The Sejm's session, scheduled for three days, will commence at 10:00. During this session, MPs will address the government's so-called 'Pekaes' bill (at the beginning of the session), the Kukiz'15 bill on protecting the property of the Republic of Poland against claims concerning escheated property (at 16:30), and most likely, amendments to the Criminal Code related to the prosecution of pedophilia (the time for consideration is not yet known; the bill has been sent for its first reading).

At 9:00, in front of the Sejm, there will be a "ceremonial launch of the first bus from the program announced as part of 'Kaczyński's Fifth'," led by Adrian Zandberg. After the bus departs, a commentary on the assumptions of "lex PKS" and a presentation of Lewica Razem's transport program proposals are planned.

At 10:15, the Sejm's investigative commission on Amber Gold will hold a meeting, where its chair, Małgorzata Wassermann, is expected to present her version of the team's final report. At 14:00, the investigative commission on VAT will interrogate Karol Jęny, a former permanent advisor to the "Friendly State" extraordinary commission on matters related to bureaucracy reduction.

The President of the Czech Senate will be visiting Poland. At 9:00, he will meet with Marshal Stanisław Karczewski (briefing at 9:40), at noon with Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki, and at 15:00 with Marshal Marek Kuchciński.

President Andrzej Duda will visit Myślenice in the Lesser Poland Voivodeship, where at 17:00 he will meet with residents of the Myślenice poviat.

- First and foremost, we should stop covering up and relativizing this phenomenon [of pedophilia]. It is, after all, the biggest problem. It's not about whether penalties are lighter or heavier, or harsher or less harsh, but simply that perpetrators of these acts have typically avoided criminal accountability – stated Marek Belka in an interview with Piotr Witwicki on Polsat News's "Graffiti" program.

“We Catholics should be grateful to the Sekielski brothers for this film. It is an opportunity for self-purification for the community that is the Church, and for the Church institution. I believe that conclusions will be drawn. Not only the perpetrators, but also those who covered up such crimes, will face ecclesiastical consequences. Regardless, the law must act. This law is unambiguous” - said Deputy Prime Minister Jarosław Gowin on “Sygnały dnia” on Jedynka radio.

- I believe that combating communication exclusion is perhaps the most interesting element of this 'five' [Kaczyński's]. However, this issue is not just about legislation or finding several hundred million zlotys, but above all, it's a very serious organizational and logistical operation that requires cooperation with local governments, because the situation is slightly different in every municipality and every district. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for the implementation of this program - stated Marek Belka in an interview with Piotr Witwicki on Polsat News' "Graffiti".

“For now, I am skeptical of the idea for teachers to gain the status of state civil servants. I believe it is still too early at this stage to make any definitive decisions. deliberations of the educational roundtable have begun. We are all aware that Polish education should undergo a systemic change just like the one that began at Polish universities last year. Let us allow teachers themselves and experts to voice their opinions on the direction these changes should take” - said Deputy Prime Minister Jarosław Gowin on “Signals of the Day” on Radio Jedynka.

- It's difficult to be against this [PiS's ideas to toughen penalties for pedophilia], but I think it's simply also an attempt to cover up their own kind of, I would say, complicity in this procedure. This is because the very unfortunate alignment with the most conservative part of the Polish Catholic Church hierarchy is very awkward for PiS in the context of this film. If someone says: a hand raised against the Church is a hand raised against Poland, then in the context of the Sekielski brothers' film, it looks disgusting – stated Marek Belka in an interview with Piotr Witwicki on Polsat News's "Graffiti".

„If the European Coalition loses the election, I expect Donald Tusk will, on [June 4th], raise the banner and give a clear signal for the opposition to group and gather around him. I think he will directly come forward with an initiative for a joint opposition Senate list, involving pro-Platform [Civic Platform] or anti-government mayors of large cities. One of the specific challenges will be that in the immediate future, on May 22nd, there will also be a Permanent Synod, meaning Archbishop Gądecki, after consulting with the bishops, is convening the Permanent Synod immediately. First and foremost, we must once again analyze everything you are talking about, the current situation, and show what steps we will be taking - stated Archbishop Wojciech Polak in an interview with Beata Lubecka on Radio Zet. He admitted that the situation in the Polish Church is serious, fires need to be put out, and that is why he canceled his trip to South Korea.

- The moment of confrontation between those who were harmed and those who harmed them, something I had never experienced before, most moved and pained me. That is, the sheer drama of these individuals who had to return in this way to the traumatic experiences of their childhood – stated Archbishop Wojciech Polak in an interview with Beata Lubecka on Radio Zet. He added that today, perhaps no one will deny that such crimes do occur in the Church.

- No, absolutely not [the Sekielski film is not an attack on the Church]. I don't see any attack on the Church in this film. Quite the opposite. Even when you listen to Mr. Sekielski talk about this film, it seems to me, and it's not just my feeling, that Archbishop Gądecki's first action after watching the film was to thank Mr. Sekielski, because it is another element in our fight, our struggle against pedophilia - stated Archbishop Wojciech Polak in an interview with Beata Lubecka on Radio Zet.

- You can't speak like that when you haven't seen something. You can say that there are some voices and films, etc., but only after you've watched them, seen them, can you then assess them. I wouldn't make such judgments off the cuff - stated Archbishop Wojciech Polak in an interview with Beata Lubecka on Radio Zet.

"The creation of this public register harmed the victims. We spoke about this during the commission meeting and at the plenary session, after consulting with the Ombudsman. If such a tragic situation arises where a father rapes his child and their case enters the public register of pedophilic offenses, that story is also described, and his child is involved. The revealed story leads to total trauma" - said the Civic Platform (PO) leader Grzegorz Schetyna in an interview with Piotr Kraśko on Radio TOK FM's Poranek.

„A commission must be established by parliament, composed of authorities. I believe this will be a big question for the Church. Will the Church be able and ready to cooperate on this matter? Will it engage in this commission and will it want to clarify this issue, to close this tragic chapter?” - stated PO leader Grzegorz Schetyna in an interview with Piotr Kraśko on Radio TOK FM's Poranek.

„There is no way out if the Church is unwilling to cooperate. This is the question for the Church: is it able to cooperate with state bodies, or not. If not, I am filled with the worst forebodings about the future. We will not let this go” - he added.

“Due to the Marshal not receiving sufficient documents and opinions on Kukiz's bill concerning claims, that is, the infamous issue related to Act 447, this project has been removed from the current Sejm proceedings. The Sejm session has been shortened. It will last two days” - said Deputy Marshal Beata Mazurek at a press conference in the Sejm.

“It is difficult to resist the impression that a dirty game has been played around this issue in recent days. The change in the composition of the Israeli government delegation, which was recalled by the PiS government's decision, fits into this game. Similarly, various groups are trying to cynically exploit this matter in the final, very heated phase of the political campaign, both here in our country and on the international stage. The Polish ambassador in Tel Aviv was attacked yesterday. The Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs demanded an explanation. The Polish government expects the perpetrator of this attack to be punished, and Ambassador Azari was summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs today” - said Minister Michał Dworczyk.

“As stated by Chairman Jarosław Kaczyński and Prime Minister Morawiecki, the Polish government will not pay any compensation to anyone. The only claims, the only compensation that Poland can have is as a victim of World War II. It was the Polish nation, it was Poland, that suffered gigantic losses during this conflict. At most, we can have legitimate expectations for reparations” - he added.

‘The government bill concerning the tightening of the Penal Code in the context of pedophilia was proposed by the Marshal of the Sejm. PO and Nowoczesna have raised objections to this bill. These objections will be voted on in the block of votes at 11:30 AM. If they are rejected, the government project will be processed at 3:30 PM’ – Deputy Marshal Beata Mazurek stated at a press conference in the Sejm.

‘The issue is naturally linked to what is causing public outrage, hence the swift processing. The project will be sent to the legislative committee. The aim is to be able to react as quickly as possible, so that victims of these heinous acts can be protected’ – she added. 

“I am asking for a recess and clarification as to why the item concerning the bill on ownerless property has been removed from the agenda. This is evidence that PiS intends to pay Jews huge property claims that are being articulated today in the USA and Israel,” stated Robert Winnicki in the Sejm.

A week has passed since the media revealed information allegedly linking Prime Minister Morawiecki to an agreement with his former employer, Bank Zachodni, under which he would receive financial benefits and the bank would have certain obligations. A week has passed. In this time, the Prime Minister has managed to announce the adoption of his own children – some claim this was done to hide this matter – but has not addressed it. Today, from the parliamentary podium, during this session, a statement should be made: whether Prime Minister Morawiecki is linked by any agreement or not, because today the question is: who is paying Prime Minister Morawiecki, who is paying him? You won't escape this question, nor will Prime Minister Morawiecki – stated Sławomir Nitras in the Sejm.

"There is someone in your ranks who justified the Tylawa pedophile. There is someone in your ranks who defended such behavior. It doesn't matter to us whether it's your MP or a former mayor of Słupsk. We say clearly: zero tolerance for such behavior" - said Borys Budka from Civic Platform (PO) from the parliamentary rostrum.

"I understand that some politicians are not interested in facts, especially those that do not align with the theses they have predetermined. In this case [from Tylawa], the facts are that I did not conduct the investigation in this matter. I have repeatedly informed the media about this. I did not undertake any procedural actions in this matter and did not make substantive decisions" – said Stanisław Piotrowicz from PiS from the parliamentary rostrum. "I acted as a press spokesperson, as that was my duty. District prosecutor's offices do not have a press spokesperson institution, and according to the regulations for the operation of general organizational units of the prosecutor's office, only the head of the prosecutor's office is authorized to contact the media. I only informed about the findings of the investigation. It is an abuse to attribute to me statements that are not of my authorship. This is a faithful quoting of witness testimonies" – he added.

A bill increasing the penalty for child sexual abuse has been submitted to the Polish Sejm. And this bill is to be handled by a commission headed by a man who, as he himself admitted at a press conference, as a spokesperson, downplayed and blurred the guilt of a priest from Tylawa, who was convicted of child sexual abuse. He said that touching the intimate parts of several-year-old girls would be linked to the priest's bioenergetic abilities. He spoke at that press conference about how sleeping at the rectory of the priest from Tylawa was an attraction for the girls. I have a question: would you allow girls from your family to sit on the lap of the priest from Tylawa? This man is incapable of leading a commission tasked with addressing child sexual abuse – stated Kamila Gasiuk-Pihowicz in the Sejm.

- When it comes to explaining himself, I think Mr. Budka should explain himself because when he was a minister, he released a pedophile who attacked a child, raped her, and there was no supervision. He should apologize for that, because you defended pedophiles - stated Marek Suski in the Sejm.

- The solutions we propose, in our opinion, offer a real chance to combat pedophilia. They are not just a simple increase in punishment, but also provide tools to prosecute this pedophilia. Today, there must be an independent group of prosecutors who operate and who are able to investigate, clarify, and if confirmed, file indictments in all these cases of pedophilia. The state has not succeeded, we see that. The Church has not succeeded, we see that, so a new solution must be found that will give a chance to resolve this problem, which, I have the impression, is only just beginning to surface. If someone thinks that this film will be the end of it and we will only discuss this film, then I believe that today many more victims will have the courage to come forward and seek justice, so the state must be prepared for this, it must have tools. Such a tool is a dedicated group of prosecutors who could immediately investigate such cases - stated Sławomir Neumann in an interview with Jacek Prusinowski on Radio Plus.

- We wanted to inform you that the Anti-447 bill, authored by Kukiz'15, the first reading of which was scheduled for today in the Sejm, has unfortunately been removed from the agenda today - stated Paweł Kukiz at a briefing in the Sejm. - I do wonder if the Law and Justice party made this decision after the attack on Ambassador Magierowski, and if they will continue to act from a position of subservience, in a way that shows Poland's immense weakness towards some external pressure - he added.

- The Sejm Presidium and Convention just held a meeting. Yesterday, the ANTI-447 Act was still on the agenda for this Sejm session. The first reading was supposed to take place at 4:30 PM. Meanwhile, in the morning, we learned from Marshal Kuchciński that the act would not be presented. When I inquired about the reasons, I received no answer. What happened overnight? Was there pressure from Israel and the USA regarding this matter? And the most important question, do we have a government on call right now? Is this a Polish government standing on the grounds of Polish national interest? - Stanisław Tyszka said at a briefing in the Sejm. - For months, we have been attacked in a disgusting, racist manner by politicians from Israel. “We saw, right at the beginning of the Sejm session, our intention to remove Mr. Piotrowicz from the head of the committee that will deal with this matter. Today, all political forces, all decent, respectable people should ensure that the crime of pedophilia in the Church and other places is investigated to the very bottom, giving a chance to the victims and prosecuting the perpetrators,” said PO-KO leader Sławomir Neumann at a press conference in the Sejm. “Hiding pedophiles or covering up these matters is as much a crime as pedophilia itself. - Today we face a very important decision, a decision about changes to the Penal Code, and the Penal Code and criminal law are among the main elements, pillars, that define the order of values in every state. Today we must answer the fundamental question: what kind of Poland do we want? A Poland that is just for everyone, or one that is lenient, tolerant of the wicked, bandits, bad people? Do we want a Poland that is decisive, acts decisively against people who have undoubtedly erred and done so cruelly, or a Poland that is lenient, one that permits extremely pathological behaviors? I wanted to address Mr. Neumann's statements. I am filing an election law demand for correction, an election law lawsuit, regarding his remarks concerning Słupsk and pedophiles in Słupsk. This is a lie, untrue. I have the impression that Civic Platform is trying to divert attention from the issue of priest-pedophiles in the Catholic Church, trying to distract from their many years of inaction on this matter. We, as Spring, and I particularly, with my authority and actions, are an example of how to solve these problems. Therefore, we will decisively defend our name. This is a lie and manipulation by Civic Platform, which has remained silent on this issue for years and is now trying, I hope not in cooperation with the Catholic Church, to divert attention from the problem of priest-pedophiles. We expect a verdict within 48 hours, so that no Neumann or anyone else lies again” - said the leader of Spring, Robert Biedroń, at a press conference in Wrocław.

- Only the toughening of penalties, the adequacy of these penalties, the inevitability of penalties can lead to a real reduction in these extreme pathologies, which so terribly and justifiably outrage us all after the film shown by Messrs. "The Republic is first and foremost its people, who have their needs, their pride, and their dignity. No one will insult or humiliate us. We will not allow it. Today, the Polish ambassador, Mr. Marek Magierowski, whom I personally sent to Israel to represent us there, was attacked and humiliated. The Israeli authorities must clarify this matter. The relevant security services in that country must clarify it. Unfortunately, everything points to it being simply an anti-Polish act, an act of hatred against us, absolutely unjustified hatred. „Just as I combat all manifestations of antisemitism, considering them something vile and unworthy, so too will I absolutely not agree to any anti-Polish act. Poles, who never allied themselves with Germany during World War II, who were the first to be attacked by Nazi Germany and by the Soviets, who bled throughout the entire World War II until the very end, and were later abandoned by their allies, Poles, who never participated in the Holocaust in any institutionalized way, and who are the most numerous today among the Righteous Among the Nations, absolutely do not deserve such treatment.
