PiS Announces Grand Finale Convention in Krakow at 11:00 AM

PiS campaign strategists, speaking with 300POLITYKA, state that the final convention, commencing at 11:00 AM, is set to be larger than any previous event. Our sources also emphasize that this Krakow event, held on the final weekend of the campaign, has been prepared with significantly greater scope than earlier ones. Speakers during the convention are expected to include Jarosław Kaczyński and Mateusz Morawiecki, among others.

Brudziński:

Just a few years ago, you were the ones fighting, but against those who wanted to punish pedophilia
- When I hear Grzegorz Schetyna delivering a tirade in Szczecin, shifting responsibility for protecting pedophiles onto the police, under the alleged political heel of Law and Justice, is that a responsible attitude for a politician or an attempt at confrontation, at the cost of the trauma of those most harmed, namely children. If only we could discuss this topic without the dispute that is destroying the Polish political scene. If I hear Schetyna and other MPs from Civic Platform using this topic to wage total war, to run over the opposition with their steamroller. Just a few years ago, it was you who were fighting, but against those who wanted to punish pedophilia. We remember Dorota Stalińska's tirades that 13-year-old girls push themselves into bed, because it was about Mr. Polański - said Joachim Brudziński in Woronicza 17.

10:26

Apel:

State Apparatus Failed When Pedophilia Cases Involve Prominent Figures, Clergy, Celebrities. I Will Submit a Special Act Mandating Reporting of Crimes if Aware of Them Within the Last 10 Years
- The state apparatus failed when pedophilia cases involve prominent figures, well-known priests, and celebrities. This is not just a matter of the severity of punishment, but of environmental cover-ups. This must be stopped. This act only increases penalties. I will submit a special act that mandates the reporting of a crime if one is aware of such a crime within the last 10 years – said Piotr Apel from Kukiz'15 on Woronicza 17.

10:31

Brudziński:

The goal is for the hierarchical Church, with state support, to find a way to react ruthlessly and quickly, and to find a way to make amends. If such a commission is to be formed, it must address everyone.
- The goal is for the hierarchical Church, with state support, to find a way to react ruthlessly and quickly, and to find a way to make amends. If such a commission is to be formed, it must address everyone. After all, who else but the current Mayor of Warsaw relativizes, talking about Roman Polański's merits for culture. I'll say this: nothing doing, no one is allowed any more in this matter. The Church, through the mouth of the primate, said what should have been said. Cardinal Nycz has appointed such a commission – said Joachim Brudziński at Woronicza 17.

10:32

Schetyna:

We Will Rebuild Free Courts, Restore the Rule of Law, the Prosecution Service Will Be Independent Again, and the Police Free from Party Influence

- Today's authorities, we see this every day, are destroying the courts, the prosecution service, and the police. This is damage that we can and will repair, because we will rebuild free courts, restore the rule of law, the prosecution service will be independent again, and the police free from party influence. Justice will be the same for everyone, because before the law, there are no equals and no more equal than others. On the other hand, we can say that they are destroying education, which is true, and it is an unforgivable sin, a void and a loss for several generations of children. It is the humiliation of teachers, stress and chaos for parents and students. It will be difficult to make up for this, but we will also manage with this. Together with teachers, local governments, and parents, we will create the best education and make up for these losses. Teachers who have been deprived of their salaries will receive what they are entitled to. We promise them this today - stated Grzegorz Schetyna at the Civic Platform convention in Krakow.

10:34

Schetyna:

We Have a Plan to Achieve European-Level Healthcare in Poland

- The PiS government is losing 100 billion PLN in EU funds. We've been talking about this for weeks. We will recover these funds and allocate them, among other things, to introduce European healthcare. Today's healthcare system, we all know this, is an absolute disaster. People are dying in emergency rooms, facing months-long queues for specialists. They fall ill and die poisoned by smog. Patients in rural areas are often effectively cut off from medical care. The situation is bad, and we know it won't change before the elections. But we have a plan to achieve European-level healthcare in Poland - stated Grzegorz Schetyna at the Civic Coalition (KE) convention in Krakow.

10:40

Schetyna:

What is given will not be taken away

- We will not take anything away. What is given will not be taken away - stated Grzegorz Schetyna at the Civic Platform (KE) convention in Krakow.

10:46

Brudziński:

In the cartoon 'Once Upon a Time... Man', there were two heroes: Wredal and Konus. And when I listen to Schetyna and Tusk, I wonder which one is Wredal and which is Konus. Every time something good happens in the country, one or the other pops
- I wouldn't want to trivialize this latest attempt to destabilize emotions from Grzegorz Schetyna and Donald Tusk. We remember 2016 and the speeches during the so-called coup, the words about modern Bolsheviks and PiS locusts. Yesterday, Donald Tusk reached the ayatollahs. The next step might only be a reference to the charming fairy tale 'Once Upon a Time... Man', which had two heroes: Wredal and Konus. And when I listen to Schetyna and Tusk, I wonder which one is Wredal and which is Konus. Every time something good happens in the country, one or the other pops up: how to harm, how to bite, how to sting. Yesterday, Donald Tusk nervously waved his hand, threatened, anger on the beach. He saw this mediocrity from the stage, despite assurances, despite the framing that there would be thousands, millions, because he saw how few people came. At the peak of Donald Tusk's speech, there were 7,000 people. Just look at the aerial photos from the peak moment. These bad emotions that he brought to Polish politics, breaking treaties and good customs. He is doing everything to destabilize the democratically elected government – said Joachim Brudziński in Woronicza 17.

10:52

Schetyna:

You Can Arrest or Destroy All Projectors in This Country, But You Can't Erase People's Memories
We saw it yesterday in Busko Zdrój, where an associate of the ruling politicians attacked police officers with a knife. We've been seeing it for 4 years, when situations like hanging portraits of MPs by other associates of prominent politicians do not provoke any energetic action from the judiciary. If we allow the state to enter into an alliance with evil, to condone lies, to silence victims and pat perpetrators on the back, how are people supposed to identify with them? It's simply impossible, and we will put an end to this. Poland cannot stand on the side of evil, because Poles want to love it and want to believe in it, and they have a sacred right to do so. It was by hiding the truth, by covering up pedophiles, that a great power like the Catholic Church has faltered. Pope Francis is facing an unprecedented crisis worldwide today. We cannot allow this disease to spread to our state. We will not allow it. And this is precisely what PiS is doing today. They are trying to draw a conspiracy of silence into the state structures. They are trying to muddy the waters in every way. Instead of dealing with the victims and prosecuting the perpetrators, they invent political and media tricks to distract attention. I want to ask, are bricklayers and artists really the biggest threat here, is that really the case? Are they truly beyond punishment? Does a trade union of bricklayers, bakers, or actors effectively protect its members from the justice system? Is the height of the penalties really the problem, or rather the fact that some can easily avoid any penalty at all? Everyone knows who is immune in this matter. Everyone saw who silenced the victims. Millions of people saw it with their own eyes, heard the confessions of guilt. You can arrest or destroy all the projectors in this country, but you can't erase people's memories - stated Grzegorz Schetyna at the Civic Coalition convention in Krakow.

10:59

Schetyna:

We waited too long for this free Poland to let it be defiled

- If, at the hands of this government, the state turns its back on suffering children, if it dons a sanctimonious mask and sides with those who harm, against those who suffer, if the state, before our very eyes, allows itself to be drawn into a conspiracy of silence, if it turns a deaf ear to the tragedy of children simply to appease friendly and influential hierarchs, then Poles will turn away from it with disgust. This would be the worst day of our lives, which is why we cannot allow it - stated Grzegorz Schetyna at the Civic Coalition (KE) convention in Krakow.

- We waited too long for this free Poland to let it be defiled. Please forgive my emotions, but this matter concerns all of us. All those we love most. I am a father and a Pole; for half my life, I dreamed of living in an independent country. Here, with one fell swoop, they reach for both children and a sovereign state. So I very much ask everyone, let us stand firm together. Fathers, mothers, Polish women, Polish men. Let's say it loud and clear: not one step further on this matter - he added.

11:04

Schetyna:

We Must Appoint a State, Independent Commission to Address Cases of Pedophilia in the Church
The state cannot wait. The state has its obligations. There are victims, perpetrators, a conspiracy of silence, and a system of concealing the guilty. We have all seen this with our own eyes. The Church may or may not help. The state must act in this matter regardless. I have spoken about this before; we want a truth commission because truth is what we need most today. We must appoint a state, independent commission to address cases of pedophilia in the Church, not to act against the Church, but to help the Church. To cleanse itself and atone for its sins. We want a state, independent truth commission because our state needs the truth - stated Grzegorz Schetyna at the Civic Platform (KE) convention in Krakow. - We cannot wait with this until the autumn elections. In this matter, one should not look at any elections at all. The damage here can be irreversible, and action must be taken immediately - he added. - Tomorrow, I will present you with the basic assumptions. We want the appointment of a truth commission, but I state right away that we will not agree to it being a commission for diluting responsibility and diverting attention - emphasized the PO chairman. - I know that Prof. Płatek, Jolanta Banach, and her team are working on their project. We do not yet know the results of their work, but I declare in advance that we neither want to compete with them nor take anything away from them. However, we will certainly read this project with the greatest attention and, where possible, we will help and implement it - he noted.

11:40

Kaczyński:

We Don't Want to Sexualize Children from Kindergarten. We Don't Want Teachers in Schools Who Say Pornography Serves Primary School Pupils

- What kind of Europe do we want? First and foremost, one where Poland will not follow anyone's orders. It will be a sovereign country. It will not be anyone's client. It will be able to pursue its own interests. Of course, in cooperation with others, including making various compromises, because they are unavoidable in such a large union of states, but its own. This is very important. Secondly, we do not want an ideological Europe. That is, one that will impose on us how to raise children. Parents are responsible for that. We do not want to sexualize children from kindergarten, we do not want all these astounding ideas. We do not want in schools those ladies who say that pornography serves primary school pupils well. Anyone watching television could have seen it recently. Simply put, we do not want all of that, including what Mr. Grupiński spoke about, which he currently does not want to publicly admit to, but which will certainly be implemented if they win. We do not want such a Europe and we will strive for it to be different - stated Jarosław Kaczyński at the PiS convention in Krakow.

PiS Uses Grupiński's Statement on Partnership Unions at Convention in Krakow:

We Will Certainly Act Progressively on This Matter, but After October

PiS quickly seized upon Rafał Grupiński's statement from Civic Platform regarding partnership unions, which has been circulating online for several hours. The recording was presented at a convention in Krakow, and Jarosław Kaczyński also spoke about it. It can be expected that the statement will be further "promoted" by PiS in the coming hours and days.

11:52

Kaczyński:

We Want a Europe of Freedom. Freedom in All Areas, Including the Internet. No to ACTA2
- We do not want the introduction of the euro in Poland. This experiment has benefited a few countries, mainly Germany, but it has brought economic and social disaster to many countries. It would also bring disaster to Poland - stated Jarosław Kaczyński at the PiS convention in Krakow. - We want a safe Europe and a safe Poland. That is, one where there will be no uncontrolled, imposed immigration. Where there will be no rule of Sharia in various parts of the country. Where we will be the real masters of our homeland - he added.
"We want a Europe of freedom. Freedom in all areas, including the internet. No to ACTA2. But this freedom is threatened not only on the internet. It is not so much threatened as one might even say abolished in many European countries. It even happens that criminal law intervenes, but even where it doesn't, we are dealing with a radical limitation of freedom in higher education institutions and various spheres of life. This cannot happen in Poland."

11:56

Kaczyński Appeals to Voters: 'Even if you've never supported us, consider if our offer is better for Poland and Europe'
- I am not addressing activists. What they are like, we saw in that film just now. But I am addressing voters. Think. Even if you have never supported us, and even if you do not support us at this moment, consider whether our offer is not, after all, better for Poland and Europe – stated Jarosław Kaczyński at the PiS convention in Krakow.

11:59

Kaczyński:

There is One Guarantee That Poland Will Not Pay for Germany's WWII Crimes. That Guarantee is PiS Rule

- Some say: let's pass a law. But a law can be changed in a single day. There is one guarantee that Poland will not pay for Germany's WWII crimes. That guarantee is PiS rule - stated Jarosław Kaczyński at the PiS convention in Krakow.

12:00

Kaczyński:

We have new proposals for the disabled. Another point added to our 'Five'.
- There is this difficult, tragic issue of the disabled in Poland. We have new proposals. Another point added to our 'Five'. It will be discussed - stated Jarosław Kaczyński at the PiS convention in Krakow.

12:22

PMM:

We Want to Provide a Permanent Monthly Allowance of PLN 500 to Individuals with Total Disability Certificates, Aged Over 18
After winning this case in Luxembourg, where we know that we will have it from next year, because there might still be an appeal process, but we are increasingly convinced that we will win it, and even if not, we will look for other paths, we also have, as promised a year ago, the Solidarity Fund, the first money is flowing into it, and as promised a year ago, we want to allocate funds, both from the won case regarding the retail tax and from the Solidarity Fund, to a permanent monthly allowance for all those people who have a certificate of total disability, of inability to lead any independent life, and we want to provide these people with a permanent monthly allowance within the shortest possible time, in the next few months, as part of our policy. It will most likely be, because it is being calculated, but in the order of magnitude of PLN 500 for those people over 18 years of age, because these people over 18 years of age are deprived of a number of different allowances in today's system of care for people with disabilities - stated Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki at the PiS convention in Krakow.

12:34

Szydło:

We Are Proud EU Members, and it's Time to Translate That into Votes
On May 26th, in just a week, on a beautiful day for each of us, because it is Mother's Day, one of those holidays we love and deeply respect, which is incredibly important to us in Poland. On this very day, we will make an extremely important choice. We will then be choosing the future of Europe, Poland, and our own future. We are proud that we are in the EU. We are proud that we were able to join this group of countries where opportunities were once given more readily than to us in this part of Europe, which was historically forgotten and relegated to the sidelines. But through our hard work, determination, and the will to fight for a better life, we have proven that we are capable of overcoming these difficulties. We are a member of the EU. We are proud of it. Poles express this in every poll. But now is the moment to translate this acceptance, this great support, and our pride in being in the EU into a vote. We need as many of us as possible to go to the polls on May 26th and cast our votes. Because Poland needs strong representation, a strong voice in Europe, and above all, Polish MEPs need strong support, backing flowing from our country right here. Let's show Europe that we care about it – stated Beata Szydło at the PiS convention in Krakow.

Gowin to Tusk: If Someone Commits to the Whole World to Be Impartial, and Then Leads the Opposition's March, That's Not Europe, That's Embarrassing

"We want Poland to once again become the heart of Europe. I respond to the politician who accuses us of 'alleged Europeanism' by saying that we are not ashamed that we are Poles, and that is why we are Europeans," stated Jarosław Gowin at the PiS convention in Krakow.

"I address Donald Tusk: if someone commits to the whole world to be impartial, and then leads the opposition's march, that's not Europe, that's embarrassing," he added.

"Is it really worth taking the risk of voting for those who go into elections without any program?" the Deputy Prime Minister continued.

Ziobro on Jaki: He is a man known to you, incredibly brave, consistent, and ready for gigantic work for you and for Poland
Allow me, as the leader of Solidarna Polska, to say a few words about my colleague, Minister Jaki. He is a man known to you, incredibly brave, consistent, and ready for gigantic work, work for you and for Poland. I deliberated for a long time whether to agree to his candidacy for the European Parliament, because I was aware that I would be losing an excellent collaborator, a man who is not afraid of any work, any challenge. He undertakes many matters that seem hopeless and manages to realize them against the opposition. But I decided that if I were to support such a man, such an excellent collaborator, for him to leave our team in the Ministry of Justice, then I wanted him to end up here, in the Malopolska, Krakow, and Swietokrzyskie region – stated Zbigniew Ziobro at the PiS convention in Krakow. Patryk Jaki is a man who possesses vast knowledge of the Polish justice system, and we must keep our word also in the area of judicial reform, our justice system – he added.
