Friday marks the second day of the EU summit in Brussels. At 9:00, Prime Minister Morawiecki will meet with the Prime Minister of Latvia, Arturs Krišjānis Kariņš. At 9:30, a meeting of the heads of government and states of the European Union with the prime ministers of Iceland, Liechtenstein, and Norway will commence, marking the 25th anniversary of the EEA. A family photo is scheduled for 10:15, and at 10:45, Mateusz Morawiecki will participate in a working session of the European Council.

The President of Hungary, accompanied by his wife, will be visiting Poland. At 14:20, János Áder will meet with President Andrzej Duda in Kielce. A press statement is planned for 15:15, and at 17:00, both Presidential Couples will attend the Polish-Hungarian Friendship Gala.

Meanwhile, in Warsaw, Minister Jacek Czaputowicz will meet with the Secretary General of the Council of Europe, Thorbjørn Jagland. The discussions will begin at 9:00 in the Kazimierzowski Palace, with a press conference at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs scheduled for 13:30. Secretary Jagland will also meet with Deputy Prime Minister Jarosław Gowin at 14:20.

The Law and Justice party (PiS) will be presenting its candidates for the European Parliament elections. A conference is scheduled for 14:00 at the District Board Office of PiS in Warsaw (presenting candidates from the Warsaw district) and in Radom (candidates for Mazovia).

At 9:00, the leader of the Polish People's Party (PSL), Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, the Marshal of Mazovia, Adam Struzik, and the PSL's candidate for the European Parliament, Władysław Teofil Bartoszewski, will hold their press conference at the Warsaw Public Library.

At 10:30 in the Sejm, a press conference will be held by the leaders of the Confederation party: Jacek Wilk, Jakub Kulesza, Robert Winnicki, Piotr Liroj-Mar, and Marek Jakubiak, where they are expected to present "new MPs, a new name, and a new leader of the parliamentary group."

At 14:30 in Poznań, Ryszard Petru will hold a press conference regarding the collection of signatures for a citizens' bill to repeal the Sunday trading ban.

- An absolutely missed shot. I would really like it, if PiS raises teacher salaries by 50%, then we can talk as equals - said Joanna Kluzik-Rostkowska in an interview with Wojciech Dąbrowski on Polsat News' "Graffiti".

- I was a member of the Civic Platform government, and this government, between 2008 and 2012, raised teacher salaries by an average of 50%. If PiS does exactly the same, spends tens of billions of zlotys on these increases, and three years later says, 'okay, there will be no further increases,' then we can talk as equals - added the former Minister of Education.

- I don't know if the President is on a 1000-calorie diet. I haven't asked the President about it, but I do see that the President is in excellent physical condition. I see that he is very fit, active, and that he has an appropriate weight. I say this with complete sincerity, I envy the President's physical fitness, because I was never as athletic as the President is. He is a very fit man, and to be completely honest, it's like they say, a healthy body, a healthy spirit. That's a good principle - stated Paweł Mucha in an interview with Beata Lubecka on Radio Zet.

- This is still the time, I would say, for that. Because the President said that at the right time, if he makes such a decision, he will inform the public - stated Paweł Mucha in an interview with Beata Lubecka on Radio Zet.

- Regarding the decisions about re-election, the right moment will come for the President to define himself in this regard. Although I will say this: he is a great president who fulfills his duties - emphasized the presidential minister.

- The President is a person who maintains direct contact all the time. This is how we are continuing our tour of Poland. The President will visit every Polish county. This also shows that the president is always among Poles, advocates for Poles' affairs, and has direct contact with them - stated Paweł Mucha in an interview with Beata Lubecka on Radio Zet.

- Senate lists will be further strengthened, so we truly feel strong. We will be looking for really strong names in those constituencies where we haven't managed to win a mandate so far - said Adam Bielan in an interview with Marcin Fijołek on Siódma9's "Morning Program".

- A broader [president-prime minister meeting]. It was a rather long conversation regarding current matters. It is natural that the president and prime minister meet and discuss important issues. There is no doubt that the matter of teachers was discussed by the gentlemen. The president has also spoken publicly in this regard. He said he is in favour of teachers' salaries increasing. However, we know that today this is not only a matter for the government, but also for the stance of the ZNP (Polish Teachers' Union). Because to achieve some solution, to work out some compromise, one needs to talk, conduct this dialogue, and here the question arises whether setting some prohibitive demands or a lack of conversation from the ZNP can lead to solving the problem. Similarly, a question arises about the context of the election campaign for the European Parliament - stated Paweł Mucha in an interview with Beata Lubecka on Radio Zet.

- The president appealed for an agreement. The prime minister assured that the government is working on an agreement. However, he spoke very clearly that appropriate activity from the union is, of course, needed here. I did not directly participate in this meeting, so I cannot report it word for word, but I know from the president that he attaches great importance to this matter being resolved, and it is common knowledge that some of the demands or forms of protest currently proposed by chairman Broniarz are unacceptable to the teaching community - he continued.

- I am convinced that we will win the European elections. Let us also remember that the parties forming the European Coalition won nearly 50% in the last European elections, while we won less than 39%, so the fact that we will win these elections will be a great achievement - said Adam Bielan in an interview with Marcin Fijołek on "Poranek" on Siódma9.

- This discussion is ongoing. Meetings are happening all the time. We know that on Monday, the Social Dialogue Council will also debate this matter. The President is doing what falls within his competences. We know that the Prime Minister, the Minister of Finance, and the Council of Ministers as a whole are responsible for the state budget sphere. We know that the President does not directly have tools that would allow him to shape teachers' salaries. I would absolutely not formulate such a far-reaching thesis [that the President achieved nothing during talks with the Prime Minister] - stated Paweł Mucha in an interview with Beata Lubecka on Radio Zet.

- I am also speaking with some irritation about opposition politicians. Just this morning I was listening to one of the former ministers, who during the time she was the Minister of National Education, said that no raises would change anything and that 10% was a complete waste of time, and just now she is saying in the media that she believes this money should be found immediately. Let's state: teachers' salaries have been increasing under the PiS government - added the presidential minister.

"Danuta Hübner is not [on our list]. These were probably more media announcements. As far as I know, the Commissioner probably will not be continuing her political career, at least in the European Parliament. It's a shame, Commissioner. As far as I know, she has made the decision that she no longer wants to continue, she doesn't want to be a Member of the European Parliament" - said the leader of Wiosna, Robert Biedroń, in an interview with Jacek Żakowski on Poranek Radia TOK FM.

„We have unleashed immense human energy. Polls might not fully capture it yet, but the desire for the regeneration of Polish politics, for change, is huge. I believe that everyone on the pro-democracy side should cheer us on. We can walk alongside each other without hindering each other. Wiosna might be a younger entity, but it is bolder, pro-European, one that states things clearly and tries to solve them, while traditional parties can remain together and do what they have been doing so far” - said Wiosna leader, Robert Biedroń, in a conversation with Jacek Żakowski on Radio TOK FM's Poranek.

- We are currently in a faction that I had the honor to co-create, the European Conservatives and Reformists faction. This is the third largest faction in the European Parliament at the moment. According to most analyses published by the European Parliament itself, we will be the third largest party delegation after the Italian League and German Christian Democrats. We are a very attractive partner for many political forces, and indeed, one could say that there are currently pilgrimages of various European leaders to Nowogrodzka Street to meet with Jarosław Kaczyński - said Adam Bielan in an interview with Marcin Fijołek on Siódma9's "Morning" program.

„Of course, I will take on [the MEP mandate] and I will hold this mandate until the moment we run for the Polish Parliament, because I am the list leader. I am responsible for this team. I have to be sure that this team gets into the EP and that these will be people representing values. If I didn't run, I would weaken the team, I simply wouldn't get these people in. I am saying this honestly. I am not like other politicians who deceive, who tell people they will be there and then resign” - said the leader of Wiosna, Robert Biedroń, in an interview with Jacek Żakowski on TOK FM's Morning Program.

“I deeply regret that a place wasn't found for her [Joanna Scheuring-Wielgus] on the European Coalition lists. I can only say that talks were underway, she was persuaded, but then it suddenly turned out that she was too liberal, that she didn't fit the conservative-populist formula within the European Coalition” – said Ryszard Petru in an interview with Robert Mazurek on RMF FM.​

- A government delegation, representatives of the ministries, will be present [at Monday's meeting of the Social Dialogue Council]. We are pleased that this meeting has been scheduled. We hope teachers will engage in talks, because I will likely repeat myself, but we don't need to be convinced that teachers earned too little. We don't need to be convinced that salaries should increase, and this indeed started to happen under the PiS government. If Mr. Broniarz had been effective in 2013, 2014, and 2015, we would be in a different situation today and would have started salary increase talks from a different starting point. Unfortunately, that did not happen - stated Joanna Kopcińska in an interview with Marek Pyza on TVP1's "Kwadrans polityczny" (Political Quarter Hour).

„There was no possibility at all for Joanna Scheuring-Wielgus, or for other candidates. Mr. Editor, it's difficult to run from a coalition that doesn't want Joanna Scheuring-Wielgus, and now: I believe the concept of the European Coalition is good. I said I would support Joanna Scheuring-Wielgus, if she were running in Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship, I wouldn't vote for her there, but it turned out in the end that she is running in Warsaw, and in accordance with my earlier declaration, because the type of views she represents should be represented in the European Parliament, and secondly, I wouldn't want the sole face of Poland in the European Parliament to be that of a PSL member. It's not something we'd be proud of” – said Ryszard Petru in an interview with Robert Mazurek on RMF FM. 

- You rightly noted that not only the political world is working in election mode, but also Mr. Broniarz. He has his own elections, his term as president of the [ZNP] is ending, a position he has held since 1998, and hence perhaps his activity. I think it would be better for everyone if Mr. Broniarz were more often at the table where concrete matters can be discussed and efforts made to find a middle ground, to meet halfway, rather than in front of the cameras - stated Joanna Kopcińska in an interview with Marek Pyza on TVP1's "Political Quarter Hour".

Today, the topics are slightly different. Today, we have matters related to free trade between the EU and China. Here, of course, we will discuss mutual relations, but I want to emphasize that with the United Kingdom's exit from the EU, we have a somewhat new situation concerning the single market, and here, we have signed a letter along with 17 other EU countries that very strongly emphasizes the necessity of maintaining the principles of the single market. For example, we strongly highlight the issue of the freedom to provide services, because if we look at the famous four freedoms, or four and a half, namely the free movement of goods, people, capital, services, and the freedom of establishment, then this freedom to provide services, such as in construction, transport, logistics, IT, and all others, is the most disrupted, the least developed in the entire EU, and it is very important to us. So, this is a direction I always emphasize, and at the same time, it leads to increased competitiveness of the entire single market, the entire EU, and protectionism, trade relations with China and the USA are also closely linked to this. Thus, from the perspective of Poland, the Polish economy, and good, rapid development, today's topics are also very important – stated Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki in Brussels during the second day of the European Council meeting.

- Dear colleagues. A special time is approaching for a million students. These are their most important exams. The Central Examination Commission is prepared to conduct the exams. Supervisory teams have already been appointed in schools. I appeal to all teachers to be present for their students, their children. To share their excitement solely and exclusively with the fact that the exam must be written as well as possible - said Anna Zalewska during a press conference.

- We want to talk about the future of salaries. We want to talk about how salaries and their structure should be shaped. We are in constant dialogue. But we ask teachers to discuss these matters calmly in designated forums, such as the dialogue council. So that we are together, above all, with the students. We are with the teachers, but primarily, we are with the students. Hundreds of emails to the ministry, to all educational superintendents. Parents and students whose emotions are heard in the media, as well as those in school corridors, hinder calm reflection on the exams. I appeal once again to teachers. Let's be with our children. Let's be with them during the exams. Let's talk. Let's try to ensure our conversations do not involve the children. Children should study calmly, implement the core curriculum, and take their exams peacefully. We all care about their future - added the Minister of Education.

- Professor Czerwińska is currently working on another project from the new five, which concerns changes to labor taxation, and previously she participated at every stage of the PiS program's implementation, the creation of the new five. Since she became Minister of Finance, Professor Czerwińska has been the person who controls, who is the guardian of our budget – stated Joanna Kopcińska in an interview with Marek Pyza on TVP1's "Political Quarter of an Hour". As she emphasized, Minister Czerwińska – in contrast to, for example, Chairman Broniarz – works in the privacy of her office.

„The absence of Ms. Czerwińska looks like some kind of political sickness. Her nerves have clearly given way when it comes to PiS's electoral promises regarding Kaczyński's 'Five'. We don't hear her statements, we don't hear how the Ministry of Finance intends to cover these obligations, especially in future years. We have a situation where most European countries have a budget surplus. In 2017, it was 13 countries. Poland was eighth from the bottom” - said the leader of Nowoczesna, Katarzyna Lubnauer, in a conversation with Jacek Prusinowski on Radio Plus's "Sedno Sprawy" (The Heart of the Matter).

Today, with great pride, we move forward towards the European elections. A few months ago, we began discussions with Władysław Teofil Bartoszewski. First, he spoke at our local government convention, then we talked in Lublin, in Warsaw, in various places, about the future of Poland, Europe, about what is needed in Europe today, namely experience, but also a great energy, skills in various fields, for example, in energy security, international policy, international relations, and people are needed who can implement such a program for Europe, Poland, for all of us, who have a high standing, and on the other hand, have great openness to their fellow human beings, to various kinds of problems. Władysław Teofil Bartoszewski is such a person. We are very proud that he accepted our invitation to run for the European Parliament as part of the European Coalition. We are very happy about this. He will be our candidate in Warsaw, a joint candidate in the European Coalition, but with the recommendation of PSL. This is a guarantee of quality in the EU, substance, efficiency, high personal standing, but also immense professional, social, and cultural experience – stated Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz at the briefing.

- I want to inform you that on March 30th, we will have our electoral convention, and it will definitively confirm our candidates. From Mazovia, in district number 4, it will be Władysław T. Bartoszewski, and from district 5 – meaning outside the metropolis – it will be Jarosław Kalinowski – stated Adam Struzik at a briefing.

- Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki should immediately dismiss Minister Zalewska and sit down for talks with teachers. Offering teachers a zero PIT for those under 26 is a mockery of teachers, another devaluation of the teaching profession. The Minister at today's press conference offered no new solutions, repeating the same arguments like a broken record. She does not answer journalists' questions, she evades journalists. She lacks the courage to confront the reality currently present in Polish schools. Her behavior is causing teachers to become increasingly determined for this strike to take place. Minister Zalewska herself caused chaos in Polish schools, she herself harmed students in Polish schools, and now she wants to shift the blame for the chaos in education onto the teachers. This is not how conflicts are resolved, this is how an educational catastrophe is brought about - said Krystyna Szumilas during a press conference in the Sejm.

- I would like to clearly emphasize that I am not competing with Beata Szydło. It is obvious to me that the Prime Minister will achieve the best, record-breaking result. This is honest towards the voters. These are nationwide constituencies. A Civic Platform councillor [Aleksandra Gajewska] made fun of my name [#JakiWstyd], this is rock bottom. Congratulations to the councillors and the people you vote for. The most important thing is what I want to do in the European Parliament. It's the fight against organized crime and corruption. In the EP, there are many legal acts that are implemented in Poland. There are indeed many issues that can be fought for in Brussels - stated Patryk Jaki in an interview with Michał Wróblewski on the WP program "Tłit".

- Of course, I am polishing my English. I'm attending English lessons. I took my high school final exams in English, I've been studying for many years. Although for the last few years, day and night, I have been dealing with reprivatization. In the EP, discussions are held in one's native language. If there is a need, I am ready for some debate module in English - added the Deputy Minister of Justice.

- I have a person whom I could recommend as my successor. But the decision rests with Minister Ziobro himself. As for Sebastian Kaleta, he will be running for the European Parliament from Warsaw. And he is someone I recommend to everyone – the most talented politician of the younger generation in Poland – stated Patryk Jaki in an interview with Michał Wróblewski on the WP program "Tłit".

„When we established the parliamentary club a few months ago with MP Jacek Wilk and Piotr Liroy-Marzec, we announced that this was just the beginning of the consolidation of all patriotic, independence-minded, national, and freedom-oriented environments. Today, we are presenting what we have managed to achieve – the expansion of our group” – said Jakub Kulesza at the press conference.

„Konfederacja is growing stronger. Our family is getting bigger. Marek Jakubiak and Robert Winnicki have joined us. There is also a name change from 'Wolność i Skuteczni' to 'Konfederacja'. We have an open formula, so we invite all centrist, center-right environments that have not yet decided to talk with us. There will be a place for everyone” – added Piotr Liroy-Marzec.

Jacek Wilk has become the new chairman of the parliamentary club. Liroy-Marzec announced that this function will be rotational.

- At the start of the campaign, falling into self-admiration or complacency can bode very poorly for the outcome, so thank you very much for these kind and warm words, however, I would like to begin this meeting primarily with thanks - stated Joachim Brudziński at the presentation of candidates for the European Parliament in the West Pomeranian-Lubusz region. He added:

"I can say this: as the leader of such a list, I have set the bar very high, because each of the candidates is a person who provides a full guarantee that if they were to assume the mandate of a Member of the European Parliament, just as in the case of MEP Hoc, who holds this mandate, they provide a full guarantee of full professional and responsible work for Poland and our small homelands in Brussels. This bar was first set high by Minister Gróbarczyk, and then when Czesław Hoc took over this mandate."

Subsequently, the Minister of the Interior and Administration emphasized:

"Today, I would like to declare that we are approaching these elections with humility, as our leader often repeats. Because there is never enough humility. We are aware that as PiS, we have managed to resolve many things well in recent years, to handle many things well for Poland, including in Brussels, thanks to the very responsible and hard work of our MEPs, but also the diplomacy of individual ministers or our prime ministers – first Prime Minister Szydło, today Prime Minister Morawiecki. And this humility will accompany us in these coming weeks of the campaign. We will humbly seek, and ask for the votes of residents of non-metropolitan Poland, this Poland often ridiculed, treated so disdainfully by some so-called elites. I mean here the representatives of this so-called post-state farm Poland. We will humbly ask for the votes of the residents of the districts of the West Pomeranian and Lubusz voivodeships and seek them. We will humbly ask for the votes of the residents of our cities, such as Szczecin, Koszalin, Gorzów, Zielona Góra, Świnoujście, Stargard, Świebodzin, Świdnik, Szczecinek, Kołobrzeg."

- The level of negative emotions accompanying Polish politics today, one would want to say, should be set aside for a moment when the fate of our national representation, regardless of party banners, will be decided, to go to Brussels to advocate for Polish interests. At the start of this campaign, I want to declare respect for my main competitor, if I may say so, Prof. Liberadzki, who, as we hear, is to lead the European Coalition list. I declare such respect for all competitors and ask for substantive and responsible competition. May this campaign give voters, the residents, the best picture of whom it is worth relying on, voting for – stated Joachim Brudziński at the presentation of candidates for the European Parliament in the West Pomeranian-Lubusz constituency.

- Today, the interests of the Republic of Poland, and consequently, also of our beloved homelands, will largely be decided, decisions will be made in Brussels. It is so important that the candidates who go there have a clearly defined goal. We want to be in the EU. The EU is, and has been, a value for our political camp. But we have always put and continue to put Poland's interests first. We want to be in the EU, we want to co-create this wonderful project, but always through the prism of equal and dignified respect and approach to all member states creating this EU - stated Joachim Brudziński during the presentation of candidates for the European Parliament in the West Pomeranian-Lublin constituency.

- Jarosław Kaczyński at our convention in Rzeszów said very clearly: what is permissible for France, for Germany, must also be permissible for Poles, for Poland, for the Czechs, for Lithuania, and for other smaller or weaker countries. This is precisely what this wonderful project, the EU, is all about - emphasized the Minister of the Interior and Administration.

„The political camp from which I come, the United Right camp, has always looked with great approval on the policy implemented by the current Hungarian authorities for years, a policy that strongly supports family issues and, in this regard, social development as an extremely important element for the country's economic development” - said President Andrzej Duda in Kielce, after meeting with the President of Hungary. “This has been a very important model for us, and we have incorporated this element of returning to tradition, to important identity elements on which statehood is based, meaning Judeo-Christian roots, on which the great value of European tradition is based”.

„I hope there won't be changes in Polish politics that would lead to abandoning the 500+ program” - he added.

We tried, I proposed such a formula whereby Great Britain is not put in a corner, they are not put in a corner, but rather we have until April 12th for the British Parliament to develop a positive approach to the United Kingdom's withdrawal agreement. Why April 12th? This is because, around April 11th, as Prime Minister May stated, these are the last days when the British Parliament can make decisions concerning British participation in the European Parliament elections. So, in order not to create unnecessary confusion here, such a date was adopted - said Mateusz Morawiecki after the EU summit.

'If we reach every municipality with what we have done over these past 3+ years and present our program, we are convinced that voters will vote for PiS' – a politician from the PiS headquarters tells us. And this statement captures the current state of the campaign game on the ruling camp's side. To this end – which the PiS politician speaks of – members and sympathizers will receive new “PiS-packs,” proven in previous campaigns. In addition to emblems with the slogan “Poland at the heart of Europe” and a cheat sheet with the program the party is running on for the spring campaign, they will contain simplified explanations of the details of the “Kaczyński’s Five” and a letter from the party leader. 'We have further tasks ahead of us on the path to building a just state. For it to be truly just, the Polish family must be strong, our values must be strong, and our conviction that we are acting for the good of the entire community. The proposals of the new five are, after all, directed at the entire society' – we read in the appeal from the PiS leader, printed in the brochure. 'Poland is the heart of Europe. It always has been and will remain so. I deeply believe that the presented solutions are a significant step in the process of our country’s development' – we read in Jarosław Kaczyński's letter. Earlier, J.K.K. writes that 'direct financial support is also a positive developmental impulse for the Polish economy.' A PiS campaign strategist we spoke with claims that PiS won the elections in 2015 because it was “close to Poles,” and today people want to feel that the government is close to voters, which is the aim of the full mobilization of parliamentarians and party structures. With the convention in Wrocław, PiS will enter another stage of the campaign on Saturday. PiS deliberately revealed its full candidate lists, with ten candidates in each constituency, to get ahead of other committees. At the “away” PiS club on Nowogrodzka Street, which 300polityka was the first to report on, leader Kaczyński committed all parliamentarians to increased activity in the regions and maintaining consistency in media messaging. The Wrocław convention is primarily intended to mobilize the organizational structures. PiS is returning to the proven model of “flooding the territory” with meetings, used in the 2015 presidential and parliamentary campaigns. According to the party’s strategists, this type of campaign is the most effective.

There is no reason to dismiss the Minister of Education. If we look at the achievements… But why should the minister who has ensured their salary increases over the past few years be held responsible for teachers not earning as much as they would like today? This is in contrast to the period of our predecessors' rule, where there were no such increases for many, many years. Perhaps there were some initially, but then for many years, in 2013, 2014, 2015, there were none, and even in 2016, the budget left to us by our predecessors, prepared by the PO-PSL government, did not foresee funds for salary increases. This means 4 years of frozen teacher salaries, and then the PiS government, with Minister Zalewska at the Ministry of National Education, develops a plan to raise teacher wages. This has indeed been happening successively – stated Jacek Sasin in an interview with Piotr Witwicki on Polsat News' "Wydarzenia i opinie".

- In this entire strike that Mr. Broniarz is currently proposing to Polish students and Poles, there is a lack of logic. Because for 4 years, with no raises, when PO-PSL was in power, he didn't protest. I haven't heard of any strike, of him threatening to cancel exams, as he scandalously threatened with the lack of promotion for students to the next grades. He apologized, but he said it. He showed his true intentions, that he wants to use Polish students as human shields for his ambitions, including electoral ambitions, because he is currently running his election campaign for the head of ZNP. There were no protests then. How would teachers' salaries look today if, throughout all those years of our predecessors' rule, those salaries had gradually increased? - stated Jacek Sasin in an interview with Piotr Witwicki on Polsat News' "Events and Opinions".

- I am using the words that [Sławomir Broniarz] does not have pure intentions in what he is doing. That his intentions are purely political. ZNP and Mr. Broniarz himself are, however, closely linked to the opposition. Let's recall that this union ran in the parliamentary elections as part of the SLD, that is, the party which is today in the European Coalition. It is difficult to escape these political connotations here - stated Jacek Sasin in an interview with Piotr Witwicki on Polsat News' "Wydarzenia i opinie".
