must Win EP and Parliamentary Elections
We want to mobilize, we are appealing to the residents of Poland, Podlasie, Mazovia, Lublin region, Świętokrzyskie, Podkarpacie, about how important this part of our country is, how important European funds are, how effectively we need to reach for them so that we can continue to talk about the modernization process, which we have managed to conduct all this time. We know that it must continue, that for Poland to change effectively, we need European funds. That is why we talk so much about this chance for good, effective negotiations, the kind that took place in 2011 and determined PLN 500 billion for the years 2014-2020 in the EU financial perspective, dedicated to Poland. We want to repeat successful negotiations, we want the same funds here, now for the years 2021-2027. For this to happen effectively, we must win the EP elections, have a sensible, well-functioning, cohesive team there, and we must win the parliamentary elections. That's all there is to it, and it's that much – stated Grzegorz Schetyna at a briefing in Mińsk Mazowiecki.

Animal Rights Organizations Write to Biedroń Regarding Scheuring-Wielgus: "Her words are unethical and show a complete lack of empathy for the animals who have given the MP their love and trust"
"As animal protection organizations that have been fighting animal homelessness for years, we ask you to take a stance on the discrepancy between the declarations and the actual actions of Member of Parliament Joanna Scheuring-Wielgus concerning her relinquishing her two private dogs to a shelter." This is the content of a letter posted on Facebook, signed by several major organizations that help abused or homeless animals, including Viva!, OTOZ Animals, and Straż dla Zwierząt (Animal Welfare Society). "The MP's response to the revelation of information about this event is shocking and incomprehensible to us. The statements, "in a new apartment, my dogs wouldn't have the space they are accustomed to and would simply suffer," and "nobody wanted mutts," are unethical and demonstrate a complete lack of empathy for the animals who have given the MP their love and trust," - we read in the letter. "Shelters exist because Poland has a global scale of animal homelessness. Currently, nearly 100,000 animals reside in them. These places are a last resort, not a safe haven. Relinquishing one's most loyal friends from the home they love to the worst possible place for them appears to us as cruel and irresponsible. We remind you that in 2016, when this situation occurred, the MP was already engaged in public activity, was a known and respected individual. She could have easily found new homes for her dogs if her life situation required it. Her popularity on social media and the multitude of animal protection organizations would have helped solve the problem," - write the authors of the letter.

Schetyna on PiS Leader's Response to "Clean Hands" Bill: Classic PiS Manipulation

- Classic PiS manipulation [the PiS leader's response to the "Clean Hands" bill]. Our proposal "Clean Hands" in connection with this very debatable and controversial purchase of a large plot of land in Wrocław, the division of marital property, which was initiated by the current Prime Minister, and now the head of a bank, and the transfer of everything to his wife. If there is to be transparency, then our proposal clarifies the matter. Spouses of the highest-ranking state officials should also submit asset declarations, so that the matter is clear and transparent - stated Grzegorz Schetyna in an interview with Bogdan Rymanowski on the program "Wydarzenia i opinie” Polsat News.

19:58

Schetyna:

My Assets Are Clear and Transparent
I will say more. We have never had a separation of property. We have always had community property and my assets have been clear and transparent for 25 years - stated Grzegorz Schetyna in an interview with Bogdan Rymanowski on the program “Wydarzenia i opinie” on Polsat News.

20:00

Radziwiłł:

The Morawieckis bought the plot, they didn't embezzle. The whole story doesn't mention the plot being bought for a nominal fee or anything like that.
- The Morawieckis bought this plot, they did not embezzle. In the whole story, it is not mentioned that the plot was bought for a nominal fee, or anything like that. There was land that someone didn't need, and the Morawieckis, having not a huge amount of cash, but some sum, bought it. Everything is worth as much as someone wants to pay for it and the one who sells it wants to sell it. And here there is no accusation that it was sold cheaper than it should have been, and there can be no talk of any embezzlement - said Konstanty Radziwiłł in Fakty po Faktach.

20:02

Schetyna:

This Election Campaign Shows PiS's Best Days Are Behind Them. They're Dousing a Fire with Gasoline

- This election campaign shows that PiS's best days are behind them. Because they have absolutely no idea about the projects they're talking about, which they present at press conferences to put out a fire. They're dousing a fire with gasoline. If they want asset declarations to cover spouses, adult children, councilors, voivodes, marshals, you will see how the PiS 'caste' enriched itself over the last 4 years. In supervisory boards, state-owned companies, State Treasury companies. Everyone will see. Chairman Kaczyński has no idea what he is doing to his formation. He is simply demolishing it. I can promise you that [after the elections] he will have to withdraw from this, because this demolition of the entire PiS formation, which functions based on such relationships - stated Grzegorz Schetyna in an interview with Bogdan Rymanowski on the program "Wydarzenia i opinie" on Polsat News.

20:09

Schetyna:

The issue of unclaimed property is another matter where PiS completely misreads the mood

- Of course not [Civic Platform will not pay compensation for so-called unclaimed property]. This is another matter where PiS completely misreads the mood. He is igniting it, trying to create a situation now that is meant to scare Poles. We remember the old problem, how he did it with refugees in 2015. This time it didn't work in the local elections. They don't understand what Poles expect. They expect honest, normal relations, an explanation of the issue of pedophilia in the Church, and normal relations between politics and the citizen, and that is absent - stated Grzegorz Schetyna in an interview with Bogdan Rymanowski in the program "Wydarzenia iopinie” Polsat News.

20:11

Radziwiłł on Asset Declarations: No Legal Basis Today. Everyone Must Agree Such Solutions Will Exist. We are Preparing to Resolve This Issue
- There is no legal basis today. Everyone must agree that such solutions will exist. But as it stands, current regulations do not obligate certain individuals to do so. They are obligated to submit declarations but not to publish them. If we want to change this, the regulations need to be changed. We are preparing to resolve this issue - said Konstanty Radziwiłł on FpF.

20:12

Schetyna:

There is no issue of claims. There isn't, and there won't be.

- There is no issue of claims. There isn't, and there won't be. The fact that PiS has led to an atomic war with the entire external world, that it is in conflict, that there is an election campaign in Israel based on an attack on Poland, that the Polish ambassador is being attacked – these are all facts – stated Grzegorz Schetyna in a conversation with Bogdan Rymanowski on Polsat News's program "Wydarzenia i opinie".

20:16

Schetyna:

Konfederacja are Kaczyński's political children, and PiS will pay for it

- They [Konfederacja] were bred by PiS. They are Kaczyński's children, Kaczyński's political children. And PiS will pay for that. In these elections. You will see what the situation will be like before the parliamentary elections - stated Grzegorz Schetyna in a conversation with Bogdan Rymanowski on the program "Wydarzenia i opinie" on Polsat News.

20:27

Schetyna on Civil Partnerships: European Coalition Will Decide After October. I Believe Poland is Ready for a Debate

- The European Coalition will decide, we will all decide on this after October [regarding civil partnerships]. At what stage the conversation is and what we want. He believes that Poland is prepared, ready to conduct a debate and make a decision on this - stated Grzegorz Schetyna in an interview with Bogdan Rymanowski on the program "Wydarzenia i opinie" (Events and Opinions) on Polsat News.

20:47

Mucha:

After the Passage of Act 447, President Duda's Trip to the USA Worries Me
- It must be stated unequivocally: Poland has no obligations towards other countries and citizens of other countries. This must be stated unequivocally. Secondly, when we were in power, no country even thought of having any doubts, of subjecting this thesis to scrutiny. When you conduct a partnership policy with both the EU and the USA, and maintain good relations with Israel, this topic did not arise. Another issue: Decree 447 is a document that talks about monitoring and does not obligate us to anything. From our side, there will be no action or appeasement here. But in a situation where PiS's foreign policy has been so clearly redirected towards relations with the USA, and in a situation where the USA is a much stronger partner to Israel than Poland is, then today, after the passage of Act 447, President Duda's trip to the USA worries me. I fear that he may be placed in a situation of some form - I don't want to say blackmail - but if we have prioritized this line of international contacts, then we have put ourselves in an extremely difficult situation - Joanna Mucha said on Kropka nad I.

21:02

Tyszka:

The Sekielski Brothers Did the State's Job. Neither the State Ruled by PO nor PiS Rose to the Occasion and Did Not Effectively Prosecute These Individuals Throughout the Entire Third Republic.
- The Sekielski brothers did the state's job. Neither the state ruled by PO nor by PiS rose to the occasion and did not effectively prosecute these individuals throughout the entire Third Republic. All these priests are former secret collaborators of the SB, a lack of reckoning with communism, the constant presence of people with roots in the Polish People's Republic. The state had knowledge of these people, why weren't they prosecuted, and they could commit such disgusting crimes - Stanisław Tyszka said on Kropka nad I.

-- "We admit that as shepherds of the Church, we have not done everything to prevent harm," wrote the clergy after the deliberations of the Permanent Synod of the Polish Episcopate. This is the first meeting of the most important bishops after the outbreak of the pedophilia scandal. In June, Charles Scicluna, the archbishop from Malta who led to the resignation of the Episcopate in Chile, is expected to visit Poland.

-- A PRIEST FROM TYLAWA CELEBRATES MASSES: He was never excommunicated, he celebrates mass, hosts programs on Radio Maryja, and sits on the chapter of distinguished clergy. This is Father Michał M. from Tylawa – a dozen or so years ago, his case was one of the first high-profile pedophilia scandals in the Church. Father Michał M. molested six girls in the parish of Tylawa in Podkarpacie in the past, for which he was convicted.

-- LITTLE EUROPE IN THE EUROPEAN CAMPAIGN: The elections are European, but there has been little of Europe in the election campaign. PiS focused on worldview issues and social matters. Robert Biedroń's Spring also did so – only their worldview is somewhat different from Jarosław Kaczyński's.

-- ARLETA ZALEWSKA ON THE PRIEST'S GENERAL NOMINATION: A photo from December 17, 2018, published on the website of the National Security Bureau, documents the presentation of the general nomination to Colonel Priest Żarski. It is not the President who does this, but the head of the BBN, and only 10 months after the colonel was promoted to a higher rank. The President did not want to answer questions about that nomination. What raises doubts among some military personnel is the fact that the Colonel Priest had been in retirement for eight years. Such special promotions, as emphasized by the former deputy head of intelligence at NATO headquarters, have so far been reserved exclusively for war heroes.

-- TOMASZ SIEMONIAK: A very bad gesture, as it uses the state and the highest military ranks for some social arrangements. Such a promotion has never happened in any case other than for a war hero.

-- THE REQUEST WAS FROM MACIEREWICZ - ZALEWSKA: The request for promotion was first submitted by Minister Antoni Macierewicz. However, at that time, the President did not accept the nomination. After changes in the positions of Prime Minister and Minister of National Defense, Mariusz Błaszczak upheld the request, and the Prime Minister approved it, and this time the President granted the nomination.

-- ZALEWSKA ON THE PRIEST'S CONFLICT WITH KOMOROWSKI: The year 2010 was crucial for the end of the priest's military career. He was then the deputy bishop ordinary. Bishop Płoski died in the Smoleńsk plane crash. Father Żarski later became one of the candidates for his successor. After a sermon on Independence Day, the priest got into a conflict with the then-President Bronisław Komorowski. This, to a greater or lesser extent, blocked his further promotion.

-- THE SENATE CAN CHANGE THE MISTAKE: Experts are dumbfounded, and political opponents criticize the new provisions in the Penal Code authored by PiS. According to lawyers, instead of stricter penalties for pedophilia, we have their liberalization. The Minister of Justice does not admit to the mistake, but the Senate can change the provision.
