The final campaign weekend before the European Parliament elections is here. Today and tomorrow, parties are organizing their last weekend conventions and voter meetings.

At noon, the "Poland in Europe" march organized by the European Coalition will set off from Warsaw's Bankowy Square. In addition to the opposition alliance's politicians, the head of the European Council, Donald Tusk, and former presidents Bronisław Komorowski and Aleksander Kwaśniewski have announced their participation in the demonstration.

The Prime Minister will visit the Silesian Voivodeship. At 11:10 AM, he will lay flowers at the Monument to Silesian Insurgents in Katowice, and at noon, he will participate in a Military Picnic as part of the centenary celebrations of the Silesian uprisings. Afterwards, Mateusz Morawiecki will board the so-called PiSbus and visit Będzin (at 1:30 PM) and Zawiercie (2:45 PM). Meanwhile, party leader Jarosław Kaczyński will attend a meeting of the President Lech Kaczyński Academic Civic Club in Krakow at 4:00 PM.

At 11:00 AM, the coalition committee The Left Together is organizing its picnic in Skaryszewski Park. At the same time, Spring will hold a convention on solving the problem of pedophilia in the Church, a secular state, and the rule of law.

President Andrzej Duda will participate in the commemorations of the 75th anniversary of the Battle of Monte Cassino. The main ceremonies, with the participation of the Italian President, are planned for around 6:15 PM. At 7:20 PM, a meeting between the Presidents of Poland and Italy will take place.

"We will hear again that PiS is bad, 'boo hoo', etc., etc. How many times can we reheat the same old, tough cutlet?" - Minister Joachim Brudziński said on RMF FM, commenting on Donald Tusk's announced speech during the European Coalition march.

"In this final stretch [of the campaign], we are among the people, just as we were in 2015, just as we were after the elections, we travelled across Poland. Our candidates, Prime Minister Morawiecki, Prime Minister Szydło, we are reaching the smallest towns" - he added.

„According to the treaties in force in the European Union, Donald Tusk should be an apolitical and non-partisan arbiter. He should be a unifier during European Council meetings, not the center of political dispute. Donald Tusk is going far beyond the powers granted to him by the treaties,” said Minister Joachim Brudziński in an interview with Krzysztof Ziemiec on RMF FM.

- Welcome to Warsaw. In a way, I've already fulfilled my task. Because I was responsible for washing the streets and ensuring the sun. Therefore, I am keeping my promises. We have sun and clean streets - stated Rafał Trzaskowski during the 'Poland in Europe' march.

- Do you remember the local elections, that incredible mobilization? Queues to cast votes. Thanks to that mobilization, we managed to win the elections. We must do exactly the same on May 26th. We need full mobilization because these elections are of incredibly significant importance - he continued.

- These are elections that will decide the future of all of us in a united Europe, which is why they are so extraordinarily important. That's why this incredible mobilization is needed, because in a sense, it will be a second referendum on our membership in the EU. And not just for those who couldn't participate in the first one because they were too young, and I am appealing to them, urging them to turn out in large numbers at the polls, but for all of us - stated the Mayor of Warsaw.

- We have always been, and continue to be, on the right side, always on the side of the Constitution and the rule of law. Always against lawlessness. We will advocate for Poland to be for everyone, not just for the party elite, as it is today. We will always be for a strong Poland in the EU, within a strong EU. This is our goal, and we will achieve it. We will always be on the side of abused children, not on the side of their abusers and the criminals who shield them. - Yesterday, the President of Law and Justice was frightening that there might be zones in Poland ruled by Sharia. Mr. President Kaczyński, it's too late. We have been living in such a religious Sharia for a long time. It's time to change this, it's time for a secular state, Mr. President - said Robert Biedroń during a convention in Warsaw.

- This is the final stretch, the final week until the elections. We must be together at the ballot boxes on May 26th. Then we will win. Together, united. A free Poland in a free and strong Europe - stated Grzegorz Schetyna during the "Poland in Europe" march.  

- This is the first round of elections. The second round will be in the autumn. We must win the European elections here now to change the government, the authorities in Poland, to restore normalcy, to win in the autumn. Because for us, it's not just one season that matters. For us, the whole year and the coming years are important - stated Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz during the "Poland in Europe" march.

- Let's bring victory to Poland and Europe on May 26th. We united the opposition, we will unite Poland and Poles. We will win - he added.

„The lesson that the Silesian insurgents left us in their testament is not just a lesson of history, a lesson about the past. It is also a lesson about the future, about the fact that Poland is a choice. It is often a difficult choice. The Silesian insurgents, in those dramatic moments of 1919, especially 1920 and 1921, had a powerful state to choose from. Germany tempted them, 'come to us,' 'Poland is a seasonal state.' At the gates of Warsaw stood a powerful Bolshevik army, and at such a moment of greatest threat, the Silesian insurgents, the inhabitants of Silesia, opted for Polishness” – said Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki in front of the Monument to the Silesian Insurgents in Katowice.

- We demand the establishment of a parliamentary committee for reparations to victims of the Catholic Church. The 'Do Not Be Afraid' foundation prepared the draft of such a committee. Wiosna will support it, Wiosna will stand on the side of the citizen's project. We do not want to outbid each other on this matter. Solidarity is needed here - said Robert Biedroń during a convention in Warsaw.

"To all those who were active before 1989, to all those who had their dignity taken away. To all those who are poorer, for whom a secular state is important, for whom social issues are important. To all those for whom the Constitution is important. For all those for whom the EU is important. For all those for whom the rights of civil society are most important. To all those who respect committees, for whom women's issues and women's rights are most important. To all those who cannot afford everything, who watch with horror what is happening in schools and hospitals. To all of them I appeal: go to the polls, we must win them. I appeal to the 1 million 200 thousand people who voted for the left, for me, for Barbara Nowacka in the last parliamentary elections. Go to the polls, I beg you, bring your friends. These are the most important elections, and then October, the second most important elections. In a week from now will be the first step. In the second, we will win, and your dreams of tolerance, freedom, of smiling, regardless of what you believe in or who you sleep with, will be important. These dreams will come true for you."

• Thirty years ago, when we regained our freedom, 20 years ago we joined NATO, 15 years ago we joined the EU, we were convinced that the future would now be exclusively rosy. However, the last four years have clearly shown us: nothing is given once and for all. Freedom, democracy, EU membership are not given forever. History has slapped us in the face many times. Everything depends on the choices we make. Therefore, a choice lies before us. A great choice. What kind of Poland do we want. Are we for the shoddy PiS state, which attacks the dignity of people, teachers, gay people, doctors, or disabled individuals? Are we for the shoddy PiS Poland, where healthcare is destroyed daily, where we are deprived of the right to independent courts, where education is distorted, entrepreneurs are attacked, or culture is censored? Do we want the shoddy PiS state, where shady deals are made, and PiS officials earn millions? Do we want the shoddy PiS state? So, the choice is ours. I would especially like to appeal to women, Polish women. 100 years ago, we were granted suffrage. It is high time we fully utilized it and went to the polls. Let's not allow someone who doesn't know family life to decide for us. An eternal bachelor who doesn't understand our needs. Let's not allow anyone to tell us 'Support and don't interfere.' We will not agree to 'mouth shut and vote,' and if we don't like it, 'get lost, old man!' - stated Katarzyna Lubnauer during the "Poland in Europe" march.
• Damn it, this is our country and we have the right to ask and demand. Therefore, we must decide. The choice is ours. If we want a Poland where our children go to a practical, modern, and friendly school, choose the European Coalition. If you want our loved ones, when they fall ill, to have the right to recover and the right to life, choose the European Coalition. If you want everyone to be equal before the law, choose the European Coalition. If you want to be proud of your choice, choose the European Coalition. On May 26th, give yourselves a Mother's Day present and choose the European Coalition - she continued.

- In the new term of the Sejm, Wiosna will submit to the Marshal's office a small package for the rule of law, which will include bills reforming the Constitutional Tribunal, the National Council of the Judiciary, and the so-called Disciplinary Chamber of the Supreme Court. These reforms will reverse the politicization to which these institutions have been subjected by Law and Justice – said Robert Biedroń during a convention in Warsaw.

"We are in a relay race for changing Poland for the better, for the sake of people who were somewhat marginalized during the transformation, meaning the changes after the fall of communism. These European Parliament elections are a very important stage on the path to reforming our state. In Brussels, very important decisions are made, very important things happen. We must choose the right representatives. We must choose them so that what is decided there serves Poland and Poles" - said Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki in Będzin.

“We cannot be lulled. Our changes, which are good for people, for Polish families, for Poles, for Polish entrepreneurs, are also somewhat lulling, because someone might think that it will always be this way. No, ladies and gentlemen. The only guarantor that these changes can be continued is the government of a good Polish steward, the Law and Justice government” – said Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki in Będzin.

- Thank you for this march. Thank you for being with us. That we are here, a week before the elections, to say: The European Coalition was formed to restore hope to all of us, Poland, and Europe. And that we will win these elections on May 26th. I want to thank everyone who came today, but I want to thank all those who managed to build the European Coalition. "I am here with you to tell all Poles how important these elections are. This is a double stake. One might say the stakes are higher than usual. This is a great choice, as you yourselves have called it during the campaign. I stand before you today with people who, when they speak of Europe, when they speak of Poland in Europe, when they say that Poles are Europeans, and Europe is also home for Poland, they don't do it to deceive anyone, to mislead for two weeks before the elections. These are people who planned this great endeavor, this historic undertaking, who spoke of Europe, but whose actions have confirmed their words. They are the ones who brought Poland into the European Union. They are the natural, authentic guarantee of our strong presence in the European Union. They do not need to be tested anymore. You can vote for them with a clear conscience" - said the President of the European Council, Donald Tusk, during a march of the European Coalition.

- When asking for your votes, I would like to state unequivocally: In the European Parliament, I would like to address matters such as drug and food safety. I will deal with European affairs, but above all, I will look after Poland's interests. As Europeans, we must feel solidarity. In the European Parliament, we must also see others. Family is most important; parents know best how to raise children. Poland and the European Union must support the family - said Konstanty Radziwiłł in a new video spot.

“If 80% of Poles want Poland to be in the European Union, then why should we, all Poles, risk voting for someone who does not guarantee this position in the European Union? It has cost too much for all of us, our parents, our grandparents. In terms of time, effort, sometimes blood and sweat, for Poland to find its place in the European Union. We cannot afford such a risk,” said the head of the European Council, Donald Tusk, during the European Coalition march.

“Is it really worth the risk to vote for those who today present themselves as Europeans with extraordinary enthusiasm, but this enthusiasm is barely two weeks old? I know very well that they will be Europeans for as long as their electoral interests dictate, and they too know what Poles want, which is why for these two weeks, with difficulty, yes with difficulty, they are somehow conjugating the word Europe, using it in every possible case” - stated the President of the European Council, Donald Tusk, during the European Coalition march.

The leader of the Together party, Adrian Zandberg, commented on Donald Tusk's participation in the election rally. He stated that Tusk's presence at such an event does not surprise him.

Zandberg also addressed TVN24, a Polish television channel, for questioning his absence from what the broadcaster described as a "non-partisan celebration of Europe." He conveyed his greetings to the journalists who posed this question.

The tweet from Adrian Zandberg's official account on Twitter (now X) read: "Tusk on the election rally? It doesn't surprise me. Greetings to @tvn24, who asked why I wouldn't be at this 'non-partisan celebration of Europe'."

This statement suggests a critical view of the event and the framing of it by some media outlets. Zandberg appears to be highlighting the perceived political nature of an event that was presented as non-partisan.

“I am addressing all Poles. Do not believe the pessimists who shake their heads and say [about the European Commission] that it’s all over the place, and it's unclear what connects them. What connects them is a higher good, because a safe Poland in a strong, united Europe is today the highest political good for Poles” - said the President of the European Council, Donald Tusk, during the European Council march.

- I often receive letters, I used to receive letters, phone calls, SMS messages from friends, people who said that this school year the end of the year falls rather unfortunately on the Friday after Corpus Christi, June 21st. And after Corpus Christi means that Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday could be free. We want to act as practically as possible, even in such matters. That is why I want to say today, here, that we will make a change in the regulation concerning the end of the school year. We will change the end of the school year from Friday to Wednesday. Holidays will begin on Wednesday - stated Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki in Zawiercie.

“The European Parliament elections are not just about whether this or that candidate, hopefully from PiS, will make it to the European Parliament. These elections are very important for all of Poland. This is, one could say, the first round of elections. The second will be in autumn. And it depends on this whether we will be able to continue our social and economic policy, as close to the people as possible. This is our basic slogan – to be as close to the people as possible,” Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki said in Zawiercie. 

„Just as we did not give up on taxing shopping malls and large stores, so now, three days ago, our persistence won before the Court of Justice. Because PiS does not give up, we are consistent, and in accordance with European law, we fought for our interests in such a way that we were proven right. We were right about taxing large retail spaces. Polish trade, small businesses, family shops, small stores – all of this is important to us. And just as this example shows how effectively we fought for our interests, so will we fight, our candidates for the European Parliament will fight for our interests, for Poland in Europe, because Poland is the heart of Europe” – Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki said in Zawiercie.

- In politics, there is a certain value that must be highly cherished and which is, one might say, the foundation of democracy. That value is credibility. If someone proclaims one thing and does another, then the entire democratic mechanism based on choice is essentially an act of manipulation, not an act that is meant to express the will of society or a part of society - said Jarosław Kaczyński in Kraków.

- Please pay attention to the conclusion of this declaration. It speaks of an oath, which means we are dealing with perjury here. Obvious perjury. Because even without delving into each of these points, we know that the Civic Platform has veered to the left in its activities. And increasingly radically to the left, and has begun to pursue a policy whose aim is, as it is said today, the implementation in Poland of everything that constitutes this powerful, anti-Christian current in Western Europe. And we are dealing with this today as well. If we look at this coalition, it's really hard to find better proof - added the PiS leader.

- We have proof, and very strong proof at that, that the entire policy of Civic Platform was one big manipulation. One big deception of society. And it was simultaneously a policy not pursued in Poland's interest - said Jarosław Kaczyński in Krakow.
